b287a8aa5a98ab552d89c4f897f231b9.jpgWould today too be a day of celebration? A day as ubiquitous as they come. An uninspired day that mimicked yesterday, and would no doubt be a signifier of what was to come tomorrow. Yes for as drool as the day may be, it was worth celebrating for one reason: It was a day spent living, spent alive. Surely that was something worth drawing attention to, not for any positive sentimentality, no. The fact that his dull eyes opened to greet the light of a new day was because he chooses to reject the lull of eternal sleep. By his own will, he rejected the lingering demon's whispers, and that was alone cause for celebration. Surely.

So today again his tired eyes graced the morning light, and today again he hated it. Tossing and turning, groaning under sheets of silk and thrown satin. It was time to greet the day. And greet the day he did from the bed surrounded by books and the shelves that held them. Eyes assaulted by the scripts and stories of races here and gone. Slowly, he raised himself from the bed placed within the library of his mansion. Taking only a few steps forwards to the nearby desk, he got to work. Reading and writing the scrawl on scrolls that laid on his desk.

Truly. Today was another day worth celebrating. Another day locked away. Waiting for the page to turn, his bread to come, and the sun to fall.

Today! Today was the day that she was finally going to get a client. Kiana was confident in her ability with cooking pastries, she just needed a customer to believe in her. Ever since escaping the war and moving to the Demon Capital, life has been harsh on the poor girl. From almost getting robbed multiple times, to having to hide her identity and go a few days without food. However she did not once allow this misfortune to displace her confidence, even now she was lucky enough to nap a job as a simple bread runner for a nearby bakery.

The young witch looked across the street, in a daze. She never imagined the manor to look bigger up close compared to the pictures she had seen in the news article. This was the place where that famous "ice king" lived right? She had heard rumors about just how unnatural he was compared to the other nobles from her other co-workers. He was just as cruel, not even batting an eye when he was viciously punished a servant for damaging his garden. Or that's how the rumors go. Overall, this was someone that she couldn't afford to offend in any way.

Hearing the door open, the brunette watched as a young demon Butler walked onto the porch. "Ms. Snow, I presume? His lordship is awaiting his delivery in his private study." His judgemental eyes swept over her form as if he were dealing with a simple housefly. Too frightened to even respond, Kiana simply nodded her head as she kept her eyes downcast away from the demon. 'Let's just deliver the bread and go.' Kiana took a deep breath as she was lead inside with her breadbasket in hand.
