Suwanee is a sociable and witty character, who always wants to crack a joke to break tension. He will be there to share a laugh when laughter is hard to find. However, this doesn't mean it doesn't come with it's own pain behind each smile. Sometimes a simple smile is the hardest thing you can muster. And you do it for those around you.

Suwanee has a serious love for animals. He wants to make sure they are safe and well fed if he finds one, and will try to make it feel warm, and loved. Others find it strange sometimes, but it's natural to him.

Suwanee has trouble controlling outbursts of pain he's been repressing if it gathers long enough. It's never enough to be violent but they leave his mind racked with agony and he is unable to think straight. They usually happen when he has time alone.

Biography

Suwanee, or Shaun Ryan Collier, was born to Marie Simmonds, a Canadian immigrant, and Shepard De Vries, a Dutch Immigrant. They lived in Boston until he was 12, where they moved to Live Oak, FL.

Many days he would bike to the state park with his friends and they would canoe, or spar, or anything really. Shaun had been frequently seen by his peers befriending a baby bird or deer. Many of the animals didn't run from him and the place seemed like a second home to him.

Hence the name, Suwanee.

When he turned 17 he knew he wanted to join the military. His father had survived WWI, and he wanted to fight with him. It seemed as though he was going to, when Germany invaded Poland in 1939. However the US stayed out of the war.

When Germany invaded his father's Homeland in 1940, he made plans to leave for France and join their military, and fight to take it back. However the US entered the war next year, and he was sent to fight in Italy.

After the initial surrender, he was sent to prepare for the Normandy invasion. However a delay in his arrival meant that he arrived after the invasion took place. He didn't have to face it.

Now he is being sent to help defend the Ardennes from the Germans, and he is now fighting in his father's Homeland.

He's pretty throughly traumatized from everything he's seen and done in the last five or so years, but he's bottled all that up because he has things to do. It's not going to be pretty when that gets uncorked.

- In Depth -

Backstory: Kostya was born and raised in Minsk. His father was a watch maker, and while the family was never particularly well off, the were comfortable. With the German invasion in 1941, they were forced into the Minsk Ghetto. The family attempted to escape some months later, but Kostya was the only one who made it out. He joined the Belorussian resistance movement, and has slowly worked his way east towards Germany, being as big of a difficulty to the Nazis as possible. He's been working with the Allied Forces for several months, first with the French resistance, and later with the British and Americans as a spy and guerrilla soldier.

Specialty: Scout/Guide and translator (Speaks Yiddish, Belorussian, Russian, German, French, and English in order of fluency)
