New York is the city that never sleeps. Known for its skyscrapers, tourist attractions, commercial, financial and cultural centers, it's a place where there's always something to do, and things never get boring. Although its a city that has an allure to it, regardless of whether you're living in a tiny studio apartment, or a penthouse overlooking Central Park, there's no denying that everyone would prefer the latter over the former. Even those living on a budget in Manhattan are probably wealthier than the average American living elsewhere, but those who qualify as being wealthy in New York are on an entirely different level of wealthy than those labeled as it in other places. Manhattan's upper class citizens are a type all of their own, and though their money sets them apart (and above) the rest, it doesn't come without a price, even for the children of those wealthy New Yorkers. Drama seems to run rampant in these crowds, and the students at two of the most exclusive private schools in New York, Constance Billard School for Girls, and St. Jude's School for Boys, lead the pack when it comes to this. Some love the drama, and others want nothing more than to avoid it all costs, but almost everyone seems to agree that it's hard to look away when things start going down. There's some sort of appeal to the drama, and when one person realized this, they capitalized on it by creating an undercover alias, known only as Gossip Girl. If anything worth knowing about occurs in the Upper East Side, you can bet that she'll be the first to know about it, and the first to share it with the rest of the world too.

It appears as if no one is safe from her wrath, which only seems to increase her appeal, since even those at the top of the social ladder are susceptible to being brought back down to earth with a few taps on a keyboard -- and while it's all fun and games to read about everyone else's drama, it definitely adds an extra layer of stress and challenge to the already difficult life of a high school junior. Since there's no indication that Manhattan's most notorious anonymous blogger is going away any time soon, though... let the fun and games begin, and just hope that your secrets don't end up plastered on her page any time soon.

Rise and shine, Upper East Siders. Apologies for the delayed start, but you're not the only one who's sad to depart the long summer days sipping Dom Pérignon in the Côte d'Azur. Nevertheless, duty calls and I don't know about you, but I'm ready to catch up with my favorite social elites. It's senior year, and Gossip Girl wants this class to go out with a bang. Vacationers may have spent the summer traversing the globe in search of new sights and experiences, but when it comes to scandal, you know that I'll take Manhttan every time. Welcome home, Upper East Siders. You know you missed me.

xoxo,

Gossip Girl

It was only Wednesday, but the week had been oddly slow. Usually the first week of school moved by quickly for her, likely because it was still the adjustment period, getting used to the new schedule and the people you'd be in class with for the rest of the year. This time it seemed different though, much to her dismay. It was her last year at Constance and usually senior year was met with a mix of giddiness and angst. It was a bittersweet year because soon you'd be parting ways with the people you grew up with and going off into the real world. For Alaina, though, she was readily awaiting that day. She was keen on this year flying by so that she could get far from Constance, the Upper East Side, and especially Gossip Girl. When her phone vibrated and it turned out to befrom GG, she realized that was why the week was dragging on so slowly. She was sick of Gossip Girl as much as the next person but she couldn't deny that it did keep things interesting which was something she desperately needed as she entered her fifth period class and took a seat at the far end of the room by the window.

She might have been ready to get out of high school as quickly as possible, but her mind pondered over Gossip Girl's most recent update. For whatever reason, a part of her felt like her high school experience had been pretty unremarkable, especially considering how often she ended up under some sort of punishment. As a matter of fact, she'd just gotten un-grounded this weekend after back-talking her mother once again. All these groundings and she really had nothing to show for it. Sure, she was happy that she wasn't front and center on Gossip Girl's blog every day, but like the secret blogger had said, it was their senior year. Alaina might not have been looking for a bang, per say, but she certainly didn't want her last year of high school to be forgettable. Watching the other girls through the window as they went to their class, Alaina looked around for Luna. After looking around and seeing that she was actually pretty early, she was more subtly reminded that yeah, maybe her senior year was off to a pretty boring start.

Alaina once more looked around the room as she tucked her phone away. She spotted Kat not too far away and, ever in the mood for being pesky, she strode towards the girl's desk and sat in an empty seat across from her. "Okay, Kat, serious question. On a scale of 1 to 10, how boring do you think I am?" It probably went without saying, but Alaina wasn't asking because she actually appreciated the girl's opinion, and instead was just choosing to be a pest. Like one, she was already confident that she'd be swatted away, but that was part of the fun in things. A lot of people respected the social tiers and tended to stay within their cliques, not needlessly going out their way to cross-interact. But was the fun in that? Alaina didn't always make it a point to do this, but it had been a particularly tedious morning and she was in the mood to shake things up, even if for a second. "Wait, is that too high for you? Let me help." She held out both of her palms before wiggling her fingers. "How many fingers?"

As AJ headed to his fifth period English class, he had a smirk on his face that was bordering a grin. He was walking with a few of his friends from the soccer team who he had his last class with. “Yeah, well we’ll see about that, man. You know what, if you don’t let Browning score a single goal on Thursday, I’ll bring a bottle of Tres-Quatro-Cinco to the party,” he said to Marco, the team’s goalie in response to a comment about how he would be pissed if the offense wasn’t strong enough this year to beat one of their rivals. As one of the offensive players, AJ had to initially huff at the remark because he was as competitive as they came. Even if he knew Marco was kidding around, he still had to defend himself and toss the challenge back at Marco. Even if their offense was as strong as AJ was sure it was, if their goalie couldn’t pull through, they were all screwed.

After a few more light-hearted back and forth exchanges, the boys parted ways and AJ entered Mr. Reed’s classroom. “Good morning Mr. Reed,” he said upon entering, despite the man’s back being turned to him as he sat at his desk doing something on the computer. AJ had a strong presence about him. He was polite and respectful to his teachers and most adults, and he didn’t have to try hard to make a good impression on most people. “Hey, good morning to you, Mr. Clarke,” the older man responded with a smile as he craned his neck back to acknowledge AJ, who took a seat in the second row of the empty classroom. He wasn’t about to sit in the front row and be that kid, but he also wasn’t going to sit in the back and mess around either. AJ wasn’t the smartest kid in the classroom, and he didn’t always apply himself as strongly as he should have, but his parents had instilled certain values in him, and getting good grades was one of them. He didn’t always excel, but he knew that he couldn’t slack off too much. Besides, he actually enjoyed Mr. Reed’s class so far. The man was in his seventies but still managed to relate and engage with their teenage minds. He wasn’t boring and encouraged participation, and AJ liked hearing the sound of his own voice enough that he had been pretty active so far during the past few classes.

He was the first student in the room, thanks to his last class being right next door, so he spent a minute taking out his laptop and the assignment he had finished last night, before texting Omar.

To: Omar

Marco rly thinks it’s us who are gonna fuck up on Thursday in the game against Browning. As if he didn’t let them score five times last year… dumbass

As he sent the text, he realized that earlier, he had gotten a notification that there was a new Gossip Girl post. Wonderful, he thought. Gossip Girl was… entertaining. Dangerous, but entertaining. If he hadn’t been misbehaving this summer, then he would have been more eager to open the app and check out the post, but he didn’t look immediately. If it had involved him, he was sure he would have heard about it by now.

Elizabeth Bates
Time: 5th Period
Location: Health and Sexuality Class
Interactions: N/A
Mentions: Kat ( BurningBridges BurningBridges ) + Alaina ( cure cure )

So far, senior year had been going according to plan. Lizzie didn't want to get too far ahead of herself, obviously, but things really seemed to be picking up this year and since she'd managed to get a lot done over the summer, the stress hadn't been pulling her down the same way it had at the end of junior year. At the moment, everything seemed managable and she was hoping to keep it that way. She strode down the corridor with an air of confidence, as she headed to her fifth period class, and swung round the corner into the classroom. She weaved through the desks until she got to her own and dropped her bag on her seat. She began to unpack her things onto her desk, glancing up to see Kat and Alaina chatting just a few desks away. She offered a smile in their direction and retrieved her phone.

Checking the notification, Lizzie saw that there was a recent post from Gossip Girl- her first one of senior year, though she had no idea what grade GG herself might be in. She had always secretly assumed it was one of her classmates though. She opened the post and scanned it, unsurprised that there wasn't anything scandalous to report yet. The idea of 'going out with a bang' sent up a red flag briefly, as she wondered if the anonymous blogger was planning to set something up in order to make something more exciting but she dropped the idea quickly. GG may be manipulative but she never got that involved. As long as Lizzie stayed in line and didn't stray from her ideals, it was unlikely that she was going to end up on the front page anytime soon. Just like Luna always liked to remind her, Lizzie was simply "too boring" to make headlines.

Moving her bag, Lizzie slid into her seat and neatly spread out the things she'd need for class on her desk. Then, she returned to her phone and fired off a few quick replies to messages she'd recieved during the last few periods. As she didn't regularly use her phone during or between classes, it wasn't unusual for the messages to build up and when things moved as fast as they did on the Upper East Side, missing a message could be crucial. For example, she was meant to be tutoring a kid from the middle school tonight but his mother had messaged to inform her that he had a soccer game and could she please do tomorrow instead? She let her know that tomorrow was fine, as long as it was between five and six, and looked up from her phone. Lizzie would have to let her friends know she had no plans for tonight; she could gurantee they'd be absolutely thrilled.

Location: English
Interacting: Aj ( BurningBridges BurningBridges )
Mentions: Lizzie ( jinkx jinkx )

School had only just started up again and yet Tristan already felt like he needed a holiday. Lounging on beaches in France was where he belonged, not in boring classes. He was ready for the year to be over, but he also wasn't, it was a bittersweet feeling. The carefree days of his teenage years were slipping through his fingers, and he wasn't happy about it. It wouldn't be long until he and his classmates were thrust out into the adult world. Dealing with terrible unpaid internships and little time to party wasn't something he looked forward to. Needles to say Tristan was not happy about the idea of leaving his party lifestyle.

As Tristan entered his English classroom, his phone vibrated in his hand. "Morning Mr Reed," he said politely as he made his way past the teacher. Mr Reed was cool and actually managed to make English seem interesting. This was an impressive feat as Tristan usually zoned out in the classes before breaks. As well as the class after lunch... He stands by thinking that their breaks should be longer and more frequent. As he unlocked his phone, he saw that it was an update from gossip girl. Finally, something interesting was happening, he was starting to wonder if she had died on vacation. Going out with a bang? Tristan had to admit that made him a little worried especially since it seemed she was focusing on the seniors this year. Could she mean a literal bang, and she was going to blow up the school? That would be some headline. Although very coldblooded he doubted that Gg was actually that evil. Tristan took his seat in the second row beside Aj. "GG hasn't posted anything scandalous yet. But her 'going out with a bang' statement is making me worry a bit" he said, glancing over at Aj before taking out his things.

After spotting Aj's assignment on his desk Tristan quickly pulled out his own. As much as he enjoyed the man's class, he hated English assignments more than anything. There was always so much writing involved it made his hands hurt. Luckily for him, he had convinced Lizzie to help him proofread his work a couple of nights prior. Doing homework had never been one of his strengths, so he was glad that he had Lizzie. Even though she made him figure things out himself and didn't tell him the answers, which was annoying. Tristan picked up his phone so he could send her a quick thank you test.

To: Lizzie

Have I mentioned you're the best? Because you're the best 😄.
We still on for lunch?

Katherine Arnault

Role: The Drama Queen
Clique: A-List
Grade: 12
Age: 17
Location: Constance Billard School for Girls, Health & Sexuality class
Mention: cure cure , jinkx jinkx

It was finally senior year, and though the year had begun two days ago on Monday and Katherine had been back in New York since Saturday, today was her first day back to school. In fact, it was her first class back. Missing the first two and a half days of school was unorthodox and probably not the best start to the year, but Katherine wasn't bothered by it. In fact, if she had it her way, she would have taken the entire first week off. She had been deprived of her summer after secretly being forced into an eating disorder treatment program out of state, so to her, the least that she deserved was one week to herself. In truth, though, that wasn't the only reason why she had been so resistant to return to school. Disappearing for an entire summer with no contact to friends whatsoever would have been seen as peculiar in any world, but in Katherine's world, she knew that it was even more dramatic. For one, Kat was a very social girl. She texted her friends 24/7, and spent hours on social media every day. Secondly, even if she and her friends often spent a few weeks apart during the summer as they each traveled separate ways across the globe for family vacations, summer was still the time to socialize and make group appearances, and in Katherine's clique, appearances were everything. She wasn't worried about falling off the map or being seen as irrelevant or forgotten, but she was worried that her friends would scorn her for disappearing so "selfishly" with no excuse. They were all supposed to be best friends, and one person just disappearing without any reason wasn't a good look for the group as a whole. Possibly the worst part about it was that Katherine had no plans of telling her friends why she was really away all summer. She planned on sticking to the lie that her father had given people all summer, that she had spent the summer in California with her mother and purposely took a hiatus from all forms of social media and texting to cleanse herself. It wasn't believable, at least not to anyone who knew Katherine personally, but she wasn't going to admit to her friends that she had been forced into treatment. She had never even told them that she had an eating disorder, because for the most part, she was still convinced that she didn't. She was still certain that the only reason why she had been forced into treatment was because her stepmother was trying to get rid of her. It was delusional, and probably tied into her illness as well, but it was easier to believe that than to admit that she had a problem.

Katherine had been the first student to arrive to her fifth period Health & Sexuality class because this was the first class she was attending of the day. After spending two days locked in her room, swearing to her father that she would kill herself if he even attempted to force her to go to school, he turned off the WiFi, shut off her cellphone and put a freeze on all of her credit cards. She was tempted to just continue to lay in bed, staring at the ceiling and hoping that she could avoid confronting reality for the rest of her life, but with no way to online shop, life seemed even more pointless than before. Begrudgingly, she eventually got up and got dressed and went to school. The idea of having to face her friends, especially Audrey, was daunting. Coming from the girl that typically loved attention and to be doted upon, she wanted nothing more than to blend into the crowd today, and that said something. Audrey was her longtime best friend, and a very good friend to her at that, but she hadn't earned her reputation for being cold and sometimes cruel for no reason, and even as her friend, Kat sometimes feared the way that she reacted to being crossed.

"If the scale is rating how boring you are to look at, you get a ten," she answered, having only realized that Alaina entered the class when she sat down and began speaking to her. She had been tempted to ask the girl if the ten fingers she was holding up represented the ten pounds it looked like she had gained since seeing each other on Monday in their support group, but at the last second, she opted against it. Students were slowly beginning to trickle into the classroom and she wasn't going to risk having Alaina respond to her comment with something similarly related to their unexpected meeting in the group, loud enough for anyone else to hear. She already didn't trust that Alaina would keep her secret, so giving her an opportunity to out her didn't seem like a good idea. Even if she was sure that Alaina would be annoying enough to distract her from the pit in her stomach, she didn't want to sit next to a weirdo like her. When Lizzie came in and sat down, Kat decided that she wold sit next to her instead. Lizzie was smart, but most importantly, she was nice. She wouldn't let Audrey yell at her... or kill her. Offering Alaina one last sneer, she got up and hurried over to an empty seat beside Lizzie. "Hey," she offered cheerfully. "Did I miss a lot over the past two days?" Her guidance counselor was already working with her teachers to get her caught up on any missed assignments, but Kat asked Lizzie anyway, because it seemed like the best way to make conversation without having to explain her own absence immediately.

Luna was doing good so far this year. Sure, they were only two and a half days in, but she had attended every class so far. That had to be a record! She had attended classes for the past two days because she needed to feel out the courses and the teachers. Even someone as rebellious as Luna could sense when a teacher really was going to fail her just for not showing up, and when they were all talk. In her opinion, if she handed in all of her assignments and took all of the exams, they had no reason to complain about her not being there to sleep on a desk in the back of the room during the actual class. She was paying tuition to A: get a diploma and B: learn. If she was acing all of her exams, she was clearly learning, and therefore, deserved the diploma. The administrators disagreed with her on that, but who gave a fuck about what they thought?

As she strolled into fifth period, a class that was destined to be interesting due to the topics the syllabus said they would address, she spotted Alaina, Kat, and a few other students. She passed Little Miss Perfect sitting next to Kat, and on her way past, she purposely knocked something off of Lizzie's desk. "Oops, my b," she said, looking back with a smile as she continued forward towards Alaina. She was only somewhat surprised to see that Katherine was in school. Her mother had texted her earlier in the morning saying that Bernard was at his wits end with the girl, but knowing Katherine, she wouldn't have been surprised if she threatened to jump off of the roof just to get her way. To an extent, Luna gave Kat props for sticking through her residential treatment program. If it was Luna in her shoes, she would have found some way to escape, or at least convince the doctors that she needed Xanax and spent the duration of her time there high as a kite.

"Second row? Never knew you were an ass-kisser, Clarke," she teased Alaina. "Come on, we're sitting in the back," she then declared, grabbing something of Alaina's so she would be forced to follow, before heading to the back of the classroom. Because of how small the class sizes were at Constance, the back of the room wasn't too far from where Alaina sat anyway, but it was the principle that mattered. "Wanna come over later?" she asked her friend. "I bought some stuff from Francis. Weed brownies, gummy bears, lollipops... the whole party package," she explained with a grin on her face. Luna knew that she had a tendency to be a bad influence, but what was the fun in being a good influence? It wasn't like anyone with a brain would want to turn out like Lizzie over there. That seemed worse than death. Besides, Luna didn't see any problem with weed. She dabbled with things that were a lot worse, but smoking weed didn't seem problematic, outside of the ridiculous amount of money she spent on it... and then the ridiculous amount of money she spent on food afterwards. cure cure BurningBridges BurningBridges jinkx jinkx

Alaina pursed her lips in response to Kat as she dropped her hands into her lap. Kat had done right in cutting the conversation with Alaina short because the first thing to come to mind for a comeback was related to their therapy group. Alaina was too concerned with getting a word in as fast as possible to really think about the potential consequences, unlike Kat. A small grin formed on her lips as she watched Kat leave to sit with Lizzie and she thought about this conversation continuing in a couple of hours. It was probably childish of Alaina to treat something like this so childishly, and to even consider alluding to their group out in the open like this, especially just for the sake of getting a good comeback in. For her, it was a strange way of coping with not only being forced into an eating disorder group (especially because she knew she didn't have one), but also of coping with the fact that a girl she completely disliked was in that group as well. As carefree as Alaina came across, she liked feeling in control of things. Maybe not in the sense that she was such a perfectionist and needed every little detail a certain way, but she liked being able to at least feel the steering wheel. Which this instance, it didn't even feel like she could see it, so making light of the situation made it easier for her to deal with.

Once Luna passed her, snatching her phone off her desk in the process, Alaina reached out to snatch it back and ultimately missed. She followed the girl to the back, scooping her phone as she sat down beside her. "You're lucky I don't beat your ass," she hissed, but not without an amused grin. "The whole party package for a party of one," Alaina teased, knowing that Luna was that much of a weed enthusiast to be buying all of that just for herself. "Well, party of two now." She sighed theatrically, almost in defeat, as she opened her laptop and cast her eyes towards the girl. "You're such a bad influence on me, but that's exactly what I'll need this year." Alaina liked to joke that Luna was a bad influence only because there were only rare situations where she got into trouble on her lonesome. That wasn't to say that Alaina was just some victim following Lu around. No, this was exactly why they were such good friends, even if it usually was Alaina who tended to tame things out. But this year would be a different story, well at least she wanted it to be. Maybe. This was why she needed No Bullshit Luna. If it was simply up to her, she'd probably stay on the path to graduating with a bunch of regrets. Or maybe that was what actually what she needed: a bunch of regrets she could look fondly on. She turned to Luna to explain what she meant. "On a scale of 10, how boring would you say I am? Be honest because I feel like I'm a smooth 8.3, but it's our last year and I don't want it to go to waste, so I want to change that. You're the least boring person I know, so I'm enlisting you to convert me to the dark side. And you can't say no either because you're my best friend so you're required to help me make poor choices." Alaina glanced up to the front of the room, watching Mrs. Barron write on the board. Her mouth dropped a beat later as she turned to Luna. "Shit, we had reading?"

Jackson had spent most of the school day nursing a splitting headache and trying to avoid throwing up. After last nights bender he knew the day was going to be rough but come on, it was already 5th period and he still felt the full blown effects from his hangover. After sitting on the toilet lid for a good five minutes trying to make sure he wasn't going to vomit, he finally got up and left for class rather than skipping and heading home like he wanted to. It would be an insult to Liz if he failed every class after all the time and effort she poured into catching him up over the summer break. Plus, English class wasn't so bad, Jackson enjoyed creative writing and Shakespeare much more than he enjoyed quadratic equations. When he made it to the classroom door he could feel a tightening in his chest. He hadn't seen all his ex friends in any kind of sober situation since last term. His phone vibrated and he halted before entering the classroom. When he saw it was from gossip girl his chest got even tighter. Instinctively he opened it, loitering in the hallway eyes glued to the screen. It turned out to be nothing more than a tease of what was to come. Jackson shut his phone off, composed himself, and entered the classroom.

The way he walked, you couldn't have guessed he was sick, or unhappy in anyway. He carried with him a nonchalant persona. He didn't slouch, or hide behind his bushy dark hair, he walked swiftly and confidently over to a seat in the second row from the back. He had to pass by A.J as he walked, and he couldn't help but glance over at him and Tristan, but he wouldn't bother saying anything unless they did first. It had been all holidays since he'd seen his childhood friend A.J. Seeing him now, perfectly happy, chuckling and grinning like the A.J he always knew made him feel extreamly irrelevant. He wondered weather this guy had ever had his back or weather having Jackson there just suited his fancy at the time. Come to think of it, he rarely saw Omar now either. Omar and A.J had the sport thing in common, Jackson had dropped from the football team close to the start of the year when he had his meltdown. Omar wasn't trying to push him away, but he definitely felt a disconnect anyway. Maybe it was all Jackson's fault.

Probably

Jackson quietly took out his school asignment and began reading over it again. He was kind of proud of this one. Maybe he was good at English, he'd been too into sports to really notice before now. Liz had approved of it when he'd shown her. He brought out his phone and started a new message to Lizz

"Hey Liz, You free at lunch break today?"

It was unlikely she wasn't already planning on sitting with he crowd, but he figured he'd try. What did he even have to lose anymore. He just had to get through the rest of this year then he'd be out of school for good and he'd never have to see anyone he didn't want to ever again.

"By the way, thanks for your help with English, I'm actually pretty confident in this one. :) "

Luna Trevor

"The Rebel"

"For the record, even if I usually like to be the one doing the beating, I think I'd be a switch just for you, babe," Luna replied in a sensual manner, referencing the first thing Alaina had said once she sat down. She was joking, of course (or at least to an extent), because she knew that Alaina was straight (and, back to the other comment, too boring to even try experimenting with girls. "And out of the people that I like, you're like a nine on the boring scale, but out of the people that go to this school, you're floating in between a four and a five," she answered. Truthfully, she didn't think of Alaina as being a boring person. It wasn't a word that would ever come to mind if she was asked to describe the girl. However, she did sometimes use it teasingly if Alaina wasn't willing to go along with one of her crazy ideas. Even if Luna was reckless herself and definitely not boring, she recognized that Alaina's resistance to doing some things wasn't necessarily because she was boring. She had people in her life who had expectations for her that clearly influenced some of her behaviors, and Luna couldn't blame her for that. If her mother hadn't always been so consumed by having to work so hard to provide for her, she was certain that she probably would have turned out differently as well. The freedom that she had as a child, coupled with other situational influences, had pushed her to act however she wanted.

"But you know I'm always down to destroy innocence. By the time I'm finished with you, you'll have at least three misdemeanors and a couple weeks in city jail under your belt," she offered with a smirk. "And yes, we had a reading. Stupid and boring? How the fuck do you not have guys lined up to date you?" she remarked sarcastically. It was hypocritical because she hadn't done the reading either, but Luna was good at bullshitting things, especially when it came to academics. Somehow, she didn't only just get by, but she excelled, even when she only put in the minimal amount of effort. She was blessed with intelligence, and though it probably seemed like she took it for granted, she appreciated it a lot. Being able to maintain good grades so effortlessly was probably the only reason why she hadn't been kicked out of Constance.

Francis certainly wasn't the first one to the class but he was rather content to see that most of the people haven't arrived yet. He didn't have to have a good standing with the faculty - he already had good grades to back up his standing after all. He didn't have to be the top student who looked like he was trying to get the attention of the teacher. He'd really rather not be noticed by any of them or else he felt like they would lock on to what he did. Well, of course, he had connections on the inside to stop anything from happening but he wasn't too keen in using them especially since he was already graduating and he could kiss this school farewell. Just a year and he's out of here. He gave a friendly nod to AJ and Tristan as he passed them and then gave a tight smile to Jackson.

Francis liked to think he stayed out of the messy relationships and drama of the various cliques in the school. He finds them to be quite irritating and overall useless. But then again, when they start making issues, he starts making money. The amount of people who come to him for drugs or invitations to parties often skyrocket - and he often gets a laugh or two out since some try to prank others in the most hilarious way possible. Of course, there was the downside that some of them might not avail his services in the misguided belief that he was part of the plan, but they often let it slide and come back to him anyway. He was their way to things a high schooler wouldn't usually have access to. Lose that and you miss out on a lot of things. It was their loss not his - he still had plenty of customers to attend to. Losing one isn't really something he's worried about.

With a quick wave of greeting to their teacher, he headed to his seat which was at the back and then leaned back. He checked his phone and noticed that GG has finally decided to speak - and she apologized for the delay. And she mentioned going out with a bang. Did she have any special plans for them this time? Francis rarely got involved with the mess and he was inclined to think that she may have some shred of sense in her. She likes drama but it doesn't look like she's aiming to get him in jail. And to be honest, he did look forward to reading her posts again. If anything, it was to keep up to date with everything that is happening and most of what GG says is actually true.

In any case, he put down his phone and took out his assignment. Class was starting soon and Francis wasn't exactly keen on being called out. His mind wandered to lunch and thought about who he actually would have lunch with. Joseph probably was the first one on the list but Arianna was usually alone and maybe some peace and quiet was what he needed. Emily would probably eat with him - she liked hanging around him even though he's noticed that she has friends of her own out there. Nevertheless, it seemed like lunch was secured as always and he didn't have any 'business' meetings for the lunch break so he was clear there. He began to tap his fingers against his desk - waiting for the class to start and for it to end.

Joey was headed towards English class, pretty late as usual, He liked to make an entrance and that didn't really work on an empty classroom now did it? "Terreneeee, man, how's it goin'?" He pointed finger guns at the teacher who probably didn't appreciate Joe calling him by his first name. The teachers had all learned not to get into it with Joey and Mr. Reed just replied with a blunt and stern "Take a seat, Joseph." Snickers from some of the kids in the classrome told him he'd done the job, so he scanned the classroom, located Francis and took a seat next to him. Before doing so he glanced over at Tristan, giving him a cheerful smile. Once he'd taken his seat he glanced over at Francis who was reading something on his phone "Oh, GG huh." Joey said rolling his eyes "At least regular gossipers and bullys have the courage to show their faces." He kept his voice low enough to only be slightly annoying, in an attempt not to actually get himself kicked out of class, which was quite easy for Joey now since he was every teachers least favorite boy to teach.

Joey restrained himself from looking at the latest gossip post, it probably wasn't about him, people would have said something by now if it had been. He couldn't imagine of GG had found out about his secrets. School gossip had a way of traveling, and Joey just couldn't risk his parents hearing anything. They were very active in their social life, trying desperately to fit in with the big spenders. Joey thought they were pathetic sometimes. Then again, wasn't he just as attention seeking as they were?

No matter, it wasn't the time to brood.

Joey retrieved his laptop from his bag and pulled out the assignment he'd written last night at 3am. At this point he was just hoping for a pass. His parents wouldn't be happy if he started failing but he just couldn't concentrate lately, it all felt so meaningless. He just wanted to be in art class, all the time. Everything else was just so... irrelevant

Lizzie looked up from her phone and then put it down with a smile when she saw Kat had moved next to her. Over the summer, Kat had been kind of MIA; there hadn't been a single Instagram post or status post, let alone a text message. Initially, Lizzie had been worried not to hear from her usually chatty friend and puzzled over whether she had upset her somehow. But it had quickly come to light that everybody had lost touch with Kat, not just her, and the rumours had began to fly quickly. Lizzie had heard everything, including somebody who said that Kat was on a retreat in India and wasn't using her phone for spiritual reasons, which had made her giggle. It had struck her as not very Kat so she wasn't surprised when her mother came home with the news that Kat was in California- according to her father at least.

"Not much. We do have to prepare a presentation for history next Friday but it only took me two hours to finish it and I can help with yours if you w-" She was cut off rather abruptly by the arrival of Kat's stepsister, Luna, who swept past and knocked Lizzie's textbook onto the floor; without missing a beat, Lizzie reached down and picked it up again, muttering, "Don't worry, it's no problem."

Perhaps a different girl would've snapped at Luna or made some kind of retort but Lizzie wasn't really the kind of person to make a scene. Especially in class, where she could run the risk of getting a detention or, god forbid, any kind of mark on her flawless permanent record. She just exchanged an irritated look with Kat and exhaled, keeping her mouth shut as Luna drifted to the back of the room with Alaina in tow. Luna really had a way of making her blood boil that most ordinary people couldn't achieve, (in many ways it was almost impressive as Lizzie disliked very few people), but she didn't have any problem with Alaina and liked the girl well enough. It was just a shame she kept such... Unpleasant company.

"Anyway, is it true that you were in California this summer? That's what your dad's been telling everyone but I wasn't sure whether to believe it or not." Lizzie tucked her hair behind her ear, turning back to Kat as if nothing had happened, "But it made more sense than all the crazy rumours that were going around. You know, some people were saying that you were backpacking in Peru?"

That was when Mrs Barron started writing on the board, deferring Lizzie's attention from the girl sat next to her. As much as she enjoyed chatting to Kat and as much as she would've loved to just blank her teacher and continue chatting like so many of the girls did, Lizzie knew that she couldn't let herself fall behind this year. She couldn't miss a single opportunity if she wanted to get into a private college, like her and her parents had always dreamed of. From the back row, Lizzie heard muttering about the reading and couldn't help feeling rather smug that she'd not only done the reading but had done extra too. She scanned over her notes briefly to refresh her memory, only glancing up for a second when Ellodie entered the room.

"Hey, Mrs B," Ellodie called from the doorway, smirking, as she arrived, "How's the divorce going?"

She didn't wait for a response and the teacher didn't offer her one. By senior year, most teachers had grown familiar with her callous attitude and knew better than to engage with her by now, especially since it caused less of a problem to just ignore her. Most of the time, if El didn't get much of a response, she had a tendency to just move onto the next victim. El passed the desks, making sure to glower at those she didn't like, and in one swift move swiped Lizzie's bowler hat off her head. She pushed it down on top of her own dark hair, which always looked grimey no matter how often she washed it, and grinned nastily at Lizzie. Although the two didn't clash often, it wasn't unheard of. Lizzie just rolled her eyes.

El turned to her friend in the back row, (and Alaina), quirking an eyebrow at the pair, "What do you think guys? Geek coture? Lizzie, don't you know that you have to be more chic than geek in order to pull the whole 'good girl' thing off? Frankly, I just don't think you're hot enough to make it work," It was only then that she spotted Katherine next to her, apparently returned from her mysterious absence, "Hey, look everybody, it's Kat! After your little disappearing act, we all presumed you'd fucked off somewhere else. I guess we would be so lucky. So tell me, is it true that-"

"That's enough, Miss Ainsley," Mrs Barron sounded as if she wanted nothing more than another month of vacation, maybe two, or just a job where she wasn't stuck in classrooms full of privileged teenagers all day. A harsher or perhaps less apathetic teacher might have intervened a little sooner but hey, El wasn't here to tell her how to do her job. Regardless, El gave it up and dropped the hat back onto Lizzie's desk before retreating to the back of the classroom. Maybe some people thought of her as mean because she did things like that but honestly, people like Lizzie and Kat deserved to be made fun of. They asked for it.

She slumped down on Luna's other side, dumping her bag on her desk, and grinned at her. Although Luna might not be as harsh as her, she still had a wicked sense of humour and the two of them were close friends. As for Alaina, El certainly wasn't her biggest fan and had made that clear, bumping heads with her in the past. She pretty much thought of Alaina as an honourary A Lister. But if she wanted to tag along with them, she guessed she could put up with her. There were people El hated more.

"Anything worth reading in the latest Gossip Girl or just her usual boring as shit 'back to school' post?" She asked the two of them, as she'd seen the notification but hadn't bothered to read it yet, "I'm starting to think she's losing her edge, you know."

Alaina Clarke

At calling her stupid and boring, Alaina couldn't help but to laugh, even if she punched Luna's arm afterwards. "Shut up, you're so annoying." She redirected her attention to her laptop, her fingertips frantically padding against the keys as she sought the reading she had somehow missed. Alaina wasn't the most studious students, not by Smart Lizzie standards, but by normal standards. It wasn't that she didn't understand the material, though some subjects did take her a bit longer to grasp. It was simply that she didn't apply herself, and what was worse was that she wasn't applying herself because she wasn't interested in the subject because most times she was. Even as a kid, Alaina had always been a curious person, but that also had a negative side when she would purposely break the rules or not follow directions just to see what would happen. This wasn't some teenage phase either, but something she had been doing since elementary school. Her parents had no idea what could possibly be going through her head to make her choose such stupid decisions and it frustrated Alaina to see them so bemused. To her it really was as simple as it sounded. Alaina wasn't like Lu either where she didn't have to worry about applying herself because she was just naturally applied. Alaina could bullshit, but it reflected in her grades. She wasn't failing anything, but when she had averaged a C in art class freshman year, it was a quick wake up call of what could fly and couldn't fly in her household. It's perhaps even more telling than she was able to bring that C to an A- by the end of the year, but she refused to maintain such strong work ethic. To her immature mind, you shouldn't have to stress about such mundane things as tests and projects, things she certainly wouldn't be using in ten years. It would sound like she was just an incredibly lazy brat, which might be partially true, but she was also too caught up in being a passionate person. If something didn't immediately strike her interest, and if she had to work harder than she felt necessary, she would check out.

The reason why she was mildly alarmed about this reading was because it was pretty early to already have her shit out of order, but this was one of the classes she was actually interested in. The syllabus intrigued her, she had her best friend beside her which would innately make any class more interesting, plus the subject itself seemed pretty cool. "Got it," she said under her breath. She turned to Luna to say something else before she was disrupted by the theatrics up front. Alaina couldn't help but to roll her eyes. She knew she wasn't Ellodie's favorite person, and El wasn't hers either although she didn't actually have many qualms with her outside Alaina thinking she could be annoying, like now. "I reluctantly agree with you, El. It was nothing spectacular. Drinking in France. Scandals. Vague, flowery language. Xoxo, Gossip Girl," Alaina explained as her eyes scanned her computer screen. "Ah. So I do remember this. I started reading it and then I fell asleep." She nodded to herself, half-approving. This was good, great even. Because not only had she actually (sort of) done the homework, she had done a good bit of it. This was the kind of underachievement she strived for, or rather didn't. "But," she began, lowering her voice some as she faced the two girls. "Don't you think it's strange that GG decides to post the day Kat gets back from Wherever The Fuck?" She turned to Luna, wiggling her brows suggestively. Alaina clenched her hand, extending an imaginary microphone. "Is there something you'd like to say to the people, Lu? Is it merely a coincidence that the most infamous anonymous drama blogger pops up on the same day as the most dramatic girl in all of Constance?"

While some people dreaded the return of school, Audrey wasn't one of them. She enjoyed summer, and thrived during the months that brought warm weather, vacations, and cocktails by the pool, but she also thrived during the school year. It was nice being her. Summer was about relaxation, but being back in school meant that she was surrounded by her peers once again. Even if she spent summer surrounded by friends, it technically was the rest of her peers who allowed her to socially be where she was. If no one thought that she was better than them, the power wouldn't be hers. It was hers though, and being reminded of it every day was exhilarating, even if she had held it for long enough to be used to it now. Despite all of its ups and downs, Audrey would say that this summer had been a decent one. Actually, if she was asked, she would say that it was absolutely perfect (as everything involving her had to be), but if she was being honest, decent would be the better word. On one hand, her relationship with AJ had been more tumultuous than it had ever been before. He confessed to cheating on her in early July, and in return, she started sleeping with Holden. Not just once to make things even, but multiple times because if AJ wanted to go there, then she would really go there. Ignoring her feelings with Holden for now (because that was another story in itself), the cheating events were obviously stressful. Being cheated on hurt a lot, especially for someone like Audrey, who couldn't comprehend the idea of not being enough for someone. What was possibly more stressful though, was trying to keep the events quiet. So far, no one knew outside of her and AJ (and Holden, and despite her not knowing, Elena too). AJ and Audrey had both lied about who they had cheated on each other with, and Audrey had no reason to suspect that it was one of her best friends who had stabbed her in the back like that.

Speaking of Elena, she had (ironically) been one of the reasons for why her summer had its good parts too. Kat's disappearance had left her worried, offended, angry, and admittedly, a bit lost. Kat and Elena were both her best friends, but Kat was the girl that she relied on to be there whenever she needed her, for whatever she needed for. Just disappearing into thin air was unusual and alarming, and the cover lie that her father was giving them in regards to her absence was comically unbelievable. She didn't like secrets unless she was the one keeping it, and though it was selfish to spin the situation into one where she was somehow the victim, that was exactly what Audrey did. In public, she played the part of a good friend who had heard from Kat and knew that she was in California with her mother, but in reality, she made numerous unkind remarks to Elena about the audacity that Katherine had to disappear like that without informing them. She eventually came to the conclusion that the only plausible reason for her disappearance was that she had gotten a nose job or something similar, and it either went wrong and she was too mortified to show her face, or it was dramatic enough to require that long of a recovery time. When Katherine didn't show up for the first or second day of school, and she still hadn't contacted anyone, Audrey did begin to worry.

Needless to say, when she and Elena entered their fifth period class only to find Katherine sitting in the front row besides Lizzie, she was surprised. She refused to let the emotion surface on her face, because again, she had a public image to maintain, and she wasn't going to admit that her best friend had snubbed her just as equally as the rest of the world. She glanced at Elena, offering a smile that was mostly only present due to their being others in the room, while also giving her a "play it cool" look. Now wasn't the time to ream Katherine for her behavior. That time would absolutely come, but not here, and not now. The last thing that Audrey wanted to do was behave like the trash at the back of the room and cause a scene. Taking a seat beside Lizzie, she nodded to Elena to take the seat next to Katherine. While the class hadn't begun yet, their teacher was already preparing as she wrote something out on the board. With a couple of minutes left before the final bell rang and class began, Audrey knew that they had time to chat. Typically, she would have, but what was there to say with all of these people only a few feet away? Though a small smile remained on her face as she carefully set up her desk for class, those who knew her could likely tell that the smile was cold, and her lack of conversation came with meaning too. Audrey was difficult to read in many ways, but sometimes she didn't mind showing that she was ready to destroy someone, even if only those closest to her understood that certain expressions and behaviors meant that. As she opened her Macbook, she used it to text Katherine and Elena. She typically would have invited Lizzie as well, but Lizzie was the sweet one out of the three of them, and Audrey wasn't going to subject her to the discomfort that she was certain she would feel if she ate lunch with them.

"The Rebel"

Ellodie was never one to enter any scene quietly. She liked making her presence known, and Luna liked that about her. In some people, such a trait would not be befitting, and technically, it wasn't for Ellodie either, but that was what made it suit her character so well. She had socially been banished from existence, and in the minds of those above them, that meant that she no longer was important, relevant, or existed. Ellodie retaliated against that by doing the exact opposite of what they wanted. She wasn't just going to sit back and hide, cower in fear of the enormous amount of social power that they held. She was going to make sure that they knew she was still alive, strong, and fearless. While she probably seemed obnoxious and cruel in the eyes of many, Luna recognized why she was the way that she was. People weren't born with such harsh personalities. They became hard and cold because people forced them to be. If anything, Ellodie's behavior represented how badly these girls had hurt her, and because of that, Luna didn't think that anyone could blame her for adopting such a defense mechanism.

"If you think that Katherine's capable of even spelling Gossip Girl, you're dumber than I thought, babe." It actually was a good observation, and a fair one at that. It was odd that Gossip Girl had only returned just as Kat did. To make a back to school post three days into the year was peculiar given Gossip Girl's on top of it nature, but for it to align so perfectly with it actually being Katherine's first day back to school was even more odd. Alaina's suggestion made her think, and she was going to bring it up to Katherine later, but she still didn't think that it could be true. Katherine really was a complete and total idiot. No matter what one wanted to say about Gossip Girl, there was no denying that she had a way with words, and Katherine lacked everything related to that and more. For how dumb and dramatic Katherine was though, there surprisingly very few bad things posted on that blog. On top of that, when was the last time that anything scandalous had come out about her bestie, the pretty little Queen Bee? A long time. Were her PR people just that good, or could it possibly be an inside job? Was Kat really the fucking Gossip Girl?! It couldn't be, but it also could be. Luna was thinking too much, and it was making her crave a hit or two. "But you know, I guess you're right, that kind of is weird," she admitted at the end of momentarily thinking too deeply.

Audrey and Elena entered the classroom then, and as cliche as it sounded, most of the heads in the room did turn to watch them come in. Luna's included. As much as she was disgusted by the pecking order of the social hierarchy, she understood why Audrey stood where she did. She had a captivating and alluring vibe to her. She was a huge bitch, and Ellodie's experience with her spoke to that in itself, but she was still that bitch. "Not gonna sit with your bestie today, El? I'm sure their conversations about Louboutins, French tips, and what it feels like to fuck the male version of Alaina is more fun than anything that we can offer you," she cooed playfully, knowing that even referencing Audrey had the potential to irk Ellodie, but not caring.

AJ turned sideways in his chair once Tristan sat behind him. He enjoyed Tristan. He was a character, that was for sure, but he was a guy with a good heart, and most importantly, he was a lot of fun. They weren't too similar in personalities, but they shared some interests, and most importantly, both of the guys were pretty likable in personas. AJ didn't clash with many people, and Tristan had never given him a reason to dislike him. "Yeah, well if she means it literally, you better hope that she's not one of the many girls you've ghosted after a one night stand. Scorned lovers are notorious for being crazy, dude. Look into adding a bullet proof vest to your wardrobe. I'm sure you could get one fitted to meet dress code," he responded quietly. Even if he was joking, talking about something like that wasn't something you wanted to shout from the rooftops in the current climate of the world. He doubted (and hoped) that Gossip Girl didn't mean a literal bang, but Tristan was kind of right in suggesting that who knew when it came to the anonymous public figure of their school network.

He returned the nod that Francis offered him in passing. While he used Francis for a couple of things every now and then, he preferred to keep their relationship as a business-only one. AJ wasn't so conceited to think that acknowledging the guy's existence was a hit to his social footing, but he was content with the extent of their relationship ending at friendly nods like that. It was nothing personal, really. Joey entered the classroom and chimed into the conversation as well. He was another one that AJ wasn't really friends with, but didn't mind in doses. He kept the days interesting for the most part, and even if AJ felt like he sometimes crossed the line into becoming obnoxious, he typically found him to be amusing, even if he managed to contain laughter on most occasions for the sake of seeming like a good student. "This is why neither of you have girlfriends," he began in a rather cocky fashion. His relationship with Audrey was nearly in shambles, but virtually no one knew about that other than them (and Elena, he supposed), so he still felt like he could talk the talk. He didn't know Joey well enough to know that he was gay, so the declaration felt fitting. "You don't understand girls. They love doing this underhanded type of gossip shit. They thrive off of it, and it makes a good show for the rest of us anyway." As long as Gossip Girl wasn't talking about him and his relationship, he didn't hate her. "Besides, if we knew who it was, it'd kill the whole vibe if she turned out to be some ugly chick."

Katherine rolled her eyes as Luna strode in, knocking Lizzie's textbook to the ground like the rude and childish girl that she was. It was baffling that Kat was thought of as being the brat of the family when Luna acted like that! Lizzie didn't seem too bothered by it, outside of a look she sent Kat that Kat had to return, because she knew oh-so-well how it felt to be a victim of Luna's annoying behavior. She was good at getting under people's skin, though Kat didn't understand why she had to do it to people like Lizzie who had literally never done anything wrong to her. When Lizzie began to question Katherine about her summer, she almost wished that she had stayed with Alaina. Even though she knew it was an inevitable topic to address, she didn't want to talk about it. She supposed that Lizzie would be the easiest to talk to, though, since she probably wouldn't press too hard. She was the smartest of them all, but she was also nice, so Kat hoped that she would believe her story. She did scrunch her nose, though, in reaction to Lizzie claiming that people thought she had been backpacking in Peru. 'Yeah right. My life is bad enough without malaria added into the mix,' she thought. In what she thought was a lucky turn of events, Lizzie's attention drifted from her pretty quickly, as Ellodie commanded the attention of everyone in the room. Unfortunately again, Lizzie seemed to be targeted. Admittedly though, Kat wished that she had been the only one targeted, because she didn't like it when Ellodie turned the attention towards her either. Though it wasn't as bad as being nearly assaulted, as she would claim El had done to Lizzie, she still disliked Ellodie even uttering her name, nonetheless doing so in a way that drew attention to a subject she was trying to hide from. "She's so rude. I hate her," she muttered to Lizzie. Even though their teacher interjected and in turn, forced Lizzie to shut the hell up, Katherine still felt very anxious. It didn't ease with the next group of girls that entered.

Audrey and Elena were her best friends. Their arrival shouldn't have made her chest feel tight and heavy, but it did. It wasn't Elena necessarily, because Elena was always nice to her. It was Audrey. Audrey was the friend that Kat trusted the most, and they were best friends, but everyone knew that Audrey disliked losing control of anything, and that included her friends. Katherine knew that she was wrong for not reaching out to her friends while she was in treatment, since she did have access to the telephone, or at least on Saturday when she finally got home. She wanted to, but at the same time, she didn't know what to say. Audrey was too aware to believe any of the lies that Katherine planned on giving each time she considered reaching out, and she wasn't willing to admit the truth, so she was consistently stuck at a stand still until so much time had passed that she was here and now, finally facing her friends in person. She smiled at the girls as they approached, though it felt slightly as Audrey decided to distance herself and sit on the other side of Lizzie. That, along with the silence that followed, was all that Katherine needed to see to know that she had some explaining to do. Audrey was angry, or upset, or both. Kat couldn't really tell, but she knew that it wasn't good.

Is she mad 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Audrey's text confirmed what Katherine suspected, but she couldn't resist sending a sad cat emoji in hopes that it would properly express her apologies to soften the mood for later, and then texting Elena separately. She must have spent the summer with Audrey, so Kat assumed she had a better understanding on how bad this situation was going to be. She wasn't necessarily looking for honesty, though. Katherine was sensitive and emotional, so when she asked for advice or reassurance, she was usually looking for whatever answer would make her feel better.

The bell rang to signal the transition period between classes. Elena walked in perfect stride to match Audrey, who had been on edge all day. She had worked hard to make sure her best friend had an enjoyable summer, especially since Kat had disappeared with not even as much as a goodbye. Elena was unbothered by her other friend's absence. She was a nice enough girl if you could overlook her dramatics but she found that a difficult thing to do. Still, she was nothing but nice to her when she was around and, despite not having an affinity for her like Audrey did, she was curious to her whereabouts. She had plenty of theories and suspicions, some of her own and some others gathered from word of mouth, but nothing solid. Kat's father had provided Audrey and herself with a very bad cover story that she was spending the summer in California with her mother but even Elena knew better than that. No calls, no texts - that meant something huge was going on.

So, naturally, Elena was surprised to find Kat poised perfectly in the front of the classroom next to Lizzie. Hers, and the eyes of a handful of others in the room, raised at the sight of the two girls. She immediately glanced over at Audrey, who flashed her a smile and one of the looks - but Elena knew better than to let her emotions show on her face and plastered on a dazzling smile of her own.

Audrey motioned for Elena to take the empty seat next to Katherine. She did so without question, settling into the hard wooden chair. From the corner of her eye could see Audrey seat herself next to Lizzie, take out her Macbook and begin typing rapidly. Not even a second later Elena's phone is vibrating in her pocket. She takes it out and places it on silent after a brooding gaze, interrupting him from scrawling something on the board. The silence that hung over the four of them was heavy, almost tangible. She felt like the entire classroom was beginning to notice, questioning why they weren't chatting it up like they usually would be, so she decided to break the silence.

"Hey," she said to Kat with a soft smile, "How have you been?"

She wasn't going to berate her for answers. She knew Audrey would do that later, judging by the anger she could feel broiling in her best friends soul. She could imagine exactly how she felt and, to a much lesser extent, felt the same herself - angry, confused, betrayed, humiliated. How could Kat leave them without an explanation, as if the seventeen years of friendship had meant nothing? As if they were just anybody? But instead Elena just picked up her phone as she received another text.

Messages (2):

From Audrey & Katherine:
Audrey: We're going to Noglu for lunch. You have 45 minutes to get your story straight, Katherine 😉.

and

From Katherine:
Is she mad 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Elena didn't feel the need to respond to the group message. After all, Kat was the target in focus right now. But she did respond to her individual message, almost feeling bad for the onslaught of emotions Audrey was going to stir up in her at lunch. More than anything, though, she was looking forward to it. A confrontation meant drama, some answers and plus, it would be an entertaining way to spend their very first lunch reunited as friends.

To Katherine:
Kinda. But she loves u. Don't worry 💕 💕

Mason could truly say that he enjoyed his summer, he'd gone to his grandparents in London where himself and several other cousins had lazy around. Sadly that wasn't all he did, his folks believed that since he would soon be graduating it was time for him to learn about his fathers business so he'd studied with his grandpa on occasions. He loved the old man and even though the work was boring he didn't mind spending time with him. All and all the vacation had been worth the while, he did miss his friends and was happy to be back home. His busy schedule had kept him from messaging them as often as he would have loved to, and also kept him away from whatever drama happened during the break.

Due to his flight being delayed he didn't make it for the first day of school and was way too jet-lagged to make it to the second day. So today would be his first; he walked into 5th later than most of his mates, first greeting Mr Reed. He made his way over to Tristian, Omar, and AJ smiling at them "And you do AJ?" he asked his friend laughing at his comments about girls taking a seat behind AJ, "I mean you are right, girls do love gossip, but so do some guys. But you my dude probably know jack shit about women, they're a complicated specimen left for men to forever question" Mason said in a stereotypical British professor voice. Placing his backpack on the ground he started acknowledging everyone close by, giving a brief nod of acknowledgement to Francis his dealer, well basically everyone's dealer. Next, he said hello to Joey who he wouldn't acknowledge normally but he was in a good mood so far.

Honestly this year he'd try, keyword on TRY to be nicer to everyone, including the B-listers. He didn't have any issue with most of them, well except for those who attempted to overstep their line. The one person who he saw causing a problem for him this year would be Jackson, who he didn't great. That relationship had crashed and had no sign of recovering anytime soon. Not wanting to dwell on it too long he moved on to the last person in the group, Omar, Mason hated himself from being nervous around the guy. Honestly, he's the only person next to his parents that make him nervous and it was for a completely different reason. "Sup Omar", he managed to get out without stumbling over his words or acting strangely, yeah this year would be different.

Francis wasn't surprised when Joseph came in to their classes late. In fact, he would have been more surprised if the guy came in early. He waltzed in with the grin of his and a tease to the teacher who was quick to berate him which caused some of them to snicker - Francis included. He was, after all, a funny man. He wouldn't say that it was Joseph's job to always keep the people around him happy and content but it certainly felt like it. He watched as the guy plopped himself on the seat beside his and peek over to see GG's latest blog post. He smirked. "Well, you can't always resist the allure of getting away from the consequences of your actions." He shot back before spinning his pen between his fingers. Unlike most of the others, he kept himself to a strictly old school policy of using notebooks and pens but that was mostly out of preference so he doesn't get too distracted in classes with the orders that came in from his laptop.

His eyes traveled to AJ when he spoke. Something about not having girlfriends to which Francis rolled his eyes at. He was never one for searching for romance - hell, he wasn't even one for searching for friendship. Something that long last and personal irked Francis. Where's the fun in having someone knowing everything about you? 'Where's the fun in having to spend time with someone whenever they wanted it? You even have to blow off some money to keep the relationship going if he was going to base it off the relationships the current people he knew had and Francis would like to stay the hell away from that. Watching it was way more fun and he got to leech off of it too. Nothing says you love your lover so much than getting them expensive gifts that you can't normally get.

But AJ did have a point. Watching the drama go down thanks to the girls was certainly a bit fun. Unlike most guys who would rather just deck it out using their fists, girls loved to simply just use other tactics to ruin the other's life. Francis could definitely and confidently say that theirs was a bit more destructive since they tend to destroy emotionally instead of physically. He should know since he had provided some of them with the information they needed to hurt a bit but not too much. Francis rarely gave them anything too sensitive especially when it could be traced back to him and their respective dealings. He had his ways after all and the girls are always willing to pay. "I just want to know how she gets the info she gets. It's one thing to know some things about others. It's another to know the things she puts in her blog." Not to mention the amount of hate and spite you had for everyone to want to undermine relationships by exposing them to the entire population of their schools and more. He saw MJ walk in and he was pretty sure he hasn't heard a peep from MJ the entire summer break but that wasn't really of any interest to him. What meant a lot more was the disappearance of a certain popular girl who is a loyal customer. He wondered if she was back from the dead.

Late, it was only the third day of classes and Emily was already running late, not because she enjoyed arriving late to her classes it was because she had to deal with the administration service for her scholarship, even if Constance was one of the best schools they didn't have a clue of how to do all the paperwork for a scholarship but Emily knew that was understandable since trying to find a scholarship student at Constance was like trying to find a needle on a haystack.
Even if she rushed all the way towards her classroom she knew she would already be late and Emily hated to get in trouble, she wasn't as a perfect student like Lizzie but she tried to keep her grades as high as possible in order to maintain her scholarship and even if she wasn't that behind from Lizzie or Arianna in terms of grades, she was like an unknown person or at least for most of the A-listers something she didn't mind that much it was better for her to not being the center of attention only because she didn't come from a wealthy family.
Throughout that day and the last two, the main topic of conversation was the summer while everyone else traveled around the world to this amazing places, Emily stayed at home helping her parents taking care of her brothers and the only placed she went to vacation was no other than Coney Island, not the luxurious resort everyone at Constance was used too but at least she had fun with her family.
When she arrived everyone instead of being the one everyone would look because of being late everyone was paying attention to Ellodie and how she was mocking Katherine, Emily didn't know all the details about the drama around Katherine, she disappeared during the summer without giving a clue to where she went or something like that and everyone freak out and thought the world was coming to an end. She didn't have the time to be updated on the situation of Katherine, Emily already had enough drama with her part-time job at the gas station with Jackson and trying to make that her siblings wouldn't kill each other while their parents were away.
And arriving after Audrey and Elena helped a lot that way no one would really notice that she just arrived. She took a quick look for an empty seat, Lizzie was already sitting with Katherina, Audrey and Elena and even if Lizzie was one of the few A-listers that talked to her and was nice to her sitting with her was not an option, she tried to avoid sitting with Luna and Alaina not because she had a problem with them it was more with Ellodie, the two of them didn't get along although Emily was never mean to Ellodie but she enjoyed mocking her about how she didn't fit at Constance.
Thankfully a seat next to Arianna was empty the two of them have been friends since middle school so it was easy to talk to her ant both of them were really similar and wasn't really interested in the dramatic life of the rich kids. Arianna was because she decided not to be part of that world and Emily didn't have any other option. Once she took a seat she took her laptop out it wasn't a MacBook like everyone else had but it worked for the school and that's what matter for her.
Just before she put all her attention in class she sent two messages one for Jackson and the other one for Francis. That's when she noticed the message from Gossip Girl saying this year would go with a bang, just like every student at Constance Emily have read what GG posted but she was never the one that appeared on her posts, Emily was pretty sure that not even GG knew that she studied at Constance.

To Jackson:
I help you and say that you were sick yesterday, so you should better show up today.

To Francis:
Just to make sure, we are eating lunch together as always, right?
"That was quite the start of a class. The message of Gossip Girl, the return of Katherina and the awkward environment that it's around them. Don't you think?" Emily said in a slow voice to Arianna making sure that no one else would listen to her except for Arianna.

Tristan chewed on his bottom lip as he continued to go over what GG's welcome back message could mean. He might have been giving it too much thought but it was the only interesting thing that had happened all week. Aj pulled him from his thoughts by replying to his earlier comment and teasing him about his scorned lovers. Aj always was a great laugh, there was no wonder why he was King of the school. "Ah shit. I never thought of that. Hmm... I could probably make a bulletproof vest look fashionable. Who am I kidding I could make crocs come into fashion" Tristan joked back, matching his quiet tone. It might be a bit of an insensitive topic for them to joke about but they were boys and it's not like they were being loud about it.

Tristan looked up from his phone in time to give Francis a friendly nod as he walked in. Seeing the male reminded him that he needed to acquire some items from him later. It was always handy to know someone who could get you anything you needed. It seemed that while Tristan was on his phone that Jackson had stumbled in, looking a mess as always. God, it's not that hard to pull yourself together after a long night out. Then again he was always extra critical of him but he couldn't help it as he absolutely despised Jackson. The sound of his phone vibrating on his desk pulled him from his thoughts. Tristan quickly wiped away the frown that had formed on his face, he didn't want to get wrinkles from such an insignificant person. The notification was from Lizzie confirming their lunch plans. Thank god. Tristan was worried that Jackson would try and snatch her up for lunch, another reason he despised the male.

Tristan couldn't help but chuckle softly as Joey walked in and pestered the teacher as per usual. He had always thought that if Joey put the effort in he would be able to snatch a seat with the A-listers. But sadly the male didn't seem to mind his status. Tristan flashed his usual charming smile as he smiled cheerfully at him. He would have to pull him aside to talk later, seeing as GG seemed to be out for blood he wanted to make sure that he would be extra careful. Tristan turned back to facing Aj as he made a comment about him not having a girlfriend. "Oi, I could tie a girl down if I wanted to. I just prefer the company of many women and men" Tristan said with his own cocky smirk forming on his lips. "Oh trust me I know. I mean Elena is the queen of gossip. Honestly, sometimes we'll be going at it and she starts to bring up the latest gossip. Though I do admit we all know I am quite the gossiper myself" It was rather well known that Elena and Tristan were quite familiar with each other's bodies. There weren't any romantic feelings between them, she was one of his closest friends, one of his best friends. Their friendship was just like that.

As Mason joined them Tristan punched him in his shoulder as he walked past. "And where the hell have you been? Showing up three days into the school year" he scolded the male playfully. Though he was quite annoyed that Mj had abandoned him for two whole days without so much as a text message. "If you ever radio silence me like that again I'll tell all of Constance you have crabs" he threatened jokingly
