Calla stood at the entrance of her brand new guild. Spending months building it with magic and her own hands along with the consultation of architects and mages skilled for this sort fis work. Though she wanted to do it herself. Only asking for advice and the knowledge to do so. It took a long time, but she made a sound structure. One easily manipulated by her own powers too. Interior size would not be a problem, Calla felt quite proud of that. It took so long but she got her wish, she made her promise come true. She saw the name on the application.

They gathered at the bottom of the front steps. The Fae stood at the top. Her hand went up to fix a few strands of hair pulling them behind her ear as well as checking if her shifting was still working. Of course it was, she was being paranoid. This would all go according to plan. Her back straightened, standing tall she counted. Seven....eight....nine...all nine. All the names are here. Calla looked down at them, she smiled in greeting and stopped herself from using magic to project her voice. It would only add to the dramatics in a cheesy fashion, her style was more refined that that, mostly.

“Welcome,” she called out, “As you all know, I am Calla Rose and here you stand at the Guild hall. I can guarantee all of you a room inside if you choose to take it. I am glad looking forward to working with each of you, towards creating and strengthening our bonds as a team, as a guild. I hope you will come to call this place home as I have and improve upon ourselves and our knowledge as we aid those who come to the guilds in need. All of you must be as eager as I am to start this chapter in not only in our lives but the history of Kolan and the world itself as we bring back the traditions of guild work, and improve upon them.”

She paused, letting that sink in before continuing. “Now come inside and make yourselves at home. There’s food available to everyone and once we settle, we can go over ground rules and guidelines.” With that the Fae stepped aside and motioned the group to walk into the guild, feeling a little ridiculous in the simple human guise. Though with out it, all of this wouldn’t be possible.

The couple went upstairs. Still holding hands Genji looked at her and smiled, "Heh what must we hide from prying eyes my princess?" He asked as they entered the room.

“So that I can take a break from my charade.” As soon as she closed the door she shifted her ears and fangs back to normal. “And just be us ourselves for the night.”

"Heh, since when were you never yourself? Cold, loving, and cute all at once." He smiles

Her freckles flash pink. “At least, I won’t have to keep up my human illusions in here with you.” She gets closer to Genji. “And just focus on us.”

He smiles and kisses her gently on the lips. "Did I finally win you over? I still haven't paid you that last piece of gold.” He chuckles and wraps his arms around her waist

Another flash of glowing pink. “You haven’t said I love you yet to give over the last piece.” She smiled softly. Slowly her arms wrapped around his shoulders.

"Hmm...you're right, well I love you...and nothing in the world would ever stop me from loving you or risking my life for you." His left hand reached into his pocket to hand her a gold piece. "What do you do with the gold anyway?" He asked chuckling a bit

She slipped the gold piece into her pocket. “You will see soon enough. Trust it will be something you will find, delightful.” Calla smiles and this time, leans in to kiss him softly

He smiled. "Heh I've really grown on you haven't i?"

“We have been through a lot together, I would hate to think we wouldn’t get close after all that.” The glow in her face would not go away now.

His face gets equally as red. “I see nothing standing between us now, not after being parted so long.” She took a moment to cast a spell to keep the noise inside the room as much as possible.

    •••••••

"Heh...i love all of you, my hands just so happen to be here...”

    •••••••

“ Fae Don’t usually have partners like this...”

    •••••••

"Heh its odd seeing you smile but i love it, i assume you won't show anyone else hehe." She always seemed to want to keep her emotions to him and no one else. He couldn't help but smile back his lovely future wife. "I love you..."

She blushed more at his words. Calla would never be so emotionally vulnerable with anyone else. But she felt....she still didn’t feel as could say those words back. She just wanted him to know she did love him with out the words, just in feeling. Her hands brought him close to her. “You say it, a thousand times over. Why don’t you show me, what love you hold for this Fae? And I can show you what I hold for my elven Prince?” Her lips found his and enticed them to open for a fully explorational kiss.

    •••••••

In the morning the two would be wrapped around each other, but not for long. The sun rose into the sky and with it the Fae sat up. “Wake Genji, we have a lot of work to do today.” She smiled softly as she shook him awake. After dressing and shifting to appear human Calla took a moment to re-braid her hair. Looking in the mirror for a moment, she didn’t appear that different....but it was all the difference in the world to her.

After the guild took their time to wake and get prepared to leave she took a moment to address them. “Now, I have hired a ferryman to take us to Prussia directly. They are to meet us at the shore and will take us back to guild after our task is complete as well. The Curator of the museum will meet us upon arrival and give us a run down of the situation and the building. There we will be free to assess the area and you all may take some time to explore the city or stay near the museum till we are to report back to the Curator and start our guarding at sunset. Of course. I will like a few of us to stay inside the building incase of any fool tries to do anything during the day. If anyone wants to volunteer, Say so. For now let’s get to the shore and make our way to Prussia.” With that the guild went down and boarded the boat, making headway to the other Island.

Alexia was about to tackle the other brother into the ground and proceed to pummel into submission or into unconsciousness, either would've worked but as she was a few feet away she saw the hurry he went to attend his brother and she stopped in her tracks almost tripping. She bites her lip at her annoying humanity and then proceeds to extend her elemental hand using magic to smack the neck of the remaining brother in an attempt to finally knock him out.

If her attempt to incapacitate him did work she would proceed to try and use the communication runes to get a idea of everyone else's situation.

As Alexia Succeeded in bringing down the other twin she and Ravus would stand surrounded by the fallen bodies. Calla heard Alexia from the run but felt it better to walk over there to simply speak face to face. "We're done over here. Had a Blood Witch come for the armor. She's not going anywhere. I can see you guys were busy as well. I'll Bring them to the office and Alexia you get the authorities here." Looking up she could see the sky lightening and that the glass is gone from where it should be. Now she noticed it glittering on the floor. "It's almost dawn so the Curator will come soon for his pride and joy." She rolled her eyes and paired it with a very brief, joking smile. "Roland I'll see you and Genji at the guild. Ravus, Stay with the armor while I move these thieves." There was also that man in the office earlier. He may have walked back out, she felt there were a few to walk out of this guild endeavor but it was alright. The few left managed to do the job.

Calla levitated the bodies off the floor and moved them behind her. "The old one will need a healing spell.." She sighed, not wanting to really help the criminal with his wounds but it would be best for him not to die by the guild's hand. Soon it was obvious that the crying man from before had left, the office door was open despite the spells to keep it close. It didn't matter, he was of no consequence anyways. As the other members hopefully did as they were told she bounded the thieves up and reluctantly healed the human wizard and then the witch from her burns. All this magic didn't make her feel tired out yet but she would have to act like it. "The Gollum.." She remembered her silent guard in the basement. Felling that it was still active she did easily destroyed it from where she was. Granted the distance made it a bit more difficult, but the deed was done. That was every loose end... Except the glass.

Hurrying to a rune to tell some one to fix the dome she came face to face with the curator. "I hope my Armor and Museum is in tip top shape Ms. Rose?"

"The armor is safe and the thieves after it are contained in the office. Authorities should be picking them up now." She informed him. "You may have to replace some glass if we don't fix it right now. Once everything's taken care of we'll collect our reward and return to our guild. Not everyone is as nocturnal as you may like them to be, Dreac." He laughed and walked with her to see what the damage was. When it was all said and done, the three members remaining at the museum saw to the arresting of the thieves and collection the reward. After that they returned to the Guild, dawn had broke at that point.

The new memebers were settling in Calla finished up some of the final paper work and went upstairs to her room. The members would assume she went to rest from the tiring night fighting thieves and she did rest a bit. Though only for an hour or so. She didn’t feel it necessary to let her self sleep for long this time, the lack of rest wouldn’t affect her much anyways. She spent the rest of her ‘slumber’ doing a bit of light reading while Nera curled up into her lap. Though all the while she jotted some notes on what to do after the appropriate amount of time passed. When that time came she stood, Nera jumping off her to sit at the corner of her bed, and went back downstairs.

For a while she was in the office, Using a few spells to send letters and papers to their appropriate destinations and took some moments to eat and spruce up her Guild Hall. It wasn’t long till the guild members approached her to embark on a new quest. It seemed so soon, seriously, it hadn’t been a day but if they insisted. Leading them to the quest book she looked over her shoulder, Genji and Olive were still unaccounted for. Turning back she opened the book and could see the Wolf Guid was already done with a quest and embarking on more. “Seems like the other guild is already ahead. “ she said, less than enthused. After letting them pick and choose a good group of them settled on tackling the kraken problem northward. “I’ll arrange a boat to take you to Ra’Kel. There you’ll meet the Odaires. Ravus, I want you to act as my official Raven representative when you meet the Odaires. “

She looked over at the Elemental then at the others joining the quest, “It will be a long journey, I will be staying here instead of joining you. I have no doubts you all will be fine and bring the rest of the Odaires to Kolan safely. Go ahead and pack for the journey. Send word how ever you can, preferably if any of you know how to teleport objects, send a letter that way of your departure and of your return to Kolan. Do not forget who and what you represent as you travel to Hybrdios. First Kolan, then this guild, me and yourselves as people.” She closed the book and put it back in its place. “Prepare to leave in an hour or so. “

The hour passed, the Fae was able to get some one to take them this soon. “Safe Travels to you all, if there’s an emergency do not hesitate to contact me in any way you can. Though I have full confidence in you all. “ A rare smiled awas paired with her words as they embarked on their journey to Ra’Kel. Hopefully the wills of the Geneisis Sisters will guide them right on this journey. The Fae looked up onto the sky, resisting the instinct to take out her crystal and speak a brief orison on thier behalf.

It felt like so long since she properly gave any thanks to the sisters. She would have to keep herself from doing so a bit longer. Keeping any of her personal worship behind close doors of the future. She did believe in the Fae tales but knew many Fae construed the teaching to further puff up their egos. Memories of her father’s teaching her flew about bit quickly she settled them, walking back into the guild hall. There was no time for reminiscing and old sentiments now. With most of the guild guns she could do a bit of training in peace, with out holding back.

Of course, Alreth was still in the hall. The only one who hadn’t even approached her for a quest at all. Calls wondered for a moment what she was doing this whole time. The girl was Half Fae after all. How much did she know about her own kind? The witch didn’t seem to posses the usuall Fae air about her. Perhaps she should check on her. Perhaps the girl will approach her when she was ready. In the end Calla decided to head to the lower floor of the hall. There she decided to take some of the practice dummies and give them a spark of life to practice with.

They set off, everyone left in the hall. Calla took them long to another quest, to a fae on the coast of the kingdom. She hoped this wouldn't put her identity in jeopardy. It was only one fae after all, and with a cursed doll it seemed. Truthfully Calla didn't think they needed this many people but with only her cat and notes at the hall leaving the young pale man there alone was not a good idea. This would be enough people to keep and eye on him and complete the quest. He wouldn't be able to escape out here on the open seas. Cause trouble yes, but escape to what? The ocean? They would fish him out.

The sea air helped to clear her head, After speaking to the captain, the travel to The fae kingdom coast would harbor some problems. Until word got back to them, the golumns protecting the kingdom would consider them a threat. A Seahawk could only fly so fast. Then, the rest of the guild would be traveling the sea as well, through the water's rumored to be infested with sea beast. Calla stayed up by the captain, watching the crew and her guild mingle around. They were now aboard the Vatil, a regal looking ship and crew. The navy life did not sit well wit Sir Cortil so instead he captains this ship though his standards have not lowered. The crew seem like fine people, trustworthy, the human captain sees to run a tight, orderly ship. Nothing slips past him.

"Alright Everyone." She addressed those on the boat, her voice cutting clear to each of them. "We are heading to the coast of the fae kingdom, but we still have yet to receive the blessing of the coastal guards. Though we won't be reaching the Golumn protectors terribly soon, I do want to inform you of the potential threat in case word never comes. As a guild we may already be granted access, but we shall see. The Fae are distrustful of those beyond their kind. This woman we are aiding will be desperate. Do not. I repeat, DO NOT distraught her. Success in this quest may lead to an opening in the Fae kingdom's cold heart which may lead to something, new and hopefully good for us and all of Nera."

"We are the Raven guild, I know some of you may not feel we are that important in the delicate politics of Nera, but We are and We will set an example and we will not fall like the age of guild's before us. The journey across the water's will be long, please do not bother the crew too much. If you become, deities forbid it, bored, then learn a bit from them, I'm sure extra hands will be more useful to the ship. Any questions?" She looked at her guild, the crew half listening to her. Cortil, a little smug looking, thought her speech was rather perfect.

Henry merely listened in on the conversation and through Valerie, he could hear the Kraken's words. It truly was just a bored child. Still, such destruction it could cause…

That's when an idea dawned him. If this worked out, Captain Anahita was going to owe him for the rest of her naval life. ‘Ask the beast if it wishes to travel with you. It can have someone to talk to and experience waters far beyond what it knows. The oceans are more vast and far deeper than what it could possibly imagine, If these are the only waters it is familiar with. Life's travels has much to offer. So, offer it just that.’

    ‘Be the beast's first friend.’

Roland grinned brightly when Valerie accepted the challenge and he stayed by her side in a show of support. He had his hands behind his back and he was eagerly waiting for the results. However, the next question was something he had not expected.

Henry, however, already had a proposition. “Oh! That could work!” He exclaimed as he clapped his hands together. “After all, if he can travel with you guys, then he wouldn't just constantly be circling around a specific area and he won't be harmed either.” He then crossed his arms. “You have yourself a friend underwater too!” Which was beneficial as well since the beady could sink a ship like it was nothing.

    I I I

“Uhhhhhhhh” Valerie looked at them. “That does sound equally cool and potentially dangerous.” She turned back to the water, asking the kraken if it would like to travel around with them. “It’ll be fun, you’ll get to see so many things and you can help defend us, I heard there was a swarm of siren after this ship before, you could’ve been there to fend them off easily. Plus no one would harm you either, not if we had anything to say about it” She chuckled and smiled as it responded positively.

It gasped at her offer, repeating the word yes over and over to her, swimming around the island excitedly, the waves from it movement rocking the boat. “Heh whoah, this boat is over crowded so you’ll have to be careful.”

“Over-crow-ded?” It asks. Valerie give the members a thumbs up before explaining and talking to the kraken more.

“We are set to sail back in piece” Valerie smiled and Anahita nodded, heading back to the helm and sailing away from the small uncharted isle. The moon shined above, in the water the shadow of the kraken swimming below the ship as Valerie kept up her conversation, working along the other crew members to help the crowd of people on deck.

They reached Ra’kel in the early morning hours, long before the sun would rise. They docked as the Kraken’s handler. The name ‘Czare’ was agreed upon for it. It never really had a title for itself, didn’t need one. But it was glad to be called something by the odd little being on the float- er- boat. It stayed in the deep, keeping watch and exploring the waters around as the people did their business.

Everyone exited the ship, those shipwrecked went to find lodging for the night. The Odiares tuck by the members. “Well you both are welcome to stay with us for the night before returning home. That way I can give you your payment as well before you go. Thank you so much, honestly it’s been an odd trip but I’m glad to see everyone safe.” He smiled, tiredly, at the members.

The exertion and stress of the earlier situation had led to Sask isolating himself in the captain's quarters for entirely different reasons from before. Sometimes, hunger/thirst had nothing to do with whether or not you had just eaten. Sometimes it had to do with how much energy you used that day and how stressed you were.

Blood was equal parts food, drink, and drug to a vampire. At the moment, Henry wanted all three.

So, as not to succumb to his baser instincts, he took to the shadows of the room and did not come out for the duration of the trip until he could confidently say he wasn't going to chomp on the captain or one of the guild members without meaning too.

Even with over 7 centuries, some things never changed.

    I I I

Roland brightened up when Valerie began talking with the kraken and the kraken had agreed to the proposition. He was beyond overjoyed for more reasons than one. It was always great to see that they could all get along one way or another, even if the only one who can really understands was Valerie.

In the downtime, Roland had asked Valerie if he could speak with the kraken and he ended up having fun with the both of them. The beast was a child in behavior but it was still an enjoyable time for him. He helped out, of course.

He was worried about Henry though. He hadn't departed from the quarters and he wasn't talking to them either. Roland thought that he may be asleep but he knew that Henry exerted a lot of magic back then, so maybe there was something wrong? But he left the vampire alone as he knew that it would probably be for the best if he didn't bother Henry.

Once they docked, he turned to the family that they were to escort back home. “Ah, that would be nice but I'll leave that up to Henry. I'm still fine to go back to Kolan, but I'm not sure if he is.” He replied with a shake of his head. He could always just fly him and Henry back to the guild anyway.

    I I I

‘That would be wise.’ The vampire responded to Roland's thoughts, ‘Getting back to Kolan and the guild would at least enable me to get away from our wards. My desire to feed grows with every passing hour.’

Cor’va’s head snapped to the door, her nose flared as she acknowledged the sound. Silently she went to the door and opened it to 3 strangers. The white haired woman spoke first, introducing herself as Calla, leader of the Raven guild and the others as members, Lirletta and Raven, to aid her in her troubles with a doll. “I believe Arleth is already here?” The human asked her.

“Yes, she is, come in.” Cor’va adjusted her glasses squinting slightly at those on her doorstep, Calla bowed her head slightly and swept her braid off her shoulder. Cor’va stepped aside, opening her door more to allow the trio in and close the door behind them. “The doll is in that room.” She pointed to down the hall to the room with the open door and a small ceramic doll sitting on the floor. “Miss Arleth was about to ask me some questions however.” She looked at the member in question to do some questioning.

    III

With the same confidence as she had when she entered the room, Arleth strode from it. Her gloved hands rested casually on her hips, fingertips drumming against the leather of her pants absently. Her steps halted as she caught the sound of the door squeaking open but she reacted with the same calm as Cor’va, merely glancing in the direction of the door before she returned her gaze to the Guilds’ client. There were a series of questions rolling around in her curious mind, one whose attention was not so easily piqued.

As her wine hued lips parted in order to utter one of these questions as she was prompted by Cor’va’s own somewhat nervously asked question, the thought was interrupted by the sound of knocking at that door. Arleth followed her to the door, standing behind and slightly to the side, just out of the view of those on the other side of the door, though she was certain she already knew who had arrived for who else would be making this trip at such an hour?

It seemed her assumption was not incorrect as she heard her name mentioned and once the door had been opened enough, Arleth gave Calla a respectful bow of her head before briefly taking in the sight of those that had traveled with her, “I was… though first I believe that it may be pertinent to address the words of the doll itself, Mistress.” She turned partially towards the room where the doll sat staring at them, and watched it as she spoke, “the doll spoke three words when I was near her, ‘break,’ ‘trap,’ and ‘burn,’ in that order… perhaps something to do with the vines as they seemed to reach out towards Miss Cor’va and I as the doll spoke the words.”

    III

Calla listened silently as Arleth explained. “Break.. Trap..Burn..” She mused and walked around the room, her hand waving around the shadowy experiments in the living space. Never touching them though. Slowly she turned to where Arleth was facing, the door to the doll agape. “Perhaps it is a set of instructions? Break it, trap the remains and burn it?”

“Excuse me but I’ve already tried breaking and burning it.” Cor’va huffed.

Calla turned to the woman, her eyes focused on the other Fae. Cor’va stopped and blinked at her. Calla took a moment to think. “You’re specialty is in shadows? But every Fae has some skills in Flame, it’s part of...you’re biology or something about, goddesses and magic and whatnot.” Calla waved the thought away. It pained her to pretend to be so little informed of her own culture.

“The Connection to the Sisters through the Arcane substances in our blood.” Cor’va corrected her.

    “Esoteric magic you mean.”

“I’m not wasting my time explaining to a human the truths of the world.”

“Then answer me this, how adept are you with fire magic? Perhaps the flames you create are not enough?”

Cor’va opened her mouth and closed it. “Perhaps..” She turned to the doll. “But..why does it need to be trapped...after it’s broken?”Her eyes and Calla’s fell on the doll down the halls. The vines around the doll moving away from it and down the hall at them all.

    III

Raven finally touched ground after days at sea and it felt amazing to feel some solid soil. He lightly scraped the ground with his hooves as he felt the wind magic leave them to get rid of the jelly feeling his wind step spell makes his hooves feel. The magic was solid enough for him to run and jump like on earth but that jelly-like aftertaste on his legs always felt weird when he lands.

As he was enjoying the ground Boss Calla and Proud Lirletta landed closer to the client house than him and make their way to it. Raven just reached their backs as the front opened to Calla and we saw our fae client. We all made our way in as Boss Calla began asking some questions, Raven wave hello at Arleth as he saw her but switch his mind over to the job at hand once. The fae woman did not like the way question fae biology but answered them nevertheless.

Raven instantly attached his train of thought to the client’s past attempts and thought to jump in here. "Excuse me boss, let me ask something. Hello Madam Cor'va. I am Raven and like to know what you have done to the doll before and what you could learn about it physically and magically. Oh and should we be worrying about those growing vines"

    III

“Vines?” Cor’va looked back as the plants krept closer. “Uh, I, couldn’t dispose of it. It has some sort of spell or curse or something. It’s mainly Esoteric. The doll is just clay but apparently it has some powers over these damn plants!” She snapped and flame started to consume the foliage. With the fire dissipated, the plants only to grow back faster. “It’s never done this!”

“Follow its words then. Break it.” Calla said, it was all they had to go on.

    III

“If that’s what you ordered, then I got it, Boss” Once Raven said that he pulled off his bow from his back and notched an arrow from his quiver. “Winds before me, guide this arrow faster than wind” Magic gathered from the air and began to circle in front of his bow like a gate. Raven let loose the arrow and it entered the wind gate only for nothing to appear on the other side of the gate. The speed the wind gate granted the arrow made it harder than normal to see it fly towards the doll’s chest.

    III

The arrow went right through the ceramic, shattering the chest of the doll, it’s head rolling onto the ground it’s limbs dropping as well, cracked. The parts breaking apart. The vines retreated and took root in the ceramic shards and braiding together to form some sort of humanoid shape. It’s whispers were slightly more coherent. “Trap pieces. Get rid of them.” The words came out raspy and pained. The vines whipped around the room unable to stay contained in one shape. The being held its head and fell to its knees, the plants shot out towards Cor’va and wrapped around her. She was dragged toward the thing, scraping at the floor, using shadows to pull her away from it.

    III

Once she had offered up the little information she could, her arms covered in billowy black lace crossed over the chest of her leather armor and she silently watched Calla as the woman walked around the room, her gaze drifting between the Guild Mistress and their client as each spoke. Their exchange eventually coaxing onto her full lips the appearance of a mildly amused smirk.

The pale skin between her dark brows gently creased a moment as she considered the thought of why it should need to be trapped, though her mind had hardly given rise to the thought when Raven spoke up, her iridescent eyes focusing on him for a moment before they shifted towards the aforementioned vines as they steadily made their way towards the group.

Instinctively though without any real intent to act, one of the Half Fae’s gloved hands rose to the hilt of one of her scimitars as Cor’va declared that the vines had never grown back so quickly before once they had been set aflame. The crease in her brow only deepened as Raven launched his arrow towards the doll, the grip of her fingers around her sword only tightening in anticipation of whatever was to come.

It seemed that her preparedness was well warranted on account of the events which occurred following the catalyst that was the Centaur’s arrow. There was no doubt in her mind that the doll was indeed cursed, or perhaps it was a curse on the being which now seemed to simultaneously wish to attack them but aid them at the same time.

The hand that had raised to grip one of the swords crossed at her back now tightened around the hilt as the blade was drawn in reaction to Cor’va being captured by the wild vines, though it was not steel that would meet the untamed greenery so much as an arc of contained flame which was conjured by the Half Fae as she swung her weapon. The fire surged out in a stream along the floor of the house, guided only by the will of Arleth as she aimed to create a blockade between their client and the vines while simultaneously cutting off their attempt to kidnap her. If her cast was successful, the line of fire would soon puff up into a burning veil between all of them and the vines.

    III

Calla snapped to action, after Alrleth gave Cor’va her escape from the vines the guild leader moved to be in front of the scientist. She rose a barrier of flame behind the monster as Arleth kept the one up in front of them. “Lirlette, some draconian flame would be nice to complete the ‘burn’ command now it’s trapped.” She prayed to the sisters this would work. Even she didn’t know if these instructions would destroy this creature or make things worse for them.

“Don’t burn my home down!” Cor’va yelped.

“Ma’am this home has been sealed against flame magically.” That is only standard for a fae home.

“My books and experiments are not flame proof!”

“Your life is more important .” Calla hissed, making her flames hotter as she moved her barrier closer to the creature. It screeched and hiss as its vines shriveled and it kept as far away from the barriers as it could.

    III

“Ehhh?” Lirletta has been watching the way the ‘guild’ has been doing things and has let them take the initiative. Lirlet was slightly put on the spot by Calla asking her to help, but she quickly made her decision. “Aaalright, I’ll help.” Lirlet strode toward the vines and reached her hand out. Magic swirled around and created a circle very quickly in front of the vines. It hovered in front of the vines for a second and eventually imprinted itself onto them, magic threads connected the whole circle together. “Well, as long as there’s enough magic around to burn it, we should be fine.” Suddenly, magic from the surroundings started being sucked into the vines, and the vines eventually started burning bright blue. “Do, you think the doll really wanted to be broken? Or do you think something was sealed in it and wanted to be let out?” Lirlet asked the group. She was really interested in the possibility of sealing magic, as researching it might help her deepen her knowledge of magic.

    III

As the vines burned from Lirlette’s spell the foliage quickly disappeared, the spell stuck to the pieces of the dolls. They clattered on the floor as the pottery cracked and broke off into pieces before becoming dust. Calla added more heat to all the flames till the dust seemed to disappear. The flames turning green growing without any one’s control. A bright light and a force of magic forced the members back and destroyed Cor’va work in her living room. Every shadow gone.

Though instead laid a.. Guy? On the floor. Well mostly a man. Moss covered some of skin, what looked like willow branches sprouted from his head as flowers bloomed here and there on his body. Thankfully he had pants.

“A.. elemental?” Calla said, dispersing all the flames.

“I knew it!” They heard Lirletta behind them

The being opened his eyes and stood abruptly, hands on his chest and feeling down his arms before standing. “It...I.. I’M FREEEEEEEE” He shouted. “For years that prison drove me mad and now.. I can return home! Thank you! I will forever be in your debt.” He spoke to the guild members and then turned to Cor’va. “I…. I don’t know what to say. I assume you did what you had to, I don’t believe my imprisoner has ties to you… it’s been… fi..seven..hundred? years?? My minds.. Fuzzy but. I’m going home or to see what’s left of it.” He said simply and turned to vines once more and they moved past the members and out the door into the wild.

“Well… I guess you did get rid of the doll...and my research.” Cor’va sighed. “I suppose It’s not all bad. I had no idea the thing was a prison for a.. Elemental.” She grimaced. “I will have to speak with the previous owner of this house to see if it came from them. Anyways. I believe this is yours.” Cor’va gave them their pay and Calla a jar of soul dust. “This was my uncle, he would’ve wanted to be put to use by the guilds. He was always upset of their abolishment.”

“Thank you. I am sorry for your loss in both family and your research. We thank you for your payment and are glad to be of assistance.” Calla said simply.

“I will simply just have to re do it all, but better. I will say,” Cor’va lead them to her door adjusting her glasses at them and clearing her throat. Calla could almost grin at the gesture. This would be fun to watch. “That despite your….despite my expectations, you were all very helpful. Especially you miss Arleth.” She turned to the half Fae. “This is a published work of my shadow research.” The fae handed her a book and then shoved them out her door. “Have a good night. I will contact you if I ever need more assistance. Thank you.” She shut her door.

“Well, that was, excellent everyone. That is high praise from a fae. Now let us all head to the ship and head to the guild. This has been a good but tiring trip.” Of course she wasn’t really worn down but it was good to act like it after events like this. “Now I will keep the soul dust in the library. It is very good for powerful spells and potions, and Arleth, that book, may be very useful. Keep hold of it.” Calla said simply, hoping her verbal praise was sufficient. She did smile genuinely, pushing her braid behind her shoulder.

    III

Arleth kept her sword drawn still after the flames had dissipated, regardless of the species of entity they were dealing with, it was hard to tell what alignment the thing could be since a good being would be just as likely to seek aid as an evil one. She made no utterances of revelation as the elemental was revealed and only sheathed her weapon once he spoke as it seemed unlikely it leaned towards a more nefarious nature.

For the time it took for the elemental to exchange words with the others and for Cor’va to offer the reward to Calla, Arleth said nothing and remained still with her arms crossed over her chest as she observed them all before they began to venture towards the door and Cor’va began her somewhat forced show of gratitude.

Only after the Fae offered the book to Arleth did her expression change, “it pleases me that we were able to assist you, though I do apologize for the damage we caused. I wish you good fortune in your future endeavors,” these words were said with a sincere smile and a gracious bow of her head, though once she turned away and exited the residence with the book firmly in hand, there was no sign that the smile had ever been present on her features.

Once the others had been pushed out, Arleth was already standing outside and gave a nod of her head to Calla as she mentioned the book, her iridescent eyes which emitted a faint glow in the dim light of the night were directed down at the book held firmly in one of her hands.

    III

Calla lead them back to their ship. The faint glow from Arleth’s eyes sending a pang of sorrow in her chest. She wished to express herself to her full extent. It would be so much easier than speaking what she felt and using the common human expressions. Though she made a deal with the king and she wanted to keep everyone’s trust. For now this will suffice.

On the journey back she wondered what they’d return too. No doubt her partner’s smiling face and the others that returned from their quest across seas too. There were papers for many others to join, she thought in silence about who else could’ve shown up at her hall’s door step.

For now they traveled across the sea in peace, docking at Niniva and making way to the guild hall.

  • ‘Gods above, this is maddening…

Every heartbeat within the guild's halls could be heard with frightening precision from inside of Henry's room. It was becoming obnoxious, even. He needed to get out. He needed to hunt someone. Before everyone in this damn guild became his personal buffet.

He pulled on his more casual, middle class clothing of a plain grey tunic and trousers, while covering himself in a long black cloak. It was the middle of the night so it was highly unlikely he was going to be detected by anyone other than his dinner.

He cracked open the window in his room and leapt out to the adjacent building. The man barely made a whisper of a sound as it was but he went out barefoot this night. So, the whisper of a sound turned into muted footfalls. Not even a shift in the air came from his landing.

He also needed to get away from the guild, so as not to incriminate them should someone come hollering. Memories needed to be altered as well but this certainly wasn't the first or last time he's hunted in secret. It was like second nature at this point.

The elder vampire moved against the night sky in absolute silence. He used telekinesis to launch himself across rooftops along with a vampire's natural strength. A dark blur against black, moonless sky. He was practically invisible to the naked eye and nigh inaudible.

    ----

Surprisingly enough, the streets were fairly busy this night. Henry had been on the prowl for several hours and couldn't find a good target. Every passing minute his instincts drove him closer and closer to a frenzy and gods forbid if a master psychic elder vampire lost control of himself.

That being said, on his prowl he came across a rather peculiar sight. The guild's second-in-command, the guild master's lover, Genji was also out and about. Henry was quite a ways away from the guild so it certainly wasn't on guild business. Not to mention he was alone and entirely cloaked in black from head to toe. In fact, Henry only recognized him because of his scent and because of that peculiar magic that shielded his mind from being read. The same magic that shielded the guild master, albeit, much weaker.

What had even brought his attention to the elf in the first place was that he was the first person who was a potential target he had seen all night. A straggler taking back streets and dark alleys. Completely alone and isolated.

Why was the elf moving in such a manner? The image of the traitorous first mate on Anahita's ship popped into the vampire's mind and he only barely managed to suppress the instinctual growl that threatened to climb out his lungs.

He sincerely hoped that wasn't the case because explaining that to the guild master was not going to be an easy task.

    ----

Calla laid in her bed, asleep and unaware of the going’s on outside her guild hall. Though her partner was out and about, heading outside a shop that seemed to be closed. Two more cloaked in dark green capes, the hint of corpses wafting from them, corpses and a sickly sweet scent that would be unrecognizable to the vampire. The two separated from the elf. A brief reading of their minds would reveal two facts, a dirty trade had been made with “The Cemetary,” and whatever had been traded was deadly.

Genji kept to the back streets, the sickening scent on him as well now. He was heading back towards the guild, remain unseen to those in the crowd. The other two.. Where they were heading remained unknown to even them. Henry could clearly see it all from where he perched

The vampire continued stalking the elf until he turned a corner. Presumably to take some kind of shortcut. The minds of the people Genji met with told him everything he needed to know. This bastard was doing some shady business and he was going to kill him for it.

    Henry waited…. And waited….

    And waited…

Until the opportunity presented itself and he fired a lance of raw kinetic energy at the lone elf. His body type and the way he carried himself suggested he wasn't heavy and couldn't take a large blow like the one he just had sent towards him. At least, not while he was unaware it was coming.

Sure enough, the telekinetic lance crashed into his left flank and sent him careening off his path. Genji slammed into a brick wall with the sickening sound of flesh being slapped against stone.

Henry had launched himself right after the lance and before the elf man had time to recover, pierced his body. Straight through the gut and into the mortar and brick wall. He had launched a claw tipped, spear hand strike backed with psychic energy for some extra piercing power.

The bastard elf was still too dazed to put up any real defense or even try to evade.

Greetings elf. Nice to catch you out on a midnight stroll like this.” The elder vampire said softly. Soft as his words were, the venom behind them could kill a man.

He coughed up blood, as the second, physical, hit got to him. Looking up to see his attacker Genji could only look in mild shock as that vampire from the guild stood before him. Dazed from the mental attacks all he barely managed to grab at his neck and tear Calla’s crystal off the woven thread. Activating it before it slipped through his bloodied fingers the rock rolled away along the stones below as the elf looked back. “You traitor...” He attempted to play dumb on his own actions. To anyone else, Genji would seem to be the victim, but his voice could barely carry across the alley way, let alone attract attention so far off.

The undead's lips curled back over his teeth to reveal two large, white canines too big for the mouth they sat in. “Oh? Those words certainly fit you more than me.”

The smell of elf's blood pouring out onto the cobbled was absolutely intoxicating. Henry's eyes almost rolled back at the scent by itself, let alone the fact that it was running down his forearm like crimson waterfalls.

That being said, it certainly didn't stop the onslaught that was being unleash upon the barrier around his mind. Certainly, it was strong stuff. Resilient. But ultimately, too weak to hold out for very long. The ancient magic shattered under the psychic bombardment and all of the Male elf's secrets were laid naked and bare.

Henry wasn't slow about it either. He ripped his way through the elf's psyche like a greedy child with presents on their birthday. Genji's eyes rolled back and he began convulsing as his mind was torn asunder for every scrap of detail it contained. Right down to the moment he was was born. It was like scraping the last little drops of soup from a bowl.

    ----

As Henry tore through the elf’s mind he could see every moment, every breath, every stray thought and whisper. The plans he had for tonight, a poison from a rare plant given to him by an old criminal organization. He had plans to take over the guild, slowly as his partner would be unable to run the guild being with a child, he would use the poison to ensure Calla’s death in childbirth. Everyone would be none the wiser and he would have to do so little work for all the praise and glory to come in running the guild on his own and of course raising a child for...reasons dared not be written out.

Reaching through his mind beyond today, through all his days, Henry could see the deceit, the lies, the others back at his home who’s heart strings he taken. The soft words in his partner’s ear, the fuzzy… memories of the guild leader that Henry could not quite make out the details. Something beyond the elf was hidden though intimate moments were surprisingly not as well guarded. Memories of travel, the process of the thoughts once of an innocent adventurer turned to wicked, jealous and possessive plans.

Images of people, deals made, promises broken, a plan long thought out win over the woman and then to use his partner for his own selfish gain. A group of travelers, a blue haired woman accompanied by a towering Orc, the orc was indebted to the woman, then a smiling rouge hobo who came along for the ride, as well as Genji who met the orc and woman while he traveled aside another Vampire. Calla, Vakkar, Rosamond, Ja’kob. A bribe to the hobo, a threat to the orc, a murder of an old best friend all to isolate the blue woman. Lies told to keep her compliant, an idea planted for her to slave over as he went home in peace and revelled in luxury.

Memories of small adventures, good times bad times, his training for the fight of princes, the false entitlement it gave him. All the little memories of his childhood. The elf's every waking moment was there for Henry to soak in until there was nothing left of Genji Shilvo.

Henry reared back and plunged his other arm straight through Genji's chest cavity, piercing through muscle, bone, and organs alike. He was going to make sure no healer could save him. The vampire yanked his now crimson soaked arm back after piercing the elf's heart and then dug his claws into the man's head. He whipped it to the side so hard, that one could hear a vertebrae snap out of place.
A skin crawling hiss left Henry's lips as he finally gave in to his desire and sank his teeth into dead elf's throat and drained whatever blood hadn't spilled out of the gut and chest wounds.

Henry was practically dyed in scarlet colors but he didnt care. If anything, he relished in it. So much so, that he did not hesitate to start tearing the flesh apart, much like he had the mind, with his claws and teeth.

The blood of traitors was one of the finest meals he could ever ask for.

And this man was among one of the worst traitors Henry had ever eaten.

    Delicious…

    ----

She had woken up to a tugging sensation around her neck. Memories and dreams crossing to make her snap awake with a gasp. Her fae crystal pulled at the chain around her neck with a small clink, clink echoing in the room. The woman sat up slowly, calming down somewhat as the brief moment of clarity subsided into tiredness. Who was it calling her…? There was few who had a counterpart to the crystal piece, few alive and less so who dared contact her now.

Opening her eyes more she could see the image of Genji, being attacked, shimmer before her. Her back straightened and any ounce of sleepiness quickly dissipated only to be replaced with the adrelined of panic, fear, and the instinct to save her lover. Waiting a moment she looked for the attackers face only to see the psychic from her guild covered in his blood, ripping her partner apart.

It took a moment for her to shift into her human form incase he caught sight of her image in the air. She stood and kept the magical channel open. Every sound… every splatter of blood.. Calla could barely stomach it as she dressed with a snap of her fingers. Using her unbounded anger and shock to fuel her magic she, in an instant, teleported from her room and appeared down the alleyway. Unable to keep the angry magenta glow from her eyes while the channel between the crystals closed Calla levitated the vampire into the air and slammed him against the wall.

“You have 1 minute to explain, choose your next words carefully.” She barely kept the venom and murderous tone from her voice. Unwilling to explain her presence here or the flickering of blue flame here and there. She was barely able to keep her powers from bursting out from the sea of her emotions. This was why the fae kept them so closely guarded and why one should never piss one off.

Getting slammed into a wall certainly knocked the vampire out of his blood frenzy but it also brought his sense of equality. Henry slammed back against the fae girl with enough telekinetic force to tear the stone beneath their feet out of the earth and across the blood soaked alleyway. “Get off me, woman. I just saved your life.” He growled back with an equal amount of fury in his voice.

The very air hummed and vibrated as the two magical energies clashed and twisted with each other passively. Their very magical auras caused the atmosphere to dance under the strain.

The elder vampire probed and prodded for any weaknesses in the woman's defenses and found she was lacking.

    Except…

While her power radiated like a blacksmith's forge outwardly, the ward around her mind was weakening. She was unstable. He just needed a moment's blunder to pierce through.

Which means he needed to buy time.

She held her ground, pushing back against him with greater force upon hearing his words, more flame erupting around her, as if many explosions were trying to spark and kept on failing. What was left of Genji twitched as little flashes of green light sparked among the gore and flesh. Attempting to knit together into some sort of mass as she stepped closer to the vampire, the force keeping him back pressing onto him further.

Saved me? What kind of sic-“ she could barely finish her words as the sparks became more like loud bursts of roaring flame. The mass of blood and flesh attempting to stand, anything dead buried in the ground or anywhere around would attempt to rise up and move. Calla barely held herself together, fangs bared though they still appeared as human canines, her barrier letting every vicious thought leak out. The woman had let the elf take over her heart and now the vampire was about to pay for ripping her partner apart.

Save her, save her!? She didn’t need saving! Crystal emerged from wall in spikes, barely missing Henry, she tossed him across the alley and ignited the air around him to burn him alive. Her eyes gleaming in the darkness from where she stood.

As he soared through the air, Henry let loose another torrential blast of kinetic energy towards Calla that nearly tore off the rooftops of the houses around them. As it was, tiles were sent flying through the air. Henry hit the ground in a roll and quickly cloaked himself in kinetic energy. The bright flames licked around his barrier and threatened to melt the stone beneath his feet with their oppressive heat but the old undead stood firm. He may not have seen the hellfire coming before but every thought was coming through loud and clear now. This woman was clearly more powerful but if he knew her every move before she made it, he could hold out long enough.

A large psychic wave shoved the flames away from his person and onto the rising corpses immediately around them.

Sask’s own irises were glowing bright crimson against the new moon’s darkness in stark contrast to her magenta hues.

“Yes! Saved you, you daft woman!” With that, Henry launched an assault on her mind. Even if one didn’t have barriers in place, if you were powerful enough, it was difficult to pierce raw power. Especially with the amount this woman was putting out. Still, Henry was no push over and this wasn’t the first time he had fought with an opponent who could overpower him. She had him beat when it came to raw power but he hadn’t met one who can match him in the mental realm. The vampire grit his teeth and pushed against Calla’s raw power, shaping his own psychokinetic will into a fine needle. All he needed was a moment. An instance.

“Your traitorous filth elf lover was going to murder you in cold blood! So much power and you were blind to his intentions! You foolish girl! Ignorant because of love!” He roared over the deafening clash of psychic and arcane energy.

Her eyes shot open as she yelled curses at him in her native tongue. “How dare you! How dare you, you clay blooded scum of the Nera! What sort of twisted mind would make up such accusations just to save his own worthless ass!” Her language was already harsh sounding but in her current tone, it was even more so. It tore up her throat as she yelled at him, her barrier breaking down as she began to press the weight of the world on him psychically to crush him. His attacks making her stumble back, but she refused to be knocked down.

His last words set her off enough to foolishly stormed forward at him, drawing her sword and charging it with an arcane flame, letting her psychics drop from him to focus on simply getting through and striking. She couldn’t keep back a tear or two as she screamed and went to strike the vampire down. Her mess of unintelligible thoughts spilling out from the barrier. The woman hardly kept it together.

The pressure let up and Henry was able to rise from his knees. The opportunity had present itself but….

He didn’t need to specialize in clairvoyance to know this wasn’t going to end well for him. Henry dropped his protective barrier for the simple fact he was going to need all his energy. The flame wreathed blade came arcing down on him and he gave everything he had to direct the blow off its course, while simultaneously pushing that psychic needle deep into her psyche.

He only just managed it. The vampire twisted his body to the side and narrowly avoided the blow. The infernal heat coming off the blade searing the clothes off his body and even burning his skin to a charcoal black. The entire front of his torso and a good portion of his face suffered from the hair’s breadth evasion but it was all he needed.

The needle was in and now she was his.

His psychic power poured into the needle thin opening, forcing her psyche open to his attacks.

However, the vampire did not hollow her out like he did to Genji.

No, instead he used her brain as an information dump and flooded her mind with her late lover’s plans. From the moment he had met her, to his blackmail of their old group, to his plot to impregnate her, poison her during her labor and claim she died from childbirth. The unspeakable things he planned to do to their offspring after he took control of the guild.

Every detail. Every act of subterfuge. Every plot. Laid bare in her mind.

He knew this would end the fight but gods above forbid if she didn’t accept the information….

While her mind was being overloaded with information, the vampire used his functional arm and shot his claws to her neck, embedding them just a few centimeters deep. When she came to, hopefully that would be enough to dissuade her.

    ---

In an instant, her sword had seemed to miss and before she could strike again her body froze as he forced his way through into her psyche. Her sword clattering to the ground as the information poured into her head. All her magic and powers ceasing, the flames extinguishing while Calla fell to her knees. Unaware of Henry’s actions as she processed what she saw.

At first she wanted to lash back at it and deny it was true but as more and more was revealed the pieces fell together. Her soul couldn’t take much more of this. Her friends, he had said they left, the guild, was supposed to be their thing, their work, their accomplishments. Her trust in him all that time, devoted and understanding. Those past moments skewed and became clear in this new light. She didn’t know what to be angry at more, herself for falling for it or him for manipulating her all these years.

Taking up all her time, her energy, her trust and hard work, Insisting he did as much as her, claiming they were in this together despite all odds, Calla wanted to reject it from her head. As she came to the image of a charred Henry stood above her. His face and arm..the smell as well. It was blackened and deformed, with what little control she had left she kept back the wave of magic and flame that wanted to escape her in her agony. She started to feel his claws digging into her neck.

Still feeling unable to think as straight as she stood she simply blinked many times at Henry and his scorched self. Barely holding her human form together as the glow left her eyes, barely keeping back every instinct her heart gave her to lash out. Her mouth opened and closed, what could she say.. what should she say. It was true wasn’t it? Even she wasn’t dense enough to miss it all laid out like that. She felt...simply like a fool. A betrayed and stupid fool.

“Let....go,” was all she could croak out.

The man obliged and removed his claws from her neck. The undead had actually been keeping himself standing by supporting his weight with telekinesis but as the woman rose, he fell. He collapsed without a word or sound. The unharmed half of his face twisted grotesquely in pain. Again, using telekinesis, he dragged himself to the destroyed wall of the building next to them and propped himself up against it. His lungs burned from the still hot air, but he was still able to answer her, “Yes. A stupid fool.” He coughed out, answering her thoughts which were still laid open and bare. “Never lay yourself bare to someone who hasn’t done the same for you.”

He hacked and coughed several times before shakily collecting his demeanor once more, staring down the iridescent woman with one functional crimson glare. He couldn’t help but give a cocky half-smirk and add, “What was that you said about privacy when I joined?”

She stood and upon hearing his last words couldn’t stop herself from swinging her foot right into his charred torso with all her Fae might.

The man practically coughed out a lung but the coughing was soon overtaken by agony filled laughter. He could die right there. They both knew he was right. In the end, that’s all that mattered to him. Who got the last laugh.

She looked down at him. Taking a moment to recollect herself enough for the moment. Her next break down would be properly scheduled in reaction to all this. Calla disliked his point but she still valued her privacy even if Genji keeping his would’ve killed her. If it was only her to be dead in the end that would’ve been fine but a child in the mix, well. Henry did have her there.

Even so, Calla has her own things to hide, her own reasons to go about as she did. Past events far beyond the years with Genji that she would like to keep in the past for good. The woman built her barrier back up enough for the moment then sat down on her knees by the vampire. “I’m not a healer what I do know will be enough to get you to the guild hall.” She said simply.

Working her magic she attempted to heal him as much as she knew how and at the very least cleaned the black charring off. When it was done she stood and looked at the wrecked alley way. She might actually have to recuperate her energy after all this. Within a moment the alley looked as good as new and the mangled remains of the elf, had burned away, never to be seen again.

Looking once more to the vampire she almost wanted to ask how much he managed to know of her, she didn’t hide many things this night. He was smart enough to put two and two together. However, that may be something to leave for the morning, seeing he was nearly burned alive may deter him from blabbing. Then again why trust him.

In the end she just stood there looking at him with an expressionless glare for a bit.

Henry didn’t need to be a mind reader to know what she was looking for. He met her gaze evenly and merely nodded. He may not know everything, but he knew everything Genji knew. Genji knew quite a bit. That combined with the ridiculous power struggle they just had? Well….

He’d be a fool to not know exactly what kinds of beings wielded powers in such a way.

Would you like to see?” He asked, a little less pained than before but struggling not to grunt with every word nonetheless. The man knew she was capable of telepathy. It was only a matter of opening his mind to her.

Her nose flared at his question. “I suppose.” She allowed herself to open such a communication to ‘see.’

To which, he responded in kind, dropping the hundreds of intricately layered mental barriers and laying himself bare to the woman. Something he had not done for the better part of four centuries.

As she peered into his head, he could also see a few things here and there in hers. Though it was obvious she kept as much as she could locked up and away from where he could ‘see.’ What came across her view she wasn’t so prepared for.

A lifetime within lifetimes. Centuries upon centuries of memories, what her head might’ve looked like if the lapse had never happened. She could see it all, her mind walking through each memory, the good, the bad, the horrid. Everyone had their dark and disturbing past didn’t they? Though she understood what he was trying to tell her.

Didn’t mean she wanted him to have all her secrets though. Even if they were safe. At least, for now, she felt more at ease about what knowledge he did possess. Retreating from the entirety of Henry’s mind she adjusted her cloak. “Well. We’re at some sort of agreement I suppose. Can you stand at all?”

No. But I’ll manage.” He lifted himself with psychic magic and managed to gain some kind of footing. “I just need blood. My wounds and power will come back but that fight and my injuries took everything out of me. It’s going to take a lot of it….”

She nodded, and looked out past the alley way to those in the street. Surprised no one had come to investigate their fight Calla reached out to see who among the crowd would get this job done the quickest. Ah perfect. A trio of shifters were simply floated to them by Calla, they were unable to move and unable to be seen by those on the streets. Her sense of morality had dwindled to the default her kind was taught. They were only shifters after all. The exhaustion of these events whittled away her capacity to care as much she usually did though at the least this trio of men who were about to pounce upon another and drag them off the street. The town would be better off without them.

That should be enough for now.” She said simply.

Henry’s pupils dilated at the food that was brought to him and his fangs elongated once more. “Yes, that will tide me over for now. At least, enough to function normally until tomorrow.”

Without wasting any time, Henry telekinetically dragged himself over to the prey suspended in the air before them.

    ……......

    .......

Thank you for the meal, Guild Master.” He growled ravenously.

She simply nodded and burned up the dead shifters till only scorched skeletons remained. In a instant they were gone to whatever closet the guild master would keep them in. “It’s the least I will do.” As her sentence ended they found themselves back at the guild hall. With out another word she simply went back into her room. Her door closing without a sound.

After the meeting she dawdled a bit as the others left, pretending to comb tangles out of her tail, then went up to the guild master, pledging that she was going to do her best on this quest together with the others so that afterwards Calla won't have any problems. She hesitated, and then encouragingly added, "May your ancestors watch over you, Calla!", before bowing respectfully, stealing a glance at the undead cat, and then going off to the docks.

She was pleased to learn that Helios was going to be with them in the quest and waited for him and the rest of her guild mates by their ship, her backpack on the ground beside her, and chatting up the captain who was to charter them to their destination and learning the names of the crew.

The air was salty and overhead seagulls cawed. Clouds lazily passed by on a stiff easterly wind, as the waves of the sea lapped the bottom of the barnacle encrusted ship. Tanned-skinned sailors moving about crates and supplies grunted their heave-ho's under the flapping of the white-washed sails. Parfa told the captain that she hoped the weather stays this good in their journey, as the breeze picked up and sent her embroidered garbs and green cloak bellowing about, and ruffled her braided mane.
Calla gave Parfa a small smile before they headed off. "Remember, you are representing our guild out there all of you. Be sure to leave a good impression and be careful. These draconian beings may be hostile, be smart not strong. Though, between all of you I doubt they could take you on. " The guild master chuckled a bit. "Good luck all of you, Miss Arleth," she paused "shall leave you as the leader of this endeavor." Calla was unsure about them all going with out her but most of her members were relatively new. At least Arleth had been out on a quest before. Once they set off with their journey Calla went on to Roland and Henry. Well it seemed to be just Roland now.

"Well when Mr. Sask joins you I believe you two will be set to go." She approached Roland. "You'll be traveling to the cost of Dracoviran, the dragons and Dreac should not bother you but be wary, they do keep watch of their lands. They should already get my letter about our guild affairs happening over there. If anything happens I'm sure you'll find a way to contact me." She had yet to think up of an easy way for that. It was the last thing on her mind this morning. Everyone would be fine.

    Everyone will be fine.

    III

Raven sets off on his journey to Tbjornar, being sent on his way by Calla. She arranged a smaller vessel already on route to the dwarven kingdom for Raven to travel on. “Remember, you are representing our guild out there Raven. I trust you will leave a good ring to our name out on your own. Dwarves are crafty to say the least, and secretive. By allowing you to enter their mountains they are openly making way to a more open domain.” She paused. “Just don’t look for things that will give them a reason to keep you there. I’ve been told you will not go deep into the mountains, but still beware for Imps.” She paused again and thought for a moment. “Be careful with those spirits. They spread word quickly among their own. Do not let this guild be a targeted haunting ground.” With that, she let him go. Looking a tab tired this day but still putting an effort to be helpful and polite.

    III

“Yes boss, I’ll try my best to keep the honor of the Guild and not earn any ire while doing so. Just a few question before I depart. What are Dwarven cultures that i should be aware of? Also you should rest more Boss, humans require more rest than most of your race think they need.” Raven spoke as he double checked his gear and provisions for the trip. He equipped his sword and bow for the boat but packed his axe for the caves and forest he will be passing.

    III

Calla almost chuckled at his remark. What he said was true, though she must truly be exhausted if others would buy it as a human trait. The guild master took a moment to think. “ There are many types of dwarves in Tbjornar and they are very separated from each other despite being in one unified state. Be careful with what you say, as a Chimera some may resent you, I would say very little to goblins and hobgoblins in front of others. Though you should mostly be in contact with this shop owner, most other dwarfs dwell deeper in the caverns. Do not be late, do not look bored. Lastly, do not stray from the main paths in the mountains.” Calla gave him her warnings and hoped he’d abide by them. The last thing she needed was to go looking for a centaur lost in a maze of tunnels. “And I’ll do my best to get rest Raven. Thanks and good luck.”

    III

Raven nodded at the information taking it all in though it reveals how little Raven has remembered his lesson on the world as a whole. “Thank you very much boss, but just one more question. Why are Chimeras not looked upon positively? I feel my naivety is getting the best of me. And worry not about me getting lost in the caves, I have learn a earth spell to help give be a general layout of my surroundings though that would not really help I get too deep before I notice haha. Also I do not remember Gobins that live near other races being too hostile. I thought that Orcs were the more volatile race?” Raven asked with a slightly confused face as he tries to search his memories for his Social Studies.

    III

“You are higher on the spectrum than the dwarves. Some may feel you look down upon them… metaphorically. They take their on internal classes to heart and more so the hekkaspectrum. Many dwarves have this concept of purity among them and a chimera challenges that. I’m confident though you will not cause much trouble through those means. As far as orcs, their volatile nature stems from their beliefs, though many are not quite like that. Is there anything else you’d like to know before heading on your way? If you are in need of assistance a simple teleportation spell should bring your message right to me.” Calla explained, glad he asked a few questions. At least know she knew more of the extent of his knowledge. Though, she should come up with a better way to contact them all in case of emergencies.

    III

“Mmmmm Weird. I thought the crafting culture of dwarves would lend themselves to like being lower on the scale and have greater access to exoteric magics to enchant their wares. That is how the few dwarves in my town did their work. Purity is such a odd concept to me though. It really hard to imagine why one would think purity is all one needs. Also I understand not all Orcs are mindlessly violent like how all Chimera are not open minded to mixed villages but ones cultures make races lean in predictable ways. Is that closed-minded of me? Also I do not know how teleportation spell work. I have a whisper spell that sends my voice into the winds to others but crossing countries is new.” Raven feeling happier with his new info but more question just raise to the surface. He notes to himself to learn more at the guild library when he can.

    III

Calla pondered his words. “Oh. Hm.. Just a moment.” She headed back into the hall and came back with a piece of parchement. “Its enchanted to write using your thoughts. Its old paper and I have few sheets but it will work and it will show up on the parchment pair. I had a relative give these to me a long time ago. They were for sending love letter but for this purpose it will be much more useful.” he handed the paper to him. “I suppose the close mindedness is an answer you’ll have to figure out. I see no qualms with it but that is my own opinion” She stated simply. “You should hurry the captain doesn’t want to wait long. Like I said, don’t be late.”

    III

Raven was confused for a second before he turned to the timepiece the guild has displayed in the hall. He gasped at the time and quickly shuffled back and forth to load his saddlebags and tighten the straps. “Right Boss. Thanks for the letters, I’ll use them for emergency or when the time comes. I guess I’ll have to figure somethings out on my own! Bye Boss, Rest well!” After that, Raven ran out the Guild Hall to the docks.

    III

She wished she thought of the paper before sending everyone else off. Maybe next time.

After Calla had finished her farewells to the others leaving on their own journeys she went back to Pyotr. She was told UVB would stay behind, Naria would keep an eye on him. The cat kept out of the rooms mostly out of courtesy but this time she would slip in while UVB stayed behind. There was little the feline could do to stop anything terrible from happening but it could warn Calla in its own way. No matter where the fae was.

“Alright Mr. Abakumov,” She did her best to pronounce the name. “We will be heading to the capital Island of Kolan. I’ve arranged for us a small vessel to ferry us there. Follow me to the dock. It’s our turn to depart.”

The Sky is the Limit END
  • The vampire offered a small smile, what he could muster, and shook his head, "No, Captain that will not be necessary. You know what I am. I will heal in time. Besides, today's quest is nothing too taxing."

He limped up towards her and put a hand on her shoulder, "Thank you for the concern. Has the beastie been playing nice."

"Well," the captain started, the look of worry never really leaving her expression, "if you're sure." Her emotions quickly turned to pride and joy at the mention of the adolescent kraken that roamed the waters nearby, "That little monster has probably been one of the better things I have ever picked up! He scouts ahead and helps us avoid any dangers on top of acting like a damn bug repellent towards all other creatures. Like those sirens you helped us chase off."

The blue woman nodded with a toothy grin and got back to barking orders at her men to get everything ready to cast off, letting the adventurers get settled in as they pleased.

'Roland. I'm afraid you're going to need to handle most of the talking this time around. Like I said, people don't take kindly to my type. That wasn't a lie. What was a lie, is that some random townsfolk were able to get the drop on me.'

Roland laughed as he hopped onto the boat. “Well guild affairs are all over the world after all Captain!” He then gave her a salute but that was just because he wanted to and then he looked around - as if studying the rest of the crew. So she kept the ones she picked up. That was nice. That meant they were more trustworthy.

“All ready to sail at your mark Captain!” Roland called out as he sat down on the rails, managing to maintain a proper balance. Back at sea again, Roland was really looking forward to it~

"As am I." The vampire called out.

With that, Anahita had gone off and began barking orders at her new crew and Roland watched her, waiting if she wanted him to do anything too. So far, there was none. That was when he began hearing Henry.

“I mean sure. You’re not really a nice guy Henry, I think even if you weren’t a vampire, people get put off by you.” As blunt as always but that’s just Roland. “But what do you mean you weren’t attacked by random townsfolk? I mean I get that they’re pretty damn powerful if you’re that injured.”

'Sadly a consequence of being centuries old is you tend to turn out that way. But I was referring to the fact that I can't hide my eye color from people's minds.' He replied before continuing, 'Yeah. Try the damned guild leader of Raven.'

That was going to need context…. But if anyone deserved the truth… well most of the truth… it was going to be Roland.

“Okay, that’s fair. You know the new guys got scared by you. And I don’t think it’s because you’re a vampire. But yeah, that’s okay. You should be careful though.” Roland began to look around, beginning to sway in position as the ship began to move. He looked out to the water to hopefully catch sight of the kraken but it was too far away scouting for him to see.

So when Henry had dropped the person who had injured him, Roland was caught off guard. So much so that he almost fell overboard. He had managed to latch himself onto the railing though but he looked very much alarmed. “Wait, wait, wait! You mean you fought with Miss Calla? Our guildmaster? Henry why would you do that?” He sounded more worried than angry. “Miss Calla doesn’t seem like the type to fight just because you’re a vampire. And, and you don’t seem like the type to fight without reason…”

'Because I went out during the night to hunt for food. The trip had taken a lot out of me. Mentally speaking. While I was out there guess who I found plotting and conspiring against our fair guild leader?'

Roland was tense with expectation. He tried to wrack his brain for whoever this mysterious traitor was who wanted to put down the guild so early in their conception. “Who?”

'Our honorable co-leader. The elf. I found him doing some strange back alley deal with people that smelled like a cemetery. So, I jumped him, shredded his mental barriers and dove into his psyche. Turns out, he was planning to use the love Guildmaster Calla felt for him as her downfall. Impregnate her and during the birth, at her weakest, kill her and claim it as death by childbirth. Then take the guild for himself.'

Obviously Henry was leaving out a lot of details but he didn't need to divulge the woman's past either. What happened to her comrades was something that should be kept quiet until she felt otherwise. 'So I killed him. Ripped him to pieces. Drained him dry. Apparently, Calla had some sort of enchantment to tell her when he was in danger and came to that scene. We fought… and I won. Despite how we both turned out in the end. When I finally forced my way through her defenses, I showed her everything the elf had been plotting.'

The vampire then chuckled and the sound echoed throughout their linked minds, 'We nearly destroyed a section of the town with our little skirmish.'

It was obvious that Roland was not taking it very well. He was already shaking. It had always been obvious that Roland followed the culture of his people - and so when he entered the guild, he would always treat them as his family. Betrayals was the one thing you cannot do for Roland. He would never forgive anyone who betrays family. So hearing about this was enough to switch the trigger.

Too bad the Genji was already dead. Well, perhaps it was fortunate for that twisted elf that he already was.

There was silence in his line of communication but thoughts of vengeance was leaking out of him. Most of them had involved leaving Genji hanging somewhere with no chance of escape. Nothing was worse than slowly dying after all. Or publicly embarrassing him before killing him. After a while though, the thoughts stopped, and so did Roland’s shaking.

“He’s dead now though right?” He said as if for confirmation though he already knew the answer to that. “No wonder MIss Calla looked tired early this morning! I should ask her if she needs any help once we get back. Something like that isn’t an easy thing to move on from. She loved him and yet… he deserved whatever you did to him Henry.” Roland looked down at his hands and noticed that he was fidgeting. “I hope you and MIss Calla aren’t on bad terms anymore.”

“Maybe I should force the two of you to take it easy for a while.”
He mused. He then shook his head. “So that magical surge was from you two? You woke me up in the middle of the night. You should have told me Henry, I would have liked a smack or two for myself.”

That sent the older man into a laughing fit that had the sailors turning to openly stare at what the hell was going on. They eventually just shook their heads and ignored it, remembering that Henry was a psychic and someone probably said something crazy in their heads.

'Forgive me! I was a bit preoccupied on not getting turned to ashes! I'll be sure to remember you may want to get your licks in for the next time I find a traitor in our ranks.'

On the next note, Henry settled down some, 'I would say to leave her be on the matter, Roland. But as for your question, I wouldn't say we were on good terms. Then again, we never really were. So, things are as they usually were. I'd say.'

Roland couldn’t help the small grin on his face as he saw Henry laughing by himself. So, he was feeling a bit more relaxed and that was good. It was meant to be a joke after all, for the sake of Henry calming down and more relaxed. “You better remember that~”

He let out a small whine. “Fine. But still, I told her to rest up because even if I don’t know the circumstances, I can see that she’s tired.” He then leaned back. “Okay then. Maybe we should go on the next quest with Miss Calla. Maybe that’ll do you two some good.”

'Mmm…. Not sure about that one.'

People that were centuries old had a nasty habit of holding grudges.

    -------------

The trip felt nowhere near as long as their last expedition by sea and with favorable winds, they made it to their location earlier than they ever could have anticipated. There were no siren incidents either and they were able to avoid any hidden dangers in the deep waters thanks to the Kraken sentry they had swimming around their perimeter.

The adventurer duo spent most of their time on the boat either idling about or helping the crew in whatever ways they could.

Once they touched shore, Henry and Roland double checked the details of their quest. It stated that client was waiting near the cliff by the docks. They both looked eastward and sure enough, at the top of the perilous cliff, there was some sort of mechanical contraption that lay motionless and a person working on it.

'That must be our client.' The psychic mused between the established mental link.

Roland looked up when Henry had mentioned that he saw the client. Well, the quest did say that he would be waiting at the cliff so surely that was their client. He let out a hum. “Must be. Come on, let’s walk.” He gave the vampire a grin as he began walking towards the client. Of course, he could just shift but he’d like to get some exercise in his human form while he still can.

The pair hiked their way to the top of the cliff and upon a closer viewing, one could tell that the metal….thing was strangely bird-like. It was very intricate and even at a glance, one could tell it was complex. In the center, where the bird's torso would be, there was a series of leather harnesses and belts. As if to strap something down on the inside. The assumed creator and client was too distracted in his tinkering that he did not notice the shapeshifter and vampire's approach.

The undead cleared his throat and still, nothing. It took an irritated psychic shove that knocked the tinkerer on his ass and caused him to look around for the source, "Who the he-"

'Finally…' the vampire thought with exasperation.

Roland shook his head. “That isn’t very nice Henry.” That seemed to be a throwaway comment as he soon turned to the man that was now starting to get up from his position, grumbling something under his breath. “Hello there, we’re from the Raven Guild and we accepted your quest.” He bent down and extended a hand to the man.

He narrowed his eyes at them before huffing but still took the extended hand. “You guys are pretty rude aren’t you?”

Roland merely shrugged as he pulled him up. “We got off to a rough start but let’s start over. I’m Roland and that’s Henry.” He gestured to the vampire beside him.

'What's rude is that he completely ignored us. Arrogant little…'

“I’m Falguerra.” He introduced himself as he dusted himself off and then looked towards the incomplete contraption that was lying near the cliffside. “I’m trying to make something to allow even normal people to fly. You don’t need to be magic user to be able to taste the sky!” He puffed out his chest and placed both hands on his hips, pride oozing out of his every being.

“Sounds like a sales pitch.” The shifter idly said as he began walking to the contraption. “So does it work?”

“Well… it doesn’t work yet. But with your help I will finish it!” Falguerra announced but he seemed a bit disheartened. Before Roland could notice it, he was back to his usual pep. “Anyway, anyway, here’s a list of items that I need. I already made the order at the town so you can just pick it up.”

He took the paper and scanned it. “Alright. Anything else?”

“Nah. I’m good. You can help more later.” With that, Falguerra had turned back to his contraption and began working on it again.

“Well, do you think it’ll work Henry?” He questioned through the mental link as he began walking towards the town. He had questions about how it will work but that can be reserved for later.

'I saw the plans in his head. Everything looked sound and stable. So, in theory, under the right conditions, it should work quite flawlessly. The design is primitive but functional. I imagine it could actually become popularized in the future if he succeeds.’ Though, the vampire had his doubts on that front. The tinkerer was a bit too zealous and proud. It wouldn't be surprising if he overlooked something in his fervor.

“It’ll be interesting if he does make it work.” Roland mused in his head. He just hoped nothing bad would happen while they were doing this quest. It sounded easy enough - a little downtime you know?

The duo's quest was as simple as that. Gather materials that the contact had already ordered and have it delivered. Then just stand around and help out wherever needed. This was quite possibly going to be one of the easiest quests that had ever been on.

    Or so they thought…

Henry's heightened sense of hearing let him catch whispers between people from a fair distance away. If there ever came a time his psychic abilities were stripped away from him for whatever reason. Considering he was conserving himself, that was what he was relying on.

The townspeople were kind enough and Henry kept his head down so the cloak covered his eyes while Roland did all the talking. All the while, there were whispers of discontent among the crowd that grew into mutterings which grew into open conversations. Something nearby was causing the people to become restless and judging from the conversation, it was some kind of bandit group.

From what he could pick up, this particular group had been harassing the town for quite some time now and had apparently chosen today of all days to come and raid the place for not paying tribute.

'Bandits. They are going to raid this place.' The elder said mentally as they approached.

“Of course something bad happens.” Roland thought helplessly, an exasperated smile on his face. He couldn’t tell what would happen with only two of them but they were just bandits so it would be simple enough.

Once they pushed passed the crowd, 12 bandits on horseback with swords and bows drawn were yelling obscenities and knocking over trade stalls. They hadn't hurt anyone yet but they were growing in courage every second the townspeople did nothing to resist other than cower.

'Roland… can you do me a favor and just shoot to incapacitate. Not kill. I'm still quite hungry after my little tango with the Guildmaster.'

“Hm, I’ll try my best. Stay here.”

Roland disappeared back into the crowd and a second later, a raven was flying out of the crowd and landed onto the roof. He shifted back to his human form and ducked down so that he would not be seen by the bandits. Twelve of them were all on horseback with four of them wielding bows.

He knocked back an arrow and released and the one closest to the crowds was hit on the shoulder and fell off his horse. The bandits began to rally, trying to find who was the culprit and Roland released more arrows, raining them with arrows and accurately hitting most of them at non-lethal areas.

It was….. comical how easily the situation was resolved. 12 bandits came to start killing, raping, and pillaging. 12 arrows came down upon them from a shapeshifter they had no idea was around. It took about 43 seconds for the entire "problem" to be dealt with. If Henry wasn't so hungry, he might have actually been cackling. Instead, the tantalizing scent of fresh blood filled his nostrils and his canines elongated without his command, morphing into vicious fangs. The vampire pushed through the crowd and made sure to keep his hood down so no one would notice. "Raven guild has handled these vagrants and we will deliver them to the proper authorities so they can pay for their crimes!" He called out to the townspeople with an authoritative voice.

Henry gestured for the shapeshifter to come down and help tie up the wounded bandits who were groaning on the ground. Every second that passed by, the instinct to feed grew stronger. The beast within stirring at the resistance he put up.

The pair tied up the miscreants with rope provided from a nearby stall and began hauling them off to what the townspeople assumed was their just desserts.

What they didn't know was that the pair just took them far enough out of sight and off the main road to mercilessly slaughter them. Each one tasted mediocre but damn, if it wasn't filling and satisfying. Henry would be lying if he said that it didn't hit the spot. Both his eyes were fully open now and the limp was completely gone.

"Ah….. that's much better." He sighed with a face covered in fresh blood. They all lay dead and drained at his feet but the vampire didn't hesitate to decapitate each corpse via brute force and tearing their heads off under the pretense of possible reanimation. He didn't need any thralls coming back and roaming around.

Roland was bouncing on the balls of his feet as he waited for Henry to finish feeding on the bandits. They were out of the way and out of sight so no one would really notice what was happening. He made a point to not watch Henry as he fed, mainly because Roland didn’t want to intrude to something like that.

When he heard the ripping of heads, he turned to Henry finishing. “That sounded disgusting. Let’s clean up.” Of course, Roland had his reservations with feeding on other people but that was how vampires survive and he honestly couldn’t do anything about that so he simply shrugged it off.

After cleaning up, the pair returned to the craftsman who was still hard at work, with the requested supplies. Henry's mood had brightened even more so and he was all smiles when they came back.

Falguerra was sitting down on the ground with various papers surrounding him, a puzzled look on his face as he tried to study his own scribbles. He looked up when he heard footsteps and his face brightened when he saw that the two had returned with the necessary supplies. “Welcome back!” Understandably, he was naive to the fact that something had happened in their supply run. “Just put the stuff there.” He gestured to the incomplete contraption.

“Will do.” Roland replied as he carried over what they had collected and gently placed them on the ground. Falguerra was by his side in a second.

“Did something good happen?” Falguerra asked as he gestured his head towards Henry who seemed peppier.

The shifter laughed. “Yeah you can say that.” He placed both hands to his hips. “So, how can we help?”

“Just pass me the materials. I got most of it done anyway. Just some basic things really and-” Falguerra droned on about his mechanical contraption as he began walking towards it and telling Roland to grab something from the pile of supplies that they had carried over. Soon enough, Falguerra had fallen quiet as well aside from the occasional call to order something.

It took half of the day to finish the contraption, Falguerra laughing in triumph as his machine was complete.

“That took a while!” He said happily as he turned to the vampire and the shifter with a big grin on his face.

“It did.” Roland agreed, only having a sandwich during a break given to him for a while. It wasn’t a trip through the torrential sea towards Hybridios where they had to deal with sirens and a playful kraken - but it was exhausting in another way. He wasn’t sure if it was his lack of proper rest or if it was because Falguerra didn’t like taking breaks. “So, does it work?”

The human shrugged. “One way to find out really.” He hopped onto the cockpit - as he called it, Roland thought it was just a normal seat - and began to pull something in the contraption. Soon enough, a rumble coming from the plane and then a puff of smoke came out. “Yes!”

Then the rumble died down until there was no sound to be heard.

“Wait, wait, no!” Falguerra grumbled as he began pulling frantically again. “Ah stupid machine!” He hit the contraption and it suddenly rumbled to life again. He let out a startled - “Oh.” - before looking back to the two helpers. “I mean, that was part of the plan!”

Roland laughed. “Yeah. Sure. So, you said you can fly with that?”

“Yeah. Yeah, just a minute as I…” He trailed off as he began flicking a few more buttons and pulling a few more levers and the machine roared valiantly before beginning to inch forward. The metal rotors behind it spinning mercilessly and Roland wondered how easily something could get caught in that and ultimately get sliced. “Okay, it’s moving.” Falguerra said loudly, the roar of the machine making it hard to hear him.

The machine sped up slowly - heading towards the cliff. Roland moved forward to the cliffside but out of the reach of the contraption and its “wings”. Falguerra seemed to hit something and it began to get speed faster. It was coming closer to the cliffside and it soon ran out of ground.

Henry closed his to briefly use some minor clairvoyance to see into the immediate future and what he saw brought a full toothy grin to his face. 'Roland. Watch this. It's going to be amazing.'

Roland spared a glance towards Howard, head cocked to the side. “What do you mean?” He asked before looking back to the machine as it rumbled and rode forward.

The contraption launched off the edge and its large mechanical wings started to work! He achieved flight without the assistance of magic!

    For all of five seconds.

The machine stalled much like it had before when he tried to start it up initially and the man in the bird suit plummeted to the rocks below. His screams of primal terror got further and further away only to be drowned out by the elder vampire's laughter… which was then overtaken by the resound crash of the tinkerer meeting his doom at the base of the cliff.

Henry had fallen to his knees, chest heaving with laughter and tears streaming down his face before eventually being able to sputter out, "It's… even… funnier the second time…. Oh gods… hahahaha!!!"

Roland frankly seemed shocked. When the machine had failed to restart, it was already midway down the cliff but Roland had made a point to run forward and jump off as well - shifting into a griffin with little difficulty. He flattened the wings to his side as he dove down with the goal of getting to the man before he crashed.

But it was far too late and he flapped his wings to slow his descent as he landed. Roland huffed as he scratched the ground with his claws. The machine was destroyed completely and so was Falguerra’s body. There was nothing he could actually get out from that to bury. It would be better to just bury the entire contraption. With that thought, he headed back up to see that the vampire was still busting a gut laughing.

He shifted to his human form again and rubbed the back of his head. “You could have given me more of a heads up.” He pointed out. “I could have gotten him out of that death trap in time.” Roland continued to say as he ran a hand through his hair. He was obviously too used to death to be bothered by what had happened. “What will Miss Calla say when we come back and say that the guy died!”

And they didn’t even have their payment!

"Payment is in the satchel he left there and as for Calla… Well Roland, our mission was to get him the supplies and assist him with building. Nothing in the quest did it say that we had to save him from himself. For all anyone cares, we completed the task fully."

Henry opened the satchel with his mind and fetched the coin purse that contained their pay, passing it to Roland, "That being said, all the plans for the contraption are still in the satchel and written down extensively. We just have to send this to that human's employer along with a letter describing what happened and that will be that. Easiest quest we'll ever have I think!"

Roland looked over to the satchel. “Ah, that so?” The shifter seemed to feel more at ease and Henry’s continued reassurances seemed to appease him enough. He was still ashamed that he couldn’t rescue the tinkerer but he guessed there were times where things just don’t line up for them. “And I guess you have a point.” Technically, it would be stretching the contract but Henry only said the truth.

He accepted the coin purse and stashed it inside his vest and peeked inside where all the papers were. “Yeah. We just took down a bunch of bandits and helped make a death trap. Very easy.” Roland said with a small shrug. “Let’s send it once we get back yeah? I think Anahita would be ready to leave too, so let’s go~”

Taking the satchel from Henry, they began their way back to the ship. Finding Anahita at the bar was easy and collecting the crew was relatively easier than Roland had originally expected. Despite being inebriated, everyone had functioned relatively well and they were soon sailing back to their port.

As the members conversed with those aboard the captain started to relay orders to the crew. They were coming up on Shnardlepuff, it was a smaller island close to Niniva. It’s single village didn’t hold much and most people were fishermen and farmers. “Won’t be long now, within the hour we’ll be ashore.” One of the crew told the passengers.

“Heard there’s been somebody tearing up the village there too,” said another.

“Yeah, somethings always tearing up a village with you Icia” They rolled their eyes. “Guess that’s where the guild members are heading aren’t they? Captain said we let em off here with some of the orders for the villagers.”

“Maybe they’ll be the ones to fix it then?” They continued talking as they went about their duties.

    III

A steady eye remained on Parfa for a moment even after she answered the Half Fae's query before her gaze then shifted to Helios, giving him the same once over with her eyes as he approached as she had given the Chimera. She quirked a single sleek black brow at his question before she turned her gaze back out from the ship and focused on the point of land they were approaching, her chin was placed lightly in her hand and her elbow pressed against the railing as her arm supported her head, her other arm laying along the wood beside it. Tzeentch had been leaning forward slightly on her shoulder his posture a bit unsteady as he paid the two guild members much more mind than his mistress, his head tilting to the side curiously at the two and raising a bit at Helios' question.

"Tzeentch? Would you mind donating a feather to our comrade?" Arleth questioned the bird himself but made no effort to fetch a feather from him. Tzeentch leaned back on her shoulder slightly for a moment before leaning forward and releasing a loud Caw at Helios, his talon raising from Arleth's shoulder a few times and clawing at the leather of her armor. Arleth sighed, "he's angry that you didn't ask him," she then added, shifting her hand from where it held her chin to the birds back, stroking his feathers lightly. Tzeentch straightened up and pressed his breast out, rumbling a few more indignant caws before he ruffled up his feathers and began to preen, eventually retrieving a loose contour feather and holding it in his beak as he leaned towards Helios, looking at him steadily and cawing lowly in annoyance. Once Helios accepted the feather, he would release a louder caw before moving over to Arleth's other shoulder.

    III

Helios waited patiently, making his own observations about the silent lady and her bird friend. Once he got a response however, his eyes widened in surprise. Blinking owlishly as the Raven cawed in his annoyance.

“Oh! I’m sorry. I didn’t consider that you’d understand me. My mistake, T-Tzeentch.” He tested out the pronunciation of the raven’s name, not wanting to offend the bird anymore then he has already. “Thank you very much.”

After being cawed at again, louder this time, the Draec healer tilted his head. Not so much looking at the precious feather in his hands as he was gazing at the Raven. Then the corners of his lips quirked into an appreciative smile.

“This is random, but your feathers are very shiny like an opaque obsidian stone.” It was true. The sheen of the bird’s feathers reminded Helios of the dark stones that were found in his homelands’ volcanoes. Somehow, a few Draecs found a way to harvest these precious stones and transform them into jewelry or a protective charm for those who are more into Magic.

“Pardon and thank you again, Tzeentch.” A gentle nod and a bright smile at Parfa and he made his way back to the sick child. Already taking out the small clay mortar and pestle out of his travel bag. Not minding the folks who were around watching him work as he sat down on the floor again. “Okay, this should be quick to mix.”

As he proceeded to peel the soft strands of the feather into the bowl with nimble fingers and grinding in the other two herbs needed for this medicine; Helios’ mind raced. He noticed how neither Arleth or Tzeentch asked why he wanted a feather. Though the raise of her brow definitely made him think she was slightly curious. Either way, he appreciated that she nor her friend had asked why. Not that what he was about to make was a secret, he just appreciated that they trusted him enough to not cause trouble.

Or they didn’t care. Which is fine with him too.

Another thing that caught his mind was what he overheard between the sailors. Fix it? Something needed to be fixed other than the citizens’ houses (maybe)? He thought this mission was to stop a Dragon and a Draec from destroying anymore property and find out why they are even fighting in the first place.

“There we go. Make sure you eat this after a meal, one small spoonful a day. You’ll feel better after a week. Promise.” He quietly muttered to the boy, pouring the now mushy green paste in a toughened glass fairy jar and covered it with a cork. Then he raised an open hand towards the kids, chuckling as they gawked at the sudden appearance of a blooming blossom that’s on top of an orange. “This should be enough for your stomach to handle.” He told the sick boy and patted his head once he took the offered orange.

Parfa chuckled at the grumpy bird and then poked Tzeentch’s tail, before running away and hurrying behind Helios, as he rejoined the crowd.

She wondered what he was mixing, as she leaned over him, her shadow covering him, and was surprised to learn he was making medicine for a sick child he just met. She resisted the urge to nuzzle.

Grateful for this kind gesture, the gawking boy carefully took the jar and the orange, then pulled down his scarf and gave Helios a bright happy grin. Then hugged him tight with his little scrawny arms. “Thank you, sir! You’re nice!” said the boy. “Um, my name is Fin Williams. If you ever visit Shnardlepuff, I’ll give you a free shoe shine in the market square!”

And then off he went, running to his mom and showing her the bottle and orange. She looked surprised and looked towards Helios. She seemed to think that maybe her son begged for it which she did not approve, as she was shaking her head and pointing, as though she wanted him to give it back. But with some talking from Fin she seemed to understand that it was a generous gesture and came over to bow and thank Helios profusely for his kindness, offering him a free foot massage and shoe shine.

Parfa quietly left the crowd, looking back at Helios warmly as some of the other folks started asking him for medicine too, and leaned against the side of the ship watching the small island of Shnardlepuff grow bigger and bigger as their ship approached to dock.

    III

The ship docked at the tiny port of Shnardlepuff, sailors and passengers walked off the ship as others walked on. Crates and goods were moved to and fro as the guild walked down the boardwalk and were met with land. The ground shook and people panicked. Up ahead in the Village there were two hulking dragon rolling about as they snapped at each other, knocking into buildings, barely missing people running away.

They roared and reared and charged at each other, fire being spat but they seemed to be, laughing?

Either way they caused mayhem, the captain called for their crew to hurry up unloading so they could get out of here. Some just stood and started as the smaller dark grey dragon pinned down the bigger purple one. Placing bets as the purple one rolled them over to reveal the red scales along the grey one’s back and it’s own soft blue underside. It may have been quite breathtaking to see the two dragons but they did knock over a house.

    III

Tzeentch simply perched on Arleth's shoulder and observed Helios while his mistress continued to study the approaching docks, "an average bird would not," the Raven on her shoulder ruffled slightly and made a low and calm caw as though accepting the apology and the gratitude in turn, continuing to watch their guildmate and when the fellow commented on his feathers, he pressed his breast out and stood a little taller as though he were proud and taking the comment as a compliment. But Helios was right, Arleth didn't care what he was up to with the feather and Tzeentch probably hadn't considered it because to him it was just a feather.

As Helios again thanked him and began to walk away, Tzeentch bowed his head slightly and proceeded to turn around, until his tail feathers were poked, at which he squawked loudly in surprise and turned on the culprit in time to watch her scamper off. He let off a few more caws in her wake before turning around cawing lowing as though he were grumbling about the unexpected touch.

Undoubtedly, Arleth had been eager to make it ashore. Not for the want of being on solid ground nor boredom, but simply because she was interested in seeing what they would be dealing with and if it would be a difficult task or not, either way she thought the situation would be stimulating. As the ship thumped into dock, Arleth readied to disembark, heading confidently and steadily down the gangplank. The sudden rumble of the ground caused her to take pause, an eyebrow raising slightly as she spoke somewhat to herself but also a little to her comrades, “it seems we have arrived just in time.”

With a hand on her hip she strode nearer the chaos though still maintaining a safe distance, her arms now crossing over the leather chest of her armor and her iridescent eyes glancing to those running away as they neared her vicinity. Though inevitably she opted not to interfere and instead moved nearer the stone wall of one of the buildings as it trembled and sprinkled bits of loose debris on the ground around them, simply watching the seemingly playful brawl for the moment.

Despite not taking her eyes from the duo, she spoke again to the other guild members, “any ideas other than waiting for them to tire?” Her attention turned slightly as they knocked over the house, to which she sighed and shook her head, she would hate to be part of the clean up crew each time these two decided to go at it.

    III

Parfa was aghast at all the inconsideration when she realized the two were playing, ignoring the panicking townsfolk and knocking over that house. “I will talk to them before they hurt people.” she said sternly from beside Arleth, taking off her green cloak and letting the crest of the raven guild on her leather armor show.

Paw rummaging into an embroidered leather pouch that hung from her belt, Parfa immediately pulled out a red and purple feather both with small bones tied to them and a small wooden carving of an owl. Quickly singing in the language of her people, the feathers crumbled into green dust that settled on her paws and swirled around her jaws, as a white spirit pulled itself out from the wood, then flew on to her shoulders.

It was a small ethereal owl, so small that it can sit on one’s palm, with little tuft ears one could only notice if one looked closely. It wore a ghostly chevron patterned embroidered necklace with a blue stone woven in the middle, and its big blue eyes automatically glanced at Parfa, before turning a hundred and eighty degrees to look at Tzeentch, Helios, and Arleth, hoot at the raven in greeting, then look back at the direction Parfa was looking. The owl had an intelligent look and the calm air of one that’s lived for a long, long time.

“Follow me, Sasha.” said Parfa, crouching. The little owl took flight. Then the chimera leapt onto the roof and launched herself into the air. Green dust trailed behind her as she landed softly three roofs away from the playing dragons.

“YOU TWO.” rumbled a gentle, but stern mama voice of thunder. “DO NOT PLAY HERE WHERE YOU CAN SQUISH HELPLESS CREATURES SMALLER THAN YOURSELVES. DIDN’T YOUR MAMAS TEACH YOU ANY MANNERS?” boomed the voice, rattling the windows and reverberating in people’s chests. “I’M OVER HERE, DOWN HERE.” And they would see a smaaalll chimera Collie, tail raised in display of dominance with paws on her hips, looking up at them like nah-uh.

    III

On the bronzed Betsy, Helios simply accepted the offer and made simple medicines for those who need them.

As the ship boarded and they disembarked, the Draec healer looked at the ground; feeling the tremors. He peeked at Arleth, listening to her words, and mentally sighed. Maybe they would be able to finish this mission faster than he thought.

Following the crowd that’s running away and seeing the parties in question rolling around and destroying another house, Helios’ lips pinched. Yep, he was used to seeing this, large dragons rolling around, and not really caring about the ones around them. Before he could open his mouth to try to catch their attention, Parfa walked up to them first. Worried that the dragonic beings might accidentally squish her, Helios stayed close to her side and watched in marvel at seeing a cute tiny owl coming out of a wooden carving.

He resisted the urge to squeeze the tiny owl.

Helios blinked owlishly when the tiny owl amplified Parfa’s motherly words. Then he covered his smiling mouth, coughing a bit. He couldn’t help it; Parfa is scolding large dragonic beings to stop like a mom would scold her child for misbehaving. It’s just —- it’s too much.

    III

The Dragon and Dreac hadn’t noticed anyone in the way. It was just them and nothing else. The Dragon flexing for the Dreac as they snapped back and ran forward to show they were strong as well. Each seeming to show off for the other as they tumbled through the village. It wasn’t until a voice rang out that they stopped a moment to find out what sort of mammal was howling at them.

The two took a double take. This puppy dog was yelling at them? They looked around to the people running away, to the buildings that lay flat. The red and grey Dreac looked past the chimera and saw someone behind the motherly scolding. She sniffed the air, another one of her kind. They better not be here to shoehorn in on the dragon. She growled at Helios as the Dragon sat up from under her and gently pulled her off. Nudging the grey Dreac to stand down.

“We got carried away didn’t we?” The dragon shook some rubble off herself and looked at the two sheepishly.

The Dreac woman huffed and sent a puff of smoke out, regardless of the rubble these people shouldn’t have butt in. If she had been in her humanoid form her cheeks would be bright red. Instead the woman told the dragon, “I’ll see you next time.” and ran off, mainly to avoid feeling embarrassed in front of the dragon.

“Nadine wait!” The dragon moved towards her but looked back at those people, their insignias…. Were they from those guilds she heard about? She hung her head down as Nadine took to the sky and disappeared from view. Turning back the dragon sat on the ground and moved to look at the chimera and male dreac more eye to eye. Well as best she could. “We… hardly noticed the village… “

    III

Talk to them? Arleth couldn’t help but echo a snippet of Parfa’s words in her thoughts as she glanced to the Chimera preparing her spell, one of her sleek black eyebrows raised. As the little ethereal owl appeared, Tzeentch flicked his tail feathers slightly, tilting his head this way and that curiously and blinking his little black eyes before cawing a return to Sasha’s hoot. Though Arleth made not a move until Parfa started her roof jumping which was when the Half Fae moved from the wall.

Arleth’s gaze trailed after Helios as he stayed close to Parfa and after the Collie Chimera let loose her booming but brief lecture an expression crossed the Half Fae’s pale features as if she were asking, ‘did that Chimera really just scold two dragons?’ She then sighed before moving forward and giving a slight leap into the air, during which her form became quite a bit smaller comparatively and Tzeentch left her shoulder taking to the air as a ripple of black travelled down his mistress’ form until she was a virtual mirror image of himself.

The two ravens flew to Parfa’s side, Arleth regaining her human form just as swiftly as she abandoned it, her feet touching down gracefully on the roof as she gave a brief bow with one hand behind her back and her other in a fist against her chest, Tzeentch once more taking up his perch on her shoulder. No words passed her dark lips until after the Dragon had finished speaking and only then did she interject.

“I beg your pardon, Madam.” She spoke loudly and clearly, her tone firm though respectful, “My name is Arleth and my colleagues and I are here representing Kolan’s Raven Guild. While we do not presume to…” she glanced around at the havoc that the Draec and Dragon caused and continue to cause the townsfolk before placing her gaze firmly back on the Dragon, ”disrupt your prodigious bonding with your acquaintance, we have been contracted by the citizens of Shnardlepuff to hopefully come to some sort of agreement about your… raucous rendezvous.”

When he heard that warning growl, Helios’ melodic chuckling was cut short. Then he snorted, obviously annoyed at her. He. Was. Not. Interested. Nor will he be for years.

His green eyes rolled over to the sheepish dragon, his annoyance fading as he can see that at least one of them has the decency to feel ashamed. Then the Draec left in a hurry. Again, Helios became annoyed. What is the point of having a potential mate if you’ll just leave them to deal with whatever comes your way? Coward. Even if said dragon is only a friend, it’s still not nice. This is her fault too.

He listened to the conversation, his annoyance fading once more as he watched the dragon realize what is being said by the group’s leader. His brows furrowed in understanding of the dragon’s situation.

“Hi, my name is Helios. Is there a reason why you are doing it in the village and not somewhere that has a big and empty space? I’m sure you realize that this place is not exactly dragonic-proof.” Helios asked, tilting his head up to look at the dragon. A soft frown etched on his pale face.

    III

Parfa grabbed Helios’ arm when the red and grey draec snarled, powdering him with some of the glowing green dust on her paw that traced a faint outline of a magic rune. She was shaking, then she looked away from the dragon, shielding her face with an arm from the dust that billowed as the draec took flight; Helios would suddenly see that hidden behind Parfa’s arm, her brown eyes had changed to Sasha’s piercing blue.

Up above, the soaring little owl would hear a secret whisper from the Collie: to latch on to the draec when she passed her. “Please find out where she lives, Sasha.”

Hoot. Sasha dove into the white clouds, and attempted to sink her claws on a thick scale, where hopefully the annoyed scary draec wouldn’t be able to feel her wedging herself into a nook, tucking in and making herself as small as possible.

Parfa blinked and her eyes were brown again; Arleth was already talking, as she looked back at the dragon who was surprisingly polite for something very large. She suddenly felt at ease hearing Arleth and Helios’ calm voices. Her shaking stopped, and she settled to listening to the conversation with interest, the green dust swirling around her paws and jaws like tiny glowing fireflies.

Nadine had flown to the edge of the island where a small house stood. She shifted to human, unaware of the little spirit like owl on her person. Nadine went inside the small home. It was simple, only the bare necessities inside and maybe a few personal trinkets. The woman say on a chair and buried her face in her hands. She should’ve stayed back there instead of leaving Belladonia. So stupid. Her instinct just took over.

    “Bella’s gonna hate me..”

Among the guild members Bella looked among them all. The chimera was interesting, she never saw one this close before. Especially not one this cute or so riddled with the smell of magic. “We were at the edge of the island. Guess we rolled too far west...again..” She gave a half smile to them. “I’m sorry about Nadine she’s easily spooked by people, especially those of her own kind,” Bella looked at Helios. “I’m sure you mean no harm..and we didn’t mean to hurt the people here honestly. The plains east are just...well perfect for us.” The dragon seems sheepish and shy, and very apologetic.

    III

A cloaked figure slowly strode out of the boat that the rest of the party had departed from, walking by the sailors and civilians. The figure stretched and seemed to yawn as they walked, everyone around them completely oblivious to their presence. There was a sort of weird aura around them that slowly dissipated into the wind as they pulled the hood off of their head. Sunlight reflected off their white hair, that caught some people’s attention. A few bystanders questioned where the woman came from, but most people were too busy running for their lives to question it.

Lirletta was chuckling as she appeared behind the group, “I didn’t expect this at all. I knew it was a good idea to follow along.” Lirletta had hidden aboard the ship that this group had gotten on. She had asked to be on this quest, but didn’t want to be bothered on the ship. “Can any of you help me fix these buildings? This .. rambunctious couple don’t seem to be able to do it themselves.” Lirletta asked the other people in the group. Of course she had experience with using her gravity magic to put the pieces of the buildings back together, but help would be appreciated.

    III

"HER OWN KIND?" repeated a confused Parfa, the green dust swirling into faint runes that swirled like a cone before her jaws.

She questioningly put a paw on her chest, then looked at Arleth and Helios, baffled. Then her gaze narrowed on Helios. She gasped, then looked at the dragon, and then back at Helios again.

"You're a draec?" she asked him, amazed.

T'was then someone she had smelled before in the guild, but did not get introduced came up from behind the group. "Oh, hello, new friend!" Parfa's tail wagged. "I can't, currently in a conversation. This is Helios!" she added brightening up. "I am Parfa, the draec who flew off was Nadine, and this is . . ." she extended a paw to the dragon, but it remained open as she remembered something. The green dust swirled into a rune cone around her jaws again. " I'M SORRY FOR INTERRUPTING, BUT WHAT IS YOUR NAME, COURTEOUS DRAGON?"

Meanwhile, on the far edge of the island, Sasha hopped behind Nadine and slipped through the door before it closed. She ducked behind a broom, peeked out when the draec buried her face in her hands, then silently flew up the rafters.

There behind the wooden beams she continued to watch, looking below the house every now and then for another exit other than the door.

    III

“You don’t have to shout.” The dragon chuckled. “It’s nice to meet you all, I’m Belladonia, though you can all call me Bella for short.” The dragon gave them a little nod. Bella looked over at Lirletta. “Oh another Dreac,” She looked over at the woman helping to clean the place up. “Here let me, was my fault we ended up here, we wanted to avoid the farmlands but I guess we just tumbled to town...” A blush would form on her cheeks if scales could change color like human skin did.

Bella stood up and did a quick shake to prepare herself. “Sarceo” Her voice echoed, pieces of rubble and buildings floated through the air and started to assemble and repair. “Surely a Dreac and a Dragon can put all this back together, It’s the least I could do..” She said sheepishly and then got an idea. “Nadine just,” Bella sighed and rested her head on her hand, looking to the distance dreamily. “It’s easy to get distracted by her.” All the while the rubble still was being repaired magically bit by bit.

At her home Nadine sat, not noticing the little owl among her things. There was a small fire place in the home, Sasha could easily escape through there. The dreac had come to a resolve and straightened her jacket. She’ll have to woman up and just return and apologize. IF no one had already tried to follow her that is. The dreac went out the door to make her way back.

    III

Helios took a deep breath, his voice stayed calm.“Yes, I’m a Draec.”

Well there goes his hopes of not revealing his race to anybody for a while. Then again, he shouldn’t have gotten his hopes up either. Not when there’s another Draec who is apparently sensitive to their own kind . . . Like him. He sighed as another woman from the Raven guild came, peeking over his shoulder, and nodded as a greeting.

His green eyes looked back at Bella when she spoke while fixing the town and sighed. Twitterpated, he concluded. “I shall help as well —- let me know if anything is happening, Parfa.” Helios told the doggie chimera and made his way to check on the townsfolk; asking if there was anybody who needed medical treatment. He’d pull out some salves and bandages, even grew a few thin roots from the ground to make splints for anyone who might have a broken arm or leg.

His attention turned back to the helpful dragon as she spoke again, pausing from wounding a roll of bandages before shaking his head. Should he blunt about this? Perhaps he should be careful on his words —— it doesn’t seem like Bella meant any harm. She’s just twitterpated . . . With someone who just left her behind.

He’s not gonna let that go, is he?

After mentally scolding himself for caring too much about Nadine’s actions, Helios cleared his throat. “You really care about her, huh? If you don’t mind me asking, when did you two meet?”

    III

“Well… it’s a bit of a long tale, but I was well her prison guard and she was a-a test subject in the Spire for magic research…” Bella said sheepishly. It was a sad story but the ending was happy. They were here now, just recovering before moving on. The members could see that physically recovery was going well, but Bella knew Nadine needed a little more time to adjust to well, people and beings. Romping around villages wouldn't help that either. Maybe it was fate these guild members were here, just the push to find a real home and start something with their lives hopefully together. “before I helped her escaped that is. She couldn’t fly then.”

    III

Arleth had taken to standing with her hands on her hips, her darkly stained lips remaining closed and relaxed as the others conversed with the dragon. She didn't really think anything of most of what the dragon said to them, it was understandable, their lives and bodies were rather expansive when compared to practically anything else, it was easy to believe that they hadn't noticed the destruction they were causing while they were causing it, though she couldn't easily understand how they couldn't notice the damage they had caused when their romps had ended. One of her hands moved to lightly rub at the soft skin under her chin absently as she listened to the others talk.

As Lirletta approached, Arleth shifted her gaze slightly, giving the woman a respectful nod, though shortly after she gave an abrupt chuckle that ended as quickly as she had started when she asked if anyone would give her a hand cleaning up the rubble. It was entertaining considering Arleth had been musing moments ago on how she would not ever want to be part of the clean up crew and that hasn't changed. She shook her head slightly, not specifically responding to the query, and looked back as Parfa exclaimed and when she glanced her way, Arleth shrugged slightly and glanced to Helios, assuming that she must be speaking about him, though her reaction to the fact was not even remotely as exuberant as Parfa's.

"How tragic..." The statement was made in the typical emotionless way that Arleth said most things though her hand lowered from her chin and was used to gesticulate as she spoke, "of course I have a mind to think that the citizens here didn't explicitly hope that we would end our encounter amicably and I would hate to think what would happen should we be unsuccessful in coming to some sort of arrangement where their village isn't once more destroyed upon our departure."

Arleth maintained a steady eye on the dragon as she spoke, there was nothing hostile in her demeanor, she simply spoke matter-of-factly and felt that the dragon would understand the precarious situation considering what she and her potential mate had already been through, though she didn't spare any time continuing with what she was saying so that there wasn't any room for doubt as far as her intentions, "that being said, I believe that considering the current individuals present, it would not be difficult to perhaps... find you and Nadine a... more suitable location to call your own?"

    III

The swirling green dust around the chimera's jaws faded into nothingness. "Hello, Bella! Nice to meet you, I'm Parfa Dawpaw!" said the doggy in her normal voice, wagging her tail. "---whoa, you're a draec too? So many hidden species in this guild." she added curiously, looking between Lirletta and Helios.

She gave a salute and a cheerful "Aye, aye, son!" to Helios as he went down to help the Shnardlepuffians. She sat on the edge of the roof, paw feet dangling as she cupped her cheek and smiled dreamily at Bella's story.

"Ah, you had forbidden love. So romantic." her tail wagged faster, as the conversation reminded her of her husband. Mm, she's got a story to tell him when she gets back home.

"And also, Bella, how did your feelings of meh prisoner turn into feelings of I luuurve her?" she added after Arleth's question, clasping her paws to her chest, and grinning at the dragon.

Meanwhile at the edge of the island, Sasha flew silently down again and wooshed in and out of the chimney in a puff of soot. Shaking herself clean, she dove to try and secretly latch on to the dragon's scales again.

Back in Shnardlepuff, Parfa felt the tug of Sasha calling in her mind, and she closed her eyes to briefly delve into the sight of her owl to see Nadine heading out. She opened her eyes again and it was her normal brown ones. She did not say a thing about what she saw.

    III

Bella looked between the Fae woman and the adorable motherly chimera. “Relocation, to where? Not many places outside of Dracoviran are vast enough. You smaller beings are everywhere.” She chuckled. “Though I’m open to ideas I don’t know about Nadine, though I’m sure where I’ll go she’ll be inclined to follow...at least I hope so... ” As she spoke more villagers peeked out of their homes, some returning to the buildings that were repaired. Some staying out to see if the dragon would tell its story, it wasn’t like they took time to know these beasts romping around the Shnardlepuff plains.

The dragon looked at the beings coming out of the woodwork, looking at her curiously and she sat. “And as for your question Miss Parfa…” She blushed. “It didn’t start out like that of course… At first I felt bad for her, but as a guard it was my duty to simply do as told for the great mages of the spire. They were working on cures and new ways to utilize magic for the good of all.”

“I didn’t realize at what cost till I was assigned to her. Volitile, sent the last guard straight to a medical cavern.” She chuckled as she remembered those days back at the spire. “After becoming more aware of what was happening to her and how she was sold to the spire and its mages, I broke her out and I don’t know. As I helped her heal and remember herself I just noticed things here and there, the way she looks at the starry sky, how she liked to show off and when I got sick before heading off the Dracoviran shore. She was gentle and sweet.” Bella had a far off look in her eye. “Though with strangers Nadine has trouble, perhaps a place far from a settlement might be best to locate to now she can fly properly till she can become more accustomed. Do you have a map of the lands out here? I’m afraid I don’t know much of them myself.”

Nadine had flown her way back to Bella who ran forward to great her. “I-I-I’m Sorry I just..I got scared and.” Her head hung low.

“It’s alright, It’s alright.” Bella chuckled and nudged her head up. “You handled it well, you went, and calmed down and came back. Much better than last time.” She smiled as much a dragon could and walked back to the members. “We were just talking about finding a more permanent place to live.” Bella looked back at the guild members. "Together.”

Nadine looked at Bella, taken aback she shifted to her human form, blushing deeply. “Really?” She smiled softly.

    “Really.”

Nadine pulled her hair back behind her ear. “Where will we go?” She looked at the guild members.

    III

"Oh, I'm a missus!" corrected Parfa, tilting her head to show her fluffy mane braided into place with many carved bone pins, before settling to listen to the love story. She smiled and she swooned, then shook her head when Bella asked about the map, humming thoughtfully.

She wasn't surprised when Nadine reappeared. "Arleth," Parfa whispered when Bella ran forward to greet her mate-to-be, "maybe we should continue this conversation with them over lunch far away from many listening ears? Those spire mages could still be looking for them. Also," and here she hesitated, bowing her head bashfully, "I really, really, want to fly on a dragon." she looked at her leader with eager sparkling doggy eyes Helios had witnessed on Misha.

    III

Nadine looked over at the guild members. Getting away from here to talk sounded nice. Bella seemed to agree with them too, though couldn’t help but chuckle over hearing the Missus. “You all may hop on my back I can take you to where Nadine and I dwell to speak of moving to a new home.” She let her wings and head lay on the ground so the members can clamor ontop of her. She didn’t mind giving them a lift.

    III

Parfa was very calm in asking Bella where she was to respectfully sit on her back without treating her like a common mule, exhibiting the proper behaviour for a respectable raven guild member, excitement betrayed only by the way her bushy tail wagged vigorously.

"May I touch your scales and muscles, Miss Bella?" she asked after she retrieved her backpack from the docks then seated herself. If she was told no, she would keep her paws to herself, if it was a yes, she would mutter, "Whoa . . ." as she ran her paw down the biggest cord of muscles she's ever touched, marveling at the large scales, and then put her ear against her back and listen to the giant heartbeat. She loves her new job.

A dart of white and Sasha dove from the sky and landed on the Collie's shoulder. She looked very windswept, with one side of her feathers sticking out the wrong way like a cow lick. Parfa chuckled and gently patted them down, quietly whispering how the little owl did a god job, yes she did, and nuzzled it, before it poofed out of existence in a puff of cloud. She drew out the wooden carving of an owl from her pouch as though to check something, nodded, then put it back in her pouch again.

Parfa did her best to look genuinely surprised to see their new friends' home when they arrived there, offering her suggestion as to where the two could live as they had lunch.

She drew a map from memory, telling Bella and Nadine that her pack were nomads before and that in their yearly travels they had come upon a couple of nice secluded spots big enough for a draec and a dragon to live and pointed them out in the map. Question was what was their preference.

"There is this snowy land with frost giants, mammoths, large wintermelons, and humongous trees"; "There is also this enchanted red forest that's perpetually autumn."; "Oh, do you like flying whales? Here in this spot is a very nice view of them when they pass during their migration."

    III

Arleth let out a sigh as she nodded her head in agreement with Bella’s statement about how smaller species tended to take up a lot of space despite their size, her gaze drifting off to the side as her arms crossed and her fingers drummed absently in a ripple on her biceps. Her lips puckered slightly as she thought for a moment, “most assuredly we would like to arrive at a solution that you both agree upon rather than one of you reluctantly following the other,” she doubted there would be peace for anyone if everyone wasn’t in agreement on whatever terms they came to.

Arleth didn’t pay any mind to the conversation that Bella and Parfa were having, her focus more on how to bring this quest to a conclusion so that they could all be going their separate ways. Though despite her lack of interest in their discussion, it wasn’t as though she were completely ignoring what they were talking about, her focus placed on them more attentively as Bella mentioned the necessity for a map.

It was then that Nadine made her reappearance. She watched the two lovers stoicly as they either apologized or offered reassurance, her arms remaining crossed and her leather clad fingers continuing to drum on her upper arm. She briefly focused her gaze on Nadine as she questioned where they would go before she glanced to Parfa as the Chimera whispered both her suggestion of the necessity of secrecy as well as her desire to perhaps be given a ride on the back of a dragon. Arleth gave a soft little snort of amusement as her arms uncrossed and she gave a slight nod.

“Wonderful,” Arleth spoke without a hint of emotion in her tone, though despite this, the comment didn’t seem sarcastic in the least. She followed suit and climbed atop Bella’s back as the ride was offered, not seeming nearly as pleased by the offer as Parfa was, though she was not without gratitude, “thank you for your hospitality and cooperation.”

Tzeentch meanwhile, easily maneuvered around on his mistress’ shoulders as necessary, obviously very accustomed to riding on her shoulder without getting in her way. He greeted Sasha when she flew back with a curious squawk and at her abrupt disappearance he cawed in surprise, though was summarily quieted by Arleth’s shushing to which he irately chewed on some strands of her dark hair before he settled.

It seemed that Parfa had plenty of ideas on where the two might make their new home and as she drew her map, Arleth chimed in here and there in order to aid her in making the map more precise, “or if you would prefer an island environment, our guildmates recently freed one which is deserted from the terror of a kraken,” and she then added the approximate location of the suggested island to the map that Parfa had begun.

    III

Bella let Parfa feel her scales and buff muscles. Nadine chuckled at the Chimera’s awe. She felt the same way. The couple took a moment to look at Parfa’s impressive map from memory. They talked among themselves in their language. An island sounded nice, all to themselves, it would be great. Through the options Parfa gave them we really nice. Perhaps they could travel?

“We’d like to see the island, then maybe we can keep this map you gave us?” Bella asked as she they took flight, heading to where Arleth had put the island on the map.

“The forest sounds lovely but an island may be a better place to start.” Nadine added. Autumn all year round ?It sounded impossibly pretty. Though Nadine was a little put off by Arleth before the woman was very helpful after all. They flew over to this island, didn’t take too long by air and landed. “Its very nice.” Nadine commented.

“It’s a good place to start. I can’t thank you enough for the help.” Bella Smiled.

    III

Sasha had given Tzeentch an I-was-working hoot. Parfa had noticed when the raven cawed in surprise and grinned at him. "She's a nether owl who lives in another world." and she fished out the owl carving and showed him. It was made of oakwood and looked like a geometric Sasha that had tiny runes etched on it. "We have a contract but we are friends, and she comes out when I call her through this, and she disappears in a poof of cloud when she goes home."

When they reached the couples' home Parfa summoned Sasha again, asking if she'd like to eat lunch with them. She hooted in agreement, taking a piece of smoked bacon from the collie, then flew over to Arleth, muffly hooting up at her then at Tzeentch from the table with her beak full of bacon. The little owl asked the raven if he was amiable for conversation and if his Arleth would not mind her perching on her shoulder next to him too.

Parfa was grateful for Arleth's help, as she turned out to be a tad illiterate, marking spots with drawings of landmarks and monsters instead of names, and misspelling a lot of places and writing letters backwards or in indiscernible scribbles.

"Of course you can keep the map, but, ah, let me, uh, make things more clear." said Parfa, a bit embarrassed. It would do no good if her first ever client in the Raven Guild got lost and ended up somewhere else because of her misspellings. That would be really embarrassing to the guild. Come to think of it, maybe it is very unprofessional looking to be offering navigational help and being illiterate. Doesn't that make the Raven Guild look very amateur-ish? She doesn't want to make her guild look like that, she definitely needs to learn how to read and write better pronto. So she asked for more of Arleth's help.

When all was done and Parfa had another thrill of riding on dragon-back across the sea, jaw panting, her tongue lolling out and enjoying the fantastic wind, she thanked the couple for lunch and bid them good luck in their new home, to have a great love life, and to take care. She gave them the address of the guild in case they have any trouble and need the help of professionals to sort it out, then trotted off to the rest of her guildmates asking them how they were going to get off this island and go back to Shnardlepuff.

After they got the reward, Parfa went off to buy some souvenirs from the town, and when they arrived back home at the guild, Parfa was very happy with the rest of the gold. This was the easiest huge sum of money she got and couldn't wait to go home to her pack and show Sol, Alpha Magnus and Alpha Thelma her big contribution to this month's land payment due.

She asked her teammates if they would be interested in "hanging out"as humans say, sometime in the future, before bidding them a pleasant good-bye and running on all fours down the hill and out of sight.

    III

At the word, ‘son’, Helios blushed and busied himself with making balms and wrapping bandages to any of the hurt islanders. He wasn’t used to someone calling him ‘son’ and hearing it from Parfa just made him feel . . . Is fuzzy the right word? No, it’s more like eating his grandfather’s cold soup whenever he got tummy aches; it’ll coil around his tummy and soothes the pain.

The dreac healer haven’t paid attention to the dragon’s story as Nadine came back. He peeked over his shoulder and subtly grinned before going back to rubbing down his herbs. Then he snapped his head around in surprise at the offer of flight, squirming on top of a piece of rubble in quiet discomfort. He’s not averse to flying, worse in someone’s back. What if he falls? Sure, he can walk on water but only for a few minutes.

Unfortunately for Helios, none of the women noticed his discomfort (not that he could blame them as he didn’t say anything). So after packing his items and giving his last medicine to an old man, he hesitantly walked up to Bella. Watching Parfa who’s at awe of riding on a scaly dragon and huffed. He can do this. They are just gonna fly. He can do this. He’s not the only one who’s going on Bella’s back. He can-

    He can’t do this!!

As the dragon flew over an island they are interested in, Helios held on to the closest horn or spiky scale for dear life. Staring down at the water with wide eyes. He would have screamed if he had opened his tightly pinched mouth. When they landed, the dreac did his best to not faint or kiss the dirt. Taking a moment to look around the area, he noticed how the land is fertile and though the couple wouldn’t be able to get summer fruits, they’ll need seeds for the next season.

“If you are interested in farming, I can make a list of what seeds you’ll need to farm in autumn seasons? Unless you’re thinking of making a greenhouse too, then I can write when would be perfect for the crops to grow?” He asked politely, looking at both Nadine and Bella. “There’s also some nice wild plants that’s perfect for muscle aches.”

He didn’t have a problem with showing Nadine what to look for, should she ever need some emergency salve for cuts. Helios had a feeling they might need it should they ever roll into jagged dead trees or something pointy —— he knocked on a tree as to not jinx the happy couple.

As the group flew back —- with Helios now close to Parfa and holding onto her sleeve between his fingers like a terrified kid —— the guild has their reward and he couldn’t be more relieved to just sail back to the guild. After saying goodbye to the couple, silently nodding to the obvious nervous dreac respectfully, the dreac put away his part of the gold; after buying new herbs and a few baby succulents.

When Parfa asked, Helios perked up and quietly raised a hand up with an awkward smile. In his other hand, is a bag the baby succulents were tucked and rolled in paper and hay. “I would love to. Still need to meet the rest of my . . . Siblings, right? Over dinner?” As they discussed their ideal time to go, the dreac waved goodbye and went inside the guild. Turning red again with his head steaming in happy embarrassment as he wasn’t used to saying ‘siblings’ either.

    III

Before the guild left Bella had given the guild a handful of dragon scales, they would work better for spells or armors than dreac scales. Nadine had accepted Helios help with this, farming business. This was going to be great! She was excited to get started on this with Bella. The Dreac pulled Helios away for a moment before the group parted. “From me to you, if you ever set foot in Dracoviran again. Can you give this to someone, Aelin Caravich. Or just.. Put it in whatever postal system is out there. “ Nadine took a second to cast a spell on the letter. She had been working on it for a while. This was just the chance to get it delivered. The spell just added some lines to the letter on where Nadine was now. She still didn’t quite trust Helios but she felt better about him and the other dreac in the group now.

The guild flew off. Gaining their reward of gold and an upgrade to their armor. The village thanked them happily. Glad o be rid of the dragons but also glad to have had the opportunity to know them more. The story Bella told, gave them a different perspective. Still they were glad to no longer have their village destroyed in a love affair.

When the members returned home they saw the others had returned already, Calla welcomed them all and listened to their tales. “Well, go enjoy your time off, spend your rewards, relax. You all deserve it.” The leader took the cut for the guild funding from the gold and went back to her office, looking a little less tired than when the members had left her.

They had some time to enjoy themselves

    Till a letter came.

Hark! The letter was from the Leader of the wolf guild pleading for help from Raven. The Glorycean armada was after John Doe, though that seemed not his name. He had ran from the human kingdom and now they were here to drag him back from his new home. After allowing her guild some rest Calla Rose rose them up to begin preparations for their trip to Galventia. The Raven Leader put her heartache behind her as they set sail.

Arriving at the shores of the island with an armada already making anchor. With their fishy Captain and friend of the guild Anahita put up a misty fog with the help of her crew. The help of a playful kraken brought down boats as the Raven guild made way to land. Wall of fire on the beach, the guilds working side by side. The wolf Dreac befalling an army, the dead raised to fight beside wolf and raven together. An old Foe met at sea and brought down. A Vampire set on the Glorycean army as a the Raven's Griffin shifter, also named Raven took to raining across from the sky. An Orc and Fea witch a back to back against the Glorycean trump card, enforcers. Even the Galventian people swooped into the fight along their guild. Though the black knight leader was no Match for the Fae leader, even posing as Human Calla sent the other woman to the ground and allowed John Doe the last blow. Sending the remaining scraps of the human army running to their boats.

As the battlefield was cleaned and the Wounded treated John Doe bowed out, thanking his guild and their efforts. For their safety he disappeared from Kolan. Heading out on his next adventure to keep the Humans from attacking the very guild he brought up from the ground. In his absence Calla Rose stepped up to rebuild the Wolf guild Hall, letttinger her members return to Niniva to rest as she accepted help from the locals graciously in her frail human act. Having to be kept to bed rest for a night to keep her human guise. She answered press and questions and help out where she could in the rebuild. When her strength "returned" she went to the capitol to see about a replacement for John Doe or taking the members of Wolf into her own guild. The answer came in the form of a blind man, odd but he was capable.

After that She returned to her Guild Hall. It had been a Week of preperation, a day of battle and another week of rebuilding. Calla returned and went to her quarters silently. Scooping up the undead cat from the floor, keeping her close. For a day she kept from the eyes of her guild before one morning calling them all together. "Alright, with my return we may proceed in our guild activities. If any of you wish to take up a quest then we shall get started on that now. If any one would like for me to join them I shall take up that request."

    Bounty: Hobo Thief START
  • Calla had finally finished all her usual Guild Master responsibilities. Finally she was able to call Henry and Roland to the dock where a familiar face greeted them. Anahita again was their ride. Though really it had been Calla’s second time aboard the boat. Though it seemed it was obvious Roland and Henry had a rapport with her and the crew. They were only heading to the next isle over the trip wouldn’t take long.

She motioned the two men to her to speak to them. Though she was unsure how much to say to Roland. It would be easy to discuss her past life with Henry, because of course he already knew the truth about Calla. So instead Calla pulled Henry aside. Roland had been one of the very first members of her guild. Even if she hadn’t had time to really work with him beyond the quest with Edmund Grant at his pride and joy, The Prussian Museum of History.

“Before I divulge certain details I hadn’t fully intended to let Roland in to far on this quest though, speaking with a better judgement I would like to hear your thoughts on letting him know my true identity. I’d rather not have our thief reveal it should she truly be the ex-hobo I know.” She asks of him, trying her best not to beat around the bush.

The undead quirked an eyebrow at her from under his cowl, as if to ask if she was being serious. "Roland is easily the most trustworthy person I have met for the better part of a century. I found out by chance but if there is anyone who you can trust wholeheartedly in the guild, it's Roland. I can guarantee you that." It wasn't as if Sask was saying that as a compliment or singing the shapeshifter's praises. It was more of a matter-of-fact thing for Henry.

However, the man paused for a moment before adding, "Though not with psychics like myself. His mind is an open book and if stray thoughts can pose a problem, then it may be better to keep him in the dark. Though I doubt that is the case now."

A fanged smile broke across the man's face, "I already told him about our little duel and the reason behind it. You know what he said? He said 'I should have let him get a piece of that traitor.' " A brief but genuine chuckle passed through his lips as he recalled the memory. "He barely knows us. So yes, I believe you can have confidence in sharing your secrets with him."

Roland had been helping around the crew for the majority of the trip, having already hitched a ride with the crew multiple times and having been taught overtime how the ship worked so that if one of the crew members needed help, he would be able to give it. His services readily available to the crew as a form of gratitude for always helping them out with travelling across the seas.

However, there were no complications this time. No traitorous first mates or sirens trying to dismantle the ship to get to their rightful treasure back. So he was able to kick back and relax until they get to their destination. He would have all the time in the world to talk to Calla and Henry at any point of the quest so he wasn’t in any rush to open conversation with them.

Roland had shifted into his raven form, perched on top of the crow’s nest with one of the crew members who was starting to nod off from his position. He didn’t mind though and the occasional flapping of his wings - which he excuses as him losing his balance - does wake the boy up every time. It usually ends up with the boy muttering something about him not being asleep before nearly dozing off again.

He saw Calla and Henry talking before turning his attention back to the seas. They were probably hashing out some quest details. Or, they could actually be getting along! From how Henry had told the story of the whole duel thing, he didn’t expect them to be on such cordial terms but this was better than them fighting.

As Roland looked down at the ancient pair Calla had slapped Henry up the backside of his head. So much for cordiality. “Should’ve known better to think you’d keep your mouth shut Mr. Sask. Like a teenager thinking he’d won a squabble at school aren’t you?” Her arms crossed and she looked up to catch Roland in his raven form looking out to sea.

“How ever we could teach him how to safeguard his mind,” mulling it over taking in what Henry had said Calla was leaning to a decision. Guess there’ll be two people alive to know the truth. Technically 3 but the king himself she had no choice, it was part of the deal. Be human and run the guild or be herself and not achieve such a dream.

Then again the dream wasn’t really hers though by now, all those back at the hall, out on quests on their own, members old and young. It had become closer to her than she’d like to admit. Again, Roland was one of the first to join.

Calla waved down Roland to join her and Henry on deck.

"Yes, you should have. You've seen inside my mind after all. Though that means you should also know that he knows nothing about you specifically. Only about the betrayal." Henry hadn't even flinched at the strike.

Rather, he found it amusing. "Besides…. A. I'm older than you by a fair bit and B. It was to explain why I looked like someone had beaten me half to death and only had half an eyeball on my left side."

Then a sinister grin crept up on his face from under the hood as he partially looked to Roland's approach, "But since you feel personal about it, like a teenage girl that got caught kissing a boy behind the barn, the rematch is always on the table, Rose. Can't make any excuses if you lose a second time." He jibed with a low chuckle. It was clearly entertaining for the vampire and he enjoyed the back and forth but there was no malicious intent behind the words. It was meant to irritate not dig into the fresh wounds that the situation had honestly caused.

Roland squawked in surprise when Calla had smacked Henry, which grabbed the attention of the now, actually slumbering boy and he nearly toppled himself over as he wildly looked around to see that Roland was flying close to the nest to avoid getting smacked by flailing limbs.

But Roland wasn't looking at the boy anymore as his attention was grabbed by the two other members of the guild. He had hoped that they were getting along but perhaps not? Then again, friends tend to be physical every now and then and he wouldn't be surprised if such was the case with Henry and Calla. He hoped it was.

He was about to return to his perch, perhaps properly talk to the boy so he didn't keep nodding off, when Calla had gestured for him to come down. Curious, he sped down and shifted back to his human form, taking a few steps towards them and then stopping.

"Is this about the quest or-?" He tilted his head to the side, wondering if they had formed a plan for their quest or if there was just something they needed him to do or fetch.

Her eyes widened at his smirk and remark, nose flaring. The closest he’d get to an offended and flabbergasted gasp. She was about to give him a harder slap than before but luckily Roland arrived. Calla simply sent Henry a glare, not letting him get under her skin. Nor letting him even think he had done so at all.

Gathering herself she answered to more civilised of the two men.“Yes, a bit. More background information you’ll need, and it does not leave the three of us.” Calla says and they could sense magic around them. A simple spell cast to keep their words between them, anyone listening in well.. simply wouldn’t be able to.

“And Henry can help you keep the information safe from mages like himself.” She motioned towards him. “He’s already told you of the betrayal in the guild and the misunderstanding after,” that was sugarcoating it for sure. “There’s a lot more to its complications” Calla also created an illusion around them so only the three of them would see her shift from human to fae. It was rather anticlimactic, only her ears became longer. “I am a Fae and the importance of this quest is that our thief very well might be a friend from my previous ‘life’ or body.” She shifted back to human and dropped the illusion around them.

The vampire grunted his agreement. "It's unlikely but on the off chance it is, the mission got a lot more personal for our Guildmaster here." Henry crossed his arms across his chest and pulled the enchanted cloak closer around his frame, sending a small glare skywards. "So, this quest is on a need-to-know basis. You're the only one I deemed worth knowing."

Roland shifted uneasily when the silence barrier had enveloped them. What was so secret about this quest that would need such defense against prying ears? Nevertheless, he kept himself silent as he listened to his guild master speak.

"Ah." Roland stared a tad bit too long when Calla had shown them her true form - though it changed very little, the mere action and subsequent explanation had him in wonder. He had never met a Fae before, aside from their newest recruit, and to think that one was so close to him! This certainly excited him and answered a couple of questions that had brewed inside his mind since the beginning. No wonder she was so magically powerful! "Ohhh." He turned to Henry as he continued the explanation.

Roland had never really been used to secrets but he knew the grave importance of this one if they were preparing this many steps to hide it. He wasn't as enthusiastic in agreeing but he nodded his head and spoke. "Then I will take it to my grave." He promised. "I appreciate the show of trust, Miss Calla, and I will try my best to not betray it." He gave them a wide grin. "And I'll make sure to train with Henry so I don't accidentally slip up here." He raised a hand to his temple, well aware of the possibility of someone tapping into his mind and soaking up the information that he knows.

"In the case that the thief is your friend." He started in a low voice, bringing his hand back down to his side. "What do you plan to do?" He questioned curiously.

Calla wasn’t quite prepared for his question. She had questions for sure but really what was her purpose? If this was Rosamond would the woman even recognize her? The rogue she knew wasn’t very… smart. To put it lightly. “I just,” she paused, “have some questions for her. Perhaps offer her a place at the guild, she was apart of the group that started the entire idea.” Though Calla was unsure, her eyes looked towards the ground her shoulders slumped slightly.

Seeing the quest before she just knew it had to be her, the human was a kleptomaniac. Now that Calla really knew what happened between them all well maybe she felt a sense of guilt. All things considering she should’ve known the departures of her friends was something suspicious. She felt 70 again, unsure of herself and everything around her as new, incredibly changing information shifted her view of things those nearly 48 years ago. Snapping from her thoughts she straightened herself out. “Firstly we must find her and conclude if it even is her. Like Mr. Sask said, it's unlikely. Though it's best to be prepared for everything we can be. This is a possibility we can at least somewhat expect.”

“Ooooo shopping!” Rosamond clapped her hands

“No, not for you.” The fae’s head shook at her. “And Henry will make sure you don’t ‘borrow’ anything either."

    "With pleasure." he growled.
Calla let out a few chuckles here and there through their shopping excursion. Rosamond was quite the ball of entertainment. The guild leader seemed more at ease with her insane friend. Perhaps opposites do indeed attract. "It's for my guise. Something to make it seem like I'm channeling my magic. That way if it packs more a punch than a human I can blame it on the staff." Calla explained quietly to Rosamond inquiring about her purchase. "Plus I can more easily," she lightly tapped Roland's head with the end of the staff. "Keep order." Calla laughed softly.

Soon they returned to Anahita and her ship. Already dark by then, the crew had gone off, only a note left for the guild members. This "captain" surely wasn't the prompt kind. At hte least they were still on this island. The trio and their more or less, prisoner friend, stayed at a inn. The fae spent the night on watch over Rosamond both of them catching up from the last few years apart. "Do you know anything of Vakar? Where he went?"

"That brainless orc? I haven't seen him in ages. At least he can't ever go back to Orsinium. One less place to look." Rosamond chuckled, yawning.

"Well hopefully he wasn't captured by my people." Calla said with a bit of worry. Vakar was a war criminal after all among his kind and fae. Though for now Calla was content with the find of her friend Rosamond. An enemy to Gloryce and possible the hobos, that she was never clear on. Calla herself a past criminal among Fae. What ever she did, only the council of the Unseelie Court knew. For now Calla kept to her new life, no point chasing a past she didn't know. She was still welcomed home after all but the mark was their still in her soul. How long had she lived before her childhood with her dutiful fathers? What had she done? Fitting though, her old band of friends all criminals themselves, even her ex love in the end was a down right evil bastard.

Her gaze moved to Rosamond sound asleep shaking the fae from her silly thoughts. She shouldn't worry to much. Her name was Calla Rose, the leader of The Raven Guild. That was her contentment and tomorrow she'll return to her hall, to her cat, and to the new members in need of guidance on what ever quest they seek. That was her contentment.

    THE NEXT DAY

Swiftly they finally got on the ship and arrived at the guild once more. Returning before any of the members woke Nera was the only one to greet them. "Well, thank you Roland and Henry. I'm trusting all three of you with my secret this is something that the king of kolan has ordered as the deal to keep this guild open so, tread well on what you say. I'll see Rosamond around and to her new job here at the guild. If There's nothing else need be discussed." She thought to the two of them, perhaps, maybe, warming up to such communications. To anyone else they would seem to just be standing around.

    [/div]
Rosamond Violace, a 22 year old Human Rogue, er Thief mostly, has been employed by Calla Rose to take care of menial Guild paperwork, mail, messages, deliveries and cleaning, and watches over the guild when Calla is not around. This is part of her Community Service deal to get out of jail. Some how things still get done. Some how. Don't go into her room she has moved her old hoard of junk into it.
Rosamond used to be a wizard's apprentice in Gloryce, but studying spells instead of traveling the world was too boring for a girl as badass as herself (or at least, she liked to think she was badass). Rosamond wasn't sure if she wanted to give up studying magic though, but when her kleptomaniacal tendencies got her in trouble with the wizard, she was kicked out of his life and into her own. Now, Rosamond experiments with spells on the go, favoring a fighting style of both spell-casting and stabbing. Like a vagabond, she wanders the world, searching for a real home and new spells to try. Rosamond has different enchantments for her daggers, which she materializes with magic and throws at her enemies. If they hit her target, the spell will take effect. The dagger disappears after being thrown. Along with their spells, the daggers cause the damage of, you know, a dagger. Some of Rosamond's go-to dagger spells can add physical damage, such as electrical or fire attacks. Others have mental effects, such as dizziness or illusions.
