Demon Slayers are the force that stands between Humanity and the death and destruction that demons bring with them. They are talented individuals with strength and power that has been proven time and time again to stand up against their foes. However among the Demon Slayers, there exist people with exceptional abilities that put them above the rest only 9 of these individuals are recognized through their rank in the Demon Slaying Corps as Pillars or Hashira. They are the elite forces of the Demon Corps lead directly by the Head of the Ubayashiki family, capable of claiming the lives of even the strongest demons.

Demon Blood Magic

Demon blood magic is a technique developed by demons once they consume enough people. Demons with this kind of magic become incredibly dangerous and lethal as they gain incredible supernatural abilities on top of a Demon's superior physical prowess and regenerative capabilities. The way these abilities manifest depends on the demon and their personalities, but one thing is certain is that there is a very small chance of survival when a Demon Slayer has to face off against a Demon with this ability.

Demon Sword Magic

A new form of Demon Blood Magic discovered by observers in areas affected by the recent attacks. It seems as though this technique allows Demons to pass down their Blood Magic abilities in weaponized form to humans aligned with them. The way this is done is unknown, but swordsmen wielding these weapons also possess unnatural abilities like the Demons from which they originate and are a force to be reckoned with.

Breath Styles

Breath Styles are forms of swordsmanship taught by the Demon Corps and other Master Swordsmen. All these forms are derived from the original technique called Breath of the Sun. By controlling ones breathing in a certain way, a person's physical abilities are enhanced to their utmost limits, giving the user incredible strength and speed. The pattern of breathing and the form of swordsmanship associated with it define the Breath Style. Through enough changes and innovations in individuals as each person learns their own way of using the sword or controlling their breathing, new forms of Breath Styles arise.
