I haven't painted more than once since highschool and that was all traditional artwork, so here's a WIP! Peace holding geoff once again. There's a lot I have to change still including how pink the lighting is. I think biblical imagery suit him and I knew I wanted something like jesus holding the lost lamb.

i havent drawn eleutheria much compared to peace which is a sin, so here he is pre-lichdom, and then reading rpn banned content in public. plus peace's sleepwear, a cute doodle with beezlebub, and a scene from the campaign of evil jesus giving bub the beatdown

both my current dnd characters have paper white skin because my problem is i use character traits and design aspects from ocs i dont think ill ever get to play, and then surprise a year later i get to play them i reused peaces design elements for both eleutheria and beryl, so this is even post-changing his clothing and hair styles to be more unique from those two, but i wanted to keep his albinism. tbf tho eleutheria looks like that because hes a walking corpse. and i reused chatacter story elements from beryl for eleutheria, thinking the campaign i made them for would never happen, and now its slowly being worked on... oops.

Rip to everyone i commission, because white is the hardest skin color to paint/render well in my experience

I dont do anthro characters much but i think he turned out well! Peace has to ask him why he wears so much leather if hes like part animal or whatever, cuz thats kinda like if he wore human skin right? Fucked up, man.

Aaand, last post today, for all of October, I was working on a ton of sketch comms for a friend of some dnd npcs. Bust comms like these are always open!

The bird boy pinup and two dragons were all commissions. Harness wolfboy was my roommates oc for an art trade. Then I tried out something new for a bunch of portraits for Eleutheria's family.

Something from the end of a dnd oneshot with my homies, the adventuring group was trapped in a city stuck in a timeloop caused by the BBEG and they couldn't defeat him, they only managed to escape at the cost of one of their lives and all of their memories. Before they left they tried to give themselves a reminder of the man who had doomed the city and killed one of them, and a note would've just been taken, so my character woke up to the message "REMEMBER LUCIAN" carved into his back unable to remember why and is going to be haunted for the rest of his life trying to find out who tf Lucian is

Lacrima is a fae creature who’s both obsessed with himself and fascinated by our world and humanity- what’s important to us, what drives us, the things we create. He offers fortune telling using tarot cards for his own amusement and especially enjoys delivering bad news, considering tragedy to be beautiful. Melancholy, tragedy, and beauty all being obsessions of his. He exclusively eats meat and on occasion despite loving humans, will eat the flesh of people that are fooled and drawn in by his appearance. After all what is more tragic and beautiful than both betrayal, and consuming that what you love and having them become a part of you, but destroying them in the process? His ability to taste the last emotions felt by what he's eating heightens his experience as well and he prefers to eat the still-living. Due to spending so much time around people and studying them, he can be rather manipulative and chooses to let people believe he’s like the good, gentle unicorns from our myths.

Base by Corvideum, colors design and chibi is all me, it’s the first chibi I’ve done since maybe middle school but I think it turned out pretty okay!

“Feeding Time”

A giant moray eel for mermay!

I’ve been extremely in love with Iliothermia’s art recently, his huge super detailed pieces, the lineart, and his perspective of seeing working on the large pieces and the process as a meditation and reflection on memories and life… And the way his art is filled with symbolism as well. My whole life I’ve always had a really hard time working on detailed and big pieces, I wish I could stand working on things in multiple sittings and take my time. I never liked my need to rush my art, so I’m going to try to become more patient. Some parts of art really frustrate me and that’s when I normally try to rush through them but I know that when I feel frustrated or I don’t like drawing something I should take some extra time to practice it, because its an area I need to improve on. Part of my frustration comes from a lack of knowledge or skill. I really hate drawing hair so I tried to put more effort into the hair on this one! Some of the lineart I worked so hard on gets lost in the dark color, though. And before the last Eleutheria painting of his hands and the bowl I avoided liquid like the plague so I tried to follow a water tutorial for this. I think it paid off even if I ended up rushing some parts again. I actually kind of like drawing liquids now! Adding the hard highlights to really make it pop is so satisfying. And I might’ve hidden some subliminal messaging in the water.

Idk, half the time I feel like I don’t even enjoy making art, I just like looking at it when it’s done, and even then I only think about how I can keep improving from there and any mistakes I made. I want to find a way to make it wholly enjoyable but I feel like I’m like this with almost all my hobbies and it’s just not fun. Still, I cannot stop making art. I genuinely feel like the drive to create is a curse sometimes.

Also I’ve been trying to make art that feels more like an illustration lately! And not just “character posing on a white background.” Even if it’s just a character posing on a white background I want it to look more stylish, more.. . .. illustrate-y. The composition more… composed. I want to learn how to insert more symbolism into my art too but I honestly feel clueless. It’s a tiny bit easier with OCs that have established stories, I can just stick in objects from their pasts that have meaning that only exists in the context of their story. Trying to make art that’s meaningful to me personally is super hard. I just don’t know how to express my own emotions through art. I think maybe taking some free art history classes could help! See what other people have done.

With Feeding Time I was definitely more focused on composition than giving it any meaning. The meaning is I like eels and monsters and wanted to win a mermay contest in an art server I’m in, but it turns out it’s actually a raffle and the winner is chosen randomly out of the people who submitted any art. Unless subconsciously I like to draw beautiful things as dangerous and scary monsters as actually sweet beings who are excited for their friends to feed them fish because of how society has historically treated people like me. Yes. Yes that’s it. Deep like the ocean where eels reside.

there's so much to love about this piece!! i can't remember anything you've done that's been as elaborate as this in all the years i've been keeping up with your art lmfao. i think you did a fantastic job with the water here, and the branches that are snuck into the corners gives this piece a very complete look. i love the speckles on the eel part of the mermaid, and the perspective of the piece makes it very interesting. the details/anatomy on her right arm (right from her perspective) is exceptional to me. i also really like the way you did the fish in the bucket lol, i just find it charming. the boardwalk came out great too, i love the stump. all in all?? i'm pretty sure this is my favorite piece of art i've seen from you :') u did a fantastic job.

(also funny that you mention you hate drawing hair because that was the exact thing i was struggling with and was going to ask you about recently but i just kept forgetting lmfaooo)
