~Character Application~

Have you read all the details?Steady on, eager adventurer! Ensure you've read all the other tabs before you turn to this one! You can access them via the links above! Exclamation marks galore!

In Magicborne, each player shall primarily play as the remaining twin, left to deal with the consequences of their sibling's capture and thrust into the dangerous quest to locate them - so for them, fill out a main character form. Here's a couple of pointers for you. The idea is that our characters start relatively weak (as is reflected in the starting stats), growing stronger as the RP goes on. So please make sure your characters are planned around the potential for development. The twins can be either identical or non-identical, same gender or different gender - both options would be interesting to explore! Similarly, all of our characters were born in Bordissa, and either work and live there, or must have good reason to be back visiting on the day of the kidnappings. I won't tolerate cookie-cutter characters, so ensure your characters aren't one-sided.

That said, you'll notice the main character form is not alone. During the intermissions between chapters (and during the opening scene), we will also be playing the other twin. They count more as secondary characters, and whilst we'll be playing them occasionally (and they're incredibly central in the plot!) they shouldn't be considered your protagonist, as is reflected in the lesser content of the twin form. Twins may have different magic veins (as remember, veins are down to personal choice!), and you do not need to fill in a stats section for them. There's also a third form, a writer introduction form. Please DON'T fill this in until you've been formally accepted into the RP; once you have, please edit it into your post (and you might also want to post it in the OOC!) The idea behind this is to get to know each-other a bit better before we start writing, as we'll have more fun as friends/fwends :D!

To apply, please simply post your completed form down below! When you've done so, I'll give it a good look and then PM you with any edits I might require. Don't be afraid of this, this is just to make sure we're all on the same page. Once you've completed your edits and informed me, if all is fine I'll then formally accept you by liking your post, and then we encourage you to hop on over to the OOC page, post your writer introduction form and start planning out your character's relationships with other characters. If your form is nowhere near my expectations, sadly I'll be forced to outright reject you, though we wish you luck and happy writing elsewhere in a more suitable tale for you!

~The Stats System~
Credit to welian welian for inspiring this!

'Ah, numbers!' cry a chorus of mortified writers. Fear not - the system is relatively simple. The stats system is in place for three reasons: firstly, to balance people's battle abilities; secondly, to provide reference to the strength and abilities of enemy NPCs; and thirdly, to provide and encourage a sense of progression. It relates SOLELY to combat scenarios; you'll notice there's no defense related stats as taking damage is entirely up to your own common sense and creativity. At the end of each chapter, each character will be given an extra four stat points to use at their behest.

There are a total of six stat categories, with values ranging from one to nine. One is the lowest possible, nine unnaturally high, with four as your average Joe's rank. Each characters will begin with a maximum of twenty points to spend, with no more than six in any one stat - this cap will be gradually increased as the RP goes on. Here's a brief description of each stat:

Technique
Your character’s ability with a weapon/weapons of their choice, as detailed elsewhere in the relevant section of the form, be it bow, sword, etc. or a made up medieval-style weapon. Guns and gunpowder related weapons are not allowed. As you need a soul to use magic, there is no such thing as magical/enchanted weapons, though people do sometimes channel magic through weapons, especially if constructed from Mananite (and weapons can be charmed by a charmer). The higher the Technique value, the more comfortable and skilled the character is with their weapon. One would mean not knowing how to use any weapon; four would be your average person, reasonably competent though relatively inexperienced in actual combat; six would be a low-ranked soldier; and nine an unrivaled prodigy.
Physicality
Your character’s physical fitness, including their stamina, endurance and muscular strength, allowing them to last longer in combat and use their power to their advantage. The higher the Physicality value, the greater these qualities become. One would be a complete weed; four your average tradesman; six your standard Protector; and nine basically a medieval Dwayne the Rock.
Intelligence
Your character’s combat wits, including strategic knowledge and ability and general worldly knowledge. A character with high intelligence might be well-versed in battlefield tactics, alongside knowing enough about the world to identify materials and locations which might prove helpful - somebody might have read all sorts of war stories but have no combat experience, and hence they would have a strong intelligence stat in spite of weaker technique/physicality stats. One would suggest an entirely inexperienced recluse; four would know the combat basics competently; six might be well-knowledged in general society and beginning to intentionally employ unorthodox battle tactics; nine would be a strategic brainbox.
Perception
Your character’s awareness in the heat of combat - their ability to keep tabs on their immediate situation and respond with adaptability, spotting openings, staying on their toes, and keeping a cool head. The greater the perception value, the greater their propensity for the above attributes. One might be completely lost in combat; four would be able to act semi-fearfully on wit and instinct; six would be able to keep their head and spot some openings; nine would be entirely unafraid and an on-the-spot genius.
Aptitude
Your character’s proficiency in handling magic. This magic falls into a single vein as described in the magic section of the form, where we also expect a little detail concerning their abilities and experience. A higher aptitude value indicates a greater proficiency and capacity to use magic without detrimental affect. One would be entirely untrained, two the bare minimum to survive and infrequently use magic; four your standard tradesman able to use magic sensibly but not for extended periods of time; six a low ranked soldier’s level, able to use magic combatively with a greater capacity than normal; nine an unmatched legend.
Fortune
Your character’s luck, according to the fabric of magic itself. Luck and fortune are very much scientific reality in this world, and your characters find themselves affected accordingly - a higher fortune value indicates higher general luckiness. Here, four would be a completely neutral standing, with three/five ever so slightly unlucky/lucky, all the way down to one as a disaster magnet and up to nine as the kind of person who’d win the lottery multiple times (if there was a lottery in this world, that is...)

The Character Forms!

The actual forms are below, accompanied by some guidance on what I expect from each section. I'm not great with coding, so if you want to fancy up your form feel free, just make sure it's still easily navigable!

Though we have began, this RP is currently open and accepting, and will be so until the end of the first chapter! So don't be afraid to drop in an application!

Main Character Form!

Name:
Full name! Generally I've gone Latinate/Italian sounding names for Nortalians, and Hebrew-root names for Meridanians (though you're free to be flexible with that!)
Age:
Either 18/19 given they were all born nineteen years ago.
Appearance:
Include a picture (either realistic, anime or drawing is fine with me!) and then at least a paragraph of description! Include your character's height, and other stuff such as hair colour, eye colour, clothing, physique, etc!

Personality:
At least three paragraphs describing what your character is like, complete with both strengths and weaknesses.
Tagline:
A snappy little sentence of no more than six words which encapsulates your character - for example, 'The Hardy Hunter', 'The Man Without a Plan', or 'Misfortunate Incarnate', etc.

Code:
[side=right][sh]Stats:[/sh]
Edit the bars to allocate your stats: each character begins with twenty points to spend, with no higher than 6 allowed in any one stat. Copy and paste the shaded and unshaded boxes accordingly (and feel free to colour them in!)

[/table][/side]
Backstory:
At least two paragraphs - it doesn't need to be all doom and gloom and tragedy necessarily though as our characters will have lived fairly regular lives (albeit in a highly irregular world). Include your character's current occupation.
Acquaintances:
Most of this section will be gradually filled in after you are accepted. Use the OOC to discuss with other players how your characters might know and think about each-other, as remember all of our characters were born in the same year in the same rural community, so connections are highly likely! Please also fill this section with relationships to family members such as their twin

Magic Vein:
Your character's chosen vein of magic: see the magic section! Also add a brief description of their common uses of it, and their capabilities.
Weaponry and Inventory:
Does your character own/know how to use a weapon? What do they carry around with them normally? (or what will they take on the journey?)
Skills, Interests and Fears:
Fairly self-explanatory - at least one paragraph!
Other:
Any miscellaneous details!

Notable NPCs

Along our travels, we will encounter a number of additional characters. Whilst combat enemies and random people like street salesmen can be controlled by you, there are a number of key NPCs who'll be involved in the plot and who will be controlled solely by either me or Semblance Semblance . Here's another cheeky accordion for them!

King Auxis Gazam of Nortalis
The Gazam family is the long-standing royal family of Nortalis, situated in their castle in the capital Salarch. Auxis himself is a fifty nine Ignal as per kingly tradition, and has been at war with Meridania almost immediately since he came to the throne twenty-six years ago after the Seer Crisis. A younger Auxis was horrified to find his soul declared tainted at a visit to an Assemblant seer in spite of regularly practicing his incantations. He then lead an almost city-wide inquest which discovered everybody was suffering from the same problem. This lead the king and his senior scholars to conclude that some sort of dark curse must have been placed upon the entire nation, with spies in Meridania reporting the corruption of their current Lekheyr. In order to save his people from this purported curse, the king launched a full bloody military assault on Meridania, which has continued to this day. A tall and foreboding man, he largely keeps himself to high society, save for rare public audiences and visits to spur on army training camps. He has a wife, Queen Tesopa, and five children, ranging from their early thirties to their late teens: Victor, Primea, Mataea, Ulthur and Mirium.
Lekheyr Chalach Tzarut Meldiyv
The current Lekheyr of Meridania, Nortalians know incredibly little about Chalach Tzarur Meldiyv apart from purported tales of his corruption and his poor treatment of his own subjects. He is depicted in propaganda as a narrow-eyed, deceptively handsome desert-dweller, with long, dark hair.
Duke Cognis Gressiarza
The leading academic at the prominent Salarch University, Cognis is an abstinent Sensorae credited with much of the recent decades scientific process. A man of about thirty-five with swept-back golden hair, he is known for his stubborn determination and general stuttering manner. He is also a man of intensive privacy, though it is known his wife died ten years ago giving birth to his son, Enzo, an incident which has left him frequently traumatized, keeping his son in seclusion until very recently.
The Three Heroes
Folktales spread from village to village about the latest exploits of the Three Heroes, figureheads of the Nortalian army: Fabian Fortagon, the fearless Ignal and son of the king's brother; Quentin Bellia, the collected and strategic Acquarian; and Roburdo Proguer, the short-tempered but heroic Aurval. So many tall-tales have been told at this point that it's difficult to discern the actual characters behind these figures, but these three heroes are celebrity figures and the 'I want to be when I grow up' of many Nortalian children.
Faustus Mordecai
Another celebrity figure known as the greatest magician of the current age, Mordecai is an arrogant Ventant famous for selling incredibly short-term good luck and putting on remarkable shows of his magical prowess at Salarch, both usually for a hefty fee.
Albalocke Duske
A mysterious Protector in Salarch.
Cordelius Fugal
An kindly old man who's lived in Bordissa since the twins were all born. He has always acted as a sort of additional grandfather to the twins, known and loved for his sacrificial kindness to everybody, and for his protective watchfulness over them in their childhood days; he's lived as a sort of hermit as his kindness has generally lead people to repay him with kindness, though this was certainly never his intention! He lived with his wife Cistea who passed away a year ago. He has remained abstinent with magic for as long as anybody can remember, and goes unusually quiet when the topic is brought up. He was killed after a surprisingly personal conversation with the mysterious bandits before they ransacked Bordissa.

~Cast List/Character Database~
Fancy Standing Out?Currently we have 11 players with a variety of different characters! We won't be accepting any more Sanitigion characters due to popularity, and we also have a lot of bowmen, Sensorae and Traslocal folks! How about trying out a more quirky weapon - a pike, or a spear, or the like? Additionally we also currently have no Agrirran characters, and no Ghiacciel, Mortius or Aurval main characters! :D

Below is a database containing some key and interesting information about each character for your viewing needs! If you're planning a character, use it to see what kind of stuff we already have and spur on your creativity accordingly!

Main Character
Name:

Riccardo Avellini (Everyone just calls him Ricky or Rick though, including his parents)
Age:
19
Appearance:
MC5JOzU.png

Riccardo is a man of handsome and dashing looks, offset with a rather muddled head of chestnut hair. His face is rather oblivious looking, having medium sized almond eyes that seem to venture all over the place and a pointed nose that gives him an almost pompous demeanor. Ricky's lips are almost always in a jovial or conniving smirk, rarely ever dipping down into a frown or even straightening up. The ends of his cheek bone protrude heavily, ailing to his striking and almost perpetual smile. Residing on his collar, usually tucked deep inside his shirt, is a set of necklaces each representing different animals and one reaching down to the center of his chest with a brilliant seeming moon emblem, which he believes grants him his natural luck. While the moon necklace is revealed to the public, despite the assembly's demand to keep it hidden, he claims it is a gift from his mother, which it happens to certainly not be.

For clothing Riccardo is no fussy dresser, as long they are able to cover up his charms and keep them from the sight of passerby's, usually wearing his favorite purple shirt that falls down to the top of the legs casually. On the battlefield however, he opts for light metal armour with deep grey trousers and a darker grey cloak. His light arsenal is seen plastered on his chest, usually consisting of throwing knives or small tools. Under his armour he wears several bracelets, each made out of a different kind of cloth or string. Some may have beads, while others may have little inscriptions from shamans (he is convinced they are written by shamans) gifting him with 'spells' that keep him safe

His physique is that of the average young mercenary, fairly well built, designed for high stamina and a balance of power. Ricky is above average in height, ranging at around six foot two and has broad arms fixed onto hardly broadened shoulders.

akEmDCP.png

Worn-out Armour
An old suit of armour that was once a pristine quality wear but now offers the minimum protection and maximum mobility. Its metal breastplate can be seen rusting ever so slightly, but at the end of the day protection is protection. The initials A.A. can be seen scribbled into the left pauldron. The dents are worn with pride and the suit has seen action for many years.

Personality:
"The lucky little fool"
Ricky is often coined as an unusual young man, beaming with energy and optimism. He may slightly come off as arrogant and narcissistic to the people who do not reconcile with him well, but as far as people go, he is rather modest and kind at heart. While his high maintenance nature may alienate some people, his levels of charisma and ability to rally people to a common side are seen as some of his most redeemable qualities as a person. Ricky enjoys to have fun at any point he can, often showing great levels of unprofessional behavior when on the job or in situations that may call for a more serious approach. He enjoys playing pranks, messing with the people around him but he is not the kind of person who would do it in a malicious fashion. When people are feeling down, he is often the first to console them, even if he may not be totally familiar with them. Ricky is especially protective of his brother, who, despite their status as twins, makes sure his brother is not getting bullied and is safe.

Those who know Ricky well will recognize how gullible he is and how quickly he is manipulated. He is often far too hotheaded to properly assess situations and had it not been for his uncanny luck to avoid them, would fall into traps every day of his life. Furthermore, he is not particularly intelligent and a poor reader at that as well, he is more than often obsessed with the end goal that the process on getting to it may be glanced over or butchered. In fast paced situations however, Ricky begins to show signs of development, in situations of fight or flight, he is often able to remain composed enough to make small, proper decisions and can be incredibly bold if it is needed to save his or someone else's life. Many may look to him as fearless, while most may say he is far too idiotic to see the actual danger he is in. Regardless, very often, it is his ignorance that plays to his strength for the most part.

Ricky places high reliance on his uncanny luck, which he contributes to the many charms he obsessively wears and believes he is nothing without. Without his charms, he believes he is worthless and incompetent, clashing with the typical confident and ambitious Ricky people know him as. To add to this, Ricky's life is very routine based, every day he wakes up before the sun and does a collection of extensive exercises that leave him in pools of sweat. He has convinced himself that the moon is good luck and waking up to greet it in the morning before the sun will grant him a good day. Should this routine be broken, Ricky may shut himself indoors or lose complete confidence in himself. Other prominent quirks is making sure he ties his left shoe first always. His disorder has also brought out a slight rebellious nature, as many denounce his use of charms as insane or crazy. This has forced him to hide them or lie and make up stories when faced with a confrontation upon them.

Backstory:

Riccardo's mother was a skilled seductress, on her spare time from work in the tavern she would use her charm magic to bring men into her house where she would rob them dirty. On the other hand, Riccardo's father was a clever, intuitive mercenary under employment of the Bordissian baron as a personal guard. The night was dark and Riccardo's mother, Sylvia was being played at her own game. On orders from the baron, Antonio Avellini, Ricky's father, was requested to investigate a recent influx of thievery incidents. Antonio quickly knew who the culprit was and decided to give Sylvia a taste of her own medicine. Unable to seduce the careful mercenary, she was instead infatuated with the man on sheer charisma alone and spent a rosy night in her own home. Antonio soon discharged himself from the baron, claiming that the life within the town was dull and uneventful and sought employment from Nortalis as a front line fighter against the Meridanians . Nine months later the mercenary got a letter from the new mother Sylvia, who claimed she had given birth to twins: two boys named Riccardo and Sylvio. Feeling the obligations of a father, Antonio moved back into Sylvia's house before properly enlisting, staying with the woman who had given birth to his new sons. For two years Antonio would remain with his unexpected family, but his presence would become one of yearly visits as his involvements with war began to cook up. Once the boys aged six, he was seen rarely by the boys and only visited when his understanding commander, a man with six sons of his own, allowed him to leave the war to check on Ricky and Sylvio. However, this visits were often very short, lasting for at most a week before Antonio was back in the heat of war, sure to send messages whenever he could.

Ricky and Sylvio were once always close. As young boys they would practice the sword together, utilizing skills their father had so proudly bestowed upon them. However, as the two aged, Sylvio became more and more obsessed with magic as Ricky merely took weekly lessons from his mother. Sylvio was governed by a brutal tutor, yet one of great renown who pushed the boy to his very limits. Always afraid of disappointing his tutor, Sylvio became more and more intertwined with water magic, at many points almost losing himself to the vein, but the tutor was always careful enough to avoid this. Under the tutor's guidance, Sylvio became more and more withdrawn from his previous friends and only occasionally socialized with his brother. Ricky began to get worried for his brother as his once physical adversary was now growing weaker and skinnier, he was more than concerned, confused as well. It did not help that many older children saw Sylvio as a prime target for their torment. Ricky would often step in and fend them off for his brother, but it was not rare for Sylvio to come home with bruises. This made the young mage more and more aloof. Ricky tried to convince his brother to quit magic but Sylvio refused and did not appreciate his brother's plight to stop what he loved. By the age of thirteen, those wounds to their relationship had healed slightly, but the brothers were never as close as they were when they were young. This greatly saddened Ricky.

It was by the age of thirteen that his illness began to become a bigger problem. His mother always knew the boy was a little eccentric with his routines of waking up every morning and staying up to abnormally late hours, but she never thought he would get so obsessed with fortune. By the age of fourteen, he constantly wore dozens of charms, necklaces and anything he believed or was told offered him good luck. Merchants would take advantage of this and claim their goods were blessed by charmers to grant him fond fortune, getting a quick buck out of the gullible and desperate boy. The assembly soon got hold of this and demanded that Ricky stop wearing the charms for the bad reputation he was garnering. Obviously obsessed with the idea of fortune, he would cover up charms with clothing, hide them on his ankles or anything that could be done to keep them from sight. When his mother forcefully took them away he would shut himself inside for weeks before she was forced to give in out of pity. His disorder and relationship with his brother posed a slight issue for the boy.

By the age of fifteen, his father, Antonio, had received a debilitating blow on battle, losing his right arm and a series of other less serious injuries. Unable to be any use as a mercenary, he returned back to Bordissa in hopes that one of his sons would take up his fallen pride. Realizing that Sylvio had completely dedicated himself to magic, Ricky was the one he eyed for picking up the torch. With his condition of OCD worsening, Antonio knew it would be wise for the boy to have a job on the side. Under Antonio's guidance, Ricky became a junior mercenary for a nearby band who specialized in jobs that centered outside the war. Hardly successful, Riccardo made a little money and had the slightest of name to him, but Ricky was happy with the new responsibility. Sylvio may have became increasingly absent in his life, but at least he could drown it out in some good old fashion fighting.

Acquaintances:
Mother-Sylvia Valentino (his parents are not formally married)

"Ehhh, ma? Yeah, she's alright I 'spose. Makes me a dinna every night, I appreciate her."

Father-Antonio Avellini
"Pa's a swell kinda guy. Likes to stir trouble jus' like me, but ain't out there admittin' it. He ain't been actin' so swell ever since his injury, gotta worry for th' fella sometimes."

Brother-Sylvio Avellini
"Lil' Sylvy is my mah kid brother, he ain't always so fond of me, but I know that lil' bastard loves me. We's family after all, we stick together when stuff gets rough."

Childhood friend-Adela Rylan
"Adelly 's a nice lil' lass. We's good friends I reckon... After all, she's one of th' few folks who understands whas' goin' in this head of mine."

Friend-Ambrose Culpesso
"Culpessa's ain't too fond of me, but that ain't stoppin' me and my bud Ambrose from gettin' a kick outta life once in awhile!"

Friend/Partner (NPC)-Sicilio Moretti

(Sicilio is a tall, aged mercenary nearing his thirties. A skilled sensory vein user, though the man is brought down by a hidden cowardice. He and Ricky met two years ago and have been working together since. He is notoriously always getting drunk and most think of him as the idiot with the large axe.)
"Damn Sicily is one heck of a bastard at times, but we don't work too bad with each others. I Sometimes reckon he could shut his trap once in a while, might do the fella more good it would do me!"

Miscellaneous Family
Ricky has a large family, most of which live in Bordissa. Their contributions to the character however are not worth noting. His mother's brother has a large family of five children and his father Antonio has a lot of family living all around Nortalis which he has visited on a hand full of occasions.

Magic Vein:
Ricky is an almost pathetic charmer, nothing compared to the child prodigy his brother is in magic. Most of his abilities are inherited and taught by his mother.

Improvement to luck and fortune: Ricky, being obsessed with the idea of luck is able to enhance his ability to avoid situations that may be sporadic and out to harm him. His ability to reap rewards also increases and has a tendency is find money lying on the ground when practicing this form of magic. Should he use this ability for an excess of fifteen to thirty seconds, the opposite will happen. With this knowledge and his fear of misfortune, he rarely utilizes this ability.

Enchantments to weapons: For brief periods he is able to increase the durability of his swords or other forms of weapons and make it so it can withstand great pressure or allow to give greater dents to most armours. He usually uses this on throwing knives so they can harm those who even wear armour. Using this ability he is able to slightly improve his accuracy with his throwing knives and crossbow.

Ricky's ability in magic is meager, but he has shown some ability that he is able to improve in it. Magic tends to be more of a last resort for Ricky, he far prefers to fight his enemies one-on-one with a sword or at medium range with a throwing knife. As his life becomes more intertwined with danger, so too will his ability in magic improve.

Weaponry and Inventory:

Ricky, as a junior mercenary has a little experience in a sword and magic scenario. His ability with a sword is that above a beginner, able to deal a good amount of damage in a consistent matter. As a past time, Ricky enjoys playing darts with his family and friends which has allowed him to transfer this proficiency into the use of throwing knives. Not perfect at hitting moving targets, however he is almost always accurate with standing opposition or angry dart boards.

On his back, he has a medium sized crossbow, a gift from his father to protect him against strong magic users. It is no masterpiece of craftsmanship, however, paired with weapon enhancement, it can be a deadly tool that can counter mages who fight from range. To his side, he uses a typical longsword of cheap but operable quality that is easily enhanced with his magic for short periods. His final weapons of choice is a small leather shield that is able to stop light blows, but if left unenchanted may not grant competent defense against more experience swordsmen.

Ricky's Longsword
A sword of minimum quality. At the end of the day, the blade is sharp enough to do some damage on its own, but against a proper suit of armour it may begin to falter.
latest

Old Leather Shield
An old, blurry leather shield of light design. Perfect for parrying light blows but it is at risk for puncture holes from more refined weapons and their wielders.

heavy_crossbow.png

Crossbow
A crossbow of competent design and craftsmanship. It seems to have plenty of days ahead of it and unlike the rest of his arsenal, is not a hand-me-down.

Skills, Interests and Fears:
Ricky is incredibly talented at darts, a game he has been playing since he has been very young. Before his brother grew weak and his arms grew too flimsy, the two would play all night until Rick would have to prepare for the following day. Nowadays it is not rare to find him playing darts in taverns against those much older than him. While he recognizes and uses magic, ever since the events his brother experienced in the field, he has always been careful with approaching and using it, this has also taken away from the interest in it he once had and has developed into a kind of fear in some sense. Ricky for the most part is rid of most phobias, but he is paranoid of losing his charms, missing his routines or anything that might damage his luck or what he feels might effect his fortune. He often feels unnerved around things that represent bad luck and these very schema may be enough to debilitate him.

His days working as a mercenary have also piqued his interest in adventure and the world outside the lonely town. It is not rare for him to claim that is too boring within the walls of Bordissa. Like father, like son.

Other:

He and his brother are not identical, Riccardo is a little taller than Sylvio and their facial features differ quite vividly. His charms also have no actual effect on Riccardo other than on his general mentality. They are simply apart of his OCD.

(This was written around a week ago in skype. It's just a small snip bit. Just for reference the character I was playing just survived a larger battle but sustained serious injuries. I can write longer if needed to be, but I rarely will ever do anything too excessive.)

Jesse bled from head to toe, the liquid dripping onto all his instruments and armour. He could hardly think straight, his mind was buzzing and all he wished to do was release it with anger. There was no bone in his body that could lift an inch, no skin to lift his blade, nothing that could respond to his mind's demands. He could hear the voices around him, yes, but he could not make out their meaning, recognize any cry of fear. The bleeding man's jaw dropped ever so slightly, a voice creaking out of his mouth.

"Did--Did I get him, is he dead?"

His eyes trailed up to Osman, hardly recognizing the cleric's anxiety. Almost immediately his entire body went numb, he fell to the ground unconscious, feeling the dirt cloud up his complexion before drifting into a deep sleep he had never before felt.

Twin Character
Name:

Sylvio Avellini (Called Sylvy by close friends or Ricky. He doesn't appreciate the nickname unless it comes from his twin, his preferred nickname is Sill.)

Appearance:
Ui3msKakpOwfcJ7_DUg1iO9grP8z7iOJ809yyGYCKsknBTYpEylgVv5Hybit07n5Oax001K46kUvaezWweF9dNnlW7n7rZsNsBfEiRiGBhq6rYaLLKD2v9YufD6BBI-wPNE7PDf1

Sylvio is a small, scrawny young man of especially skinny stature. His face is often hollow and his skin is almost white like a ghost. His face is always very skittish seeming and has the look of a frightened doe at almost all times. Like his brother, he has chestnut hair and almond eyes. Unlike his brother, his expression is often anxious and his eyes have large bags under them, giving him an incredibly obvious implication of sleep deprivation. Carrying similarities to his brother, he has messy hair and his clothing is almost always ruffled.

Personality:
Slyvio is a quiet bookworm, who aside from his brother Ricky, tries to stay clear of others. He is remarked as a kind and studious young man who works hard in what he is interested in. Those who question his motives are often met with an exasperated response, but he often feels guilty if these outbreaks hurt anyone. In comparison to Ricky, Sylvio is the far more mature of the two and is often too serious in every situation. It takes a while for him to lighten up and his naturally low energy does not help.

Sylvio is an incredibly dedicated mage and it seems very often it is all he cares about. He has no issues shrugging off the people around him to spend time studying and his progression in the field can be seen as an obsession of sorts. This draw parallels to Ricky's obsession with his charms.

Magic Vein:
Sylvio is an incredible mage in the fields of water. His ability is almost above adept and is a naturally skilled learner.

Weaponry and Other:
He is unable to use any standard forms of weaponry and carries the bare minimum at all times. He is often seen with a book in his hands.[/Spoiler]

Name: Xander In'ishba
Age: Nineteen
Appearance:
lrhOebU.png
Standing at 6 feet, an air of unfamiliarity could be said to surround Xander, the young swordsman always curious in one way or another when alone and never seeming to sit still for too long. Quite difficult to tell when he's disinterested, he has learned to keep a smile on-hand whenever it may be required. A soft tan sits atop Caucasian skin, various minor scratches and miniature scars spread over his body; a bruise from a stick swung too hard, a cut from a mistake involving the family blade, and so on. The newest of these additions include a pair of carefully worked tattoos, thin vines and chains leading from forearm to middle and forefinger. A single disruption of this pattern occurs upon the left arm, where a shackle sits just above his wrist. A mark shared alongside his sister and mother, the inkings were granted to him shortly after his eighteenth birth date, a gift passed down a few generations on his mother's side. Few strands sit upon his chin, a hint to slowly-growing facial hair. Atop his head, a large amount of dark-hickory locks have been cared for, most of the tufts usually wrapped into a ponytail tied by bandages and tucked by his collar.

Most commonly, he can be found in a soft-grey coat with a darker tunic underneath, a thinner crimson collared shirt sitting between the two. Slung over his shoulder, a scroll bag will usually rest secured with a tightened strap. Simple dark-gray pants are comfortably tucked worn beige boots, scratched though taken care of. A pair of dark-leather gloves are occasionally donned, though stay tucked away by his belt most of the time.

Personality: Not the quietest in a group, though far from the loudest, Xander is fairly lighthearted, though his humor may occasionally veer towards the darker side. The male tends to shrug off most bad blood and tries his best to refrain from harming or getting harmed, though occasionally something gets under his skin and a more stubborn side is revealed, blood metaphorically boiling every so often. With years of studying swordsmanship as a hobby under his mother's guiding hand, he has been learning to control this nasty temper in the heat of the moment, but it will occasionally lash out nonetheless. Xander operates on an "Actions-speak-louder" mindset, and rarely do words without action move him. Well, words from most people, at least.

As curious as he is, Xander isn't all too quick to come to a conclusion when it comes to what knowledge he has, only ever making implications with complete certainty. Much of his time with others is spent gauging alongside communication. Understanding how they think, what their goals truly are, and whatever else he can squeeze out. Even with this habit of gauging, it is rare that the stubborn duelist will ever pull away from a fight. Even if beaten to a pulp, he'll continue to push in whatever way he can, from trash-talking to the raise of a certain finger. A truly fiery attitude, fitting for his vein.

Adventurous and blithe, it would be wrong to say that Xander wasn't cautious in his curiosity, though questions often escaped him regarding the arcane and unknown; not only the casting of magic, but its details. How it effects the world, the possibility of new veins. Far from a coward, his willingness-- Or, well, curiosity, has gotten him into a few messes here and there, as he is not unwilling to sneak into a building or behind a fence to see something up close. Knowledge is power, and to him, it is a gift worth more than most items. Well-informed on most topics involving the opens waters due to a shared interest between him and his mother, he has a passion for tales and legends, as well as other cares such as sailing, hiking, the occasional bit of woodworking, and exploration.

Backstory:

Xander's mother had quite the past as a sailor and, for a short period of time, a privateer. This career did not last all too long, sadly, crew members quitting quite often due to her heritage and leaving her with a ship lacking hands. With that problem to deal with, the woman found herself working as a fisherwoman on the shores west of Bordissa after selling the vessel for a fair price, gaining a steady income which would quite often find her away from home for a few days on end. Upon one of her returns to the town, she had found herself in the company of a local writer, a charming man wearing a coat filled to the brim with papers. Eventually, these two would settle down on the outskirts of the northern land's outskirts, and soon enough, a pair of children were given life.

Xander was somewhat protected by his family due to his heritage once the war had grown to what it was, and it wasn't rare for him and his sister to be lectured about protecting one another, keeping from all too much exploration, and other precautions. While Elizabeth took these words with a solemn understanding, her brother didn't share that feeling, and Xander would sneak away whenever possible to search nearby forests, visit the closest abandoned homes, dig up areas he believed to be troves of treasure and plenty more. With age, he was given his own responsibilities to keep him away from all too much wandering, and it wasn't long until he found work alongside the local smith, a friend of his father's, with simple work such as assistance with polishing and grinding, as well as the occasional minor usage of his Ignal vein. The father himself, now with a family, would soon follow his son into the workforce, writing fading into a more minor job as innkeeping soon took its place. A busy family, to say the least, it wasn't often that the entire group would be with one another. Though, what else was there for them to do other than busy themselves, after all?

Notes soon filling the hidden crevices of his shared room, the boy was caught fairly often to begin with. But practice always did make perfect, and with time, he had learned to successfully slip out of his home to traverse the town beyond, occasionally receiving a beating here and there from those who found his Meridanian blood a bit out of place, subsequently resulting in various scars and wounds over his form. Even with these bruises and lacerations, Xander never complained much about it when he finally did come home. "Perfect," though, was far from what he thought, and in truth his mother would usually dismiss the boy's departure, allowing him to adventure as he desired. He had her spirit, after all. It wasn't as if she wouldn't teach him to properly do so soon enough, though, and within due time and enough beatings the little adventurer would begin carrying his first wooden training sword.

A heavy thing, it matched the rigorous training he'd face with the sailor, a couple hours each day. He'd enjoy some, he'd absolutely despise others, but in time the practice became routine to him, a hobby shared between him and his mother. Where training would really tucker him out, his father and sister would always be nearby with their own written tales and stories. Some about romance, some legends of war-heroes, the occasional tall tale about The First Magician hiding in plain sight, all stories which continuously plucked at a wanderlustful heart. With age came bravery, and with bravery came a larger radius. Xander began taking horses out deeper into the lands, visiting nearby lakes and traversing larger expanses of forest. His notes would fill the hidey-holes and begin flooding his desk and bed, parchments scribbled with sketches and notes. Even with the war still as chaotic as ever at the border of the two kingdoms, Xander's heart yearns to visit the land his mother describes with faint memories of her childhood, the one treasure just out of reach. Maybe someday.

On his eighteenth birthday, the young male had left the family, though he wouldn't dare distance himself all too far from the few familiar faces he had. Keeping within a few minutes on horseback, the young man would find his place within the center of Bordissa as a swordsmanship training and instructor, a fairly decent living. Occasionally visiting his sister whenever her gypsy cart was seen, the woman now travels around Bordissa to use her magic to assist the restless and ill where she can find them. While she cannot heal them, she offers a peaceful sleep, the best that can be done by her. The two have grown further concerned about the physical state of their father, as of late. The man beginning to grow pale with illness to the point of getting an occasional visit from his daughter as a common patient, this has driven their mother to pull away from her work, now spending most of her time assisting her husband in his own career and illness. A more tranquil, sobering life than that which he once desired to have, Xander it's only a matter of time until he finds something to satiate his aspirations. Until then, he had family to keep an eye out for.

Acquaintances:
Searching! Not the best people's person at first, but searching!

Elizabeth In'ishba --- For starters, he shares a close bond with his sister, Elizabeth, and while not much time is shared between them due to mixed interests and travel, he searches for mementos in each trip to bring back for her.

Alexander In'ishba --- While his Father and him love one another, they are somewhat distant as the man is usually holed up in his office when not off with his wife. Speaking of!

Catherine Nellian --- Xander's relationship with his Mother is much closer, and he admires her and the stories of the past she tells. While he's begun to spend less time with her, he takes her words and teachings to heart. Favorite parent!

Rufus Areil --- The first man to take him in as an apprentice, Rufus taught Xander the fundamentals and basics of forging and metalwork, offering him coin to provide for his family as well as a career opportunity and time-consumer.

Lukas Kydale --- Little known about the Santigon, Xander faintly recognizes the man as one who caused a stir some years ago in town, and a bit of empathy due to that fiasco mixes in with feelings of distaste due to Luke's work in the war against his home.

Adela Rylan --- The woman whose mother handles most of the herbs usually bought for his father, Xander faintly recognizes Adela as a friendly face, a passerby worth offering a wave to.

Magic Vein:
Far from the best Ignal magician, Xander hasn't practiced the art all too much due to a deeper interest in swordsmanship and lack of time, but he does wish to pursue more information about the arcane, especially in regards to utilizing it. The most he's used magic for has been the occasional bonfire and tinge of warmth when the nights get a bit too cold.

Weaponry and Inventory:

Where he lacks in magical finesse, Xander makes up for in talent with a blade. Specifically, his family's sword, an heirloom passed down to him by his mother. A bastard sword of silver and steel with a mananite core, polished and worked to a starry finish, great care was taken into its forging, and great care still is taken in safekeeping it. Whenever this can't be relied upon, the Meridinian can trust the push-dagger which sits tucked away behind the neck of his boot. Unknown to most, Xander carries with him a small mirror and file tucked away within the sole of his left boot. Along with these, he usually carries the bastard blade's sheath, a set of lock-picks wrapped up in leather, a few tomes (and quills!), his satchel, dark-brown leather fitting securely against his waist and shoulder, and a waterskin.

Skills, Interests and Fears: What would a character be without 'em! Apart from anything new and mysterious, Xander has an interest in very simple hobbies. Sailing, riding, and tossing a sword around, he occasionally settles for calmer, far more tranquil work such as writing and star-gazing, the latter being a favorite whenever he's found himself still working his way home after sunset. Just like anyone else, Xander has his own fears, things he'd rather keep away from. The effects of magic's over-usage, the loss of his family heirloom, and the loss of family, as well as suffocation and death by either poison or a lack of knowledge that could have kept him going.

Well-versed with most swords after a few years of practice with his mother and sister, he also has a few extra skills under his sleeves. Lock-picking, for one, has helped him get through a sticky situation here and there when the swordsman occasionally comes up against a barrier in his travels. He has a fairly decent understanding of sailing and travel by horseback. Due to a lack of training and interest, Xander is far from well-trained with any bows or crossbows, usually sticking with what he knows best. His stubbornness and curiosity may oftentimes weigh him down, and it is not rare for something to break due to these traits ("I wonder how stable this branch is... / Of course I can climb this tree!"). Talented with mapping, it isn't uncommon for Xander to lose himself in bazaars and large markets for a while, his sense of time easily lost once his interest is gripped.

Other:

While he and his sister share some similar traits such as juniper-green eyes and dark-hickory hair, Xander seems a few shades tanner than his sister. Elizabeth also has a fairly nasty allergy to bees. It's best to avoid them, to say the least.

Name: Elizabeth In'ishba

Appearance:
3fab9df82a8040d3c7fdc19163c1bfc5.jpg

Pale Caucasian skin paring with soft facial features, Elizabeth stands just an inch taller than her brother, skinnier though not so much that it would be considered unhealthy. A lighter shade of brown compared to her brother forms the long hair which drapes down her shoulders, though its color is usually hidden under various dyes; Sometimes black, sometimes white, sometimes red. A light hazel hue tinges her irises, similar to her father's. Usually in some form of dress, she occasionally wears a pair of riding pants and a simpler tunic whenever she finds herself roaming outside of their home or committing to some physical work. As with her brother, a few faint scars can be found here and there from old memories involving other groups.

Personality: While her brother is easy-going and lighthearted, Elizabeth is far more number-based and calculative. Xander appreciates the occasional book and loves knowledge, sure, though his sister carries a far more amplified love for information, and it is rare that many see her without a tome in hand along with whatever writing utensil she can find. Where her brother writes about the world, she writes about its inner workings and her own theories. Cryptic pages regarding philosophy, detailed diagrams of what anatomy she could learn, and an occasional doodle involving constellations correlating with magic along with other far-fetched theories, these are usually kept under a metaphorical lock and key, rarely mentioned unless with her father. A people's person even with this introverted attitude, Elizabeth is a fair actress when necessary, emotions imitated with fair ease.

Magic Vein: A dreamweaver! Elizabeth has quite the love for her magic, and while she tries to limit herself she will occasionally toy with her dreams and produce small tricks to the eye.

Weaponry and Other: The quill is mightier than the sword! Luckily, she has taken a few of her mother's classes before quitting, and understands the very basics of using one. Elizabeth doesn't often carry all too long of a blade, the largest being the one bought as a gift by her father, a plain steel seax tucked away by her hip.

Brief Introduction: Helllo! Let's see, a brief introduction, uh... I'm Synder! Most commonly known by that alias around the internet. A fun little fact, the name actually originated from a very bizarre TS gag resulting in a beautiful typo. I'm a bit of a lore-fan, and have been doing recreational writing for quite some time. Cultures, worlds, and whatever else finds my fancy whenever writer's block fades!

Brief RP Experience: I've been RPing for around... Four years, now? A mix of tabletop and online roleplay, I'd like to think that I'm fairly decent! Speaking of, have any of you ever wondered just how weird an RPers history can get? Recently googled "How to remove blood from a carpet" for an RP and it had just struck me, I doubt most of us aren't on a list somewhere.

Ideal Sandwich: Salami, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles along with spicy mayonnaise, settled between two lovely slices of white bread.

Thalia Whiles
(Whiles is not her true last name but a nickname given to her by select people of the Salarch underworld)

Age:
18

Description: One look at Thali and you would automatically think she is up to no good. A light smirk seems to have taken up permanent residence on her face which is rounded, girlish and light of complexion. Her hair is the colour of burnished copper, short and curling about her cheeks in a feral sort of way. Her moss-green eyes have a sharp look to them, as if she is either sizing you up or guessing how much gold you carry. She is about average height (5’5”) and of a medium build, though it is clear she is not used to eating well. She is thin, though she hides it with loose clothing and broad shoulders. Thali dresses like a boy, with a collared linen shirt half tucked into tight-fitting breeches. A thin leather vest lies over the shirt, torn in places and set with small brass buttons. Her shoes are worn leather with a small heel. Thali carries her dagger on a belt about her waist, the lion-headed hilt oftentimes covered by the untucked part of her shirt. She wears no jewelry or trinkets save for a small copper bangle, mananite stones embedded on the inside of it and hidden from view. Overall one would call Thali quite pretty, though the impression tends to vanish after Thali opens her mouth, and she quite prefers it that way.

  • If one were to guess at her magical inclination, Ignal would certainly come up often. Thali is fearless, flippant and fiery, with a quick temper and a sharp tongue, however she has only gotten as far as she has by knowing when to use each trait. She holds a control over her emotions that was born from blows, learning to be cautious when needed and herself the rest of the time. She can be sweet but it’s usually when she wants something. Thali speaks roughly, and doesn’t expect to be spoken to any better, but despite her oftentimes grating demeanor Thali will look out for you. The gesture will go unnoticed most of the time: a glance over your shoulder, a key in the lock you need open, an apple on your empty plate. Thali will deny every action, but if she considers you a part of her circle there is much she would do.

Her kindness is notable, though she expects a knife in the back much more than she does the efforts reciprocated, this can make her cagey and suspicious and difficult to get along with. If Thali likes you, it’s often displayed by light shoulder punches and gentle (in her mind anyway) name-calling. If Thali doesn’t like you, she’s just as likely to throw a dagger as an insult and will make her repulsion very well-known. If she thinks you are dangerous, you might just wind up dead. Thali’s strengths lie in her street savvy and her practical willingness to make hard calls. She can seem heartless at times and knows it. Some of her choices dog her thoughts on dark nights, but she will never admit to regretting them. She has a good sense of humour (though often it is a bit black) and an appreciation for a decent practical joke, even at her own expense. On the rare occasion Thali does let her guard down she can be playful and a great deal of fun. She has a competitive streak and may challenge you to a simple game, delighting in victory and lording it over the loser, though it’s all meant in good spirit.

Thali fails when she’s forced to watch the suffering of others. Her temper rises and though she will always make the best moves for her team, she can be manipulated through her anger at having to make them. Bringing up her past, or even asking about it is the wrong thing to do with Thali. She has put as much effort into burying it as she has keeping herself and her brother alive. If it is mentioned she is inclined towards extravagant lies, which will change every time you ask. Even as she brushes off what happened as unimportant and long forgotten, the events that led her to become a thief very much affect her still. She harbours a deep-seeded hatred of their father and still misses their mother more than anything. Some nights you may catch her deep in thought, brooding on what happened.

Twin
Name: Alexis

Appearance: Alexis has been graced with his sister’s red hair and green eyes but has a longer face with a slightly melancholic air. His hair is cropped short save for a few pieces that fall haphazardly into his eyes. His nose is dotted in freckles from his daytime jobs by the docks and his hands are rough from manual labour. He has always been slightly taller than Thalia and the broad shoulders of their family suit him much better. Poverty was not kind to Alexis and his tall, lanky frame seems emphasized by the fact that he is also quite thin. He is dressed the same as his sister, in breeches a shirt and a leather vest, though he will argue Thali makes the outfit look much better.

Personality: It is a closely-kept secret, but Alexis was not born a boy. Thali grew up with a twin sister but as Alexis aged, the identity of a girl fit less and less. It was Thali that suggested they dress like boys, to hide themselves from roaming eyes. The role resonated with Alexis right to his core, so when they came of age, Thali helped him bind his chest and adjust his clothing to make the curves disappear. His voice was naturally deeper, so if one met the two side-by side the logical assumption was the desired one. When Alexis is without his sister the difference is still very difficult to unearth, Alexis is effectively male to all eyes but the extremely observant. In character Alexis is almost the polar opposite of his sister. Where she is insulting, he is courteous, where she is forward, he is reserved, where she is cold, Alexis is filled with an overwhelming warmth and caring. Alexis will go out of his way to help and is never beyond self-sacrifice to better the lives of others. He has a mild manner and a large heart. They are so different in fact that Thali often jokes that she was born the ‘evil’ twin, come out of the magical abyss to cause as much trouble as she could. Misfortune incarnate.

Magic Vein: Sanitigion. though Thali forces him to hide it, Alexis practices in secret and tries to improve his gift. He finds it simple enough, though is painfully aware of the toll it takes on his body. He can mend deep cuts to non-vital tissue and broken bones. He has never tried healing a lethal wound however and is not sure what will happen if he tries.

Weaponry and Other: Alexis carries a dagger only because his sister insisted, otherwise he is equipped with a rudimentary healing kit complete with bandages, herbs, slings and suture materials. In addition to studying Sanitigion he also apprenticed himself to a healer when Thalia was away doing her own job. With her he learned many non-magical cures for common ailments.

Writer introduction

Brief Introduction: Name's Silver, I can draw a bit, and write a bit and love doing both. Definitely a high fantasy fan and a true lover of the old tales, from myths to fables. In terms of writing I very much like stepping outside my comfort zone and am always willing to try new things.

Name:
Ambrose Culpesso

Age:
19

Appearance:
full
Spring-faced and at a humble 5'10'', Ambrose carries a sense of youthful vigor to him. His messy blonde hair is usually swept across his forehead with a short braid running down his shoulder, unashamedly sorted by his sister. A glint in his eyes and a smirk on his face, years of assisting his father in manual labour have left Ambrose with a short and stocky frame, broad chested and with muscle lining each limb. His favorite attire is a brown tunic, dull-blue cape and cream trousers, topped with a sturdy set of gloves and boots. Finally, he wears a ring embedded with a mananite crystal, a rare and precious gift given to him by a previous girlfriend, the daughter of a miner. Ambrose carries himself with jaunty mannerisms, a cocksure swagger in his step, and a general melodrama to his movements.

Personality:
To the newcomer, Ambrose immediately comes across as an energetic, easygoing and reckless buffoon. Almost always on his feet, the young man seems to rely on a never-ceasing stream of energy which allows him to be playful, expressive and exuberant with an almost tiring intensity. With Ambrose, there never seems to be a situation ill-befiting of a joke, especially if he's the butt of it, and he has quite a unique and rambunctious way with words - yet whilst he's quick to tease and chuckle, he'll never allow his jibes and jests to push too far, exhibiting foolhardiness, flamboyance and considerateness in equal parts, aided by his general clumsiness and misfortune. His heart may as well be sown onto his sleeve for how much he impulsively fluctuates between mood and idea, and his spotlight-seeking might rub the inquisitive up the wrong way, yet his kindly liveliness makes him pleasant company and a popular member of the village.

Yet underneath this bombastic, rollicking exterior is a more contemplative interior, a man built on fear and insecurity. Surprisingly contemplative for someone seemingly so reckless, Ambrose has an incredibly tough-conscience that naturally presumes the worst of himself and pinpoints blame and guilt upon himself. Like his reclusive father, Ambrose struggles to express what he's really feeling with difficult matters, and also struggles to understand other people, leading to a problematically indirect manner regarding serious matters. And when these matters come up, all jesting promptly fades and is replaced with solemn caution - when the wild moments finish and he has time to reflect, Ambrose will often go deathly quiet. In addition, Ambrose's playfulness is also met with a nasty short-temper and a general defensiveness; if met with something he feels unjust, he finds it very difficult to hold himself back through violence either in words or tongue, and in these moments of foul mood he becomes gruff, unsavoury and stubbornly self-righteous.

To those he cares for, Ambrose shows painstaking loyalty, and mixed with his indirectness and penchant for keeping true intentions to himself, this makes for a fiercely eclectic combination which can lead to some psychologically complicated actions. Since his mid-teens, Ambrose has gradually altered his persona to its current state for the reason of protecting and drawing attention away from his sister, dedicating much of his life only to this simple goal. Whilst a supportive and considerate ally, Ambrose has fundamentally poor self-esteem, viewing himself as a fool, incapable of being well-meaning without screwing something up. In addition to all of these, Ambrose is fiercely competitive in a self-assertive way which can often come across as overbearing. Yet he's generally well-behaved, straying away from any semblance of rebellion (referring not, of course, to our lovely co-GM!) and near-religiously clinging to order and orthodoxy, somewhat at odds with his energetic abandon.

Driven by fear and insecurity behind his fun-loving and quick-witted exterior, Ambrose is a tough case to crack, and a complex and unorthodox figure. And as his precious sister, the root of so much of his personal foundation, is torn from him, this one-time joker could become a very different man...

Backstory:
Ambrose and Celia Culpesso were born and raised in Bordissa, the youngest children of Antonio and Allie Culpessa, an unlikely couple who themselves had dwelt their entire lives in the village. Antonio was the town's chief woodchopper, a gruff and rugged Agrirran who always seemed at ease with an axe in one hand and another axe in the other, chopping therapeutically; his mother, by contrast, was always known as a bit of an oddball, an eccentric and talkative Traslocal who worked as a nanny and a governess keeping watch over the young children of Bordessa by day whilst disciplining them in their use of magic even from that early age. The family was already four strong before their unexpected arrival, with two older brothers called Caleb and Tricaius. Not the first twins to be born that year, the town was filled with bemused joy at the presence of so many little faces and, when the twins eventually stopped coming, concluded that some peculiar twist of fortune must have caused such a bizarre blessing.

With their mummy as the one in charge of the town's children by day, the siblings had the bittersweet experience of feeling like minor celebrities - everybody knew their mother, and by extension them, an engagement with attention that began to shape their characters. Their private life, however, was largely peaceful; on the weekends, Ambrose would join his brothers in aiding his father's lumber-work, whilst Celia would barter in the travelling market with her mother. Like all of the twins, the gentle old Cordelius Fugal took them under his wing, and they especially loved hearing his stories of the bustling big cities. They were thoroughly local people, and life was relatively without hardship accordingly. In spite of everything else, the Culpesso family were amongst the most dedicated attendees at the local Assemblant gathering, though there were a few cases in which his father's temper would flare up and he'd find himself in heated debates with the Uncle about some issue or other.

When the twins were four years old, there was another addition to their cosy clan: a baby girl, Galatae. As the youngest, their sister found herself babied and coddled to no end. Life continued as normal with very little incident. But in the winter of the twin's thirteenth year, the town was hit by an unusually cold front. The men returned home from some strenuous wood-chopping to find Galatae ill in bed with a fever. This wasn't particularly uncommon for a harsh winter, and the family presumed she would improve. But she did not, and instead the girl's condition gradually deteriorated and deteriorated. The family frantically sought help from the local herbalists, and whilst the heavy snows made travel difficult, desperately searched the surrounding towns for a Sanitigion to heal her. But there was nobody; every Sanitigion was on the front line, per government decree.

A week later, Galatae passed away at the age of nine, and the town mourned her passing. That was the first and only time the twins saw their mother cry.

The family was shaken by their loss, and though each family member dealt with the tragedy in their own way, their collective vitality and the support of the village meant things were almost back to normal by the end of the following year. Caleb's marriage was a particularly celebrated moment, but Tricaius disappeared off to military camp in spite of his father's best attempts at dissuading him. Both twins emerged convinced that magic should be used for the benefit of others, and not in reckless warfare. But perhaps the most affected was Celia, who had been the closest to her younger sister. Whilst maintaining her energy from before, she became increasingly bitter, and was subject to moments of solitude and contemplation. Behind her new and frosty front, Celia had decided to abandon her pursuit of Agrirran magic in order of secretly taking up Sanitigion magic. No-one would know, if she was subtle enough - and she certainly had the capability to deceive. The only person who knows her little secret is Ambrose, who discovered her healing a bruise on her face from a nasty barterer one evening. The once lively young woman now spends long periods 'unwell' in bed, a concern to her parents and her neglected childhood friends. But Ambrose understands - he understands it's a necessary ruse, and he knows she's been working behind the scenes on a number of occasions to help the lives of several village-folk. He knows, and in his heart has vowed to protect her.

In the present day, Ambrose has been somewhat at wit's end. Whilst childhood friends and associates have began to mature and settle into the occupations that will carry them through their lifetimes, Ambrose has struggled to grow up. Thus he spends the average working day utilising his magic for various ends, splitting his time between helping out on his brother's farm and assisting his father with woodchopping. His father, in his brief moments of speech, insists that Ambrose must find a direction for his life - for example, moving to Salarch and pursuing his childhood dream, but the young man is having none of it. He wants to remain here, at home, with his sister.

Acquaintances:

~Antonio Culpesso, 48:
A gruff and hardy introverted woodchopper with a stubborn, no-nonsense attitude and an aggravating indirectness. Antonio isn't a particularly public figure, save for attending the assembly each week and making his voice incredibly clear in town council meetings. A man of more grunts than words (Ambrose jokes that he's compiled a 'Dictionary of Culpesso Gutteral Dialect' in honour of his father) with a general distrust of the higher-classes. In spite of his general poor temper and rugged demeanor, he is incredibly loving to his wife, whilst perhaps a little hard on his children. Ambrose currently has somewhat of a strained relationship with him due to his expectation that his son make something more of his life (an attitude Ambrose finds highly hypocritical for someone who's happily lived their entire life in the same town!)

~Allie Culpesso, 44:
An eccentric governess with a playful and talkative attitude, Allie is naturally maternal and gifted when it comes to managing and handling small children. All of the twins will have dealt with her in their early ages, where she would have overseen their daytime supervision, whilst also instructing them on the basics of magic before the main tutor took over aged 10. Allie's approach to mothering later years has been rather more laid back, and whilst she could talk for hours very little of the actual woman beneath her quirkiness is revealed, save for in occasional telling moments in the quiet of her own house. Can often be found making dinner sideways on the wall of her kitchen using her Traslocal powers. The twins feel incredibly comfortable around their mother, although they also recognise they've never truly had a deep conversation with her.

~Caleb Culpesso, 24:
The eldest brother of the Culpesso clan, Caleb is known for his handsomeness and his grin-and-bear it attitude. He developed his mother's general protectiveness and responsibility alongside his father's general quietness, and his much-protested reputation as the token heartthrob of Bordissan teens of a certain age is compounded by his kindly, genial nature. Himself an Aggriran after his father, he married young and lives a happy life on a self-founded farm along with his wife Illexea and their children Thacceus and Gioanna. Caleb appreciates Ambrose's assistance, though finds his bombastic liveliness aggravating - his kids, on the other hand, enjoy nothing more than playing with Uncle Ambrose, an influence Caleb would rather his children not have.

~Tricaius Culpesso, 21:
Somewhat of the black-sheep of the Culpesso family, Tricaius was always a difficult child who resisted tutelage and became intoxicated by dreams of the front-line. Never quite feeling at home amid his gruff father and his quirky mother and feeling constrained by the limitations of country living, Tricaius disappeared off to become a soldier as soon as he possibly could, and has generally done a poor job of keeping in contact with his family. An Ignal mage, chosen after the king.

~Celia Culpesso, 19:
Caleb's twin sister. Like the majority of the town's twins, the two share an incredibly close bond, and Ambrose has always considered himself his sister's protector, even though she often told him she didn't want or need one. Celia is like her father in a number of ways in addition to holding many similarities to her brother, but her greater headstrongness and stubbornness mean she finds it more difficult to care for him in quite the way he does for her. Ambrose has essentially constructed his entire outer persona around his psychological need to protect her and her secret, drawing attention away from her and onto himself through his actions. Ambrose values her incredibly highly, considering her a far better person than himself, though of course he'd never tell her that directly.

Magic Vein:
Acquarian
Ambrose's childhood ambition was to move to Salarch and join the groups of Acquarians in employment there in ferrying people around the city's waterways, and he spent much time even from an early age trying to mimic the control of the water in a bucket on the village pond, though since his mid-teens he has abandoned this ambition. There are a plenitude of jobs for a young Acquarian to perform in a town such as Bordissa. Alongside his regular employment, Ambrose is part of a group of fellow Acquarians who collect water from the nearby river and then use their magic to purify it in order to make it suitable and safe for drinking and washing. In addition, his other frequent application is helping out on his brother's farm by ensuring the crops have enough water. This is enough to take him to his limit each day, and whilst his diligence and experience means he is competent at what he does, Ambrose has never considered using his magic in combat, and nor has he had the need or opportunity. In addition, he privately waters and maintains a lily on the village pond that he has humorously called DEATH (which must be pronounced using that exact accentuation!). Water magic also makes for a natural advantage in summer tomfoolery; and when it comes to summer tomfoolery, Ambrose is adamant that it's survival of the fittest.

Weaponry and Inventory:
After years of working alongside his father as a wood-chopper, Ambrose is proficient in the handling of an axe. However, aside from being trained on the basic technique, Ambrose has always aimed his axe at large tree-shaped objects, and not at smaller person-shaped ones. Whilst his proficiency may lead to him adapting well to using this tool in combat, at present he is completely lacking in combat experience with it.

Ambrose has always liked to pack light, but with leaving in search of his sister to be his first proper time away from Bordissa, he will find himself with a full pack full of random semi-useful items, including his book of Assemblant incantations, copy of The Spellbook, random woodcut figures, a 'special stick' from Thaddeus and some rather gravitationally-confused cakes.

Skills, Interests and Fears:
As a trained and experienced wood-chopper, Ambrose is adept at felling trees and usually not almost landing them on himself. He's also fairly good at wrangling down expensive prices into reasonable ones, thanks to his mother and sister's examples as expert hagglers, and his time around his brother's farm means he has a reasonably good knowledge of agriculture. Having inherited his mother's gift for children, he's great at keeping children entertained (though he's not a particularly good role-model!), and he's also fairly comfortable around animals.

Ambrose considers himself fairly artistic; his main talent is with a lyre made for him by his mother, and his favorite thing to do with it is invent impromptu comical ditties, though he also occasionally plays in the local inn. He secretly writes more serious songs as a way of expressing his emotions, although he is so secretive and embarrassed about it that even Celia doesn't know. After growing up enjoying old-man Cornelius' tales, he also considers himself a writer, though he's actually not that great.

Ambrose's biggest fear is a fear of death. Having seen how suddenly and unexpectedly it can strike, he is horrified by the prospect of losing anybody else, and even more himself. What happens next? What if he's done something wrong, and the First Magician rejects him access to Solaija? Or is there, perhaps even more mortifyingly, nothing? On a greater level than this, Ambrose is convinced that death in itself is wrong, an affect of whatever curse lingers on magic, and suspects this curse exists on a bigger scale than what the war portends. This is the main reason why Ambrose is quite a goody-two-shoes when it comes to Assembly matters, and he religiously, though joylessly, rehearses his incantations each morning before setting out. In the moments when his reckless adrenhiline (perhaps death defiance in itself) runs out, he'll usually turn pale and go very quiet.

Obviously in the threads here too, but here's the last RP I ran, some year and a chunk ago!

~Twin Form:~

Name:
Celia Culpesso

Appearance:
full
Like her brother, Celia has something of a baby-face which makes her look still lost somewhere in her mid-teens, with wide eyes, a button nose, and (self-hated) rosy cheeks. Her blonde hair is normally braided into a tidy net behind her head, keeping it practical and out of the way. Her cobalt eyes maintain a perpetual sense of agitation, so that even her most genial smiles have an intensity to them, which some people find attractive, some people find offensive. As a country working gal, she's muscular enough to carry herself with the same vitality as the rest of her family, and normally dresses in simple dresses and cloaks as in the picture above. Only wields a pitchfork if you rub her up the wrong way.

Personality:

Like the rest of the Culpesso clan, Celia shares a jaunty vitality, normally abounding with energy. A talkative and considerate young lady, like her brother she was a popular figure among the youth of Bordissa. She shares many of the same traits as her brother, but to a greater level - quick-witted, smart and pleasant company. However, unlike her brother, Celia is marked by a strong sense of individualism, and her limitless determination means she'll stop at nothing until she's achieved what she intends to achieve. Stubborn and fiery, she's naturally attuned to pessimism, and is generally non-plussed by her brother's melodrama, though she appreciates and understands why he's like he is. Over the past three years, less has been seen of Celia for frequent bouts of 'illness', and her friends have watched her grow distant and colder from the warmer, lively young lady they once loved. Nevertheless, Celia still makes plenty of public appearances, and is one of the loudest voices found haggling in the weekly market.

Magic Vein:
Sanitigion

Though she was once training in Agrriran magic, Celia went through the difficult process of abstinence and change after her sister died. She pretends to be a practicing Ventent and spends a lot of her time pretending to be unwell in order to hide the fact of her vein. Having to keep her vein hidden means she's not particularly adept, but considers what little she has a worthwhile choice.

Weaponry and Other:
Celia is a staunch pacifist who would quite literally mourn for a fly. Accordingly, she's never trained in any combat or weaponry, and was always disdainful of her brother's play-fighting. She's developed a knack for lock-picking and stealth in order to sneak out of her house and go to the aide of the unwell. Like her brother, she has a reasonably good knowledge of agricultural practice, and she is also artistic, having made a collection of little crafted wooden figures out of the scraps of her father's collection. Ambrose teases them for being dolls.

Brief Introduction:
Hello everybody! I’m your GM and thanks very much for signing up! I’ve been around on RPN for about three years now, and was a fellow (the then-equivalent to helpers) for about half a year, though I’ve been on a lot more infrequently over the last two years. That’s because, in term time, I’m an English Literature and Creative Writing student which occupies most of my time! Aside from that, I’m a keen follower of motor-sport, a pianist, and I’m a Christian :)

Brief RP Experience:
I began RPing I think five years ago when I first read about it on the wiki of a very small old gaming forum. I got very excited and immediately joined the forum to join in. It was a dying community of probably only a hundred regulars, but that meant there was a fairly close-knit bunch of us RPing. We mainly dealt in one-liners and similarly short posts to start with, but it was all good fun! Then, after leaving that site, I found RPN three years ago and have been playing around with it ever since!

Name
Lukas Kydale
Age
18
Appearance
Lukas is a tall(6'3), lean and rough looking individual. He sports black hair with odd streaks of white and grey due to his magic vein. He has rugged looking facial hair which grows spotty and he doesn't bother to maintain. His eyes are an ocean blue color. Resting above them are thick bushy eyebrows. A long scar cuts through his right eye and strikes through his eyebrow.

Although his health is average this doesn't stop him from looking sickly. He has a toned semi-muscular body but his skin is rough and weathered. His hands are tough and callused as well. Often Lukas will wear very conservative clothes that cover a majority of his body. For instance he wears a hood to cover and hide his face. He doesn't like to take chances of being spotted as a deserter.

Although Lukas is only eighteen he looks like he's in his late twenties. This is due to his magical vein which saps him of his youthful energy. The price he pays for healing others.

Personality
Lukas was once a proud, dignified, rebellious young man. However war and death have a way of changing ones outlook on life. Pessimistic is one way of describing Lukas Kydale. No matter what the situation is Lukas can always see every negative thing ten miles down the road. He cares little for life's joys anymore and it takes a lot to turn his sour mood upsidedown. His mind wanders fast and he likes it that way, because if he were to stop and think it's usually dwelling on something of the past. Something hard, sad or painful to think about.

He's a simple person and doesn't really want for anything. The most basic of pleasantries is enough to satisfy him. He moves and talks with a sense of harsh wisdom. He's a sad man and will often find sad topics most comforting. He doesn't ask for pity, he's to stubborn to admit he needs help, but he connects well with those who have suffered greatly like him. Some wonder why Lukas continues practicing Santigion magic. He himself wonders that sometimes and his answer is always the same.

Lukas lost his WILL to care anymore. He just doesn't have any hope or faith in anything anymore. So he doesn't really care what happens to him.

Don't let that fool you though, Lukas does care for others. In a way that's why he continues practicing Santigion magic. Maybe it's because he cares to much? The boy has to tear his heart open just to feel something, anything. And he so desperately wants to feel. He wants his old life back with his sister and family. His love for his family and friends knows no bounds. He'd give anything for them. Whether that be his life or something more extreme, like watching the world itself burn to ashes.

He considers himself a realist and a logical person. His sister was the idealist, not him, always his better half. He lives in the moment and doesn't look forward to the future, because he knows he won't die an old man. For the most part Lukas is very giving, it comes with his line of work, and he is by no means selfish. He may be troubled but the boy still has a moral compass. He will want others to be happy and cared for. He will even do good things for others. It's just he has no real drive or motivation to care for HIMSELF anymore.

Backstory
Lukas grew up in Bordissa along with his nonidentical twin sister Larissa. For the most part they lived happy and simple lives. His father was a hunter/gatherer of food who used sensory magic to better do his job. He was an old tracker for the military in his youth so he was quite skilled in his magic vein. Lukas's mother was a trader who would sell their food, which his father provided, at cheap prices for other families in Bordissa to eat. Everything seemed great in there small little town of Bordissa and that's because it was.

The one thing Lukas's parents did expect from their children however was to help provide for the family. They allowed Lukas and Larissa to do this anyway they pleased. So when the time came for them to practice magic, they both chose something they could use for trade. Larissa was the pride and joy of her father and she wanted to be just like him. So she naturally chose wind magic and helped aid her father on his hunting trips.

Lukas however was a bit more of a rebel and decided he'd become a healer. His father and mother were naturally upset, his father even more so. His father had been to war when he was younger and he knew as soon as the state authorities heard news of a Cleric in Bordissa they'd come looking for him. So they gave Lukas an ultimatum, hide your gift, or choose another. Lukas decided he'd hide his gift and he simply pretended to be a Sensora like his father.

As time went on Lukas would heal any common illnesses and the occasional broken bone. However he always asked to remain hidden by the people he helped, and they'd always comply simply because it's useful having a healer around town. He'd make meager coin for his family by doing this but in the end his parents were always worried for him. They didn't want their boy to be carted off to war and die a young man for a king who didn't care for him. In Lukas's mind he didn't care because he never imagined it'd happen.

One day, however, all that would change. An accident had happened while Larissa was out hunting with her father. Somehow she took an arrow to the gut. Having no other choice and afraid for his daughters life, Lukas's father rushed her to the town square. Lukas and his mother were there selling food at the market when Larissa was dragged in front of there stand. Everyone saw the commotion and gathered round as Lukas made his life-altering choice.

He immediately began tending to his sisters wound. His father and mother helpless to do anything and could only watch. A crowed now gathered and everyone saw Lukas heal his sister and save her life. Authorities gathered soon after and plucked him away in front of everyone. He barely had time to kiss his sister goodbye before he was carted off to war. No punishment was given to his family for hiding his gift, simply because of Lukas's fathers honorable time at war.

At first he was taken to a school were they could test his aptitude for Santigion magic. Lukas, although a boy, was adept enough to move on to the warzone. He spent a couple training just to make sure he was capable. After his time learning and studying Santigion in depth with the military, he was then taken to the front line. He immediately started to do his duty for his kingdom, even though he just wanted to return home. In the end his time away would transform him into a different man.

He spent the better part of a year tending to soldiers, monsters and innocents alike. He saw many horrible things while away. Saved many people and watched helpless as many died. In his eyes it was all for nothing, a waste of human life and potential. He was given a brutal brunt of the work because soldiers look down on a Santigion who hid their powers. They see them as cowards, letting soldiers die while they heal minor sicknesses safe at home instead of soldiers fighting for their kingdom. Lukas, only a boy of eighteen, now looks to be in his late twenties.

He didn't want to die over there for nothing. He wanted to see his family again, hold his mom, talk to his dad, laugh with his sister. So he deserted the army and fled for home. Constantly afraid the military would find and execute him. Little did he know a far worse and unexpected journey would find him sooner.

Sadly, whenever Lukas did return home. Many of his friends and family would not find the same boy that left so suddenly.

Magic Vein
Lukas has spent the better part of a year healing war wounds for Salarchs forces. He's a decently skilled medic and has great aptitude in his abilities. He's great at healing minor scrapes and bruises and common illnesses. He's helped several soldiers heal basic war wounds. Lukas has also saved soldiers from burns and even a few mortal wounds. This has left a sickening toll on the boys once youthful body.

Weaponry
Lukas carries a staff and dagger on his person almost all the time. He's semiskilled with the staff, but the dagger is mainly used for medical purposes. For example he may cut a soldiers trouser's to examine a stab wound in the leg. Additionally he may cut/pry an arrow out of ones body. Lukas's staff has multiple functions and uses. Firstly it helps him walk when he feels sick or weak due to magical exertion. Secondly it's made with hardened wood and the ends, about a foot and a half long, are plated with metal for when things get rough.

He also has a mananite necklace that takes most of the burden from his healing. It is a valuable item and a very personal one. His mother had saved up for a long time and bought him it as a sixteenth birthday present. Inscribed on the inside of the necklace are these words: "Greater love have no one than this, that he lay down his life for others."

Skills, interest and fears
- Quite knowledgeable of human anatomy.
- Actually pretty persuasive and calming.
- He can trade and bargain well due to his mothers teachings.
- He likes history and reading folk tales.
- He loves hearing a good story to escape his dark reality.
- His death will come sooner than most but he is afraid of dying alone.
- His greatest fear is being helpless to save those he loves.

Name: Larissa Kydale

Appearance:
Larissa is a small, wiry individual. Her skin is fair and she has long brown hair that falls just below her shoulders. Her eyes are a sky blue color and her figure is that of an hour glass. Larissa likes to dress in nice clothes more often then not. She is not scared to dress plainly but she prefers nice things.

Personality:
Larissa is a very outspoken and compassionate person. She knows whatever is in her heart and she often follows it without question. She will always take care of herself and if she wants something she wants it now. Her way, to her, is always the best way. She takes criticism poorly but she welcomes it all the same. She is not afraid to speak her mind and never back's down from her beliefs. Some people don't like Larissa for that reason.

Lukas believes her to be a good hearted woman. And she is, if someone is in need or help, Larissa will not hesitate to provide it. She hates injustice of any kind and will always fight it. She defends her friends and her loved ones without mercy. She cares deeply and passionately for everyone because she is indeed an idealist. Weaponry and Other:
Larissa carries a bow and a quiver of arrows. She also uses a dagger which she's quite skilled with. She has been known to shoot rabbits at ranges of up to 75 feet with her bow.

APPEARANCE
Adela stands at 5'7" and weighs about 120lbs (54kg) with a slender yet somewhat lean build. Her soft light brown, reddish hair is usually worn down and falls halfway down her back. She has almond-shaped, dull hazel eyes that sometimes appear green depending on her clothing. She holds a sharp, keen glint in her gaze, as if she can see right past one's external facade and into their true thoughts.

She has a youthful, lively face and light tan skin. Although her cheekbones are not very prominent, she has a sharp jawline and her cheeks hold a slight pink flush. Adela walks smoothly and carefully with grace and poise. She often does not wear any jewelry, save for the mananite charm bracelet her father made when she was younger, which she has never taken off since. Her favorite outfit consists of a white smock with a light green dress over it, bringing out her subtle curves and her bright eyes.

PERSONALITY
Adela is a sensitive, imaginative, and passionate soul. She can easily relate to others' emotions, helping them establish harmony and good will to minimize conflict. Because of her perceptiveness towards others people's feelings, she uses this insight to craft ideas that speak to people's hearts. She generally gives off a rather relaxed and warm aura, allowing her to be charming and likable. Generally, she is somewhat more soft-spoken than most, preferring to observe rather than contribute to those around her. Around her close friends, however, Adela has a rather lighthearted sense of humor and becomes very talkative.

Underneath this apparent shyness, however, lies a passionate heart that can be turned on in unexpected ways. Whether it be artistic inspiration or angry words spoken by another, she will follow this passion. Although she is not afraid to speak her mind, her aversion for conflict may sometimes clash with this need to stand up. Her curiosity for the people and the world around her only fuels her passionate soul even more to explore various ideas or activities that excite her.

Adela tends to follow her own intuition and refuses to rely on anyone but herself, as her freedom of expression is her top priority. Anything that interferes with this, such as strict traditions or hard rules, can create a sense of oppression for her. As a result, she can be unpredictable, easily stressed, and may lash out when she feels trapped or overwhelmed. Open-minded and creative, she is rather spontaneous and prefers to follow her heart rather than her mind.
MAGIC, WEAPONRY, INVENTORY
[ MAGIC VEIN ]
Dreamweaver/Sognial
Adela mainly uses her magic for healing and supportive purposes rather than for combat. She can create warm, heartfelt illusions specific to a person, alleviating any emotional turmoil temporarily. Immediately following the illusion, the person often feels more relaxed. This skill is mainly used on her mother, father, and customers at the herbal shop. Additionally, she uses these illusions to soothe her parents to sleep at night when needed. Adela will also instill peaceful dreams into their heads to ensure a good night's sleep. Although she is willing to use her skills for combat, she prefers not to and will only use her magic for harm if she has to.

[ WEAPONRY ]
Adela has throwing knives and a dagger that her brother bought for safety measures. She is not very experienced with them, but Augustine has taught her how to throw her knives somewhat accurately. Combined with her Sognial magic, she can conjure illusions in her enemy's mind and use this time to ready her shot. She can also shroud her presence with illusions and sneak up on her enemy with her dagger for close combat, although she prefers to throw her knives from afar.

[ INVENTORY ]
Her pack will consist of her faithful sketchpad and a few colored pencils, as there is no chance she is venturing to a new place without any method of documentation. Besides her mananite charm bracelet, she will bring other jewelry with mananite embedded into them, including rings and small bracelets. Finally, Adela will bring a multitude of different herbs from the family herbal shop for various medicinal purposes.

SKILLS, INTERESTS, FEARS
[ SKILLS ]
After helping out at the family herbal shop for most of her life, Adela is quite knowledgeable on medicinal and poisonous plants as well as homemade remedies. Additionally, she is adept at reading other people's emotions and knows how to use this information to her advantage, but she prefers to avoid manipulation.

[ INTERESTS ]
Adela has a passion for the arts, especially drawing and painting. She loves to seclude herself in nature and focus on her artwork in peace. Furthermore, she has always loved a good read and started an ever-growing collection of books in her room. The types of books that she reads are usually either adventure stories in faraway lands or psychology books on human behavior. She also takes pleasure in stargazing and will often take midnight walks to clear her head, especially after her slowly growing insomnia. Although her family does not own any animals, she enjoys riding horses whenever she visits a friend's farm.

[ FEARS ]
She is afraid that her father will snap again, but this time, she will not be there to stop him from losing control and murdering someone. Adela also fears for her mother's mental health- Although her mother's anxiety has been improving, she is afraid of what will happen if she is not there to provide help. In addition, a part of her is scared that one night, the usage of Sognial magic will catch up to her and she will never wake up again. Finally, she is afraid that she will end up spending the rest of her life in the small village of Bordissa without ever having seen the world.
BACKSTORY
Adela was born and raised in Bordissa with her twin brother, Augustine, and two loving Agrirran parents. Her mother owned an herbal shop and her father was a miner at a nearby mananite mine. Her brother quickly assumed a protective role over his twin sister, always watching out for her in as young children and fending off any potential bullies. As soon as she could write, her passion for art became quite apparent. She felt pure enjoyment from sitting in nature and drawing in her sketchpad or painting the landscape in front of her.

At her mother's herbal shop, the village folks would often come to her mother for physical and mental pain, as she was quite well-known for her effective remedies. Thus, Adela spent a fair amount of time in the store helping out. Although her mother enjoyed helping others, she too had her own share of adversities. A victim of anxiety disorder, she would often be subject to intense panic attacks.

Subsequently, Adela decided to specialize in Sognial magic. She initially used her abilities to create warm, happy illusions during her mother's panic attacks and soothe her to sleep at night. As she grew older, she began to use her magic at their herbal shop to help customers with their mental and emotional pain. Although they did lose a couple of regular customers due to the disdain surrounding Sognial magic, many townsfolk were thrilled to receive the help. Furthermore, Augustine's intimidating presence would quiet anyone who had something unkind to say about Adela. As their mother's anxiety improved due to Adela's magic, their family lived quite happily for several years.

One hot summer evening, the mananite mine that her father worked at caved in. Thankfully, most of the workers were already out by the time the mine collapsed, but her father was the last one out. Subsequently, his arms were trapped underneath the heavy rocks. His co-workers ran back to save him, but with the mine already caving in, they were forced to cut his arms off right below the elbow and pulled him out just as the mine fully collapsed. That day, he lost his ability to wield magic and turned into a different person.

Her father slipped into a depression and lost his motivation to do anything, despite all of Adela's efforts to alleviate his emotional turmoils with her magic. He would spend his days drinking at the tavern and became a cold, bitter person. One day, when he was at the tavern, he overheard a conversation revealing that the cause of the mine collapse was another miner's careless mistake. A combination of the miner's reckless personality, his overextension of earth magic, and just the right weak spot in the mananite rocks had caused a domino effect that led to the collapse of the entire mine.

Fueled with a blinded rage, her father snuck out of the house that night and headed for the miner's home. Because insomnia had already started to creep up on her, Adela was still awake and followed him. Due to his recent disability, he had convinced a close friend to aide him in this endeavor. The second the accused miner showed his face, the two men jumped onto him and started to slam the miner's face repeatedly with a rock. After spending his days in the tavern, her father had learned how to use the stubs of his arms to hold cups and other objects, such as rocks, by clutching either side.

Adela immediately sprinted towards them and shouted for his father to stop. By the time she reached him, the miner was on the verge of death. Having knowledge of Celia Culpesso's hidden Cleric magic due to her relationship with Ambrose Culpesso, the Dreamweaver rushed to the Culpesso house and carefully lured the twins outside. Fortunately, Celia managed to heal enough of the miner's injuries to secure his survival. Because Adela knew her father would be imprisoned for this assault, she swore the twins and her father's friend to secrecy. The miner also agreed to keep quiet since his own role in the mine collapse would be revealed should he report this assault.

The shock from almost murdering another person was a sobering reality check for his father. Eventually, he came to accept his new lifestyle. Fearful that his loss of magic and near-murder may prevent his entrance into the heavenly realm of Solaija, he sought to work for the Assembly. The Uncles in Bordissa took pity on his disability and gave him a page position for the Uncles and seers.

Currently, Adela uses her Sognial magic to provide emotional and mental relief to her parents as well as at the herbal shop. The Dreamweaver rarely, if ever, uses her abilities for combative or destructive purposes. Although she is pleased with the way her life is right now, Adela's curious and passionate soul yearns for more. She hopes to someday travel the entirety of both the Nortalis and Meridania kingdoms, but for now, those are simply far-fetched dreams.

Twin brother, 19 | A strong, assertive, and hot-headed male, the boy is extremely protective of his sister. If one even looks at her the wrong way, he/she will have an angry Ghiaciel mage in his/her face. Although this has deterred a number of suitors, Adela is quite amused and secretly finds his behavior endearing, even if she often lashes out at him for being too nosey or controlling. Often compared to sun and moon, Augustine and Adela would do anything for each other

[ Alina Rylan ]
Mother, 43 | A kind, nurturing, and caring woman, she exudes warmth and comfort to those around her. Although she still struggles with her anxiety, the frequency of her panic attacks have greatly subsided due to Adela's magic. She can never thank her daughter enough and has recently started to refuse Adela's help due to her fear of the magic's negative side effects. This has caused some dissent in their relationship, as Adela would go to the ends of the earth for her mother (and vice versa).

[ Aeric Rylan ]
Father, 47 | A once lighthearted, cheerful man, he turned into a cold, hostile, and bitter soul immediately following his accident that lost his hands. Over the years, however, his old persona has begun to show itself more and more each day. After witnessing him almost kill another man, Adela cannot help but view him differently now. Although she loves him dearly, she will always have an eye on him to make sure that never happens again.

APPEARANCE
Augustine stands at 6'1" and weighs about 191lbs (86kg) with a rather muscular, wide build. He has long, wavy, light brown/reddish hair, very similar to his sister's hair. His eyes are light brown and hold a rather fiery, passionate gaze in them. He has high cheekbones as well as a sharp jawline, giving his face a prominent frame. He walks with confidence and boldness, as if he is always on a mission to accomplish some large goal. His favorite outfit is a dark gray/blue collared shirt with leather suspenders. Augustine does not wear any jewelry except for a mananite ring on his right ring finger that his father made for him.
MAGIC & WEAPONRY
[ MAGIC VEIN ]
Ice/Ghiaciel
Although he initially used his Ice magic to ensure the town's food preservation during the cold winters, he has recently switched to training to work as a Protector. As a result, Augustine finds much more fulfillment in law enforcement rather than agriculture. For example, he often uses his Ghiaciel abilities to secure criminals by creating ice handcuffs or freezing them in place.

[ WEAPONRY]
Augustine is quite adept in wielding his sword, often sharpening his sword or causing his opponent to lose balance with his Ice magic. He is very skilled at close combat as well as hand-to-hand fighting but lacks experience in long range weapons aside from the throwing knives that he bought for his sister.
PERSONALITY
Augustine is a confident, assertive, and impetuous man. He can be condescending and stubborn in his beliefs, rarely admitting that he is wrong. However, although he is rather abrasive with his words, he is also honest and straightforward. He is not afraid of confrontation and will always voice his opinions, preferring to communicate clearly with others. He is decisive and fiercely independent, always having a plan of action and goal in mind.

Socially, August can be hard to know, as his headstrong exterior tends to deter others. He is a rather private and skeptical person, having built many walls around himself. However, the few who have succeeded in penetrating his emotional walls are provided with an unconditional loyalty, a huge heart, and a constant protective rock. He would go to the ends of the earth for those he cares about, becoming a friend for life, such as his twin sister.

Augustine is also strategic, logical, and detail-oriented. He is highly perceptive and observant of the world around him, noticing small details and changes in habits. When making decisions, he is very rational and reliant on the facts, as he believes that one's emotions and personal biases have no place in making objective choices. Consequently, he can be quite insensitive at times and emotionally inconsiderate, often offending others in the process. Likewise, it is extremely difficult for him to express his own feelings and tends to bottle them up. The few times he shows the emotional side of him are only to those very close to him, such as Adela or a current girlfriend.

INTRO
Nice to meet you!! My name is Semblance and I am your co-GM. We really appreciate your interest and love reading all of your characters :) I first joined RPN in the summer of 2015 and I stay active during breaks, but often take long hiatuses during the semester when I'm busy with school.

I am currently a rising senior in college (or university for the Europeans out there), born and raised in the USA. I am studying biology and psychology with the ultimate goal of becoming a physician's assistant. I studied abroad in Prague during the fall 2016 semester and I absolutely fell in love with Europe, so I definitely plan on going back someday.

My favorite colors are mint/teal, and I have a half Labrador half Australian cattle dog. I would say that I'm a pretty extroverted person and I enjoy talking to other people. Spontaneous and chill are two other qualities that people have used to describe me. I also love going to concerts/music festivals and I enjoy listening to chill EDM.

ROLEPLAYING
I first started RP-ing when I was in middle school (about 8 years ago). I was obsessed with the Warrior Cats series by Erin Hunter, so my very first experience roleplaying was on multiple Warrior Cat forums with one-liners. I took quite a long hiatus in high school and basically didn't RP at all until I came to college about 3 years ago. This was when I discovered RPN and needless to say, I was hooked from the very first day.

.Name Rohis Enla Stellen
. Pronounced- Row-is

.Age 19

.Gender Female

.Tag-line "The Misanthropic Scrapper"

.Appearance A short, slightly messy layer of blonde hair sits atop Rohis's head. Light blue eyes stare out of her pale face, icy and judgmental. Several scars mar her appearance, with her left eyebrow split in two by one, another carved into the area just below her lip, reaching towards her chin. She has inherited her mother's strong, defined jaw and elevated cheek bones. A smattering of freckles, stretching from cheek to cheek, lend her an undeserved sense of innocence. Couple with small, button like nose, Rohis presents a mixed look. While some features may give a light, playful profile to onlookers, her scars, darkly ringed eyes and impassive stare are less inviting.

Her figure is lean and tall. Another gift from her mother. Standing exactly six foot, Rohis carries herself with a deliberate, careful sort of step. Mostly, her frame is glad in the same garments. A high collar blue jacket over a simple white shirt, worn with a liberal amount of her chest on display. Joined by a pair of black and yellow breeches and a set of dark leather boots, travelling up just short of her knees.

.Personality Rohis is, to the passive observer, an industrious, if cynical young woman. She conducts herself with the steady, unearned confidence of the youth when coupled with a certain level of skill. A slightly cocky stride and expression of impassivity lend to her an air of arrogance, which is not entirely far from the truth. While she does not flaunt any ability, or boast her talent, there is an underling smugness to her. Of course, this is a hint at the rather sensitive ego she possess, which takes little to be wounded. To be bested by another, in any theater, even one she is inexperienced in will result in some smarting on her behalf. She has a stern sense of dedication and commitment to a practice. Be it magic, sword or other pursuits.

Socially, Rohis isn't overly talkative. She is far from the most eloquent of speakers, and finds actions infinitely more valuable than words. This leads to a quick and brash approach to life, with impulse leading her forward. With a judgmental mind, she assumes the worst about people, until proven otherwise. The mixed result of isolation and poor social skills as a child. Though, despite her suspicious of others, she remains hopeful to be proven wrong, and makes small gestures from time to time. A way of maintaining a little idealism.

Ultimately though, Rohis is a pragmatist, unfortunately, this pragmatism is joined by her pride and ego, giving her cavalier demeanor. All this is not to peg her as an aloof snob however. The reality has her hold a rather intelligent, perceptive mind, with compassionate streak witnessed by few, but some. Whether it's the least painful death she can offer to her prey on a hunt, or the silent acts of kindness she keeps to herself. The arrogance fades, and ego deflates when alone. Left to her own devices, free from town or city, accompanied only by nature. This is where Rohis loves to be. The natural noises of the woods and simplistic ways of animals offer a predictable structure she enjoys. She understands her position in this place, and does not need to concern herself with what others may assume.

.Backstory Born in Bordissa, Rohis was raised along side her identical twin, Fiore. Their mother was the daughter of a blacksmith, their father a hunter by trade. The girls were the first children the couple had and they were brought up just outside of the town in their fathers family home. Located at the edge of the forest, a fairly large structure for a hunter.

As children, Rohis and Fiore were inseparable. The two girls were so similar in appearance, their mother couldn't tell them apart. Deliberately wearing the same clothing, cutting their hair in the same crude manner. All for the particular joy of confusing their parents and others. They shared the unique bond most twins own. Always having the same instinct, not needing to share glances to know what the other may be thinking. They spent their days helping their mother, or tormenting her. Depending on their mood. Learning to hunt with their father, which proved a tiresome task, as they had all the grace of a bull while in the forest, loudly proclaiming their presence to all the animals nearby. Their uncle would come by and show the girls how to hold a stick like a sword, and gleefully encouraged them as they clumsily battered one another. Much to their mother's dismay. They'd listen to the tales told by Cordelius Fugal, sitting in rapture to his words.

With the passing of time however, the two began to start down separate paths. While Fiore spent more time with their mother, learning to cook, repair clothes and other such duties, Rohis learnt her father's skills. They spent less time together, and as Fiore let her hair grow long, helped her mother run their stall at the market and earned her own grouping of friends, Rohis on the other hand, didn't. The steadily growing difference between them was symbolized as the two became more identifiable, it no longer being a effort to distinguish between the two.

The years for Rohis were quite different than her twin. Her father, with no son to teach, chose to show her the art of hunting. How to track a deer, how to lay a trap for rabbits or hit a pheasant at a range. She wasn't the most natural, but learnt slowly. In truth, she favored the days when her uncle, a retired soldier with one hand and a lip twisted by a ugly scar, would show her how to handle a sword. He was a kind, but unapologetic teacher, and Rohis found herself getting her head rang like a bell more often than not. Battered knuckles, sore limbs and her split eyebrow were her reward for this pursuit. It was a hobby both her parents looked upon with doubt, but her uncle pointed out how useful being able to defend oneself was. Plus she didn't stop, even at their request. Indeed, she relished the those hours. Not just for the training, but her uncle's company. His blunt, crass honesty never failed to amuse her. He was easy to talk to, and provided a useful outlet for Rohis. She wouldn't speak a bad word about her father, but his brand of wisdom came in long, mute hikes through the forest, and wasn't as straight forward as with her uncle. Her mother had all the forgiving nature of a wolf, so Lousanto Jr became her go to in times of difficultly.

Magic isn't a particularly prevalent subject within her family. Her father, rather adept in Sensorae saw it as just another tool in his selection to bring home some prey. Her mother, Aggriran, rarely sued her abilities Her uncle suggested Oraculae, his Vein as well. Taking his word, Rohis couldn't deny, there was a great excitement at the idea of knowing the future. Of course, it isn't so straightforward. Her magical ability permits visions of the future, or even the past. Yet her lack of understanding means she can't do either. Her father attempted to teach her, foregoing to the usual tutelage for his own brand of learning. Unfortunately for Rohis, her father's abilities for teaching seemed to stop at hunting. Therefore, her grip on magic is basic at best, next to none at worst.

Presently, Rohis occupies her time by hunting mostly. The solitude suits her and she enjoys spending anything from a day, to a week trekking through the forest. The careful observer might spot her tucked away in the back of the town's tavern from time to time, listening to the music, quietly drinking by herself. However, she has made her presence minimal within the town since reaching her later years, seen delivering game to her family to sell, or perhaps visiting her uncle. In part due to the disapproving looks of the Assemblants, and in part due to her nature. If one was silent enough to be able to follow the young woman through the forest without being noticed, perhaps, just maybe, they’d hear the sound her sweet, soft singing.

.Viccen Stellen-43 A quiet, gentle man, known to never raise his voice. With unkempt dark blonde hair, and a poorly maintained beard, Rohis's father reflects his personality in his appearance. He has never spoken a bad word about another and is content to live a let live. A common joke is that his long days spent in the forest, with nothing but animals for company have left him 'odd'. His tendency to let his mind wander and drift into another world seems to support this theory. He's shown nothing but love for his daughters, and even though he had hoped for a son, he has never let that taint the affection his shows his children. Rohis has a good relationship with her father. They share a silent bond, made over years of hunting together, and he remains one of the few who she can be truly at ease around.

.Lillana Stellen-42 A striking woman, Rohis's mother remains just as outgoing now, as she was when a teen. With a large heart and a tongue sharper then most daggers, she is equal part loving and equal part unforgiving. She maintains a 'interesting' relationship with Rohis. Hunting and sword play aren't things she envisioned her daughter doing, but seeing the passion Rohis has for her activities, Lillana only raises an eyebrow from time to time.

.Lousanto Ella-67 Rohis's grandfather is a giant of a man, even in his old age. Stocky, well-built and callous from years at the forge, Lousanto has refused to give up his trade. His long grey hair his slicked back behind his ears and his ragged beard is wild and ungroomed. He is not an emotional man, but his care for his grandchildren is clear in the work he put into the items they use to protect themselves.

.Lousanto.Jr Ella-45 A man characterized by his grizzly, deformed lip and a lack of a left hand, Rohis's uncle is a jovial, profane man, and ex-soldier. With a similar build to his father, Lousanto Jr has a roughly shaven head, and a beard reaching down as far as his chest. The man taught Rohis how to use a sword and "How to gut any fucker dumb nuff' to try and kill ya'." He is arguably the one man who she feels she can share anything with.

.Fiore Stellen-19 Rohis's identical twin. While the two were as close as any could be as children, the later years have brought a change in tune. They have a mutual understanding that, despite their shared looks, they're very much different people. They still share that bond though, the one which never seems to fade. While they may no longer be with one another constantly, either one would do anything to protect the other.

wD9mQUJ.png

.Magic Vein Oraculae - Rohis is entirely untrained in the art of magic. With no training or true understanding of her magic, she remains inept with it. She desperately wants to be better at using her magic, as the ability to see what is to come intrigues her. Not only to protect herself and loved ones, but to know what comes next, at a more personal level.

.Weaponry and Equipment Long sword- A simple, yet effective piece steel with a plain leather wrapped handle and circular pommel. Given to her on her sixteenth birthday by her grandfather who forged the weapon himself.

Hunting bow- A basic but expertly craft bow, only ever used to take down game.

.Skills, Interests, Fears Rohis's talents lay in a couple of different areas. A natural hand with a blade, she's spent whole days with her uncle, dueling him with sticks, to wooden swords, to practice blades. Hunting is an another art, bestowed upon her by her father. The forest quickly proved to be her favorite place to disappear to. However, she also has more secretive hobbies. Rohis has a deep love of music and song, and enjoys singing while alone. Only ever when alone however.

Rohis would like to present a fearless exterior, but like most, she fears for her family and their well being. Uncertainty also worries her, though her true fear comes from achieving nothing of note, to live a life and leave nothing behind. To be forgotten. Physical fears are simpler. She is wary of fire and the idea of being burned alive makes her grow quiet.

.Writing Sample-Not a fantasy piece, but hopefully enough.

Fiore Stellen
Cf6r4rz.png
. Fiore Enla Stellen

. Fiore is identical to her twin, Rohis. Icy blue eyes, freckled face and high cheekbones. Their main differences come down to choice, mostly. Fiore sports much longer hair then her twin, with her's loosely tied back into a ponytail. Her face is also free from the scar's which have been inflicted upon her sister's own appearance. Their stature is a little different, with Fiore being the shorter of the two, by a couple of inches. She wears simple dresses, and often adorns a cloak with a fur collar. Something far beyond what she could afford normally, but received this as a gift, made from the pelt her father took.

. The twins share more than just looks. They have a similar personality, though it has shifted over the years. Fiore maintains the proud and stubborn nature of her sister, also joining her with a rather raw ego. However, she is far more social then her sibling. She can speak to others with ease, carrying a flirtatious charm and quick tongue on her at all times. Unlike Rohis, she is at home in social gatherings, finding herself most happy when surrounded by others. Be chatting at the market, in the company of some handsome lad in the tavern or with family. Fiore is a 'people person', through and through. She enjoys teasing her sister, though in truth, is still upset the two have so little in common left. She has a naturally maternal instinct to her, and worries about others more than herself a lot of the time.

Fiore is sweet, sharp and compassionate. Her giving nature doesn't come without a price though, as she all too often nails people with the same judgmental, icy gaze her twin does.

. Ventant - Fiore is relatively competent, though she only really makes simple charms, designed to help townsfolk for a small price. She has never tried to charm anything beyond that.

. Fiore has never found much use for weaponry, though she as always kept a dagger hidden near her thigh. A reliable instrument forged by her grandfather.

Raven Alma Constanza'The Little Librarian'
Name:
Raven Alma Constanza

Age:
18

Appearance:
Raven is a extremely young looking woman with a thin childlike body, standing at around 5'4". She has shoulder length raven black hair and deep rogue eyes. Although with a delicate frame Raven has slightly established muscles around her body and a well formed abs underneath her dress. Her clothing consists of a thin black and white dress, thigh-high boots, arm warmers and a long black coat. On her shoulder she carries a mysterious large back case with her at all times.

Personality:
Raven is a clever, quiet woman with a strong intuition and a even stronger sense of responsibility. Raised in a well off home she has a appreciation of the finer things in life, but is not blind to the impoverished. Her wealth has not ever defined who she is or what she stands for, nor will it ever. Serious-minded, Raven is not inclined to make light of even the smallest of things. Even in her younger years she had more mature interests than the other her age. Her older mentality pushed her away from other children and developed her loner and shy attitude. Often hiding her emotions through literally hiding from others or through her silence. Raven's innocence often means she gets easily flustered, especially whenever men are concerned.

She values her home and family over anything else in her life. Taking care of her loved ones are her top priority and Raven is willing to sacrifice anything of herself to take care of them. She desires the security of a peaceful, settled home environment where she can enjoy her family and friends. Whatever goal she sets for herself she does her very best to complete in accordance to what she considers right. At home she assumes all responsibilities she is capable of. She has the self confidence to from her own opinions and make her own decisions. Others can and do rely on her heavily. Once she has given her word she will do everything she can to fulfill a responsibility. However there is a tendency for her to be a bit too independent in her thinking, making it difficult for her to accept help from others when she should.

Raven prides herself in her intelligence, skill and accomplishments. But in actual fact, she’s hot-headed, stubborn, and extremely cold to those she is unfamiliar with. Though seemingly mature and strict, she's somewhat of a scaredy-cat is who’s often helplessly and adorably incapacitated with fear when stories involving the macabre and horrific come up. A delicate and innocent woman, she’s afraid of attention and becomes overly flustered whenever she’s under the spotlight. Just imagining herself in such situations turns her into a klutz.

Backstory:
Born to a skilled blacksmith and powerful paladin Raven and her twin sister Noa were born in Bordissa. However, after the death of their grandfather the entire family moved up near Calemont to take over his blacksmith shop. Raven preferred studying than being outside. Raven grew interested in her magic and fiction books. She would spend most of her time in the Assembly, the library or with her teachers learning more about how she can use her magic. Meanwhile her sister was her polar opposite, she lived for adventure and was always off running about the streets. More often than not it was Raven's job to cover for her precocious and flighty sister when her parents noticed her missing. Raven played a second mother to her twin, constantly scolding her sister for forcing her to stop her studies to find her. Still at the end of the day she still covered for her sister every chance she could. They were more than twins, they were mirrored reflections of each other.

Her parents did everything to help both Raven and Noa pursue their studies and prompted them to learn how to fight at the young age of four. Her parents knew that with the influx of bandits around the area and owning a blacksmith shop they knew they were more than likely going to be targets. The twin's mother crafted hundreds upon thousands of various weapons ordered by the Calemont nobles. Many times she's interacted with the rare material, Mananite. Over the years of that both her mother and grandfather worked with the material they stockpiled the scraps of Mananite leftover. With their mother spending much of her time with the Assembly and keeping the peace in Calemont she didn't have the time to make sure the shop was guarded. However, she did have the time to train her daughters in how to use a array of weapons and protect themselves.

Her sister saw no real interest in training and would often skip, but Raven was much more devoted to it. Like everything it was hard and Raven wasn't very good in the beginning, but as she trained in and out of practice she slowly got better. Her father taught her how to integrate small portions of her magic to make her weapons lighter and easier to use. Although quite weak Raven was able to excel in her training thanks to her father's tricks. Still learning magic with her teachers Raven was able to manipulate a series of objects while in combat. When Raven was training alone she always felt good about how far she'd come. However, when her sister bothered to show up Raven's pride eroded and she was left with envy. Her sister was a natural at combat. What took her three months to master her sister figured out in a day. Raven enjoyed the days when she didn't have to see her sister on the training grounds.

As the girls grew up and were beginning to look at jobs Noa took to preforming. Her magic, physical and musical talents made her the perfect candidate to be a performer of any kind. Her sister decided to become a street performer and traveled over to Bordissa where she is currently living. While Raven had the same magic as her sister she couldn't see herself as a preform. Instead she decided to work in the library, enjoying the quiet atmosphere and lack of people staring. Raven spends most of her days in a pretty average routine. She wakes up early in her family home, gets ready and prepares breakfast for her parents, before leaving for her job. Working till her break where, before returning back to work until closing. After she would train on her own and work with her teachers to further her magic before returning home to start another day. It was a dull and uneventful life but it was her and she enjoyed it. Currently she has taken a much needed vacation and has been staying with her sister in Bordissa.

Acquaintances:
Carol Constanza
- Mother - 38 -
A skilled blacksmith Carol takes pride in her work. She is a strong steadfast and independent woman who doesn't do anything half half assed. Very different from herself Raven loves her mother's no-nonsense attitude and enjoys watching her work. She has a great respect for her mother and loves spending time with her, regardless how little that time is.

Juilan Constanza
- Father - 42 -
A paladin for the Assembly, Julian is a kindhearted and accommodating man. Very soft-spoken he loves to laugh and spend time with his family. Raven knows she takes after her father in most ways. Having learned her father's combat styles and trained with him daily she has a closer bond to him than her mother.

Noa Constanza
- Twin Sister - 18 -
Raven's twin sister and polar opposite in a way. Energetic and excitable her sister is so wild that Raven is tasked with making sure that she wouldn't get in too much trouble. In return Noa constantly places Raven in situations where she would have to interact with stranger. As annoyed as Raven is with her sister she still loves her and will at least humor her.

Abee June
- Magic Teacher - 65 -
A older Traslocal magic user who lives in Calemont and traveled down to the neighboring town to train Raven in the art of her magic. She is a wise calm woman who taught her more than magic, but also cooking and sewing as well. Raven enjoys spending time with her and appreciates that she doesn't hold back with her.

2014-03-25-640347.jpeg
Magic Vein:
Traslocal
Choosing her vein alongside her sister Raven has spent most of her life improving herself in the field of magic. Using her magic she uses it to move faster and hit harder than her lack luster strength could pull off. Aside from combat Raven uses her magic to raise herself and objects up, often to place books onto a high shelf without a ladder. While for combat she uses her magic to manipulate the blades her mother gave her whilst fighting. She often uses her magic for quick transportation in and out of areas where there are lots of people so she can avoid any kind of social interaction. Other than that she uses her power to make quick deliveries or scout out a area to track her sister's whereabouts.

Weaponry and Inventory:
When both of her daughters turned fifteen Raven's mother crafted a gauntlet that releases a bow and quiver with a series of arrows made of the same metal as the gauntlet. Her mother also crafted a series of thick shard-like blades, made from the same metal as the gauntlets that she carries in a case.

Skills, Interests and Fears:

Raven's greatest skill is her skill with a bow, she is talented at archery and multi-tasking. She can also cook and sew clothing quite easily, also has very good sense of direction which is very important when she teleports. Raven's interests are quite dull to be honest, she enjoys reading, writing, philosophizing, metalwork and on rare occasions hunting. The only time she ever expresses any true interests is in books, as her love of them knows no bounds. However, she keeps most of her interests to herself, she is a quiet individual who enjoys being alone. Like nearly everything else Raven keeps her fears she keeps close to her chest, and she has many fears. She is afraid of insects of varying kinds from small to large. Just a look at a bug sends chills down her spine and makes her scream bloody murder. She is also afraid of spiders and octopuses. However, her greatest fear would have to be the overuse strains. Her immense devotion to training is to find that breaking point and to never reach it. Although she still hasn't found that dangerous level, she knows she can't get cocky, can't overuse her power and will have to train endlessly so she will never break and be lost forever.

Personality:

Noa is a aspiring and excited woman with to goals in life, adventure and entertainment. Always a joyful, she was a cloud in the wind nothing could bring her down. Idealistic and upbeat she is willing to try anything and everything at least once. Unafraid or at least unwilling to think of the consequences of her actions, it makes her a easy mark. A free spirit in every sense of the word Noa is a girl who loves to wander and thrives in open spaces. Dancing with the stars, moving with the wind, taking life as it comes was how Noa lived her life.

Always the first to say she'll do something, Noa is a bit unreliable. She is flighty, audacious and confident. Unlike her sister Noa is a social butterfly, enjoying every moment she is in the center of attention. She runs at the chance for social interaction and lives to make others gaze upon her with wonder. Although she is considered narcissistic Noa is far from it. She wants to entertain others, but never put anyone down. Noa is happy to share and even give the stage to others allowing them to shine as well. Constantly pushing Raven to speak out and interact with others, sadly her efforts were always in vain.

Magic Vein:
Like her sister Noa chose the Traslocal vein and and loves her magic. Although she doesn't have certain grasp on it Noa isn't one to worry about strain or the aftereffects of it. She likes to let her magic work on it's own and uses it based on instincts.

Weaponry and Other:
Similar to her sister Noa has a gauntlet that releases a weapon, while her sister's is a bow and arrows, her's is a simple sword made from the similar onyx metal as the gauntlet. She also has Mananite sword that her twin had given her. Rarely using her weapons she's in the business of entertainment not combat.

Jude Shackleford
tumblr_nqggqiuUC1rz6calo1_1280.jpg
A 19 year old looking to join the the protectors of Great Salarch, Jude is a strong believer in the law of the land, and stands against those who lack respect for it. Jude is a 6'2" tall man weighing 190 pounds who usually wears a cold look on his face, with a sizable scar running just underneath his right eye down his cheek. His eyes are a pale blue, and have a focused look to them. Jude keeps his medium length dark brown hair back and neatly styled, trimming his beard to compliment his hair and frame his face. Jude often dresses in neat, stylized outfits favoring the color blue and brown to compliment his eyes and hair.
"Iron Clamp of the Law"
A well read man who dedicates all his time to set the world straight. Jude wants to become a protector, and he wants to get in overqualified. Impressing his superiors may allow him to ascend in rank swiftly. This move may make his comrades jealous, Jude knows this, but he has decided friends have no room in his life. Half of his time is spent training with weapons of many types and styles. The other half is spent reading up on theory regarding law, civilization, philosophy, and criminology.

Authority, this is what Jude seeks. Knowing he will never be noble, the best way Jude can think to change things for the better is to hold the responsibility of Commander within the protectors. From this position with such authority and influence, changing the laws of the land to suit a better society may be possible. Jude will not break the law to achieve his goals though, thinking it better to lead by example. He also has no pride within him, he will gladly be embarrassed, humiliated, ridiculed, or worse if it will further his goals. As long as he takes these embarressments in stride Jude believes others will look down upon his antagonizers for going to far.

While everything regarding his goals are in check, his sociality is not. He can speak confidently and decisively about right and wrong or sometimes even battle strategies, but he is not that great at holding up a regular conversation. He has fumbled along his whole life, jealous of his brother's much more abundant charisma. This may also have played into Jude's decision that his life has no room for friends, because he barely had any to begin with. Women make him feel plainly uncomfortable, and can put Jude off balance without much effort needed on their end. He has never even held hands with a woman who wasn't his mother. Jude has decided that if he never lays with a woman, then so be it, for his cause is great and requires such sacrifices. In his heart, deep down, Jude does yearn for friendship.

Backstory
Jude belongs to a mercantile family who has become quite wealthy over the years. He is the youngest of his siblings, his brother being born minutes before him, and his sister 4 years older than either of them. He always knew a life of luxury, but often saw glimpses of the other side. The Shackleford family never ran their buisness in a lawful manner, and Jude caught glimpses or heard small bits that made his heart sink. As he grew older he became quite empathetic with the lower class, and people such as his own family who exploited the poor were lower than dirt by his standards. His parents deserved to be in jail, and his sister was turned to their ways quite easily. Since they had someone to inherit the buissness, Jude's parents didn't care very much when he claimed not to be interested in becoming a merchant. His relationship with his brother was no better.

When Jude and his identical twin Balbas were children, Balbas was always the dominant one, ordering Jude around and taking control of each situation they came into. At first this was a harmless relationship between the two, until Balbas became more domineering. Balbas seemed to want full control over Jude, who decided he no longer wanted to be controlled and this resulted in a great fight between the two. They were never close with each other again. Balbas would use his flourishing charisma to turn others against Jude, and throughout their youth he made Jude a social outcast. Then Balbas started hanging out with the wrong group of people. He would sometimes disappear for nights with his family wondering where he went, and then show up without explanation. This concreted Jude's beliefs in law and justice. One year ago, city protectors came to their door asking about Balbas's whereabouts. He was suspected of murder and fled town that night, no Shackleford has seen him since. Jude recently heard reports of a man being beaten in Bordissa up north by a man naming himself Jude Shackleford. With the chance that this was his brother, Jude left for Bordissa as soon as he could. In his mind he made a descision as he traveled there. If he could arrest Balbas, he was ready to join the protectors.

Family and Acquaintances
Name - Relation - Additional Information
Inteos and Ferran Shackleford - Parents - Not knowing their sons intentions to accrue influence and take them down, they support him in his descision to become a protector, and fund his studies.
Herena Shackleford - Sister - They no longer interact much after she got more heavily involved with the buisness.
Balbas Shackleford - Identical Twin Brother - Bad relationship. Covered more in-depth above and below.

Vein of Magic

Jude is a Sensorae magic user. Although mostly unskilled at magic, the slight edge he can give his hearing and sight can allow him to hear or see a criminal a moment earlier, and every moment counts. He does not have many situations in life that would give worthwhile practice with these skills, and only has a small grasp on them.

Typical Equipment
Although Jude has basic practice with many standard weapons,
his preference when entering battle is a meteor hammer in his
right hand, and a spiked shield in his left. The meteor hammer
Jude uses is different from the one depicted below however.
He uses a meteor hammer with a longer chain and no handle.
Jude adjusts the range by letting the chain out, or winding it
back around his armored hand and forearm. The shield is
strapped to his opposite forearm.
Weapons small.jpg
Jude also carries around 8 sets of manacles around. Although he is not a protector yet, Jude hopes to make a couple arrest to make his name known beforehand, allowing him another advantage when he signs up.

Skills, Interests and Fears
On top of Jude's main interests, he also has a reasonable grasp of the mercantile trade. He learnt from many of his parents lessons, and can spot a good deal or a bad deal reasonably well. He has a interest in fashion as well, although his tastes may be a bit more personal than a specific style, he puts some weight into his appearance. After seeing a street artist performing an act of sleight of hand tricks, he casually began fiddling with the tricks as he reads, and has a small skill in the hobby. Jude fears the unknown. If he can understand what it is, and to some degree how it works, he is comfortable dealing with it. The unknown is twice as dangerous due to it's unpredictability, and Jude prefers thing be orderly.

Link to RPing Sample
Unfortunately it has been a while since I have RP'd in forum instead of real life and I cannot find the old roleplays I participated in by searching through the archive. If you have any advice on how to circumvent this then I would be happy to provide a link. I have not participated in a detailed style RP before, but I am very interested in your prompt and would love to learn. If I make mistakes or underperform, please let me know and I will be sure to put in the extra effort where it is needed.

Jude (Balbas) Shackleford
Balbas.jpg
A 19 year old charmer with a nasty soul. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 170 pounds, he will do anything to get his way. Well, nearly anything. Balbas looks nearly identical to his brother Jude with medium length dark brown hair and pale blue eyes. The main difference to be spotted is Balbas's slightly messier hair and beard, and the lack of a scar beneath his right eye.
Personality
A vile man at heart, Balbas seeks excitement and power. Killing, stealing, pressuring, and Necromancy, what way of gaining power could possibly be more exiting than this? Balbas is a cunning bastard with a severe lack of empathy. Emotional manipulation is one of his best strengths, and he has had plenty of practice over the years. Balbas has become quite the actor, convincing to even the most scrutinizing eye. To think that his friends and family actually thought he liked them is a laugh for Balbas. Taking his brother's name was one of his favorite ideas. To think that simply living with this name hurt Jude is great. It really shows how small and passive things can have great impact on others. Of course Balbas uses fake names when doing anything that requires him to be surreptitious, but anything loud and illegal is done by Jude Shackleford.

Balbas has a surprising weak spot. For all his lack of empathy, he does empathize with most animals. He hates seeing an animal hurt and will gladly deal twice as much pain to the perpetrator. He has trained a few birds to fly messages about for him, and usually has a few pet mice or rats wherever his temporary place of living is. This empathy also extends to children somewhat, but only so far as he wouldn't hurt a child himself. Nasty buisness.

Never agreeable with authority of any kind, Balbas has been rebelling against those who try to control him since childhood. While young he often refused to do what his parents or tutors told him to do, throwing fits and guilting them into getting his way. As he got older he found the laws felt like a pressure around him, closing in and trying to contain them. This feeling was what drove Balbas to cross the line and disappear. Balbas would rather die than be captured or controlled. Eventually Balbas decided to join a group of necromancers. It felt like shackling himself somewhat, but he justifies it with the knowledge that he is just using them to learn more secrets about mortius magic. Balbas doesn't mind asserting his control over others though, for it is not control he dislikes, but others controlling him.

Backstory
Balbas was dead. His parents never told anybody as they found it was a private matter, but figured Balbas should know. When Balbas was five years old his parents told him his heart was not beating when he was born, but he was quickly resuscitated. They also said they were worried that Balbas would turn out mentally underdeveloped due to the lack of blood to his brain, but he turned out to be a healthy young lad. As he grew older, Balbas would wonder if something didn't die within him that day.

The early years Balbas spent with his brother were great. Jude was such a great little servant. Anything Balbas asked, Jude would happily fetch, carry, or complete any task he was sent on. This went on until they turned eight. Balbas was more aware of the goings on within the family business. He would hear the beatings, witness the bribery, and even witnessed a "silencing". Unlike the fear these scenes would instill in most children, Balbas grew exited and interested in the dark matters he witnessed. Of course, he would want to start small, and his brother would be a perfect little henchman. Balbas told his brother they were going to rob another child of a wooden practice sword, but Jude seemed incredibly reluctant. Balbas eventually goaded Jude into going through with the act. Once Balbas had the sword in hand, Jude would not run away as planned, and standing there with his fists and voice trembling Jude told Balbas to give the sword back. After making it clear he would not give up the sword, his insolent brother pounced at him. Even with practice sword in hand, Balbas was no match for Jude. The many chores Jude did in his brother's stead, and the more playful and active nature Jude had given him a great edge. Balbas fled the scene humiliated, with a odd hatred rising up towards his brother.

Balbas exacted his revenge that very night. He snuck a knife from the kitchen into their room before sleeping and forced himself to lay awake until Jude slept. Standing over Jude with a knife and a gag, Balbas had no regret about what he was about to do, only a jittery excitement. He simultaneously shoved the gag into Jude's open mouth and put the knife close to Jude's eye. Jude awakened slowly, but his eyes quickly widened at the sight before him. Balbas whispered that this is what Jude deserves for crossing him, moving the knife closer to Jude's eye to watch him squirm, before cutting deep into Jude's face just beneath the right eye. Finally he threatened worse if Jude mentioned this night to anyone. Jude complied, and never interfered with Balbas again. This was because Balbas was not yet done with his brother. He wouldn't want Jude to get it in his head that he could defy him.

Growing into quite the manipulator, Balbas relized the best way to keep Jude down was to emotionally destroy him. Whenever Jude looked like he was getting along with a new group or making friends, Balbas would interfere. He stole from Jude's friends, planting the items to look like Jude had stolen them. Balbas would spread lies and start rumors while masquerading as his brother, creating a sense of distrust amongst those who knew Jude. Every act he commited isolated his brother more and more, until he was alone.

Balbas's interest in violence and other dark acts only deepened as he grew older. He got into the habit of commiting small crimes at least once a month. Assault, battery, theft, extortion, smuggling, and of course there was the eventual murder. That night the most exhilarating night of his life to that point. Things ended up getting messy though, and the plan was not perfectly executed, making him into a wanted criminal. He fled Great Salarch toward the northern towns, seeking asylum with the local criminals in return for his services. He has integrated quite well, and has dreams of running a guild of criminals.

Vein of Magic
Balbas is aligned with Mortius magic. Although ventent magic appealed to him at first, the taboo of mortius called to him like no other magic did. It also allows the user a much more control over the subject than ventent. He uses the dead to perform menial tasks for him and normally keeps them out of sight, but will unleash them when it comes to full scale attacks. For small offensives he prefers to see someone's life drain out before him, skin dying and blood slowing from his beams of dark energy. This energy typically manifests as a green glow for Balbas.

Equipment
His weapon of choice is a rapier as it keeps a hand free to cast magic while being an elegant and swift killer. As a joke, he carries a set of manacles to parody his brother who carried a pair on him before he left. Balbas figures next time he meets Jude he can use them on his brother. Other than that since Balbas often travels he carries around a pack set up with everything needed for travel. A few extra items being a quill, ink, and parchment for sending messages or writing notes. He also carries a fluid he bought from an alchemist that is quite handy at cleaning up bloodstains.

Evangeline di'Angelo
- The Conflicted Hunter

a p p e a r a n c e
Standing at 5'7", Evangeline weighs in at 128lbs as she is mainly slender and lithe, despite her occupation. She has ginger curly and wavy locks, which give her hair an always messy look. It falls just below her breasts, and a little above the half-way point on her back. Her slight upturned eyes are do not share this warm shade, as they are a stormy grey. Some describe them as piercing sometimes, or welcoming the other times.

Her complexion is pale, however she has a soft tan. She has defined bone structure, yet her supple lips, eyebrows and delicate rosy touches on her cheeks all work to balance her features out. Eva walks swiftly yet gracefully and with determination and direction with each step.

To most, Evangeline is a woman of little, carefully picked words. She merely stands behind, watches, observes and prefers to not have attention directed to her or to be involved in confrontation. She can flip these good observations into fast yet effective decision making, and she isn't afraid to call shots if the situation calls for it. In a way, she is extremely calculating, but it is not often for the gain of herself but rather for those she cares about. But Eva doesn't trust people very easily, as she has a cynical outlook on people and life. This also leads to her hating being told what to do or being given advice despite the good intentions. However, once she accepts and trusts someone, there is no extent she won't go to in order to help them. Her fierce protectiveness is majorly reserved for her family, but close friends would receive the same treatment. When it comes to support, she does try but tends to find she gives logical advice rather than emotional support, and is also quite honest if she so chooses.

Eva is always seen as calm and collected, and doesn't seem to ever get phased, though this is just a facade in order to act strong for her siblings. She also appears insensitive, though this is just the product of learning to block out and bottle up her feelings, since she doesn't want them to control her. It makes her feel helpless and stupid. Truly, she is still anxious with every turn and decision and can't help but feel responsible if anything goes wrong. But if something goes right due to her, she is humble about it. This modesty also translates to her ability and skills, which can be attributed to her low confidence as she doesn't believe what people tell her.

Eva always has a goal in mind and can and will adapt, change and work in order to get there. The female is persistent, save for some conversations. She has to be active and involved, and hates being useless or helpless, since it makes her feel like she is failing the people around her. As a result, Eva tries to do everything and bites off more than she can chew majority of the time. She feels her burden shouldn't be put on any one else, even through expressing her emotions and thus she isolates herself and harbors everything on her own. Though Eva does crave to find someone she can confide in and show her emotions to.

magic, weaponry, inventory
‹ magic vein ›
Evangeline is a sensorae user. She utilizes heightened senses to hunt down animals faster than most, meaning she doesn't have to hunt for long. The use of this magic has caused her physicality to be lower. If she over exerts herself, Eva receives an extreme migraine and has the sense she strained temporarily weakened. In severe cases, her sense is permanently damaged.
‹ weaponry ›
Years of being a major local hunter and supplying a plentiful amount of meat has caused Eva to be quite proficient in her chosen weapon, the bow and arrow. She hasn't used it in combat, though it won't take much to adapt. The bow is simple, but also top of the line.
She also has a small dagger, used for skinning animals and the like.
‹ inventory ›
Eva doesn't have much on her, except for a few hand picked useful items. Of course she has a full quiver of arrows, and her other weapons. The female also has some flint and steel, an old rusted compass, her mananite ring, a book listing a large range of animals and possible mutations, which also has some references to plants and other wildlife. And a small amount of food and water rations. She has a piece of her sister's clothing in case she has the chance to track Chiara's scent and only has the clothes on her back.
The item Eva would rather keep a secret is a small lute and journal, since she has interest in music that she doesn't like to share.

skills, interests, fears
‹ skills ›
She is a talented hunter and tracker, but has only ever done so on game. Her large amount of times spent in forests and fields makes Eva well-versed in traversing the wilderness. Eva is skilled in the use of her bow, and is quite adept at cutting animals, cooking their meat etc. Eva has a strange connection with said animals as well, despite being their predator and does care for them.
‹ interests ›
Evangeline has found herself intrigued into the workings of magic, and because of her trade, it's affect on animals and the world around them. But it isn't something she'd dedicate her life to.
The female has always had inklings of interest in music, and often wrote lyrics or songs in order to at least get her feelings out. She was able to afford a small lute and has begun pursuing music and has found - at least through her siblings, she has a good voice.
Travelling has always been a want for Eva - she wants to see the world, experience it. In a way, she gets some of this through her hunting as she can experience the wilderness, but Evangeline has yearned to explore.
‹ fears ›
Eva is afraid of her ability to let people down and fail, and is scared of what people would think if she isn't strong around them. Particularly, Eva fears her own emotions, simply because she feels they are wrong and she shouldn't feel that way. She doesn't want to be judged, either and is hung up on the fact that that is all people will do.
Her interest in exploration also links to a fear that if she doesn't, she may not have the chance to find herself. Eva also feels like she will be missing out on a part of life, in the same way she believes she has because of her inability to express her emotion as freely as some.
b a c k s t o r y
Evangeline and Chiara were the first borns to Joseph and Hazel di'Angelo, the Baron family of Bordissa. The parents felt blessed for the gift of two children, and this combined with their status resulted in the girls being treated exceptionally well. This treatment led to Eva and Chiara finding themselves above everyone else and thus they expected to be treated with respect, but didn't reciporate this to the other twins. On top of that, their father was corrupt. He skimmed money off of taxes and was otherwise a terrible overseer of Bordissa, for he did not care what happened to anyone else. However he had a charismatic talent, which managed to keep him afloat.

Joseph was on a trip to report to the wider council on Bordissa, but he was attacked and killed. The event is shrouded in mystery and no one really knows what happenend, since no one survived and it only got reported to the family weeks later. And without a boy old enough to lead the family, the di'Angelo family was declared unfit to oversee Bordissa. Another high status family was brought in from another location by the council, and so the di'Angelo's fell from grace and had to scavenge for themselves. Due to her mother only being able to get a few seam-stressing deals in town, Eva found herself step up to pick up the slack. She apprenticed with another hunter in Bordissa, before separating in order to get as much profit as she could, and also learning Sensorae magic to become an even more effective hunter. Chiara decided to go into Ghiaciel magic so the meat they got could last longer, which was appealing for sale.

Hazel was found to be pregnant not long after Joseph died, and during the time of carrying the baby, she was clearly sad but she managed to keep her hopes up from having one last child to remember her husband by. It was time for her to go into labor what seemed like years later, and Hazel was overjoyed once she finally gotten the baby out when the twins were 15. Until it struck her that she had a stillborn baby. She wept for days, and no one even dared to speak to her whilst she cried in her room. When she seemed to have recovered, Hazel emerged, walking past everyone and out the door. From the loss of two people she loved an impossible amount, Hazel turned to alcohol to drown out her pain. At that point, however, Chiara had already assumed a motherly role and figure for their younger siblings whilst Eva provided. Chiara's escape was through dance, and Eva merely built a stoic wall around her and acted strong so the rest of her family felt safe. After her sister's death, Evangeline couldn't shoot straight or properly for weeks due to her mind being enveloped in guilt, and she abused her magic in that period in an attempt to do better - which resulted in a permanently weakened sense of smell. And she hates the helpless feelings her emotions tend to spark within her.

Again, the di'Angelo family don't know what truly happened but Hazel got in a fight at the tavern and used her Ignal magic unlawfully. A protector rushed there, but not before the woman took her own life. This was reported to Eva and her siblings, who were given the belongings Hazel had. However, they never saw the body or were able to say goodbye as it was swiftly taken away to be decapitated. Among these belongings was a key, which Chiara speculated would unlock the small box under Hazel's bed which she'd found when cleaning one day. The main items of interest included a journal and two mananite rings. The twins recognized the rings as their parents wedding rings and now wear them due to sentimental value. As for the journal, it was written in a code - one Chiara is still trying to decipher. The whole family believes it might be the key to understanding the true fate of their parents.

After the incident with her mother, Eva found her skills fail her like they did with Georgia. She was so glad that she brought home enough food for a feast, and the four siblings were convinced that their life would get better, as long as they stuck together and worked with each other. This is what they have been doing ever since, with no more setbacks or problems coming their way. For a lot of her life, Eva wrote lyrics and has only recently begun to display her interests in music to her family despite her reluctance about it. Chiara was especially excited, thinking that they'd perform together one day. But before they'd have a chance, Chiara got taken.
a c q u a i n t a n c e s
‹ mother - Hazel di'Angelo (deceased) 42 ›
Hazel was loving and the best mother one could ask for in Eva's younger years, but as soon as the woman's husband passed she changed. It was clear she was sad, which transitioned into anger. Eva still loved her, but hated to see her suffering and in turn causing harm to the rest of the family. By the time of Hazel's death, one part of Eva knew the family would be better off, yet the other couldn't handle the grief.

‹ father - Joseph di'Angelo (deceased) 45 ›
Her father was a good man to his children and family, which causes Eva to love him unconditionally. But he was a terrible, corrupt one to everyone else, which causes her to hate him. Evangeline is conflicted about Joseph, and still hasn't managed to figure out her true feelings for him, so instead tries to forget him completely.

‹ twin sister - Chiara di'Angelo 19 ›
Chiara and Eva are inseparable. There is nothing they wouldn't do for each other, and Eva won't admit it, but Chiara is her main drive. Chiara is her other half, her arguably better half, and Eva feels incomplete without her. If someone even has a glimpse of a thought of hurting Chiara, Eva would show up ready to hurt them. She admires Chiara, and sometimes thinks she can confide in her, but loves her too much to burden her with Eva's own emotions.

‹ younger brother - Mason di'Angelo 16 ›
Mason is playful and rebellious, his smirk and expression always show that he is up to something. Whilst Eva disapproves of his growing playboy tendencies, she loves him dearly. He is one of the few who can make her laugh or smile genuinely, though she tends to resist to keep looking strong.

‹ younger brother - Arthur di'Angelo 12 ›
A follow the rules, book worm type of kid, Arthur is still incredibly innocent. However, he's shaping up to be an intelligent gentleman. Eva, of course, loves him unconditionally, but does dislike how much he reminds her of their father. Unfortunately, this causes her to prefer to ignore him and leave Chiara to care for him.

‹ younger sister - Georgia di'Angelo (deceased) 0 ›
Evangeline never got to meet her youngest sister. Her life had ended before it'd even begun. Eva blames this on herself, believing it must have been because she couldn't provide enough food and nutrients to her mother and couldn't get money fast enough.

Chiara di'Angelo
winter_on_the_way_by_selenada-d7y1wsb.jpg

Personality
Chiara is benevolent, kind and overall a warm girl. She is always seen smiling or helping someone out, and her bubbly attitude seems to lighten the path behind her. Chiara has an undying optimism and youthfulness to her that many even call exhausting. She just wishes to see the best in the world, knowing that if you look hard enough the good parts are always there. However, she is idealistic, causing her to be attentive to detail, hard working cautious with her actions. But her unreachable standards can weigh her down.

She is almost motherly in a sense, which isn't surprising considering she filled in that role. Chiara is supportive and altruistic, looking for ways where she can help, or just be a shoulder to cry on. She finds joy out of this, knowing people can be better off if she just continues doing what she does. Chiara's compassion helps fuel these traits. She can also have a tendency to want to control what people are doing, and micromanage them since she is used to taking care of her younger siblings and telling them what to do. Chiara does fight this urge, but can get quite annoyed if things are done wrong or in a stupid manner. Ironically, Chiara will not follow others' orders, as she likes to act independently and on her own accord.

Though, the Ghiaciel user isn't just a sweet girl, she has a dry sense of humor and is incredibly witty. She is often sarcastic, both in friendly manners and when she is annoyed. Chiara has high confidence as well, and is not afraid to speak her mind if her passion is telling her to do so, and especially cannot stand injustices.
Appearance
Chiara's hair has a very similar texture to her sister, locks that are wavy and some that are more on the curly side. It provides a uniquely messy look for her light brown hair which reaches about half way down her back. Her eyes sport a warm blue color with specks of brown which compliments her pale complexion. Chiara has soft features, including her jawline, slightly rosy cheeks and round lips.

She is also slim, with subtle womanly curves. Despite her weak looking figure, she is actually incredibly fit and strong, due to her dancing. Chiara stands at 5'6". She often wears her favorite piece of clothing - a dark blue coat with white fur lining.

Magic & Weaponry
Magic Vein
Ice/Ghiaciel. She incorporates the mesmerizing looks of snow and ice into her dance routines, and otherwise just uses her magic for any sort of odd jobs. As a result, she's extremely versatile. Chiara originally invested in this vein to compliment her twin's hunting. Use has made her body temperature slightly cooler than usual.

Weaponry
Chiara holds onto a katana and a small set of throwing knives, mainly because Eva insists she has to be ready to fight in this world. However, she is hardly proficient in them - especially when compared to her use of magic.

Apparel: Practical Traveling Garb; (See Inventory)

Physicality: Clothed in the deep brown skin that is indicative of her Meridanian heritage, amplified by exposure to the elements, Nadiya has a dark, exotic beauty rarely seen among the features of Nortalis women. Her bright eyes glisten with an emerald sheen over a sharp nose, and her long, thick hair falls over her shoulders in chocolate braids. Her features are curved but sharp, almost like swift water falling over the face of a jagged rock, flowing but firm. Her body is no less toned and carved, she prides herself on her athleticism fueled by her slender build and natural flexibility, honed over her years spent running, leaping, and climbing through every possible challenge the wilderness around Bordissa could offer her. Tall among the women of Nortalis, further estranging her from those to whom she lives nearest, standing among the men her age at six feet and two inches tall. She is like a young willow tree, slender and graceful in her limbs at first glance, but her core is solid and strong enough to hold her own in sport and combat. She has the strength to match a man in competition, wrestling arms and running races, though she does not have the sheer strength to lift weight and throw distance as those with more practiced muscle. Nadiya's most powerful aspect is her endurance and stamina, she may have the capacity for brute force as the men her age, but she can outrun, outlast, and outmaneuver any who challenge her. She is in her heart a survivor, bending under pressure, but never breaking, and when she roots herself like a great oak, Nadiya is immovable and unyielding under any circumstance.

~Beneath The Soil's Skin~
Tagline: 'Who Runs Among The Trees'

Personality:
Determined is the word Nadiya would most aptly use to describe herself, while many other would tend to prefer the term headstrong. She never wavers in her decisions, she brims with confidence and an almost cocky swagger in her manner. It is obvious she is out to prove herself, to show herself as worthy and capable of not only surviving, but thriving. She has no compulsion against speaking her mind, often coming across in conversation as honestly blunt or even blatantly rude, but she stands by what she says and never backs down from a dispute. She seems just as eager to exchange words as blows when it comes to them, but inwardly she wishes it came to either less often than they did, not often having the opportunity to show that beneath her spiny callous exterior, she is actually quite softhearted and caring if given the chance and a reason.

Nadiya seems to be conflicted between her two opposing attitudes attitudes. To the public eye, she is brash, loud, and more than her fair share of stubborn. While she is never the one to outright cause trouble or start a fight, she's definitely the first to hit back or help finish it, brawl or argument alike. Often she tries to break up a fight only to find herself perpetuating it further, it could be speculated that her motto may very well be "peace through force" in that she believes the only way a dispute is truly settled is through total submission from the other side. She has a thick skin with a thin breaking point, seemingly enduring personal insult and injury indefinitely, but once the line has been crossed, she lets loose with no second thoughts, no hesitation, and no remorse.

Despite this apparently hostile outlook, she was not always this way. Young Nadiya was a happy and carefree girl, up until she became aware of the differences that set her apart, her obvious Meridanian heritage earning her pointed stares and whispered gossip. She slowly developed her defense against the prejudice, closing herself off to protect a fragile young spirit and putting on a mask of fearless bravado and armed with insults of her own. Still, beneath her fortress of confident boldness, she has a tender soul and a caring heart for those who dare venture close enough to uncover it from her defenses. Befriending Nadiya is both a feat and a reward, her bond of loyalty and support to her friends and family is as unbreakable as her spirit, and she would give herself entirely to provide for and protect those who have earned her devotion.

Skills, Interests and Fears:
Fairly self-explanatory - at least one paragraph!
A talented outdoorsman, Nadiya has gained a great amount of survival lore from her experiences wandering in the wilds, from discerning direction by the sun and stars to telling which plants were good for eating or medicinal purposes. She prefers to spend extended periods in the wilderness when she can, living several days off the land and crafting shelter from the resources that grow in abundance around her. She loves the nature of growing things, the smell of the green leaves, the feel of rough bark on her fingers. Nadiya has focused her Agrirran magic towards the growing and cultivating of these wild plants at her whim and will, learning not from books and tomes on agriculture, but studying at the feet of towering oaks and lofty maples, gathering the secrets of creeping vines and whispering wildflowers. Time spent as far away from civilization as she dares stray is always time thoroughly enjoyed, she is often more at home among the residents of the forest than in her own village, stalking alongside the timid deer and climbing great trees to sit with the wise ravens. She has an explorer's heart, full of wanderlust and thrilled with new adventures, she relishes in the chance to test herself against challenges and obstacles wherever they present themselves. Some might call her free-spirited and wild, but deep inside, she has a fear, a dread of being not good enough, at anything. The reason she tackles any trial that comes her way is so she'll never be surprised or caught off guard. Failure is a spirit clinging to her back, driving her forward, she takes defeat hard and painfully, in any situation. For all her years of trying to prove that she is none of the insults and slurs that she imagines have been whispered behind her back her whole life, she's terrified that her making a single mistake will prove them to be true after all.

Backstory:
At least two paragraphs - it doesn't need to be all doom and gloom and tragedy necessarily though as our characters will have lived fairly regular lives (albeit in a highly irregular world). Include your character's current occupation.

While Nadiya's mother is a farmer and her father was a miner, Nadiya has always had the gritty feel of soil between her fingers and the smell of growing things filling her head. But unlike her parents, she was filled with wanderlust, an urge to venture beyond the restraints of bland fields and chill mineshafts. While her family lives in Bordissa's quaint village, Nadiya never really felt that it was her home, much more welcome among the great trees and secret paths of its outlying forest, it was both her paradise and her escape. While at home, Nadiya suffered through lessons and lectures. She is far more at ease and comfortable out in the wilds, living off of the fruits of the land and exploring its mysteries for herself than reading of them from some stuffy literature. Talented at making do with little and crafting what little she needs to survive from whatever is at hand, Nadiya is resourceful and thrifty, not a single item gone to waste. Her reason for doing so is simple, because she can, the fact that it also gives her an excuse to be away from the stifling streets of Bordissa is a pleasant benefit.

Since a tragic accident claimed her father's life and nearly her dear brother's, Nadiya has taken her family's burdens squarely upon her own shoulders. The citizens of Bordissa had always whispered behind her and her father's back, their apparent Meridanian heritage fueling the fires of gossip and dissent behind their backs. While her father painfully took every pointed stare quietly, Nadiya felt it shameful and did not hesitate to lash back with sharp insult or muttered curses in return. Often her father pleaded her to let go of her anger, not to let her rage turn her against the people of the village who had reluctantly taken him in years before, but she refused to heed his words, verging on calling him a coward for not standing up to these people.
Outwardly, she hates idle talk and wasted time, preferring decisive action and swift motion to provocative thought and tendered ideas. Perhaps this is a cover, a defense against the pointed looks and whispers many of the citizens of Bordissa give herself and her father, whose Meridanian heritage provides fuel for the fires of gossip and dissent. In keeping with her physical endurance and fortitude, Nadiya has grown a thick skin against such talk, occasionally lashing back with a sharp insult or a muttered curse, though her family has pleaded with her time and again to control her temper. The break line of her anger is wide but fragile, she will endure everything up to a point, but a single step across unleashes her full wrath in an instant. she has earned a reputation of being unstable, one moment calm and collected, the next being driven into a frenzy by a word.
