Mei is the definition of kind, but not in a naive way. Her sweetness is something she worked for. Now, Mei is more open. She talks first when she can, even if her voice shakes a little. She still gets nervous, especially in groups, but she pushes through it because she wants to change.

When her parents moved closer to Kitagawa, she took it as a sign. A restart.

Personality:
Unsure of how to properly fit in with others upon attending highschool, Daichi never found the opportunity to be as social as some other students were. He never minded the solitude since he'd often sit in the back of the classroom to quietly complete his work and listen to music. Even during his extracurricular activities, he would never end up going out of his way to interact with anyone outside of the activity. If approached in class for anything, Daichi tends to be fairly awkward. His awkwardness may cause him to seem distant and his lack of facial expressions ( he's focusing on what to say next ) may cause him to be perceived as uninterested. However, he's quite loyal and sweet to anyone in his life that he cares about, performing thoughtful acts of service such as making extra food to give or letting them wear one of his jackets if they are cold. In the privacy of trusted companions, he shows a different side of himself that many wouldn't expect from him in which he gets to be kind, silly, dorky, and emotional.

Background:
A good portion of his teenage years has been spent helping his mother with the bills, which is a major reason why he works as a barista, after his father left them when he was eight years old. He hasn't cared to keep in contact with his father whatsoever despite the man randomly reaching out at times and sees no reason to since his father's reasoning to leave was because he couldn't see himself shouldering the responsibility of a child any longer. During his free time, music and sports became an anchor for him when the stress of helping to support his mother and himself overwhelmed him. They moved around several times to cheaper and cheaper areas until finding a decent and inexpensive apartment in walking distance of Kitagawa High.

Personality:
A quiet girl who tends to keep to herself. She avoids other students like the plague, does not participate in any clubs or activities, and doesn't even have a part-time job. Because she tends to ignore people when they speak to her and will seemingly randomly cut class out of nowhere, she has been labelled a delinquent by her peers. She doesn't seem to emote much either. Some consider her cool, some consider her scary.

In reality, Yuu is painfully shy and struggles with social interactions. She also is prone to bouts of sickness, and when she 'cuts class' she is usually on her way to the nurse's office or her home, or she just didn't come in the first place. She wishes she could talk to other people, but tends to flee when she gets overwhelmed.

Tai mainly keeps to himself. He's kind of awkward and shy but once you get to know him he’s a complete dweeb with zero interests in the real world and only into comics and anime. He also is very protective of those that he cares about. And will show that by getting into fights. He may not be the strongest but he never backs down.

Background:
Tai grew up pretty reasonably, he does dye and bleach his hair only to mess with his parents. But they don’t really seem to mind it. He has a little sister that he loves dearly and would protect her to the end of the world if he had to. He works part time at his parents' store which he likes on occasion. It gives him money to spend on comics as well as anime merchandise.

However she's always more than willing to help her classmates in anyway she can. Your jumper is fraying? Lyra will snip the fly aways and sew the cuff down lickity split. Scared to get in trouble with the teacher for spilling your drink? Lyra is on her knees using her pink handkerchief to mop up the spillage whilst the teacher scolds her.

Background:
Lyra always knew her life was different from other kids. Her father was a man who craved perfection in everything. The perfect job, a lawyer, the perfect stay at home wife in Lyra's mother a "traditional wife" from abroad who although not well educated but always lived comfortably and for what she lacked in smarts she more than made up for in athletic ability and artistic talent, the perfect house not too offensive he wouldn't want the neighbours to think him arrogant yet not anything close to humble either, and finally the perfect child receiving perfect grades excelling in every subject a future artistic prodigy couple with physical prowess. However try as she might Lyra has never been able to live up to a fraction of the lofty expectations her father has laid at her feet. During her early teen years her parents marriage began to see a great deal of strain leading to Lyra's mother finally giving up on this play family and returning to her home country to be pampered by her own parents. Lyra and her father went through the motions for 6 months, attempting to keep some resemblance of the oh so perfect family image they have always projected but eventually the mask slipped. One day, Lyra confided in a friend how she felt she would never be good enough for her father, how she believed herself to be the reason her mother left for her home country and how most of all she just wanted to help her father see there was more to life than perfection. Her friend later that day troubled by Lyra's problems told all to the headmaster. Eventually this led to Lyra's father and herself being called in for a meeting in which her father lied through his teeth saying how he wishes Lyra felt more comfortable to speak with him and how she must be feeling abandoned by her mother and is projecting that struggle onto their own father daughter relationship. The headmaster ate up every word. Afterwards they returned home, her father finally dropped the act as he packed Lyra's things and tossed them to the curb. It was a cold winter night, the snow bit her cheeks flushing them red and yet Lyra felt so warm. Perhaps she should have been depressed but all she could think is thank God I'm free. She had to sleep on benches and buses for a long time but eventually saved the money for a deposit on her apartment, now she attends school living independently holding down two jobs. Sure, it isn't an easy life but it's already so much brighter than it was back then hopefully with some friends and maybe even a bit of love she can find more of herself.

Personality: Usually chills in one of the back seats, always having at least one ear covered and listening to music. He presents himself as more outgoing and comedic in a chill way, but is very quiet and mellow when alone, or with a close friend. Values self expression and because of that and his past, has never really fit into a specific box at school. When in love, he does little to hide it, since he believes that if there's something in life you should pursue it.

Background:
Sakinari is someone who struggled a lot with motivation in his youth, usually just kind of going along with whatever was suggested to him by his parents or teachers. Because of this, everyone believed he would grow up to be an athlete. Thanks to his above average height and aptitude to routines, sports were something he took off in during middle school, having played in the basketball and track teams. However, it wasn't until summer vacation that an obsession finally bit him. Something he realized was that whenever he was at practice or watching a show, there was music. Music that always had a way of making him feel a certain type of way.

He quickly gained a passion for music, both in producing and performing it. As soon as he could, he worked throughout the span of his first year to buy things that he can use to reach his goals, such as a scooter and sound equipment to record himself at home. His mother works late to maintain themselves, so he's usually alone most of the day at home. Nowadays, he's known by most of the school either from his athlete days or his current passions.

- Turned his closet into a small studio, leaves most of his clothes folded into towers in the corner of a room.

She is organized, outspoken, and direct. She believes in talking to anyone and everyone because she knows what it feels like to be or feel different than those around you. She decided at an early age that if she was going to stand out then she'd do it on her terms, and for the things she wanted. She'd shine so bright that people would have to see exactly what she wants them to see. Day to day life most people would describe her as friendly, but composed. The first to raise her hand to answer a question, and usually right. beautiful inside and out.

Background:
She mixed half Japanese and half African-American and that came with challenges in her elementary school years, but she feels like it it made her stronger. She decided she'd define herself so no one else could, and got really into drama because it allowed her to express so many different sides of herself. Outside of doing that for fun, her parents have always been pretty strict with her valuing education over everything. She isn't allowed to make sub-par grades, and was expected to get into her first school choice. However feeling like it would be harder to sustain the image of perfection at an elite school she purposefully botched her entrance application for it and wound up here. While her parents are disappointed, they told her their expectations won't faulter just because she's at a regular school. She feels like it's ok because the pressure to be perfect may still suck, but it's more manageable when everyone around you isn't trying to do the exact same thing. She's come to enjoy her time here. She has her whole life to be polished...maybe this year she'll let her hair down a bit and let people see the imperfect flawed side of her.
