Multiple Settings LF 1x1 RP &/or World/Character Building Partner

Introduction:

Hey y'all, VN here! Figure I'd throw this out there and start jumping into things.

Guess I'll start with a shortened version of my 'About Me.'

You can call me VN or Vox (he/him) and I'm a hobbyist storyteller.

I've mostly roleplayed through TTRPGs (D&D, Tales from the Loop, Urban Shadows, etc.) primarily as a GM, though I do love getting to play PCs when I can.

I'm a strong believer in using Safety Tools in roleplay, because everyone should feel safe and have fun at the table (or in the RP) even when we're pushing the boundaries of our comfort zones.

With that said, let's get into genres and potential ideas I'm down to roleplay! I'll be adding/removing ideas as I feel. If you have any ideas that fall under these genres, feel free to pitch them to me, who knows? I might be interested.

RP Ideas:

Note: Unless specifically stated, roles are not gendered.

Sci-Fi: (tbh I've got quite a hankering for Sci-fi since I end up GMing a lot of fantasy settings) Traditional SF, Cyberpunk, Steampunk, Military, Mecha, Science Fantasy, Space Opera, and Space Cowboy. Post/Apocalyptic or Virtual if the idea catches my fancy.

Spoiler: Sci-Fi Ideas:

• Love, Death, and Robots: (Cyberpunk/Traditional SF) - While not a Fandom, most certainly inspired by the Netflix Show, among other things. In this setting, I'd really want to explore the relationships (both platonic and romantic) between humans/humanoids/cyborgs and robots/androids/AI. May end up being an Anthology of sorts, similar to the show.

  • Robot Repair Scrap Doctor (Human/Cyborg) x Robot/Android (type TBD)
  • Android Overlord x Human
• Till I Collapse (Royal Mecha Knight x Heir-to-the-Throne): (Mecha) A royal mecha knight must escort the fleeing Heir-to-the-Throne after a coup overthrows their family. (Media inspiration: Code Geass)

Fantasy: High Fantasy, Sword and Sorcery, Romantic, Urban, and Fairytale. If the idea intrigues me, I might consider Contemporary, Dark, or Low fantasy.

• First Contact (Scientist x Shaman): (Romantic Fantasy) A fantasy setting where an expedition from a scientific civilization makes contact with an arcane based civilization.
• Cats vs Dogs (Cat Thief vs Wolf Pack Leader): (Urban Fantasy) Shape changers in a city full of political intrigue, warring factions, and dark secrets. (If you've ever heard of or played the TTRPG Urban Shadows, you'll have a good idea of my type of Urban Fantasy).

General Ideas: Ideas that could fit multiple genres depending on how we wanted to spin it.

I could be convinced to do something Modern or Anime or perhaps another gengre, but the idea would really have to grab my attention. I will not do Fandoms, as I don't enjoy playing characters I don't truly understand.

Personal RP Prefences/Style

• While I tend to write from the male perspective, as it is what I have personal experience as, I have no problems writing/playing characters of any gender. As a GM, I've played the roles of every kind of NPC. The only time I might be iffy is playing a F character into another M's M character, unless I trust them.
• I can write into any type of relationship combo and dynamic.
• I'm fine with doubling and writing whatever side characters may be needed. Most of my favorite stories & shows have well-written side characters.
• I enjoy eschewing gender roles & tropes. I like my softbois, my himbos, and my twinks as much as I like my edgy night lords.

RP Partner Preferences

• Age: 18+ Please
• "Yes, and . . . " and "No, but . . . " - I understand that not every idea that pops into my head should be green-lit, but I also shouldn't feel like I'm being driven down a tunnel. If I feel that you're hard-walling everything I do, I'll inform you, and if it continues, will drop the the RP.
• Post Frequency: Once a week - This is preferred. As much as I'd love to post every day, I travel a lot for work, so it's not something I can commit to and I won't hold you to a higher standard. I also understand that life happens, just let me know when you can, so that I know you aren't ghosting me! That being said, I'll try to post as often as I can (within reason).
• Post Length - I don't have a particular post length, but what I ask is that you post something that moves the RP forward. If that is a 1-line post that introduces a plot-point for me to respond to, then that's just fine. But if I feel that you're repeatedly giving me very little to work with or not doing anything of substantive benefit, I will let you know. If it continues, I will politely inform you that the RP isn't working out for me and drop it.
• OOC - I'd love to be able to chat OOC about our RP. I'm big into world/lore building and would love to be able to bounce world building and story plotting off each other. Now you don't have to be as in-depth as me, but I'd like to play catch more than wall ball with myself.
• Communication - I am open to any and all constructive criticism, emphasis on constructive and feedback. If you feel I'm not pulling my own weight, or doing something wrong, I want to know so that I can try and address it. If we don't agree, then its better we get it out in the open then leaving it to fester and rot the RP.

Well, with that said, I hope to hear from some of you soon! I'll probably limit myself to 1 or 2 RPs at a time.
