Nicolas took the glass happily, sips turning into chugs as he downed the whole thing. "Sometimes I wish that we were just enemies, and we took all that land on our own. All this work wouldve been nothing but a celebration. But no, we had to take the easy way out." At this point he was just mumbling and complaining to himself. He knew that after a couple more drinks he should head back, but that mostly depended on if he remembered it after those couple of drinks. He wasnt an alcoholic, but today that might change. "Mi querido, if only the rest of the world was as understanding as you. I shouldve just became an anti-banker like planned." He spun the glass around a bit, watching as the little drops left in it clung to the sides.

As Nicolas was drinking the champagne, Alicia already had a new glass out, a new alcoholic bottle, and now more equipment. Since he seemed to want to take the fast road to the forgotten land, she decided to give it to him, with a bit of a challenge to herself. The theme, an unwelcomed death.

Taking the bottle of champagne, she pour in half a glass, before stopping and pouring in beer, forming a two layered drink of golden brown above white. She then stirred it in the glass and pushed it forward. "Black Velvet." Jack pulled up to the cemetery address that was sent to him via text message a day ago by Micheal. Scanning his surroundings, he saw the Di Angelo's talking with each other and a lot of people. Some he didn't even recognize as members of any crime family, making them civilians, most likely.

"A lot of civilians." He muttered under his breath as he pulled out his IPAD, hacking into the cameras on the main cemetery hall. As he scanned the grounds, he started listing everybody that was present, making notes on a notepad.

Vito Coleletti,
Miranda Grave...
and so on and so forth.

After he was done, he got out the car, concealing his IPAD and Glock, and walked into the cemetery, keeping a wary eye on the important members of the Di Angelo family, as well as his own family.

Finally, he decided to talk to somebody, for looking and staring at random people might draw attention. He decided on Mariella, for she was always nice to him whenever they spoke.

"Hey Mariella, how is it going?" he said with a friendly smile and wave.

It was a light drive to the funeral. It sure was refreshing to chat about 'normal' things for once. The weather, the latest movies on screen, a sports match or a theater play, things most people who led ordinary lives would talk about in their free time. Gustavo couldn't relax much though, as he had to watch himself all the time so as not to slip and say something that could hint at the family's true business. It wasn't easy, as that was basically what great part of his life was about, and Mariella had clearly no idea. Of anything. But he made it to the cemetery's parking lot, and before he had time to get out of his seat the girl had already left the car. She was really a different one. He'd seen people with a lot less influential backgrounds acting in much worse ways than he'd initially expected for the big boss' daughter.

The green hills made for a beautiful sight, if it weren't for the graves standing against the horizon. Still beautiful, but also ominous. He liked beaches, farms, shopping districts, lively places, not graveyards. They had a weird energy to them, places that'd seen too much sorrow. Still he couldn't help but think of how ironic it was that the man died of a heart attack. Out of everything that could've killed a Mafia underboss, he had a heart attack. Life was unpredictable. "Guess it's never too late to stop smoking..." he muttered to himself with a small chuckle as they started to head to the area the funeral was taking place.

After the dark silhouettes showed up in the horizon, it didn't take Gustavo more than a couple of seconds to spot Ana among her siblings and some other members of the De Angelo family. He'd never mistake that golden blonde hair and hourglass shape he knew so well for anyone else in the world. She stood right next to the guy that was about to take over as the new underboss, so he was pretty sure they wouldn't be able to properly talk in that occasion. The good side was that it was the first time her brother would be in public as the underboss, so it could be a great opportunity to get a feel of him and his personality, maybe. Her younger brother he'd already spotted a couple of times, not in business gatherings but in parties, though he didn't know much about him either, other than his involvement in many assassinations for the De Angelo family. The other two people standing with them, the lawyer and the consigliere, he knew too, though mostly by name. He never had much to do with them, as he mostly carried on daily activities for the Coleletti family that didn't involve dealing with the De Angelo's.

Jack's voice pulled Gustavo back from his thoughts, and he looked in the direction it was coming to spot Jack walking up to them before they could arrive at where the rest of the people were. He didn't really expect to see Jack there, but it was a good surprise nevertheless. He wasn't sure who else was coming from the Coleletti family, since even Nicolas, who was the underboss, was probably not gonna show up.

"What's up, Jack?" he nodded with a small smile.

"I know You can handle yourself. That doesn't mean I'm not gonna worry," She added, before taking a seat in the back of her brothers car. She hasn't seen either of her brothers for a while, and she was a little bummed that Jackson hadn't said anything yet, but that was just the way he was. She could talk to him later, so for now she sat in silence. The rude of course didn't take long, and she soon found herself in a crowd of people, standing with her brothers as they put on a facade of sorrow, or at least, some sort of emotion. She was playing to the role of the "to many tears already", putting on her best for eyed look (woth the help of some artificial tears to make it a little more convincing). Empty words and half-hearted thanks, she was glad she could briefly drop the act when a woman she somewhat regconized approached their small group.

"Yes, but please, call me Ana," She said, taking the woman's hand, giving it a light shake before letting go. "He has, though not much." Zoe was someone Max seemed to do business with, though she details she didn't know. Plausibly deniability and so forth, it would be easier to fake innocence, should the need arise. Reguardless, another familiar face joined them, this time it being Mordecai. She greeted him with a soft smile, and tiny wave, knowing he was really talking to Max, as she let herself fall into silence. This allowed her to look around.

She spotted many familiar faces of course, footsoliders, a few lawyers, corrupt cops, etc. However, she also spotted a certain few people from the Coletti family. It wasn't a surprise really, her uncle had been working with them. However, she was a bit surprised to see Gustavo. What was he doing here? She actually was going to go and greet him, but almost instantly knew that would be a very bad idea. So, there she stood with her brother's, completely unsure of what to do.

Being a man of eventual French origin, Mordecai picked up a few things from his childhood in France, and one being to offer a kiss on the hand of a woman from a gentleman. As much as Mordecai did gruesome work, he always thought of himself as a gentleman above all. Professionalism was key in his line. It was why the mafia didn't run around in shorts and T-shirts.

He quickly turned his attention from Max for a moment to Anastasia, extending an open palm in offering of the gesture of chivalry.

"My apologies," He mentioned, "I did not mean to ignore you, Miss." Where possible, Mordecai avoided names in front of others. Only on one-on-one occasions or when he had no other choice, names would be revealed. To him, everything was sensitive information.

Mariella smiled softly as Jack approached her. She was pleased that there were more people that she would know here. Still, there was a bit of shock evident on her face, though. She hadn't expected him to be here. She knew that the man was a family acquaintance, but she didn't exactly know if he was involved with her father's business. Jack was an employee of her father, that much Mariella knew. However, she didn't know exactly what his work entailed, the same way that she didn't know what exactly Gustavo's job was.

"Hello, Jack," said Mariella kindly. "I'm good, thanks. How're you? I wasn't expecting you to be here. Did you know the man?"

As he took the glass this time, he decided to savor it. Even though his high tolerance for alcohol was something to brag about, he's rather not compete against himself. Alicia was a skilled bartender no doubt about it, it was a pity he was drinking from stress and not pleasure. "Yes, I suppose that would have been much worse." Another sip, it was difficult to control his pace at this point. "Though I wouldnt talk so soon." At this he started to furrow his brows, being dragged back into thought. Things were going to either be generally normal for the most part, or a lot of meetings would be in place. And the one thing Nicolas hated more than green savory foods were tense meetings.

Coriander Coriander [/div][/div] [div class=AliciaContent]Alicia paused what she was doing as she was preparing the next cocktail. It was only a moments pause before she moved her hands once again, letting her eyes once again smile softly.

"Then let us not concern ourselves with the future. You are here to relax! And that is what you shall do."

Alicia pushed forward a peach tinted cocktail filled with crushed ice. A champagne cocktail, hopefully to temper Nicolas's attempts at knocking himself before Alicia could find another talking partner.

"Death in the Afternoon. Now tell me, anything new aside from work?" Maxwell had only been at the funeral for only 20 minutes and people were already flocking to him to say their condolences or ask questions that you ask people when you only see them once a year. Talking to people was not one of max's strengths and he gave each one a short answer that seemed cold. He didn't mean to come off cold, it was just how he was.

After escaping the questions from his distant relatives, Max joined back up with his siblings who were talking to Mordecai and Zoey. They were the only two people that he was actually looking forward to talking to since they were important pieces in his plan. Unfortunately he was only to say a polite greeting to each before his security team called him over. Max walked over to a bunch of bulky men all dressed in black with fancy earpieces and guns holstered on their sides. Max made sure to get a tight security presence since his family is one of the biggest crime families in Starlight Shores. They informed him of some Coleletti members have appeared and asked Max what he wanted to do. He decided that if they are watched closely, then they can stay as he didn't want to put on a big show of them getting kicked out. Also he knew that they were smart enough not to create a huge scene with so many civilians around. What didn't surprise Max was that their underboss Nicholas was not there. From the little interaction he had with the man, he didn't look like the type to go to big social events if he was not forced to go. Hell if Max wasn't putting on his funeral, he wouldn't even be here.

After talking with his security team he walked over to the chains nicely lined up chairs in rows and grabbed a seat. The funeral services were about to start and Max just wanted to get this over with as soon as possible.

Johnny Verone was sitting on the hood of his car, waiting at the back of the cemetery, he lit a cigarette and took a puff. He may have been Maxwell's friend, but he was first and foremost his driver, and so especially at a big event like this he had to be ready to go at any moment. He took another puff of his cigarette and nodded at a security guard he had made eye contact with.

He to hoped this would be over as soon as possible, of course for a different reason than Maxwell. Johnny craned his head in an attempt to hear the priest, but he only caught the odd word, sighing he just allowed himself to zone out, smoking and thinking He was thinking about his mother in prison, and his dad also buried six feet under. He took a final drag of the cigarette and threw it down, stepping on it with his foot. He walked to the side of the car, pacing in attempt to fight off boredom.

After greeting Jack, Gustavo stepped over to where the De Angelo's seemed to be talking. He was glad he wasn't actually representing anyone but himself at the funeral. So even though his image would undoubtedly be associated with the Coleletti family, he wouldn't have to engage in any type of conversation that wasn't purely casual. His bosses would arrange to have that much needed business conversation later. Right now, all he was doing was protecting Mariella and paying his personal respects to the deceased underboss of the (until now at least) allied family.

He had to force himself not to let his gaze drift too much to Anastasia, but thankfully he was an expert at that by now. And as much as he deeply hated that, he'd have to greet her as if she was not much more than an acquaintance. For now, at least, as there were so many others with her.

"Morning." He nodded at the present as he approached the small group, glancing at Max, who'd just stepped away. "My condolences." he said, first turning to Ana and offering her a handshake, but glancing up and hoping to meet her gaze for an instant before shaking hands with the others.

Ana extended her hand out, placing it breifly on Mordecai's palm, chuckling slightly at the gesture. "It's alright, you technically weren't ignoring me." She like this man, though they weren't close. He was always one of the more upstanding men working under her father, despite the line of work. She always admired that about him. After a few moments, she drew her hand away, giving him a smile.

After that, Ana fell quiet, an odd occurrence really when it came to Ana, but she didn't really have anything to say. The people she was standing with continued to talk, Ana barely listening as, occasionally nodding or shaking her head when she was addressed. She was actually about to head inside, either to look for a drink, or to find somewhere to hide for a few minutes when Gustavo approached their little group. Her hear skipped a beat for two reasons. First off this was the first time they had seen each other in the past few days, so she was excited (but hiding it well). And secondly, it was probably a bad idea for him to be there, but she couldn't say anything about that.

When he extended his hand to her, she took it, shaking it slightly as her eyes met his. "Thank you," She replied, though her voice was rather quiet. Ana would quickly look away from him, "If you'll excuse me, I'll be heading inside," she told the group, before stepping away and walking off. She felt a little neaous, now from worry, by she knew everything would be alright. Or should be at least. Her brother wasn't one to act brashly, at least when there were civilians like herself around, no matter who's side they were on. She could count on that at least.

Anyway, once inside, she was greeted by various family members and people who worked for her father, all giving their condolences and what not. It took a few minutes to work through them, and even longer to find not only a drink, but a somewhat quiet place. She may be underage, but who was gonna argue with her she wanted to drink some Rosé. No one, that's who.
