Island Map
Yes, this is the map of Dinotopia. I just like the variety in terrain.
Premise: A male, or small group of males, find themselves lost / marooned on a very large tropical island / subcontinent. How, is up to you. Bermuda Triangle? Mysterious storm, whatever. You / they could wash up on a beach, get ships beached, crash a plane, whatever. They do not all have to arrive the same way. It is possible to have both a plane crash and a shipwreck at the same time.
On this island the young men will discover a group of young women (mid to late 20’s) who have been surviving against all sorts of dangers.
About the Island
The wildlife will be something that might have developed back during the Pleistocene Era in a tropical climate. It will resemble the megafauna of Australia and Insular locales both prehistoric and extinct. Examples will include the Haast Eagle, Moa, Australian brush turkey, cassowary, Meiolania, marsupial lions, etc. Some of the creatures will be an original design by me, but with some thoughts to evolutionary development - not so much for horror movies. Also present will be giant insects (dragonflies about foot long, scorpions 3 feet long, etc), giant arthropods (crabs and lobsters 2-3 feet long/wide), very large lizards like 20 foot crocodiles - and much worse - as well as some Lizard Men. (Fortunately, the Lizard Men are primitive, about like Mayans and Aztecs.)
Your character(s)
Should be a male. Athletic. (Though if you do a group, you could do a mix. But some should be alpha male types.) Mid to late 20’s. Skilled. Doesn’t have to be survival skills. Could have degrees in engineering, be ex military, stunt man, etc … Try to make them interesting. (HS dropout with aspirations to play video games for a living won’t cut it.) Your character{s) might even be a little more than human. I DO want to keep it a challenge to survive though.
You will need a CS. Pic, plus the Basics (age and a general description).
