Akira, while not necessarily shy, is not that much experienced in talking to other people and being sociable. He is a very curious person, and would usually try to know more about something that interests him in some way which would sometimes get him into slight trouble. He could get fired up when provoked into anger, but usually tries to be understanding . An optimistic person, determined to never give up even if the odds are against him. He values people's lives, and would do anything to keep a friend safe.

Able to conjure up a transparent forcefield-like barrier in any direction and stops anything trying to go through it, though he is limited to one of it at a time, up to a decently sized square.

A gunblade. Pretty self-explanatory; a gun that turns into a blade.
Background:
Akira led a fairly normal life in a large town as an older brother of the family. They were taken care of by their loving father as their mother was out for work in a neighboring city. At some point when he was fifteen years old they were starting to have problems financially, forcing their father to start working as well. As both of his parents were usually out during the day, their uncle stayed at their home to watch over them, with Akira being tasked with taking care of his younger brother. Often, their uncle would tell them stories from his life as a Soul Captor ranging from his adventures to the places he visited, and would always amaze both of them.
One morning, all of them woke up to loud noises from outside. As they checked what was happening, they soon knew that the town was under attack from the Cringon Souls. Their uncle brought out an emergency weapon, and led them through the chaos, occasionally having to hide from groups of them, until they managed to reach a temporary safe area set up in the middle of the town. Fortunately, save from a few bruises and scratches, the three of them didn't sustain any serious injuries. The next day, they declared that the town was safe, much to their parent's relief as they hurried back to the town afterwards and reuniting with the three of them.
They were all safe, but some of the other families weren't as lucky. This incident was the main reason he decided to be a Soul Captor just like his uncle, and become a person that would be able to help in the fight against the Cringon Souls.
Genetic Enhancements:
As a child, he used to have poor eyesight and always wore glasses. After his decision to become a Soul Captor, he had his eyes enhanced to prevent this inconvenience. This gives him above average eyesight.
