Nestled away in the suburbs of Tokyo lies Jindai High School, your run of the mill high school where young pupils go about their days, studying, flirting, possibly getting into trouble. The uh School is your oyster in this case...

There isn't really much to this, just your standard slice of life, school anime about high school shenanigans. Be whoever you want to be (Within reason) from the ever-popular student council president who totally doesn't have ties to the yakuza, to that one background character that gets horribly animated and is left to the annals of history.​

Monday, April 6th, 20XX

It was a clear and cool April morning, the temperature was just perfect not too hot and not too cold. Students were making their way towards Jindai High School with an eager glint in their eyes. Some upperclassmen were already walking with their friend groups, fresh off of their two-week spring break, ready for another school year. While wide-eyed 1st years were just beginning their high School life. Jindai High was your average School in Tokyo, though it did take pride in the number of foreign students attending, as well as its sports teams. This was the beginning of another average year, except for a certain group of kids...

Nagano Mitsuoki & Yamakawa Leo

"Ya know Mitsu-Chan, you should really let me cut your hair," The blonde student said as he circled around his taller dark-haired friend as the two walked towards Jindai. Mitsu let out a disappointed sigh, "How many times do I have to tell you, stop calling me that" Mitsu was in his usual attire, hair down, glasses on, he looked gloomy and as nerdy as he could be. Though that didn't really help when the ever-popular heartthrob known as Yamakaw Leo was always stuck to his side. "C'mon man don't dodge my question, you can't keep that handsome face hidden away forever" Leo laughed, quickly executing a sneak attack on his friend from behind, pulling his hair back to reveal his face to the world.

In retaliation, Mitsu quickly shoved his elbow back where it found its home in Leo's rib. While it wasn't a hard hit the weaker Leo felt the blow, "Ah, you make a good argument," The blonde said, rubbing his side. With a flushed face, Mitsu fixed his hair, "You already know I like it this way," he chided his friend. Like was an odd way to put it while it did help Mitsu keep a "Low profile" it did get in the way a lot, especially when playing sports.

"Seriously man you're so uptight, we need to get you a girl," Leo went on, skipping in front of his friend before bending down like some kind of Shakespearian actor, "I'm certain there's a fair maiden out there for you, just waiting for a dashing young man with long beautiful hair to sweep her off her feet," he continued putting his full skills as an actor on display. A few other students who were passing by gave a little laugh to Leo's performance. He was already well known for acts like this, his happy and energetic attitude and looks always made him popular with the fairer sex.

"You're an idiot," Mitsu bluntly replied, walking past his friend as he put on such a heart-stopping performance. Though the blonde shot him a smug smirk, "Oh really, then who got higher marks on last years exams?" he fired back, fully knowing that he had Mitsu beat in the academic field. "Shut up," Mitsu said, knowing that he had just been beaten.

Feeling a sense of accomplishment the blonde hopped back up and walked side by side his friend as they approached Jindai's front gate.

Himari let out a sigh as she scanned the line up of variously branded drinks in front of her. Now, what would it be for this morning? She had already gotten the peach drink yesterday and the green tea the day before. She brought a finger to her chin in thought, her blue grey gaze impassively empty while staring at the vending machine.

While many high school students took advantage of their spring break to sleep in and relax, this early morning routine was not out of practice for her. Out of necessity to pay for another extracurricular photography class, Himari had asked her boss to schedule her for more hours than usual to help cover the costs. As exhausting as it was, she picked up several morning shifts to help with inventory and daily cleaning.

A bold green packaging caught Himari’s eyes, and she decided to go with it. The heavy thud of the drink falling through the interior of the machine was sharp in the morning air. She picked up the cold carton and looked it over. A kiwi yogurt drink, interesting.

Himari turned away from the vending machine and began her walk to school. The sound of her feet hitting the pavement was slow, methodic, disinteresting. What was interesting was the sweet yet refreshing taste of the yogurt drink, something she’d definitely have to get again. She hummed to the music playing in her earphones lightly while walking.

A fresh morning breeze threw the excitable cherry blossoms around her into a delicate dance, almost resembling the weightless drift of snow. She smiled slightly. Himari was always content with this stretch of her journey towards school. She had found an alternate path from the train station through a small neighborhood close to the school. It was quieter and more scenic than the more direct path that most of the students took, which is why she always opted to take it. It was a low energy way to start her daily routine.

The drink machine she frequented was close to the end of that path, and before long, she was once again rejoined with the various students meandering along to school and the antics that usually followed them.

Himari gazed inquisitively at a scene between two male students as they bantered back and forth. She recognized the blonde one; he had always been the popular topic between her female classmates the year before. They must be second years like herself.

She brought her gaze down to the drink in her hand, not wanting to appear nosy. As the large gates of Jindai High appeared before her, she had an important decision to make. It was time to decide what she was going to eat for her morning snack.

Gabriel walked with purpose, occasionally glancing at a school pamphlet in his hands. He adjusted one of his backpack’s straps, and noticed the two bickering students ahead of him.

Ordinarily, he’d just ignore them. But his aunt had suggested talking to people more often, so he decided to say hello. A few fast steps brought him to their side.

“Hello, guys. I’m Gabriel, how are you?” He shot them a smile, in an attempt to look friendly.

Chisuke sighed as he approached the school gates of Jindal. This was it, one last year of forced interaction and then he was free. Of course he could continue to college, which would entail even more interaction between people he barely knew, but at least then it would be his choice. But perhaps that train of thought was a bit too harsh on Chisukes part. The students of this school, for the most part, were all pretty friendly. Most interactions Chisuke had with people were smooth enough, though Chisuke barely spoke; often unable to get his mouth to speak the words he thought. But Chisuke had to admit that last year had been a more better for him thanks to his position in the theatre club.

Chisuke had joined because his parents had asked him too and he had no objections, since he would just be handling lights and stuff; away from everyone else where he didn't have to speak with them. But occasionally talks did happen and he eventually got to meet the crew and bond with them. They were all very nice and respected that he enjoyed not talking. One of the perks of knowing actors was that they had no problems carrying a conversation.

Speaking of, Chisuke spotted one of the actors now and figured he'd walk over to say hi; or just give a soft wave. He moved closer, about to say hi to Leo, but stopped in his tracks as he saw a new kid approach. Chisuke froze as his cheeks gently grew red. 'Oh no! He's cute!' he thought to himself as he stood there, sticking out like a sore thumb.

  Today was the day, two weeks of working her tail off and now it was time for the next semester. Normally you would expect a student to arrive just on time, or perhaps a little late. In the case of Kaede, neither of these had been the preferred option. She had arrived on the campus nearly an hour early, only being allowed on the premises as one of the instructors noticed her outside the gate. As to why she had such a puzzlingly early arrival time could early be boiled down to three words, 'Student. Council. Work', or at least that's what she'll claim it to be. Now that the gates had been opened officially, she stood at the left-hand side parallel to her vice president. The two of them smiled out towards the students, welcoming returning students, and greeting new ones with a smile.
  
  "Welcome to Jindai! If I'm correct in my assumption, you're a first-year aren't you?" She smiled to a boy who stood a good head above her in height, giving nods of approval as he greeted her in kind. "It's great to have you here. If you have any questions about the school or need help finding your way around, we have a table set off to the side to help you out with that" She beamed to the new student before they spoke a quick thanks and moved towards the table in question. She was available to answer questions if students had them, but wouldn't hesitate to refer them to the help desk even if they hadn't asked her for something.
  
  So far this year had been looking pretty promising in the student body, not a single problem student that she had spied so far. That or they were just doing a good job at hiding from her vision. Reaching a hand up she would slowly begin to mess with her armband, mostly just to ensure it wouldn't risk falling off and getting trampled by the onslaught of students. As she gazed into the crowd she had noticed quite a few familiar faces, each one walking approaching the gate with varying levels of enthusiasm. Taking a moment, she straightened herself up as she stood to ensure that she didn't give off the implication that she had been slacking off. The next student began to approach the gate and she turned to them will the same welcoming smile, hands clasping together before her as she began to run through the same shpiel as she had with the other students.

  Continuing his trek forward, Jirou walked towards that of the front gate. This had been his second year here at the academy, the first resulted in him maintaining a sense of ambiguity but maybe this time he would go for something... louder. Reaching a hand up to his neck, he slowly began to pull at the cord that served to hold his camera idly moving it higher then lower again. Slowly he began to look around for anyone he knew in the crowd, he'd seen quite of his classmates in the crowd but none that he'd denoted as a friend just yet. The first group he noticed was a small and yet steadily growing cluster of individuals. From what he could tell, the school's renowned 'heartthrob' and one of his friends were messing around as they moved towards the gateway. Those two he had seen interacting in the year prior fairly consistently, so he imagined they may have been quite close.
  
  The rest of the group had been the ones that drew his attention, two other males had approached them- one appearing to try and converse with the other two while another took a more idle approach. Another individual appeared to be glancing at the group in a similar way to himself, though she was far more discreet about it. He had seen all of their faces before, at some point or another, and yet names managed to evade him regardless of how he attempted to capture them. A short way off he noticed a few other individuals, a few classmates he had spoken to once or twice, and some who he loosely associated under the banner of 'friends'.
  
  As he looked out to them he began to fidget with the camera dangling from his neck, zooming in and out as he watched the lens focus and unfocus once more. Looking back towards the crowd of those around him he felt a desire to go talk to them. 'I should talk to some of them... try to make a few friends or something. What's the worst that could happen right?' He thought to himself, mentally preparing to work himself up to go and speak to someone among the crowd. But what if they didn't like him... or worse, what if they thought he was some kind of weird stalker? 'Maybe I can try that later...' He made haste to rationalize it away without a second thought.
  
  For now, he turned his attention back down to the camera in his hand, beginning to go back through videos and pictures he had taken in the past as he walked. If he didn't look at anyone it would lessen the chances of an awkward encounter, right? So he made sure to keep his gaze lowered as he continued walking towards the gate, doing his best to use the camera to avoid eye-contact.

Arumi's alarm clock had been going off for about 30 mins and she had yet to wake up until finally she suddenly sat up in a daze and stared at the clock as she slowly came to realization she had woken up late. "CRAP! NOT TODAY!" She flew out of bed and quickly threw her uniform on. The last thing she wanted was to be late on the first day of high school. Arumi grabbed her bag and dashed to the door but before she could reach it she felt someone grab the back of her collar. She didn't have to turn around to know who it was. "Ugh mama I'm going to be late let go!" Tsubaki just gave her a small smile and preceded to drag her to the dinning room. "Now" She said as sat down. "Sit and eat your breakfast then you can leave." Arumi grunted and sat down. "But I'm going to be late." Arumi wined. Her mother didn't say word. "Ugh fine!" She quickly downed her food and bolted out the door. "Bye mom!"

Arumi ran practically at the speed of light all the way to school and she may or may not have knocked down a few folks. When she finally arrived at the school she stood some what out of breath and confused. "It doesn't look like I'm late......wait a min." She dug through her bag and pulled out her phone to see that she was actually early. "But my clock.....mama ugh not again!" Tsubaki would sometimes mess with Arumi's clock to make her think it was later then it actually was so she wouldn't sleep in and get school late. "You think I'd know her tricks by now." She dropped her phone into her bag and then looked up at the school and watched the students as they walked through the gates. As excited as she was to finally be in high school she was also a little nervous. Her friend from middle school had moved so they wouldn't be going to school together unfortunately but at least on the up side her friend from the show would be here....but she wouldn't know anyone from class,,,,,"Great.....WHELP! No matter time to make some new friends!" She yelled confidently causing her to get a few stares.

Arumi walked up to the gates and but stopped as a girl gave her the same welcome she had gave boy before her. "Thanks! Will do." Arumi said with smile and was actually about to head over to the table until she spotted a certain blonde. She gave a mischievous smile and dashed over to him and jumped on his back and yelled out. "SURPRISE ATTACK!" She gave big grin. "Haha morning!" She then noticed the two other boys he was talking to and smiled at them. "Hello." She said still on Leo's back.

Leo smiled at the newcomer, "Gabriel huh? Well looks like we've got another foreign name here," he laughed, holding out his hand to Gabriel, "The name's Yamakawa Leo, but Leo's fine," he continued casually. Leo never made a big fuss about people calling him by his first name, others saw it as western and trendy, but in reality, Leo thought his given name sounded cool. Meanwhile, in the background, Mitsu made his escape from this situation, but he was quickly caught by the back of his collar, "and this here is Nagano Mitsuoki, my good friend," he said, pulling his taller friend into a small huddle. Mitsuoki gave Gabriel a friendly nod before ducking out of Leo's huddle, "I'm gonna go figure out which class we're in. Don't cause too much trouble," he said before heading towards the gate, a mischievous smile as he spotted the student council president next to the gate, "sure thing Mr. unbuttoned shirt!" he said loud enough so that most people nearby could hear him. He knew Mitsu hated tight clothes, especially around his neck, so his tie was usually loosened and the top button of his shirt was undone. In return, Mitsu glared daggers back and quickly scanned his surroundings until he noticed the president. Mitsu never really had issues with the student council before, most of the time he flew under their radar, and hopefully, it would happen again.

Leo let out a small chuckle as he watched his friend hurry through the gate. "So anyways Gabriel where are you fro-" Leo was saying before he felt something slam into his back, at first he thought it was a sneak attack from Mitsu, but he'd never do something like that in this crowd. Glancing behind him Leo recognized the girl clung to his back, "Ah Nakamura-San, long time no see," he said before noticing another familiar face, "Ah Takoyami-Senpai good morning," he said, giving the fellow theatre member a wave. "Man I sure am running into a lot of people today," the blonde laughed.

Gabriel shook Leo's hand, and waved at Mitsuoki. After Leo asked him his question, he responded.

"I was born in America, but my aunt took me in and we moved here when I was six."

Chisuke absolutely felt himself melt as the new boy smiled at him. He had a gorgeous smile, and wonderful blue eyes, and such beautiful hair. Holy shit! It was finally happening! That thing that he always fears would happen to him, causing him even more anxiety than he had when just talking to other classmates......He had a crush. Chisuke wasn't prepared for this, for the blushing and increase in heartbeat and the stuttering. He could barely speak as it was. And what if someone figured out this crush? They'd figure out he was......

Before he could finish that thought he realised that Leo had spoken to him. Chisuke took this moment to move a bit closer to the group. "You know you don't have to call me that," he said in a voice that was deep, but his softness to it, "just call me Chisuke.

Alexei jogged at a steady pace down the streets and sidewalks of the city. The move to Tokyo had been hard on him, not in the sense that he was upset about moving, he missed the landscape of the countryside, it was it was more enjoyable in his mind to look at the trees and fields instead of storefronts and concrete. He passed other students, he checked the clock on his phone as he ran and deftly returned it to his pocket while weaving in between other pedestrians. Alexei finally slowed down to walk, the uniforms of Jindai weren't exactly designed for fitness, and he didn't want sweat stains to be the first thing people saw on the first day back.

A lot of the students gave him a wide berth, being a foreigner from somewhere they usually didn't get a lot of visitors from was definitely a reason, his accent probably didn't help either. He saw a group of five students, one had jumped on the others back and they all seemed out of place in wave of students passing through the gates of Jindai. He was roused from his thoughts by someone talking to himself close behind him, Alexei turned around in time to see another student looking down at his camera bump into him. Alexei didn't move and he raised an eyebrow towards the boy. "You always talk to yourself bratan?" he said in an amused voice as he crossed his arms.
