The year is 2241, the last great war of humanity has changed the face of the earth forever, pushing the once apex race of the planet to nigh-extinction as the last surviving members of the species struggle to survive in the world their forefathers had ruined.
Heads of state, generals and other powerful people had destroyed the world as they had thrown the future of their race away, their endless hunger for conflict creating even greater destruction.

Yet the end of the war, where machines and men warred against each other, didn't come with the sophisticated weapons of mass destruction they had devised in recent years, but rather at the hand of one of the oldest, most inhuman weapons.
Atomic bombs wiping out human life all across the globe as those few who managed to escape the destruction would find themselves in a world that was nothing like the one they had known...

Thus began a new age of Metal and Machine

The world is recovering. Wounds that were once inflicted on the once prosperous society did not. The remaining humans started to repopulate the land from the many shelters and other hiding places that had saved them from the gruesome fate war had in store for them.

What little remained of the human race had to adapt and overcome to ensure their survival as they were blessed with one last remaining relic of the days before the war.

Machines.

Man made, man-like.
Titans of steel, the Goliath to the David that was mankind.

Mechs.
Machines that had thoughts of their own, that once bonding with a human would be their best friend and invaluable allies in the hazardous world that they called their home.

These gigantic machines would allow humans to rebuild what they had lost...
or so some had hoped...

Humankind, since their rebirth in metal, has formed little communities all around the devastated landscape as plantlike once again started growing around the ruined earth. Fertile soil and clean water being a rarity as humans would localize around those oasis-like areas.

And yet simply farming would not suffice as humans were still slaves to things rooted in their very DNA. Their unquenchable curiosity, their capacity for violence and their desire to always chase their dreams.

And so this volatile society would bring forth all manners of humans.

Scavenger venturing deep into hazardous wastelands to find once lost technologies from a bygone age, vaults filled with the treasures of their warmongering ancestors, inactive stray mechs wandering around the wasteland without a pilot to link to...

But also those who desired to rule like humans once did in ages past, once small gangs of bandit folk settling down as they formed their own "kingdom" and sought to add more and more settlements to their ever-growing territory, ruling with a literal iron fist.
The only thing standing between them and total domination being access to the largest vaults of their warring ancestors...and unlikely heroes, rebels, rising up to put an end to them.

Because SURVIVAL is more than just living!

So, as you might have already noticed, this is a post-apocalyptic Mecha role-play that plays in a wasteland where humanity's building up a new society, threatened by an uprising nation of warmongers.
Our characters would be inhabitants of this world.
Scavengers, mechanics, Mecha-fighters, simple farmers, standing against the threat as they have to rally behind their value for freedom to win the fight against all odds as they explore the world their ancestors left them, uncovering the secrets of old as they bond with their machines.

Great, I'll put up some extra pages on lore and extra info as well as an OC!

Since playing Nier Automata, I’ve been craving something like this! I’m in if you’re still accepting! It looks so cool!

I'm quite interested in this as well. Nothing like a good post-apocalyptic RP to get the blood pumping in my veins again.
