Parents: Francis Stone/Hotstreak (Father) – Sam Zdenek (Biological Mother) – Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy (Adoptive Mother)
.ersonality:.
Luke is a confident self contained person although he has never been very good at making friends. It isn’t that he’s antisocial exactly, so much as he just…isn’t good about approaching other people. He’s willing enough to talk to anyone who comes up to him however, and comes off as polite enough if a bit on the distant side. Mostly he prefers to be calm and unshakable and to a great extant succeeds. Given that his father had a temper, and to some extant Luke inherited that, he considers it quite a feat. Of course, a lot of it comes from the fact that with the exception of a few select buttons, he isn’t going to be bothered with others opinions.
Clever, dedicated and with a perchant for multitasking, Luke does well with any sort of academic endeavor. Combined with a wicked ability to plan Luke also does well with money and investing. He does best with plans that have some sort of indication that they are working in the short term although he can pretend to have some form of patience. In situations that don’t allow for planning he prefers to let others who have better luck lead, or if pushed likes to “make educated leaps of faith”.
He finds comfort in nature, and can find stability by burying his hands in soil. It tends to work even better if it is a garden he has worked with before, like one of his green houses. Simply spending time out in the sunlight relaxing can also have a centering effect.
.:History:.
As it turns out, being the child of a bang baby is not a great thing, especially if the father happens to be Hotstreak, and the child is a bastard child. Luka is somewhat unsure if Hotstreak even knows he had a kid, and given the last time he saw his birth mother, he isn’t likely to find out unless he comes face to face with the first generation bang baby.
Right from the beginning, Luka was less than an ideal child. His mother wasn’t really in the most stable position to be having a child, let alone a child that set things on fire when he was even the least bit upset. That Luka had his father’s patience and temper really didn’t help. Unwilling to actually involve Hotstreak, Luka’s mother instead tried to handle things on her own and to some extant she did manage to succeed. Luka was able to bring things down to the point where he wasn’t setting the table on fire every morning. He really did try, as much as such a young child could try. Still, it wasn’t enough. He was tossed out of multiple daycares, schools, and clubs for setting fire to things, with people labeling him as an arsonist.
The more the accused him and stressed him and his mother out the more his powers went out of control, until he really was arrested for being an arsonist at the age of 12. Rather unfortunately, during the whole ordeal he reacted about as is expected of a child in jail (even if it was actually one of the chief’s offices) and he started crying. Really, really unfortunately at the time, when Luka cried, he exploded…literally.
Fleeing the burning building, he tried to go home. Further destroying what little stability that he had, his mother started yelling at him even before he got to the door. Luka turned and ran before he could burn that house too, fleeing towards the something abandoned, somewhere far from buildings that he could further damage. He actually ended up getting completely lost before crawling off into a nice sheltered place to cry.
It was there that Poison Ivy found him, having to come investigate who was setting her precious plants on fire. She had expected to find some punk teenager, and was shocked to find the boy curled up in the sooty remains of his clothing, each tear flaring into sparks and flame. Rather than be repelled, she reached out to him. Luka was taken back to her home, calmed down and taken care of. When he could, without making anything explode, he explained what had happened to the nice lady.
Once she had listened, Poison Ivy offered him a chance. She could try to turn him into one of her children and suppress his fire. It was a chance that Luka took without a hint of hesitation. A seed was embedded into him (specifically into his appendix) and after a few days, it started to grow. The process was painful, and made Luka sick to the point where Ivy feared he would die. Instead, he survived, and at the end of a month rose from bed as a new being, a plant hybrid although the process didn’t make him as powerful as the original.
Ivy continued to raise him as her own, to the point that she showered him in love and affection and even arranged for him to be taught by various tutors so that he could complete his education. Something that he pulled off at the age of 17 with multiple AP test credits and a high school on the GED. Ivy allowed him to join collage happily, although now that he was an adult, she had other plans for him as well.
Luka took to being her pawn well, although that isn’t a surprise considering he was for all points and purposes one of her creations. Luka literally couldn’t say no to her.
He was allowed a fair amount of freedom however, so long as he got the results that she wanted. What she wanted was simple enough too, make sure that she had enough money for whatever endeavor she wanted. At first, Luka did this through robbery, although later, as he advanced in his collage courses he started on a different path. After all, if there was no league to fear after the whole Alcatraz thing, why not think big?
Ambition, wit, and a degree in Civil Engineering combined and allowed Luka to build intricate hidden greenhouses across the city. Having not only minored in green energy but having actively put the knowledge into use, he even ensured that every greenhouse ran off the grid. Within the course of a year, Luka had acted as Ivy’s hand to corner the market on illegal plants like Marijuana and Opium poppy in Gotham. The cash flow ended up being fairly impressive, further supplemented by legal activities such as improving the greenhouses and crops of local vegetable and other plant growers. Interestingly, one of the greatest legal incomes for Ivy was Luka’s personal greenhouse. A feat of engineering, the greenhouse is two stories above ground, and sits on top of an two story underground greenhouse. Both portions are run on an entirely aquaponics system with each section containing 750 cubic feet of tank space, and some 1300 sqft of growing beds. The upper greenhouse predominantly grows tomatoes, strawberries, cabbage, and other plants used by the farmers market and the nearby restaurants.
Of course, Ivy isn’t always content to let him play with his projects, as successful as he is with them. She does occasionally bring him in on her illegal schemes when she needs someone who she knows isn’t capable of betraying her.

.:Super:.
Abilities:
Plant Hybrid
- Agrokinesis – The control of plants such as rapid growth, movement, and death. It is somewhat limited in that he can only grow and control plants in the immediate vicinity or from seeds. Drops of his blood can give rise to plants as well, although it isn’t an ability he actively uses given that which plants come up is completely out of his control. Lilies and Geraniums tend to be the most common although if a fair amount of blood is spilled it can turn into more impressive breeds like English Ivy or clover.
- Plant Modification – His ability is nowhere near Ivy’s. To start he can’t modify them off the bat, instead it takes days of trial and error. Even with that he is mostly limited to changing minor things. Flower color, leaf pattern, and other minor appearances. He is also capable of convincing the plants to produce toxins, making them poisonous. This process can take weeks, and requires a fairly good idea of the kind of toxin structure he wanted to create.
- Toxin Resistance– Like Ivy, Luke shows a certain resistance to poisons and other toxins. Where hers seems to be a complete immunity however, his tends to be on the side of simply not letting him die or actually lose anything while experiencing a good amount of the symptoms (dependent upon the type of toxin involved and how the symptoms very based one other physiological aspects). He can develop immunity to specific toxins if exposed enough times, and does in fact seem to just shrug off many of the organic toxins that Ivy uses, given her habit of dosing him any time that he displeased her.
- Physiology – Due to his unique hybrid nature, energy in general as well as things such as O2 and CO2 are used more efficiently allowing him greater endurance and some immunity to some toxic gases and pollutants
§ Pseudo Science: While he is far from the state of Poison Ivy, Luke does gain several benefits from his plantlike physiology. Namely Luke makes use of a significantly larger portion carbon dioxide produced by cellular pathways that would otherwise be expelled as waste. This isn't to say that he requires less air, and breathes at a pretty normal level. Rather, his body uses oxygen, as well as carbon dioxide more efficiently than the standard human. This is further reflected in the levels of various molecules found in the air he breathes out, as well as even in his blood or tissue. Combined with his naturally higher temperature, this environment creates some very unique reaction capabilities. An example being that even during strenuous exercise there is little buildup of lactic acid in his muscles due in large part to the various reactions involving CO2 and his bodies heat that create O2 as a product, bypassing the need to rely on anaerobic pathways as much. ((With any buildup being taken care of via the normal pathways such as lactate dehydrogenase converting it into pyruvate so that it can enter the Kreb's cycle, or by transport through the blood to the liver to undergo gluconeogenesis.)) Through this, Luke is able to move for an extended period of time that definitely falls into the inhuman spectrum. This does have its limitations however, in that lacking enough chloroplasts to really make a difference (really only managing to counter the energy required to keep his body temperature up), this reaction is limited to how fast the conversion can happen via heat, and how much stored energy is readily available. Stored energy generally requiring replacing at a later time via eating a lot and resting. Luke is also capable of taking in airborne gases that would otherwise be toxic in higher quantities and converting them into usable forms. An example being that any CO (carbon monoxide) that he takes in is converted CO2 through oxidation and fixation, keeping the toxin from reaching lethal levels in his bloodstream.
Second Gen Bang Baby
- Pyrokinesis – While it was heavily dampened by Ivy’s techniques, the genes that he received from his father remain. There is also remnants of the powers, allowing Luke the ability to ignite certain things if they are touching him, as well as other minor parlor tricks: turning his finger into a light, snapping to create a hairline streak of flame. One of the more intimidating uses, is the ability to ignite certain objects, such as his whip although the tip tends to go out if he cracks it.
- Physiology – Luke’s body temperature remains fairly high, running somewhere around 102-103F. He appears to be resistant to any sort of normal illness or infection although some debate if that ties to fire or Ivy. Certainly anything that can’t survive in hot temperatures doesn’t take hold in him.
- Heat Resistance – Given that he himself was and to an extant still is a fire user, he has an immunity to his own flame, and generally anything up to his own flame although going beyond starts to get into the serious injury territory. – Pretty much anything up to about 622F (The melting temp of lead)
Weaknesses:
- Sterile environments – Environments where nothing is found or nothing is able to grow strain him, and while this may be a mental thing, the inability to grow any form of plant is very real, and depending on the environment his fire may be incapable of catching hold of anything either. Because of this, should he ever need to be contained, something like a heat tolerant plastic or a steel jail cell would probably work pretty well.
- Emotion – As emotion, hopes, dreams, and whatever else affects even the small amount of fire he has directly, control is essential.
- Poison Ivy – Being that he is not only part plant, but is part plant because of her, Luke cannot actually deny her. He simply cannot find the will to so much as think about denying whatever it is she asks of him, with no regard to his personal morals.
- Cold – As it turns out, neither fire nor plants are that fond of cold. The colder it is the more lethargic and in general stiff he is. Luke is also far more inclined to be still and dormant, or to cuddle into people.
Casual Outfit: Lucas generally dresses semi formally. His theory is that he likes to make a nice impression on everyone he meets as the connection may prove useful. He does prefer to wear jeans, wearing normal blue jeans at work and when at home. In somewhat more formal situations, like meetings, he will wear black jeans to give a more streamlined formal look. His shirts are generally collared button up and depending on the season short or long sleeve, usually rolled up so that there is no worry that it will get caught in anything. In more formal situations he will stay to solid color, although at home and on worksites, he shows a distinct fondness for plaids. He has a fondness for cooler weather, as it allows him to wear one of his jackets. He is quite fond of a worn leather jacket with a faux fur edging. Boots are pretty much a must in every part of his wardrobe.
Costume: His outfit is more or less based on his more formal appearance, a rather showy version of it. He has a knee length black leather coat. Custom fitted across his shoulders, it also hugs his waist, flaring out past it. The liner of the coat is also custom made. The silk liner has numerous pockets sewn into it, designed to hold the large number of seeds. All of them are those that he can bring up in a short amount of time to something incredibly useful (although perhaps not in a fight). His shirt is always a button up collared shirt in a dark color, preferably black or a natural tone that matches with nature. He wears a mask when he’s doing super things. It covers from his forehead, down over his cheekbones, and back to his ears, flaring up and back. It is done in something of a vine like design made up of red and green.
Weapons:
Whip - Luke is particularly fond of using a whip made of a rose vine, the rose vine itself grown from one of the seeds he carries on him. There is apparently multiple variations of the rose whip, which include one that the thorns are turned towards the tip he uses in practice so that they don’t dig into the skin. The variation he uses in battle has the serrated thorns turned towards the handle so that they dig into a rip any skin or cloth they come up again. There is a third variation which he no longer grows, which he used under Ivy that included one of her poisons that was produced from the thorns.
