This roleplay proposition has very few restrictions, being focused on freedom of character development. It’s free form, with plenty of room for you to decide just about any and everything regarding your character. The only restrictions are staying inside the realm of plausibility for the setting (no time travelers, etc.)

Setting Overview: It all started about two months ago. The entirely normal, non-magical world that everyone had always known suddenly... split. As if from nowhere at all, the panacea experienced massive earthquakes, biblical-scale storms and volcanic eruptions that lasted for days. The end result of all of this? 7 distinct continents, separated by miles and miles of ocean water. And the worst bit? Mother Nature didn’t even bother to respect the lines that had, for centuries, been used to divide and define kingdoms, countries, territories... people. Ever since the Division of Lands, the tiniest of the new contents, self-named D’varin has been frantically struggling to pull order from the chaos.

D’varin is a dwarf compared to the other continents. (About the size of Texas in total.) It’s made up primarily of wilderness; thick forests rimmed by jagged, malevolent-looking mountains on all but the southernmost tip that used to be a part of a twisted range that divided two great kingdoms. There are rivers and freshwater springs, but they’re few and far between. Due to the violence of the Division, a lot of the buildings and structures that used to offer safety and comfort no longer exist. Survival is more difficult than ever, especially considering how few lucky survivors actually made it through the world-changing event.

Additional Notes: Magic never existed previously. There weren’t divine or demonic entities but other races may have existed if you’re interested in playing something like an Elf, Dwarf, Neko-Jin, whatever. There can easily be a case made for magic ‘awakening’ in D’varin but it would be wild, untested, etc and brand new to not only your character, but anyone else in the world. (Randomly discovering you can somehow manipulate fire after accidentally catching on fire (or being set aflame) and then finding out you spontaneously ignite when you sneeze and shit. Just all sorts of randomness with no precedent for learning to control it.)

This is very much like any post-apocalyptic RP in that there’s no infrastructure in place anymore. No one ever needed to traverse the sea before so ships are small and not equipped to span oceans of distance on deep water. There are small villages in the process of being rebuilt and some of the sturdiest stone buildings survived but very little else. On this continent in particular there isn’t good farm land so hunting and gathering is the lifestyle that survivors would have been used to (lest they were travelers passing through between kingdoms when the world literally fell apart.)

Whether you want to play a gritty survivalist, someone seeking the life of an explorer/adventurer, or just prefer to play a little shop owner and anything else besides, there will be room for your character here. If you’re interested, I’ll get a proper in-character space set up. Questions are always welcome, of course.
