Yatara's Ikran / Banshee

Personal Story:

Yatara is a Na'vi who loves the forest and her world as a whole. She devotes her time to studying the animals and traveling wherever she can, dotting upon her Ikran, their flying steeds. Yatara will follow Woodsprites (atokirina), and interprets the way of Ewya, reading and studying the land and their Ancestors. She is the Patriarch of her Clan, the Mountain Forest Clan, nomads who travel and gather, never settling long in one place. They are great hunters and gatherers, following the ways of the animals and the Woodsprites they come across. During their travels, they meet and befriend many Na'vi of other clans.

---

It was like any other day upon their moon. The Sun rose on the horizon, their moon helping to sustain the gas giant upon which it floated with. A powerful long bow was strung over her body. A bow and a blade. Pandora was a beautiful world, and Yatara, a young Na'vi female, would do whatever she had to to protect it from destruction. The Na'vi female was the Patriarch of her Mountain Forest Clan, which were labeled as nomads that traveled around upon their moon. Meeting many different clans and Na'vi along the way.

Though the general jungle and forest was hot and humid, the Na'vi were adapted to such a climate, calling the place their home world. Yatara devoted her life to studying their world upon which they lived. Following after the Woodsprites she came across, learning the ways of Ewya, their deity. Living on Pandora was never easy, but it was indeed home for Yatara and the Na'vi people and their creatures. The Na'vi people worshiped Ewya, their provider, their deity. They could pray to Ewya through certain fern trees that they connected their queues (tswin/kuru).

Yatara's clan were excellent hunters and gatherers. They never stayed in one place for very long, following the winds and the ways of their home, wherever Ewya guided them.

Currently, Yatara stood upon a high cliff, Ikran flying all around her and her clan. Slowly, Yatara took in a long deep breath of their home air, wind strong up high in these mountains. It was the ideal home for the Mountain Banshees. The Mountain Banshee was the most common of the Ikran. Though there were smaller cousins that resided in the Forest. Aptly called Forest Banshees. So far it seemed Na'vi people could only bond with the Mountain Banshees with their Queues.

Carefully, Yatara was leading her small clan of Na'vi people down the Mountain with their own Banshees they had tamed when they came of age. A test every Na'vi person had to pass. Making the call, Yatara smiled as her own Ikran swooped to her, greeting her with a roar.

"Hello Ukan." She greeted, placing her hand upon its face between its golden eyes, which looked deeply into her. "Today, we travel." She told her Ikran, quickly and easily mounting her steed, the others of her clan following her lead. Their flying steeds quickly snapping into the air and flying down the mountain towards the jungle floor. If there was one thing Yatara enjoyed most in life, it was flying with her Ikran, Ukan.

Name: Peytme
Race: Na'vi
Gender: Male
Height: 7'
Skin:
Blue
Eyes: Yellow-Gold
Hair: Dark Brownish-Black

Personality: A quiet and thoughtful person, Peytme does what he can to better the clan. Whether that is hunting or weaving textiles. Enjoys repetitive tasks and loves learning new information.

Peytme smiled, seeing the leader's Ikran land on the cliff before her. He avoided the Irkran's eyes, something that was saved for only the Ikrans rider. He knew it was time to leave, the clan always seeming to come back to the mountains in time for the apprentices to find their ikran before riding off again. It was always a thrill to come back, to watch the young Na'vi you had trained finally reach that point in life. But it was time again, time to find their new home for the time being. Never being in place for very long made it hard to settle down, but it was the will of Ewya and Peytme couldn't be happier to follow it. He and the other clan members climbed onto their ikran, ready to follow their leader in a familiar dive. Peytme gave a cry, Salu, his ikran echoing it in kind. The bond echoed the excitement between the two beings, the feeling of wind rushing over them.

The change in temperature took the chill of the mountain air off of his skin, blowing his hair over his shoulders. He smiled softly at the warm air, following along with the clan. It was a rush to be flying with everyone, knowing that each one would care for the other. They were a family, they were a people.

He moved forward in the flock, keeping his eyes out as they flew, knowing they weren't the only ones in the sky, or the biggest. It was unlikely they would get attacked as they were in a group, but it was good to be cautious anyway.

Flying was a great joy of a Na'vi's life. Bonding with an Ikran was something every Na'vi person waited eagerly for. It was a test that every Na'vi had to pass, though not all of them did. They only had one chance in life to bond. It wasn't the easiest as a traveling clan. But it was the way of Ewya. As far as Yatara was aware, they were one of the few that didn't settle down in one place for very long. Despite that fact, Ewya never lead them astray. Yatara was very good at interpreting the way of Ewya.

It was rare for a group of Na'vi people to get attacked by other flying creatures, but it did happen. Na'vi people were very aware of their surroundings, as they had to be. Their group was small, but it was indeed a family clan, that occasionally allowed others to join if they needed help or had nowhere else to go. Yatara was a very good rider upon Ukan, her Ikran, or Banshee, as the Na'vi called their flying steeds.

Yatara wasn't a strict leader, as she believed leading life to the fullest. Being free as possible while still living as a Na'vi. She loved being able to travel and see their world whenever she pleased. But mostly, it was following the Woodsprites. Seeds of the Sacred Tree. Whenever Yatara was following the Atokirina.

Finally, they reached the forest floor, the cries of various creatures of the forest surrounding them. A stream of water bubbling next to where they had landed. They would scout for food and make camp until it was time to head back to the mountains for others who reach the age of selecting their own Ikran and becoming Hunters. As easily as breathing, Yatara hopped down from her Ikran, petting it before it flew off to roost nearby with the other tamed Ikrans.

Peytme landed next to his clan members, looking around at the area they had landed. It was a nice clearing on the forest floor, near some flowing water which was always a plus. He gave his Ikran a parting pat on the side of his neck before letting him take off. He moved with his clan to start preparations. It was a well-practiced routine, everyone has their own job and everything gets done quickly.

Peytme's job was to get the different areas cleared, such as the sleeping or eating areas. It was important to keep areas sectioned out so they were easy to set up and tear down. Given that they were nomads they carried some things around. But most things they could just find wherever they went. Things such as lumber or stones they could find. But stuff such as textiles or food they carried with them.

Peytme carried some lumber over to what would be the eating area. It helped to clear their area and also provide fuel for the fire. They didn't often have them, only for cooking the food they would later cure for their travels. The clan always worked together with nature to make sure they never caused damage. They hunted only what they needed and never made any undue damage to the land.

The clan was one with nature, living in it and with it. Peytme let out a breath, looking around as he saw the clan build the camp up around him. He moved over, helping set up the sleeping area, knowing that with all the textiles it called for a little more work.

Whenever Yatara was off, she left Peytme in charge. He had a good head on his shoulders and made sure things got done for whatever their small group needed for their stay. They made small huts, easy to take down whener it would be time for their next move.

It wasn't easy, being a nomadic clan. But Yatari's people were free to come and go as they pleased. On occasion, they would loose a clan member to another clan they met. Sometimes, they would gain someone new.

Yatari would often go out and search for food or follow the Woodsprites she came across. After all, she worshiped Eywa, the Na'vi's deity and provider. The female Na'vi approached Peytme.

"Have you everything in order?" She wondered, flicking her tail absently as she looked around the clearing.
