Multiple Settings Liberty or Death (Alternative History Interest Check)

Sure. But take into account that they would likely return to their unit to refit and reorg for the next operations. That's just me speaking from a realistic military procedure. You don't see pilots wandering with an infantry squad for an entire war simply because they were downed the first time on sortie.
You're right. Maybe just good old fashion volunteer would be better, if military adviser couldn't be a thing

The idea will heavily involve close knit interactions and developments. Now as for your questions Jackson for simplicity sake we can say the Germany still introduces the Kar98k but an alternative weapon instead of an replacement to the Gewher98. Now as for the Panzar III since this is taking place in America that type won’t be used for the time being. Given the points you made that Germany won’t be restricted in arms in this timeline we can say the type of tank in introduced in 1937 instead of 1939 but not in full production yet. In terms of the M 38 it can be renamed MP-35 or MP-36.

Regarding your character if you’re fine with it, may I suggest make her or him an intelligence operative for the German Empire who happens to have qualified as a pilot. That way your character can have be part of the ground stuff for the most part and hopefully do some things in the air later. How does that sound? But if you prefer the old fashion volunteer is that more than fine as well.

Would it make sense if the German military officially volunteer to assist the second american civil war in this timeline akin to the condor legion or would it have to be more covert?

Well the story is going to commence shortly before the second civil war begins. I don’t see large units of foreign volunteers coming in just yet. Although foreigner volunteers/observers or covert operatives can be there individually.

Alright I have made a character, see if we can get this guy to fight in California somehow

1602454708561.jpg
Name: Karl-Heinz Dietrich Ernst Freiherr von Behrendt
Nickname(optional): Karl / Hanz
Gender: Male
Ethnicity/Citizenship: Citizen of the Imperial Germany
Age: 22
Height: 5'11
Date of Birth/Location: 28th March, 1915, Berlin
Profession: Kaiserliche Armee (specialised in armoured reconnaissance as shown by his golden yellow "waffenfarbe")
Rank: Oberleutant
Hometown: Buchholz, Province of Saxony, Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire

History: The Behrendt is a noble family originally from Thuringia with an unbroken family line since 1621, with the name of Behrendt baronated by Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I in 1699 for their service in the Great Turkish War when their ancestor Franz Behrendt (1672-1734) served under the command of Prince Eugene of Savoy. Despite their noble status, the Behrendt had lived a simple life in the suburban area, before the Great War that changes everything.

Karl was born in Berlin but raised in Buchholz, a small village in Thüringen near Nordhausen. The broad, dense forest of the Thüringen area earned it the nickname "the green heart of Germany" (das grüne Herz Deutschlands). As a child, Karl felt very much at home in the rural and forest, and he learned how to ride horses and hunt for food, through helping his father in providing for their family, he became accustomed to the hard work and dedication. This made Karl very comfortable in the hunt.

Karl's father, Ernst von Behrendt, had answered the fatherland's call when the Great War broke out, first as an infantryman in the 8th Infantry Regiment of the Saxony 24th Division, where he participated in chasing the Allied to their Great Retreat which culminated in the First Battle of the Marne, and then in the Race to the Sea. First as an infantryman, then as a Gefreiter (lance corporal), after his first wound and recovery, he decided to enlist as an officer aspirant (Fahnenjunker), and he was promoted to Leutnant as a pilot – first in an Fokker M.7 unarmed recon two seater, before he got to fly an Albatros D.III fighter in Jagdstaffel 1, under the command of Red Baron before command taken by Hermann Göring following the death of the flying legend. Old Ernst shot down 4 enemy aircrafts, but before he could secure his 5th kill that would qualify him as an Ace, he was wounded by his would-be victory, which put him out of fighting – by the time he recovered, the war was over.

As a young man, Karl was aspired to become a hero just like his father once was, he was a passionate reader of adventure novels, and an advocate for the Wandervogel movement in Germany. He enlisted in the Imperial German Army when he was 17, but he was only accepted after twice being rejected as unfit for military service for being underweight. After he passed through the Kriegsschule during officer training, he graduated as a Leutnant and subsequently promoted to Oberleutnant after a few years of service.

With the influx of information, the Empire believes the Second American Civil War would soon broke out, and Karl was sent to the American soil under the guise of a tourist. In a larger picture, he was part of a bigger plan from the German General Staff Abteilung III b as one of their eyes and ears over in America to observe their military in action, but personally, Karl is also eager to seize this opportunity to prove himself in combat.

Personality: His friends would describe him as a rather capricious fellow with sometimes eccentric ideas.

Very impressive Jackson123 Jackson123 . The only edit I would recommend is the Second Civil War part at the end of the bio. The conflict won’t officially start until shortly after our RP commences. You can put instead put something like that the Empire believes the war is coming soon and sends Karl there in preparation for it. He could be officially in America as a tourist(keeping his uniform and gear at the ready) or be observing the us military for the Empire but in reality he is there to fight as a volunteer when the shooting starts.

What you think Karl is your character after all?

To answer your first question I’ll likely set up a discord occ server some-point later tomorrow for faster communication unless there is serious objections to it. As for your question about Long having a cameo or not I’m willing to discuss it with you about possible ideas for that.

Very cool!

It's just a meme btw. I'm a big American Union State fan in KSR. Except for the Commonwealth of America. Those extremists have no place over the great Kingfish.

I need to get HOI4. The closest thing I have to Kaiserreich is After the End for CK2.
Its worth it. Wait for a sale though. Vanilla game itself is great, u dun need the DLCs unless u want it to complement the sale. KSR mod is definitely worth checking out. A lot of this RP's inspired lore here would make sense once you spend some hours on KSR.

I'll have to pick it up! Currently trying toget a few more CK2 DLCs.

Oh, in my current After the End campaign...I somehow went from aspiring king of North Carolina to Emperor of Holy Columbia. I'm not even sure how it happened

The server is finally ready. Please let me know if you want the link to it and I will give it in an dm to you.

Pilgrim59 Pilgrim59 , what if in this timeline Australia was a war machine of a country, and was responsible for producing large amounts of weapons during WW1. As a result they are big in the arms industry(I am only doing this so I can use an Owen Gun)
