Futuristic Mech RP Character Bio's

Skylord Nexus

Dabbler in the Dark Arts
Villain:
Name: Lucius Darkburrow
Age: 24
Appearance:
Lucius.png

Personality:
Lucius is generally an extremely energetic, if somewhat eccentric, individual who comes off as strangely nice for someone in his villainous profession and often enjoys annoying other people just to see their reaction. He is, however, extremely smart, and some, such as himself, would call him a mechanical genius and in many ways, they'd be right as few can boast as much technical knowledge and skill as the young engineer. This great skill has unfortunately resulted in the development of an extremely inflated ego, so it's rare that he passes up an opportunity to show people that he's better than them, on the flip side when things don't go according to his 'ingenious' plan Lucius can become furious and often slightly more unstable than he already is.

Bio:
Where Lucius was born, everything was run and owned by corporations, though perhaps a better description would be that everyone was in a chokehold by them. There you were forced to be in employment and the quality of your life depended on how valuable you are to the companies in charge, they decided where you lived, what you're able to eat, even what medical care you got so for many that unfortunately meant getting by with little to nothing.

Lucius was not one of these people.

His parents were both high ranking members of one of the more powerful companies, and while it didn't stop him from being seen as just another asset, it certainly provided him with certain advantages that others didn't have access to such as high-level education and proper nutrition, of course, it also helped that he was somewhat of a child prodigy. However, for all the extra aid he received, there was nothing to help with the stress of the expectations put upon him, at least that's how it would have been with the only two important people in his life, his sister, Alexis, and best friend Janus. In a way, all three helped and supported each other and it was this bond which helped all three stay sane throughout most of their childhood.

After he became eighteen, Lucius was cut off by his parents, not that it was unexpected, that's just how things worked, he was now old enough to work and so his parents had no use for him anymore, such actions were rather common in the city. This wasn't a problem for him though because thanks to his amazing mind, Lucius had already landed himself a rather high position in one of the other companies. While he wasn't as powerful as his parents were, the teen still held enough influence to pull some strings and made it so that Alexis and Janus were both able to work with him, unbeknownst to him at the time however was that this would work against him. To the company, Lucius was raw and untapped potential. Potential they were determined to use until nothing was left, and they were willing to do almost anything to ensure it.

Things started off easy at first, Lucius was given plenty of time and resources to work on anything he wanted with the understanding that anything he created was the property of the company, however it soon became apparent what they wanted. After a few months, the higherups began pushing for more focus to be put on certain ideas and plans, at the beginning it was more of an annoyance, the occasional email, more inspections, however over the next few years it became ransom, with larger and larger budget cuts, downgrades to his workshop. Ultimately they weren't interested in lessening pollution in areas of the city or bettering living conditions for the lower class, all that mattered was Lucius producing ideas that would increase their profits.

The final straw came when they threatened the engineer with the livelihoods of Alexis and Janus, promising that if he didn't continue to provide results they world transfer the two away, and if he continued to perform poorly they world be demoted and demoted and demoted until there were consigned to spend the rest of their days as the lowest ranks workers in the city which were all but a death sentence. They made one mistake though, assuming Lucius would take it lying down because they could threaten him all they wanted, but none threatened his family.

When they next had a moment Lucius, Alexis and Janus sat down to discuss what they would do, which was when Lucius proposed an escape plan where he would delete the entire contents of the cities computer system, essentially erasing every bit of data every company had, from there they would steal one of the worker mechs and escape through a waste disposal pipe. Then the three would use combined their skills to create a better and fairer city so that when their home eventually collapsed the people would have a place to go. Janus, however, didn't approve of this plan believing it to be dangerous not only for them but for the cities other residents, Lucius, however, waved off his friends' concerns and the plan commenced the following week.

Unfortunately, things didn't go to plan. Though Lucius initially believed his wiping of the system to be successful, he discovered that everything had been backed up when he went to meet with his sister and friend, only to discover a large force ready to detail him. It turned out that Janus had turned him into the higher-ups who had taken the opportunity to take Alexis hostage. A heated exchange then followed, resulting in a firefight, I fight which unfortunately claimed the life of Alexis.

Though he'd been able to escape in one of the worker mechs as originally planned, something snapped within Lucius' mind, and he swore that one day he would return to destroy everything the corporations had, and to build a greater city, HIS city in its place, even if he had to raise it from the ashes of the current one first.

Hero:
Name: Janus Arcadio
Age: 24
Appearance:
8197f3e4f9cb2761db18ecda3ba5d5e1.jpg

Personality:
Before Alexis' unfortunate death Janus was a somewhat timid and awkward child who always put others happiness before his own, however now he is cold, calculating and frighteningly ruthless. While he certainly still cares about the well being of the people around him it is overshadowed by a strong sense of justice, not just against Lucius but anyone who would hurt the people of his home, even though that does conveniently ignore the corporations which milked the people for everything they have.

Bio:
Much like Lucius, Janus was born to a family that possessed a great amount of influence and as such was provided with much of the same aid as his friend. He, Lucius and Alexis all bonded rather quickly and helped each other get through their school years, Lucius helped Janus and Alexis with any and all technology-related work, Alexis helped the two with the spectrum of sciences that greatly interested her, and Janus helped the siblings with the theory or mech piloting, a module that was compulsory in their curriculum so that they could be prepared to 'protect company interests should the need arise'.

While Janus excelled at the theory and simulation side of mech piloting he had severe performance issues when piloting the really things due to his timid nature, and without the aid of Lucius and Alexis, it's possible he may have failed and been consigned to a low paying labour role within the city. Instead, he passed with flying colours and was able to work with Lucius and Alexis on their projects, officially providing them with protection and testing for new mech designs.

Where Lucius felt stifled by the company's ever-increasing demands, Janus accepted them even if he didn't agree with them, he believed that if Lucius was about to provide the board what they wanted then he would be awarded more of the freedom he craved. Unfortunately, as the conflict between the two parties became direr and Lucius seemed to become more insane with his ideas of going against their higher-ups, a peaceful outcome seemed less and less likely and eventually, he was forced into action.

Janus knew that he would ultimately need to make a choice, Lucius and Alexis, or the wellbeing of everyone around them. This choice would set off a chain of events that would tear the strange little family apart forever.

The young pilot told the higher-ups about everything Lucius was planning with the understanding the Alexis would remain unharmed and be able to continue her life as normal. He knew that Alexis would follow Lucius to the end of the world if she was able, but he also knew the same was true in reverse, as long as Alexis was safe and sound Lucius would do anything to keep her that way, even if it meant returning to work under the people he despised, but no one could have foreseen what would happen next.

To Janus the event of that evening was a blur, he remembers shouting, gunshots, death, and the loss of his right eye... all because of Lucius.

Janus blamed everything of his old friend who wouldn't swallow his pride, and now he was half-blind, and the women who he loved, who he was never able to tell his feelings to, was dead. He knew Lucius would return one day, so like any other good employee, he put his head down and focused on his work, swiftly becoming the greatest pilot the city had seen in years, soon enough his face was everywhere, promoting every product under the sun, he was even awarded a custom mech for his loyalty to the board, not that any off it mattered to him, he'd do whatever the board wanted if it meant having the opportunity to dispense justice of Lucius.

The sum of the three old friends mech related research. Extremely power efficient, deadly and tough, this mech is in many ways the ultimate defender but to Janus, it holds a greater purpose, the irony of annihilating Lucius with his own lives work.
