Yes but I do like those that have odd paths to power having all magic users go to the same school in the same classes is a we bit dull.Karcen, Goji has a pretty specific list of magic you can utilize, and its one type of magic each. Interesting magics, though. I'm looking at basically being a cantrip wizard, lol.

Oh perfect, now I'll feel terribly bad when harming the undead.
But the children! There better not be a damn undead dog or otherwise this is gonna go very depressing for me.I won't! Poor things, death is better than slavery.
I was talking less Harry Potter you go to magic school and more something elseKarcen If you like odd paths to power, you might like Shadowfare magic or Magic Smithing. Or maybe Alchemy, as that could be an interesting tool, especially if he uses more traditional weaknesses (lycanthropes v. silver, etc)
Is there room for a warlock type character dnd warlock of course
It still seems all magic users go to a magic school to learn while the branch of magic is diffrent it is still all of x magic users learn the same lessons it seems. They don't, though. Each school teaches specific magics, per Goji, and the magics are pretty unique. I'm looking at Magic Smith, and I've spent two RL days asking Goji questions on the mechanics. And, to his/her credit (pretty sure he's a he), the only time I've waited for an answer was while he/she was asleep, lol.

Yeah I explained it in DM in simpler terms and did mention them being reckless power seekersGojiBean A Warlock is technically a unique brand of magic user in D&D. Wizards essentially use study and latent magic in the surroundings to perform their spells, Sorcerers are inherently magical and thus provide the magic for their own abilities in exchange for lesser versatility than a Wizard but the ability to use any spell without prep. A Warlock, on the other hand, could be seen as an Arcane Cleric. Much like a Cleric or Paladin, a Warlock derives their magical power and many of their specific class features from a Pact with an <Entity>. This is not necessarily an evil entity, but it is rarely a good one, lol. Usually demons, devils, some angels/gods (usually weird ones), etc. They are also full of spam, known for using cantrip-equivalent abilities (Warlock's Blast) to perpetually bombard their enemies. Very edgy, and even more rarely played properly due to lazy DMs.
Technically, a Pact requires two-way transaction. You do <X>, I do <Y>. Most players like to focus on the I get <X> (aka Spells), but rarely like to focus on the fact they're now beholden to Pazuzu, an immortal being of virtually unknowable power and whom singlehandedly has cowed Asmodeus, a fallen God, into being his personal messenger if it comes to that. But yeah, this random Lv1 Warlock gets a freebie, right? xD
I think that the restriction on magic actually helps create a deeper character, actually. Instead of basing your character on their "magical ability" and evolving them around that, you are instead forced to look deeper into your character and evolve them around a set of ideas you want your character to represent. In a way....I think Goji is trying to get us to think a bit more deeply about our characters....if you understand what I mean.my poor poor friend, im not looking to win im looking for a story yes but not one where you can easly railroad us into doing what you want form the looks of the magic system and the way your inforcing character creation it appears as if you wish everyone does things EXACTLY your way, and you can't do anything unique and interesting outside of your own restrictive bubble... i can't see any room for creativity or an interesting character aside form just bog-standard RPG peeps ironically enough. as i said before your magic system literally as a DM "it no worky switch" built-in by how mana is collected thusly meaning if you really feel like it you can simply turn off the PC's abilites as if for a slap on the wrist, along with that i can't see how you can use your magic system in any creativ wasy asdie form the bog standard stuff thats in paper
Funny thing I git my warlock idea through and gm being able to turn off my power is a feature of the idea*sigh* you don't understand much at all do you im trying to give you some advice and yet your seem to belive you system is apparently good... it really isn't
ok it might sound fun yes
but the biggest issue is the way mana is collected and the face areas can simply run out how can i be sure the DM isn't going to decide to simply shut down magic?
and im good at thinking up charatures just your system to too restrictive for anything interesting aside form a brooding rouge or potato pirate lizard

You haven't even read his entire Character sheet apparently.
I suggest all of you who are reading this to avoid this person, a waste of time it is to teach the blind to see and the deaf to listen.
