Journey Towards Forever IC RP

Columbus Ferren

After his odd and, admittedly embarrassing moment as he'd attempted to figure out language, Columbus stayed silent as he simply attempted to figure out what was going on in the conversation. It wasn't to difficult, and basically boiled down to the Gale guy before everyone offering answers as to where they were, as long as they all left the cave immediately (Which wasn't safe to be in for some reason). Though there were a few questions that Columbus still had, and even if they were stupid, he figured they were at the very least worth bringing up. Columbus raised his hand for a moments before speaking, "'Hey, um, hi!  Question before we head out with you, feel free to answer as we walk if you want, but uh...are we in America right now?"

After saying this, Columbus quickly went attempted to justify his question, "I know it's a weird question to ask and you said you'd answer us in a little bit! But maybe make an exception for this one question? It's a simple question, and well, you're all dressed really weirdly and were speaking different languages...I just want to know how much it's gonna cost me to get back home, because right now I only have..." Columbus pulled out the pockets of his sweats, watching as a single penny hit the cave floor, "Exactly one cent...well, I DID have one cent...anyways! It'd just be nice if you at least answered ONE of our questions, because we're REALLY confused right now. But I understand if you don't want to answer our questions yet! Just wondering if you maybe could...have I been talking to much? Should I shut up now? I think I'll do that if that's what you want. Okay, I'll shush starting right now! Done talking  now. "

Eisen and the rest exited the tomb and after the troops packed up the temp camp, they set off.  It wasn't until two days after traveling that the kids learned the building they'd found themselves in to be called The Tomb of Resentment.  Thankfully, the days spent on the travels to Eisen's camp(city) the weather had been relatively clear with little or no clouds.  After four days, the group encountered a beast of the undead type.  It's body was untouchable to physical attacks.

So those within Eisen's troops with holy magic stepped forward.  Their chance to shine was not wasted.  The group of ten that stepped up worked together effortlessly, each covering the other's weakness.  Two of the ten seemed to be paladin types and served as the thee vanguard types back up.  The other five all being mages fanned out so that they could cast spells from different directions while the beast was kept still.

With nothing else of importance popping up, the entirety of the remaining days traveling were peaceful.  Along the way, Gale and Tora would answer whatever question the kids asked when they saw plants, beasts and more that weren't found in their world.  After a total of six days, they could finally see the large gates that one would expect to see at a city.  But this one would lead into Eisen's camp which would be better described as a city given the size and number of people.

When the gates were opened, a  true scene of fantasy occurred.  Many people were lined along the streets calling out friendly greetings and various phases that equated to 'welcome home' from the younger children scattered throughout the crowds.  If nothing else, the people seemed to treat Eisen like a member of family.  Two small children pushed there way through the packed crowds to run up to Eisen's  horse.  Eisen responded with a genuine smile and scooped the two kids up onto her mount, letting ride with her.

It was at this time that Gale slowed his pace and lead the group found in the Tomb elsewhere.  The place he lead them to was building that would house the whole group.  This place Was Eisen's own home and they were to sleep in the empty rooms rather than having them lodge at an inn.

"well then, one final thing.  You all are free to roam around the camp.  But don't exit the gates without Eisen, Kise, Tora or myself accompanying you.  For various reasons, it would be bad for you all to meet people outside this camp and not know this world's common sense."

After Having cheerfully said that, Gale took his leave.  But he suddenly paused and told the group one more thing before leaving, "Eisen will find you kids later."

Ralph Grey and Veridius Wensylve
Collab wiff Shadowfall Shadowfall and Devious Dilbert Devious Dilbert

What a relief- Ralph was still just Ralph in whatever was thrown his way.

Veridius returned the gesture with a sneer. It was good to see that his old friend could be relied on.

"I don't know where or why-" Veri started to say, "-But plan A: I get you. I get Columbus. And we get out."

And Kayano? Well- I don't even know if that's her...

Before he could say any more, Blue woman spoke up, followed by Arm guy. He figured Ralph might be a little pissed at the fact that he'd be completely ignored by the quartet, but ehhh- Veri was just slightly pissed too.

"Oh hell nah..." He said after hearing Arm guy suggest that they go with him. This would just become draining at this point.

"Yeah no fuck that." He said after hearing that they would have to follow them, without showing a shred of respect. You get what you paid for with Ralph Gray, and seems like they left without paying the check. He was fuming at this point, but he though about what had triggered him. He was on the ground, he yelled, was ignored, then talked to Veri. Must be Veri then.

"WHO THE FUCK IS COLUMBUS?!"

"What? Don't worry about that! Are you gonna get out of here with me or not?!" He barked back in what was obviously meant to be whisper, but definitely wasn't.

Pausing, Ralph looked around. A few eyes drifted to Veri and him after the outburst.

"I, uh. Let's talk about this sometime else yeah?" He pulled Veri towards one of the corners of the room. He leaned himself against one of the walls, facing his friend. "We'll have to get outta funky town and split with these schmucks at some point. Let's just not do it now yeah? I'm sure they'll have free stuff to give us since they're so well equipped, yeah?" He said in a piercing whisper.

What happened to having places to be? Nah- He probably has a reason for the change of heart. I'll play along.

He just needed to trust him. So, that's what he did.

"I mean- I guess? Okay- I'll stick around..." Veri replied with a sigh. But then he realized his mistake- Oh... Yeah, I shouldn't have said that out loud?

But folding his arms, he asked, "So, you're okay with just obliging to their demands? We don't know these people. You have a plan or something?"

Veri hoped his friend wouldn't just drop an "Ah- We'll just go with the flow!" but it's not like he really knew what he was doing either-

"Surprisingly, I actually thought about this for more than five seconds this time, here's what we'll do." He glanced around. "What we do, so these guys live somewhere, right? So they'll lead us to like a place and say 'Go run around you assholes.' And while the rest of them scramble, we knock out a few guards, walk with the weirdos, steal all of their shit, sell it all on whatever black market or something and keep the best bits. We'll just stick around for now and watch the mannerisms and stuff and when we get dropped off we'll be able to fit in really easily." He snapped to emphasize his point.

Veri knew so much better than to start doubting Ralph now of all times.

"That sounds questionable- but fine. I'm in. You better know what you're doing though." Veri responded with a smirk. Surely, there wasn't a thing that could go wrong, yeah? If Ralph was prone to fucking up though, they wouldn't be here right now. Robbin' banks and successfully ain't no easy trick. So- that was something to put a little faith in. And that gave him more confidence in his situation.

Friends really did boost morale.

Veri looked past Ralph at the other kids, pondering what exactly they were thinking. The actors, and then Colombus. To his surprise, the dude was fine. No looking after needed. If this is all just turned out to be a cute prank though like he imagined, he'd continue to be fine, really.

"By the way, what the fuck do you think this is?"

"Pfft, probably a strange group of people hunting others for their strange fetishes? I mean, look at those clothes!" He nodded to the group that seemed more akin to what he would expect to see on the streets. "Yeah, the fantasy people are pretty weird too." He said with a flash of his teeth.

Ralph’s ears perked up as he heard the call of the captain for the soldiers to round up everyone and lead them out of the structure they were in. “Where do you think we’re going?”

“Uh…? I guess we’ll find out...?” Veri replied, unsure of what to expect next from the quartet.

And then they were off, to a land unknown, and what a sightseeing adventure was it. There was rolling hills, a dense forest full of strange creatures, and what really stuck out to Ralph was the sudden attack from the large undead creature. It was nothing like he had ever seen before. Large, pustulating, with various organs exposed the the bare elements. This didn’t get a gag out of him, but rather his intrigue. It was when the creature finally stepped forth to oppose the group was when he decided that he had enough of it.

Veridius, on the other hand, was so done with the whole place that he decided to just ignore everything that came at him. The mages took care of the disgusting beast, and that was that. Getting used to his new surroundings wasn’t exactly easy though, but after deciding to just follow whatever Ralph said, he was kinda just going with the flow. He’d take whatever came at him. If Eisen said she’d give him answers when they got to wherever they were going, then he’d get them then.

And where they arrived was a small city of sorts. Walls that rose only a few feet off the ground kept most intruders and animals out. The gate was guarded by a few more that seemed to be of the same type that was escorting them. Ralph and Veridius entered the city, disillusioned by the populace and quality of the camp from the illustrious city dreamed up by The Wizard of Oz, where the city streets were paved with gold, and everything was just loose enough to pry off. “Function has to compete with form” He sighed to himself, as he took in a panoramic view of the camp he figured the two of them would reside in for less than a week before they were exiled.

So, two days later, after following the strange people, and follow the two sisters did, Fidel became aware that where they had 'woken up', was called The Tomb of Resentment. Apparently, to these people... it was a magical thing that happened, and not some sort of... fantasy roleplaying thing they were doing, like Lys had claimed. Fidel was much more open-minded than her sister, but even she had initially struggled with the idea that they were in some sort of magic land.

It wasn't long until Fidel's ideas regarding that began to... shift away from Lys's and began to believe a bit more in it. This was the time, that some sort of... well it appeared to be undead monsters arose, and then the group around them began to fight them. Flinging what appeared to absolutely be magical spells. Fidel found this all so tough to deal with mentally. Coming to grips with the fact that they were, indeed, in a magical world, was... as scary as it was thrilling. It may have been tough to believe, but Fidel still found it utterly fascinating, and through the entire way, opened her eyes wider, so that she may observe every little detail about this... 'world' if it was such a new place.

Lys was not so easily convinced, even when watching the magical scene of battle with what appeared to be grotesque, horrifying undead monsters. She remained as pessimistic and offputting as ever. Whenever Fidel would try to converse with her about the stuff, the short girl would grumble some obscenities, fold her arms, and make it very abundantly clear that she did not want to talk about it. She just didn't want to broach the subject about magic and a new world, and this new fantasy landscape that they all had been thrown in.

When they got to the place they were going, some sort of city as a destination, Lys continued to remain obstinate. Fidel, instead, would begin to embrace it all. "Awwww!" Fidel purred, watching the little kids come up to the lady that had been leading them the entire time. "So sweet! Isn't it Lys? Look how cool this place looks, too! It's amazing! Nothing like this is back on 'our world', right, Lys? Huh?" She continued to hammer it in, nudging her younger sister.

"Pft. Whatevs. Ugh, stop that. Stop it, Fidel. QUIT IT." Lys remained abrasive, refusing to believe her very eyes.

"Well, then, I may be coming to you relatively soon, Gale!" Fidel chirped out to him. "I want to explore more of the surrounding lands, it was all so beautiful! I also may need a city guide... Hehe," the elder sister warmly spoke, being as friendly and open as ever. She regarded his closing statement with some intrigue, wondering what Eisen wanted with them all.

Dezien Romaire
"Captain's call" signaled the group to leave, and soon the children were out of the tomb and on their way to wherever the strangers wanted them to be.

Little Dezien was still perturbed from his rude awakening. So, Little Dezien kept as far as he could from the main group, as far as the perimeter of guards would allow him to stray. Not only did the isolation calm his nerves, but it also gave him the time that he craved to collect his thoughts and form an opinion on his situation. And what does he think?
I'M FUCKING DONE.

As the children trekked onward through passing days, obediently to the command of Eisen and her posse, he began to slowly accept that things weren't in his hands. And it was this acceptance of fact that slightly shifted around his mindset. What does he think now?
How long til we get there, fucking hell?!

But before the cynical brat could start theorizing of exactly what kind of camp the kids would be transported to, out jumped a horrific beast that had to be hosed down by holy beams before the unit could continue on their way. And yet again, Little Dezien could just not comprehend such insanity. "What kind of shit show was this?!" entered his mind quite frequently after the event. And it only encouraged Dezien to further detach and seclude himself from the others.
How could they all be taking this so calmly? Am I the weird one? -Crept into his mind just as intrusively.

Soon, to Dezien's relief, the group made it to their location. "Camp" was inaccurate, he thought. This "Camp" was nothing less than a small city. But it was a load better than the image of camp that he had in mind, with the gas chambers and such. Gale, the guy with the... arm, then told the children that they were free for the time being. Oh, yes. Much better.

The city was an impressive sight, he had to admit. It looked ancient, but a specific time period wouldn't pop into his head. Everything looked olden, but there were... things just kinda off about the place. Was it possible that Dezien was somehow dropped into some forgotten time in history? Naaahhh- that's pretty dumb.

He wanted to leave, but it looked like he would be under surveillance til' Eisen or her lackeys would come back. Not worth a shot to escape out of this one, he guessed...

But wait a second, all this time, he'd been traveling with Fidel and her sister.
Wait, was he?
Looking back, she was definitely in his memories, both at the tomb and in the past x amount of days. Was he that oblivious to what was going on around him?

Striding straight up to the two girls, he hoped for answers to his endless list of questions.
The first one was,
"...Fidel?"

Gwendolyn Solberg
---------------------------------
The days following the Tomb incident wasn’t too bad in her opinion (after she got over her initial panic). Yes, the company could’ve been better. Yes, there could’ve been WiFi and a cell phone signal. There could’ve been a lot of things that Gwen would have really really liked (i.e. a shower). But not everyone gets to be dumped in a random (and dangerous) world with zombies and magic with two (eccentric but good) friends on their side. So, yes, things could’ve been better but she’d like to keep the few blessings that she’s been given in this situation.

She does have to admit, past the frightening unknown part of this situation, the whole world with magic part of this whole fiasco is very appealing to her.

But she could do without the whole “stop my eccentric friends from doing stupid things” thing. And she could do without being the oldest of their little...tourist group? They’re cute and nice in their own way but--

“OH MY GOD. JUST SHUT UP!”

...She could do without the screaming and yelling.

---------------------------------

After Gale(?) left them to their own devices with a warning to not leave the camp (that was apparently not a town), Gwen immediately turned to her friends to make sure they didn’t disappear on her to jump in a random body of water or chase after a butterfly. Safety aside, she really did want to see if she could find something that’s like this world’s Magic for Dummies. Maybe a guitar along the way. Or a lute?

(A shower would be nice too. But she might actually have to follow Hakuo’s usual odd ways and just jump into a pond in this case.)

But most important of all, as in all beginner tutorial quests, they needed to find a map.

"Hey, Hakuo? Hideaki? Maybe we should look for a map of this...camp? So we don’t get lost, I mean," she asked quietly, nudging the two discreetly with her shoulder. She just really...did not want to dragged into a huge group at the moment.

The others weren’t bad people at all. They were just a bit too...overwhelming for her to explore with them comfortably. She was perfectly fine with partying up with randoms. But that was in games and this was…real. Without a logout button for her to take advantage of if things got too frustrating for her to continue with an even temper. And as much as she would like to calm and fool herself with gaming jargon in this strange world…

This world was unfortunately not a game.

Location Eisen’s house, Camp

Status Willing to explore with friends...as long as they find a map.

A/N “OH MY GOD. JUST SHUT UP!” could have said by anyone during the travels. It’s a common phrase and I just wanted address Gwen’s feelings about being in this group. At least she thinks they’re cute in their own way. Just loud. Lmao. And sorry it got dark v quick. oops

Hakuo Takehaya

After a not-so-optional unanimous choice to follow the legion of...NPCs, their much more ordinary group of mundane humans soon embarked on a week long trek to some camp that the NPCs mentioned several times along the way. The journey itself wasn't too bad. However, Hakuo still couldn't help but wilt by the 2nd day of not having had access to a shower. As someone who practically lived and thrived in water—although the same couldn't be said for his virtually nonexistent skill in swimming—being dirty or dry like a raisin was almost a death sentence.

Luckily, the mind was a very fickle thing and there were enough strange things to keep his mind off of his bathing issues. Additionally, he at least had two of his friends by his side, good friends who made sure he didn't wander off while following some strange insect that had happened to catch his eye, so that was another thing to appreciate. Of course, part of his ability to take everything into stride was also attributed to his peculiar way of thinking. For instance, his first thought when an army of undead monsters surfaced was simply, "Oh, they're uglier than that creepy naked cupid of a boss from our game!" which wasn't quite the appropriate reaction from a human from his world, perhaps, but at least it saved him the effort of screaming his head off at the sudden appearance of monsters? Besides, it wasn't like he was the one doing the fighting.

When finally left to their own devices at the camp, Hakuo was ready to go on the hunt for the nearest fountain or (preferably) a lake, but was promptly halted by Gwen's suggestion to go look for a map of the camp. Thinking it through for only a few seconds, the teal-haired boy quickly came to the conclusion that looking for both at the same time wouldn't be too bad of an idea.

"You're beginning to sound like one of those 1st town NPCs," Hakuo said with a slightly perturbed expression on his face. However, a quest was a quest, and this was one at least one that he appreciated more than the typical endless grind. Without really waiting for a response from either Hideaki or Gwen, the boy quickly turned himself around and began walking in any random direction, trusting his intuition over any form of logic. The sooner he found one of the things he was looking for, the better.

Maybe he'd even find something nice to eat along the way.

Kayano felt a headache incoming, everyone around her seemed to know each other one way or another, she had woken up in an almost impossible situation, on the stone cold floor in a room with a bunch of people around her age. People she assumed to be cosplayers were scattered about, speaking about languages, and things she didn't understand.

Honestly, she couldn't comprehend anything.

She should be able to adapt to this environment, like she has many other times in many other places, but all she wanted was to go home. She was to start a new- or old school, she had gone there once before, she wasn't sure how long, but had moved afterwards. She was looking forward to see if anyone she knew had still gone there, but that was clearly out of the question now.

Either way, the people were holding weapons, and believe it or not, Kayanos goal wasn't to die today, so she followed them. Along the trip she learned many things, the place she had woken up in was called The Tomb of Resentment, and the place was supposedly full of magic, Kayano didn't doubt that the supernatural had lived alongside humans, but she found her whole situation too movie-cliche to exactly believe it. But, her mind suddenly changed when the undead came to life and she witnessed a group of the probably-not-cosplayers defeat them. And Kayano totally enjoyed that show, but honestly, hadn't been able to process anything.

In her opinion, not much had happened on the trip, she had pitched in on a few conversations she had overheard, but overall hadn't really made a friend on the journey, and that basically lowered her mood by a ton. The only thing that interested her other than this strange new world was one guy that looked strangely familiar, and she could almost put a name on it. Der... something? Z something? God, get better memory Kayano.

One things for sure, Kayano absolutely loved the city. All of the people wearing exotic clothes that basically shouted their personality, it was way different from her world, and she liked it that way, new things were always a sight to behold.

As she browsed the city, her eyes landed on the familiar figure she had pondered over before, it was more than likely people had said his name around her, but she was too engrossed in other things to hear it. But she felt she was getting close, snapping her fingers for a few seconds it finally came to her.

"VERIDIUS!" she shouted a little too loudly, not that she cared.

Okay, well, it seemed there'd be time to explore the surrounding lands of this 'fantasy land' at a later time, Gale roamed off, with obvious other things to do. That was quite alright. Fidel couldn't expect him to just toss away all his responsibilities to acquiesce to her random ideas. Besides, there was a whole new land just before her to explore! This camp-city-fantasy place right here! Her eyes darted all over the place, taking in any fantastical sight she could. Again, just as Lys had stated, this seemed like some sort of advanced roleplaying larping thing going on, but the battle with the undead that happened before made her believe that that possibly was not the case. Indeed, it seemed far more fantastical and mystical than one could possible believe.

"Ah! H-huh? O~oh! D.. De.. Dezien, was it?" the friendly girl asked, tilting her head. A boy placed himself before Lys's and her path. Smiling warmly up at him, she teetered on her heels and toes, hands clasped coyly behind her back. "I know your sisters's quite well, but I don't think we've talked much..."

Lys glanced up at the man, and rolled her eyes. Fidel was flirting with him? Or was the pigtailed girl mistaken? No, probably just her sister being sickeningly sweet -as always. "Ugh, blech," she grunted, sticking out her tongue, and forming a thumbs-down. "Gross. Later losers," she growled, pushing passed Fidel and the weird guy.

"Lys! Wait! Gr.." Fidel gasped out, stepping forward, reaching out. It was too late, Lys had already moved off into the city beyond.

Although he still had his reservations, it became clear to Columbus that it was best he and everyone in else had no idea where they were, and their best bet was with the strangers before them. So, the teen stepped out of the Tomb of Razzle Frazzle or whatever it was called (He hadn't been paying much attention to the name if he was being honest) and started to head out with everyone else.

At first, the two-day trip was actually really cool!

The landscapes were beautiful, and there were so many questions on Columbus' mind to keep him occupied, and on top of all of that, there was no school to worry about for the foreseeable future! For about four hours it was pure heaven to think about, and despite the odd situation Columbus found himself in, he actually seemed to be enjoying himself...at least for the first four hours. After that boredom began to set in, and when he reached for his phone to put on some music or something, he remembered that he didn't have his phone, nor did he have any immediate access to ANY sort of internet!

That was when the two-day trip turned really boring.

There was hardly any sort of thing to do beyond talk to everyone in the group, but after the first few minutes of talking those talks always turned awkward, and god forbid Columbus dare attempt to talk to any of their escorts, those guys were scary! The only interesting thing that really happened was when a dead thing attacked them, and even then that was stopped in like ten minutes tops. To make matters even worse, they had to bathe in lakes without any privacy, and Columbus didn't even have anything to change into because he wasn't excepting to go traveling when he went to sleep, and-!

Safe to say that despite his smiles, Columbus wasn't having the best of times on this journey.

Thus, when they were still walking, Columbus found himself half-asleep and silently repeating, "Are we there yet?" over and over again. It wasn't until he realized that they were, in fact, there yet that he shut up for a second to look at the camp-well, it was more like a city. "Man, if your camps are like these, your cities must be like countries..." Columbus looked around with wide eyes at the city, trying to think of what to do now that they were told they could do whatever they wanted, 'I guess I could go try to find some food or something, but I don't have any money on me! Unless they accept pocket lint as money in this place, in which case I'd be richer than a king! Oh maybe I should ask that Eisen lady if they use pocket lint as money, but she might be busy and I don't want to bother her. Oh man, what to d-"

"VERIDIUS!"

Colubmus was taken from his thoughts as he heard Veridius' name called out by someone, and he swung his head in confusion. Sure enough, there was his friend, being flanked by a guy who seemed to be from the same place as him given their clothes. A wide smile crept onto Columbus' face, and he dashed forward, stopping just before VeridIus and nearly tackling the teen, "OH GOSH VERIDIUS I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW YOU WHERE HERE, HOW DID I NOT SEE YOU?! These past few days have been weird and everybody is weird and I hated it and thought I was gonna have to go further into town alone and with no internet but then some lady over there shouted your name and then I noticed you and the guy next to you and-" Columbus stopped talking to take a deep breath, having run out from talking so quickly and for so long without breathing. After about three seconds he got up and simply said, "I've had nothing to do for the past two days! Anyways, how are you, and who's this guy?"

Dezien Romaire
"So, it really is...?" The boy questioned. Something told him not to believe it. It was his deep cynical self trying to slap him awake, but Dezien wasn't one to ignore the facts when he saw em'. Right? The damn girl had just said it! This is Fidel! Really!

"Gross. Later losers," Her younger sister said- ah that's right, she definitely had a little sis... The tiny but rude girl pushed past him and for a sliver of a second he wanted to say something nasty to her, but he remembered that she's treated him worse before. Probably... And it also wasn't as important at the moment. He gave her a bitter look as she sprinted off to get lost in the crowds.
"I see Lys is as lively as ever..." He stated, filled to the brim with sarcasm. Yeah, this felt about right. No doubt it was really them in the flesh.
At the mention of his sisters, a realization had dawned on him.
Where are they? Is it possible that they're here, but just not with our group? ...Are they safe? Our own journey here wasn't exactly... easy.

Judging by Fidel's words, he could assume that she hasn't run into them. Well- of course she hadn't. If he would have opened his eyes, he would have realized that he was with Fidel and Lys. But the fact that Fidel wasn't separated from her sibling- What did it mean? Answers would come later... That's what he expected, but frankly- fuck that. Nope- Dezien's curiosity was only growing and it was only a matter of time til' he did some of his own personal investigating.

But how should he go about bringing this up to Fidel? She seemed a bit more at ease with being held captive than he was. He could guess that she was just about as clueless as he was though. Her sister too, likely.
Oh, shit- her sister-
"It is okay for your sister to just run off like that? She's kinda... known to cause trouble. Alize told me that..."

Again, there was more than just one mystery here to be solved. "Why were they here", "How did they get here", "Are there more lost children", "And how do we get back?" All were questions that Dezien damn well needed answered. And soon if anybody wanted to have a good time.
But... at least somebody he was familiar with was thrown into the unfortunate mix alongside him.

"You know, I don't think we've talked at all really... And yes- I am Dezien. I apologize for doubting who you were, I just... you know, find it hard to believe that I've been seeing..."

Hideaki Hoshiko
The few days after exiting the tomb was spent walking in mostly one direction. These days were spent slowly and boringly, granting Hideaki enough time to properly reflect on the situation he was put inside. After the first day, he had realized this was not a dream. After the second day, he had come to the conclusion that food home is much better than food here, and during the fourth day...it was spent watching their escorts' cool attack moves. Though after the fifth day, even Hideaki's seemingly never-ending stamina began to run dry.

Every step the boy made felt as if he was going to collapse to a point where even a good night's rest was not an effective remedy. While he had the physique to romp around on local streets without a care in the world, Hideaki sadly did not bear the stamina to carry himself through a six-day hike. However, sixth day felt even slower than the fifth.

Amongst the others who were still full of life, Hideaki felt extremely dead inside. He had the walk of a zombie, and due to his lack of energy, the group might have come to the camp one or two hours later than expected if not for one stoic soul. Two hours into the sixth day's hike Hideaki requested a piggyback-ride from Gwen. A rather strange request to coming from someone such as Hideaki, Gwen accepted nonetheless. Thus, the group went on with their normal pace, avoiding any slowness that may have been caused.

~

"Well then, one final thing. You all are free to roam around the camp. But don't exit the gates without Eisen, Kise, Tora or myself accompanying you. For various reasons, it would be bad for you all to meet people outside this camp and not know this world's common sense."

"Got it!" Hideaki replied, a quick nod coming soon. Any lost energy Hideaki spent throughout these past six days was sucked back into the boy's body once entering the camp. Be it magic, excitement that this hell is partially over, or that he needn't sleep in a bed roll anymore, Hideaki had returned to his formal and normal state.

Shortly after the fantasy groups' departure, Gwen suggested to look for a map of sorts. Hideaki gave an affirmative nod while Hakuo...presumably nodded.

"You're beginning to sound like one of those 1st town NPCs,"

"First town? Hmph..." Hideaki paused for a moment, "If this is the first town... Oh! There must be somewhere or someone to get our starter gear from, right?"

Hideaki's head turned towards Gwen for an answer first, as she was their wise elder before turning towards what would have been Hakuo's location. "Hakuo...?" Hideaki questioned with no obvious effect. Hearing a soft click of a door closing, the boy followed the noise. Rushing towards the outside world, once he set foot outside, Hideaki had discovered Hakuo walking to an unknown direction.

"Hakuo! Wait for us!" Hideaki called out, reaching behind him in a short jog.

At the rather disturbing observation made by Hakuo, Gwen couldn’t help but let out an indignant (and rude) squawk. She did not sound like a first town NPC. NPC’s made you run errands all over town for them for their own benefit. Finding a map was for their sake...not an NPC’s need for sparkling pickled peach jam (which she still didn’t understand what it exactly was). Instead of voicing her protests however, she just grumbled about very rude friends and starter gear not being something that translated into real life.

By the time she turned her attention back to her two friends, Hakuo and Hideaki were already out the door and on their way to who knows where.

"Hakuo! You can’t afford to get lost here! There’s no navigation pointer to show you the way back!" Gwen yelped at her blue-haired friend as she ran out of the house to catch up with the two who went ahead. They really couldn’t afford to get lost via Hakuo’s aimless wandering this time. What if they ended up in some ancient restricted area that they shouldn’t be in? Honestly, knowing their luck they probably would because the world seems to be very spiteful towards them lately…

Gurgle, gurgle.

"...We should probably find food too..."

Because how would they even find a map if they were going to drop dead due to starvation.

Shortly after Gale had left behind the children at Eisen's home to do as they (mostly) wanted. Kise, Eisen and Tora had all gone through the motions of greeting the residents and children of the camp and now stood gathered in building which served as a town hall. Currently, Eisen held a frighteningly scary expression on her face. The likes of which could (probably) make even undead-type monsters runaway in fear. Kise and even the normally 'calm-through-everything' Tora both had similar expressions of seriousness.

The reason for such a heavy atmosphere was quite literally laying in front of the three. In the form of heads bisected from their bodies. The headless bodies were nowhere to be seen as of yet and the severed heads had seemingly been purposefully placed so that one of Eisen's group would find them. The most saddening of which was that heads were from a single family.

The left most head was that of a 40 year old male, the father, Nicolas. The right most head was of a similarly aged female, the wife, Sarah. And finally.. Their daughter, Camellia's head, sat between the other two. The reasoning as to way this familly was killed out of any other was unknown and assumed to have just been chosen at random. Tora, Eisen and even Kise, who normally wouldn't bat an eye towards death, were all locked in silence.

---------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Gale was standing outside the town hall after he'd left the group of kids over an hour ago. Call it a 6th sense or intuition, but he had felt a certain reluctance to enter the building that leaked a heavy air around it. Being the lax joker he was, Gale just hoped Eisen wasn't pissed at him... again.

[ This. is. impossible. ] Koma desperately clung onto that one thought within her mind. Yes, she too, like the rest of the group, had seen the monsters and the fight with magic over the 2-day journey. But even faced with those facts first-hand. Koma's logical mind still couldn't accept it. Ironic? Yes, definitely.

Being the sort she was, one would think someone like Koma would've been happy or excited. Since most her daydreams, played games and interests delved into the fantasy genre. But, suddenly being faced with it... no one would accept such a thing easily.. right?

With the omission of organizing her thoughts and feelings about the short travels from what that woman, Eisen, said was called a tomb. Koma now found herself standing off on her own while she watched the group start to go off on their own after Gale left them. While her mind was in chaos with various such thoughts, her outward appearance was vastly different. Koma's eyes had taken on an unreadable and blank stare. Her facial features had hardened and contributed to the oppressing 'hard-to approach' aura oozing from her entire being.

Veridius Wensylve, Kayano Jaxson, Colombus Ferren, & Ralph Grey
(In collaboration with lyn. lyn. , Loony_Bin Loony_Bin , & Shadowfall Shadowfall . Btw, Exiled, idk if you read, but we figured it was getting long so we just decided to post it.)

Upon hearing his name, Veridius snapped around to see a girl spontaneously call him. Not somebody he’s seen before, but not just a random girl though-
Ah- No, it made sense why he experienced such a strong deja vu moment earlier in their journey here. It’s Kayano! And it’s been a full six months since he’s seen her! What good times they had in the past…

But just as the named popped into place, another familiar face slid into view. Colombus- and almost charging full speed into him too. Out of instinct, Veridius put his hands up and took a careful step back before realizing who it was.
Oh- that’s right! He was here too! As he remembered, he was supposed to let Columbus in on him and Ralph’s plan to escape. That didn’t quite play out though. He kinda’ felt bad for almost basically ignoring him these past few days...
“Oh- shit! Columbus! I was supposed to get you and go! Shit-” Veridius responded to the boy’s outburst with a pleased smile.”I was with Ralph the whole time-” And saying that, he moved aside, introducing his friend to his other friend. “And by the way, this is him.”
Ecstatically, he asked the boy, “What were you doing?”

Columbus still had his hands on his knees, breathing in deeply as he continued to recover from his tirade, though once Veridius asked what he’d been doing, he froze up a bit, “I’ve been doing nothing, and that’s the problem! I haven’t been able to shower, there’s no video games to play, and we didn’t even have freaking beds! We slept on the floor!”
The boy took a deep breath and his usual smile returned to his face, “But it’s alright now though, because that’s behind us and we’re here! And I found you here! You and...Ralph is your name, right? You and Ralph!”
Columbus turned around and cupped his hands together, “THANKS LADY WHO SHOUTED OUT VERIDIUS’! YOU HELPED OUT A BUNCH!”

“Who the fuck are you people and how the fuck do you know Veridius?” Ralph inquired. Strange, to see other people try and take his friend from him. Confused as to why, and how they got here, as he didn’t see them in the tomb, but he didn’t really pay much attention to anyone in the cave really, except for that little shit rat thing. Its colors irritated his eyes.
Finally brought to the attention of the boy in front of him. He heard Veri mention his name as ‘Columbus’. Must be better at exploring than he is then.
“Uh, my name is Grey. Ralph Grey.”

Kayano flinched as Columbus- I think that was his name-- shouted at her, she wasn’t that far away. “Er… you’re welcome..? I guess?” She said raising her voice slightly. She began to recall now why Veridius seemed so familiar, the school she was about to start she had gone to for some time, guess it makes sense now why he looked so damn familiar. As she debated whether or not to leave, she changed her mind once Ralph- again, I think-- asked why she knew Veridius. Actually, she was assuming he was asking her, he did say ‘you people’.
Well, it wouldn’t hurt to check.
“Are you asking me?”
“I don’t fucking know, does it look like i’m asking you?”
He gave Veridius a eyeroll, as if saying ‘you’ve got to be kidding me.’ Before returning his attention to GenericGirl#87. He offered a handshake. “Ralph.” Veridius looked at his friend, then at Kayano sympathetically.
“Well someone's got a temper.” Kayano muttered under her breath, not caring whether or not he heard. She put on a smile and shook his hand, “Kayano.” She said, slightly confused.

“Uhhh- okay, now that we all know each other-” Veridius spoke up, unsure of how to move their introduction along, but not brush off the fact that he had just reunited with a past friend that left him with joyful memories. Inching a little closer to Ralph, he tried whispering so that only the other boy would hear him. “You don’t have to be hostile with her- I know her…” After trying to be subtle about it, he continued to speak to all of them, “Well- it’s a damn coincidence that we all ended up here together. Kind of a godsend though. You and I’ve got some catching up to do, yeah?” He said, referring to the girl that he just remet.

“Being mean is my forte.” he whispered out the side of his mouth. Seeing that he probably would be in for a long catching up speech from the both of them, Ralph decided, fuck it, i’m going to go fuck off probably, and see what happens. Without a word, he backed away, turned around, and left. No money in his pockets, but a pack of cigs, a lighter, and his wallet. He doubted the last one would do anything, but he bet that somebody might want fire whenever they wanted it. He ventured off to a squat bunker looking thing, He entered, seeing the walls lined with weapons and pieces of armor.
“What do you need kid?” he heard from the back of the shop.
“Just looking for something to defend myself with really. Anything.”
“Oh, are you a new resident?”
“Sure.”
“I’ve got a few things for you then. How skilled are you in swordplay?”
“Does waving sticks around as a child count?”
“Not when your life depends on it no. I’ve got the thing.” The smith rummaged through a few things behind the counter, before pulling out a claymore. “How’s this?”
“What is that?”
“A broadsword.”
“Huh.” Can’t believe they have those around here he thought.
“How much are you selling it for?”
“I know you outsiders have weird knick-knacks, so i’ll chance you and trade this for something you have.”
“Uh… I have a lighter?”
“Boring, i’ve got plenty of pyromancers around here to light my forge.”
“Cigarettes?”
“What?”
“Little things that you suck on.” He pulled on out from the pack, and brought it to the man’s lips, bringing the lighter closer and lighting it for him. The man snorted, but sucked on it happily.
“Do you have any more of these?”
“Yeah.”
“Look kid, i’ll give you one of these, a scabbard, and a bit of leather for the rest of those you have.”
“Alright,” Handing over the rest of his cigs, the shopkeeper, with cigarette puffing smoke from his mouth, brought forth a claymore with scabbard, and a leather chestplate. “good doing business with you.” He coughed, and waved him off. Ralph took off his sweater, and strapped on the leather armor. It wasn’t much, but it was better than nothing. He zipped up his sweater again, and put the scabbard for his sword onto his belt. Sick. He hung outside of the armory after that, watching Veridius, Kayran Master Race and Lief Eriksson talk about whatever the fuck. Ralph didn’t care all too much. Conversation wasn’t his thing, and usually when he did open his mouth, he was bound to say “FUCKSHITCRAPDICKPICKLE.”

Meanwhile-
Veridius noticed a certain someone wasn’t by his side anymore about a quarter of an hour ago- but oh well. He tended to do that. He’d come back whenever he wanted to. Veri just hoped that he wouldn’t miss out on too much while him and Ralph split.
“You remember that?! Ah- man, that was really something... You know, you missed a lot when you moved,” Veri laughed, with genuine smiles, as he spoke to Kayano. And Columbus was with them too as the three walked through the camp, passing plethoras of vendors and stalls selling weird stuff as they headed off to nowhere in particular. It might have been awkward for Colombus though, Veri thought, since Kayano and him didn’t really know each other. And- since when was Veridius so popular?! But- he was glad that he had a couple of people he could trust with him- people who were just as equally lost.

Kayano scanned the camp as they walked, she was listening to Veridius, sure, but her attention kept getting drawn elsewhere to the various things they passed beyond the way, to the booths selling various items she couldn’t name and seeing culture she couldn’t even pronounce. She wasn’t sure whether or not Veridius noticed her lack of attention, because he kept rambling on and on, and usually she was the talker. It was an odd change of pace. Eventually she turned her attention back on him and the guy named Columbus who had stayed quiet the whole time, nodding along to what Veridius said as a smile formed on her face.

“...So, how have you been?” he asked, unsure of what to say to a silent Kayano. He guessed time really did mess with their friendship. But he was determined to make it work.
“Huh- oh yeah, I’m fine. Ya’ know after I moved I finally settled down for a couple years.” She said, she never really spoke about herself, not finding much about her life interesting, besides, people always pitied her when they found out about her previous situations, it got old fast. “Oh- It’s actually kind of convenient that we met, I was actually set to start the same school you were in a couple days ago- until this happened…” she trailed off.
“What? Really?” He started, “Oh shit- then… yeah, that is kinda lame how this happened.” There was a bright side though to their situation, wasn’t there? “But, on the bright side, the pay-off on coming here has been pretty good. Look at this place we’re in. Like a dream. I’m not gonna lie- it might turn out to be alright.”
The hard shift from reality to quite literally fantasy had already passed for Veridius. So far, nothing terrible’s happened yet to have left a negative impression on him. The concept of it was still a bit alien, understandably, even more so since he was living it. And it was likely the same for the others as well. But being the type to go with the flow, made him pretty chill with his surroundings for now.
Kayano paused, her lips pressing into a thin line before she spoke again, “I guess you’re right.” she said.

As the trio walked through the town, they came closer to regrouping with Ralph.
Ralph almost fell asleep on the wall he was leaning on. Almost. Fucking tired of this shitty waiting around for nothing game, he pushed himself off the wall to find something to do. Veridius, Leif and Kenya were still talking, so he bumped into Veridius.
“Wanna go do something fun?” He asked, a clear malicious glint in his eyes.

Columbus walked with Veridius and Kayano in what was almost complete silence, at some point getting so invested in the two’s conversation that he just shut his mouth for the first time in a very long time. This, however, did not last very long past Ralph rejoining the group of three, as Columbus yelled out less than three seconds after the words, ‘Wanna do something fun?’ left Ralph’s mouth, “Why would you ever need to ask if someone wanted to do something fun! Of COURSE we do! What kind of fun do you want to have and where can we get into it?!”
“Sure- what do you have in mind?” Veridius asked after Columbus spoke.

“Fucking, let’s go into a bar, see what happens?” He gestured towards a nearby tavern, which seemed to have more than enough disgruntled patrons walking in and out of it. “Yeah, this oughta be fun.” he said to himself as he began to saunter towards the bar, full of himself. He entered the tavern, and sat down at the bar. He saved a few seats for the others, and ordered himself a tall glass of… Whatever that hell that purple drink with the fizzy thingy is.
