Fantasy Life on the Sea

1684339118614.jpeg
Joe climbs up the crow’s nest and looks out at the sea. He looks up at their flag flapping in the wind then looks back at the sea. Joe leans against the mast of the nest. He day dreams about what he’d do with the money. Joe eventually slouches down and rests.

A month later

As the Night Star approached the island Ravin noticed a few abandon ships near the island and some that crashed on the shoreline. Something was wrong he just couldn't place it. As the island approached closer Ravin saw that there were large rocks scattered across the island.

Joe looks through the storage, there was little food left. Only 2-3 days worth. “Captain! Are we close to the island?” Joe yells locking the storage. Joe starts to walk up to the deck.

"Yes." Ravin said to his first mate. "Maybe twenty minutes."

As they reached the shore line Ravin exited the ship and noticed what appeared to be a sign in the distance. Ravin couldn't make it out. "Alright everyone off." He said. "Be careful something isn't right here." He said as he took a step onto the sand.

They should be approaching soon, to the island. He stared out onto the island, trying to see if there was anything there. There was a sign on the sand, and Dolen squinted at the sign to see if he can read it. He can't, either because the words are too hard to read, or because the sign is too far away.

Dolen dropped lightly to the sand, feeling it with his feet to make sure there is no danger. He heeded Ravin's warning.

Joe drops down from the ship onto the sand. Joe looks around the shores and in the distance. “Should split up into small groups to search or stay together?” Joe rested his hands into his pockets.

Ravin thinks about it unaware how the sands seem to move. "Alright me Dolen, Ken, and I will go that way." I say pointing to the rocks path.

"Joe, Edorile, Neco, and Klang will head straight." I point to the sand area where a sign was in the distance.

"We'll meet up near that formation." I point to a singular hill that looked like it reached to the heavens.

Joe looks down the sandy path. “Understood. Seeya later.” Joe waves back as he walks down the path. he leads the way and makes sure to keep the others close behind himself. Joe keeps his wits about his surroundings and makes sure that he keeps a keen eye on the girls to keep them safe. Klang is strong enough to keep himself protected, so Joe doesn’t choose to check on him too much, but still takes a few glances at him just in case.

Dolen moved to go to the new group. Sometimes, splitting up was dumb. Other times, it was needed. Today, it was both. Dolen did note the meeting place. He hoped that they would meet up soon enough.

Dolen went back to the ship, and got water, just in case. He still hurried, though. The sand was safe.

She followed the group. The landscape was not extraordinary so far. Maybe the reason something felt so off was that it all seemed too peaceful and quiet. The two groups gradually drifted away from each other. It was difficult to assess how long they would be separated for, so Eodriel hoped that it wouldn't be long enough for them to get lost in the wilderness. Trusting her own gut feeling and keeping in mind Ravin's warning, she stayed alert, listening out for any suspicious sounds that might indicate any kind of danger.

Patrick crawled out of his hiding place. Hopefully he could get a bigger share of food while the ship was deserted. The young Necromancer thought about straight up stealing the ship. However he wasn't sure if he could summon enough undead to form a skeleton crew. "Skeleton crew." He grinned at his own joke. But in all seriousness he didn't know the first thing about sailing, otherwise he'd take the opportunity to steal the ship. Instead he'd settle for food.

he found little food as he couldn't cook. making do with what he had. Exploring the ship, he found the cannon. childish intrigue over took him as he fired the cannon once, twice, three times.

Ravin ducks as he hears three shots fired. "What in the underworld was that." He said as he looked towards the night star and saw smoke coming from it. He let out a curse and started for the ship only to see Klang headed that way.

"Come on let's get a move on." He said to Dolen and Ken.
.....

The sand continued to move like the waves before one of the said waves moves slowly towards Joe.
.....

Klang grumbled wondering what skulan was messing with the ship. He pulled out his axe and jumped onto the ship. He stalked towards the cannon as the rune on his bicep turns red.

Joe looks back to where the sound of loud cannon fire, it was the ship. Joe watches as Klang goes towards the ship then he turns back towards the path. “Let’s keep going, the others can handle it.” Joe continues to walk down the path they originally did, not noticing the wave in the sand.

Patrick stood there on the deck as some of the crew returned. The young boy froze when he saw the big axe weilding guy. In hindsight, he should have expected this.

Out of the sand a small creature with red like scales and razor teeth and claws jumped out towards Joe.

Klang got on board and saw the boy scared. He growled before calming himself putting his axe away. "Boy this isn't your ship." He said taking a step forward. "The Cap will know how to deal with you." He said as memories of another scared boy flooded his mind.

Patrick gulped, backing away as he took a fighting pose. "I won't go down without a fight." He said, summoning three corpses from his magic bag. He then resurrected them.

Joe pushes the girls away once the small creature surfaces, preferring their safety over his. After that, Joe will try to grab the creature by the neck, if he succeeds he’ll immediately punch its face.

It fell back stunned by the blow before it jumped back into the sand. Other sand waves came towards them. The second one moved towards Joe's legs as the other one moved towards the girls.

Klang growled before taking his axe and cutting one of them in half before bashing another Skeleton head into the side of the ship breaking it. "Stop boy. Don't want hurt you."

Patrick had his skeletons stand down, the shattered one pulled itself together. He started healing the one Klang cleaved in half. "My name's Patrick, I'm a necromancer. " he said.

Joe slams his foot down into the sand wave, making a small crater in the ground. Joe then yells out towards the girls, “Watch out!”

Hearing the cannon's sound, Eodriel presumed that it was some other ship firing at them, so needless to say, she was perplexed when she saw smoke coming from the Night Star. "I'm not an expert but I suppose that whatever the hell is going on there, Klang may not be able to handle it alone." She suggested. However, there was no time for further discussion as he had already headed towards the ship and the rest of the group had been intruded by skeletons. Eodriel wasn't a good fighter, so, realizing she didn't stand a chance against the enemy, she quickly jumped back. She drew her dagger and waited for the creature's next move. Although she was concerned about Joe, she reconed she wouldn't be of much help to him.

Elesia Flovian Western Naval Headquarters twenty miles from the Night Star.
Captain Col walked into Admiral Orientem's office. The older man had a little bit of grey on the top of his head. His nose was almost non existent broken so badly it couldn't reset. His freshly manicured nails tapped desk. Nails on hands that showed very little experience on the seas. "Captain." He said thinly veiled hostility in his voice. "Still no word on Cortez's treasure?" He asked his voice so hauty and naisally that it took Col's self control not to deck the guy.
"No sir. Warden Godfrey hasn't turned up any information." He said. "He says the island is cursed."

The Admirial scoffed. "That pirate probably already has it. And your too incompetent to find it." He said. "Just like your good for nothing farther and bastard." Hatred flared in the Admiral's eyes and were reflected in Col's "You are to take your ship and find it. If you can't engage Godfrey and send that Priest to his God. You understand Captain Rivers."

"Yes sir." He said the clear hatred he had for the admiral was present. He stopped at the door. "It's Teris Sir. You may not respect me sir but respect the name. "Your wife's name." The Admiral countered.

The sand beings continued to jump around their movements clearly shown. The things dealing with people who actually fight back move away and hide preparing for when they'll strike next. The three of them could see a sign stating to stay out of the sand

Klang saw the fear on the boy and dropped his axe "Klang." He said smiling as he looked at the boy. "Why you on the ship?"

Dolen's eyes widen slightly as he hears the noise. He's with Ravin and he asks whether or not they should go back to the ship, or meet up.

Joe watches the waves move away. He sighs once he saw the sign. Joe walks to girls. “Are you two alright?” Joe asks, concerned.
