It was a warm, sunny morning in the town of Locklyn. Aria was asleep within the confines of her bedroom, her eyes shortly fluttering open at the sound of a moving truck awakening the girl from her slumber. Her mother hadn't given all too much away about the new neighbors - only that they had a son around Aria's age and that she would be very surprised of who the guy was. The brunette could only guess that she'd be in for a big surprise later. After all, her mother had invited the family to join Aria's for tonight's dinner. Plus, talking of dinner, the faint scent of pot roast wafted into her room alike an air freshener. Except, this air freshener smelled entirely of deliciousness.

As always, Aria's mom was cooking dinner in the morning to avoid cooking it last minute, which was understandable as the woman would often have a million things to do in one day. Lifting herself out of bed, the girl made her way towards the bathroom, grabbing a towel as well as the outfit she was going to wear for the day. If there was anything in this world that could wake this girl up, it would be a cold shower - the epitome of wake up calls.

After 15 minutes, Aria was fully dressed along with cleared of a fresh mind. Deciding to make her way downstairs towards the lingering scent of food, her eyes first caught onto her mom standing at the center of the kitchen. The woman was busily stirring the fairly thick gravy within an accustomed mug. Upon the dining table was a tray of homemade cookies - still warm and crisp as they had presumably been recovered from the oven only a matter of minutes ago. Aria's mom would only cook this much when a relative - or someone relatively important would be a guest at their home. Which, in a way, was a slight clue to who the neighbors were. And honestly, the brunette couldn't wait any longer.

"Morning, love." The woman greeted, noticing Aria's presence - her usual joyful smile portraying her lips. "Morning," She gave her a small smile before peering back over to the cookies. They smelt and looked gorgeous, "Are they for the neighbors?" Aria asked, brows raised whilst she moved further into the kitchen and closer to the busy lady.
"Yep, they are... And you're going to be delivering them by hand."

Aria was staring at the door of next door's house for sometime. A tin of the baked cookies within her grip, plus she was certain that she would have to do the usual "welcome to Locklyn" greeting - something she had said years before the new neighbors. But something was telling Aria that this wouldn't be any usual greeting. Worst situation, the family would all be vegetarians - and those cookies had gluten - so that would come of as strange as the last things Aria wanted to do was poison the family.

With this thought, the girl wanted to get things over and done with, so she knocked the door. Knocked the door and waited.

Ray's breathing was heavy, and his heart rate quick as he finished bringing the last of the boxes into his new house. Despite his exhaustion, though, there was a grin plastered to his face, and his eyes wouldn't quit darting over to the neighbor's house; her house. It had been far too long, in his opinion. Just seeing the front lawn brought memories flooding into his mind. The memories were so strong that it seemed as if he was seeing the events happen with his own two eyes. They became far less vivid every time he walked through the doorway to the house, though. He had never been inside, because the old man that had lived in the house previously had always scared him. His mother had immediately jumped at the opportunity to buy the house after the old man had moved to a resting home. Ray didn't mind too much, though, because it would mean he would be Aria's neighbor after they had been separate for so long.

After he had brought the last box inside, Ray collapsed onto the couch, exhausted. His mother had, somehow, already gotten the television and Blu-Ray player set up, and was now currently watching a movie that Ray couldn't quite identify, though he did notice that Bill Murray was certainly playing the main character. His eyes settled on the screen for a while, until his stomach grumbled, informing him that he needed more fuel after his activities with unloading heavy boxes.

"Mom, I'm going to make something to eat. Would you like anything?" he offered, pulling his mother's attention away from the movie. She looked at him for a moment before nodding. "Of course I'd like something, since you're the one making it," she said as if it shouldn't have been a question at all. Ray simply responded with a laugh before making his way into the kitchen.

He sighed when he saw all the boxes. He didn't know how organized they were, since they had moved in such a rush. But, instead of just standing and staring at them, he went to work to search for whatever supplies he'd need. He wasn't too far into his search, though, when he heard a knock at the door. He quickly dropped what he was doing and rushed to answer the door. Seeing who was standing on the other side, he couldn't hold back his grin, and this one was bigger than the ones that had been crossing his face all day.

"Long time, no see..." was all he could manage to say. He was smiling so widely that it was becoming painful, but honestly, he couldn't care less. There she was, in the flesh, standing right in front of him, and with a tray of delicious looking cookies to add to that.

Aria hummed lightly to herself as she waited, admiring the furnishings of the house's front door. After all, the girl was attempting to distract herself from the thought of who may answer to her knock. It was unnerving, plus a slight part of Aria seriously wanted to see who her new neighbors were - something she would find out in a matter of seconds.

Once the door opened to reveal a guy standing on the other side, the brunette's eyes widened in realisation at who this person was. Sure, it took her perhaps a millisecond to recognise him - but in all truth - Ray had changed, like, a lot since the last time she had seen him. In a good way though. Well, that was just Aria's opinion.

"Ray...!" The lower part of Aia's mouth dropped open in shock, and if she wasn't so attentive to the tin of cookies and their well-being, she would've dropped them to the floor right then. Instead she shifted the object to her other hand, but used the other to wrap around Ray's neck as an attempt to hug him. "My mom didn't even tell me you were moving in!" She exclaimed, before breathing in his still familiar scent.

Reluctantly pulling away from his touch, Aria felt her heart pumping in a state of exhilaration. The source most likely coming from Ray's presence. Looking up at him, the grin upon her lips was honestly so wide that she almost thought her whole head was about to explode at any moment. "How are you? We haven't seen each other in years."
