Howdy,
I’m Rogue (they / them): your friendly neighborhood chaos goblin. I’m looking for a few writing partners who want to create some wonderful stories together, and if you’re looking at this thread, I imagine you are too. Browse the wares, mind the miniature bear, and hit me up through PM if you see something of interest.

ORIGINALS
- Devil, Devil | Vampires
- Daku Akuma | Immortal Samurai
- Wolves At The Door | Yakuza
- The Birth of Chaos | Fantasy
- We Met In A Tavern | Fantasy
- Vague Interests & Plot Bunnies
Urban Fantasy | Vampires & Possible Other Supernaturals | Murder Mystery
Setting: A metropolis. Can be NYC, LA, Tokyo, Seoul, ect.; open to any and all. Modern day, or ‘80s / ‘90s.
It’s a dangerous, yet vital game: survival among the mortals. For the damned, staying hidden is the one and only rule enforced by the covens. The ire of the vampires’ ruling force is drawn when their prey starts to pay attention to a series of brutal murders that stand out underneath the bright, fast lights of the city. One of their own — or perhaps another supernatural creature — is drawing unwanted attention, leaving behind bodies in a deliberate attempt to make a statement.
My character is a vampire, and though not very well liked by the rest of his kind, is respected through fear. He is the executioner: the one who hunts down those who break the one rule, and makes sure they never rise again. With these recent homicides spreading to be nationwide news, he’s tasked with finding the ones responsible.
Your character:
- A human detective also looking into the murders, who is about to stumble into the unnatural, dark world underneath their own, and be confronted by a lot more than they bargained for.
- A freshly turned vampire, abandoned by their sire — a sire who also happens to behind /involved in the murders. As the most promising lead, they’re taken under my character’s wing.
- Either another vampire from a different / rival coven, or another supernatural creature, who is sent to work with my character to find the murderer. Trust is in short supply, and rivalries flair.
- Any other ideas you might have!
Japan | Sengoku to Edo Period or ‘80s to Modern Times | Immortal, Jaded Samurai
This wasn’t how he imagined his life to end — well, un-end. He was Kagekaze no Ryuuko: infamous and bloodthirsty samurai unmatched on the battlefield, a renowned general known for his unique tactics and unyielding spirit. He was destined to become the first Shogun and establish domination over the entire land. And then his own jealous brother murdered him. He never even had the chance to draw his blade: quite the unseemly death for one of such skill and renown, his hard-built legacy cut down in a matter of moments.
But he didn’t exactly die.
Underneath the full moon, as his palace burned around him, and his loyal retainers were slaughtered by the ambush, a yokai appeared before him, embedding within him some of its power. Shadow melded within his blood, and shifted to stitch his form back together. From the ashes he rose, though he had lost everything. Even the ability to die.
This is a basic premise of a character I want to play, and below I’ll list some plot ideas I have for him. As always, I’m open to ideas you might have as well!
- Disgrace: (Sengoku Jidai). A few hundred years have passed since his un-death, and now another power struggle is shaking the country, with new players. Your Character is someone who has pissed off one of these daimyos vying to be Shogun, and stumbles upon Ryuuko, who ends up helping by taking on your characters’ pursuers. Now he’s also on the shit-list. Looks like they’re stuck in this mess together.
- End: (Any Time Period). Centuries of research, and Ryuuko finally found a way to become mortal: he must kill the yokai who created him. Your character is that yokai, who has disguised themselves as a normal human, and is trying to start a new life among them.
- Bound: (‘80s or Modern Japan). Ryuuko, somehow, made another supernatural being incredibly angry, and ended up bound within his own sword, locked away for time unending. Your character, in the modern time, somehow stumbles upon so said katana, unleashing Ryuuko from his prison. The catch? Since your character wields the blade, he’s also bound to them, until they decide to release him.
Loosely Inspired by Takeshi Miike’s First Love | Modern Japan | Yakuza | Criminal Underground
It starts with one night. One shipment. One gunfight. And a few bodies.
One of the most powerful syndicates in Japan is receiving a large supply of black market goods. Your character is the child of the syndicate’s leader, and intends to steal the shipment; wanting to escape from underneath their father’s thumb, with the money they gain from offloading the cargo, they’ll be set for life.
My character happens to be a member of a rival yakuza organization. Having fallen out of favor with his boss, he seeks to redeem himself by stealing this shipment from their biggest competitors.
Things don’t go as planned as our characters’ paths cross, and what they’re after is taken by a third, unknown player. Hunted by all sides, they’re forced to work together to track down the goods.
Of course, chaos ensues.
Note: My character will be yakuza, but the syndicate your character is tied to doesn’t have to be; whatever you want to play is fine by me!
High Fantasy | Roguish Chaos | Political Intrigue | City-Based Crawl
The Viscount of the city of Raetshe — known as the City of Wolves for its prominent thieves guilds, rampant cutthroats, and visiting pirates — is on his deathbed, but has yet to name his heir. His youngest son, Varren Fyre, has come home with his new order, The Knights of the Last Dawn, who believe in the destruction of magic and all those who practice it, or are touched by it, to stake his claim on his father’s title. His ascension to the throne would be marked by bloodshed, his rule iron-fisted and suffocating to those that live within the cities’ walls.
My character is the current leader of the Syndicate of Crows: the most prominent thieves guild in Raetshe, that runs the criminal underbelly of the city. Having lost his mentor to the Knights, and being a werewolf himself, he’s not too keen on letting them consolidate anymore power. When another Fyre comes to him with an offer — help steal the crown from the Viscount’s Palace for them, to help sway the House of Nobles to vote them in as the next heir — he’s all too happy to accept. Your character — perhaps another member of the Syndicate, or perhaps someone who is taking the job for their own reasons — ends up teaming up with my character.
Only things don’t go as planned, when an assassin shows up during the heist. Oh, and Raetshe is about to become a battleground for a thousand-year-old feud between the Deity of Chaos, Abbadon, and the Deity of Order, Audium.
The fate of the city rests in their hands; who will they place in power, or will they steal that power for themselves?
High Fantasy | DnD-Esque Shenanigans | Adventuring Party
Rhyse, The City of Wonders, where little known adventurers travel to get their start; with plenty of nobles looking to get an upper hand against the others, a half-a-dozen orders of valiant knights and drunken brawlers, a vibrant criminal underground, and The College of Wonders, the seat of magical learning, someone from any walk of life always has a job — for anyone with guts and the ability to complete it without dying.
Our characters came to this city to seek fortune, glory, or both — for whatever their reasons. They end up meeting in a tavern, taking a job, starting their own party, and setting off to see what the horizon has in store. The question is: will they survive long enough to forge a lasting legacy, or end up as another group of nameless mercenaries who failed to make it?
I want a partner to write a DnD-esque adventuring group, who start as nobodies but build themselves up as legendary figures; Preferably both of us would write at least two characters, and I’m very interested in having a healthy polycule relationship dynamic, though it’s not required.
YakuzaEither exploring a relationship between an oyabun’s child and their bodyguard, or;
The child of an overseas organized crime family is sent to Japan, under the protection of a yakuza family they do business with, to protect them during a local gang war, only that war follows them across the ocean.
I’d play the yakuza bodyguard for both.
VikingsThe ousted child of a lord of England teams up with an ambitious Viking raider, maybe through arranged marriage, to help take back their parents’ castle, which was stolen by a power-hungry rival.
A modern time-traveler accidentally winds up in Denmark during the Viking Age, and earns the curiosity of a prominent Jarl.
I’d play the Viking in both cases.
Space Pirates A crew of outlaws sailing the dark expanse end up taking a job they’re not prepared for; what will they do when the fate of the galaxy now rest in their hands?
Zombie ApocalypseThey hate each other, and on this particular day, they’re stuck in the same room together. Outside, the infected are running rampant and the world is ending.

The Premise: I have two character ideas, who are brothers, that I want the chance to write and develop further. They’re sort of OC stand-ins for The Warden and Hawke, but don’t have to be; more on that later. I’m looking for someone willing to double (or more!), and interested in writing an expansive story set in the universe. I’m fine with strictly sticking to OCs (and I consider the player characters to be OCs), or including canons, either as a backdrop or romantic interests. After introducing my boys, I’ll explain what I had in mind with more detail.
The Characters:For centuries, the noble Reyne family has ruled over the arling of Stonehall. Named for its position in the Frostback Mountains, the castle is a guardian along Ferelden’s border with Orlais, and the Reynes have stood as watchers upon its walls for all of its lifespan.
Rhinehart Reyne, called Rhine by his family and friends, is the only legitimate child of Gideon and Cara Reyne: the current rulers of Stonehall. As heir to his father’s titles and lands, Rhine has spent his life honing his skills with a blade and studying strategies to prepare himself to take over the castle, neglecting the formalities of court nobles closer to Denerim tend to focus upon. A bit brash and uncouth, yet intelligent and open to innovation, with an unyielding spirit and unbreakable will that some would out right call damning stubbornness, Rhine is a local hero to some — a figure of respect and honor — and a far-reach barbarian better left as fodder at the border to others.
Ronan Reyne is Gideon’s bastard; his mother was a Dalish healer who, according to stories, saved Gideon’s life after a skirmish with mercenaries, and after her supposed death, Gideon took in their young half-elf child. Being another woman’s spawn, the lady of the castle ignored him on the best of days, and his father was too busy with his heir to give him much mind, which left Ronan with plenty of time to be a mischievous troublemaker. Rhine, his elder, often joined him in his adventures; the two were close, until blood would separate them.
Ronan was eleven when his magic manifested in a blaze of fire during a fight with another noble brat. Happy to have him hauled off halfway across the kingdom, Cara was quick to summon the Templars to escort him to the Tower. For years, Rhine still kept in contact through letters, but Ronan was bitter and continued his rebellious shenanigans into his teenage and adult years, including several attempts at escaping. His wish for freedom would come with the Blight.
The Reynes, being adamant supporters of the crown, and with Rhine having departed with a Grey Warden to join their ranks at Ostagar, opposed Loghain and his attempted coup. Their vocal descent led to assassins being hired to take them out, and some even went after the bastard in the Tower. Using the confusion, Ronan left his prison under the assumption of his death and traveled north.
Rhine, a vigilant Grey Warden, would serve to help end the Blight in Ferelden, and then go on to lend his hand in rebuilding the order in his homeland. Ronan would flee to Kirkwall, become a mercenary apostate, and end up entwined in the politics of the city; after the start of the mage rebellion, he would flee to roam the seas as a pirate, and occasionally lend support to his magic-inclined kindred.
The Ideas:First, I am open to any ideas you may have that involve the two rapscallions above! I want the opportunity to play them. But here are some ideas to get us started:
Rhine and Ronan can be party members of your Warden and your Hawke, respectively. Rhine would have underwent The Joining with Your Warden and survived. Ronan could have helped your Hawke gain entrance into Kirkwall, and worked alongside them for their first year, during which they became companions. Either Rhine and Ronan can be the romantic interests of your characters, or we can both write other canon interests for each other.
In the case of canon romantic interests:
I’d be looking for Morrigan for Rhine, and Isabela for Ronan. For your end, I’m comfortable and confident in playing any of the lovely companions.
Another idea would be to write what we imagine Dragon Age 4 to be like. You’d call the “player character”, while Rhine and Ronan show up as party members. Maybe we could even get a bit of a love triangle going?
Premise: Corpo x Nomad
I prefer to play the Corpo, but can be convinced otherwise.
My character is a bodyguard for the heir of a mega-corporation; scooped off the streets at an young age, he was trained and conditioned to be deadly and effective. He serves as both sword and shield to his employer — silencing those who oppose them, and willing to take a bullet in their stead.
Your character is a nomad. Whatever their past, they now ride with a clan, and have found both family and freedom on the outskirts. They trust in their kin, willing to take a bullet for anyone in their circle, not out of obligation, but because of camaraderie.
Our characters meet under ill omens. A convoy carrying the corporation’s heir is attacked and brought down, and the nomads investigate, thinking it’s civilians and not corpos. A fire-fight ensues with an unknown outfit, and our characters end up making it out alive together — but the heir is killed.
Turns out someone set the whole thing up, and is throwing the blame onto the nomads. With Your Character wanting to protect their clan, and mine wanting revenge, they’re forced to team-up to find those responsible. Naturally, they don’t get along, but perhaps they can find common ground?
The WitcherA Witcher and a Sorceress meet in a castle, take a job from the local lord having to deal with a magical monster, and can’t stand each other. By the end, their fates end up intertwined as the monster’s way of revenge. Now they keep on ruining into each other.
I’d want to write the Witcher.
SkyrimHonestly? Just let me play a suave Nord thief, who’s part of the Thieves Guild / A Nightingale.
