lee gayoung was born in busan, south korea, as the older of two daughters. growing up in a simple family home, neither her childhood nor school years were particularly remarkable, save for the few piano competitions she participated in in her youth that produced varying results. her last competition was in her first year of high school, when she realised she was far more interested in composing than performing.

gayoung moved to seoul for university, and graduated from snu with a degree in composition and a minor in korean language & literature. she is currently a full-time webtoon artist, with both of her comics licensed and distributed by naver. gayoung has never taken an official art class in her life but has been a hobby artist since young. she started posting her first comic during her final years in college, was signed shortly after graduating, and she's pleased to see that it ended up a semi-hit. though her previous comic was a thriller, she's decided to venture into the genre of romance for her current project— her time at love catcher is, in her words, for research. gayoung has spent most of her life (unfortunately) single, a fact she doesn't particularly enjoy sharing.

Jihoon was born in Daegu, South Korea, as the oldest son of a pretty much regular family, where his father was an accountant and his mother was a nurse. Growing up, Jihoon was a regular student with good grades; but he was definitely not at the top of his class and played baseball all the way until high school. Since he was young; he always had a fond spot towards animals and since he was a child, he knew he wanted to become a veterinarian.

He moved to Seoul and graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in veterinary; it didn’t take long until he started working in a clinic and started his life as a professional. But as time passed, he had gotten busier and love wasn’t part of his plans until his sister pointed out the lack of romance in his life. So he joined love catcher to find love and to irk his younger sister because of his methods to find a girlfriend.

the first thing to know about ahn junhwi is that he goes, resolutely, at his own pace. he is, to put it nicely, a free spirit. put otherwise, he's simply headstrong and, after twenty-seven years, it's clear there's no changing that about him. once you accept that, befriending junhwi comes quite naturally; though he may come off chic upon first glance, most are quickly persuaded by his relaxed countenance that he is far more personable than he initially seems, and takes himself far less seriously. self-assured, well-mannered and light-hearted, there are few hurdles to getting along with him, once you get over his cold impression, and it's evident from the large social circles he has in every country he's lived.

A middle child sandwiched between two sisters, Junhwi was born in Seoul, 1995, on what his mother describes as a delicate winter's day (though weather reports of heavy rain suggest different). He lived there for all of two years before moving to the United Kingdom, along with his parents' shared business, where he and his siblings grew up in a gorgeous suburban home snuggled within the sentimental streets of Chelsea, London.

After high school, Junhwi, better known then as Xavier, pursued an education in art history in UCL and later moved to Paris to further his studies in art management & direction. Though most believed that he would end up settling in France, especially when he landed a job in the Musée d'Orsay after graduation, he instead moved once more at twenty-five years old, back to South Korea, in the footsteps of his older sister.

Currently, Junhwi works at the MMCA Seoul as a curator, with dreams of setting up his own gallery in the future — a future that, foreseeably, involves no marriage or even much romance, which is something his parents, in typical Asian fashion, worry greatly about.

Yoon Sunoo was born on a nice sunny afternoon of , one very fitting for his name. As is the case with many high-level athletes of today, he began his Olympic journey from the moment he could walk. His older sister Seolmin had begun taking figure skating lessons and their mother had to bring almost 4 year old Sunoo to one of the lessons one day since the babysitter had fallen through. Well, little Sunoo spent the entire time with his face pressed up against the glass, watching with rapt attention. He was signed up for his own lessons the next day.

The raw talent he possessed for skating was clear to anyone who watched him. Though young, he was an elegant and graceful skater that had an incredibly strong passion and dedication for the sport. Competition was often left behind in his wake and it was clear to his coach and family that he needed to broaden his horizons.

So, Sunoo packed his bags and relocated to the United States in order to train with US Olympian Figure Skaters (and Canadian whenever he’d fly to Toronto for a few weeks). It was hard, balancing online school plus all of the training he had to do but he learned how to manage it and succeed. Soon he began to compete at his first important international competitions and actually did quite well.

After competing in the most recent Olympic games and earning a silver medal in the Mens Single Skating, Sunoo moved back to South Korea. Though he’s still in love with skating, he isn’t sure if he still wants to compete at the level he’s been doing so for so long. He’s going to take a few months off to decide.

the park family celebrated the birth of their daughter on 27th of february, who would remain an only child, much to her own disappointment. eunji grew up in damyang and spend most of her childhood there, before moving to Seoul with her family when she was 11 years old. it was a whole different environment and feeling like a bit of a wildflower among roses, she had trouble making friends in school. being timid didn't help much either as it made her an excellent target of being picked on.

young eunji's best time of the day was spending it with her aunt, who watched over her for a couple of hours after school till one of the parents picked her up. her aunt owned a flower shop nearby where she often got to help arrange pretty flowers. it is where her love for flowers got cultivated and where eunji learned the most about the different flora. even after she was old enough to stay home alone, eunji visited her aunt's flower shop and helped around. and upon insistence of her aunt, she eventually got paid for her hours there as well.

originally, eunji didn't plan on becoming a flowershop owner despite her passion for it, instead pursuing a business administration degree. things only changed when her aunt had ended up in the hospital with a broken hip and asked her what she thought about taking over the shop. eunji was hesitant at first, but knew that the flowershop would most likely close if she declined; her aunt was getting old and didn't put trust in others easily.

in the end, encouraged by her family and then boyfriend, eunji accepted the offer and got her own flowershop at age twenty. she renovated it and added her own personal touch, making it a more modernized version of the one in her dear memories. from then on, eunji has been very busy running it, leaving little time for other activities. and clinging onto one happiness, she did lose an other. so, love catcher is the opportunity to chase that kind of happiness again, or so her family and friends keep telling her.

Meet Baek Mindeulle, the elder of the two children in her family, though you'd never know it. Born in the Canary Islands, she moved around constantly due to her mother’s work as a diplomat, having lived in Spain, Canada, Tunisia, Uruguay, the UAE -- and of course, the motherland, South Korea. She and her sister were thick as theives in their youth, despite being complete opposites; however, their bond would begin to weaken when Jindallae returned to Korea with their father after their parents’ divorce, leaving the family split across oceans for a decade or so. Mindeulle went to the University of Victoria, before transferring to Sungkyunkwan University and graduating with a degree in landscape architecture and a minor in English language and literature.

Right now, she works as a landscape architect in a fairly respectable company, and though she is complimented for her vision and innovation, her relationship with her boss is strained due to creative disagreements, amongst other issues. Mindeulle is passionate about her career, but after a few years of spending most of her days sitting in a cubicle, she has gotten bored and longs for the spontaneous days of her youth. And besides, as her mother tells her, she's nearing her thirties and isn't even close to getting married -- or being a "real adult." Mindeulle, as always, took her mother's words seriously yet went about it in her own way -- hence her appearance on Love Catcher, a decision she is fully satisfied with and a decision her family is absolutely chagrined by.

Yeoreum was born in Seoul as the second and youngest child of a couple that, just like their older daughter, she would be named after the season she was born. Since Yeoreum was a child, she and her older sister were put into acting classes at the whim of her father, that was a commercial director. Both started as childhood actresses. It wouldn’t take long until her older sister started being cast as the younger version of many famous actresses; making her stand out and put her name on the map while Yeoreum was still getting minor roles.

As time passed and Gaeul became a recognized actress landing a leading role after leading role, Yeoreum was still stuck on secondary roles. That was until she could get her first leading role in an adaptation of a famous romance Webtoon. Everyone had high hopes for it and the tv station promoted it expecting it would be a hit. Long story short, the ratings were disastrous and everyone received harsh critiques. Especially the leading couple for her lack of chemistry and not believable acting. Gwan Ki-Bum has always been severely unlucky in love. Growing up, he felt like people adored his twin brother more than him because of his illness. No matter how much he clowned around and tried to get their attention, it would always land on sung-ho. For that very reason, he had so much built-up anger and resentment towards his brother. It wasn’t until he was a bit older, when he started to attend sign language classes with his mother and brother, that he began to understand sung-ho and how he didn’t want all this attention gathered upon him. It was that crystalizing moment, where he had a full conversation with his twin brother using sign language, that he knew that he wanted to feel like this for the rest of his life. There was his energy building up inside that bloomed into a flowering garden the moment his hands moved, and he finally connected with his brother.

Throughout his high school and military years, he strived to continue using and educating others on sign language. Once he reached university, he enrolled in Korean Sign Language classes alongside working on his master’s degree in communication. Shortly after graduating, he landed himself a position within the korean government as a KSL interpreter for board meetings and news broadcasting.

Despite all his success, he found himself in this terrible ongoing pattern. He would meet someone new, he would befriend them, spend all their time together, he would fall in love, and they would come out and confess that they were in love with his other friend or study partner. Or worse; they would tell him that he was like a brother to them.
