Being a Grandmaster Ludwig has found the perfect balance between using weapons and magic. Though in his older state he prefers to use magic.
ARMOR/APPAREL:
Ludwig tends to stay away from the front lines, so he only wears clothing. Most of his clothing isn't restrictive so that he can move freely in battle.

Classes that mainly use axes and classes with low resistance.

Stronger lance user's with high defence and resistance.

PERSONALITY
Compared to his son Ludwig is quite different. Being a Grandmaster and having years of experience in the military has caused Ludwig to become quite clever and intelligent. You should always be at least 10 steps in front of your enemy. Before going into retirement Ludwig was known for being brutal on the battlefield. History tactics worked quickly and effectively, leaving all his enemies dead in his path. Though growing older has changed hum, he's more toned down now and he acts as a father figure to other, helping then with their problems and making sure that everyone stays in order. Even if he is a smartass 50% of the time.
HISTORY/BIO
Born into a high class Valken Noble family Ludwig lived the life of luxury and fortune. His parents forced him to read and countless hours with tutors on different subjects, history, mathematics, and even strategy. It didn't take long for Ludwig to become a prodigy, he could learn anything that was thrown at him. He started with magic, learning how to use them effectively. He favored wind tomes as he loved to watch the Magic fling his enemies. Ludwig then picked up Swordplay, and in a few years he was a capable fighter.
At 16 Ludwig signed up to the military, and after a few years as a guard Ludwig was promoted to the royal guard and in no time Ludwig befriended a young prince who would later become a king. Even though Ludwig was around the same, and two maintained a friendahip even when Ludwig became a Tactician for the military, and in a few years he rose through the ranks to become a general.
At the time Valken was rather peaceful, but there were still bandits roaming around the Outlands. The poorly Equip effort bandits were no match for the Valken military, but with the help of Ludwig's tactics it minimized casualties on his side. Pretty soon Ludwig was growing older, his childhood friend became a king, got married, and started to have kids while Ludwig continued his work as a General.
That all changed when he met a girl in the Outlands. It was apparent that Ludwig had fallen for this girl, even if she came from a poor family with little to no money, but that didn't matter to Ludwig. Ludwig's family was furious about their sons lover, saying that he shouldn't waste his time on trash like her. They threatened to banish him from their family, but Ludwig continued to see the girl and the two got married. Ludwig abandoned his last name, and took on his wife's surname "Drake" and the two settled down on a farm and had two sons.
Now with one of his sons joining the war, and his old friend disappearing this old general is joining he fight again.
