Outside Sides Scrap Emporium

Rota was awfully quiet for the remainder of the journey from the security doors of the middle carriage and a few steps away from his store, when Rota finally spoke. Something about firing her the dokkalf stopped literally mid step to turn to look at Rota with a most perplexed look "what on earth are you talking about Rota? why on earth would I fire you??" he said walking closer to her taking her hand in his "you can still protect me you know.. just not in the normal sense what about all the firearms you have, and there is something I have been working on which I think you will really enjoy."

"now I'll not hear another word of this silliness of me dismissing you lets get inside first and make sure the store is in order and I have a feeling that things are going to get a great deal worse having all these extra people shoved in this middle carriage." Unlocking the roller door of the entrance and stepping inside there were already more people mulling around the streets looking for places to stay and or squat, it wouldn't be too long until others would turn to looting or petty theft. The shop was still intact thankfully, tossing the bent pipe into a scrap iron pile, dragging on his tool belt. Grasping something from under the counter it was shiny as it was carefully polished and sharpened.

Grasping it with two hands and walking back over to Rota where she had taken her usual place of guarding, placing the base of the pole-arm on the metal ground in front of her. "I know you like your baton but this is a little more fitting for a guard, there is something else I'm working on but I'm going to need a lot more time and some pretty sepcialised parts first. "now cheer up we need to get back to our rooms to check them next, before making our way back here."

The dark haired woman still had her head clasped in her hands, the bad thoughts whirling to the point she could barely think at all. Her normally observant gaze missing as he reached under his bench and pulled something out before walking to her. The once-valkryie only lifted her golden eyes which were still wet as she heard the thunk of the metal base against the ground. Peering up to the Spear as her eyes widened in surprise. He.. made her a weapon? Whatever for? Her mind started to echo his words from earlier. He... wasn't going to fire her? Even after learning of her condition?

Her face started to relax a fraction as she stood up to her full height before him, looking down on him now as her hands reached out and grasped at the spear. She curled her fingers hard around the bar lifting it up and down slowly to judge it's weight. Then suddenly she crouched down and pulled it behind her shoulder before launching it right over the Dokkalf's shoulder and body, to which it thud against the Shop Front door, watching the bar wobble once it had landed in the material of the door. Her aim straight where a normal Human's heart would be nestled. She looked back to the Dokkalf with a serious expression with broke into an oddly soft smile. "It... is made very well. The balance is perfect for the length and it soars well." Stepping closer to him before she in a very bold and sudden move, slipped her arms in under his own and curled around his back, dragging the man into her frame as she held him in a tight hold.

Her cheek resting on the top of his head. "I... was scared of having to go back home... to the Western Mountains. I'll do whatever it takes not to go back... I..." she paused for a moment, but she had already started so she may as well continue right? "I... am a Valkrie. That is why when we... that one time.. I knew the next morning. But I couldn't tell you because... this train is all I have now. I didn't want to go back home..." Looking to the ceiling and sighing gently. "My wings were torn. Ripped straight from my back. In the Lower Carriage. I had Raven wings, like my hair... a black market for feathers so sleek. Valkryie feathers. I didn't know... I should have known they would target my wings. But I didn't... I tried to fight them traditional. Using sword and shield... they overwhelmed me..." She paused then feeling like she had already said to much. Her eyes drifting closed. "I should have told you when you first hired me... but no one knew... and I didn't want anyone to find out."

What what what?! Bastion blinked several times, hands still clenched into fists, the guy had said he'd let him pass but then the man had walked towards him causing Bastion to panic slightly, he had been seconds from swinging when the man had suddenly picked him up and tossed him over his shoulder. What!? Okay Bastion wasn't a small man, not at freaking all, yet this psychopath was carrying him as if he were lighter than a bag of potatoes. He should have struggled but again didn't feel like dying today so he'd gone limp and let the man do as he pleased. After a time he was dropped to the ground and landed on his rear letting out a mildly annoyed yelp, but he was quick to snap back to his feet eyes locked on the bloody man; the bastard had stained his only good set of clothes...emotions spiked and he really wanted to hit the guy for that, petty he knew but he had worked hard for this outfit. Bastion crosses his arms over his chest and glares at the man, while he cleaned blood from his blade then stuck his hand out as if asking for payment, panic flashed anew in his cerulean hues and damn right then he cursed his lack of control over his emotions.

The only thing he'd picked was from a woman who had rushed to him asking for help once...only once, he hadn't let it get to him and had ignored the woman; after feeling her up and snagging something from her, a ring that the woman had taken off and tucked into what she'd thought was a safe place; with Bastion nothing was a safe place...but now he had a dillema...run the risk of dying or give up his snatched treasure? Damn this, damn the man, time to play the stalling game, "I don't know what you want from me but really isn't it rude to not introduce yourself? How about I start?" Holy crap what was he stupid!? He had sounded sassy when he'd snapped at the freaking crazy guy with a blade! Whatever let's start to just pile it all on and see how his luck holds, "I'm Bae or that's what you can call me anyway of Bast, either way you're not getting my full name, you're turn Crazy." Oh gods...how deep would he dig this hole?!

Jörmungandr - Middle Cars - Winter 1912

As the person in front of him, Bastion as it turned out, asked him to introduce himself Katsurou withdrew his hand with a wry smile. "My apologies, I am Himura Katsurou of the prestigious Himura Clan of the Kodai Empire, currently working as a mercenary" he said, bowing politely. Contrary to Bastion's thoughts and fears he was actually in no real danger of being attacked by Katsurou unless he attacked first or else Katsurou had a reason to attack. Until such a time the warrior would follow his code of honor in being at least generally civil, though not exactly friendly.  "I was asking for payment of course," Katsurou continued, "Or was I mistaken about you hiring me to get you out of there?" As the last words left his mouth he began to think back to when he had picked the other man up, trying to remember what exactly he had said. He hoped that he had been right though, it had been a while since he had last gotten a paying job and the funds weren't as good as they could be at the moment. That being said, it didn't seem like Bast had much on him either. Well, there was no real sense in thinking too hard about it, if he had been wrong or if Bast couldn't pay it wouldn't be the end of the world, he could always find another job or something. Money wasn't that important. Plus, he had had a chance to enjoy himself earlier so that could work as payment if push came to shove.

Jörmungandr - Middle Cars - Winter 1912

Bastian sighed internally as his charge began to scream at him, at least it showed that that the smaller man was at least mostly fine. If he had been injured severely he wouldn't have had the strength to shout like that. Even so, the lordling hadn't escaped entirely unscathed as, when he tried to get up all-to-quickly, his legs buckled, prompting the tall bodyguard to thrust an arm out to catch and steady him, turning to make sure Marik was alright. Or at least, he would have caught him had not the woman from earlier came over to do it instead. He eyed her, trying to ascertain whether or not he would have to seperate her from his charge, though it didn't seem like she meant him any harm at the moment. Even so, the bodyguard remained more wary than usual to her as there was something about her that he didn't like the feel of.

Having done that Bastian turned back to the dokkalf in order to respond to what he had said, still keeping an eye on the woman as he did so. '"Do you know of any doctors nearby?" he asked curtly, not bothering to address the other man's, completely valid, concerns about the state of Marik's mental health given that that was how the lordling usually acted. It was a wonder that the Alleshlander could stand him at all, even if only barely.

Jörmungandr - Middle Cars - Winter 1912

Katsurou had just finished disemboweling someone, his blade nearly hitting another person in the process, when he heard a that very person calling out to him. Turning to the other man, or at least that's what he assumed the other person to be, he listened to him, his grin growing a little wider as he listened. A job! He could actually earn some money now! He was really glad that he hadn't killed the blue-haired man on accident, or rather, that the blue-haired man could dodge so well. "I can do that," he said, before abruptly stepping forwards and scooping his new employer, or so he had decided, onto his left shoulder, an action rendered strangely comical by the 7 in height difference between the two. Then, he turned and began to sprint away from the gate, clearing himself a path with the sword still in his right hand and carrying the taller man with seeming ease, the thought that the other man might not be able to pay him never even crossing his mind.

A short while later Katsurou arrived in a back alleyway that was free from fighting and set his employer down before finally wiping the blood off of his sword on one of the only bits of non blood-soaked clothing he had on and sheathing it. He then turned to the other man and grinned again, holding out his hand in a manner that clearly suggested that he was looking to receive some sort of compensation for his efforts.

Middle Carriage:

Near Gate to Upper Carriage

The boy, Lord Marik as he turns out to be, ill-advisedly began going about in hysterical agitation about the pirates that had supposedly came on board. Inevitable, he soon had to stop, due to being struck by a wave of nauseousness that came about with his concussion. It was then, a woman came running by, and she had the look of someone who had taken one too many illicit "medication" as one of Zeke's colleagues would put it. She came looking after the lordling who had fallen into the ground, an exaggerated look of worry hangs upon her face, though Zeke would use the word "looking after" loosely and would much prefer, "sucking up".

"Doctors?" Zeke replied the supposed bodyguard who asked him about doctors in the vicinity, "I remember seeing a clinic on the way, but it seems to be closed at the moment. But I did came across a bar, well, a bar and grills, I'm sure we can at least find some ice to put on the poor kid, assuming he even stay still for that long anyways."

Evlyn noticed the looks she was receiving from both Bastian and Zeke, but quite frankly she didn't actually care. In-fact she just giggled a bit at them and focused on Marik, hoping he was alright despite his currently dazed and bruised state. From the answer which was silence thus far to all three of them Evlyn could only safely assume that a clinic was needed as Bastian suggested. At Zeke's suggestion she rolled her eyes, "Hell no, we aren't taking him to a bar to give him medical attention." She replied pointedly before scooping the dazed man up in her arms. "C'mon, I know where a clinic is nearby. It should be open." She told them.

She waited on no answer or response before walking off in the direction of said clinic, walking at a relatively slow pace that she figured they'd be able to catch up to. Well, Bastian at the least since he seemed to be Marik's bodyguard and pretty well trained. In a few minutes they would reach the clinic, Evlyn passing him off to a nurse for examination and treatment once they had. She then turned to her companions, provided of course they'd actually followed her. "Evlyn Light, pleasure to meet you both." She said with a small dramatic bow. Of course, if they had decided not to follow she'd be talking to air. But it wasn't exactly uncommon for her to anyway.

Bastian would have responded to the dokkalf with something along the lines that he wanted to find an actual clinic, even if it meant breaking into the one that was closed, but the crazy girl did it before him. He really couldn't understand what she liked about Marik, assuming it wasn't his money of course. That said, he figured that he'd have a bad time trying to understand what was going on in her head in general so he didn't bother trying. Instead, he simply kept a warier eye on her than normal, which was really saying something given how wary he was normally.

It was then that she picked Marik up and began to walk off with him, albeit slowly, prompting the tall bodyguard to follow her. As before, he didn't feel any ill-intent towards Marik from her so he didn't take him from her. Rather he just kept pace until they arrived at the clinic she had mentioned and she gave the lordling off to the staff to deal with. Then, when she turned around to introduce herself to him, with a bow no less, he finally spoke. "Bastian," he replied simply, his curt and serious manner the complete opposite of hers.

Lilianna watched as the Alf Prince jump off the roof but he was short of the stack that would have saved him. "Adrenias!" she yelled, jerking to go and catch him but Sarma beat her to it. Cradling him like a mother would her child. Or maybe a newlywed couple. Once Adren got off, he began to walk towards her and pretty much say onwards. "If it werent for Sarma you would have been a pancake." said Lili as she began to head towards her cafe "Next time just jump. Dont hesitate..I seen you hesitating you know." she continued to walk with him and soon enough they came up to her cafe where she pulled out a key and slipped it into the lock, allowing him inside first along with Sarma and then herself. The lights were off as they walked in. "Take a seat wherever you want." she locked the door back up just in case and headed to where the lightswitch usually was, flipping on the switches and heading behind the bar to prepare tea. "Welcome to Sparks cafe." Lilianna gave him a friendly smile as she pulled out some mugs, placing them on the bartop. "Now seeing as you're a city boy, you can taste the natural flavors of the woodland Alves's tea. Trust me, it's worth it when I say it." she informed him "Fresh right off of the plant."

Lilianna jerked her head just a little bit so she could get her bangs out of her hair and so she could see better. Crouching down she opened a cabinet and pulled out a glass jar that was filled with tea leaves and stood back up to show him "These little guys were picked last night before I went to bed. I stocked them here when I was done. Plus I may be having some growing in the back but dont tell anyone." She laughed softly and began to heat up the water.  "If you like the tea i'll be willing to give you a jar. I have plenty of more anyway. Plus I get a nice head start when the tain stops by my hometown."

It would seem that they weren't going to take Marik to the bar, though one would suppose that wasn't exactly the best idea ever no that Zeke thought about it. The lady attending to Marik even puts it along the lines of, "We ain't taking him to a bar to get medical attention!". And while there's perhaps nothing to be laughed about, it somehow cracks Zeke up, though he managed to keep it from bursting out. SO hearing that the lady know of some clinic nearby, there's little else to do than to follow, though exactly why Zeke would follow them is unknown. Perhaps he's just caught up in the flow.

After having the young lordling attended to by the nurses of the clinic, it would seem that is was time for introductions, the lady even did so with a dramatic bow. On the other hand, Bastian's showmanship was lacking. Well then, best to show him how it's done, thought Zeke. And with a bow Just as dramatic as the last, it was Zeke's turn to give his name.

"Zeke Hartfield, a pleasure, Madam and Sir."

Evlyn Light

Evlyn outright laughed at Rota's initial response, mostly because it was true for the most part. She smirked at her remarks of 'shadow friends'. "In-case you haven't noticed I'm forced to sit here with the rest of you at the moment." She replied. "Believe me, you're far from interesting enough for me to sit here and taunt you all day. Though it is pretty damn fun!" She told her enthusiastically, contrary to the mood she should have after having been threatened by someone a lot stronger than her. Strength never really mattered to her before as she found a nice opening plus a bat to the base of the skull typically ended fights relatively well, the problem being getting the space for said opening of course. She was going to say more until Adrenias and Sarma popped up asking if anyone was hurt, she shrugged silently in response. Honestly she was crazy, but not stupid. She didn't feel like pissing off an entire group of people entirely.

Her attention was further drawn away at the mention of pirates. Pirates huh? Damn. Seemed literally everyone was trying to get a foothold of crime on the Train. If not her there were already numerous other smaller gangs and such, even some organizations larger than her own. Of course it was all done in the background for the most part but as far as she was concerned the train might as well be bought by the blackmarket by now....oh hell who was she kidding, it probably already was. She was going to say something further up until Sides threatened her with a pipe. A pipe...really? Then again, he had no clue she had a gun. Even further depending on his reflexes she could be out could before she even drew it. She laughed once more at his idle threats and would be insults, shaking her head and smirking. "If sex was all I was after or a fight I wouldn't be standing here right about now." She said. "I'm more than capable of finding both by myself, and I don't really feel in the mood to get knocked up or out by these assholes either." She explained before shrugging.

She was, again, going to continue her tirade until she heard Marik shouting. She held up a single finger to the group she was in the process of slowly convincing to murder her to focus on the argument between Marik and Zeke. When it got to the point Zeke was going to harm the already wounded Marik Evlyn completely ditched the group and walked over, one man she could handle if she wanted to fight, an entire group of people...not so much. Luckily a man she presumed to be Marik's body guard stopped Zeke before he hurt him. Needless to say that didn't stop the lord from somehow wounding himself it seemed, Evlyn arriving to steady him when he almost fell. "Are you okay Lord Marik?" She asked

Middle Carriage < Being dragged to a filthy Scummy Middle Clinic

Marik wasn't really sure what had happened. He was quite content to be screaming at everyone and everything including his good for nothing Body Guard, the one of which he completely missed stopping this new comer from knocking him out completely, then his balance when wonky and his vision blurred and everything went sort of spotty. Marik was then leaning against something that felt rather nice if he were to admit it, little did he know it was the crazy gold watch wielding, voices echoing in her mind woman from earlier. He didn't know it was HER per-say, but his weird concussed head noticed a very nice SOMETHING holding him up. A something with a very nice set of SOMETHINGS on their front. Somethings that his eyes were pretty much glued to, with the exclusion of all else. He was even fully convinced those somethings had whispered if he was okay, and his eyes widened a fraction more like he were hearing the voice of an angel calling to him.

The melons then told him something about medical attention and a bar, he didn't quite catch that part because frankly he was drifting in and out of this concussion business at a frightening rate. In fact he was pretty sleepy and was thinking a big long nap might do him well. Those boobs were leading him away now! That was delightful, were they going on an adventure? Marik's gaze hadn't moved even an inch from those assets though his pupils were constricting and widening at strange levels now. And a headache was starting to form even worse then before. Not long into the journey on fluffy clouds, Marik arrived at a place that was oddly white and clean looking, but he KNEW he was in Middle Carriage, that automatically triggered some sort of germophobia. EVERYTHING in middle was dirty, dirty and gross and scummy and filthy. Like it's inhabitants which clearly never bathed. He could SMELL the fear and neediness even from afar. That was when a lovely nurse tugged him away from the very nice rack he had been drooling over practically this entire time, and Marik had to make a fraction of a whine as he was pulled away from the three, stretching out a hand to making grabby paws as he did as he left the only thing that mattered in the group... or the two things.... those boobs.

That was when the once nice, lovely Nurse, now seemed to turn commanding and hostile and promptly slammed his butt onto a stretcher bed before spreading his eyes open and thrusting a bright light into them, causing the Lordling to screech painfully. The Nurse, obviously some sort of deep seeded SADIST then simply glared at him like his noise was uncomfortable for her and gave him that 'you better sit still and don't make a noise' look before leaving and returning a moment later with a much older looking Doctor. The Doctor then peering into Marik's blonde hair with a somewhat worried look before he whispered things to the Nurse, who then hurried off and returned with a full tray of surgical equipment. The Doctor hefted a needle probably the size of a small beast right at Marik's face, and was that a Sadist look at his face as well! Almost the second he waved it around his face Marik was screaming like a little girl and rolled back, tangling himself up in the sheets on the stretcher then falling off with a loud THUD, then scrambling or more aptly wriggling against the ground and away from the crazy medical team and their weird strange pain fetishes!

----

Meanwhile the Nurse and Doctor had a mighty perplexed look on their face, with an average sized needle in the Doctor's, both their faces calm if not slightly confused. "The needle was only to numb the area around the wound on his head, judging from the bruises he has sustained, he has a form of Hemophilia and his grogginess combined with the obvious hit to his head and subsequent concussion has me concerned he might have bleeding in the brain. Unfortunately I can't do much with him screaming the house down and in a quite clearly hysterical state." The Doctor and Nurse then turned away from Marik to look to the group of three just as the Dokkalf finished his theatrical bow. "If one of you, his Friends, could hold him down while we give him this injection, we would much appreciate it. That is, if you want your Friend to leave in a better condition then how he arrived."

Adrenias sighed as he sat down in the Spark's Cafe, he looked like a fool in front of her, Sarma undoubtedly saved him from any fractures, and any further embarrassment, he guessed. he looked up at Lilianna mostly enjoying the view "uh" he broke out of his little trance, 'did she say natural tea?' "I-i've never had natural tea before." He paused "i wasn't really aware there was artificial tea either.." he whispered to himself. 'guess she meant fresh' He smiled and chuckled a little as she 'probably' joked. "Are these," He stared at the jar. "Leaves rare or special? Taste the best?" Adrenias of course was genuinely interested, as this was not a field he was familiar with he'd always prefer clockwork dolls over tea but it didn't mean he wasn't adverse to learning anything else.

Sarma and the spider had decided to leave the two alone but not out of reach as they stood by the entrance both observing them and outside. Sarma herself was concerned with the events that had happened. The spider that had predated Sarma had shown the same if not more the amount of concern that Sarma had but concern for what she didnt know. She knew that dolls like herself weren't as intelligent when they were smaller, an extra pair of eyes and more experience were never to be underestimated though. She held the spider up with two hands and whispered "go find out whats really happening." and set the spider near a vent for it to scurry out, it awkwardly nodded and left. To Adrenias this looked as if they were playing with eachother.

Jörmungandr - Middle Cars - Winter 1912

Bastian didn't acknowledge Zeke's theatrics much as he hadn't really acknowledged Evlyn's, though he did file both their names away in his head in case he needed to look into them at all in the future. Rather, his attention was focused on his charge as a nurse came to collect him, prompting the lordling to begin grabbing at Evlyn's chest. The bodyguard sighed quietly as he had hoped that the lordling would have been better behaved but he supposed that was too much to ask given Marik's personality and his concussion. However, due to these thoughts he didn't object when the nurse put the idiot none-too-gently onto the clinic bed and shined a light into his eyes as, the way Bastian saw it, Marik fully deserved such treatment.

Standing back, the Alleschlander prepared to let the nurse handle Marik's medical care, hoping that his charge would cause no more trouble. His hopes were dashed a moment later as, when the doctor came in with an anesthesia shot to allow him to tend to the wound on the lordling's head. said lordling began to scream like a small girl and rolled himself backwards off of the bed to avoid the needle. Following this, and even before the doctor had spoken up to ask for someone to hold his patient down, Bastian strode forward to pick his charge up and set him, again none-too gently, on the bed, holding him down so that the frail man had no hope of running away from the shot again. He then looked over to the doctor to signal him to resume his work.

Rota Ravven

The Dokkalf put his hands on his hips looking to rota with a mixed expression "Well now that explains a lot of things from what you said and how weird you have been, and also the progressively obvious addition you have there." he said before smiling "but I'll say it as often as I need to, the spear is yours to keep of course, can't have you without an expanding arsenal, my guard and mother to be of our i guess daughter since how your kind reproduce and all,"

after she had tossed the spear with great accuracy into the store door, something he would need to repair at some stage soon but letting it slide for now. Wrapping his arms about the emotional open and vulnerable woman in front of him. Moving his head to bring her face in view of each other rubbing his nose against hers "hey now um strange question but I'm not aware of customs or what not am I supposed to make an honest woman out of you by proposing?" giving her taller frame a squeeze as he hugged her more "Either way you won't need to worry about leaving the train to have return home, your home is with me now and in the distant future"

The Valkryie felt Side's arms wrap around her frame and pull her in tighter, though his little comment about noticing her addition didn't go unheard and she offered a rather dangerous frown in his direction as she did. But as she had been since they first met, the dark haired woman couldn't stay mad at him for very long. Despite how much she wanted to hate him, she just couldn't seem to find the courage to. Certainly others had died for less. But the sneaky sod got away with all kinds of butt slaps and other things in public she would never allow another to do.

"A daughter yes... I can only produce females..." She said in a soft tone, that held the same almost formal wording as most of her sentences did. One day she might tell him of her home land and how serious they were...The woman wasn't expecting him to pull her face down and nuzzle her nose, and her gold eyes widened even further as she stared to him, not really sure how to react. "P...Propose?" She had to think for a minute what that was again before she responded. "Our species don't really propose as such. Most woman leave the village when they wish to sire another, they either come back alone or don't return to the village. I have heard of rumors of some ahh... couples, wearing bracelets or the like. To be fair.. I am not altogether sure..." Glancing away with a narrowing gaze. "I don't associate with being that species anymore, so if a human or a Dokkalf would propose in this situation, then lets see to it that we do that." She said in a matter of fact sort of tone.

Despite her serious tone, her face broke a fraction when he said she didn't have to leave the train and could stay here on with him. It was at that moment her face broke into a wide and beautiful smile as tears collected in the sides of her eyes. "Oh Siedhr...." She whispered and pressed her lips in against his own as her eyes slipped closed a fraction. Loosing herself to the feeling of having someone so close to her... well for the second time. She'd been that close and moreso to someone two months ago afterall...

She lost track of time for how long she stood there, but there was a loud, hurried rap on the door of his workshop that eventually broke the warrior from her kiss. Turning to face the door as the knocking only increased and almost sounded closer to try to bust in then a friendly customer.

Middle Carriage: Clinic

Evyln only laughed when she noticed exactly where Marik was grabbing at as he was carried away. She sighed gently and shook her head, well at-least she knew she had a sufficient way to bribe him that would likely work more than once. Needless to say as soon as he was out of the room she turned to Zeke as he introduced himself smirking as he more or less copied her. "Nice to meetcha' Zeke~" She replied in a cheerful tone. When the doctors came in speaking about what was wrong with Marik and the fact that he wasn't all to willing to have the needle anywhere near him she blinked. Marik, afraid of small needles...of course he was.

She sighed heavily, and was going to help..until Bastian moved to go help instead. Oh well. She then looked to Zeke, "So, Mr. 'Let's take someone with brain bleeding to a bar'....what do you do for work?" She asked, seemingly out of the blue. It wasn't entirely random, not for her. Recruiting was always on her mind, might as well not stop now.

lilianna3.png

Lillianna raised her eyebrow, making her look cute due to her piercing "Artifical tea is when they use chemicals or some stuff to make the plant grow faster but also make it absorb the chemicals which is pretty bad for your body." she pointed out. "These leaves arent Rare or Special. They're just natural. From the soil with the sun and nice river water. No chemicals of any sort. Many people love the way the tea is made here. So I would assume that it's the best." as the water began to boil within the metal tea pot which began to whistle and she took it off the small burner by the wooden handle grip so she wouldnt get burned. "What I like about this teapot is that it has its little screen within the spout. So it keeps the tea leaves from getting thrown in there. You'll get itty bitty pieces but that's about it." Placing it on top of little matt so it wouldnt burn the countertop, she opened the small opening on the upper part of the pot and opened a jar, putting enough tea leaves to make it the usual color she knew it'd turn.

The alf capped the top and then capped the jar, putting the glass away under the cabinet and stood back up "Many of the leaves I have here are very, very, very helpful. The bit I just put in actually helps with sleep. So tonight when you go to bed, stop by in the morning tell me how you slept. Many people come here late at night before I close just to get this bit of tea. I have another that helps with the heart. Maybe sometime I can take you to the forest where I live. You'll see how many plants we have. From foods to tea leaves and not to mention flowers in the spring, summer, and fall. Just know you're gonna have to get down and dirty if you wanna stay at my place till the train comes back. Gotta work for your stay." plus she was sure that he'd like it in the forest, it was quiet unless someone had been in the more populated area where shops were holding up and where people were working. "I promise the dirt wont bite either... Unless you irritate it." she joked, picking up the tea pot and shaking it softly to stirr the contents inside before bringing the mugs closer to her and pouring the liquid into the cups

"I hope you like it, Adrenias." putting the pot back down, she went and grabbed a jar of sugar cubes (With the mini clamps) and placed them on the bar top "Give me one minute." with that she vanished into the back where she got a jar of milk and emerged into the main room "I got some milk and sugar so whichever you prefer in your tea, go ahead." she grabbed the small clamps and opened the small jar of sugar cubes and pulled 2 cubes out before putting the clamps back into the jar to be awaiting use. Then she put just a tiny bit of milk before grabbing two metal spoons and handing him one while she stirred hers with another.

Zeke Hartfield

Middle Car: Clinic

The kid's afraid of needles, surprise, surprise. So thought Zeke when he heard the ruckus coming from the back of the medical facility. Of course, he was being sarcastic, for despite Marik's arrogant, high and mighty attitude, he feels rather wimpy and from the way he wails about, one could say that the lordling is rather helpless without his attendant, Bastion by his side. Such a thing, it was good to know, and Zeke made sure to take note of it to perhaps exploit it in the future. Yes, for the future, but currently, there's something else he will have to deal with first.

"Not going to let me live it down are you?" Zeke replied the lady called Evlyn.

Being called a "Mr. Let's take someone with brain bleeding to a bar" he couldn't help but let out a chuckle. Unlike Bastion, this one has a sense of humor, but let's not underestimate her just because of that. The question she pose afterwards, asking him about what he does for work casually like it was but a part of a normal conversation. Perhaps it was but a normal conversation, but the common courtesy is to first talk about yourself, before asking for information about others. A minor thing that perhaps few would be concerned with. But to gain information without giving any, well, well, well... well, perhaps Zeke's just being paranoid. But just in case that she's trying something, Zeke always has the perfect counter, and that is, to lie.

"I see you've taken an interest in me, but I'm afraid I'll simply disappoint you. I am but a simple wage slave for a wealthy merchant. My boss sent me here to observe the market you see, wanted to open a new branch office here. Well, the supposed pirates sorta messed up my plans though." he casually explained, shrugging his shoulders at the end.

"And you, Madam Light, what do you do for a living. Something glamorous do doubt, seeing that you are rather close with Sir Elswood over there."

Marik could not think of a worse day he had had in his entire life. Not only was his birthday party RUINED by lower class ingrates coming into his home and stealing his food. THEN he got knocked on the head by... well who knows what or who; wait wasn't his body guard supposed to protect him from that sort of thing? Wasn’t that what he was paid for? Well if Marik had been the one paying for his wage, he'd have long since been unemployed. So perhaps for his sake it was better that Marik's father paid him rather then the lordling himself.

Speaking of said Body Guard, he was striding over while Marik was squealing like a little girl, picking him up and dumping him onto the bed to restrain him from the crazy, sadist Doctor and Nurse. Marik kicked out and whined and whimpered but really, he was about as a strong a feather and didn't much stand a chance. But why did they place him face down on the hospital bed? With his cheek still pressed into the dirty and utterly flat pillow, he felt the crazy nurse peel down his pants as he gulped and his eyes widened before another huge scream erupted his lips as the Nurse none to gently stabbed Marik right in his bottom with the mother of all needles!!!

The nerve!

"WHEN I GET BACK TO UPPER CLASS AND MY FATHER I AM SHUTTING YOU DOWN YOU CRAZY LOWER CLASS SCUM!"

The Nurse cuckled before patting his other butt cheek gently in a friendly albeit condescending manner before she pulled his pants back up again. The Nurse placed a warm hand on Bastion shoulder with a sympathetic look.

"This gentleman will be fine...The shot will help with the pain and help with the clotting of his injury..." She leaned in close to his ear to smile. "To be honest we could have put the needle in his arm but after you restrained him that way and  the way he was reacting.... I had to..." chuckling gently before pulling back and turning to face Marik. "Sir you're fine to go. Drink lots of water and that spot on your umm.. bottom will be sore for awhile. So perhaps don't sit on it."

And with that Marik was escorted back out with a sour look whilst rubbing his behind. "Alright I've had it, I want back home, I don't care if you blow the guards to smithereens Bastion... I can stand another moment in this carriage!"

As the nurse put a sympathetic hand on his shoulder Bastian's normal stoic mask shifted slightly to reveal a slightly long-suffering look for an instant, though it was gone as quickly as it had come. He then followed Marik out of the clinic before the lordling gave him the rather unreasonable order to get him home by any means necessary. He sighed internally but spoke nonetheless, "Very well sir, be prepared to take responsibility." Having thus uttered what was likely his longest sentence in the last while, the large man began to make his way towards the bridge that connected the Middle Cars to the Front Cars with his charge in tow.

Upon reaching their destination Bastian checked over what equipment he had, which consisted of three grenades on his belt, his two knives, and his revolver. Normally he'd be more heavily armed, Marik's enemies were many, but as he had been at the party he was more lightly equipped so as not to scare the guests. Unfortunately that courtesy had come back to bite him. That being said, he had his orders and as such he would have to make due with what he did have. With his check done he looked over at the door to the bridge in order to scope out his opposition, counting at least twenty or so. Following that, as he began to formulate a plan he began to hear the sounds of combat from behind him, though he couldn't quite figure out from what exactly. However, before he could turn to see what it was, a man clad in red streaked out from a nearby alleyway holding a large sword. Bastian watched as the newcomer charged at the guards, taking two down with fluid strikes before the rest could react. Realizing his opportunity, Bastian shoved Marik behind a nearby building, instructing him to remain there with a simple "Stay here," before grabbing a grenade from his belt, pulling the pin, and lobbing it at the guards who were furthest away from the swordsman, the ensuing explosion killing three and wounding two more. The bodyguard then drew his revolver and advanced towards the confused guardsmen, firing off two shots and hitting one man in the arm before he got into melee range. He quickly found himself with three men in front of him, one with a club, another with a pistol, and the third with a knife. As the man with the gun leveled it at him Bastian stepped forwards, smacking the gun to the side as it discharged and jamming the barrel of his own gun into the man's throat with enough force to crush his voice box. He then spun, pistol-whipping the man with the club in the face and breaking his nose before stepping to the side to throw a shoulder into the man with the knife, causing the guard's arm at him to bounce harmlessly off of his back and thus thwarting an attempt to slash at him. Then, as the off-balance guard staggered, Bastian took his legs out from under him with a sweep-kick and then proceeded to shoot him in the face while he was on the ground, turning to the guard with the broken nose to shoot him as well. All of that having happened within the space of four seconds or so. By that time, the man in red had managed to kill four more men with his deft sword strikes, leaving nine or so men still fit for combat left to fight through.

Adrenias was intrigued at the supposed 'good things' Lilanna claimed what her tea can help with, after all he was a man of science, but he wasnt very into biology. Anatomy of various creatures yes, but other than that he didn't know anything about herbs or the raw parts of medicines. "How do you know which herbs or plants do which? did you learn from your parents? a mentor?" He accepted the tea from Lilianna and stirred it with the spoon she gave him. "i could probably show you the city i grew up in, although i'm pretty sure you've been to the capital already. i've never really been to the countryside" looking down at the tea it did give off a rather swear aroma that called out to him to drink it. He rose the cup and tilted it toward Lilianna in a gesture off friendliness. "Maybe tomorrow i'll show you my shop?" he half-joked.

Lilianna put down her spoon on a small napkin and spoke "Well when you're raised by Alves that know what the plants are, its hard to tell who really knew what the plants are and what they do from the way beginning. But you can tell by how they look, taste or smell. But I did learn from my parents." she brought her cup to her lips and took a sip, finding the tea still hot before placing it back down. "I've been to the city once or twice. Maybe I'll have you come with me to my home when the train stops off at the station." the Alf informed him and then added "Just be warned I will be staying home till the next time the train comes, so I hope you'll be willing to stay for that long. Dont worry, you'll have a home to stay in and food, and water. I promise you wont die" she joked before giggling softly and giving him a warm smile when he tilted his cup towards her in friendliness. Then he actually asked her about showing her his shop "I think that's a great Idea! I love seeing other shops and the interesting things that are held inside. Especially when they're hand crafted. Speaking of, what made you start to build dolls? Was it a hobby or something you actually looked forward to doing in life? Dont worry, I wont judge." after all, she's seen two of his dolls already and they were amazing even though the large doll was quite...scary in its own way. Nonetheless it was still a very well made Doll.  The alf brought the tea to her lips and took a light sip, trying to be careful not to burn her tongue because that was one thing she hated to do most...get a burned tongue.

Adrenias drank from the cup of tea that was rather hot but it the taste was definitely worth it, he put down the cup o'l tea and looked up when Lilianna asked about his shop and profession. "well, ever since i could remember i was always playing around and taking apart mechanical parts from clocks and things..." He looked down at the cup watching the ripples and waves. "when i got to Crespasulyx Academy that only made me want to learn and making more mechanical things. It wasn't until Dolls were introduced did i become absolutely obsessed with them." He smiled with a shrug. "It kinda feels like making life." Arenias looked back at Sarma who was still looking outside. "The spider was the first one i built and sarma there is one of my most recent ones." Looking back at Lilianna again "plus Its expensive but it makes a lot of money, dolls benefit the smart and i personally don't seem them dying down soon, i actually foresee dolls becoming a common sight." He put a hand to his chin daydreaming. "Dolls could replace people that do the overly dangerous jobs, they could survive in almost any environment, and take a lot of punishment." now hes nodding to himself "They could probably even replace the police force"

After a few more bouts of rambling about dolls and their mechanics Adrenias realized that Lilianna might not actually be interested in the topic. "Oh, um, i hope i am not boring you with this subject." he smiled at her. "Perhaps its time for me to show my shop?" Adrenias got up and finished the delicious tea. Sarma quietly turned her head around to him.

Rota Ravven

Middle Carriage, Sides Shop

Middle Carriage, Sides Shop

"well at least I wont have to worry about thinking of boy names I guess" He chuckled to himself, clapping his hands together "well I'll have to get a ring made but let's deal with what going on out there first?" seeing her smile for the first time before leaning closer to him and placing her lips to his in a touching display, tears of happiness welling in her eyes. taking his arms around her and just enjoying the close embrace for what seemed an age content to remain there forever. When suddenly the silence and moment was broken by a rapping at the door stores door that seemed to get more frantic as they banged outside the locked door. even though there was the spear tip protruding through the door itself, Sides pulled himself away slowly getting up and moving to vault over the counter of his shop reaching under the bench to produce a worn but functional pump action shotgun and a box of shells. The tops of which had been sealed over with wax having improved upon the simple birdshot that they contained. Slotting the shells into the under side before cycling the action of the scatter gun and slinging it over his shoulder placing the remaining shells into the large pockets of his pants pulling on a belt with a long bayonet sheathed before making his way over to rota to pick her up off her feet the banging now progressed to slamming as whoever outside wanted to get in. all of a sudden it stopped a few muffled shots rang out then similar slamming happened against the door. "we have some unwelcome customers I believe perhaps we should escort them off my property?"

Tales_of_berseria_818766.jpg Rota Raven

This was perhaps the first time in all these months that Rota had finally let herself ago. Well, more then a few months to be fair. She had grown up her entire life being a stone cold face and brick wall, allowing no one or nothing to get near her. The strongest and most combat efficient in her entire Clan and Clan Leader had she agreed to it. Instead, she left to explore more of the world and the Train which circumvented it. It was funny now she thought about it, even after everything that happened to her in the Lower Carriage and the months of recovery, even after all that, it was only the night that she had met Sides and he had offered her a position as a paid Body Guard did Rota really relaxed. She might have even smiled that night though the whole thing was very hazy from the sheer amount of alcohol she had downed.

She couldn't help but feel oddly attached to the shorter Dokkalf. He might not have been as combat ready as she was but she'd watched him punch out a thug or two from their old shop which made a soft, amused grin flood her face. She'd like to think her old Clan would be proud of him as her surrogate but then her Clan didn't much like any outsiders. It was just a taboo thing, women left and came back pregnant to birth more Valkyries. And the more she thought about it, just did she expect to hide it from him eventually? The child would eventually be born with wings after all..

Her musing halting with the rapping on the door as her yellow hawk eyes almost instantly narrowed down and her teeth became gritted underneath pierced lips. She realized with a start all her long range weaponry was in her room, which unfortunately was quite a distance away from the shop and the sounds of not very happy people rolling around outside. That was when Sides popped up behind her and hoisted the tall dark haired girl off her feet, causing a huge meep to escape suddenly as she was lofted high, though she did snatch out her hand to reef the Spear straight from the door's surface. "People. Lots of them. Sounds like a Riot outside.. I can only assume something to do with that Top Carriage incident." Her eyes drifting to look to Sides and her voice dropping even quieter then normal as she looked to his face. "I can't fight close quarters." She said, the statement probably obvious but she needed to reiterate it. And all she carried was a spear. "But I'll do whatever you need me to Bos-... Seidhr..."

Marik Elswood II

Marik glanced around at the assortment of people who had unwillingly (or maybe willingly in the crazy girl's case) Mitchs98 Mitchs98 , gathered around the Lordling, before he waved his spare hand and basically tried to convince the random people to follow. Well, rather he didn't really care what Mister Chop hand did, but as long as he didn't touch him he figured he would be fine. revior revior . He followed wordlessly and still rubbing his sore bottom, well up until the point that Bastian shoved him none to gently behind a building, the momentum of the push seeing him half slam into a wall and causing a high pitched whine of pain to escape. Mykinkaiser Mykinkaiser

The smaller pretty weak guy peeked a head out as he watched Bastian lob a grenade or two at the Guards near the Top Carriage entrance, followed by.. well more shooting and yelling and combat that he honestly had no idea about. So Marik, with his completely untrained battle scene, decided this was the moment he would throw his hands up in the air and run around in circles like a scared little girl before then turning and running straight in towards the fight! It wasn't bravery, far from it, more just an idiot in a panic running towards the problem not away from it.

"BASSTTIAAANNNN!"
He screamed as he did. "PROTTECCTT MEEEEEEE!!!!" Drawing an even greater and unwelcome attention to himself.
