Vastra is usually very calm and reserved, always being very serene. She was also brutally honest and made it a point to make sure others were as well. She is also very protective and loyal. She will fight valiantly with great passion. Another trait of hers is that she treats humans lesser than other species. She doesn't hate humans, she's just doesn't treat them as nice as others. But there are some humans she has feelings for. All of these traits are thrown away when certain things happen. When someone she feels extreme passion for is hurt, she will go insane. She will become less and less calm and be extremely aggressive with everyone.

Vastra is a Silurian detective who lives in Victorian London with her human maid Jenny Finch, who help her solve her mysteries. Eventually, she was called by someone she had a debt for, The Doctor to assist in a battle. There, she met Strax, a Sontaran nurse who joined Vastra as her butler, who would also help with their investigations. Eventually Jenny and Vastra married and had many more investigations together, also helping the Doctor on many adventures he has.
