Lupo

Wolf Wolf

The Dovahkiin

Name:

Lupo

Age:

Young Adult

Gender:

Male

Status:

Epsilon

(If no one signs up for Lead Epsilon, I would be willing to do so.)

Personality:

"Wolves are like dens. They wear down. If you don't do anything about that, they get destroyed."

Lupo may seem a bit "soft" to those with stronger and stricter personalities. He is outgoing, sometimes playful, and optimistic. He's very patient, caring, and protective of those he holds dear. He may seem like he's an easy target for intimidation, but he knows how to stand his ground. As an Epsilon, he is a keen observer. While helping raise his younger brother, he developed a sense of caution and a good eye for possible dangers.

Backstory:

Memory: Lupo doesn't really remember much about his past. The earliest memory he can dig from the back of his mind is about him trotting after his mother, who had his younger brother by the scruff of the back of his neck.

His time with the Western Waters as a pup: Lupo's parents were from one of the Continental Packs, the Western Waters. His father was a Selsa while his mother was a Zeta. They met one day after Henry (his father) got back from a recent hunt. He was wounded and Reyna (his mother) was called upon to treat him. Their romantic interest in each other developed quickly and when Reyna gave birth to Lupo, they couldn't wait to see their firstborn pass the Test. It was something every Western Water wolf must do in order to test their worth. After a moon phase had passed, Lupo was settled into the running water. The Alpha used a small river that some wolves used to actually play in, but its waters were still strong enough for small pups to be taken away by the current. His parents waited with bated breath for him to resurface and swim his way towards them.

He popped his head out of the water and saw the rest of the pack staring at him, but he focused on his parents. He could feel himself getting farther and farther away from them. Lupo felt an unknown feeling (Perhaps it was fear? Anxiety? He didn't know.) envelope him. With nothing else to do, he panicked and thrashed around the river. Unbeknownst to him, his movements allowed him to get closer and closer to land until he felt himself get scooped up by his relieved parents.

After two more moon phases, Lupo had a second and final test to complete. "Excellence starts when you are young," said the Alpha. Lupo was lowered into a river once again. This time, it was a wider river with a stronger and faster current than the previous one. If he succeeds in getting back to land, he would be officially welcomed into the pack, and he would earn the right to be called a Western Water wolf. Lupo had actually almost drowned, but after several strenuous paddles of his legs, he passed the final test.

The Incident (moon phases after the final test): The Western Waters pack was known for its territory being surrounded by several rapid rivers. It is both a blessing and an unfortunate obstacle for a certain wolf. Henry had suddenly come running out of the forest with several wounds on his sides. He had lost a lot of blood. He was just on a hunt with other Selsas when a group of Bare Furs ambushed them. With sharp and long sticks as weapons and numbers greater than theirs, it didn't take long for the Selsas to go down one by one. Henry was one of the "lucky" few who had managed to escape. When he reached the rivers though, his adrenaline rush had faded away and his injuries took their toll on him. With barely enough strength to cross to the other side, he was taken away by the currents.

When Reyna received the news of what happened, she was devastated. Lupo, who didn't know anything about the concept of death yet, wasn't affected all that much, though he did miss his father. Lucio, who was already given birth to at that time, simply sat there and stared, trying to comprehend the sight of his mother weeping. A few nights passed, and and Bare Furs had somehow made their way into their territory. With sticks and stones sharper than their own claws, the higher and defending ranks fended off the invaders and told the others to find a safe place. They would return to them after showing the bears what being a Western Water wolf truly meant.

Reyna took their command to heart and brought Lupo and Lucio away from the ongoing battle. She didn't know where she was going to go, all she knew was that they had to keep her pups safe.

Growth: Lupo grew up being a sort of caretaker for his mother and brother. His mother's field of expertise was on healing herbs, but she knew the basics of hunting. She taught him what she knew and Lupo began to hunt smaller animals to feed his family. When his mother started to feel tired, he felt like it was his responsibility to ensure that she and Lucio lived in comfort. He would dig burrows, find spots under vegetation, and make small dens for them while they moved around.

They didn't have the heart to continue the Western Waters tradition of the swimming test. So, when Lucio was old enough to hunt, Lupo would bring him along to hunt bunnies or any minor creature near their area of stay. This continued on for a while, until they discovered the Borealis while they were looking for a place to build a new den.

Family:

Reyna - mother (alive) - adult

Henry - father (deceased) - adult

Lucio - brother (alive) - adolescent

Mate/Crush:

He has a minor crush on Leila, though it stems from the fact that he looks up to her and respects her.

Pups:

None.

Appearance:

Lupo is a bit larger than an average wolf that is covered with gray fur on his upper body and white on the inside of his ears, his muzzle, underbelly, legs, and paws. His eyes are a bit yellowish and they often glint when he sees something interesting.

Extra:

None at the moment.

I love his backstory! You clearly put a lot of thought into it- He's accepted! Would you like him to be Lead Epsilon?
