Luke knew this was going to be so hard. He didn’t think about how hard it would be on Ravi. He just knew that his family deserved peace and his cousins deserved love. If that was with Seraphites and somewhere away from Seattle, then he was happy for them. “Maybe. But Isaac hates the Seraphites, would he really let Hayden leave with them and the rest of his best men?” Luke asked, shrugging his shoulders. “But let me talk to Isaac. You just keep doing what you do. Although tonight, I was wondering if you would want to join me tonight? I don’t know if I can be alone tonight.” Luke asked softly. His roommate had moved out and Luke never did have get a new one. They hadn’t gotten new recruits into the WLF in two years.

Ravi knew that this made sense. Isaac hated the Seraphites more than anyone else. “What if he doesn’t know? What if he just thinks they left not why. Not that it’s with the enemy?” He was spitballing, because that was all that he could do. There was literally nothing else that he could see for him to be able to do in this situation. Luke would be so much better at dealing with Isaac anyway. He looked down, unsure what it was that he did for him to keeping doing. He looked up suddenly at the question. Oh. Of course Luke didn’t want to be alone. He was going to be all alone. “Um. Yeah. Okay. Of course. I don’t want…” He paused as he tried to find the words. “I want to help you.”

Luke hadn’t thought of that. He didn’t know if Hayden would’ve said why he was leaving. Maybe just being tired of this war and wanting some peace with his family was what he said. He’d know soon enough when Isaac called on him. He looked at Ravi, smiling softly. “Thank you. You know, that room is big enough for two. Maybe.. would you.. want to move in?” He asked softly. He wasn’t sure he wanted to be alone again, ever. Ravi, his mom and Theo’s mom was all he had left. And that was enough. It had to be. For now. They were drawing closer to the gate again. Closer to having to deal with the questions.

Whatever Luke wanted, Ravi would try to do for him. He would be there for him. He was not sure if he could field the questions without planting even more seeds of doubt, but he thought that he could do something. He was awkward anyway, so if he was awkward with people, would that be so bad? So, of course, he would stay with Luke tonight. He would be with him for- For more than the night? Move in? This was something he did think about sometimes. They had been together a while, and that was what people did, right? Moved in together? No more lots of roommates. Just Luke. “Really? You… you want to do that? With me?” Even though they were together, it was still weird that a person could like him like that. Want to be with him. All the time.

Luke glanced at Ravi and nodded. “I would Sunshine. I already spend much of my time if I’m not patrolling with you. And I uh, I’d like for you to move in.” He said softly. He knew they’d been together for a while and this made sense to Luke. He wanted this as long as Ravi did. “I love you Ravi and I want to spend each night with you. Sleep in on our days off together.” He said softly. That was one thing he’d talked to Hayden about, trying to make it so their days off aligned together. And perhaps it was magic or it was the pull of his family, but it had worked. “As long as that is what you want of course.” He added, glancing at Ravi with a soft gaze before turning his attention back to the road.

He didn’t know what to say, because it didn’t make a lot of sense in his mind. Luke wanting to be with him all the time was weird enough. Wanting to be his partner was weirder still. Loving him was something that he accepted because he loved Luke so much. And now Luke wanted to be with him? Like… really all the time? Go to sleep and wake up with him. Ravi smiled as he looked down at his lap. At the stereotypically stained fingers of his free hand from when he was tinkering nervously before this. He was nodding before he could speak. “I think I would really like that.” His lips curled into a little smile that grew as he thought about this. Wow. Okay. “You and me. That’s probably better than you and me and then also Leo, Percy, and Nico.” He laughed. “A lot better.”

Luke caught the nodding and felt a big smile grow on his face. “I’m happy to hear that. Really.” He said happily, his hand squeezing the one he held gently. “Yeah. I love the guys but I kind of can’t wait for just you and I. We can move your stuff out when we get back. Maybe acting busy will keep people from asking too many questions today.” He said, as they got to the gate. He waved at James who waved back, letting them in. He didn’t want to deal with any more questions today. “How does that sound to you?” He asked a she pulled up to the parking and parked the truck, shutting the engine off.

Just the two of them. That was crazy. That was bizarre. It was also amazing and wonderful, and if Luke hadn’t been driving, he might have kissed him. Instead, he sat there on his side of the truck, his cheeks reddening from it all. Finally, as they parked, he puffed out a breath. “Moving. I can do that. That’s manual labor. Work with my hands. I can do that.” He looked over at Luke and shook his head. “Today is a lot, so I warn you now that I may die later. Maybe… maybe in a place we live together.” He closed his eyes. Crazy. “Okay. I’m getting out. Come on body, we can do this.” He slipped out of the truck.

Luke heard the puff of breath from Ravi as he parked the truck and smiled. “Yes. Alright.” He said with a chuckle before he frowned a little. He knew today had been hard, and a lot for everyone. Before Luke could do what he wanted, Ravi was slipping out. He slid out of the truck and walked around the front of it. Before he moved away, walked to the base, he wrapped his arms around Ravi. Holding him close. “I know today was a lot. And it’s not quite over yet. But you are free to die tonight in my arms. In our own room. Together.” He whispered softly, kissing Ravi softly yet deeply. Letting his actions speak more than words ever could.

He was just going to start walking. Moving himself to the next place and keep going. That was the best way to counter all negative things. He would have kept going except that he was captured in the kind of embrace that made his insides feel like mush. Oh. The warm feeling from imagining collapsing somewhere with Luke to hold him spread everyone quickly. He might have barely kept it together and not at all melted if Luke hadn’t kissed him. turns out the world wanted him to melt. He wrapped his arms around Luke’s neck to keep himself up as he kissed him back. He felt like he was better at this now. Probably. “Okay,” he whispered. “You and me. Sunshine and Rainbows.”

Luke felt the arms wrap around his neck as he felt Ravi kiss him back. This, this was perfect. Even with the bittersweet goodbye a little earlier, this was what he wanted to have. He brought a hand up the back of Ravi’s head, messing with the hair that wasn’t tied in the bun. He pulled back just enough to speak, their lips brushing against each other. “Sunshine and Rainbows. Forever.” He replied. He held that silent embrace for a few minutes before he sighed softly. “We should get moving..” He whispered, though he didn’t want to move. He was quite content where he was.

They were swinging him through the emotions today, weren’t they? He was sad earlier when they were eating with the family. He was mildly excited on everyone else’s behalf. He was so stressed. So anxious and worried. He was afraid for Luke. Now he was practically happy, and he didn’t know what to do about that. He didn’t want the world to think that his happiness was because the family left. It wasn’t. It had everything to do with Luke. Forever. Them forever. Yeah, he would be okay with that. He stayed there for another few seconds as he revved himself up to move. “Right.” He let out a deep breath then backed away. “Come on, you. We have things to move.”

Luke didn’t enjoy the emotional rollercoaster he was on today. Sad, excited, nervous, worried. So much in such a short time. He was staring at Ravi until he heard him speak. He knew they had to get going. Luke blinked as Ravi backed away and he sighed softly. “Right. Let’s get going.” He said with a smile, as he turned and led Ravi to drop the keys off. “Have a good drive?” Parker asked taking the keys from Luke. “Yeah. It was nice.” He said with a smile, glancing at Ravi like he was the world, and to Luke? He was. “Glad to hear it. You two have a good day.” Parker said as Luke nodded and waved. “Alright. To your room? So we can get you moved in?” Luke said with a big smile on his face.

Walking to turn in the keys, Ravi was reminded of how terrifying it was to be around people right now. He was certain that Parker would say something, and he did. Of course, he was saying totally normal things that would not at all insinuate that he suspected anything, and that did not matter to Ravi. He stuck close to Luke and did not look at Parker. He couldn’t. It was okay, though, because he was never good at eye contact anyway. Or talking to people. He ended up rambling and getting tongue tied. As Luke looked back at him, Ravi almost wanted to tell Parker that they were moving in together. Like that was the milestone of the drive. He didn’t. He wouldn’t even know how to do that. He nodded sort of towards Parker as they began to move away. “Yep, to the old room. Someone else can have the upper bunk with Leo. Maybe Leo can have the upper bunk.” He snorted. “He would hate that.”

Luke had noticed that Ravi had stuck close to him as he turned in the keys. He knew why he was doing that and he stayed as close as he could to him in return. He chuckled as he heard Ravi and nodded. “I can see how happy he’d be to get the top bunk. Poor guy.” Luke said with a chuckle. “Well maybe they won’t get a new roommate and he won’t have to worry about it.” Luke said, shrugging his shoulders. He walked down the hall towards Ravi’s old room. Luke had that same bounce in his step as he always did when he was excited. It was how he was and he was really excited for Ravi to move in with him.

Poor Leo had been dealing with Ravi in the upper bunk for a whole lot of years. He was good about not being too upset or bothered by Ravi’s in and out at random times. He didn’t even always wake up, though he often did, and he often threw things at his waker. This was probably good for both of them then. Would Luke be bothered by that? Because sometimes Ravi got carried away and didn’t leave what he was working on until late in the night, early morning. He would not even notice the time passing. They reached the room soon after, and as Ravi opened up the door, he curiously turned to Luke. “Do we need to do paperwork or something? Inform somebody? I’ve never done this kind of thing before.”

Luke didn’t know Ravi’s habits like Leo did, so he didn’t think much of how this would work. But he was interested in finding out. As they reached Ravi’s room, he heard the questions and thought about that for a moment. Normally he’d say no. But he also knew Hayden. He had connections. Those connections are gone now. He grew up with Isaac being there during the creation of the WLF. “I’ll inform Isaac. I’ll need to talk to him anyway I’m sure. But I don’t think we do. Theo and Kai didn’t have to do paperwork when Theo moved in with him.” Luke said, following him into the room. “Why don’t we get you packed and go from there. But we should be okay.”

Huh. Interesting. He assumed that someone needed to at least know so that everyone could be found by those that needed to find them. Maybe check on them in case they did not come out. You know, if they were sick. Or if they were missing. Right. At least he had Luke to do that for him. How did he get so lucky to have someone like that? He moved into the room and was happy to find no one else there. That meant they didn’t have to skirt around people who wanted to ask weird things like “What are you doing?” And “Where are you going?” Both of these were probably normal questions that he could not handle on a normal day. He led them to the bunk and surrounding area. “That one’s my set of drawers. We kinda have stuff all over, so I’ll start bringing it over. I.. I wish I’d thought to pull it all together.” He started moving around the room to pick up the odds and ends of his things.

Luke looked around at the empty room before he looked over at Ravi. He followed him over to the bunk and nodded. “Sounds good. And that’s okay love. This wasn’t exactly planned.” Luke said with a smile on his face as he reached for a duffle bag that seemed empty. “Is it okay to use this bag?” He asked as he looked over at Ravi who was moving around the room grabbing odds and ends. “Or is there something else that we can use?” He asked with a curious gaze over to him. He didn’t want to use a bag if it was one of the other men’s.

Ravi was grabbing things that he threw around his neck of over his shoulder, shoving into pockets, and tossing back towards Luke. “Huh?” He glanced at the bag and then shrugged. “I don’t know if it’s mine or Leo’s. He won’t mind. We kind of share a lot of things anyway. Under the bed are a bunch of totes and bags that we have accumulated. I can bring them back when we’re done.” He would only take the things that were definitely his. Or were things he used the most. Eh, Leo wasn’t going to disappear forever. They could have shared custody of some things.

Luke nodded as he turned back to the drawer and started emptying it out. “Got it. Sounds good.” He said with a smile. He filled that bag up and bent down to grab another one out from under the bed. Luke started filling it with the rest of the drawer and then started filling it with the stuff that was thrown back to him. “So are you excited for it to be just us and our stuff in a room a little bigger than this?” Luke asked curiously. He could only hope that Ravi was just as excited as Luke was for this. And a little bit of good happened after such a hard day.

After moving through the entire room twice, Ravi moved to the closet, which was a room converted into a closet that had four hanging shelves with shelving underneath. He grabbed one of the bags from in there, he had no idea whose it was, and bagged up the clothes. Well, as much as he could put it in. Thankfully, he didn’t have a lot of stuff. No reason to get new clothes when he was going to mess it all up anyway. Sometimes the four of them shared, so that would be a little different. He moved back over to Luke as he finished. “I don’t know how to live somewhere that big,” he answered honestly. “I’ve always lived with a lot of people, you know? I mean, since I lost my mom. And we were in this little place also with other people when we were here.” He paused and smiled softly as he looked at his feet. “But yeah, I… I want to just share with you.”

Luke heard that answer and nodded. It had taken him a while to get used to just him in his room, but he also had one of the large ones on the second floor. The ones with their own bathrooms. The ones that the higher up patrolmen got. He nodded, listening to him with a small smile on his face. “I know what it was like to live in a place with a lot of people. Before we took over the stadium, we had two large houses that was where we lived. We all shared a room together. It was what pushed us to do go after the stadium.” Luke said he was only 8 when his parents went with his uncles to help with the creation of the WLF. They needed places that were abandoned by FEDRA. And they found homes on the edge of the zone, away from the patrol routes to start growing the WLF. “I’m happy to hear that though. So. Ready to see your new home?” He asked, hauling the bags onto his shoulders. A big smile on his face as he looked at Ravi.

It was nice to know that he was not alone in that. It was always so hard to relate to people who did not know his past or his circumstances. He was not exactly shy when it came to talking about his past. He didn’t mind sharing. It was weird to talk about himself with most people. Not Luke, though. He told Luke all sorts of things. He hefted the last of the bags onto his arms and nodded. “I’m glad your family did this. And Isaac and everyone else who worked to build this life.” He almost blushed again. No, he definitely did. “I’m glad that we got to meet this way.” He smiled and walked to the door and pushed it open. He was also glad that they were alone and did not have to have this conversation in front of anyone else. Leo already hassled him enough about Luke.

Luke looked at Ravi and smiled softly, he was happy to be someone that his partner could talk to. "I'm glad that they did too. I was too small to remember how FEDRA really was, but I'm glad they worked with Isaac and the others to build this." He agreed as he saw that blush on Ravi's face which made him smile happily. "I'm glad we met this way too." Luke added as he followed him to the door and stepped outside into the hall. He took the lead to head for the nearest stairwell to the second floor.
