Here we go, the day has finally come. What is today you may ask? Well, let's see... oh right Malibu Mansion! Today marks the day that Malibu Mansion opens yet again for a select group of people. Some could only over dream of becoming a celebrity and others were heading on the road to fame, but the program decided to give them a boost. Whichever it may be Malibu Mansion is the program where celebrities are made, so with that being said, Welcome to Malibu Mansion!
~~~~~
Alright so Cruze, yikes Cruze... to begin with lovely Cruze. Well starting the morning off at 9:00 am and almost giving your grandmother a heart attack was always a great way to start the day, right? How does one possibly almost do that?
Well as Cruze is a 21-year-old grown-ass man, he does still have the heart of a young child. Mixing a cheery Cruze Mavericks and a day like this is a cause for chaotic catastrophe. As he woke up the realization had hit him that today was thee day where all his hard work and dreaming were finally paying of. He would be heading to Malibu Mansion which is where he would have the chance to be set in the right direction for Musical theatre. That realization led to him springing to life and breaking out in song. To be exact, For The First Time In Forever... yes, from Frozen.
His poor unexpecting grandma had just been sitting there watching the tv on low volume so as to not disturb her sleeping grandson, but no Cruze had a much different plan. The sad part was he was far too wrapped up in his song to even notice. In his defense, to be fair the song did fit his energy and what was happening today. Seriously where did he get some of this energy after first waking up? But there he goes, to the shower.
After a very much-needed warm shower, Cruze is back out into the main part of the hotel room, running around like an actual maniac... and he is still singing, the same song. One minute he was here, then the next he was there, and so forth. It was impossible to keep up with him. If you asked his grandma what he was doing she would have answered it with a 'losing his mind' remark. Now if you asked Cruze he would simply tell you he was compiling an outfit.
To begin with, Cruze found a long-sleeved black turtle neck which was a great start. From there he found a plaid brown and white dress shirt, light brown overcoat, a darker shade of brown dress pants, and a belt. Of course, he couldn't forget an over-the-shoulder book bag. But he was missing something, which hit him after the fact he was dressed. But what was it?
Walking out of the bathroom he stopped and turned toward his grandma. "Hey Grandma, what in the world am I missing? Of course he got the parental 'figure it out yourself look.' Alrighty then! Time to run around again, in search of something he was missing, but unsure of what the thing was. It took longer than it should have, but the moment Cruze was struck with that 'oh yeah!' realization, his brain just shut down causing him to stop in his tracks, and well not realize what he was on the verge of shouting till it was out of his mouth.
"Shit, boobs!" His grandma had gone wide-eyed for a second or so before breaking out in laughter, which caused a chain reaction. His grandma was good with helping him with the dysphoria that came with situations like this, just laugh it out together. She may not have to deal with dysphoria, but she'd be damned if she let her grandson suffer in its grasp. So humor came into play, as she had learned it helped him push through.
After five minutes of laughing uncontrollably, it was broken off by a coughing fit erupting from Cruze's grandma. Without a second thought, he was shooting off the bed to her side. There was nothing he could do for now except just sit there and rub her back. This wasn't uncommon for her with her deteriorating health... the entire reason why she had to retire.
Of course, she was stubborn so the moment she got water and it settled she was pestering Cruze on how she was fine and that he should take care of himself, meaning go put that damned thing on. He didn't want to be a nuisance, so a moment later he began singing once again... yes, the same frozen song, and rushed to the bathroom to put his binder on.
~~~~~

Today was checkout day, so once they had packed up the car, they checked out of the hotel. It was now 11:15 am, they didn't have to be at the Mansion till 1:00 pm. More than enough time to find a place for brunch. So that is exactly what they did. Nothing exciting happened during brunch, just a bit of talking and eating delicious Malibu food. Once they were out and back in the car the clock read 12:30.

Now Cruze had 'the early bird gets the worm' mentality so of course early was perfectly on time for him. What he didn't expect was the traffic, crowds of people lining the roads, anddd the detour. Mind you this was the only way to get to the mansion. But what caught him off guard the most was the black SUVs making there way on both sides of his car and behind. There was one coming his way through the blocked-out detour space. The lead one had officially closed him in.

Ok well, that isn't terrifying to the unexpecting person. Well turns out it was Mansion security just trying to keep him out of the eyes of the public. The lead of the group had made his way out of his vehicle, as 'citizens' who were actually undercover security agents for the mansion moved the barriers out of the way, so he could get out. His job was apparently to check that Cruze was the right person and inform him of the next moves.

So after checking id's and invitation validation, the man began talking. 'Hello Mr. Mavericks, all the subs surrounding you at his moment are here to keep you away from the eyes of the public while we guide you to the Mansion. We will keep this same barrier around your vehicle and all you are required to do is drive, we will do the rest. All I ask is don't get trigger happy and ram me and don't abruptly stop. I assure you that our security detail in the back would appreciate it if you didn't. Got it?'

With a nod of his head, the man headed back to his vehicle. Once he started moving it was an immediate indication for everyone else to follow, and so they were off. Hell, when they reached the mansion, Cruze could have sworn they were still in the middle of the road. It seemed like such a short ride, but once the black SUV's began disbanding from his vehicle he saw the mansion right before him. "Wow" was all he could muster through his utter speechlessness.

Cruze was so amazed he failed to notice the Mansion worker at his window until the knock came. Of course, he rolled down the window immediately. 'Mr. Mavericks, I suppose you wouldn't be parking the vehicle in the garage as your grandma needs a means of transport, so if you could I would be more than happy to take any bags you have up to your room. As for your grandma, if she would like she is more than welcome to come in and stay for a while, if not we could detail someone on guiding her out.'

Cruze hopped out of his vehicle to hand the worker to get his bags out, more of his stuff would be making its way here from Florida soon. The last they heard the moving crew was just entering California. His grandma wanted to come in, but she had a flight in a few hours that she couldn't miss, so it was just Cruze heading in with the man. While Cruze said goodby to his grandma, the man worked on moving Cruze's bags. As always Cruze got a very strict reminder on taking breaks from his binder so he didn't hurt himself.

With that, he was heading off into the entrance hall, whilst she was waiting on her transportation guide. He was in utter awe when entering the entrance hall. Beautiful innit? The worker asked. All Cruze could really do was nod.

Yet another worker ran over to take over for the current worker at his aide as he had to head up upstairs, to where all the rooms were. This lady was very sweet and patient with Cruze allowing him to stare in awe before drawing his attention back. Mr. Mavericks let's head to the sitting room, straight ahead. For now, you are the first to arrive and a little early, but that is ok. For now, you can sit in there and wait for the others to show up. Maybe find something to keep you busy. Come along!

The sitting room was wonderful, as expected by Cruze. 'Alright here you are, Mr. Mavericks. For now, just wait here, please don't wander as you will get lost, further instructions will be coming your way once we have all of you with us. Please don't hesitate to holler if you need anything. and then she was just off and Cruze was left to himself. 'Well Cruze Mavericks welcome to a new beginning.' He whispered to himself.

River

Now, the punk rock world was a lot smaller than people really expected, and River was pretty deep in it. Had been for a long while. The avant garde scene and all that, so when the genius behind Les Titans had asked him if he could crash on his couch, River had readily agreed.

He’d been a bit starstruck when he’d first met the tall giant, exhausted from the red eye trip. Even with his hair fluffed out and poofy like a dog that had just come to the groomers, he looked like a god, all muscular and 6’7 and a learned tiredness with the world. Quiet and serene. Very European. River couldn’t be happier with one of his idols.

Gladly, he’d accepted Auguste into his home. Let the sleeping titan on his couch. And quickly he’d learned that it wasn’t just Auguste’s trip, he carried the world on his shoulders constantly. Probably didn’t bode well for the giant’s mental health, but hey. It led to an easy nickname. River had watched him singing a song, and it was probably the closest thing to heaven he would ever witness. Like a communion with a god of old. He offered up a part of his soul to some sort of god and created something beautiful with it. Auguste was good, he lived up to any expectation that River had placed on him.

Auguste was also very particular about information spread about him. And, considering the rumors spread about him in the media… well, River didn’t really blame the man. But he could see the hurdles that he would have to struggle through…

But that was all the notes he had on Auguste. The punk singer was excited to see the rest of them all. The horror novelist, the Broadway singer. All walks of life. Fascinating for learning about everything he possibly could. After all, you could only get so much knowledge from books, you had to go out and experience things yourself.

River was the one driving to the school. For some reason, Atlas couldn’t drive. But it was fair enough. Eco friendly and all that. River should probably give up driving as well, but someone had to get them to the school.

Speaking of which. The black SUV thing was a weird occurrence, and River wasn’t sure if he liked it quite or not. After all, he and Auguste surely weren’t the ones that the paparazzi were here to catch. And the poor frenchman’s face had gone an ashy color and his knuckles turned white as he gripped his seat. River reached over and gave his knuckles a little pat, which seemed to jolt the ballet dancer back into the present.

“Atlas, they are keepers of the lighthouse.” River said simply as they handed their IDs over and received their verification. “See? The glass should remain intact up here.” He gave Auguste a little poke in the forehead and pulled into a parking spot where they were quickly ushered into the seating area. Show time, alright.

He pushed a lock of red hair out of his eyes and grinned broadly at the figures gathered. Oh he was going to have so much fun at this school.

The alarm beeped at 6 am just like it always did. He hit his alarm clock and got up out of his bed. He was still extremely groggy as he made the way to the bathroom. He threw on some exercise clothes and headed out to the door. But he stopped. Right.....

He turned back around and sat down on the bed. It had only been a few months since his contract with the San Diego Padres had lapsed. During a particular game, he had pulled a muscle. He hadn't thought much of it at the time and had gone on to play more games. But as time progressed, the pain in his leg had gotten worse. Eventually, after seeing the team doctor. A pronouncement was given. He would have to be benched for a fair amount of time, if not indefinitely until it healed. He had tried to do as much therapy and stretches as he could to facilitate the muscle healing, but overtime it became clear he may not play again.

That had been a few months ago. Since then, he had been extremely depressed. He had basically lived really poorly, barely leaving his house for a few weeks until his agent had persuaded him to get cleaned up and do some auditions for acting. Apparently, his lax attitude and friendly demeanor (when not burdened by depression) was fairly convincing and he became a top prospect soon enough.

He glanced around the room as he sighed again. For years, his time had been spent working out or practicing every hour of the day. Otherwise it was studying opponents, watching film, studying tactics and strategies of baseball. Now that his time had seemingly ended, he was mildly lost in what to do. His old work outs were impossible given his injury, so he decided to have a quick breakfast and go for a run. He strapped on his knee braces and began jogging.

Returning at 7, he got into his car, an old small ford truck his father had owned a long time ago, and headed towards the mansion. One of the things he had done when the injury came, was to sell a lot of his more luxurious belongings and invest the money. He had a couple million left from his old salary invested, and he hoped that he wouldn't have trouble finding work. Soon, he drove closer and closer to the mansion and the intensity of it all soon showed as he was escorted into the mansion.

It was something like entering a packed stadium of baseball fans even if he didn't have any of his team with him. He pushed the melancholy thoughts aside.

The person standing there as he exited his truck began talking to him about the mansion but before he went on, he opened up the trunk of his truck and started taking out bags, lifting them onto his shoulders.

"I'd appreciate it if I got my own bags thanks. If you wouldn't min showing me to my room?" The man seemed to give him a confused look before nodding.

He could only grimace as he felt the weight of some of his gear weighing on him as he lifted his bags. It was probably a bad idea to lift all of his bags in one go but he hated the idea of other people doing this for him. Besides, he could at least prove to himself that he could still do something, even with the injury. He moved slowly towards his room, sweat beginning to form on his brow as he made it, just. Setting his bags down with a clang, he sat down on his bed while the man seemed to give him an odd look. He frowned a bit before collecting himself. He would have to up his strength training...

He stood up and nodded to the man before following him to the sitting room where he noticed someone sitting, waiting for the others it seemed. Removing the strain from his face from earlier, he smiled and waved to the person. "Hello!"

He decided to keep things simple before everybody else arrived. He was sure introductions would be had. For now, he took some breaths and kept the smile on is face as he relaxed in the chair and waited for the others to arrive.

Auguste

Auguste was not having a good day.

He started the day out hitting his head against a car frame as he tried squishing himself into a car that was definitely not built for people 6’7 in mind. He then had a minor attack of anxiety as he saw the cars closing in around him. And then he got shoved in a room full of strangers while the only person he knew (not his friend, more like his work colleague) decided to leave him to go talk to some baseball jerk.

He wasn’t a jerk. That was mean. From the twitter conversations he had with the baseball player, Auguste knew that the guy was actually really pleasant and nice and he didn’t deserve to be called a jerk.

That made Auguste kind of a bad friend didn’t it. He felt bad. He should apologize for having the thought that Michael might’ve been a jerk. He just wanted to talk to someone he knew.

He walked into the corner - hitting his head on one of the swinging lamps in his haste to get across the room - and plopped himself down, trying to keep his long limbs to himself and out of everyone’s way.

He glared at anyone that tried to come near him. It wasn’t like he meant to do it, but strangers were scary and he didn’t want to really talk to anyone. He just wanted to get to his room and sink into the bed forever and ever. He would’ve been alright with a couple of people (Michael, for example, but he wasn’t ready to admit that), Leona for example. He would’ve loved it if Leona tried talking to him.

But she didn’t sit down next to him. Instead, the poor sap that managed to get unlucky enough to wind up next to him was… Greg.

Now Auguste was rather anxious, and he knew that he may have gone in a little bit too hard with the whole “fuck Freud” thing, but then Greg had implied that he didn’t actually care about his classmates. Or, well, was a rather cold and unfeeling individual in general. And… well. He could remember a time very distinctly when he was like that, for real. He had to believe that he was doing better. Otherwise… He had to believe he was doing better.

He gave Greg a smile. It was very wolf-like. All teeth. More of a grimace really. He slowly turned his head from the novelist and continued people watching like the scary motherfucker he was.

And then a pause. Now wait, that had been immensely rude of him. Should’ve engaged in small talk. That would’ve been the nice thing. Ohhh he was awful at this. Greg probably hated him now. Greg always hated him. Greg was right and should hate him he was the worst person in existence he couldn’t even do a fucking conversation correctly what was wrong with him why was he like thi-

Auguste turned back to Greg, another terrifying grimace-smile. “Hey. How was the drive over?”

He had a kind of throaty rumbly voice, but very soft spoken and surprisingly pleasant to listen to when you got down to it. And a light French accent coloring his words here and there.

Maybe he should just do it, swerve his bike, end this all before it began. That was always a possibility.

The moment Vinnie had seen the SUVs closing in he freaked, no way in hell was another vehicle getting that close to him on his bike. If he were to die it would be on his terms. But once the id business was over they made it clear that he was good to go without getting closed in since his helmet covered his face. Valerie was following close behind with some of his belongings and of course the pets.

Then boom just like that they had taken his bags and shoved him away in a room with the others, yay socializing! Ugh, why didn't he just do it, swerved off the road. Bye-bye to this 'fun' experience. Vinnie could feel the awkward tension in the room from the moment he entered.

damn!

Loki was harnessed and leased at his side for the time being. He hated leashing Loki, but for now, it had to be done since he was in a new place and he would wander otherwise. Bandit was cuddled into his shoulder, while Rascal refused to let go of his finger. "Hola people! your personal circus has arrived. I'm of course the Freak show, Loki is the little lion, Rascal is the clown, and Bandit is the acrobat."

Apparently, at that exact moment, Rascal wanted to show off his skills as he climbed his way up onto Vinnie's shoulder and began his little sticking out his tongue act. Vinnie really hoped this would just lighten the mood in the room a notch. I mean who wouldn't find this adorable? It's not every day you see two finger monkeys and a fennec fox.

Bandit had hated the car ride without Vinnie's presence so the moment she was freed she found her way onto Vinnie's shoulder while Rascal found his finger. However now she was getting restless up there. Without any warning, she leaped down from his shoulder, finding her way to the floor with ease. Before Vinnie even had the chance to scoop her back up she was dashing off and leaping again.

This time it was right into somebody's lap. "Ah, Bandit you can't just make yourself at home on someone's lap." As if to make a statement to what he said she stared at him before curling back into a ball and plopping herself in Leona's lap. "Dang B, I see how it is... Vinnie glanced up at Leona. "Uh I apologize for that. I could scoop her up if you would like." A suggestion maybe, not everyone was comfortable with animals.

Lem + Auguste + Michael

It was the crack of dawn. No she was not kidding. And yes she was fully awake. NOW YOU MAY ASK WHY THE FUCK SHE IS UP THIS EARLY AND SHE WILL TELL YOU! She was going horseback riding. This is what happens when she couldnt sleep or was full of jitters which, unfortunately, both were the case. So she dressed in some basic riding gear and threw on her helmet and boots heading out the door.

Riding always cleared her mind when she couldnt always played the cello. And she wasnt sure her maman or hotel neighbors would be happy with her if she brought out her cello bursting into song. As she stepped out of the hotel she shivered, a breeze had swept by and after growing acclimated to the hot california weather it was weird for it to be cold. She just shook it off and went on her way to the Sycamore Farm, choosing to walk instead of drive.

She had nowhere to be and she enjoyed the stillness before the rising sun. Boots echoing on the pavement as she brushed her hand along the buildings, a quiet hum from her lips. And after about 17 minutes she arrived at the farm. Over the past couple days the owners and workers have gotten to know Amethyst and said she can come by whenever as long as she didnt disturb the residents nearby.

So she saddled up Lune and climbed up the stirrups. Well tried to anyway. They were a comical sight together, a 6 foot tall horse with a 5'3 foot girl. YOU THINK AFTER YEARS TOGETHER SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO GET UP ON HER OWN DAMN HORSE. Well after a bit of struggling she was able to get settled on the Percherons back, clicking her tongue. READY FOR TAKE OFF!

The horse started to move and Amethyst moved with him, a natural feeling to move like water with the horse. Where the horse moved here so did she. At least she was able to master that with a horse. The girl could hardly stand upright on her own. In fact on her way walking to the farm she had ran into three poles and a building. Do not ask. This was just how it was.

As she clicked her tongue again and dug her heels into Lunes sides, he sped up to a trot. Now leaning slightly down and grasping the reins, she let one hand go and pat his pale grey neck. "Bon garçon Lune." She whispered before focusing back on the trail ahead of her. The sun was starting to peak in the east and streak the sky with its brilliant colors. Truly a stunning piece of work.

Like one of those famous artist took their paintbrush to the sky. Did she know which one? Fuck no, she didnt know artists. Well maybe she did- Van Gough and the one who did weird squiggly faces. Yep that was about it. Art class was not one she focused in alot. Or if she did she was half asleep. NOT HER FAULT SHE WAS KEPT UP TILL MIDNIGHT GIGGLING WITH SOME OTHER GIRLS!

As she rode she kept her mind busy by trying to keep Lune on the path not that he could already do that and all the pretty different things. Little flowers starting to bloom, hanging trees with heart shaped leaves, and a pong over to her right. It was peaceful, something that freed her mind from the constant worrying that has shrouded her since she got the acceptance letter.

What if she wasnt enough for this school? What if she wasnt as good as her peers? Or what if they decided to kick her out before she got a chance? What if she had to return home to her taunte, papa, and maman once again as a failure? WHAT IF-

Ok Amethyst just needed to breathe. So she breathed in and held it for 5 seconds before slowly releasing it. Try to focus on other things than those thoughts. Ok she was fine now. Also the sun was pretty much out and the sky started to turn to a soft baby blue, painting the ground in soft golden colors. So she turned Lune around and clicked her tongue. Back to the farm they went!

***
She had returned to the room and was now changing to get ready for the day. She didnt want to look poor, not that there was a problem with that. But she wanted to have a good first impression with the people she was about to spend awhile with. Maybe this outfit- no this one- NO THIS ONE IS THE ONE! She held up a cream and tangerine off the shoulder shirt, with very poofy sleeves.

Oh yes, This was the shirt. Now for pants. "Hmm..." She scouted the mini closest for a pair of shorts because DEAR GOD HELP HER IF ANYONE THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO WRAR PANTS IN THE CALIFORNIAN HEAT. Then she came upon a pair of soft white shorts.

Knowing Amethyst, white was a bad color choice. It always ended up ruined but hey maybe today would be different! So she got dressed and then stared in the mirror, blowing a strand of hair out of her eyes. What to do with that..? Nothing. She would simply do nothing but make a small braided crown that haloed around her face and hair. Easy peasy now she was ready!

It was now time to get dressed and finish packing up her stuff. She couldnt really bring much on the plane with her so she just brought necessities for the time being. Everything else could be bought later. So really just a bunch of clothes, her cello, laptop, riding equipment and photos. She turned around to her maman, face soft as she hugged her. "Im going to miss you maman!"

"Ill miss you my petit poullet-"

Our dearest maman did not get to finish speaking.

"MAMAN!"

Amethyst screeched. And her maman just laughed.

"ITS NOT FUNNY! DO I NEED TO SENT YOU DO THE NAUGHTY STEP?"

It just made her laugh harder and fall back on the bed, streaks of grey shining in the sunlight pouring through the window.

"HmmmpHHH." But Amethyst couldnt help but smile. Though there would be a grudge held against her for calling her a chicken. That was not cool lady. She was LUCKY THAT AMETHYST DID NOT JUST BREAK DOWN AND RUN SCREAMING OUT OF THE ROOM. But because Amethyst was the shinning light of calmness which was an utter lie she didnt. Now as she glanced at the clock she realized the time. Oh shit. OH SHIT!

She quickly grabbed all her bags, which in reality werent that bad expect they were heavy. Who the fuck decided to making riding equipment heavy??? SHE WOULD GO BACK IN TIME AND talk to them politely and not hurt them because why would she hurt someone. So that was it, she waved goodbye to her maman and then was out the door. Amethyst didnt dare look back, she didnt want to be sad and didnt want to think she was abandoning her maman.

She gulped before making her way back to the ground floor and waved goodbye to the workers and calling out to some in french. Then like that she was gone, packed up, and now in her car going to the mansion.

***
The. Traffic. Was. HORRIBLE!! She lowered her head and sighed, accidently bonking her head on the horn. Which startled her and the person in front of her who turned out of the window to shout at her and gave her the courtesy finger.

"SORRY SORRY!" She shouted back and ducked her head from embarrassment. Did this happen to everyone else? It probably was, she reassured herself. She then pulled out her phone to check her messages, opening up her messages to scroll through some. Maybe she should text Lem real quick to see if they were meeting up or if that was just an idea thrown around and not actually going to happen.

Maybe she shouldnt have been so excited about that. It was probably just one of those "in the moment things" and Amethyst should go sit in a corner politely being quiet. OR MAYBE- She had actually made a friend and should go and find her. Amethyst let it roll around in her mind while she waited in traffic then decided. She was going to find Lem and become even better friends.

Oh and they started moving again! She let out a sigh of relief as she started her car back up when suddenly other cars circled around her. What the fuck??? Was this a ploy to kidnap her?? HER MAMAN TOLD HER THIS WOULD HAPPEN. SHE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED. She cursed silently to herself. Then someone was at her window and she rolled it down, "Bonjour." She said meekly. The other women was now quickly talking.

"Hello Miss Vanidestine. Those people are just here to keep you out of the prying eye of the public. Dont worry. We will now be guiding you to the mansion, where you will meet your fellow learners seeking to gain more knowledge in their subject. Just keep up and dont panic. And we need your identification and letter." A smile on the womens face as she fetched the stuff out of her purse and she looked it over before nodding, handing it back. She b up and Amethyst rolled her window shut with a nod.

Ok she could do this. They were just protecting her not that she minded the media.. in fact she kinda liked the attention it brought her though after her failure she didnt really want more on it. Or questions about it. ANYWAYS! She had now arrived at the mansion - AND HOLY FUCKING HELL. THIS WAS WHERE SHE WAS LIVING AND STUDYING??? She blinked. Once. Twice. Before coming to her senses.

"Wow- This is going to be fun." She whispered before a knock at her window again. Was that going to happen often? Oh it was just a worker, so she rolled down her window again. "Hello Miss Vanidestine if you dont mind ill take your bags and I assume you are going to park. So head down the drive way to the thrid door which is the garage thank you."

Amethyst grinned at the person and waved her thanks. "Will do! Merci!" She popped the trunk and they grabbed her bags quickly and waved her off. She waved again before driving to where she needed to be again.

Amethyst was now buzzing with excitement and dread. How could she not? Like yay new friends and new beginnings! But then again new people to actually get along with and maybe there was a chance they knew her history. She didnt want anyone to recall all that. Hurt too much.

As soon as she was parked someone showed her to the waiting room which had a couple others in it. A few she recognized off the bat. Michael who taught her about baseball or aka whack a ball with stick and rootbeer which was floating cloud soda.

A grin on her face. She somewhat considered him a friend. Then there was Auguste. holy bloody hell he was terrifying, those bright blue eyes and height scared her. But Amethyst couldnt judge off appearances. She had seen him talk on Twitter and he didnt seem like a bad guy.

Then there was Lem. WAIT. "CHOUETTE! LEM! Bonjour! Look at you! Even more beautiful in person! How are you? Its nice to meet you finally! Was your travels good? Oh sorry im talking alot ill stop-" She had quickly walked over to the tall female with a bright smile crossing her features.

And god she really really was pretty! And a plus that the girl was also from France! Maybe it wouldnt be so bad after all. "Have you seen your room yet?" Dragging the girl over to a love seat sofa and sitting down facing the girl with her hands clasped her her lap. No way out of this now Lem.

Holy.Fucking.Shit.

Driving was more convenient,but shit. A flat tire, her phone dying on her, and a lady almost hitting her..going up to her window and telling her to get out. It was probably the worst two days she has had driving. She just had to put that all behind her because she was about to be at the Malibu mansion where she would work on her aspiration to be a director.

Her back her, her butt was sore and Leona was ready to get to the mansion. She crossed her fingers for no problems and she was blessed..finally. once she drove up to the mansion. The person came to check her ID, her invitation, and everything. She wasn't expecting it to be like this,bit she was still starstruck about the fact they all would live in there for the learning period.

After she parked in the designated garage spot she went to go ahead and sit in the sitting room.

Did they mean living room or something ? It's literally the same thing,but whatever" she thought as she walked inside the big mansion.

The person told her that she would get lost if she roamed around...the thought was definitely tempting. She will get lost later after she meets everyone anyways. She walked into the room and waved to everyone that was there. Seeing their faces on a phone screen versus real life was weird. She liked it though!

"Hey everyone, I made it out alive" she joked sitting next to, who she suspected was Vinnie considering his little monkey's. One even leaped into her lap, she was surprised,but pet the little one with her index finger as they didn't seem like they wanted to go anywhere. "Oh no, it's quite alright Vinnie" she laughed lightly and look at him. "I think she likes me anyways, don't you?" She said with a light smile. "How was everyone's commute anyway? Greg? With you puking and all-" she tried to lighten him up if he wasn't already down in the dumps since Auguste is here and they seemed to have tension.

Gregorio

Greg hated long drives. If he could've bought a plane ticket, he would've. But his mother insisted that the gas prices would still be less than a plane ride. And she was right. No matter how much Greg wanted to argue, it was undeniable that she was correct. His mother and sister decided they'd vacation in Malibu after dropping Greg off -- nothing extravagant, mind you, they couldn't afford anything outrageous. Just a day or two at a hotel. Greg wasn't sure if he'd ever even been on vacation.

They pulled up in front of a mansion. The biggest house Greg had ever seen, probably. Though he supposed it was being shared. More of an apartment building, maybe. Well, no... Ugh. Thinking about it too much would give Greg another migraine. On the way over, his crippling fear of house fires already had him spewing his guts in front of a Sunoco gas station. His mother told him he needed to stand up for himself a little more, which didn't work very well for him. Now there's a fucking Slenderman probably coming for his ass or something. Which he apparently wasn't supposed to say, because admitting your fears is EXTREMELY offensive to Slendermen.

But for all of the wisecracking he did online and in his head, it was pretty meaningless. He couldn't fight. If anything got started, he'd probably have his chubby little neck snapped like a toothpick. And he couldn't just go home after all of this driving.

Now he found himself sitting in the mansion. Everything felt so opulent. So excessive. Greg wasn't sure if he'd ever seen this much expensive furniture in one place, except the few times he'd driven past an antique store. For the half a second he'd zoom past in his car, so many faded memories would cast shadows in his mind. He was sure he'd accidentally slipped them into some of his stories. This room, too, could one day find itself reproduced via prose, at its very purplest.

Suddenly, a figure. Greg had to crane his neck just to find the man's face. But he recognized it immediately. Though it was no longer obscured by the pixelated lens of his mobile phone screen, he recognized it. In real life, Auggie couldn't smile. He could only grimace. Greg tried to return the grin, but his ended up looking... twisted and anxious. Then, Auggie turned away. His hunched figure, staring off into the distance, was reminiscent of a gargoyle perched on the corner of an old French cathedral. Greg could almost picture the horns growing out of his forehead. Then, suddenly, he was faced with that same, grimacing smile. He once more tried to replicate it.

"The d..." He coughed a bit, clearing his throat. After almost ten years trying to alleviate his stutter, it still wouldn't go away. "D-d-drive. Right." He had a slight accent himself, hinting at his roots that peered just above the earth's equator. "It was, uh, long. Very l-long. How, um..." He licked his lips a bit. "How'd you get here again?" He could feel the claws closing in on him. Asthma. He was having asthma. He'd have to scoot off and quickly use his inhaler once this conversation ended.

Assuming he doesn't die first.

Seeing everyone walk in, he was definitely astounded to encounter the various characters. Now, he was no stranger to odd characters. Baseball players came in all shapes and sizes. It was also common, for various prospects and teammates to be recruited from different countries. One of the top pitchers for the yankees was from australia. Japan produced top tear talent every year as it is one of the countries which had a massive baseball fanbase. Many Carribean islands like Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico also produced exceptional talent year after year.

However......seeing a couple of monkeys? crawl on someone was something else. Not to say he hasn't seen some players go mad and buy exotic animals. But its something else to let them crawl on you with other people. He shook his head. It did seem to distract from the drama. It was something he learned on the road. Drama can kill a team dynamic. It was best to put it aside for whatever task was at hand.

Turning, to find someone to talk to. River seemed to sit down right near him. Deciding to strike up a conversation, he started talking.

"Hello River. How was your ride in? It was definitely busy but hopefully it will calm down as time goes on. Did you need any help with getting set up?"

He hoped he could seem helpful as he got the conversation rolling. He was sure River would be an excellent conversation partner, as he remembered from his time on Twitter.

Auguste

Auguste looked at Greg up and down. From the position that they were sitting, Auguste was staring down at him, still rather hunched over. Couldn’t he have sat somewhere else? Anywhere else other than next to the ex-ballet dancer. That would’ve been so nice if they could’ve done that.

Greg was a special kind of dick that only really appeared when he was safely behind a screen. Calling him all kinds of insults until he realized that he was being mean to a supposedly physically threatening person that was going to live with him for the next couple of years if everything went smoothly. Which… well, he’d seen enough two-faced jackasses like Greg to think that the guy wasn’t beyond a bit of professional sabotage. Best stay away from him.

He had a stutter. Alright, he used to stutter quite a bit until it was beaten out of him. Auguste didn’t really mind, especially by appearance. It was just Greg’s entire fucking personality that drove him insane.

“How’d you get here again?”

“Flight.” Auguste said with a shrug. That was all the information he had to give his fellow student, after all, it wasn’t like he was the one with the agenda. He just wanted to be left in peace and quiet.

“Legs cramped?” He asked, equally as politely. He didn’t really want to continue the conversation, but it was the polite thing to do. Keep this trainwreck of a conversation going until it became less weird (it was totally weird).

He drummed his fingers against the arm of the chair. The ballet dancer hated this weird small talk thing. Especially with someone like Greg of all things. He wished for someone that was actually skilled at things like this. His job back at the Royal Ballet was to grin and smile. Not say too much because his accent was “unseemly” and every now and then glower to seem more dangerous than a kid who nearly threw up trying to swat a mosquito because it reminded him of bones crunching beneath his fists.

He was not having a good time right now.

“From… the drive that is.” Auguste added on rather hastily. “It seems long from the Texas, no?”

N/A

The mansion wasn't dead silent for too long before people were beginning to file in. Micheal was the first to enter, giving Cruze a quick greeting, in return, he bobbed his head in acknowledgment. In Cruze's mind, this all was so unbelievable. Was he awake or dreaming? It was nearly impossible to tell. He could have sworn this was the stuff that only ever happened in dreams. It was hard to leave Cruze speechless however this did it for him.

He continued to stay seated where he had been since he walked in. It was a strange occurrence for him not to reach out to someone to socialize with, but he was sort of just taking it all in; the people, the voices, the room, just everything, and anything. There was River with his pink hair all punked out, Micheal with his very clearly sport build, Auguste with his uncommon type of tall, Vinnie with his 'pets??', Amethyst who to know what she wanted the moment she entered the room, Leona who just seemed to be a pet magnet, Greg who looked to be doing the best, etc.

All these people that he still had so much to learn about, and guess what this was just the beginning. Cruze had all the time in the world to get to know ever one here. He didnt even want to think of when the day came that there time at this program ends and they are sent back into the world. For now all he wanted was to liver here, in this exact moment.

Was now an appropriate time to quote Albert Einstien, ehh screw it! 'Life is a preparation of the future; and the best preparation for the future is to live as there as if there were none.' and Cruze would be sure to stick to that over the time they all had together. For now he was just observing everyone in the room. Even if this was probably the time to be greeting people for now he just wanted to watch.

It was awesome to see all these people from all different places, backgrounds, and unique to themselves be brought together. He had heard many stories from his gandma's time here but with how things are now he might have believed that the unique traits were going heavily missing. Which actually leads his mind to wonder how the person or people behind selections mange this.

It was a mystery that most likely was never to be revealed.

TL;DR River gains a friend.

River

River smiled at the almighty Thor seated next to him. It was a fitting name, after all. Michael was a bigtime baseball player struck down in combat but taking the enemy down with him. And also they both swung heavy things in order to win. Also the fair skin and blond hair reminded him of the Norse to begin with. Fairly straightforward naming process.

The metaphor was there, you just had to dig around a bit.

The poor athlete-turned-actor certainly did not know what he was getting himself into when he decided to strike up a conversation with River. Asking him how the ride was and if he needed help settling in.

“Greetings o thundering Thor” River began. He talked breezily with a bit of a rocker’s rasp to his voice. There was a rhythm there, almost like a melody.

He also acted like this was a completely normal way to greet someone. It was not. But it was just the beginning of the singer’s complete nonsense.

“The journey was swift like as the crew sailed on home with captured wind.” Nailing the whole ‘normal conversation’ thing River. You’re doing fantastic. “How goes your journey to the flame that lights our hearts?”

His head tilted. That was definitely supposed to be a question directed towards Michael.

“Also, your offer, mighty Thor, will have to await as we become enveloped in the fire.” Slightly alarming, but this was fine. “Your poor sinner has a bit of luggage, but Atlas has decided to allow him to carry the weight of the world and his luggage.”

Yep. Just a normal conversation with River.

Michael Strassman
As the word sallad came out of River, Michael couldn't help but smile. If you listened closely, it almost seemed melodic. And that voice! He definitely should have been in radio. Thankfully, his literature class had supplied him with this metaphor. He smiled broadly.

"I think your going soft on me River. Fire is knowledge. From the greeks right? I think I'm getting the hang of this. I will say, this time it took me a few moments to remember that. Never change man. Never change. I swear decoding your statements are the most fun I've had in a while."

He laughed a bit at that before getting a bit sad. Honestly, he hadn't had much fun in a while. Some of his teammates had seen him afterwards but the schedule of play made it hard. At over 160 games played in a season, constantly flying across the country, the lives of players could be described as extreme. So he understood as the well wishers and visitors slowly trickled down to nothing. His mood had also left as he slowly withdrew inward. And since his big break he hadn't really talked about it with his friends.

"Guess I haven't really talked with anyone really in a long time. Honestly, just talking to people is what got me on twitter. Im not really a social media guy myself. My whole life was baseball and all. But honestly, just having fun with your words has really made my day. Talking to all of you guys has been great.

Anyway, its alright about the luggage. Hopefully, atlas over there eases up and relaxes while we're here. You can't worry about the whole team. You've got to let everybody due their job and if you do yours itll work out. You win some, you loose some, and sometimes you're just rained out."

He laughed a bit before frowning....huh....guess atlas just kind of slipped in......

"I appreciate the Thor thing though. You dont know what that does for me. I'm definitely not the best batter by far and their are loads more powerful hitters than me. But I appreciate the compliment."

Definitely better than patient. Or the guy on the injured list.

qunqun qunqun

River was absolutely delighted with Michael. Perhaps he was just a bit rude when naming him Thor - more muscles than brains. After all, he seemed to be understanding what he was saying so far. Though, Thor had made a grave and critical error in his understanding: River did not speak this way in order to confuse and obfuscate deliberately. River just did it naturally. He’d thought it’d been fun and kind of funny to do as a kid, and the habit simply grew up with him.

That is to say, it was natural for him now to just speak in riddles. He didn’t do it maliciously, it was simply a thing he did. If other people didn’t like it or were confused, it wasn’t his issue. People usually figured it out after a while anyways. Essentially, what he was saying was “Get Good Noob.”

“Ah but to fog the mirror is not the objective.” River said with a shrug and a toothy grin. “Man’s best feature is adaptability, perhaps the thundering god has simply become accustomed to your poor sinner’s speech.”

River paused, a little tilt of his head as he heard Michael’s views on his speech. Puzzles were fun, and he seemed to be enjoying himself. That was good at least. He liked it when people could understand him - even more when they didn’t treat decoding his language like a chore.

Though, from what River could understand, Michael had a very idealistic view upon the world.

“But the world-holder’s nature is to shoulder the world in isolation. The mighty Aesir would do well to remember that when speaking to the titan.” River said with a little glance at his “friend.” He was fairly certain that Auguste thought of him more as an acquaintance but… well… Auguste didn’t really have many friends here. River was going to be his lil safe space. And coming on too strong… River felt that that might actually end up scaring the ballet dancer off

People had surprised him before though… Maybe River was becoming just a little bit too jaded.

“You’re so very welcome, Thor. The metaphor fits the hand like a glove. Does the thundering Thor have ink in his calendar for the day?”

Michael Strassman
He smiled, as river talked. "Fits the hand like a glove huh?" He smiled as he looked away before thinking a bit.

"No I don't have much planned for today. I'd assume we'll all get started on whatever they plan for us to do here pretty soon. The guy who was here earlier should come back in a bit." He glanced around failing to see him then turned back to River.

"But I'll make sure to remember that. Hopefully, Atlas will find what he's looking for here. I know for a fact that quite a few teammates carried lots of burdens on their shoulders. Some of my best friends came from families that were dirt poor. I knew one guy on our team Tommy Pham. Raised dirt poor, first Vietnamese player in mlb since 2006. But he was so stressed because his performance kept slipping. For years he was struggling and beating himself up because of his poor performance. Eventually he got checked out and he found out he had a problem with his vision that was affecting his hand eye coordination. Had a rare eye disease but thankfully, he was able to get help and had a big comeback and major success on the team. But when he was low, he really carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. Especially since his salary was going to support him family, his mom especially. Thankfully, he was able to come back. I always knew he had greatness in him though. A lot of people doubted him when he was struggling and told him to quit. But I'm glad he didn't, he's one of our best players today.

I think your Atlas has got the goods in him. I mean he wouldn't be here if he didn't right? I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't have picked us to go to a place like this. And I'm sure you could come up with a million people more talented. But we're here. And that's got to count for something right? I know for sure we can do this. We just got to figure this out and I'm sure we'll have success."

Vinnie laughed slightly in response to Leona's comment. "Well seeing as 30 seconds ago she had no interest in letting go of me... yes I think she has taken a quick liking to you." Well that or because he told her she couldn't do it, but he really didn't want to say that. Also, she was being clingy to him not too long ago, Vinnie actually believed what he said was right.

Then Leona brought up Greg's little puking incident which caused Vinnie to purse his lips tightly. If he wasn't ghostly white, to begin with, he is now. Vinnie knew damn well his torturing was the reason behind it. Maybe he should have shut his mouth long before that but the problem was... VINNIE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO SHUT THE HELL UP! Greg's answer seemed really hesitant, he was stuttering like crazy. He also looked like he was on the verge of death.

'Ah shit we're killing Greg, that is just great. Turns out a murder is actually going to happen and it's going to be 2nd degree, LAME! At least make it exciting.

Did he really just think that? Yes and for the love of living it would be very stupid to get him the time of day to plan out an actual exciting murder. Maybe just don't give him the time of day at all. Vinnie bit down on his lip hard enough to make it bleed a little before speaking. "Uh yeah... sorryyy about that Greg. Jeez the guy actually did not look to be doing too well.

Vinnie's attention was drawn back to Rascal when he felt the small weight and warmth of him vanish. It wasn't too hard to locate him as he climbed in Leona's lap to join his sister. "Well looks like you won over both of their hearts."

With the knowledge that all 3 of his fur babies were safe, Vinnie glanced around the room. His eyes catching on Auggie. At the current moment, he was having a sort of conversation...? with Greg. Even with that, a devious smirk was growing on Vinnie’s face. The temptation of just call Pretty Boy over to Auggie. He had to resist though. Vinnie said he would stop, he had to respect that.

Looking from Auggie to Greg, Vinnie began shaking his head. Auggie was going to kill the dude. At this point, Vinnie wouldn't be surprised if Greg just dropped dead. Sure Greg was a dick, but Auggie wasn't that much better from what he has seen. Auggie seemed like a blunt asshole. So as of this moment he could care less about pissing off Auggie. Vinnie would rather not see another person die. "Dude, Auggie let up. Your gonna kill him."

"He who fears he will suffer,

Leona was a little regretful bringing up Greg's car ride. She didn't know he would respond like that. "Well.. at least you're okay now. That's all that matters" she said petting the small monkey that was clinging on to her. That's when Leon's saw the other adorable monkey's climbing up her legs. Leona was fully enjoying this moment, her eyes were sparkling and big as her touch was delicate to all 3 of them. "Yes I can see that. I truly don't mind of course" she said feeling a bit giddy.

She had looked around to see who else she hasn't yet said anything to. She saw the baseball player Michael talking with the poetic River. She figured she wouldn't interrupt. Who else could she say hello to before everyone got settled?

She set her eyes over to Cruz. He seemed a little nervous so she opened her mouth as her fingers never left her furry friends. "Cruz, how was your commute here? Was it alright?" She said softly, trying not to startle anybody or make them have an asthma attack, sorry Greg.
