Fantasy Kolan and The Raven Guild

'.....Gods above, is this necessary?'

Needless to say, the "exchange" between the two elves was beginning to sicken the vampire. This was not to say that Henry couldn't stomach romance but what was unfolding here was just repulsive. Ignoring whatever the hell was unfolding after the two had left, Henry decided to take it upon himself to select a quest for himself and his draconian comrade. He came across one that looked rather interesting.... The apparent escorting of a family and possible subjugation of a Kraken in open waters. The man had certainly heard tales of the creature and read books on their anatomy. Glimpses into the minds of veteran sailors over the years had revealed its appearance and deadly taste for bringing down vessels with its massive size. While some tales were obviously exaggerated, the fact that they could easily capsize and destroy a small ship like the one in this quest was no mere tale.

'Our first quest is going to be a fun one, my child.' the tanned man mentally sent to Zirla.

He relayed what he had chosen and looked over his shoulder to the elf man who was now taking the elf woman... somewhere. He could have easily read the elf's mind but..... he shuddered to imagine what kind of hormone fueled infatuation was going on up there. Sometimes, things were better left unknown and whatever was going on in that man's head was one of those things. Henry proved to be mentally unstable from time to time and he didn't need that being added to the mixture.

"No, they are well accepted here. Provided you can keep them under control, of course." The man directed towards the woman who had introduced herself earlier as Arleth. Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle

Henry sent his intention to Genji mentally and his expectation that the man would make sure the necessary paperwork was in order. Soma Schicksal Soma Schicksal

"yes, though first I would like to apologize for the interruption I may have caused by my arrival." She glanced over at the fellow that had introduced himself after her, "though I suppose I was not the only one." She quirked the slightest hint of a smile though it was gone a moment after, making it difficult to discern whether or not it had actually happened, "as for my question, would I be incorrect in assuming that companion animals are not a problem?"

"No, they are well accepted here. Provided you can keep them under control, of course." The man directed towards the woman who had introduced herself earlier as Arleth.

As soon as the fae started to answer Arleth the man Henry approached and answered for her. He and is dragoness companion had just taken a look at the quest book, no doubt they were both ready to get started. They may have to wait. "Yes, there are no qualms against companions such as your raven, I myself have a skeletal feline running about some where on the hall. As long as you take care of your bird there should be no trouble." Calla gave the half fae a small approving nod and turned more to Henry, catching a glimpse of Genji going towards the door behind him. Her eyes squinted slightly as The two elves left the guild hall.

She knew long ago genji was like most elves and took on many partners. However since they were more or less together Genji had little luck with other women. It didn't stop him from swooning over every pretty face though. It was a surprise that he liked her at all in the begging, she was very cold to him, even for Fae standards, and the scar on her cheek didn't help at all. Though then she didn't used to care for his opinion. Guess she grew quite attached to it now, so much so that his latest infatuation made her nose flair ever so slightly in annoyance. It wasn't the girl's fault, but she would have a talk to Genji about acting so love struck with women he just met, especially when it was apparent that he directed Henry to her to continue on his way with Olive.

Directing her gaze back to Henry she spoke. "I assume you have something you wish to talk about Mr. Sask but just a moment please." Calla looked at Arleth. "If there's nothing else you have questions about feel free to take up a room and rest from what ever travels you may have had to do. Same for you as well Noir. Its lovely to meet you both, " A welcoming smile managed to form on her lips then she turned to Henry and Zirla. "And you both as well."

"Charmed, I'm sure." The man replied. He didn't bother to mask the skepticism at her supposed pleasure to have met them all. It was his own fault but Henry felt as though they had already started off on the wrong foot. Not that he really accepted any blame for it. In his mind, he was well within his right to be suspicious of the guildmaster. No one had old, powerful mental barriers up at all times unless they had things they wanted to hide. Important things that carried influence. Not even Henry had his barriers up all the time but rather a "sensory awareness" of other psychics. The vampire hadn't lived as long as he had by being open and trusting of others and all of their secrets. Part of the reason why he so deeply valued his psychic prowess was due to the fact that he could clearly see people's intentions and prevent future problems. A perfect example would be Roland. There practically wasn't an evil bone in that man's body and that made him trustworthy. They had exchanged their names and nothing more but that is all Henry needed...

"I'll claim a room for Zirla and I shortly. As you know, I don't require sleep. For now, I've taken to staying in your medical wing and assisting with the sick and wounded. I'm sure you've already read that I'm a well-practiced physician and I fully intend to use that to the guild's benefit until further notice." The good doctor's eyes studied the human woman's face for awhile with that eerie, standing-far-too-still way that only an undead can manage to do. "That being said, your comment on respect earlier will be taken into consideration... after I understand what kind of people are in this establishment. Until then, you'll have to forgive my.... caution."

The elder vampire inclined his head respectfully and took that moment to take her dismissal and begin heading towards the place he originally promised to go. After all, his oh-so-friendly dragoness child still hadn't had a full meal yet and that would make her unbearably cranky through the day.

While her attention had been focused on the guild leader, as a new voice arose once more behind her she turned slightly, the arch of one of her well maintained brows rising. Prior to the male's entrance, Tzeentch's eyes had widened just slightly and his posture straightened from the relaxed perch he had taken on his mistress' arm as he looked past her shoulder in an alert and curious manner. Though Arleth made no response, her face turning forward once again and her gaze resettling on Calla to whom she delivered a nod, "of course... Tzeentch never strays far from me and I would not expect another to look after him."

With her focus so intently on Calla, she did not miss the sudden change in expression as the woman looked past she and the other occupants of the room, her ears catching the sound of the hall door, though she made no effort to turn and look. Her eyelids lowered slightly for a moment before she turned her gaze to the raven on her arm who seemed to be much more interested in the two that had left than Arleth was. The half Fae puckered her lips slightly at the bird as she made a clicking sound with her tongue to call his attention back, drawing out a series of quick and low caws from the bird as he pecked quickly at her leather covered finger, expressing his displeasure at the disruption. The action drew a soft chuckle from her that was cut short by Calla's addressing her once again, while Arleth's expression remained slightly cheery from the brief interaction with the raven on her arm, it did regain some of the seriousness it had held before.

"None at the moment, madam. Though I shall be sure to seek you out should any arise," Her darkly painted lips curved into a somewhat amused smirk as she once more raised her hand to her chest and offered another bow of her head, her dark hair cascading down her pale cheek on one side before she turned away to move towards the door. She didn't pause as she moved, though her gaze did shift briefly to either of the men in the room, scanning them each as well as the diminutive dragon perched on the more outspoken one's shoulders for but a moment before she went on her way, the leather of her armor creaking slightly with her movements followed by the soft fluttering of wings and ruffling of feathers as she departed to do just as Calla had suggested.

In truth, she wasn't actually tired. It wasn't as though she were out of shape and the walk from Niniva hadn't been that long or exhausting, though she would be lying if she were to say she wouldn't be grateful to get the pack off of her back. She strode softly down the hall she had seen the other members go previously when they had been directed to find rooms, her steps didn't halt until she found a room that she felt was in a suitable location and happened to be vacant. She wasted no time in removing her bag before disarming though her armor would remain upon her person since there were much too many buckles for her to spend time on the task at the moment.

After Arleth had settled her belongings, she moved to the window. She wasn't typically an early riser and despised the sun shining on her as it rose so was certain to choose a western facing pane, this she opened just a bit to allow for fresh air as well as to give Tzeentch a way out should he decide to hunt, though for the time being he seemed content to just perch on the chair placed at the room's desk and preen his feathers.

A soft smile graced her refined features as she stroked the top of his head with one finger, drawing out an offended caw which in turn drew an amused snort from Arleth, "my... you are surly today," she wasn't quite certain what had ruffled his feathers so, perhaps it was the change of venue, though she didn't pay it much mind because she knew he would adjust rather quickly and so she left him to settle in while she went to explore the hall and adjust to the new surroundings herself.

Genji walked into the Guild hall once again before deciding he should tell Calla about the quest he was doing and wrote on the paper for what quest he and Olive were doing tomorrow. Hopefully she didn't mind them taking one of the easier quests but he wasn't sure what Olive was capable of and didn't want to force her into a hard mission. He dropped off the note by her office before waving at her and going with olive out into the city and looking around and shops and places to eat. "Anything you want?" He asked kindly with a gentle smile as he held her close by.

The new memebers were settling in Calla finished up some of the final paper work and went upstairs to her room. The members would assume she went to rest from the tiring night fighting thieves and she did rest a bit. Though only for an hour or so. She didn’t feel it necessary to let her self sleep for long this time, the lack of rest wouldn’t affect her much anyways. She spent the rest of her ‘slumber’ doing a bit of light reading while Nera curled up into her lap. Though all the while she jotted some notes on what to do after the appropriate amount of time passed. When that time came she stood, Nera jumping off her to sit at the corner of her bed, and went back downstairs.

For a while she was in the office, Using a few spells to send letters and papers to their appropriate destinations and took some moments to eat and spruce up her Guild Hall. It wasn’t long till the guild members approached her to embark on a new quest. It seemed so soon, seriously, it hadn’t been a day but if they insisted. Leading them to the quest book she looked over her shoulder, Genji and Olive were still unaccounted for. Turning back she opened the book and could see the Wolf Guid was already done with a quest and embarking on more. “Seems like the other guild is already ahead. “ she said, less than enthused. After letting them pick and choose a good group of them settled on tackling the kraken problem northward. “I’ll arrange a boat to take you to Ra’Kel. There you’ll meet the Odaires. Ravus, I want you to act as my official Raven representative when you meet the Odaires. “

She looked over at the Elemental then at the others joining the quest, “It will be a long journey, I will be staying here instead of joining you. I have no doubts you all will be fine and bring the rest of the Odaires to Kolan safely. Go ahead and pack for the journey. Send word how ever you can, preferably if any of you know how to teleport objects, send a letter that way of your departure and of your return to Kolan. Do not forget who and what you represent as you travel to Hybrdios. First Kolan, then this guild, me and yourselves as people.” She closed the book and put it back in its place. “Prepare to leave in an hour or so. “

The hour passed, the Fae was able to get some one to take them this soon. “Safe Travels to you all, if there’s an emergency do not hesitate to contact me in any way you can. Though I have full confidence in you all. “ A rare smiled awas paired with her words as they embarked on their journey to Ra’Kel. Hopefully the wills of the Geneisis Sisters will guide them right on this journey. The Fae looked up onto the sky, resisting the instinct to take out her crystal and speak a brief orison on thier behalf.

It felt like so long since she properly gave any thanks to the sisters. She would have to keep herself from doing so a bit longer. Keeping any of her personal worship behind close doors of the future. She did believe in the Fae tales but knew many Fae construed the teaching to further puff up their egos. Memories of her father’s teaching her flew about bit quickly she settled them, walking back into the guild hall. There was no time for reminiscing and old sentiments now. With most of the guild guns she could do a bit of training in peace, with out holding back.

Of course, Alreth was still in the hall. The only one who hadn’t even approached her for a quest at all. Calls wondered for a moment what she was doing this whole time. The girl was Half Fae after all. How much did she know about her own kind? The witch didn’t seem to posses the usuall Fae air about her. Perhaps she should check on her. Perhaps the girl will approach her when she was ready. In the end Calla decided to head to the lower floor of the hall. There she decided to take some of the practice dummies and give them a spark of life to practice with.

Ravus spent his free time to play around with his newly learnt Astral Eyes (he decided to call it so in the mean time) . It was a whole new experience to him, to feel everything at the same time. Seeing downward and upward at the same time was an amusing sight. More could be said about hearing faraway voice as clear as the voices nearby. In contrast with the other magic he had, Ravus found that the Astral Eyes work better the less darkness essence available. Was it because his Astral Eyes relied on the contrast between darkness essence and other essence to see everything?

While he spent all of his time inside his room, he had been able to move his Astral Eyes out of the window and further into the forest. He didn't manage to go far, as the connection broke off after a certain distance, but the fact that he could use Astral Eyes from a distance delighted him to no end.

For that reason, when Calla called him later at the day, he was in a good mood.

The responsibility to be a leader was a heavy one, but Ravus accepted it with a nod. He had experience of leading a small team before, back in the War of the Element, and so he was not completely in the dark regarding leadership. As the gathered member scattered to prepare, Ravus simply took his sword from his bed and went down, waiting for the others.

When it was time to leave, Ravus was the first one to board, signing off to Calla with a small bow as a sign of respect. As the land got smaller in sight, he turned and faced the ship.

Skirmishes on ship was new to him. Not that he was worried; without his lower limbs, his balance was perfect. However, it would be nice to have someone experienced on sea battle. For this reason, he turned to his guild mates.

"Do any of you possess the experience regarding battle on board of a ship?"

Roland had watched the tense interaction but was pleased when nothing came out of it. With the new people being escorted around, Roland simply headed up to his room. Everything went smoothly on that mission and he was quite excited to see what the next one would give him. He had a lot of fun even if he was being pelted with attacks and whatnot. He wondered what kind of stories he could tell for this one though, a Kraken. Ha! He's never seen one before and he was certainly interested in how they would be able to defeat it.

He had spent the time in his raven form, leaving the guild for an hour to spend the time around the forest to simply just relax in a familiar setting. He had fallen asleep there, he was sure of it, but he had gone back to the guild and to his room before anything had happened within the guild.

When they were called down for the quest, he had been in a relaxed mood. In fact, he was well-rested. One of the reasons why he took up this quest was because of they were going to transport people from Hybridios - his country - and he wanted to see them off safely. Especially with the sea best lurking around. The leader was going to be Ravus, and he was more than glad to work under the Dark Elemental.

Roland went on board after Ravus with a wave to their guild leader.

When Ravus posed a question, he shook his head. "I've fought on boats before to fend off pirates, but I am unsure how something like that could help against something like a Kraken." He reasoned out. Regular sized opponents actually get affected by his arrows, but with how a Kraken is rumored to work, he was unsure if an arrow would be of any help. Maybe a little. "But I am experienced in fighting as an avian so I could use that. You know, swooping down and attacking."

'' More than I'd care to admit" Henry replied in a low voice to Ravus. "I am familiar with the anatomy of most sea monsters though I have never engaged in combat with a kraken. Whenever I detected one in the deep waters, I would relay instructions to the captain so we could avoid the beast. Subjugating one will be an entirely different ball game." The vampire sighed and pulled his cloak a bit tighter around himself. The tattered, black coat was enchanted to ward off sunlight but just the simple fact of things being so bright always irritated the undead. As his senses were heightened to several times that of the average person, loud noises and bright lights were a problem for him, not including the effects sunlight had on his body. He couldn't exactly turn his perceptions off either. They were always dialed to eleven at all times. This is why Henry preferred to maintain his distance from others and stay in quiet places. Untoggleable senses and hearing thirty different voices in your head was a bad combination for even the sanest of men.... of which Henry was not.

The vampire's hands were covered by black leather gloves and the rest of his attire was of silk and cotton, dyed in black with gold trim sewed into the seams and trim. Appearance alone would make one assume he was a wealthy noble or possibly descendant of some kind of royalty. What differentiated him from nobles was the fact that the swaying of the ship didn't phaze him in the slightest. "I'll retire into the hold and do the same as I have on long sea voyages. I will keep blanket in the waters around the ship and alert you of any threats. If you need anything, just address me in your thoughts. I will be watching."

'Zirla, you may stay above ship and explore if you wish. I would rather you not be bored down in the hold with me.'

"Heh, to be honest, I barely know this town that well anyway but I have seen a restaurant we can go to." He said to her as he held out his hand for her to hold. "Do any of you possess the experience regarding battle on board of a ship?
Subjugating one will be an entirely different ball game."
"I'll retire into the hold and do the same as I have on long sea voyages. I will keep blanket in the waters around the ship and alert you of any threats. If you need anything, just address me in your thoughts. I will be watching."
Anahita had been listening to these guild members as she kept the vessels on course to Ra'kel. It was a simple boat she had two others assisting her today. The message from Calla Rose did not come to Anahita out of the blue. That strange human had come to her before, scouting for crews to take on for future travel. It was like snowfall to hear the news of guilds returning. Her Grans used to tell her about those olds days, back when they were wee guppies in the Arcane sea. Now this half orc fish lady was an official Raven guild sailor. all she had to do was take the bigger groups around the islands when they needed and she was paid more than enough for it.

Though hearing the vampire lad heading to the hold made her give the wheel to Joen. "Hey don't touch anything down there aight? That's our supplies for this over night trip and what we'll need when ew take you guys back to Niniva. You can sit on barrels or take up a hammock but just keep stuff tidy ya hear? Joen will have a fairy if his order is messed up." Anahita hated her first mate's compulsion for neatness but he was good at his job, and frankly she was a disorganized mess with out her best fur ridden lad. She went to adress the other guild members. "Same goes for all of you, we'll reach Ra'kel at Dawn but you guys need to keep your hands off anything you don't need to be touchin. Joen will bite you of he sees you put something out of place. If you want food or water just have him get it for you. Trust me, its just what you have to do." Anahita chuckled. Joen rolled his eyes at her but he knew she was right.
"I hope you all enjoy the sail to Ra'kel, We'll be returning to pick you up once word is given to us that you're returning from your quest to Hybridios. And which ever one of you is in charge hear I'll need a word with you."

Rhi'on: The Phantom Thief
Enter: Rhi'on
Just wholesale stealing at Niniva
[Maybe trying to get attention of Raven Guild?]
AgWordSmith AgWordSmith

From all over the isles, Rhi'on had been dodging guards, stealing food, and thriving on the gains of others. He's recently raised some alarms in Galventia, stealing some coveted bread. At this point, the little breadcrumb-like trail he made, journeying over Kolan has established him as a thief. Unknown, but existent: a phantom.

"A phantom thief, eh?" he thought to himself. He liked that title. He lived for so long, the art of stealing might as well be his job now. He was thinking to himself more, however, a loud *thud* echoed below him: the ship lowered anchor.

"This is my stop."

As he got off, as the last person. Any good stow-away knows not to make himself known. After all, he stole some gold (2 pieces), and some food (enough for the day), on the ship. As he stepped off, he took a breath of fresh air. He saw in front of him, a bustling town. A huge crowd, with even bigger pockets. That's right. Since he's no longer hungry, he's gonna make this more like a sport.

---Thieving Spree Start!---

Rhi'on starts off by walking towards the crowd. He barely had any defining features, save for a scarf and some white hair. Therefore, he could just catch another ship to another island. Swiftly he danced. Even sometimes showing off by walking extravagantly, making wide struts and acting all show-man like. Every time he passed someone by, their pockets just became a tad bit lighter.

Oh, and... he acquired some pen and paper. Just in case he had to write some things out. Just a little tidbit.

Nonetheless, he enjoyed himself. Walking from front to end of the marketplace. Stealing is just a fine sport: to him of course.

What did he obtain? Does anyone tattle?

1: 5 pieces of gold. No one bats an eye.
2: 4 pieces of gold. Someone notices, and tips off the Raven Guild.
3: 7 pieces of gold. Someone notices, and tips off the Raven Guild.
4: 12 pieces of gold. No one bats and eye.
5: 15 pieces of gold. Anyone who is anyone notices, and tips off the Raven Guild.
6: 20 pieces of gold. No one bats and eye.

[Dice Roll]
[3]

---Thieving Spree End!---

No matter how it is, he was tired. He decided to make his way to the tavern to count his gains. 7 gold pieces was in his hand. He was satisfied with such a gain. He gives two pieces to the barkeep, and orders a drink to celebrate.

---On a side note...---

He wasn't exactly discreet. Because, guess what- someone [NPC] actually noticed! And is going to inform the Raven Guild of such local thievery. How they react to this is up to them. Regardless, Rhi'on has not gone unnoticed.

There were many things that Arleth could count as subjects in which she was knowledgeable, though the specifics of guild membership and what a guild had to offer its members were things that she had either not encountered in her lifetimes or they were simply things in which she had not taken a prior interest. Maybe it was curiosity but more likely it was practicality that lead her to rove around the hall from the time she had left the room that she had chosen in the sleeping quarters in order to determine what facilities the guild had to offer.

Her primary goal had mainly been just to discover the location of essential things she would want access to such as a mess hall. Of course she could have asked Calla about such things but if she were to do that, she may as well have just asked the woman to draw her a map. Another occasion to speak with Calla did arise during Arleth's wanderings when she came across the quest board. Most of the items on the board didn't particularly catch her interest, though there was one that stood out among the rest and after removing the quest sheet from the board, she began to venture towards Calla's office, concluding that would likely be the best place to find the Guild Mistress during operating hours.

It was pure happenstance that allowed for Arleth to come across Calla just as she was heading down to the first floor and the Half-Fae was moving up to the second. Her iridescent eyes had been casually shifting towards the information on the quest she had selected, catching glimpses of key things as she moved up the steps, though as she heard the footsteps of another her eyes moved from the parchment. A look that expressed her appreciation of such a coincidence as meeting the very woman she sought was evident on her features, a slight quirk of the corner of her mouth before she hurried up the steps, pausing a few away from Calla, "Ah... just the woman I sought. I would like to inquire about this," she offered the quest sheet over, holding it just so that Calla could see exactly what the inquiry was about.

"To my understanding, the quest is to keep the Odaires until the destination, no? If so, our focus should be on protection over subjugation."

While the question sounded basic, it needs to be reminded that Ravus had not spent a long time in Kolan. While escort and bodyguard jobs were taken up by mercenaries all the time, Ravus, who had little understanding of the society out of the community of Elementals, was quite unsure of some words due to his lack of knowledge. While he had understood the content of the quest before accepting it, a lingering uncertainty still lied in his mind.

The ship captain interrupted their conversation before he could ask more questions. Ravus made a small nod of acknowledgement to everyone before hovering over to Anahita.

"Miss Calla has appointed me as a leader for this quest. My name is Ravus, Ship Captain...?"

He had a questioning tone at the end. Apart from brief (and not friendly) confrontation with Dwarf ship captains, he was foreign to the hierarchy on a ship, if you could call it so. To add to that, most ship captains he had seen previously were male, so Anahita was a bit of a surprise to him.

[div class=textbox]Zirla had never been on a water vessel quite like this one before. The thing was giant and the dragon thought Henry was leading them into a trap as they neared the daunting ship. She clung to Henry a bit more intense when the ship finally broke away from the docks and she refused to open her eyes for a long time. She was greeted with a wide expanse of blue water and blue sky that seemed tranquil for the moment. Henry said he was going to go to the hold which seemed awful and so the two parted for the moment.

The dragon ignored the other members at first and instead flew to the side of the ship and crawled over until she was crawling down the side of the ship, her talons finding holes to cling to as the ship gently bobbed along. She found some entertainment in peeking her head into the little portholes and even scared someone who started raising a commotion about a sea serpent. Ah, Zirla could only wish.

The bobbing of the front of the ship was creating waves that some very weird creatures had found entertaining. At first, Zirla thought they were giant fish but in the middle, the fish part turned into that of a human. There only seemed to be three which wasn’t that big of a threat and so Zirla crawled closer until they were almost eye level. The creatures would go underwater for a few moments before jumping out and crashing back into the water and sending water droplets on Zirla. One of the creatures continued swimming and got closer to the point it was only a few inches from Zirla’s face. It began singing and the other two soon joined. Zirla was never one to enjoy the arts but she tried to see if it was anything good. Henry would probably enjoy it, maybe she should get him out from under the ship to listen. Zirla turned to fetch him when one of the creatures grabbed her hind leg with the swiftness of a hunter. Well, Zirla was one too. The dragon instinctively let out a bolt of flame accompanied with a slap of her front foot that sent her talons shredding through the creature’s skin on its face. The creature let out a high pitched squeal and sunk under water and the other two immediately followed. She almost felt bad for a minute but brushed it off quickly and headed back up to the deck where she saw a few members of the guild talking. She was always wart of strangers but they were her fellow guild members, so weren’t they like family? Family like Henry was. The small dragon flew over and hovered over the occupants like a wandering spirit to listen.

'Ma'am, I believe I just told you there is no need to yell nor to go looking for me. Address me in your thoughts and I will answer. That being said, nothing you have down here interests me and I don't eat conventional food. You need not about angering worry Ser Joen.' the thought was directed towards the captain of the ship. His mental voice projected cooly with a hint of annoyance. It was a wonder why the woman thought that anything in the hold was particularly eye catching to the vampire.

That being said, Henry turned his thoughts to Ravus and replied to the elemental with an unnerving amount of certainty, 'I don't particularly excel in clairvoyance but my hunches are rarely ever proven wrong. This is a protection mission and the fight should be avoided but I have a feeling this isnt your run-of-the-mill monster. Sailors are usually able to avoid or drive off most sea monsters. We were contracted for a specific monster. That means we should be ready for the fight. Even if we don't want one.'

Henry found the darkest corner he could without any sunlight breaking through the wooden boards of the deck. He removed his hood with a sigh of relief and sat cross legged in the shadowy corner. As if he was meditation.

Without hesitation, the immortal cast his senses out over a broad area in the waters surrounding the ship. Anything that crossed the psychic threshold would be known to him and he would be able to relay the orders the moment he noticed any changes.

"Ah... just the woman I sought. I would like to inquire about this," she offered the quest sheet over, holding it just so that Calla could see exactly what the inquiry was about.
Calla looked up and looked over the sheet. "Alright, We can begin this one almost immediately if you like. I will go with you so that you don't have to deal with anything alone, since you are new after all." She spoke simply. Her plans to train will have to wait now. No better practice than out in the field after all. "Let's continue in the meeting room, I can claim the quest properly there and send for transport. " The Fae walked back up to the main floor, using magic to change from the light and easy to move in clothes she wore for training and into something more optimal for starting the quest. Though Alreth wouldn't see a spot of bare skin if nay one was worried about that. Her thoughts were interrupted by a man bursting in before she could get to the room holding the quest book.
He wasn't exactly discreet. Because, guess what- someone [NPC] actually noticed! And is going to inform the Raven Guild of such local thievery. How they react to this is up to them. Regardless, Rhi'on has not gone unnoticed.
Some one did indeed notice. His burning desire for justice brought him to the Raven guild He drastically burst through the doors, wailing "Thar's a thief in town!! You gotta stop him! I know what his mug looks like. We gotta get 'em!!!"

he looked at the man as the guild doors slammed behind him. "Think you can handle a thief with me before we head off?" Calla looked at Arleth from the corner of her eye. It would be a good starting task for the half Fae. Then the quest will be an excellent step up. "Let's head into the city, show us the thief. I can take care of them if you'd Arleth." She turned to her more and tiled her head a bit, more or less the equivalent to a smile in Calla's book. Though she went ahead and paired one to her expression to make sure the tone came across right. After an answer from Arleth the pair let the man lead them more into the city of Niniva to point out Ri'hon.

"Alright, protection should be easy enough to do in my griffin form." He replied to Ravus with a resolute nod. He could just carry some of them and get them out of harm's way; though he'd have to put them down sometimes too.

Roland leaned back on the edge of the ship, listening to what the captain of the ship - Anahita - had to say. She warned their resident vampire - Henry - to not touch anything. He imagined that their ever so serious Henry would just snap at him in a sarcastic quip. The shifter listened to the captain as she continued to explain that they'll wait once they landed in Ra'Kel. Well, this should be easy enough. He prefers keeping himself where he could see things and not cramped up anywhere, so he won't be below deck any time soon.

As Ravus and Anahita soon began to talk among themselves, his eyes were drawn to the dragon who was hovering above them. He gave her a small smile. "Nervous for your first quest?" He asked with a kind tone, hoping to not scare off the young dragon. He'd rather not have to deal with her avoiding him the entirety of the mission.

"Miss Calla has appointed me as a leader for this quest. My name is Ravus, Ship Captain...?"
Anahita turned to the elemental, smiling at him and nodding at his words. She was about answer him when the vampire spoke in her mind.
'Ma'am, I believe I just told you there is no need to yell nor to go looking for me. Address me in your thoughts and I will answer. His mental voice projected cooly with a hint of annoyance. It was a wonder why the woman thought that anything in the hold was particularly eye catching to the vampire.
Her smile turned into some what of a snarl as he spoke. She thought to him, what ever that meant and hoped he would her her message. 'Well apologies you Damned thing, but not everyone is going to turn on a copper to cater to your preferences when the rest of the world speaks, out loud'

She turned back to Ravus, having turned slightly towards the hold as she spoke. "Sorry, yes. Ravus. I just wanted to speak to you about the details of your guild. I figured you would know the most. It's been so long since the guilds were around and your leader is so tight lipped. I wanted to ask, you about more details of your quest and how the guild is. "

As she spoke some of her crew men and woman walked about, keeping the ship in shape and making sure they were on course. A few bumped into some of the member, giving curt apologies as they went by.

The equivalent of a mental scoff would echo through the female captain's mind at her retort. 'If you would rather spend more effort speaking or yelling from the deck, then be my guest. I only quelled your worry that I would even have the vaguest of interest in anything in your hold. Beyond that, adjust the course of the ship a little. Some sirens took a swipe at someone on the port side (Zirla) and I'm sure you'd rather the men you command NOT willingly plunge into a watery grave.' The info was given with a very matter-of-fact tone. It was clear that Henry didn't really care for the lives of the crew members but it was still proper to inform the captain that sirens were trying their luck. Even if she did seem rather volatile.

Again. It seemed the Vampire had made it a habit to speak through mind, as Ship Captain Anahita said. While it was by no mean harmful, the thought that he could read the mind of people around him gave Ravus a sense of discomfort. He had learnt of the value of privacy while he lived among the Damned; sometimes secrets were better kept as secrets to maintain harmony within a community. The ability to read mind went against this principle.

He hadn't learnt much of mental magic, but it wouldn't hurt to learn it, perhaps? Confirming that Henry Sask had stopped sending mental messages toward Ship Captain Anahita, Ravus gave his answer.

"It cannot be said that I am the most knowledgeable regarding the matter of the guild,"
he started with a clarification "my information should be on the same level of Roland, lower than Miss Calla yet higher than Henry Sask or the... dragonling."

Ravus' relation with the dragon and Henry Sask was complicated. While his wariness toward the dragon came from past experience, there was something disagreeable in Henry Sask. A chasm he couldn't understand. Maybe his hesitation to ask the master in mental magic to teach him about divination stemmed from this distortion.

"Miss Calla Rose, human, is the Raven Guild Master. Roland, shapeshifter, and I, Ravus, elemental, were among the early recruit of the guilds. We have gone through precisely one quest, which end satisfactorily. The current request require us to escort a passenger ship safely from Hybridios to the destination."

The dark elemental made a pause here. The dark essence around him intercepted a mental message heading to Ship Captain Anahita, but he couldn't stop it nor hear its content. He frowned again. Not everyone was comfortable with mental message, himself included.

"For the dragonling and Henry Sask, this is their first official quest. I apologise for any trouble or discomfort they cause i the future on the behalf of the guild, Ship Captain Anahita," with an apologetic tone, Ravus continued. He made a slight bow with his body. A gesture he performed often, yet look a bit unnatural due to the fact that he had nothing under his torso.

At the dark elemental's thoughts, Henry couldn't help but give a fanged smirk. His eyes remained closed but true to his word, Henry was keeping a close eye on everything and everyone. While Ravus and the captain were not unjustified in their discomfort, all people would adjust to it given time. Assuming Henry was trusted to some degree, having an elder vampire act as a signal fire for the team would be one of the greatest boons one could have. The most dangerous thing when it came to quests was misinformation after all.

'You are right to feel that way about me, Ser Darkfell. I'm not someone to be trusted so easily. That being said, it would be helpful to have someone other than myself who can use divination.'

'As you know, the accuracy is dependent on the user and having multiple users increases the accuracy. Naturally, I could teach you how to put up a simple mental barrier to avoid passive mind readers like myself. It won't stop a forceful entry from a stronger psychic than yourself but it will deter someone passively reading your thoughts as I do.'

Arleth maintained an almost perpetual smirk, though every now and then her lips would raise just a tad more right at the corner. This was the expression she made at Calla's response to her inquiry, though she made no effort to vocally respond and merely offered a single nod of her head, a few of those shiny black strands of her short hair slipping from behind her pointed ear. She silently followed along behind the Guild Mistress, the quest paper still in hand and made no effort to react towards the sudden change in apparel that Calla made. Of course her lack of reaction was altered when there was a sudden commotion brought along by a lone individual.

Some one did indeed notice. His burning desire for justice brought him to the Raven guild He drastically burst through the doors, wailing "Thar's a thief in town!! You gotta stop him! I know what his mug looks like. We gotta get 'em!!!" he looked at the man as the guild doors slammed behind him.

Though the Half-Fae's reaction was minimal as she really only directed her attention towards the noisy townsman, raising a brow slightly and folding her arms over each other before glancing to Calla as the lead Raven spoke. Arleth returned a sort of deadpan look that was indiscernible before her expression broke into a toothy grin that unabashedly displayed the straight rows of her pointy, white teeth. Again, the exact motivation behind this expression was indiscernible but it was joined with a simple, "of course," which Arleth surmised was an appropriate response to both Calla's question and statement.
