Gaius Danius Griinia

Apparently Infamous
Location: The White Concord Temple

1572569621313.png

The two young boys marveled at the sight of the ancient looking room. "Wow... it was totally worth sneaking out tonight to see this!" said one of them as he ran his hand along the wall. "I know right?!" said the other slightly older boy, who was hopping from side to side. The two of them had sneaked away from their respective houses at the behest of the older boy. "How did you find this place?" asked the younger boy as he stared at his own reflection in the marble floor. "I was paying my respects with my Mama at the temple above and I heard this strange voice that told me where to find the entrance!" replied the older boy as he picked up what seemed to be a goblet. It was real gold, probably worth a few hundred dollarks. He would give this as a present to his Mama since she had seemed so sad since his Papa had gotten sick. Smiling, he puts the goblet away before his attention turns to a strange looking stone in the middle of the room. It was sitting on a platform and covered in strange markings, it looked like magic. Unfortunately he couldn't read it because he never really payed much attention in magic class, it made his head hurt. "Woah... whats this thing?" asked the younger boy as he noticed the stone too. The two children wandered over to the stone, intrigued by the mysterious object.

Free us.......Freeeee us..... said a voice which the boy knew all too well. It was the voice that had led him here. "Where are you?! I want to thank you for helping me find this amazing room!" said the elder boy as he looked around for the source of the voice. You may repay that debt by freeing us.... said the voice before the boy realized it came from the stone. "How do we free you?" asked the younger boy as he ran his hand along the smooth surface of the stone. Simply prick your finger and touch the stone.... worry not young ones.... we will reward you greatly for helping us replied the voice as the two boys looked at one another. Taking out the goblet, both boys stared at the gold item in their hands for a while. Both of their families weren't very happy right now, one had a sick father and the other had just lost his brother to a Demon Beast attack. This gold would make everyone happy. So they reluctantly bit into their thumbs and rubbed the blood on the stone.

The stone glowed with magical energy before letting out an unholy scream. Hundreds of ghostly entities began pouring out of the stone at once, flying around the room and adding to the terrifying shrieking. Turning to his friend, the boy saw a few of the spirits fly into him. Each spirit entering his body made him look more and more pale, with black veins appearing all across his body. Contorting himself in audibly bone crunching ways, the young boy exploded into some kind of sand. Knocked back, the elder boy desperately tried to clear his eyes so he could see. When he did, he saw a horrifying monster where his friend once stood. "Thank you for helping us escape that torment.... time for your REWARD" said the monster as he suddenly pounced at the boy. Unbeknownst to the two of them, a small metallic bird was watching before flying off.

"Thank you! Come again" said a rather cheerful looking young man as he waved off a young woman who had just bought a vase. Sitting down at the counter, the man took a moment to partake in his afternoon tea. Taking a big sip of tea, he notices a small metallic bird fly in and stop to hover in front of him. "Oh hello Phoenix.... is something the matter?" said the man as he set down his cup. The robotic avian then projects a holographic screen that displays what it saw to him. This causes the man to drop his cup, which shatters against the ground with a loud CRASH. "The Leviathan have escaped?! This is not good... my horoscope specifically said that past acquaintances would come back into my life!!!" said the man as he checked his phone for that specific horoscope once more. Phoenix proceeds to screech for a few moments before perching on the register. Massaging his own cheeks, the man proceeds to get up and put on his coat. "Phoenix flip the sign... we need to assemble whatever passes for a MaouRanger nowadays"

While Koalin greatly preferred Gar Epona over any of the human towns her family visited she none the less readily admitted that they had some advantages over the forest town. For example stone didn't rot away if left unattended. Admittedly she had come to a rarely used part of the Hunter home on purpose so it was somewhat understandable that it was neglected but still. Even she would admit that her reasons for sneaking off were somewhat stupid, nothing illegal really just more childish than anything but she didn't want anyone to see it. She had been training to have a chance to become MaouYellow her whole life, and while she hoped she never had too the prospect was also exiting.

Koalin was confident in her combat skills even if others were better in some ways, she was sure she was at least in the top three overal best fighters of her generation among the Hunters. Those skills plus her bond with Amun made her confident the Demon Beast would form a contract with her if it was ever necessary. That was basically her whole reason for sneaking of this abandoned part of town. If she ever did become a MaouRanger she would need her own catchphrase and she wanted to practice in silence. With the bridge unavailable though the risk that someone would hear her making a fool of herself was too great. Since she didn't want to waste the trek Koalin took out her longbow and decided to at least get some archery practice in even if she could just do that anywhere. "Right, let's do this."

Dion Katsaros

Interacting with: noone

Grabbing the towel around his neck and wiping off the sweat off his face, his black tracksuit drenched in sweat from Dion's morning run around the neighborhood. He sees a bench and sits to rest. He still trains despite knowing he doesn't have to. Even when he knows his father is dead and gone, this training regimen- or part of it- still remains ingrained in him. Though relief passes through his mind when he knows that he can go at his own pace instead of having a time limit shoved down his throat. He still dreads at remembering the memories of punishment he would be given if he did not complete what he was supposed to. This peace is comforting.

A vibration in his pocket tells him to take his phone out. Checking it shows a text from his mother saying, "Could you please pick up some milk and a loaf of bread from the store on your way home for me please?" and a multitude of those things called emojis. He still has to get used to actually having free time for once. It still feels like a dream even almost 2 years later. There's so much he doesn't know due to being cooped up inside for most of his life.

Though he supposes if there was a positive to it all, it'd be that he knows how to defend himself and keep himself healthy. If he were to become MaouBlack, he'd be ready for it. On that note, he should pay Morrigan a visit soon. The big bird's probably missing him right about now.

Checking a few other apps on his phone- he's still surprised by how much can fit into this little metal slab-, he gets up and heads for the store.

Angela Dismone was exhilarated. Her sweat was building up on her brow as she reached from the current rock that her hand had been on to another that was stationed at a higher angle. It was a steep climb, but for her, that made it all the better for her. She needed that thrill and what better way to increase her skills than to actively improve them when she had the time.

She closed her eyes and felt the breeze caress the back of her head. It seemed as though she were interacting with a cloud and if she could, would just let go and enjoy the motion. Of course, that just wouldn't do and instead an action like that would just lead to her being smooshed on the ground below. Angela opened her eyes as she grabbed her gear and started tapping in the next mount for her continued trek upwards. She liked the adrenal rush, but unless she were in some sort of life or death need to climb a wall, she wasn't going to do it without equipment.

It didn't take too much longer until she reached the top and saw her perfect spot for her usual training. She already had her blade situated up there, embedded in her usual log practice. She felt comfortable leaving it there only because most people did not come up there. But it wasn't as though the location were difficult to spot. She picked up the blade and began training.

Thorn - 'Boop'
Kyler (little brother) - 'Boop'

Piercing icey blue eyes glowed and contrasted against warm brown skin as the young male glared down at the three armor-clad figures in front of him who held swords. The young male was clad in a simple shirt and short shorts, long hair tied back into a ponytail as he held the hilt of his rapier tightly in his hand. Hearing one of them ask 'Ready?', Thorn narrowed his eyes and got into a sword fighting stance before nodding, a glowing magic circle like glyph appearing under his feet before suddenly he was propelled forward, swinging and deflecting a slash by the first armor-clad man before doing a quick spin, thrusting the blade of his sword ,which was now glowing, forward into the figure's chest who promptly scattered like glass into fragments of glowing blue energy while Thorn moved onto the next to swordsmen. The male's slender body moved gracefully as he deflected and dodged the slashes of opponents before taking them out as well. Turning his intense gaze to last man, he lunged forward again, attacking relentlessly before launching himself into the air and over the figure's head, a magic circle appearing under his feet in midair that he uses to launch himself forward once he was behind the man, stabbing his sword into his back and taking him down to floor while landing lowering himself down onto one knee.

Watching the man fade away into fragments, Thorn hummed before looking up, seeing an older man who shared his dark skin looking down at him. His attention was soon pulled away however when he heard the voice of his 5 year old brother calling him before a moment later he felt tiny arms wrapping around his leg. "Thorny!" The little boy grinned up at him, prompting Thorn to smile down at him. "Hey hun, what are you doing here. You know you're not allowed in here." He said in gentle tone. 'I'm hungry!' Was the response he got, a laugh escaping his lips before he nodded and bent down to pick up the small child. "Well then, time for you to eat." He said, smiling as he glanced up and realized the man who was watching him was gone before he shook his head and left the practice room, asking the child what he wanted to eat.

BLACK & GREEN
The first pair to collect was MaouBlack and MaouGreen. It had been a while since Izuru had been to Crag Rock Canyon. The last visit was over two decades ago, on a little trip to fix one of his many metallic children. Speaking of which, a massive black shape flew overhead. There was no mistaking it, this was the Beast of Aggression. "Morrigan-chan, be a dear and lead your father to your pact partner!" yelled Izuru as the soaring Demon Beast changed direction in response to his yelling. Holding his ringed hand over his belt, a large magical circle appeared next to him. "CONNECT, PLEASE!" said the belt as Izuru proceeded to pull a motorcycle from inside the circle. Jumping on, he did his best to follow Morrigan. Izuru began riding along for a while, occasionally stopping to find ways to cross the canyons that made up the Guardian Demon homeland. Finally he came across a dark haired youth in a tracksuit. Narrowing his eyes, he saw that Morrigan landed right in front of this particular Demon. This must be her partner, Dion Katasaros. The grandson of Old Lady Eris, the former MaouBlack. Smiling, Izuru hopped off of his bike and walked over with his hands in his pockets.

"You who bears the Black Flames and commands the Beast of Aggression. The time has come for you to take your place as a MaouRanger" said Izuru as he pulled a strange device from his pocket. This was the latest version of the MaouChanger, the transformation device used by the MaouRangers. Since the battle against the Pirakkana decades ago, the MaouChangers had become damaged and unusable. This new MaouChanger was a state of the art tool in the coming battle against the Leviathan. Placing it in the young man's hand, Izuru suddenly disappeared...

Staring up at the rocky cliff-side, Izuru pondered how he'd get up to find MaouGreen. Of course he could just teleport up there, but he wasn't going to push his magic when the Leviathan had only just escaped. His thought process was suddenly interrupted by the sound of heavy stomping. Turning his head, he saw another of his children wandering about. This one was Abbadon, the Beast of Strength. They seemed to be looking for something. Walking over, Izuru greeted his child. "Hi Abbadon, I'm looking for MaouGreen... you wouldn't happen to know where they are would you?" asked Izuru as he began to pet the massive creature. Nuzzling him, Abbadon threw their parent onto their back and gestured at the cliffs above. "Oh? Up there? Mind giving your old man a lift?" asked Izuru as he gave Abbadon a pat on the head.

Nodding, Abbadon sank one foot into the cliff-side. Then they put their OTHER foot into the rocky surface. Slowly but surely, Abbadon began making their way up the canyon with Izuru on their back. He even passed a few rock climbing Demons who stared at him in disbelief. Come to think of it, Abbadon never did make a contract with anyone before. So his MaouRanger must have been special. Reaching the top, Izuru saw a young female Demon in full training attire swinging a large sword around with incredible power and fluidity. This was most likely Angela Dismone, Abbadon seemed quite interested in her. Jumping down from the Demon Beast, Izuru called out to her. "You who direct the Emerald Winds and fight with the Beast of Strength. The time has come for you to take your place as a MaouRanger" said Izuru as he handed her a MaouChanger. With that, he waved goodbye to both Abbadon and Angela before vanishing from sight...

Gar Epona was a nice little place filled with all kinds of plants and wildlife. Tourism here was a little lacking compared to other parts of the Netherworld but Izuru had always liked the peace and tranquility here. According to his intel, only one MaouRanger was to be found here. Izuru inwardly cursed that he couldn't bring back a pair but was happy he at least had A MaouRanger to bring. However for some reason, there was no contract made between this MaouRanger and a Demon Beast. Izuru was confused by this and prayed that would change, hopefully soon. Summoning his bike again, Izuru rode along the forest floor in search of this MaouRanger. Soon he heard the noise of trees falling down, along with some mechanical bleating. Recognizing the sound, he ramped off of a nearby dead tree and found himself in a clearing. There in the center of the fallen trees was Amun, the Beast of Retribution. The mechanical ram was in the process of knocking down another tree before he saw Izuru on his bike. Immediately stopping, Amun seemed to stay still. Izuru got off his bike and walked right up to his child. Holding his hand over his belt, it announced "CONNECT, PLEASE!". From the huge portal came a massive boulder that dropped on Amun's head.

"BAD RAM! NO HARMING THE FOREST FOR STUPID REASONS!" yelled an irritated Izuru as Amun slumped to the ground in defeat. While he was the Beast of "Retribution", Amun could still do some petty stuff for dumb reasons. "Now son... where is MaouYellow?" asked Izuru as he stared the massive ram down. Turning his head to the left, Amun gestured East. Jumping onto his back, Izuru directed Amun in that direction. Amun began trotting east as Izuru began to hear the sounds of a bow and arrow being fired over and over again. When Amun stopped, Izuru looked over to see a young female demon fire another arrow with extreme focus and precision. Getting off the Demon Beast, Izuru lobbed the MaouChanger at her to see her reaction speed. "You who moves the Still Earth, thought not the heart of the Beast of Retribution. It is time for you to take your place as a MaouRanger" said Izuru as he gestured toward Amun and the MaouChanger. Then he disappeared from view....

Rubrum was a sprawling metropolis of magic and scientific advancement as usual. Izuru rode atop a monorail as he scanned around for the location of MaouRed and MaouBlue. Crossing his arms, he sat down and kept looking around. Then he felt a familiar presence coming from the North. There was no mistaking this destructive aura, this was his son Baal. Baal was one of his most unruly children, impulsive and bloodthirsty. His exploits had earned him the moniker of "Beast of Annihilation". Holding his hand to his belt, it announced "TELEPORT, PLEASE!" before Izuru moved to the location of Baal. Appearing in the garden of a splendid manor, Izuru saw his son resting near some roses. Baal, noticing his father seemed to reflexively bare his fangs. Izuru walked over and kicked him in the face. When he tried to hiss, Izuru gave him another kick. Baal stopped jeering at his parent and lay down. "Baal... where would your MaouRanger be?" said Izuru as he pet the calm Baal. Baal gestured inside and Izuru nodded before wandering in. The servants were alarmed at his intrusion but allowed him to pass upon revelation of his personal seal.

Entering the kitchen, he saw a young demon male carrying a small child. Feeling the clear bond between Baal and this man, Izuru made himself known. "You who carries the Azure Energy inside and has bonded with the Beast of Annihilation. It is time for you to claim your place as a MaouRanger" said Izuru as he put a MaouChanger on the kitchen table before fading into nothingness...

Ig had just finished classes when he made his way over to the Wolf Cage. This location was where they kept the Demon Beast Fenris. His grandfather, Pax Advantage had gotten him a job here while he attended Rubrum Magic Academy. As the previous MaouRed, Pax was a Hero whose word held a lot of weight. The battle against the villainous Pirakkana decades ago had almost destroyed both the Human and Demon Worlds. However, Pax turned the situation around at the last second and led a successful campaign that saw the complete destruction of the Pirakkana invasion. Since he was a kid, Ig had always been compared to Pax. His father Victor always took being the son of MaouRed in stride and was praised for his own talents. Though since his death at the hands of an unknown assailant, there have been those who accuse Ig and his father of being "Weak excuses for the bloodline of MaouRed". Ig himself was frequently referred to as "Ignept" and "Ignoramus" by his classmates due to both his supposedly tainted lineage and lack of magical talent. The later passing of Ig's mother to sickness drove Ig into a deep depression that only Grandpa Pax could save him from. Ig was chosen as the next MaouRed, despite his family history.

"Afternoon everybody!" said Ig as he greeted everyone else who worked there. The Wolf Cage didn't have many workers but they worked hard to ensure that Fenris was chained up. The reason for this was that the Demon Beast would frequently rampage and destroy things like a feral animal. Numerous Demons and even MaouRangers tried to placate him to no avail. In the end, it was the sacrifice of the former MaouGreen and the assistance of the Dragon Sage that he was captured and imprisoned here. For some reason, Ig was the only person who Fenris wouldn't attack. So he was the one to clean up and care for the mechanical wolf. Making his way down into the cage, Ig used a hose and a bucket of soapy water to begin cleaning Fenris. When he got to the beasts hind legs, he heard a strange noise. Looking at the glass, he saw his boss horrifically transform into a black monster and strike down his employees. Fenris roared at the creature who broke through the glass to get at Ig. The monster lunged at Ig, who narrowly dodged. It then managed to claw his arm with its sharp claws. Holding his bleeding arm, Ig was then knocked to the ground by the monster. The restrained Fenris could only growl at the monster. The creature brought its arm down to finish off Ig.

"DEFEND, PLEASE!" cried an unfamiliar voice as the monster was suddenly thrown back by a magic circle that appeared above Ig. Struggling to get up, Ig saw a strange armored figure walk out from the shadows. He had a glowing helmet, torso and rings. The horns on his head looked more draconic than demonic. The monster got up and attempted to attack the figure. "BIND, PLEASE!" Its efforts were thwarted as the stranger held his hand over his belt, which conjured spectral chains to hold the creature. "Shows over" said the figure as it held another hand on his belt before flourishing toward the monster. "EXPLOSION, PLEASE!" said the belt as the chained monster suddenly exploded into cinders. Ig stumbled a bit before falling over. The figure caught him before sliding something into his hands. "You who call the Scarlet Lightning and command the Beast of Calamity... It is time for you to take your place as a MaouRanger" said the figure as Ig began to pass out...

Dion Katsaros

Interacting with: Morrigan

He had not been expecting the giant bird to come straight to him while he was about to get groceries. And he was just thinking about paying her a visit on the weekend. "Morrigan? What are you doing here?" Perhaps she just missed him enough to come visit him herself. That's cute. Dion took two steps towards her before a man got off a bike and approached him with a smile. While the man seemed friendly enough, he wasn't so sure to trust someone he doesn't know. Plus the guy could just be looking at someone behind him and Morrigan had just decided to come visit him of her own volition. Though once the man started speaking about black flames, he had immediately known that this was referring to him. Okay. This was a little creepy in his opinion because no one just walks to people talking about that kind of stuff.

"You who bears the Black Flames and commands the Beast of Aggression. The time has come for you to take your place as a MaouRanger."

Yeah, a little creepy- wait. Did he hear that right? "Wait, what?" Did he just become a MaouRanger or is this guy just messing with him? Granted, he does not know the actual procedure of how people become MaouRangers because his father had not bothered explaining much other than the fact that they're a group of heroes and wanted Dion to be the perfect successor to the MaouBlack title but this seems too odd to be just how they picked the rangers with just this sudden occurrence. This is way too sudden. But if he really is a MaouRanger now than that would also be really, really cool. And also extremely bad is gonna happen because that would be that something is about to happen and he feels like his head is about to pop off with how much he's overthinking this and his family is going to be in danger now and just oh, no. How is he supposed to react to this?

The man had placed an object in the palm of Dion's hand and leaves while he just stands there processing all of this. Once the realization that there's something in his hand, he decides to stop thinking about it and just accept it. I'm a MaouRanger now. Looking at the object in his hand, he supposes it's the uh... the thing that the MaouRangers use to change into their forms. Yeah. This is definitely that. How is he supposed to change though? It looks like it's supposed to go on his arm so he puts the strap on and... now what? It looks so tiny to be able to transform his whole body into the super suit but this is it. He's a MaouRanger now. He's been readying himself his whole life and to be given this power title just so out of the place seems anticlimactic.

Deep breaths. You are a MaouRanger now. This is what you were trained for, Dion.

Well, there doesn't seem to be any immediate danger just yet. So it seems safe to just continue on with his day except for the fact people are now staring because Morrigan seems content to just sit in front of him. Since she's here now he supposes he can just ride on her back and get a free ride home. "Heya, uh, Morrigan, bud, could you bring me home and just wait somewhere while I go and get some stuff for my mom real quick?" He awkwardly approaches the bird, stretches out his hand and she brings her head down so he can pet her. "Good girl. Now just stay nearby okay?" Dion then quickly heads over to the store and proceeds to get the milk and bread with swiftness. Oh, what is he gonna tell his mom now?

Koalin was shocked to see Amun show up in "her 'part of Gar Epona. The unknown demon accompanying the giant ram was at least as strange but nothing could prepare her for what he said as he tossed some strange device towards her. "You who moves the Still Earth, thought not the heart of the Beast of Retribution. It is time for you to take your place as a MaouRanger"

Since she could tell the device was important she dropped to catch it and while she succeeded she also was blown away by everything that just happened and as such only got her hands on the item right before it would have hit her in the face. At first Koalin felt embarrassed for almost making a giant fool of herself in such an important situation but the unknown demon was already gone.

"Now what do I do?" She always thought she and Amun were kinda close but she had no idea how she was supposed to make a contract with the Beast of Retribution. Not having any better idea she walked up to the giant metallic animal and noticed the bits and pieces of several trees still stuck to it. "Really, again?" She didn't sound angry, just somewhat annoyed.

Despite the evidence of both Amun's strength and temper Koalin wasn't afraid of him since it was nothing she hadn't seen before. She placed her hand on one of his four legs and sat down besides him. "This would be so much easier if you could talk or if your friend didn't disappear. Still I was gonna see you today anyway so at least this saved me a walk."

As she was training, Angela could hear the rumble of the beast, Abaddon, climbing the mountain as well. Perhaps it wished to watch her training. Or perhaps just to keep her company. She knew that it liked to travel around in the valley below. It was an interesting feat that it even wanted to befriend her at all, but one that was certainly not unwelcome.

What she was not expecting however, was the figure that was riding Abaddon up the mountain. It caused her to take pause as she dropped her blade into a nearby stump as he approached and handed her a Maouchanger, said a few words and disappeared.

Shock could certainly be said to be in her mind. Was it true what he had said. Was she now a MaouRanger? Angela looked down at the morpher that was placed into her hand and strapped it onto her arm. She was relatively certain that that was the way that things were supposed to work. Of course, she had never done this before, or even had any training in being a Ranger.

She looked up at Abaddon and spoke. 'What should I do Abaddon?" It roared in response, just what she had expected, but it still was what she needed to hear. She knew that the others who were to be chosen to be MaouRangers would be counting on her once she figured out where they were assembling. She would just have to be ready to take on and crush the enemies that lay before them. That was her purpose after all.
