[Idea]

Up until almost a decade ago, magical girls were hidden from the world. Each generation´s guardian selected a group of girls worldwide to fight , if they chose to, against the "apparitions". To do this, a magical girl would allow herself to be possessed by a magical entity for the fight´s duration. This proved to be, however, insufficient, as a particularly powerful apparition appeared and caused such massive damage to several cities, that hiding them or the magical girls was no longer viable. Furthemore, the magical girls were almost extinct in that fight.


When a new generation of magical girls was created, the requirements had become a little more loose. Furthermore, since magical girls remained the ideal way to fight against the apparitions, they received support, with technology being developed in cooperation with the latest guardian to improve the abilities of magical girls. To account for the lack of the former purity and righteous ideals, magical girls were given quotas to fulfill, but their acts made them heroes, celebrities.


A divide spawned with magical girls rising in status. The support and number of magical girls made it so over time, some (even magical girls themselves) began seeing their actions as performances. Publicity , broadcasting, even magical girl tournaments were created. But in spite of all this, magical girls retained their status in society: Apparitions kept coming and the only ones that could defend humanity from them were magical girls.

Society and Lore History


A brief history of magical girls up until today


- Magical girls were hidden from public eyes, selected with extreme care to assure ideals of justice, peace and love, which were strengthened with the bonds of friendship to toher magical girls and by the specific tasks they were given to better themselves.


-A CP7Hfantasy (c for causer, P for panic) apparition was formed, and destroyed four cities in a day, before the magical girls finally managed to take it down. In spite of the low amount of casualties thanks to the efforts of weaker magical girls who helped the evacuation, the magical girls were revealed to have been critically injured by this foe, proving they wouldn´t be capable of facing the predicted even stronger foes.


-MGCU is formed as the entire world is excited and also fearful about the newfound phenomenon of magical girls and apparitions.


-The guardian of the magical girls joins forces with MGCU and they create magitech. Magical girls are selected in much greater number, as the need to pick them for their kind of ideals and the need for secrecy begin to fade. The world seems to rapidly improve as apparitions are dealt with rapidly and with little to no damage.


-rumors go about about the MGCU and others about the magical girls, While both groups agree this is an attempt to strike at the rapid grow in status of the magical girls, some in each end up splitting into new factions, some using only technology, others the old magical girl powers.


-people begin to realize the divide in the society and start acting more according to it. Magical girl composed governments are formed in each Continent, sometimes more than one, seemingly of roughly equal authority to the regular governments, with MGCU closeby

Government


The Government is the name attributed to the international organization MGCU, given after a polemic with a series of newspapers claiming the organization might be pulling the strings on a number of politicians and were gaining more and more political and military influence.


The purpose of MGCU is to monitor the activities of the magical girls and to aid them in the war against the apparitions. They were funded after the massive destruction caused by a particularly powerful apparition revealed the existence of magical girls and how powerless they could be when facing certain foes.


MGCU trains magical girls and assures them shelter, food and drink. They also provide the magitech and refine the fuel that is later distributed and it is them who set the quotas for the magical girls to re-supply their fuel.

Apparitions


What are these enemies of the magical girls?


An apparition are beings of varied shape and consistency, thought to be related to cria or the magical entities, however this is not confirmed. Their exact reason to be formed is not known either, and thus all one can do is fight them. Upon defeat an apparition dissolves into cria which disappears.


There are several levels of apparition, one through 9, based on the amount of damage they can cause at once, and the same number of letters for what they can do over time. Sometimes they will be given a genre´s name, if they present a particular kind of cria, which is rare. In front of the name, one adds the initials which of it´s feeding type and what it feeds from.


Tracking down an apparition´s power tends to be relatively easy once it is used and visualized, being that every magical girl has this ability. However, the same doesn´t go for FINDING the apparitions.


Apparitions are able to multiply even during combat. During an attempt to multiply, an apparition will loose mobility and begin to swallow, If allowed enough time to reach it´s limit, the apparitions will explode and shower over an area that depended on it´s initial power. Do note that an apparition´s fragments can go through physical things and that an apparition is never entirely physical: hence the need to fight it with magic. Even if in process of multiplication, however if an apparition is destroyed before it reaches it limit of swallowing, it will not multiply.


An apparition feeds off human minds and emotions. However, most apparitions specialize in a certain kind of emotion or part of the mind in their feeding.


There are two feeding types of apparitions. One which can directly suck out what it feeds and another which must create it. Contrary to expectation, the later is the most powerful, as it has the hardest means to feed.
