Quincy Thompson

Q
uincy Thompson woke up early in the evening on his firm but yet comfortable queen-size mattress. His restful slumber was interrupted from the almost innumerable amount of notifications he received on his iPhone. The many messages that were sent to him were about a fancy ball taking place, and the students of Fellwood High were planning to crash the fun for the ones who were actually invited to attend.

Quincy gave some thoughts on whether he should go or not; knowing that formal gatherings were not really his thing. He hasn't seen the light of day ever since the incident and ever since Spring Break started. He thought that it would be best to actually see a few friends on this troubling occasion, without being harmed from the burning sun. With that in mind, it did not take long for him to make up his decision and get ready.

He took a quick shower and did the best to groom himself. As he finished he got his so-called "business casual" fit together with his pretty good-looking glasses, one of his favourite dirty sneakers in his collection on feet, the retro Jordan IV "White Cement", and his New York Yankees cap to top it off. Quincy looked like he was trying his hardest to be noticed from his informal streetwear appearance.

Thompson tiptoed out of the front door, praying that both of his parents did not hear his exit. However, unfortunately, Thompson wasn't able to use his mother's car since she strictly forbids him to drive around with her vehicle in the middle of the night, knowing how careless her own son could get. So another way of transportation for him to get to the ball was to ride his own BMX that he bought for himself last summer.

🤘🏾

Quincy finally arrived at the grand and superabundant ball, but just by Thompson being there alone he felt quite out of place; trading stares from successful and highly affluent people was not what he was accustomed to, but he will not let that get in the way of him trying to have a good time. His task at hand now was to seek out any of his friends that he hadn't seen in a while.

"Alright, let's get this party started I guess," he told himself, with a confident and sly chuckle.

It was 20 minutes after she arrived and she has already seen the bottom of four of her glasses. Gin and T always soothes the soul. She smiled to herself, swirling her drink with the purple stir stick the bartender decorated her drink with. She watched as the bubbles from the tonic water floated from the bottom of her glass to the top. She pressed the home button on her phone and checked the time, it was going by very slowly. Ava took a deep breath and peered around, looking for a familiar face and found herself feeling very alone. I hope nobody here thinks I'm a total loser. All alone in a crowd filled with so many new faces, she felt overwhelmed, even with the alcohol in her system. She looked over to the bartender and smiled at him.

"Can you hit me up with another? And this time, hold the tonic." She winked at him playfully.

As he made her order, Ava watched as a group of serious looking men walked through the doors, chills shot down her spine as soon as she saw them enter the party.

They seem like bad news..

And kind of cute.

It wasn't long after their arrival that she spotted Selene. She picked up her untouched drink and made her way over to her, or at least, attempted to. There were so many bodies in the way of her and her friend that she got lost in the battlefield. "Selene!" She called, her body was being jolted from left to right slightly with each person she passed. Finally, she made it with her glass now half empty.

"Great," she paused. "Now I'll need another." She smacked her forehead softly with her palm.

Mica's eyes had been darting for Joseph, unable to locate him even though she had come back. The frantic feeling grew deep inside her stomach. The sinking feeling in her chest began to rise until her eyes saw him, he was so tall and his lighter hair made it easier for her to locate him. She knew they didn't know each other well but that didn't make her feel less stressed about any rejection. The fact that she saw him coming towards her caused her anxiety to lessen a little. However, the excitement of seeing Jospeh made her feel like she was desperate for attention and she wasn't it was just the way he spoke to her and looked at her. He looked at her like she wasn't crazy or weird, he looked at her like she was just like anyone else.

As she let her footsteps guide her to Joseph her heart was beating thinking of the last words he had said to her. How could he know he wanted to be more than friends when he didn't know her well except for the occasional stop in at the bookshop. Her eyes may have lingered on him too long when he came into the store but she had never spoken to him unless to ring up his purchase total but usually a new worker was the one to ring up totals while she took care of organizing and making the orders for new books to be shipped in and out. For her being up front was rare but every so often she would catch sight of the beautiful boy. Now, there he was standing right in front of her with a smile that was directed solely on her. The contact of his eyes caused Mica to feel more uncomfortable than she had anticipated. She looked up at him his aura shining bright around him and she automatically felt calmer. "Hi." she breathed out a smile on her face, "Where did we leave off?" the smile still on her face as she spoke to the boy that hadn't let his focus leave her.

Malachi watched as Selene tried her charms on the guards with mild distaste in his gaze. He leaned against the whole on his side, his gaze drifting away in disinterest as the interaction went on, his gaze catching the sight of a sizable number of people filtering in to the entrance, all dressed up and engaging in light conversation. Malachi narrowed his eyes ever so slightly, an uneasy feeling tugging lightly at his instinct, bordering on suspicion as he kept his eye on the group. Malachi never ignored a gut instinct - and as he gazed on, a tall, dark-haired figure at the head of the small gathering caught his gaze.
It was a man, looking no older than your average college student, and to Malachi's surprise, the man seemed to be looking straight at him, with a gaze so furious and full of malice, it made the youth tense up in a state of alarm. Yet, all it took was a blink of the eyes, and it was gone - the man's face had returned to a perfect state of calm and tranquility, making the young man wonder if he had even seen it at all.

Malachi's eye remained on the man until something caught his attention once more; it was subtle, like ocean waves dissipating over one's feet, leaving a tingling sensation that brimmed beneath his skin. Malachi blinked for a moment, vaguely remembering what the significance of this feeling was; he had felt it quite a few times back in London, and it had doubled the moment he had come from Fellwood. Mike had told him when he had first come to Fellwood that it was a hunter's sixth sense, and it was only triggered when a supernatural was about to, or was in the process of, using their supernatural abilities. Malachi thought it was all a bunch of rubbish in the beginning, but as time went on and Malachi was further exposed to the strangeness of Fellwood, the young skeptic couldn't help but begin to doubt himself. It was an unpleasant feeling, being uncertain, and ever since the horrific death of his uncle, Malachi had almost constantly been on uncertain and uneven grounds with himself and those around him. Some could say the youth was going down a downwards spiral, and to those Malachi could neither confirm not deny it. Some days would be better than others, for sure (aided by his anti-depressants of course), and yet, when it came to those 'other' days, Malachi would find himself in a deep, dark place in the depths of his mind, much like the dark, hollowed ice cream parlour in his nightmares, where pain and desolation kept him trapped, and the only respite he could turn to was the numbing sensation of alcohol and the euphoric highs of smoking. Up until about six months ago, the youth really had little to no idea that he had come from a long, powerful line of hunters, whose family name had been stained and hidden away for decades for the historical atrocities they voluntarily took part in. Little did he know, the same night his uncle was murdered that had triggered his powerful telekinetic abilities, was also the same night that had triggered the boy's hunter's sixth sense.

The same exact sixth sense that was being triggered right now, as Malachi stood up straighter, his eyes narrowing at the sight of Selene now gripping the shoulder of one of the guards, her pupils suddenly starting to dilate and shrink. Malachi blinked for a few moments, unable to believe what he had just seen. It was quick, the occurence, stopping almost as quickly as it had started, and once again, Malachi found himself doubting what he had just felt and seen. The ADHD-addled questions, however, did not hesitate to whirl through his mind, persisting like the annoying alarm ringtone in the morning.

Was Selene a supernatural? If so, what kind? Vampire? Werewolf? Witch? Some other blasted monstrous thing he hadn't heard of before? Could Mike tell him, since he was far from getting a handle on all these things? Was it possible that he was sleeping with a supernatural? What would his mother think? Did all this have to do something with that man who had stared death at him?

Malachi was so deep in his whirlwind of thoughts that he almost jumped out of his skin when Selene appeared by his side, entangling her arm with his, and proceeded to guide him through the doors that the guards, suddenly so complacent, had opened for them. Malachi, who was still tense after all the mind boggling questions, could only afford to offer a light, rapid smile back at Selene at her comment about the guards, before it disappeared. Malachi couldn't help but glance behind his shoulder one last time as they retreated further into the mansion, a flashback of that man's murderous glare causing a slight shiver down his spine. If looks could kill, he thought, returning his gaze back to the front.

Malachi was so troubled in his thoughts that he didn't notice his ever-increasing pace matching his rapid heartbeat, nearly dragging Selene at this point, as if he wanted to get away from her. The creeping sense of social anxiety borne from not having been at gathering such as this in months, began to ghost in, brought on by his ADHD, and he felt the urge to seek out his meds to calm his disorder down. As discreetly as possible, Malachi tried to tap his pockets to see if the meds were there, without notifying Selene. The meds were not there. Malachi looked around wildly for a moment, spotting a lovely table full of wines and spirits just sitting there, only a mere ten feet away, asking to be consumed. Malachi glanced at Selene for a moment to make sure she wasn't looking and put his free hand behind his back. He glanced back at the table, and with a swift gesture, used his telekinetic abilities to swig a bottle right into the palm of his hand, quickly, efficiently and as discreetly as possible. Malachi immediately felt his pulse slow down just slightly, calmed with the knowledge that alcohol was in hand.
Malachi, however, was still not satisfied; he spotted a desserts table much farther away (on the other side of the room, in fact), and heard his stomach cry out in protest. His anxiety was still alive and well, and troubled as he may be, Malachi nevertheless raised his slightly trembling fingers, trying to manipulate a scrumptious looking mini pie-tart in the air.

The small dessert raised itself in the air shakily, matching the trembling in Malachi's long, elaborate fingers. With each second, it rapidly began to levitate and weave between unsuspecting, (perhaps drunk) guests; around a lady's hooped gown, over top a gentleman's shoulder, weaving between legs and dresswear as it made it's way to Malachi. He had to admit, he wasn't as well-practiced as Mike insisted he be, so they could be ready when the inevitable between hunter and supernatural occurred. Malachi, in all his glorious lazy and sarcastic skepticism, more or less refused, and now, he was paying for it; the trembling in his hand was messing with his control of the dessert, and it began to wave away from it's path, increasing it's speed at an alarming rate, zig zagging in all sorts of ways until---

It made landfall. Well, it was more like a crash landing, a surprise snow ball attack except it was a pie tart. Where, might you ask?

Right on the back of Kamaria tu Nekbhet Aten's head.

Malachi stared, wincing quite visibly from behind, only a few feet away from the woman herself. Then, almost without thinking, he blurted out, that Cockney accent unmistakable.

Her ball was going along smoothly so far. She had gotten numerous compliments on her decorating skills and her look for the night. Kamaria didn’t need to be complimented to know how talented and stylish she was, but it was still a delight to hear that someone appreciated her work. With a glass of wine in her hand she stood before a group of her peers, chatting about work and other things. Kamaria could read their jealousy quite easily, it reached out to her and if possible her skin would have crawled. She took a sip of her wine as she exchanged pleasantries with them.

“Well I was thinking of taking a vacation to Italy in the future I-“ Kamaria was cut off by weight on the back of her head and the feel of something sticky slowly trailing down her back until it hit the floor. The group before her went silent as did those close enough to witness what happened. Kamaria froze, the glass in her hand threatened to shatter in her grasp. The vampire straightened, like a predator making itself bigger in front of its prey. Sensing the tension those in front of her stood stiff. She took a breath, willing herself to be calm. To remember who she was surrounded by. But then she heard him. That accent was annoyingly unmistakable. Kamaria felt a thread within her snap.

Slowly she turned to face the dead man walking. And when she locked eyes with him Kamaria conveyed all the malice that she was feeling to him with one look. With as much dignity that she could muster Kamaria walked approached him. She stopped only just before their chests would touch. “Malachi ...what a surprise to see you here. I certainly don’t remember writing out an invitation with your name or address on it.” She said lowly.

“Not only did you somehow sneak into my home like the slippery little creature that you are and dressed so atrociously as well. You’re going to regret ever stepping foot into my house. I will deal with you and if you decide to turn off, I’ll hunt you down like the prey that you are.” Kamaria then seemed to take note of his companion.

She gave the woman a slow once over, looking rather unimpressed at what she saw. Any other time Kamaria would have surely complimented her on her dress but not now. “And you brought along a friend, how sweet.” Kamaria finally locked eyes with her, her gaze sharp and intense. Without another word Kamaria whirled around, smacking Malachi with her hair sharply. As the hostess sauntered off, with worrying servants in her wake the crowd began to buzz.
....she's a monster."

PAIN

It was resonant. It was severe. Yet Mike did not care. Years of exposure to it had stripped down all shock from it, all of the debilitation that accompanied it. No, pain was an integral part of his being. The mask caused it for a reason. This had been one of the things he had the most difficulty understanding during his training. The pain addled his senses, made his movements shaky and unstable. Yet his father insisted. "The Enchantments make it so for a reason, Michael. The pain must not be your enemy. The pain shall be your only ally. In time, you will understand".

And he understood. He had been sitting there for hours when he finally caught sight of the vampire. It's aura was even stronger-clearly, it had feasted in the most perverse of ways, again. It's skin was practically glowing, sign that this fiend had one square meal too many. It was perusing the gardens, as if waiting for something... A victim, clearly. Mike felt his heartbeat quicken, pounding so loud he could feel it in his skull. He felt all the pain, the straps digging into his face, the demon's ethereal hooks through his skin. All his pain, all his grief over the sight of those lifeless young bodies, innocent people who did not deserve to die just so a fiend can be sated. He felt it all, and his Pain turned to rage. He felt strength coursing through his veins, an Iron determination moving his limbs. There was a faint, otherworldly light in the eyes of the mask. Slowly, he approached, making disturbingly little noise for someone his size and bulk. The vampire still appeared utterly oblivious to his fate. He summoned his main weapon, the crude blade reforged from the Remnants of his Father's elegant one. It was not pretty, and it was no masterwork-but the runes on it were the same. It would burn the fiend, and it would wound it. Just like the chainspear.

He drew ever closer, now standing less than fifteen paces from the vampire. Then, with one swift motion, he launched the chainspear. the head sailed through the air, landing cleanly on Leoric's back, the pincers closing around the impact. In a split second, he yanked the vampire back, his rage and magic of the chain amplifying his Strength. He firmly held onto the grip of the chain, securing him in place, while he delivered two brutal stabs to his right knee.

"End of the Line, Old One" He bellowed, spitting the title. His voice sounded somehow both deep and high in pitch at the same time-as if though both a very angry human and an even angrier demon were speaking in sync. His eyes were now fully glowing with rage as he raised the Machete to strike again, seeking to fully capitalize on his ambush.

The two enchanted weapons Mike uses have the following shared enchantment: They ignore a considerable percentage of a Vampire's/ Werewolf's/ whatever's resistance to regular damage. This translates to a searing pain to accompany the wounds, as if though the weapon itself is red-hot. Of course, this does not come anywhere near completely negating the resistance: While they can wound and cause pain, it will take some hits before damage comparable to the effect of the weapon against a normal human. A secondary effect of the enchantment is it can break wards/ magical shields/ bindings etc. Again, not without some effort.

The chainspear has the added effect of having some moderate telekinesis etched into it, used mainly for ease of use and to amplify Mike's strength while he's reeling stuff back. Escaping from getting impaled is possible, but you'd have to aggravate the wound by pulling them out. Nothing too major in terms of damage ofc. It can also be used as a regular shank if the chain is wrapped around his hand completely, or as a more normal chain weapon if the situation asks for it.

Just putting all these out here for clarity!

Cassandra returned with Klaus' drink, shaking her head. "Unfortunately, our host doesn't seem to have a good beer selection. I hope you like Budweiser, because that's all we've got today." The demon summoner herself had a glass of red wine. "So, tell me, cutie, what's your story? How did you get mixed up with your partner there?" She shrugged. "Yes, I know. That particular flavor of lore is my... specialty, shall we say. Perhaps they know the name Hellwhelp?"

Activity: Annoyed that her plans were now on a different path because of her sweet Malachi

Selene felt like her arm was being squeezed when they had walked in and she forgot that Malachi was the one holding her arm. He seemed shaken up about something, though what could it be that has him so afraid? Selene wondered as they entered into the grand room where the gala was taking place. Everyone wore beautifully expensive dresses, and you could tell because of the way they tried to walk. People who fit into this kind of scene, their bodies looked relaxed yet poised, and those who didn't look as though their bodies were stiff and tense. Kind of like how Malachi looked for the moment, though she knows that he has money, it is just the fact that he is stiff is why Selene was curious. Just moments ago he was relaxed, could he have felt the same spine-chilling sense that she felt? Selene as she was compelling the guards, felt as though she was being stared at, but it felt familiar. This distant presence that lingered in the shadows, was it the cause of Malachi's change of behavior? He was even quieter than usual, Selene, before she went in, she did look over her shoulder to see who or what was staring so hard. As she looked or was about to make eye contact with the faraway figure, she had to do a double take.

Nicholas?

Selene shook her head, it couldn't be. He is dead right? As dead as he can be, at least to me. No, I am probably still hungover from last night and I am just imagining things. She lied to herself as questions swarmed her thoughts.

Selene swiftly lifted a drink from the waiter's tray as he was passing by and brought it up to her dark lipstick stained lips and took a sip. Selene had heard the sounds of a young familiar girl by the name of Ava calling out to her, but for a moment Selene had seen her and wanted to wave but the crowd had increased and blocked their pathway of getting to each other. Selene thought that for the moment it was better that way since she had a mission of retrieving something and then leaving.

As she took a few sips of the fizzy drink that danced on her tongue, she looked around the room for the beautiful women by the name of Kamaria. Kamaria had taken or more like buying something that was once hers; a ring that was accompanied by a gold necklace. Selene had this ring for centuries, it was a token that her love, Nicholas, had given to her. The thought of the ring brought back so many memories for Selene, memories that she hoped to had buried deep within her mind.

**flashback starting**
Selene was a young maiden during the time and madly in love with a young lad by the name of Nicholas. She had met Nicholas at church one night when service had ended, and at that moment Selene had felt something that she had never felt before. The feeling of when you first make eye contact with them and feel as though the whole world around you melts away and the people are merely just statues left for the imagination to fill. Ever since that day, they had been inseparable, though Selene had been the first to speak of her fondness for Nicholas, Nicholas had not felt the same for her. He and the other boys of the village didn't believe in love at first sight, they thought it was some made up bedtime story to fill their minds with false information. Selene knew it was to be true because no guy had ever made her have butterflies in her stomach nor feel the utter safeties that his presence brought when she was around him.

After a year had gone by the two had courted and were happy seeing each other, though she still had her hopes that Nicholas didn't truly love her like he did. Until the day of her birthday when he gave her a sentimental gift and what came along with the gift was three sweet and simple words that could have made Selene very happy.

I love you

It was a special night for her, all her doubts, worries and suspicions had been washed away with those simple words and the ring he gave her was a promise. A promise that he would forever be in her heart even when they felt like they would be miles away. Not to mention that he had been practicing a spell that would allow the ring to capture the rate of their pulse whenever the ring was worn by one another.

"Now, whenever you and I are apart. When you wear the ring you will feel the soft rhythms of my heart, it just means that my heart is still beating for you and only you."
**flashback ending**

Selene was sure that this was the man she was to be wed too, this man that showed her that his love is stronger than anyone else. But when Selene had told him that she would do the experiment for him, she did not want for her ring to get dirty so she hid it in a place that she could find. When she had woken up weeks later, her emotions and memories of that night had clouded her mind and made her forget that she had hidden the ring. Selene searched acres for that ring and when she finally asked around a merchant during the 1700s recalled selling a ring he had found in the forest to a beautiful dark rich tone of a woman named Kamaria. And by the way, her name had lingered on his lips made it sound like she paid a very pretty sum for it too.

Tonight was finally the night that she would take back her ring, the ring that would tell her whether Nicholas was alive and that his heart still beats for her and her only. Selene did feel guilt in the depths of the gut when reality snapped her back; she was here with Malachi. How could she do this, use the young man for her personal gain? Selene tried to shake the feeling of that lingering guilt away as her ears picked up a sudden gasp and her vision followed.

Selene followed the stares of everyone to a woman who was now covered in a delicious dessert. She found her, although this is not how she would envision her first interactions with the women. Selene turned to Malachi before she looked at Kamaria was now in front of them. The whole room was staring at them and Selene had already planned on now having the attention on them since they weren't exactly invited and the women with the long black silk-like hair made it known.

Selene watched as her hair smacked Malachi in the face and if she didn't move her face, it would have gotten her as well. The way Selene had seen the interaction between the two, she knew that they probably had a history together, and suddenly Selene didn't feel so guilty.

"Are you serious Malachi? How in the world did you even get her all mad when you were right next to me?" Selene asked him as she unhooked her arm from his, resting them in front of her chest as she waited for an explanation.

ain shout out in a radial direction from his Right shoulder blade to the tips of that hand. He let out a guttural roar that blasted out into the quietness of the gardens. He quickly analyzed what was going on. His leg was completely ragged, mangled from the multiple stabs to his joints. A chain hung from his back, embedded into it by a rough-worked spearhead. Leoric weighed his options silently in his head while grabbing the chain. He quickly reversed his step and pulled the long chain, which should have resulted in its owner careening toward him. It felt as if he was moving the Earth himself, but the Old One raised an eyebrow at the strength of his attacker.

"I don't know who you are or how you got here," The vampire cracked his neck as he neared his new prey, "But you will learn respect." Leoric said with a keen edged coldness. This person would be ground into the dirt when he was done with them. The vampire tried to pull the spear from his back but felt it dig further as his attempted. Leoric looked upon his attacker with venomous hatred. "Who exactly are you, you snake?" he asked, growing angrier as the seconds passed by.

D
arius Washington made sure that he did not arrive unreasonably late to the formal gala; showing up too early for a social occasion was one thing for Darius—but making an appearance behind time was just downright unacceptable for a man such as himself.

He wore an exquisite custom-made woollen suit jacket, with designer glasses, and had a nice whiff of one his many expensive colognes, which he thought would be suitable to lightly spray on himself for an event like this one. Dressing in such fashion is not really Washington's style he would say, but he felt the need to make a very good impression at this gathering—and a very good impression comes with being presented and dressed at your best.

Darius was having a seat around the bar enjoying a few glasses of pleasant drinks as well as treating himself to some appetizing refreshments that were served delightfully well. This was not how he planned his evening to go out, but he would admit that it was better than conversing with stuck-up rich folks. Besides, Darius did not feel obligated to take up a conversation with anybody tonight other than the bartender.

With his towering stature, beefed-up built, and overall physical profile, Darius thought that he would make many people feel intimidated and unnerved. So rather than letting people question how tall he was, or look at him in awe because of his sheer size, he sat by himself taking a sip of alcoholic beverages and surveyed everyone around him in attendance.

The sheepish, childlike smile that had graced Malachi's features in hopes of appearing less in fault in this particular situation, seemed to have little to no effect as he watched the dark-skinned vampiress slowly turn towards him. His smile faded, replaced by a grim expression, slight concern and alarm spelled out in his features as he locked gazes with Kamaria; her dark, tenebrous eyes stared murder into him, and if looks could kill, Malachi knew he would've dropped dead in a moment.
And to his surprise, an all too familiar feeling of fear began to build up within him as she approached him, her head still held high to conserve whatever dignity she had left that had not gone with the rest of the pie tart, now squashed and splattered all over the floor. It reminded him of that night in the streets of Newham, when the vampire that had feasted on his uncle perceived his presence and turned, locking eyes with Malachi, who had been nothing more than a boy, stalking towards him, with a murderous and predatory gaze that Malachi would give his bloody left leg to erase from his mind forever.

It was this same gaze etched in Malachi's memory that the youth saw in Kamaria at this very moment; it made Malachi terrifyingly aware of two things - she was the predator, and he was the prey.

It was a conflict of pride and fear; choosing whether to fight or to fly away, and thankfully, Malachi was keen enough to know that it was neither - he was no coward, but he was no 'courageous' fool either. Nevertheless, pride was the better man of the two; Malachi stood his ground, feet planted and kept his gaze solid with Kamaria, his expression a picture of composure and aplomb, tinted with a hint of what some might interpret as arrogance. He kept his stance even as Kamaria came mere inches away from his face, her face upturned due to the difference in heights.
It was here, comically, that Malachi noticed two things.

The first one was obvious and simple, yet strange in the moment.

Kamaria was beautiful.

Despite her ugly words, Kamaria, in appearance, was breathtaking beyond compare. Of course, Malachi noticing the pleasing aspects of any woman's body was no surprise, especially when it came to Kamaria, to say the least. But this was somehow different. It was the 'beyond compare' part that Malachi seemed to be puzzled over, and for whatever reason, may it be hormonal or just a lapse in Malachi's control of himself or even the ADHD (who knew?), he found himself unable to focus and yet, paradoxically, observe things about Kamaria that he hadn't noticed before. In fact, as Kamaria began to speak, her tone low and deadly, Malachi found himself mesmerized, struggling to keep his eye level with Kamaria's eye as they fought the urge to roam and enjoy the specimen before them, hanging on to it's every move; the luscious, dark lips, the sheer closeness of their bodies, and those eyes...

The desire must've been plain in his eyes, for the very next thing Malachi felt was the sharp, nearly stinging slap of Kamaria's tresses as it made contact with his face, shaking him out of his trance. It felt like the sharp sting of ice-cold water to hungover senses, and Malachi immediately sobered up, realizing what planet he was on again. His gaze caught Kamaria sauntering off, a horde of worried, frantic servants trying to aid her after the fiasco. And it was here, that Malachi became aware of the second thing, which was unsettling, to say the least.

The Kamaria that had stood before him was a whole other creature than the Kamaria he thought he knew, and the contrast was especially unsettling when Malachi compared her to the Kamaria that had helped him that night in those very few months of Malachi coming to Fellwood.

The memories came rapidly and in flashes, simply because that night was thankfully the last night of many of Malachi's first nights in Fellwood getting flat-out drunk and high,. For what reason, Malachi barely remembered; he thought it was because he and his cousin Mike had gotten into an explosive fight of sorts (and where he learned of Mike's infamous temper), something over Malachi's disastrous self-destructive habits, borne from not being able to get along with each other at all in the beginning. Of course, thankfully, things have changed now, but it was no matter.
This specific night had him driving out in the dark drunk out of his mind, and whether it was chance or by fate, he managed to crash his car right into a tree in front of Kamaria's property.
The crash was a downright bloody nasty one - broken limbs and bloody bruises and all, and if it weren't for the surprising kindness of Kamaria, Malachi would've died that night.
Malachi would spend the first few months of his time in Fellwood in the care of Kamaria, and it was in that time that Malachi got to know a Kamaria that few were aware of. In the beginning, their interactions were pleasantly cold and to the point, but as time wore on, (and as Kamaria became gradually more and more exposed to Malachi's obviously charming British personality), the ice began to melt. They began to warm up to each other, and though they seemed like an odd pair, the potential of a connection was undeniable. Yet, it was a slow, painful process - Malachi came to realize that this woman was as mysterious and clandestine as he was, and it gave him no shortage of thrill to try and figure her out.

And figure her out he did. Almost. Malachi, in all his intellectual, keen detective-esque genius, had found out about one fact that triggered the finding of another, much greater fact. This first fact was that Kamaria in fact was a vampire. In the beginning of course, this was immensely concerning to Malachi - to think he was an esteemed guest in the house of his one of his family's greatest enemies, as well as part of the species that Malachi personally had a stake into, was more bothersome to him than the man would ever have liked to admit. Yet, that was not the fact that had hindered their amiable, blossoming relationship; it was the fact leading after the other, the one that involved Malachi, as curious and keen as ever, being pushed into digging more about the mysterious beauty and her equally as shrouded past. It was fair to say that he had come close, too close that was comfortable to deal with. As a result, due to the valiant efforts of some of the household staff, he was threatened to be exposed to the mistress of the household. And so, he left.

Without a word, without a note, nothing, not even fully healed. Some could say it was simply improper, or rude. But others could say that it was an insult, an action designed to hurt, out of spite of the fact that she had been vampire. Who knew, it could've have been all those things! Yet one fact remained; he had left, and Kamaria never knew why, despite the generosity, despite the time spent, despite that connection. Almost like a small betrayal.

Months have passed by, and it seemed few things have changed; the few times Malachi and Kamaria had met each other in that time period were brief, almost sweet, as if nothing had happened. And some could say that indeed nothing did happen, but Kamaria and Malachi were one of the few that knew it was foolish to take anything to face-value. There is almost something lurking underneath, and Malachi was positive that was what had come out tonight, no matter the pettiness (and equally bizarre) of the reason. Malachi couldn't help but keep his gaze on her for a little while longer, something close to guilt propping itself on his shoulders, until a certain date of his untangled herself rather forcefully from his embrace and confronted him, arms crossed and demanding an explanation.

Malachi offered a weak, devilish smile. "Ah, don' worry about it, love" he answered, shrugging it off as if it were nothing more than a little inconvenience, a little drizzle, when in reality it was more like a thunderstorm, brewing in the depths and ready to strike out at his sail at any moment. He glanced back at Kamaria, continuing, rather cryptically. "She's just a bi' rough around the edges from our las' encounter is all."

To keep her from prying any further, Malachi brought the wine bottle he had had behind his back all along, presenting it like some sort of prize, clearing his throat. "Wine, mademoiselle?" he proceeded to ask in a rather exaggerated French accent, his playful, party mask sliding over his features effortlessly, a hint of a playful smile ghosting his lips, as if to make up for the exposure of his true sentiments and for the rather nasty welcome they had just encountered.

Activity: Annoyed that her plans were now on a different path because of her sweet Malachi

Selene felt like Malachi didn't give her the answer that she wanted, and this evening was already not going as planned so she didn't want to make it even more terrible by poking him even more.

"One thing that I will have you know is that if she brings any drama between us and whatever we want to call this 'thing' between us. Then..." Selene brought her hand to assist her with the last part, "...this IS done." She drew an imaginary sharp line between them. Selene walked a few steps in front of him and smiled, "There is also something that I have come to retrieve so I will be back in just a few moments." Selene told him as she rested her hand on his chest. Selene really didn't know what he would think about her ditching him for a few moments, but she didn't know what to say. She had one mission, to get the necklace that Nicholas gave her, back. Not to be on a date with Malachi, right? She and he didn't even have a relationship, to begin with, it was just a 'fling' between a boss and an employee who find that in each other's companies they can release all of their emotions and pent up energy.

Selene bit her lips as she thought about it, she couldn't understand what she was doing with such a young man and one that is hiding secrets from her. Yes, she has been with young men such as Malachi, but not as long as this. Selene could have gotten an award for it, it was just something about the mystery of Malachi that she loved having him around. Even though she has not used her ability to touch him and see his memory, nor ask, she still wonders what his past life was like and what it could possibly have to do with Kamaria.

Selene looked up at him, as she felt like the crowds' eyes were finally slipping away from them and back to the party. "I am good for now, and I can be rough around the edges as well, what makes us so different?"

"You know Malachi..."
she continued, "...I am your boss and that means listening to what I tell you to do. I will be right back, don't stir any trouble while I'm gone, hun." Selene said as she leaned in and laid a gentle kiss on his lips. It was like a kiss of death that was touching his gentle lips, a kiss that held nothing but false hope for their relationship.

Fighting everything in her mind and body to not bite him right now, was hard; he had a speck of blood on his lower lip. Probably from not moisturizing his lips, or maybe from the roughness of last night. Selene gave a slight smile before she turned around and began to head towards the doors that opened up for her, her glass, still in hand as she took a sip. As she left the room, the door closed behind her and she was alone, except for the two guards that were at the door who opened the door for her. She first looked down the hall and then to her right, wondering which way she was going to go. She should have done a locator spell, but she didn't have the right materials and plus, she didn't have time for a locator spell.

Selene took her best bet by turning right and proceeding down the long wide hall that was decorated from top to bottom with grand vases that seem as ancient as her but kept in perfect condition. The drapes were a beautiful royal red color that showed everything that Kamaria is; rich, regal, and beautiful. Selene liked the taste, even though the richness of the hallway was a bit much, she thought it was beautifully decorated and resonated with Kamaria.

Selene was a woman on a mission, and nothing was going to get in her way.

((UPDATED)) She brushed back her hair that was fighting its way past her shoulders to be seen. Selene could hear some laughter coming from down the hall and the smell of strong booze that followed, a women who was tipsy and a man who was on the same level as her made their way to the bathroom. She shook her head and continued to open doors, finally deciding to head upstairs and the first door she found led to what looked like a study. Though down the hallway, she could smell heavy perfume coming from inside the room and opened it to see that it was Kamaria’s room.

Selene walked in and immediately felt a chill down her spine, was there a draft in the room? None of the windows were open, but she had gotten the same weird feeling that she got when she was outside. A familiar presence was in the room, but just like what she did a while ago, she shrugged it off.

Selene started with the dresser first, neatly looking through all of the draws and trying not to leave any messes behind that would blow her cover. This ring meant so much to her, not just because Nicholas spent most of his money on the ring, but because it made her feel connected to him, until she lost it.

Selene opened a door that led to the walk in closet that was about twice the side of hers, and hers was big. Selene used her speed to help her with this one, and by the time she was done, she still didn’t have the ring in her possession. And none of the beautifully extravagant jewelry that Kamaria had could hold any sentimental feelings that that ring had.

She walked back out into the room that sent chills down her spine and stood there pondering about where it could possibly be.

Nicholas could feel his emotions boil as he and the man made eye contact. Even through his anger, he could still detect that the stare was unusual. Almost as if the male was assessing him in some way. Nevertheless, Nicholas wasn't all too worried about being discovered through the use of his powers. His fells fell on to his right hand as he glanced at gem encrusted ring on his pointer finger. It was an item that aids in camouflaging himself from detection based magics and abilities. This is exceptionally useful when attending an area with such a high population of vampires and witches as his ring is capable of masking his aura and scent from the naked senses.

As thoughts of why Selene may be attending the gala, a sudden realization flooded his mind. While there was no doubt that the woman he'd saw was Selene, Nicholas was perplexed by something. If she was alive, why couldn't he had detected her presence through the ring that he'd gifted her so many centuries ago? Nicholas had gifted Selene the item not only as a step stone within their relationship, but also as something to let the other know of their lover's survival. As long as the two wore their rings, they could feel the beating heart of their other half no matter where they are. This alone, was a symbol of hope in their dire times.

Nicholas still remembered the origins of this idea rather clearly. While he and Selene's relationship hadn't started off at the best spot, it eventually spiraled into something that would accompany them for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, Nicholas and Selene was born in a time where their kind were prosecuted unjustly. Threats of being hunted down by fanatics or just those afraid fo the unknown were high. Nicholas couldn't bear the idea of being separated from Selene but knew that it was a possibility if it meant that both of them would survive. That's why he decided to gift her the rings. Not only did they represent their undying love for one another, it also symbolized hope. As long as they could feel each other's heartbeat, there's always hope that they would one day reunite.

But Nicholas hadn't felt the beat. In fact, he felt nothing at all. Could it be that Selene simply had disposed of it? No, she couldn't have. It was the only thing either fo them had to remind them of their past love. There was no way that she would've abandoned it so easily. With his right hand, Nicholas moved to caress the silver ring on his left ring finger. Still nothing.

That was when he decided to entertain an alternative idea. Closing his eyes, Nicholas began to cast an incantation upon his ring. The process took several minutes but it eventually confirmed his far fetched (but now proven accurate) speculation. He could sense the presence of the other ring within the mansion. More specifically, he could feel just where it was located.

The original plan for the night was for Nicholas to remain idle as his men did all the surveying and recruiting. However, he would've never had thought that his long lost love would be in attendance within this gala. With that, he must make a change to his plans.

"You all stay here. I'll be right back." Nicholas said to his entourage as he continued to eye the mansion.

"What? Sir, are you planning to go inside yourself? That wasn't part of the plan." The female voice from before asked.

"It is now." Nicholas replied, his voice intimidating and powerful. It was enough to cause the woman to fall into silence.

"Let us accompany you at least." A male voice added on.

"No, I have to do this alone. You all stay here." He repeated before making his way to the front entrance.

While most of his followers agreed to follow the orders they were given, there were several who still wanted to follow Nicholas as they feared for his safety. They were fortunately stopped by the others, who warned them of the consequences of insubordination.

Like his men before him, Nicholas paid no attention to the lines that formed at the door. Instead, he aimed directly towards the very front, where he would compel the guards to grant him entrance into the mansion. From what he could tell, the ring was located upstairs, pass the horde of attendees and guards. Fortunately for Nicholas, everybody's attention was redirected by the accident caused by Malachi. Ironically, Nicholas wasn't aware that the man that he'd hated so much had indirectly aided him in his endeavor.

Using the commotion to his advantage, Nicholas casted an illusion spell upon himself as he made his way upstairs. He would pass through a multitude of doors to rooms that he had no interested in. His target was a room near the corner where he was confident to find what both he and Selene was seeking after.

After entering the room, Nicholas didn't need to spend much time scavenging through Kamaria's belongings. He went straight towards one of her dressers as he silently pulled out a drawer containing a large container. Within it, Nicholas found an extravagant amount of jewelry. At first glance, he could tell that there was no fraudulent origins to them. Every single piece was real and priceless. But in Nicholas' eyes, only one contained any value. His eyes eventually fell on his prize, buried deep under many other accessories. Picking up the ring that he'd came for, Nicholas would place it into his jacket pocket. While Nicholas wasn't familiar with the owner of this home, he couldn't help but pity her for not realizing the true value of what she was in possession of.

Nicholas' plan didn't end here. He never intended to leave upon finding the ring. If he knew Selene well enough, then she would be not far behind. Just as expected, he could sense a familiar presence in the room right beside him. He could hear the urgent movements as Selene frantically searched every inch of that room. A small smirk fell on to Nicholas' face as shadows rose from the corners, enveloping his body within it. Just in time for the door to the room to open, revealing an all too familiar face.

Nicholas would watch with great curiosity and reminiscence as Selene searched through the room. It was as he had expected, she was indeed looking for the ring. The feeling of glee that he then felt was indescribable. After all these years, he was finally face to face with the love of his life again. Nicholas was debating on whether or not now was the time for them to reunite. Many things have changed over the course of these years and Nicholas felt that he needed to properly prepare before they were to reunite.

All such thoughts eventually went out the window when he saw Selene reenter the room. Deciding against his initial judgement, Nicholas decided to forsake the magic that hid him. He allowed the shadows to disperse from his body as he materialized back into his human form, revealing himself to Selene. There was a period of awkward but understandable silence as the two former lover's stared at one another, unsure of where to begin. More so for Selene as Nicholas was sure that she was still ignorant of his presence or even survival until now. Nevertheless, he was going to change that here and now.

"Hello, Lenie. It's been too long. You haven't changed a bit." Nicholas said with a smile, his voice and appearance both remain unchanged over the years.

Unlike Nicholas and Selene, Joseph is the type to believe in "Love at First Sight". He is a regular at the store that Mica worked at but his lack of attention towards those that work there was the reason that Mica never made an impression on him. That was until the night of the bonfire, where Joseph witnessed Mica in a new light. Not only because he was meeting her somewhere outside of work but he had bear witness to an extraordinary side of her, a side that most likely had never seen before.

Despite being experienced in the field of love, Joseph never managed to shake off the excitement and occasional nervous feelings that accompany it. In truth, he was happy to be able to experience such feelings as it made him feel more human to an extent. Joseph stopped mere inches away from Mica, his gaze striking into her eyes. She somehow looked even more beautiful than before despite having no changed at it. While undoubtably anxious, Joseph could tell that Mica was even more so from both her eyes and body language.

With an assuring smile, Joseph reached for Mica's hands, holding them up between them.

"You were just about to give me an answer to my question. Do you want to be my girlfriend?" Joseph reiterated.

Klaus is enjoying himself. Little did he know that all hell was literally breaking loose a few short yards away...

Klaus accepted the drink graciously, but not too graciously. He didn't want the refined woman thinking he was some kind of pushover.

"Ah! That was fast, thank you.” He sipped it gingerly, as if unsure about the taste. It was beer. And as far as beers went, it tasted very beer-like to him. Which, for anyone who has ever sipped on beer, tastes exactly what you imagine pickled cat piss might taste like. "My story? It's boring, really. I've always seen spirits, sometimes they hitch a ride. This one in particular, I think, is starting to like it in there.” He seemed so enamored with the fact that he had actually been approached and was being spoken to at a social gathering, that he completely missed the fact that she had just called him 'cute'.

Klaus spoke with an easy smile, and was met by the indignant snorting of a demon in his head. Though still quiet, he could hear the demon saying, I am starting to like nothing! Stop spreading your slanderous lies, mortal pig. But, in any event, he couldn't sense any recognition in the demon's demeanor. If he knew the name, he was hiding it very well.

"So, uh, what about you? Oh! And I'm Klaus, by the way.”

"Cassandra, at your service." The witch sipped lightly at her wine- thankfully, it actually was wine. She'd heard some interesting rumors about their host, but wasn't quite sure if any were true. "A spirit mage, eh? Interesting, very interesting. As for me, I guess you can file my ancestry under 'tiefling', for lack of better phrasing. Do some odd jobs these days, with a little bit of magical research on the side. It's a pretty good way to go about things, if I do say so myself." She looked at Klaus with interest. "Who is your friend, anyway? He seems similar to the circles I travel in, but there are some differences as well."

Stella Morgan

Stella had found a pathway that was not blocked by guards and decided that was her only option if she was going to sneak into the gala. She felt a bit bad about it, but that girl had told her that it would be a good way to meet people, so why not? She was told to sneak in the back, so she was hoping she was going in the right direction. She continued to walk the path. Jesus, this house was huge. Her heels clicked on the stone, but she did attempt to quiet them as she didn't want to alert anyone nearby. She rounded the corner into what look like gardens to see someone come out of one of the doors. Perfect. She was going to approach him and ask him to sneak her in. How was she going to do that? She had no idea. Whatever, she's successfully winged things like this in the past. She started moving to approach him when something sailed into his back. The familiar feeling of panic spread from her chest over her body.

She yelped, quickly smacking a hand over her mouth as she ducked around the same corner she came from. Her sympathetic nervous system activated and she was on high alert. She didn't know what to do. The attacker shouted something calling him an "Old One", whatever the hell that meant. She peeked her head around the corner to see this attacker had further injured his victim. It was scary, but the sight of the attacker shook her to her core. Her body was telling her to run, but years of managing panic attacks allowed her to keep control of her actions in situations of panic. There was something inhuman about it all. It just didn't seem right. Obviously, Stella had no idea that it was literally inhuman, there was just something about it that was so... off. She could hear her heart beating in her ears and felt it pounding in her chest.

She took a shaky breath in as her mind raced. She wanted to run, but she had no idea if there were any other attackers out there, so she decided to stay where she was. It didn't seem like they knew she was there and she wanted to keep it that way. What the hell was she witnessing? Why was that guy being attacked by some terrifying masked man? She didn't want to die. Not yet. She had so much left to do and she couldn't do that to her dad or sister, they already went through enough losing Mom. She pressed her back against the wall and took in another breath, trying her best to remain calm. Well, as calm as someone can be in this situation.

Mike struggled ferociously to hold his ground against the vampire. Despite it's uncomfortable posture, his enhanced strength, and the enchantments on the Chain, it took every ounce of his Strength to not be sent reeling at his prey. He thanked God Leoric had not noticed his presence. If this had been a fair fight, he had a feeling the roles of the two would've been reversed. He ignored the vampire's empty threats, proceeding to press the attack. He powered through the vampire's counterattacks and first slashed at his right shoulder, before plunging the machete into his arm, pinning it behind his back.

Years of training told him that he should finish this right here and now. He should set the vampire on fire, or even better, plunge a stake he kept in his belt right into it's heart. His father had always insisted that the hunt end as quickly as possible, for you did not get a second chance with such prey. Yet Mike didn't feel like it. He wanted the thing to suffer. He wanted to hear it's proud words turn to agonized screams, his threats turn into pleas for Mercy. To this end, instead of using his now free hand to grab either of these items, he instead retained his grip on the machete, dislodging it and delivering a second, agonizing slash to the vampire's arm. At the Vampire's question regarding his identity, he laughed, a demonic, dangerous laugh.

"My name is Mary. She'll never manage to go to that trip to Disneyland with her Father.
My name is Jacob. His Brother's birthday was in three days. Now he'll never be able to give him that beautifully crafted skateboard.

I am all your sins, Old One. All your crimes against humanity. I have come to render judgement. You will be the first of many.
...So scream, oh Old One. I want all your dear friends to hear what fate awaits them."

He once again pulled the machete from his shoulder and dug it hilt-deep into Leoric's side, twisting the blade so as to cause maximum pain. He was no longer worried. If the vampire couldn't escape before, it would certainly not escape now, not while it's wounds were mounting.

"LOUDER, FILTH! I WANT YOUR SCREAMS TO REACH THE HIGHEST PEAK IN HEAVEN AND THE LOWEST CAULDRON IN HELL!"

"Feel the hollowness inside of your heart...

"P
lease, for the love of God..." Lucifer huffed as he finally made it to the Gardens. He looked and saw a young girl, dressed in a delicate green gown. Her expression conveyed only fear and yet she seemed frozen in place. For good reason too, with the horrid screams coming from the direction where he could see two figures in the darkness. Lucifer stopped and changed his course, taking the girl by the hand.

"I need you to forget what you saw here," He said in gruff tones, "Go to the party and forget that you saw me or them for that matter. Never speak of it again." He wished he had the time to use a memory wiping enchantment but now was not the time to waste hoping for better consequences of actions. He threw his hand up in the direction of the nearest door and it opened to him as if it were commanded. "Off you go, sweetheart," he said quickly, pushing the girl inside and waving his hand to close the door. As he did, he could hear the agonizing sounds of stone-like flesh being torn and a recoiling scream that pierced the night. Lucifer turned and began approaching the source. As he walked, a flame jumped from the earth, following his tread as lightning arced in the sky.

"Invoco per vim potestatibus angulis." He shouted to into the void of space between him and the souls that were in the garden. The sky whipped into a frenzy and the earth quaked beneath them, with the light of the moon shining a bright silver that reflected Lucifer's eyes. Leoric looked up at the man that approached and was frightened to the depths of his soul. Blood tears etched the cheeks of his Lucifer, who seemed to be releasing an abundance of pent up rage that appeared to be endless. "Hear me Air, Water, Fire, and Earth, the corners of Reality itself: I beseech you to do as I wilt." With that, he raised his hand, in a cupped motion. Flames not only rose but danced behind him and he looked anything but human at this moment. The man with the machete rose in the air and was thrown back with the opening of Lucifer's palm, into the wall of a nearby shed. Lucifer reached Leoric and unceremoniously ripped the chainspear from his back. He helped Leoric to his feet and looked in in his eyes, then crashed his lips upon the Vampire's. Leoric pulled back, dazed but sheepish within all this confusion.

"Go, find a place to recover," Lucifer said as the rain started to come down. "I can take him, I'm a big boy."

Leoric nodded and looked Lucifer in his near mirror eyes. "Do not die. I'm not done with you yet." he laughed before vanishing in an act of supernatural speed. Lucifer turned to the slasher freak and began making his way toward him.

"You picked the wrong night, the wrong vampire, and the wrong witch who danced with him," he shouted, pouring his rage into his power. He felt when the bones in the arm of the hunter snapped. He relished in the feeling of it. A crack of lightning soared above them again, splitting and lighting up the sky brilliantly. The mask on the man had slid up slightly, exposing brown hair and bruised skin. "Get the fuck up, you bitch." Lucifer spat, stepping back. He was an honorable man, after all, and he wouldn't kill someone who lay on their back in the dirt.
... right where it belongs."

Stella Morgan

Stella had her eyes shut tightly. The sound of the screams and the attack were sickening and Stella was trying her best to block them out with her hands to no avail. She couldn't tell if it was just in her head or if it was really that loud. She flinched when someone took her hand. She didn't have time to question who he was or what he was doing before he began speaking to her. How did he expect her to act like this never happened. Stella has been through her fair share of trauma to know you can't forget it. She stumbled along as he dragged her to the nearest door. What the fuck? Did the door just actually open by itself? Well, not by itself. Did he actually open the door without touching it? "Wh-" She was cut off as she was pushed through said door, barely managing to stay on her feet. She turned around as the door shut, just as it opened.

Stella didn't know if she was about to cry, scream, throw up, or pass out. Her eyes scanned the party. Did nobody know what was going on right outside? Should she tell anybody? Who would even believe her? Her mind continued to race and her breathing started to pick up. She asked the nearest person who looked like they worked here where the bathroom was. Once they told her, she pushed through the crowd in its direction. She locked the door behind her and took a moment to collect herself. She hasn't had a panic attack in a long time, so she no longer carries the medication she takes when she has one. After several minutes of trying to calm down, she finally exited the bathroom and returned to the Gala.

Activity: Watching Selene

In a crowd filled with so many bodies, Ava stopped in her tracks once she saw an elegant woman approach Selene. "Who is that?" She whispered to herself. She felt as if there was tension in the air as she observed the events that took place. "No she didn't!" Ava gasped as she watched Kamaria's hair be whipped onto the man's face and graze Selene's. "Rude," Her eyebrows furrowed as she felt anger build up inside her. "Excuse me," she said to a large man in front of her. He was at least 6 foot and was blocking her from seeing the showdown take place. But, the man didn't move. "Excuse me," she said a little bit louder, this time placing her hand on his arm in attempt to get him to move out of her way.

Still no movement. "Jesus Christ," she swore, pushing her body passed him. She let out a deep sigh and flattened out the skirt of her dress with her hands. Ava ran her hands through her long silky brown hair to make sure that every strand was perfectly placed before she spoke. "What is it with these people here?" She asked, annoyed that everyone at the part was treating her poorly.

When she finally got Selene back into sight, she watched as she touched the male next to her. Surprised at this, Ava's eyebrows raised in confusion, she had no idea that Selene was dating someone.

She's on the move.

Ava walked quickly behind Selene, following her to two doors and two mean looking guards. "How many guards does one house need!" She said, frustrated at the fact that she would have to try to charm them to get in, and she knew that she did not have much time before she would lose Selene's tracks.

"Hey," Ava smiled at one of the guards. Even with her charming smile, she got no response from him. She reached for the nob of the door and the guard placed his hand on hers. "Don't even think about it," he said to her coldly. "I'm just following my friend," she explained and the guard ignored her, this time he took a step closer to his coworker and together, they blocked the doors completely.

"Man, is anything going to go right tonight?" Ava shook her head in disbelief. Why is everything in this house protected? What kind of secrets could the owner be hiding?

Activity: Seeing Josephs past and speaking with him
Mica smiles up at the boy as he spoke, but then that’s when moments changed for her, as his plans touched hers she started to feel his past and different snippets began to pass through.
It was another country but a baby was looking to his mother and there was so much love from mother to son as if all was right within the world. The snippet began happily but soon it began to change before her to a boy who was no longer happy a village torn apart and boy left alone without his mother. The devastation was all around Mica but only for a moment and then it was gone.
The snippet was short but it was enough to see that Joseph hadn't had an easy life it caused her pain like most snippets of someones past she always felt like she was prying into something secret that someone kept from the world. For a moment her brain forgot the question and was drowning in the thoughts of how sad and lonely Joseph must be, he had no family left and he always acted so happy. How could he be so nice when his whole life was nothing bu chaos and destruction. She wished she could've blinked away the pain that she knew she felt after seeing his past but she knew she couldn't. As her brain started to realize where she was and that Jospeh was waiting for a response she looked at him and nodded. She was elated but the elation was only clouded by her knew knowledge.
Life as a witch was hard, over the years she had learned how to mask the sadness that she felt for others and to mask the fact that she knew so much about others in the town. She had ruined her family with one vision and now she had seen the vision of Joseph and if she told him she knew he wouldn't like that she knew. Of course she could come up with a lie if he asked her what was wrong but how could she lie when he had asked her something so exciting, something that she had wanted. The time of seeing him in the store just walking and her seeing his beauty, she had finally gotten her chance and her powers were going to ruin in. She closed her eyes unable to look at Jospeh, "I promise I'm happy and I want to be your girlfriend, I just have a lot that goes on in my head." She could only hope that the excuse would work and that he wouldn't push it any more.

Activity: Searching the ring and now face to face with her past

Selene could feel a sense of hopelessness; forever knowing that she lost the one object, that could have brought her together with her one true love. Though Selene’s stubborness wanted to be brought back up when she refused to keep looking, but the ring was not in here. She looked everywhere, left, right, up, down, and the only place she hasn't looked was sideways. Selene let out a sigh of frustration as she brought her hand up to the back of her neck and massaged her neck slowly. As soon as she was done with the mini treatment, she felt all the hair on her body stand up, as if she was a shocked black cat. Was it who she thought it was? No, it couldn't be. He had let her all these years and now he wishes to come back and find her. Selene had never felt this sort of chill, but warmth at the same time in a while. But one thing that was different about this presense that had been following her is that it has gotten colder, she remembers the kind of warmth that the presence had radiated and now it isn't the same. It felt like a weight in the room, magic lingering around as Selene began to move slowly around the room.

Selene wanted to use her magic to allow her to see whatever was engulfed in the shadows, but she thought that she might as well not, where was all the fun in finding out? Selene brought her hands down to her wide hips and watched the room very carefully. Before she could even tell this 'prescene to show itself, it had already done so.

What she has seen before her as shocked her beyond her years.

It was Nicholas.

He was alive and well. Though his prescene did not radiate the same warmth she had felt many years ago, he had a coldness to him. Could he have succeeded himself and turned hybrid? Selene began to feel a swarm of emotions emerge from within her. One moment she felt joy that Nicholas was alive, and here in front of her. The next moment she felt as though she could slap him for leaving her in the dirt, not even waiting for her to come too.

Selene felt hurt all of a sudden, broken, happy, and sad all at once. Selene brought her guard down when she put her hands back down to her sides, and began to walk towards Nicholas.

"Lenie..." Selene muttered with a soft scoff before she continued, "...that is where you are wrong Nicholas, but I can say that you have not changed at all." Selene finished as she walked around him slowly just before she stopped in front of him again.

Face to face, so close that she could hear his heart faintly beating. Selene held everything inside of her to not explode on him, both anger and happiness wanted to burst out.

But was this HER Nicholas? The same sweet guy she knew way before everything happened.

The playful, party-animal smile that had graced Malachi's lips faltered, his hand tightening around the bottle as Selene made it clear she was in no mood to loosen up and party. She surprised him further when she made it clear to him that she was not going to tolerate any discord brought into what she described as this 'thing' between them by none other than Kamaria. Her hand was in the air, gesturing and emphasizing her last point, drawing a line between them. Almost like a threat.

But before Malachi could process it all fully or even form a single coherent thought, Selene switched from cold and disapproving to playful and coy right before his very eyes. She came ever closer, a sly smile gracing her lips as she placed a clever hand on his chest, telling him that she was going to ditch him to retrieve something, or other, but of course to not worry, because she'll be back in just a few minutes. Talking as if she was the oxygen he desperately needed and could not go without.

As the crowd's eyes turned away, Selene's boldness was amplified as she permitted herself to look straight up at him and whispered, playing at the words he had just spoken, her speech and tone confusing the youth beyond comprehension. He couldn't tell if she was merely joking, or playing flirt, or something else entirely, and that bothered him, to say the least. His mind was racing a thousand miles an hour, struggling to correctly analyze and process what was happening before him before any action could be taken.

A prick of indignation sparked within Malachi as Selene, in her best authoritative voice, told him to stay put and to not stir trouble, as if he were nothing more than a hyperactive pet needing to be leashed. He couldn't help but flinch ever so slightly as she dared to lean in and lay a gentle yet repulsive kiss on his lips, as if to remind them both that they were still in this unsteady, toxic 'thing' together, and they had to keep up with the act in order to stay afloat, an effort at self-preservation to stay somewhat functional, despite it's unpleasantness and false comfort.

Malachi was not blind however, to the way Selene had glanced his lips, her eyes betraying a strange mix of desires; hunger and lust. However, before anything was truly confirmed, Selene left, leaving Malachi alone with the sting of her kiss and a bottle of alcohol in hand. And as usual, the florrent of ADHD-addled thoughts and questions arising from the unexpected interaction flooded his mind, almost at a speed that he couldn't fully reign in.
Is this it? Are we done? Where is she going? What would we even call this 'thing'? Why would she say that? What is she going to go 'retrieve'?
His ongoing suspicions and thoughts kept up as he wandered to the dessert table, making sure to keep an eye on Selene as she was leaving. He pondered the significance of what had just happened, and couldn't tell if he was desperately relieved or desperately panicked at the thought of whatever he and Selene had coming to an end. For far too long, Selene had been his lifeline, no matter it's toxicity and the bitterness and self-loathing it caused him. He hated the growing dependency, and his logical side had the good sense of telling him that this was an opportunity to get out, to escape before his dependency became inescapable, like some addict to his drugs. Yet the fear of losing that temporary sense of security and comfort had a force of it's own, and for the millionth time this night, Malachi wished he had brought his bloody meds. He took a glance towards Selene, a newfound suspicion rising as he watched her go through a door and close it, her earlier words coming to mind. He popped off the cap of the bottle and took a large swig of it, hoping that in time the effect would numb him and his ever-so-active thoughts and not let it ruin a perfectly good night, and about to get better, as far as he could tell as he begun to make way for the door.

The guards blocked him at the door.

"Off to take a piss," he tried on the guards as an excuse to get in. Both guards looked at him, their eyes rightfully distrustful and didn't move a muscle. Malachi, with irk, wondered if they by any chance recognized him from his last stay here. His jaw clenched slightly, his mind racing to find something else. "Fine, fine, lads you go' me - my date just went through here, and she jus' so happened to have promised me a dance."
The guards still didn't move, but Malachi observed the younger one of the two looking discomforted, and Malachi smiled. Though it pained him to say, he spoke the next words.

"She also happens to be my fiancee," Malachi continued, the lie flowing as easily from his lips as if it were the truth, his tone holding a rather pressing note at the end."Met and fell in love in London, you see. Plan to have the whole wedding here n' all - I do believe the hostess of tonight's party is invited."

That was the final straw - the younger guard opened the door and let him in. Malachi went in, bidding the pair a'do, and continued on his way. He was lucky; came just in time to hear the clip clops of Selene's highheels down the hall and turning right.

Malachi followed, his hunter's instinct immediately setting in as his footsteps became lighter, his movements more agile, his aura dimming and becoming less likely of being detected. While Mike was the brute force when it came to the two, his power relying on explosive and brutal attacks, Malachi was more silent and evasive, as is his nature, and in some cases, more deadly. Mike's grandmother had told him that he possessed a special knack for such things, and if he was more ambitious in his pursuits to fulfill his role as hunter as much as Mike was, he would become a near-unstoppable force. Of course, Malachi had always been in the grey area when it came to hunting supernaturals. He had not grown up with it like Mike had, and certainly not with such responsibility and pressure. Oftentimes Malachi wouldn't bother classifying himself as anything, much to his secret delight and the plain aggravation of his mother, Mike, and his grandmother. He only did what he sensed would follow his needs and vision of the world, and he liked it that way.

As he followed Selene, his alarm heightened as he realized she was heading for Kamaria's room, if his memory of his last visit to the house served him correctly. He knew that Kamaria was extremely possessive of her possessions, and if Selene was found out going through her things, the end result would not be pretty.

He kept following her, a good fifteen feet behind, as she made her way up the stairs and into Kamaria's room. He remembered his own curious yet wrong pursuit for clues and hints around the mansion to aid in figuring out Kamaria's shrouded past. Of course, she never found out - but god knows what Kamaria would've done if she had, and this applied to Selene in this case as much as it did to him then.

Malachi found her already shuffling through Kamaria's things, going through her closet, with remarkable, nearly superhuman really, speed. He wondered what she could be looking for as he watched Selene from the shadows, zipping through the enormous walk-in closet in less than ten seconds. It was surprising and unsurprising at the same time - the kind of feeling you get when a hunch you have is finally proven to be correct, even if it was based on nothing more than a gut feeling. Selene was certainly, most definitely, a supernatural.

The question of which kind of supernatural remained to be seen, or deduced because it was here when Malachi's hunter sixth sense picked up another supernatural presence, one that seemed to have materialized out of nowhere, nearly giving his senses a little spook. Selene seemed to be spooked as well, though it seemed to be on a whole other level. From Malachi's point of view, pressed up against the shadowed wall, Selene's back faced him, as tensed and rigid as a deer caught in the headlights.

Slowly, very slowly, Selene relaxed, turning around, hands on her hips. Malachi shrunk away from the wall to avoid detection as Selene scanned the room.
Right then, Malachi heard an unfamiliar male voice speak, in a slow, yet deliberate tone. He heard it, but from his position, he could not see, so Malachi quickly slipped behind a rectangular pillar not too far from his original spot and glanced back to the scene, now safely behind the darkened pillar. Malachi's breath hitched for a small moment as he looked.

And proceeded to see the same man he had caught the sight of earlier at the entrance that had stared murder at him, in such a way that even the thought of it made him uncharacteristically shiver. Malachi watched, in slight horror and overwhelming morbid curiosity, as the scene before him unfolded.

The man had a suave, easy smile on his face that was so common with handsome devils such as he, gazing and talking to Selene in such a way that spoke of a long history between them, and judging from the rather tense and awkward pause, there was as much history between them as there was bad blood.

Selene was a tidal wave of emotions. Her expression and gaze betrayed countless years' worth of spite, hope, relief, and more importantly, love. It only last for a few moments, and before Malachi knew it, Selene had composed herself into the Selene that he knew well, walking towards the man
She spoke, confirming the young hunter's earlier suspicions. Her tone was full of contempt, scoffing at the man who was called Nicholas. She was face to face with what Malachi deduced to be her past, and felt a flicker of sympathy for her. Though he had his own many demons left yet to conquer, Malachi couldn't imagine Selene's emotional state at the moment, torn between two sides of the same emotional coin, two warring desires between love and hate. Malachi glanced at Nicholas with a hint of malice and suspicion, wondering what on earth could've happened between them and what on earth was different about this man that could rock Selene in such a way that separated him from all the other countless men in her life, including Malachi himself.

At first, there was still an understandable degree of doubt within Nicholas' mind towards the true identity of the woman standing before him. All those second thoughts were extinguished upon Selene's response. There was no mistake now. While one could easily fool a person's eyes through illusions or mimicry, they could never truly duplicate the aura and presence radiating off that person. The way she stared at him was something that felt all too familiar to Nicholas. It was a stare of complicated emotions and thoughts, something that Nicholas had been more than familiar with.

Nicholas had indeed changed throughout the past few centuries but it seemed that the same could be said for his other half. Throughout his enchanted gaze, Nicholas could see the crimson red aura that radiated around Selene. Furthermore, he could sense elements of both vampire and witch. Could it be that the ritual had actually worked? That would explain why she was still alive here before him. Even after all that, it neither Selene's new hybrid genes nor her aura that felt foreign to Nicholas. It was her eyes. People often uses their eyes as a tool of enticement but most are unaware of its capabilities to act as a gateway into a person's past. Through Selene's, Nicholas could see a past of desolation, anger, and lust. The last of which, reminded the hybrid of the human from before.

"Ah yes, you're right. It seems that you aren't just a mere witch anymore." Nicholas stated with a pleased look as he referenced Selene's now hybrid status.

Flashes of their reminiscent past continued to flare up within Nicholas' mind. Memories of both good and bad returned after so many years of having been suppressed into a mere chapter of his history. Nicholas could tell that the same was occurring for Selene as even through the dimly lit room, he could still see the complex mix of emotions that her expression conveyed. The most notable of which, was frustration and rage. She was visibly and mentally torn, but from what?

"Oh? That's where you're wrong as well. I have changed for the better. If only you could see how far I've become throughout these years, Lenie." He responded with a wholehearted smile. As Selene remembered, Nicholas' smiles in the past were filled with a distinguishing sense of warmth and charm. But the Nicholas now, his smile, while holding no hidden intent, still carried an atmosphere of pure malevolence. While his handsome and alluring appearance remained unchanged, the bright and benevolent man that Selene once knew was no where to be seen.

On top of his forbidding presence, there was also a degree of formidable power radiating from the male. It was drastically different from the last time that they were together to the least. The ring he wore ensured that no one could detect its aura but even so, his baleful and powerful ambience was unmistakable.

"You're still as beautiful as ever." Nicholas commented as the two stood face to face. With a gentle brush of his hand, Nicholas pushed away the hair that covered parts of Selene's face as he caressed it softly. He took several seconds to admire her appearance, still unchanged and still a lavishing beauty. "Hm, you don't seem all that glad to see me." The male asked tilting his head slightly in a quirky fashion, his hand remaining tender beside her face.

Even while the two conversed, Nicholas could still sense the presences of all the attendees within the gala. Supernatural and humans filled the vicinity but neither of them were of any significance to had garnered his attention. All his focus was now fixated on the woman before him, allowing for the indirect approach and eavesdropping of several unwelcoming individuals.

Activity: Speaking with Mica and revealing his affection for her

While Mica's vision had taken over several seconds in real time, it was enough for Joseph to notice that something was wrong. Any normal person would've likely assumed that she was simply dazed off or suffering from a headache. But Joseph wasn't a normal person. One could even argue that he's not a "person" at all. His centuries of experience had granted him extensive knowledge on vampires, werewolves, and witches alike. Such knowledge also made Joseph aware that most other supernatural creatures are just as keen in hiding their identities as he is. Thus, he had decided that he'd retain the charade, at least until either of them felt ready to reveal the truth.

When Mica finally returned to reality, she would find Joseph's gaze unbroken and their hands still locked. He continued to await for an answer although there was no signs of him wanting to rush for a response to be received.

The short and anxious wait soon proved to be worth it as Joseph's lips curved into a wide grin upon Mica's response.

"It's ok, I just hope that I'll one day be worthy of being one of the things that you can't get off your mind too." Joseph said smilingly as he dropped one of his hands to his side. "Now, would you like to dance?" He asked

Jikariel had been lounging by herself, feeling the dark power of the reveler's sins. Lust, Envy and Pride were in obvious display, while the others were still there, just more subtle about it. Suddenly, there was a massive surge of energy. Wrath, and a lot of it. Somebody's enraged, maybe even to the point of murder. Against the demon's better judgement, she raced towards the center of the power, somewhere in the gardens. She simply had to know what was going on, cats and curiosity be damned.

What was going on, it turned out, was a bloody and violent attack. Topped with yelling about an 'Old One', no less. If Jikariel had been a mortal. she probably would have simply dismissed it as insanity, but... Drawing on the energies around her, Jikariel conjured a pool of liquid shadow in her hand. "You think that the Old Ones are a danger? The young can be just as deadly." She looked at the attack victim- she didn't know just what he was, but he was a supernatural, and that was enough to take his side.
