Lianne grew up in a small inn that her parents owned. From a young age, she always wanted to sing. Her childhood dream led her to sing in the inn, entertaining the various traveling merchants. Her parents, wanting to help their daughter improve her art, hired an traveling Sound Mage to train her voice. The mage misunderstood what he was training young Lianne in, as he ended up teaching her Sound Magic. Her parents, after discovering the truth, decided to let the teachings continue, as learning Sound Magic improved Lianne's singing. However, after stopping a robber shortly after her sixteenth birthday, it was decided that Lianne needed to join a guild. The nearest guild was Mermaid's Heel, and since their guild members were in good standing with Lianne's parents, the young mage ended up joining them.
In Mermaid's Heel, Lianne improved both her magic and her singing. She normally took jobs singing for towns, on holidays, or in plays, though she was not averse to taking jobs protecting people from rampaging monsters. When she was 25, her magic was truly put to the test. A job performing for a bishop went wrong when several dark mages attempted to assassinate him. Lianne managed to hold her ground, defeating three of the five mages before losing her eye in a Bullet Magic attack. Overcoming the pain, she used a magical technique she hadn't perfected, taking out the last two dark mages. However, she was deafened by the magic, only partially regaining her hearing several weeks later. Shortly afterword, the guild decided to advance Lianne to S-Class.
Personality:
Lianne is a performer, through and through. Extroverted and a touch narcissistic, she enjoys people lavishing her with attention. Her emotions are well hidden, enabling her to smile no matter the conflict brewing inside her. She is charitable, however, and uses her fame to help others, wishing only for those she helped to spread her name. While she maintains an air of professionalism around most people, those who get to know her in the guild get to see a casual, quieter side of Lianne.

Lianne uses her magic to amplify sounds, creating powerful AOE attacks. She can also use more directed soundwaves, though they are significantly less powerful. In addition, she can essentially negate all sounds in an area (using her own spells while Mute is in effect will quickly exhaust Lianne, and they won't be as powerful; in the same vein, using Mute to shield her allies from her spells would severely limit Lianne's time in battles).
