For as long as any source could account for, man has lived beside another intelligent race. This other race was often given the title "Beast". These "beasts" are anthropomorphic animals that have the capability to walk and speak like a human would. Humans and beasts have coexisted in relative peace for as long as historic records can recall, but they were never exactly seen as equal to one another. Humans had always seen themselves as superior when compared to beasts. Man saw beasts as dull-minded creatures that were made by the gods only to serve humanity's needs. They were used for slave labor, as servants. Beasts were forced to take on jobs no other man would take. The were the lower than anyone else in most social systems. As time went on however, they began to stand up for themselves and tried to gain an equal status to that of man. Most attempts were unsuccessful, but as it got closer to present times, their cries for equality were answered...somewhat. Beasts, although not as much as what it used to be, are still seen as inferior to humans. They're often discriminated in local places such as diners, parks, shops, and even schools. Beasts are still struggling to gain justice peacefully, but recently it has been much more violent than in the past. Riots and fights would break out from no where. One moment you'll hear nothing but friendly chatter and birds chirping, next you'll hear shouts and sirens. Everyone, even beasts, are baffled by the sudden violence. Maybe there was something deeper that was going on.
Some time in the past few weeks, police were given some information from multiple sources on the street that a certain gang was enticing these riots somehow. Seeing as many of their 'sources' were just helpful street rats, a few of them were too trusted for the department to brush it off. They'd have to investigate these claims sooner than later, because at this rate, there wouldn't just be more fighting, there'd be a full blown war.

It's been a little bit since I've tried doing something new, so here it goes. This rp, in case you couldn't tell, is about a race we commonly call Beasts here on RpN trying to gain an equal status to humans. Although it's been relatively peaceful in the past, recently things have gotten a little more heated between humans and beasts. Brawls would spring up suddenly and out of nowhere. Not only are the citizens of both races confused, the police department is as well. Recently, they've heard from many of their sources on the street say that a gang is starting these riots in some way. The department dispatched one of their detectives to investigate the situation and bring down this gang. It'd be no easy task for one man, so he has an idea.
This rp will take place in modern day New York City. You'll be able to play a beast or a human, maybe even both if you want, but I'll only allow two characters each. I am looking for literate players who are capable of writing good sized posts (sizable paragraph or more) and can post relatively often (at least 4 times a week please). As for people who want to place as a beast, there are some rules I have about them. One; you can only play as a wild animal. Two; only real animals wild animals allowed. Thirdly; only natural fur patterns. No crazy colors unless it naturally occurs.
