Spoiler: WIP Superman

Personality: The peaceful Kryptonian in Antarctica is known by a very small group of individuals, but those who know him on friendly terms will tell you he is a kind and altruistic, dutiful and careful, patient and respectful. However those who monitor and even his enemies will tell you he is dangerously naive and arrogant, stubbornly sure of himself and Pious, even saying he had a god complex which is made worse by his inaction. All of those claims are in a sense True, Kal views earth as an alien world where he will carry out his exile until death, while he does wish to help the world he does not see it as his world to fix, and while the occasional asteroid or alien threat from the stars does get his attention none have seen him react to petty crime or even interact with mankind at all. While some would claim he could make a huge difference he always states the same argument that this is not his world to rule nor is his idea justice worthy of being thrust upon the earth.

Backstory: The krypton of this universe did not meet its end to an environmental catastrophe, nor dod it meet its end as early as other versions of the world. Kal actually grew up on krypton under the light of a red sun. He lived a joyful life in his childhood, following in his fathers footsteps to become a scientist and make the El family proud. Eventually however he and his father Jor would discover a plot from general Zod to sell out the planet krypton to Darksied who had long craved the death of the Kryptonian civilization for fear of what they could become. Kal, Jor, and a small detail of soldiers would go to confront Zod only for Jor to be injured, several soldiers to be killed and for zod to flee. Jor would then plea for Kal to pursue zod carefully and gave him a small phantom zone drive. He instructed him to entrap the general rather than fight him as his superior combat skill made the probability of Kal besting him slim to none.

As Kal took the El families Scientific exploration vessel and pursued Zod, on the opposite side of Krypton Apokolips was on the approach and preparing to invade planet krypton. Jor though wounded would make a plea to the council to activate their secret weapon and with unanimous consent they obliged revealing kryptons ultimate weapon a bomb that would turn their sun yellow. Despite this great power allowing them to decimate the forces of apokolips, darksied and his servant Desaad had prepared for the powers of a Kryptonian and unleashed a radioactive weapon that damaged the solar cells of the kryptonians rendering them incapable of storing solar energy and removing their abilities. Afterwards his elite units triggered a chain reaction on the multiple phantom zone portal generators around krypton creating a singularity in the planets core that sucked the entire planet of krypton into the phantom Zone after imploding the planet and its denizens.

Meanwhile Kal Would succeed in finding General zod and lured him to a small world nearby where they would meet and “finish things”. Although zod came out of his stolen civilian class ship firing a weapon stolen from a soldier, Kal was able to activate the portable phantom Zone drive and trap zod However Darksieds plan had succeeded on krypton at that very moment and the portable Drive detonated releasing darksieds radioactive agent and stripping Kal of his cells ability to absorb solar radiation before he ever had powers gained from the Yellow stars. Fleeing to his ship he was able to spot the empty space where krypton once was and his knowledge as a scientist plus Apokolips leaving the area via boom tube shortly before allowed him to piece together the gist of what happened. Grieving and fearing the forces of darksied finding him he fled to earth a planet in the “boondocks” of the universe.

Kal arrived on earth when he was 26 years old and he has spent the past 30 years in his large and comfortable El family scientific research ship. While on earth he has met with very few individuals and none of them in his vessel. Various Stealth technologies keep his craft hidden and his rare intervention in the affairs of earth have kept his low profile. However he has not been idle in his three decades. He spent the first few years trying to find a way to get krypton out of the phantom zone. He built a Portal and Through genetic manipulation of his own cells he was able to alter his damaged solar cells to absorb Phantom radiation and maintain a physical form in the zone. He then lept into the phantom zone only to find his world was shattered beyond repair, and the only apparent survivor was Zod who used Kal to Escape the Phantom Zone. He would them destroy the phantom zone Portal generator and begin to use the codex he had stolen along with Kals vessel to try and turn earth into Krypton. Luckily he did not get far as Kal used his return portal trigger along with parts of an old portal generator from krypton to create a portal out of the pocket dimension where he was able to shut down Zods plan and using his powers and wits he was able to finally best him in battle bringing a permanent end to the wicked general. The remainder of his time on earth he has occasionally stopped an asteroid impact, or chased off a would be alien invader. He spent the majority of his time exploring the phantom zone and collecting what little remains of his culture but it was only recently that he began to consider having a more diplomatic relationship with the nations and kingdoms of earth.

Dislikes: Warlords on earth or among the stars, Darksied, Having to interact with the denizens of earth and knowing that he must.
Reputation: Very few in top secret positions of governments that have space programs know of What they have taken to calling “Sentinel Supreme.” Most are uncomfortable at best not knowing who or what he is.
Flaws:
He is painfully antisocial and prefers to not interact. That said the developing technology of earth paired with Atlantians & Amazons seeming to be aware of his presence he must. In addition to this he is a scientist even still and is not much of a warrior or diplomat.

Powers:

Super strength- Kal has displayed strength enough to shift tectonic plates and crack massive starships in half. Though he has found his strength to be rivaled by beings like the alien warlord Mongul, Or the Cosmic bounty hunter Lobo.

Super speed- Kal has shown himself capable of Feats of incredible speed rivaling hypersonic crafts. Within the atmosphere his speed seems to be limited by self imposed limiters via the crown he wears. In space these limits are removed and he can reach massively Ftl speeds allowing him to achieve intergalactic travel on his own.

Flight- Kal can fly both in atmospheric conditions, and in space.

Super breath- Kal can hold his breath for weeks at a time, or unleash hurricane force winds with a deep breath.

Frost breath- The breath of Kal can be focused in a way that it becomes capable of rapidly freezing a target in their tracks. He has been able to freeze lakes and repair ice in the Antarctic with this.

Heat vision- While he uses this primarily for welding it can be a potent beam that cuts in combat and even unleashed in wide blasts that can wipe squads of foes. This is his most draining ability and can weaken him considerably if he doesn’t limit these to short bursts.

Super hearing- Kal can hear a person shouting his name from any point in The world and if he listens hard enough he can even hear the core of the earth spinning.

X-ray vision- Kal can see through almost any substance except for lead and similarly dense or radiation proof materials.

Microscopic vision- Kal can see cells and even their smaller parts.

Telescopic vision- Kal can view the surface of the earth from space though it narrows his field of view considerably.

Invulnerability- While any amount of energy or force os sufficient force can damage kal he has been able to survive even contact with the sun despite him not absorbing power from it.

Weaknesses:
Magic- Kal’s invulnerability seems to not apply to magic and it can hurt him. Worse still his Phantom Cells use a strange energy closer to magic than to science allowing magic users to actually draw from him like a battery.

Combat adverse- Kal is no soldier, he prefers to tinker and explore. When combat does present itself he tends to pull his punches and will rarely ever resort to brawling preferring to use surroundings, his powers, and the right plan to take his victories. this results in his hand to hand combat severly lacking as he learned when lobo stomped him out, or when mongul beat him to a pulp.

Phantom Cells- Kal does not gain powers from the sun, nor would a blue sun power him, or a red sun weaken him. Instead his cells have been adapted first by Darksieds radioactive weapon, then later by himself to accommodate the phantom zone exploration. The later adaptations allowed him to reactivate the damaged Solar cells but with a change that only allowed them to feed from the Phantom zone itself. This Strange dimensional anomaly was not a process he could recreate as it was done by mistake. the culmination of all this was his powers stemming from the Phantom Zone Rather than from the sun. As such when his power begins to drain he has very few options to recharge.

Psychic Attacks- Telepathic abilities can severely mess with the Sentinel supreme as can certain kind altering chemicals.

Compared to The New 52 superman Kal is actually physically inferior, and though not by very much that is complicated further by his much lower stamina and easily destroyed power sources. He does however surpass most supermen in the category of intelligence.
