Nina was a very unfortunate child. She had a awful mother and an emotionally absent father who cared little for his family. Her sister, Natasha, wasn’t the best either. They would get close and then in an episode of self sabotaging she would try her hardest to make Nina feel as awful about herself as she could. From a young age, Nina’s was expected to be nearly perfect. She was homeschooled and her studies were heavily monitored by her mother. Every failure was harshly punished. Which would usually end with Nina being locked in a storage closet with a book to study until her nose bled.



The only good influence in that house was her twin brother, Markus Lee. He was treated a lot better than her though. The was a boy, and he wasn’t diagnosed as autistic. That was enough for him to gain favoritism from his mother and older sister. But he was distant towards them and gave more of his affection to Nina. He’d sneak her out of the closet she was usually locked in or sneak her food when she wasn’t allowed to eat dinner.



Once Markus was old enough to realize that abuse wasn’t normal. He was the one who got Nina out of that house. He convinced his mother to let her live with their grandmother. She refused for years until she eventually gave in. The condition was that he couldn’t go with her. So Nina was basically thrown into her grandma’s house. And she’s just kinda been their ever since, mostly getting used to not being abused and helping take care of her grandmother.

Natasha and Nina have a complicated relationship. Nina wanted to be closer to her sister, and sometimes they were able to get along and show sisterly affection for each other. But sooner or later, Natasha would always go back to being spiteful and bitter towards Nina. Nina isn’t sure if Natasha wa a just pretending to be nice to make Nina more upset when she was mean. Or if the good moments were actually real. But Nina learned a lot from her sister. Never trust anyone, even if they’re kind to you. Everyone’s going to betray or abandon you in the end anyways.

Grandmother

Nina’s grandmother confused her when they first met. She’s tough and independent woman. To be honest, she didn’t even need Nina as a caretaker, yet took Nina in anyways. Nina didn’t know why. Amelie, Ames to her friends, is a simple girl. She is kind and respectful to those who deserve her respect. Once you’ve earned her trust, Amelie will go to war for you. She doesn’t like bullies, or people who talk just to make others feel bad. She doesn’t like seeing any of her friends sad or uncomfortable, so she will mess someone up if they hurt her friend’s feelings. Trust me, if she likes you, you won’t be dealing with bullies for much longer.

Loyal-
As stated above, Amelie will do anything for her friends. While her trust is hard to gain and easy to lose, it is a powerful thing to have. She won’t leave you in times of trouble, and she’ll walk through hell with you if she has to. She’ll make sure you get through whatever you’re going through because- well, she’s not one to give up easily. And she’s not going to give up on her friends, not in a million years.

As mentioned above, Amelie doesn't trust anyone with her problems. She'll write, she'll cook, but she won't tell anyone what's going on. As a result of her reluctance to trust people, she's good at masking her feelings and deflecting when someone asks how she's doing. This has lost her a few friends over the years, but it keeps her from getting hurt. She masks until she can't, and she often gets violent when she can't mask her feelings anymore. Either that or she locks herself in the kitchen and cooks until she doesn't feel feelings anymore.

Ignorant to Her Needs-
Amelie is almost notorious for not taking care of herself. She's gone without food or sleep for days because she was working on projects for school or working at her job in the coffee shop. She won't really do anything to help herself unless someone pushes and prods and forces her to. She thinks of her health as the least important thing in her life, only considering it when it would hinder her ability to help other people.

Amelie Terrence was born at, quite possibly, the worst time of her parents' lives. Her mother was working on one of the most important projects of her life, one that could have made her the region's best biomedical engineer if she had been the first to it. Her father was in a dark patch, drinking day and night, angry all the time. She was the child they had once prayed for, the child they now despised. As a result, she never got much attention growing up, not unless her father was hitting her or yelling at her for some thing she'd supposedly done wrong. It seemed like they hated her for just existing. And it only got worse when her mother lost her job. The anger of both parents was turned at her. Her father's form of punishment was physical, cutting and bruising her. Her mother, however, was more cruel. Meals were withheld unless her grades were perfect and the house was spotless. Every time she acted out, which happened on such a rare occasion, they would take away something she loved. Her record player, her bed, her favorite stuffed animal, and even her pet rabbit were all taken away.

When Amelie was 13, someone reported her parents to CPS. She was put into foster care, where she was tossed from home to home until she was adopted out by a young couple- Mr. and Mrs. Terrence. It took a while for her to warm up to them, but they were nice people. Good people. They helped her discover her love for baking and cooking. Mr. Terrence taught at the local high school, where Amelie was enrolled, so she never felt alone. But it didn't stop her from looking for support elsewhere. And she found a good bit of support in the form of a boyfriend. But, as she learned too late, he wasn't really there to support. He copied her homework, leeched off her good reputation, and gave her nothing for all the effort she put into making the relationship work. And when she tried to break up with him, he guilt-tripped her into staying. It was only when Amelie told her parents about him that the issue was resolved. But the experience never left her, and she became more withdrawn than before.

But of course, she could never catch a break. When she was 15, disaster struck again. She was on her morning jog when a dog attacked her. She wasn't alone on the trail, so there were people to help her fight it off, but she didn't escape unscathed. The attack, however small of a chance it was, left her with a permanent fear of dogs and scars that would never leave. She locked herself in her room for a full three days until she got hungry, and then she baked like the world was about to end. The past three years have been quiet, other than a small cooking accident, and she intends to keep it that way.

She loves drama, sure, but she just wants to enjoy her holiday break.

Ames is 5’10”, an ectomorph body type with a lithe figure. She has hazel eyes that look green in some lighting, speckled with gold. Slightly wavy, brown hair that she normally keeps very short.   Elina Fox was born on the 15th of December. Her family was very low class, only barely earning enough to pay for the necessities. She never lived a life of luxury and she could never afford too. Ever since she was a child, she was determined to excel in everything she did, to be smarter so she could climb up in the world. Her parents were never home, honestly they barely even cared about her. That was where she picked her love for cooking, since her parents were never home, she learned how to cook for herself, even with the little ingredients she had available to her. She learned first aid, how to do laundry, basically everything she needed to know to take care of herself and other people. She had picked this up fairly quickly, her intelligence was always remarkable to most people. Her teachers always regarded her as smart, usually being ahead of the class and answering tests and assignments with ease.

Yet she always looked calm, composed, and ready to help others. But overtime, it also became part of her routine, she came to like doing it, but that didn’t make it any less tiring.

  This was it, the year where she’d have to apply to colleges. It terrified her, if she didn’t get in, she might be stuck in a place of poverty for a long time. Places that earned a lot, usually favored people with Ivy League degrees. Her parents didn’t know about this dream, she didn’t see a need to tell them. They barely ever did anything for her, they didn’t even come to award ceremonies for her academic achievements, she was doubtful she would even come to her graduation. It didn’t matter, she would reach that goal no matter what.

Phoenix’s family has always been very well off, she has never had to work a day in her life. It wasn’t until she turned fifteen that she started to feel like her parents were spoiling her, at that young of an age she knew that her parents were enabling her in some way.

She heard the way that kids at school would brag about getting their first job and how excited they were for their future.

On the other hand all her parents would talk about is how they won’t ever see their child poor, “You don’t ever have to move out.” They always loved to say.

Made her feel like they didn’t have any faith in her ever succeeding, yeah having money is nice but achieving something yourself with nobody else’s help is different.

It would be silly to say that she didn’t love the constant gifts that her parents always gave her. Sure she was very grateful as well, it was just the thought of being independent that made her ask her parents to get a job.

Well as independent as a fifteen year old girl could be.

After getting her first job she began to save up to move out. Why? Phoenix doesn’t know, it was just the drive of saving up for something so big, something she could spend her own money on.

A part of her wanted to prove to her parents that she wasn’t going to freeload off of them for the rest of her life.

She can be someone successful too.

As the packed away money started to build up in the bank for years Phoenix has been trying to tell her parents what the money is actually for.

Enoch is not a complex creature, rather simple really. He has a stray cat mentality: give him food and affection and he’ll never leave you alone. He likes cuddles and head pats, and he’s in dire need of a nap. So yeah, basically a stray cat.

Positive Traits:
Affectionate-
As mentioned above, Enoch is very tactile and shows his love for people through physical affection. Hand holds? Yes. Hugs? Yes. Cuddles? Absolutely, without question. Physical affection is his love language, so if you ever need someone to snuggle, he’s there.

Respectful-
While he loves physical affection and friendly banter, he understands that some people don’t. The most important thing to him is understanding people’s boundaries and knowing what they can and can’t do. He knows what it’s like to be in a situation where you feel like your boundaries are being pushed, and he doesn’t want anyone to feel that way.

Kind-
Enoch is probably one of the kindest people you will ever meet. Other than the occasional joke or friendly banter, he is very tender and sweet. He gives out compliments, hugs, all his love for free. Sometimes he’s too sweet, almost like he’s faking it, but he’s usually genuine.

Anxious-
While Enoch is very kind and pleasant to be around, he holds a lot of fears and anxieties about....everything. He constantly worries about what he’s doing, if people feel comfortable around him. If he feels like he’s done something wrong, he will apologize repeatedly. He can’t stand being a failure, and he’ll break down if someone yells at him.

Choosy-
Due to his complicated relationship with food, Enoch can often be difficult with meals. Certain textures, flavors, and consistencies bother him and put him on edge. It can be difficult to have him try something new, or even eat a variation of something he’s already eaten.

Overworking-
As stated above, Enoch can’t stand being a failure. He’ll work himself into the ground before he admits defeat. He often takes on more work than he needs to, works harder than he has to. He doesn’t want to be the best, but top 3 would be nice, maybe it would make his parents so proud at last.

Physical/Mental Ailments-
Enoch has a weak immune system, but he’s fine physically. He has ADHD and Tourette's syndrome, which result in his food issues and other harmful behaviors.

BIOGRAPHY

Enoch was born unusual. He had an affinity for reading, obsessed with specific subjects for weeks at a time, before abandoning them to a new obsession later. He also had a tendency to repeat phrases, or hit himself on desks and walls. This concerned his parents, so they took him to a neurologist. He was diagnosed with ADHD and Tourette's syndrome. They didn't take it very well. Where he had once received their love and absolute adoration, he had been abandoned like an unloved toy. As if his disorder made him some awful creature that didn't deserve their love. "What parent wants a spaz for a son?" they spat at him. So he learned to mask it. He tried to focus, to not get distracted. He suppressed his tics, redirected them so they were less "annoying". It took its toll on him, and eventually he just gave up trying.

He was teased for it in school, for all the things he did. "Look at ticky boy over there, looks like a puppet, no control over his body", and the insults, while not very creative, did affect him. But he still did well in school, all A's and no disciplinary action needed. Which drew more attention to him. Still teased for everything he did, especially at lunchtime. "Why can't you eat it? You allergic or something?" they sneered at him. So he stopped eating. Pushed the food around until it looked like he'd eaten something. His weight dropped until he collapsed one day. His parents were furious. "Wasting food like that...so stupid...", so he tried not to do it. But his food issues remained, the textures and flavors still set him on edge. But that was just life, he just had to deal with it.

Enoch is recovering, eating more and smiling more. He's still teased in school, and he still doesn't have a lot of friends, but he's doing better. He's doing alright.

APPEARANCE

Enoch is 5'5", an ectomorph body type with a slight figure. He has brown doe eyes, so soft and dark that they pierce your soul. Wavy brown hair that he keeps short, it flops in his eyes and swoops over his forehead, depending on his recent activities it could be completely flattened. He is very pale, due to the fact that he rarely ever goes outside. His style is mostly comfy shirts, sweatpants, and whatever jacket he finds lying on the floor. He wears a few rings on special occasions, but other than that, he doesn't wear any jewelry or have any body modifications.

With how accident prone this boy is, he's got a lot of scars. Little scars on his hands from that time he accidentally shattered a glass bottle, scars on his forearms from that time the boiling-ramen-water splashed on him, the list goes on. There are some scars that he is more secretive about, namely the ones on his back. No one knows where they came from, and he won't tell anyone either. They're his secret, one of the only ones he keeps.

    Grayson was born in New York City. At first, just about every aspect of his life was perfect. He was the only child in a wealthy family, and his parents still managed to give him all the attention in the world. They were extremely supportive of every decision he made. When he was around six years old, he practically begged for voice lessons and dance classes. Shortly after, he became a part of multiple theatre companies, and everyone in those companies immediately loved him. Every time he auditioned, he scored a lead role. Life was amazing. Once he started high school, however, everything started to take a turn for the worse. The minor teasing he faced in middle school got worse, to the point where going to school was borderline life-threatening. Drugs became a coping mechanism instead of a recreational thing. He hated being sober. He was willing to do just about anything to block out everything.
    
    But shit only got worse from there. In his sophomore year, Gray's father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Gray started taking online courses and refused to leave his room or talk to anyone until his father died. Not even his own family. His bedroom floor was often littered with empty bottles of alcohol. Not long after, he was hospitalized for his first suicide attempt - and it wouldn't be his last. In his junior year, his mother decided to move to a small house in Laurel, Illinois. Gray was also forced to go back to public school. He received very little attention from his mother, and when she did give him attention, it was because he did something stupid and she was going to hit him. In a desperate attempt to get things back to normal, he decided to start doing theatre again.   Neurotic Leif is quite a neurotic person. He's unsure about most things and always making sure whether he’s doing something correctly. He just has to be sure about everything, and that shows as his habits of checking multiple times whether the door is actually closed or whether he remembered to turn on the stove.
  Easily stressed Leif can’t handle stress at all. In stressful situations he just freezes and loses his capability to do anything. Sadly even small things can cause stress to him, and being stressed is probably one of his most constant states of mind.
  Judgemental Leif can be surprisingly judgemental. For example if he has been wronged in the past by a certain person he tends to be wary of similar people. If he hears gossip she can’t help but believe in it.

  AirheadLinnea is bit of an airhead girl, who doesn’t always understand everything. The one others would call either “secret (dumb) blondie” or a “bimbo”. She has a tendency to ask rather obvious questions. For some people it’s part of her charm and for some people it’s just purely annoying.
  PositiveLinnea has a positive outlook on life. She's often in good mood and able to cheer others up. Other people are rarely able to bring her down. For example she doesn’t mind being called dumb: instead she will just be like “I really am!” and laugh out loud. Linnea is a cheerful personality and prone to laugh easily. She doesn’t always understand jokes, but laughs anyway. She doesn’t want to miss out from the fun so she fakes a laugh if needed. While making jokes herself she can’t usually get any words out because she’s giggling so much.
  OutgoingLinnea is both ongoing and social. She loves talking with almost anyone and isn't one to stay long times at home. She comes well along with different people. However if you wish to have a deep conversation, Linnea isn’t your go-to-girl. Her vocabulary is pretty limited. She had a bad habit of forgetting her stuff everywhere too. Linnea is definitely not an artistic person but neverthless she has a habit of stating that being too organised and clean kills one's creativity.
  Two-faced Linnea's biggest fault is her tendency to act two-faced. She really hates this feature about herself but usually doesn't even notice when she’s acting that way. At least that's what she says if someone confronts her about the subject. In actuality she finds this feature useful.   Oliver is, simply put, kind of an asshole. He snaps easily, with a short fuse, and doesn't take kindly to going anywhere near strangers or other people, really--though he's often dragged along to certain places by his very few friends. He's mean, and rude, and he doesn't seem to care how other people feel about him.

  Oliver was born into a lower class family. His father died when he was young, so his mother worked a lot to support them. Her job required quite a bit of travel, so Oliver got used to never staying in the same place for long. PERSONALITY

While Reagan seems like a party animal (*cough* jerk *cough*), there's a lot more to him. He's a bit hard to get to know, but he can be easily persuaded with caffeine and hard candies.

Positive Traits:
Observant-
The minute someone feels upset, he knows. He can see it in their body language, hear it in their voice. And while he's not the best at feelings, or helping people, he can find someone who knows what they're doing and get a comforting person over to the upset person. And if people are happy/scared/any other emotion, it isn't hard for him to tell. The hard part is experiencing those feelings himself.

Thoughtful-
If you want something, he's out of his seat and biking to the nearest gas station. Whenever he makes his weekly energy drink runs, he picks up something for his friends. Feeling sad and need your comfort food? He's running out the door to go get it for you. He shows his love and appreciation through actions, rather than words. You're cold? That jacket is off his shoulders and onto yours in a heartbeat. Feel sick? He just bought five cans of soup from the store for you. He can seem like a jerk sometimes, but he's there for his friends.

Persistent-
Once he has a goal, he will stop at nothing to achieve it. He finds something he loves, and he sticks with it. He's very stubborn in this way, and will continuously ask questions in order to discover the real answer to problems. If one of his friends is being secretive or reclusive, he will pester them so he can figure out how to help them best. And if they want to be left alone, he might have a bit of trouble, but he'll leave them be.

Negative Traits:
Overthinking-
Due to some bad experiences with relationships and communication in the past, Reagan has a tendency to overthink things. If someone seems upset after a conversation with him, anxiety sets in and he begins to second guess his every word. If someone looks uncomfortable around him, he flees and tries to think of what he did wrong. Overall, it has helped him avoid some toxic people, but he's also lost friends due to him overthinking.

Withdrawn-
As mentioned above, Reagan isn't the best person for talking about feelings or interaction in general. He prefers to keep to himself, and limits social interaction when he can. He can often be very uncomfortable in situations with a lot of noise or a lot of people talking to him at one time. He never really feels secure in what he says, so he just keeps quiet and doesn't offer his input.

Anxious-
Him? Anxious? Psh. He'd never admit it, but he struggles with anxiety. His caffeine intake certainly doesn't help, and his anxiety can get really bad at times. Being able to calm down has always been a struggle for him, and it's difficult for him to relax and sit still in even the most calm situations. His fight-or-flight reflexes are always turned up to 12, in case something happens and he needs to run away.

Physical/Mental Ailments:
Reagan is in *mostly* perfect health, but he suffers from anxiety (generalized, social, and separation).

BIOGRAPHY

Reagan was the baby that no one wanted. His parents were teens, and neither of them were ready for the responsibility of raising a child. So they left him to the childcare system, where he grew up. He knew nothing of stability, of parental affection. He never felt loved, or like he belonged. The other kids stayed away from him naturally, so then he gave them a reason to. He became a cold, violent person, pushing everyone away. His social worker retired, and his replacement cared about Reagan even less. He thought of ending it all, being free from his awful life.

When he was 13, Reagan broke into his current foster mother's medicine cabinet and downed a bottle of sleeping pills. He woke up in the hospital the next morning, finding out he was being transferred to yet another foster home. They were nicer there, which surprised him. But he stayed the same. He was cold, unapproachable, lashing out whenever they tried to get close to him. And yet, they persisted. His foster mother made an effort to be interested in his hobbies, complimenting his art and his writing. She let him tend to her small herb garden, even help her plant some vegetables. She was kind to him.

At age 14, Willow Alameria adopted him, permanently, along with two other foster children. They were the Alameria quartet, the mother and three kids. They were known as the quirky, chaotic family that "normal" people tended to avoid. Reagan and his sisters often went to the woods on adventures, making up stories and tying daisy chains. Until they adventured too far. They had found an abandoned building on the outskirts of town, climbing through it and having fun as they always did. At the second floor, Tori playfully pushed Reagan. He tripped and fell, impaled on a piece of metal. That was the last time the three children explored together.

From then on, Reagan explored alone. Gathering his fair share of memories and new scars, pissing off every bully he could find. He's trying to enjoy the winter, but damn it's cold.

APPEARANCE

Reagan is 5'8", a mesomorph body type with an unintimidating figure. He has light green eyes that are always filled with mischief, they look blue and sparkle in some lighting. His natural hair color is dark-brownish-black, but his hair is always dyed some absurd color, such as orange or purple. He has a slight tan, zero freckles, as he spends a lot of time inside and he's only outside when the sun is down. He has earlobe and helix piercings, no tattoos. Wears rings, bracelets, and other jewelry frequently.

With his habit of picking fights and getting into trouble, it's no surprise that he has scars. Many are small, cuts and burns and little scrapes collected over the years. Others are larger, scarier. There's a wide scar on the left-bottom side of his torso from being impaled, a stab wound on his upper left shoulder blade, and a burn down his right leg (thigh to upper shin) from where he dropped a pan of hot oil.

  To put it simply, Kismet is a bit of a goofball. He enjoys actively making others smile and laugh, whether it’s through witty remarks or stupid actions.   Kismet’s family is rather small. For as long as he can remember, it’s always been just his parents and himself. Both his mother and father work long hours, rarely having the time to come home for more than quick meals and naps. Before moving to Laurel a few years ago, they moved around a lot. He always wished that he could have a younger brother or sister, but his parents had no plans to have other children.
