Fandom Let's Travel Across Unova Together

_Graphite_

Dreams disappear when the dreamer wakes.
It was a beautiful day in the Unova region: the sky was clear and blue, flocks of Pidove soared through the air, and a cool breeze blew about. Making his way through Route 1 was a young blonde hair boy. A contended say escaped his lips as he watched a pack of Lilipup scampered about. Compared to the big cities of Unova things were a lot quieter and John didn't mind. Standing besides him was a Larvitar who was happily munching away at an Oran Berry that it had found from one of the nearby bushes. One thing was sure, John coulz stand there for hours soaking in the natural beauty of Route 1. It definitely beat the hustle and bustle of Nimbasa City

It was the beep of an Xtransceiver that brought the boy back to reality. With a "Hmm?" He glanced down at the device and noticed he had a message from his mother. Opening the message he read, "Hey kiddo sorry for the late reply! You know how it goes work and all that... Anyways I see you made it to Nuvema Town! Hope the trip from Nimbasa wasn't too rough on you! A long road is ahead of you, but I know you and Malachite can overcome anything! Just promise me you'll be safe and I look foward to the day you challenge my Gym not as my son but as a trainer! <3" That message was enough to form a long smile across John's face. Between modeling and running a gym Elesa was constantly busy, yet she could always find time to dote over her son.

Soom afterwards John began to type his own response, 'We actually just left Nuvema Town and are now headed towards Accumula Town. And there's no need to worry about me mom. As you said I have Malachite with me, the two of us will keep an eye on each other." With that he hit send. Glancing down at the Larvitar who stood beside him he spoke, "Well Malachite we should be off. Our journey is about to get under way." With that the two continued down Route 1.

“Core it seems mother and father packed plenty of things for us. They made sure to buy all the latest gadgets, clothes, and items for catching Pokémon.”Calista said softly to the pokemon in her arms. She gave the little apple shape a gentle rub as it swayed lightly in her arms listening to her. “It was nice of them to help so much when they are both rather busy father with his science work and mother judging contests.”she murmured to her beloved partner. The pair of them currently were off to the side sheltering under a tree on Route 1 making sure to stay out of the way. “It’s going to be fun traveling all of Unova with you I hope we meet plenty more partners along the way. I’m going to be one of the best coordinators around I know with your help I’ll succeed.”her warm voice sounded like the tinkling of bells chiming as she spoke.

Then the sound of footfalls caught hers and Core’s attention the pair looking towards the sound. It appeared to be a male around her own age with a Larvitar walking along side him. ‘Oh I haven’t seen a Larvitar in person before it’s a rather cute pokemon. I bet it would be even more adorable with a little bow tie for competitions.’She mused to herself before standing up. She wasn’t usually one to bother others in fact most the time her shyness kept her from approaching others. However she couldn’t resist seeing such an adorable partner pokemon.”Excuse me would you mind if I took a look at your partner? I’ve never seen a Larvitar in person before so I just had to ask.”she said warmly her pale blue eyes held excitement and curiosity. She did hope it wouldn’t be a bother maybe she was being to forward that thought had her pale cheeks turning a bright pink in embarrassment.

Both John and Malachite had only been walking for a few minutes before a soft voice chimed out. John's eyes reared towards the direction the sound originated from and noticed a young white-haired girl standing beneath a nearby tree. Slightly confused John pointed to himself and asked, "Are...you talking to me?" He quickly glanced around to see of there was anyone else nearby. It really shouldn't have taken John as long as it did to realize that she was indeed speaking to him. The biggest giveaway should've been the fact that the two of them were the only ones there, and between them he was the only one with a Larvitar. "S-Sure. I don't have a problem with that." He finally responded. As far as first impressions went this definitely wasn't the best. He must've looked like quite the fool to this girl.

Not wanting to keep the girl waiting any longer the two of them made their way over. "Well go on. Say hello Malachite." On command the reptilian like Pokémon took a few steps closer and offered her a toothy grin. "Tar! Larvitar!" Malachite cried out in greeting.

While Malachite was busy offering his greeting John took this time look the girl over: he took note of her pale complexion, her icy-blue eyes, her flowing white hair, and in her hands she held an... apple? No it couldn't have been an apple; it seemed to be wiggling around and the two leaves at its top appeared to be looking at him. Realizing that it may have looked like he was staring John quickly tore his gaze away. "Sorry. It's just that apple your holding, it doesn't look at all natural."

Vincent Jameson

Vincent sat beneath one of Route 1's many trees, his notebook and pencil in hand as he continued to work on a concept sketch he had begun not too long ago. The sketch, for anyone that saw it, resembled an art-deco theatre stage of some kind, complete with Yamask masks stylized to resemble the Masks of Tragedy and Comedy that had grown to become an icon of stage performances.

As the young man made pencil marks upon the note paper, his Pokémon, a Zorua, placed one of their stubby paws onto the paper and gently pressed down in an attempt to see what his Trainer was up to. In response, Vincent briefly stopped sketching to gingerly lift the Zorua's paw off of the paper and back onto the soft green grass. "Easy there, buddy." Vincent said to them, giving his Pokémon a gentle rub between their ears. "You know what they say, good things come to little foxes who are patient, right Zach? I'll let you look when I'm finished for now."

Right as Vincent was about to resume his sketching, however, a wild Lillipup came up to him and swiped his pencil right out of his hand before running off with it. Zach let out a soft growl as he and his Trainer chased after them once Vincent put his notebook away. "Quick, Zach... use Pursuit!"

"Zorrr...ua!~" Zach pounced upon the Lillipup, and with an impish giggle, used his Illusion powers to become a doppelganger of the puppy Pokémon. The Lillipup was understandably confused by what had just happened, and in a fit of panic, tried to fight back against Zach, but had more than a fair share of trouble doing so. Try as the Lillipup might to Tackle Zach, he was quite nimble on his feet, retaliating with the move Round, courtesy of the next order from his Trainer, wherein he emitted a loud burst of sound. The wild Lillipup flailed its legs before fainting, its eyes becoming swirls as the pencil rolled out of its mouth and onto the ground.

With the battle over, Zach cancelled his Illusion as Vincent re-collected his stolen pencil. As he was about to return to the base of the tree he originally sat under, he caught sight of two other Trainers, one of which traveled with a Larvitar, and the other... some sort of strange apple, possibly a Pokémon? Whatever the case, if the apple truly was a disguised Pokémon, it was certainly one that Vincent had never seen before.

Come to think of it, that first Trainer looked somewhat familiar...

Calista looked a bit confused for a second then realized what he was talking about. She had almost forgotten that her partner was rare in this region unless transferred over. “Oh that’s because this isn’t an apple. This is my partner pokemon Core, he’s an Applin from the Galar region. Here he’s super friendly if you’d like to see him.”she said offering out the little wiggling apple pokemon. A small green tail flicked behind Core as he examined the trainer he was being offered out to. Once the male had taken her friend she knelt down offering her hand out for the Larvitar to examine. “My you are just so adorable I bet you’d look cute in a bow tie.”she said gently rubbing Malachite under the chin. Her gaze then flicked back towards the Larvitar partner glancing him over slightly shaggy brown hair with soft green eyes. Her icy blue eyes examined him a bit more for some reason he looked slightly familiar but she was sure she’d never met him before now.

“Oh my names Calista Greenwood and I’m from Castelia City.”Calista introduced herself having forgotten to do that in the beginning. A light flush covered her cheeks again how she had forgot to introduce herself was beyond her. While she waited to hear his name a sound startled her it was a rustling kind of sound. Her head turned swishing long white hair as she did so spotting another male with a little black and red fox pokemon. It looked like they had just won a battle against a wild pokemon.

Now it was John's turn for his cheeks to turn a rosey red. It hadn't been an apple after all, but a Pokémon. An Applin as a matter of fact. "You know I've never actually gotten the chance to see an Applin up close." He commented. From what little he knew about Applin was that the apple itself was no Pokémon; it was merely a home for the worm like creature within. Noticing the girls outstretched hands John was rather surprised to see that she offered him her Pokémon to examine. He gingerly took her Pokémon into his own hands and brought it closer to his eyes to examine it. "Well aren't you just an adorable little Pokémon." He mused "Tarrrr..." Malachite growled in pleasure as the girl scratched him undsr his chin.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Calista." John responded with a kind smile as he offered her Pokémon back. "My name is Johnathan Ashford, feel free to call me John though. I'm from Nimbasa City. That little guy there..." he paused to gesture towards the Larvitar before them, "is my partner Pokémon Malachite." On cue Malachite rasied a stubby little arm and waved it at Calista and her Pokémon. Noticing Calista attention had been caught elsewhere Johm's gaze followed hers and also noticed a boy with a Zorua.

“Nothing like on the go breakfast, again,” Lottie munched happily down the first route of many in this country, a few crumbs on her lip corners that she didn’t bother to flick off. She did not have her Pokémon immediately visible, it was bundled in her backpack, also munching.

The two munched as they crossed paths with a few misplaced trainers, some speaking some not. She warmly greeted each one, while her clefairy kept trying to offer everyone some of her pokefood. “Fae, if you keep sharing you won’t have any food left,” Lottie chided her gently, but that didn’t stop the clefairy from extending some to another very pretty girl with long white hair.

The fairy pokemon cried happily at the sight of more people and held up little blocks of pokefood to their companion pokemon too. She did, however, run out, and approached Lottie in tears begging for more to share. “See, now you don’t have any for you,” Lottie sighed as she picked the little pokemon back up, and it stopped crying.

“Sorry she’s very social,” Lottie giggled to both of them, clearly in love with her partner pokemon. “Are any of you leaving for Accumula town, by chance? I’d love the company,” she said it mostly for Fae, who loved having other people and Pokemon around. “If not, don’t worry,” she smiled again, very warm.

Vincent Jameson

It was when both of the other Trainers turned their gaze towards Vincent and his partner that he decided to say hello to them. Vincent picked Zach up and placed them comfortably on his shoulder as he strode over to the two of them. "Hi there." He said to both of them as he scratched the back of his head. "Sorry if Zach here made a ruckus-- a wild Pokémon kind of came up to me and snatched my pencil while I was taking a break from sketching... I kinda had to get it back, y'see."

Zach, meanwhile, waved one of his paws in a kind of modest, "Aww, it was nothing" manner.

"Hey, what are you talking about? I think you did a great job, buddy." Vincent said to Zach, giving the Zorua another rub between his ears. Turning back to the other Trainers, Vincent examined their Pokémon, though he primarily seemed interested in the Applin. "I've never seen a Pokémon like that before... did you say they were from Galar? That's a real interesting Region, from what I've heard. For one, they were the first Region to possess a Dark-type Gym in a world where Dark-type Pokémon were mainly seen in the Elite Four-- like Grimsley, for example. He's a mad gambler, but he apparently has the money to travel to Alola every now and again."

Realizing his Trainer had rambled on for a bit, Zach lightly tapped the side of Vincent's head to get his attention. "Oh, sorry... where are my manners? I'm Vincent Jameson, from Nimbasa City, and like I said, the little guy on my shoulder is Zach. I'm on a search for Dark-type Pokémon, myself. I might even want to go challenge the Gyms at some point, as a matter of fact. It'd be for... research." Vincent put a finger to his mouth upon saying the word research.

When a third Trainer, a female with a Clefairy, approached the group and asked if they were heading towards Accumula, Vincent nodded. "I'm going to be heading there. A journey must start somewhere, right?" Zach was enticed by the Clefairy's offer of food, but shook his head. If it were any other Zorua, chances are they would have already swiped the food from the Clefairy's grasp, but not a trained one like Zach... even if he was partially considering it in secret. "Don't worry, buddy. I'll get you something to eat."

Lottie listened as Vincent introduced himself quite kindly, his companion Zach watching them interact. She nodded eagerly, “And what’s a journey without some friends?” She seemed to become shy at the end of that sentence, her eyes a bit glossy as she quickly added, “The sooner we get to town, the sooner we can eat again.”

At this, Fae offered a happy cry, even though she still had food stored in her cheeks. “So Vincent is after dark type pokemon - are you both maybe type specialists too? I’m not,” She smiled, “Oh, um, Lottie. My names... Lottie. My brothers call me Marie... please don’t.” She smiled still, now standing alongside the group more naturally.

Brandon looked around in a small panic not seeing Flint anywhere. He had been distracted for only a minute and now his energetic partner had disappeared. Brandon sighed in exasperation as he continued his search hoping to find Flint soon. Brandon didn't want anything bad to happen to Flint to attached to the bunny Pokémon.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned Scorbunny was jumping through bushes happily and gave an excited "Scorbunny!" The Scorbunny looked around before realized he had wandered off quite a bit. Unable to see or hear he's trainer Flint began to worry.

Flint dashed through the bushes repeatedly crying out to find Brendon but no answer. Flint then noticed a group of trainers and their Pokémon. The little Pokémon feeling hope blossom without thinking tackled a girl trainer with short black hair. Flint looked up at her with tears in his eyes a continuous cry of Scorbunny coming from it.

Calista listened calmly as the two newcomers introduced themselves each of their pokemon unique personality wise. She was starting to feel a bit shy with so many people at once however it was also a bit nice seeing others her age. “I adore dragon type Pokémon.”she said softly with a smile. “Oh I’m heading that way as well. I’m just searching for some new Pokémon partners to help me with my coordination competitions.”she put in her reason for why she was traveling this way. Once she had Core back in her arms she watched his top little eyes wiggle lightly around looking over the new Pokémon. She heard Vincent mention about her Pokémon.”Oh yes he is from Galar he’s an Applin.”she said in case he hadn’t heard her say earlier what type of Pokémon he was.

“Well it would be nice to travel with others for a bit. It would probably make the journey a lot quicker then going by ones self. So if it’s alright I’ll also go with you guys to the next town.”she said with a smile her partner Core bobbed up and down its eyes looking happy.Calista was looking everyone over lightly again and their partner pokemon they were all rather interesting looking.

“Oh goodness you’re sure upset,” Lottie seemed to ignore the fact she’d been tackled into and knocked over by the little animal, immediately more worried about why it was so upset in the first place. Clefairy squealed in fear and ran behind one of the boys, clearly not quite ready for all this.

“Okay okay okay, one thing at a time,” Lottie pushed herself off the ground and back onto her feet, the scorbunny now protectively resting on her hip as if it were a child. “Now, what to do... you’re very pretty and healthy so you must belong to someone.”

“Hellooooooo!” She cupped her hands around her mouth, and then covered it with a gasp. “Gosh I hope it’s not poachers!” Clefairy then cried to be sat on her other hip, and the two small pokemon remained in her hold though she didn’t quite know how she suddenly was holding them both.

With the sudden arrival of so many new trainers John began to retreat into himself.

When the first stranger, who had introduced himself as Vincent, wandered his way over John was somewhat relaxed. Probably due to the fact that he was from Nimbasa as well. Now that he thought about it the last name Jameson did have prominence in Nimbasa City. Though it was probably coincidental more than anything. John quietly listened to the boy as he began to talk about Dark-Type Pokémon. In truth John found it curious that Vincent wanted to track down Dark-Types exclusively. As previously explained by him such Pokémon were hardly used in the Professional world. He was about to continue the conversation with Vincsnt when the sudden arrival of another girl caught him off guard.

Lottie, as she was named, had practically barged into their conversation though John had no ill will towards this. Though it didn't help that one of her first questions was whether or not they wanted to travel with her to Accumula Town. After all they had literally just met. "Well I-" John nervously shifted his weight from one foot to the next. Before he could answer her first question Lottie had fired another one. "N-no I'm not a type specialist either." He muttered out.

It wasn't until Castila had displayed her interest in also traveling together did John regain his composure. He took a quick glance in her direction and smiled. "You know what? Why not. If you're all on board then who am I to refuse?" He responded with a light shrug of his shoulders. Malachite let out a pleasant, "Lar!" When his trainer had decided to tag along with the groaing group.

Speaking of a growing group John heard the rapid approach of feet and within moments a rabbit like Pokémon had tackle Lottie to the ground. He watched as tears began to roll down its face on offered his own opinion, "Maybe it got separated from his trainer?"

Vincent Jameson

"I suppose you could say that, Lottie." Vincent answered when Lottie asked if he was a type specialist. "Though, there is one Pokémon I'm searching for that is apparently a Rock-type from Alola. With international travel being as prominent as it is, I've heard tell that non-native Pokémon are also following suit and finding new homes in different Regions."

Calista had mentioned her Pokémon was called an "Applin", and both Vincent and Zach leaned in a bit closer. "I guess they're a Dragon-type, huh? You said you like them. Either way, they're sorta cute."

It seemed that everyone present was keen on forming a small traveling group, and this made both Vincent and his Pokémon partner rather excited. "Sounds like we have ourselves a plan, then." Just then, Vincent's Xtransceiver beeped, and when he looked at it, he saw a message from his mother:

"Hi, sweetie! How's your adventure going? If you're heading to Accumula, you should stock up on Poké Balls. You know, I still can't get over it-- my own son wanting to become the world's second-ever Dark-type Gym Leader! Can't wait to see you back home! Oh, and I'll be sure to pass your little message on to Elesa."
Right when Vincent put his device away, a small rabbit-like Pokémon came up and tackled Lottie. Judging by its cries, the Pokémon, now sad and likely sorry for what it did, was called a "Scorbunny". Vincent kneeled down towards the Scorbunny and said, "Hey, don't cry... if you're lost, we'll find where you belong, little guy. Just sit tight, okay?"

Truth be told, the ending part of the message from Vincent's mother planted a thought in his head. The boy with the Larvitar-- he couldn't possibly be... him... could he? If what he was thinking turned out to be true, Vincent thought it best not to blurt out anything in the interest of protecting them from swarms of fans.

Brendon ran along looking through every hiding spot he came across hoping to see Flint anywhere. When he still couldn't find any trace of his partner his shoulders sagged in defeat as he went back into the path. He walked down it with a solemn look on his face as he grippe the straps of his backpack tightly. That is until he heard people talking a ways ahead of him. He debated on whether or not to go towards them but then realized that they might know have seen Flint around somewhere.

Getting a bit hopeful, Brendon went from a walk to a slightly faster walk. Once he saw the group properly he was about to call out to them until he noticed the Scorbunny that one of the girls was holding. At the same time Flint had looked away from the male trainer that was talking to him to look back the direction he head ran from only to start tearing up again. Brendon couldn't help himself but to grin.

"Flint!" Brendon yelled excitedly as he made his way over to the group.

Flint grinned happily at his approaching trainer waiting until Brendon was closer before jumping into him. Wrapping his arms and legs around his trainer while rubbing his face against Brendon's shoulder. Brendon laughed hugging Flint tightly even going so far as to rub his face on Flint's head. He pulled back and looked at the trainers especially the one that had been holding Flint. He dipped his head in thanks before straightening up and speaking.

"Thank you for finding him. I was so worried when I couldn't find him," Brendon says happily before releasing Flint who decided to sit on Brendon's shoulders. "Flint likes to explore a bit and has a tendency to get lost," Brendon added with a small laugh.

Lottie took her place between Vincent and the emerging trainer, as she seemed to be speaking mostly to the two. “An Alolan rock type here? Hmm, I should probably get me a big goal... but I’m kind of just waiting to snake someone’s throne.” She was hinting expressively at the possibility of her being a battle tower queen, like Caitlyn. “I hope you find it, truly.”

Watching the male and his expressive bunny partner, Flint, reunite made her feel warm - she has kept the little one safe till it’s trained returned with the help of these new friends, and that made her olive face a happy coral color. “Oh, I’m so happy you made it back! I don’t know what to do when they cry!” She said out loud, almost as relieved as the pokemon themselves. She spoke as if they were precious babies. “It’s probably just instinct that they wander, I can’t say anything, I get lost often. Fae doesnt... have a problem with that.”

She was briefly concerned and then let it go, instead waving warmly to Brandon while looking around for her little fairy bundle. The pink jelly bean was nearing her legs again, small paws on the girls calves. “There you are.” She smiled, “Ah, well, again, I’m Lottie, I’m excited we’re all together. I do have to get going, however,” She took a peek at her phone, which showed she was severely behind on the next helping of food.

“Stomachs rumbling and no trainer can be victorious on an empty stomach,” she giggled, and started ahead anyways, a subtle stroll with a small clefairy waddling in happy, little skips behind her.

It had only been a few minutes since the Scorbunny had arrived until John heard the sounds of someone rapidly approaching. He glanced in the direction the Scorbunny had come from and noticed a black-haired boy with amber colored eyes hurrying towards them. He wondered why the boy had worn such a saddened expression; though that question was quickly answered once the rabbit like Pokémon darted to him. So this boy must've been this Scorbunny's trainer. "Well it was more like he found us rather than us finding him." John chuckled. "Still I'm glad that the two of you were able to make it back to one another."

In his peripheral John couldn't help but notice Vincent staring in his direction. The way he was examining him made John uncomfortable. Luckily the sudden comment from Lottie had kept him from dwelling on it any longer. "Oh leaving so soon? I mean Accumula Town is still an hour so away and if it's food you're looking for then I don't mind making a quick lunch for everyone." He said while kicking the dirt with his shoe. "I mean... considering the fact that we all will be traveling together for the time being it would allow us to get to know each other better. Of course that is only if you all want to."

Vincent Jameson

Vincent watched as Scorbunny and Trainer were warmly reunited rather quickly when Brendon showed up. "At least you're happily back together. I know I'd be worried sick if one of my Pokémon got lost." He said to Brendon as he thumbed towards Zach, whose ears seemed to dip slightly upon Vincent mentioning the possibility of him getting separated from his Trainer.

Vincent smirked when Lottie wished him luck in finding the Rock-type Pokémon he had mentioned. "Well, I can't imagine it'd be too hard. I'd just have to keep my eyes and ears peeled for a red-eyed monster that pierces the stillness of night with a great, mighty howl. Still, I appreciate the gesture."

The "all-too-familiar boy" had then offered to make the group lunch, and Vincent politely shrugged at the offer. "Zach and I wouldn't object, isn't that right, pal?" Vincent looked to Zach, who nodded with a smile. Perhaps, even, Vincent might get a moment to speak with them in private, if only to confirm his suspicions. "You have our votes, that's for sure. But, let's see what everyone else thinks." While he waited for everyone else to chime in, Vincent introduced himself and Zach to those who didn't know their names. "I'm Vincent, Vincent Jameson. This little guy here on my shoulder is Zach."

Calista was getting a bit overwhelmed with everyone and everything happening so quickly. She wasn’t use to so many people though it was nice seeing people around her age. Then she heard John’s suggestion of him making them all some lunch.”Oh I would love to have some lunch first. It’s been a while since Core and I ate breakfast.”she said as Core bobbed up and down agreeing with her. She hoped the others would want to eat as well that way they could travel with nice full stomachs. It would also give them all some time to get to know one another a bit better. It wouldn’t do well if they started traveling and discovered they wouldn’t get along with each other.

She set Core down then dug in her backpack searching for something. Then she pulled out a hair tie swiftly gathering her waist length white hair pulling it into a tall pony tail. Once her hair was out of the way she smiled towards John.”I can help you if we all decide on eating some lunch first.”she said softly to him wanting to help since there were so many of them to feed.

A smile formed across John's lips as both Calista and Vincent agreed to his offer. "Great! In that case I'll get started right away!" He happily called out. The thought of preparing food for others excited him. Truth be told he always considered himself to be an amateur cook. With work keeping his mother busy throughout the day John took it upon himself to make breakfast and cook dinner. Overtime it actually became something he enjoyed and somewhat of a hobby of his.

Choosing a spot under one of the more well shaded trees John began to setup. Once finished he noticed Calista strolling towards his direction. "Oh sure! I'd very much appreciate the help." He responded. He looked over the supplies he had and tapped his lower lip in thought. "Hm should we make something light like sandwiches or make something a little bigger?" He asked Calista.
