Seraphina jumped a bit when she heard the principal's booming voice over the crowd, telling them to get to their respective booths with their partners. Looking around she watched a few students break off in pairs. Some looked eager to begin while others seemed, disappointed? She figured that might be the case with some of the students. Perhaps they wanted to fight their friends or thought their opponent didn't fit their worthwhile. Seraphina's golden hue eyes turned back towards Clara, Miranda, as she gave the girl a reassuring smile, "Everything will be ok, just try your best. Afterwards you can come find me if you want. All you have to do is shout," she told the girl in a gentle tone. With that being said Seraphina gave a small wave before turning and heading to the building.

Walking inside the earth mage clutched her book to her chest as she took a deep breath, You got this Seraphina! Just think of it as training with Bramwell and the younger boys, she thought to herself. Hopefully thinking of it in this sense would help her to push aside the fact that she'd be fighting for no real purpose. As she kept repeating her pep-talk another thought crossed her mind. If she didn't give this her best shot there was a high chance of failing. Stopping in her tracks at the sheer thought of failing and idea of disappointing her parents caused her to grip the book tighter. "I can not risk failure. I'm going to give this my full effort," whispering this vow to herself before continuing on her way towards the booth where principal Von Deik was waiting for her.

Arriving at her destination it was plain to see that the principal was the first of either of them to arrive. Before she could properly introduce herself the principal had turned his attention on her and began explaining how their particular sparring session would go. Listening intently to the man Seraphina was a bit thankful that he wouldn't be going all out on her since it would be the first time they'd spar against each other. Von Deik is one of the most prevalent wind mages in Cathonia so this certainly wouldn't be easy, even if he wouldn't be using the full extent of his magic. When he finished his mini speech the marquess gazed upwards at the yellow eyed man, "Excuse me for a quick moment before we start sir Von Deik." Seraphina quickly walked to one corner of the booth on her side where she then proceeded to slip her high heels off and place them on the ground next to her book. With the slightest flick of her hand the objects were covered by a protective stone dome as a precautionary measure to keep them safe. Plus it was hard to move around in heels when it came to this sort of stuff.

Seraphina took a deep breath as she walked to her starting point. With each step she took the girl could sense the principal's movements, even the slightest shift in his movement. There were a few way she could go about this to make it a somewhat smooth victory very quickly, such as binding him to the ground or letting him become engulfed in quicksand from the start. But that would be too easy. True she would ultimately have to bind him if she was going to win, just not right off the bat. When Seraphina stopped she turned to face Von Deik from the opposite end of the field, tightening the ribbon in her hair before relaxing her body. Her right foot slid in front of her a bit while her left one slid back some as she took a rooting stance. Distributing the weight and pressure of her body evenly. Seraphina balled her fists as she tucked her arms up to her chest, and a subtle fiery determination in her eyes, "I'm ready sir."

Ellis listened to the words of the principal who said the simple lines of the game. Feeling a little competitive as ranking were mentioned, even more since she was standing against a huge guy that could probably slap her across the room if he wanted to. But then again, he first had to be able to touch her in order to do so. Eyes glistening as she walked over to the booth with the male titan. She honestly didn’t care about the epithets of people, not even when against a member of the royal house. Her mother would have already freaked out probably, whispering to her to let him win the fight so she could make more connections for the future. It had always been like that and it got on her nerves from time to time. Yet, her mother wasn’t hear now so she could do whatever she wanted. She highly doubted that someone from his caliber would tattle to his parents. Lucky her~

Doing the last bits of stretching before arriving at her booth. Standing on the other side, watching the other intently. Her breathing steadied as she slowly fell into her battle-mode. Slipping away from the unnecessary noises from outside so she could focus on Griffin alone. It almost felt like she was watching her prey. Licking her lips as she was ready to go for a round. White hair swayed softly by the light movements she made. Just as Griffin ended his sentence, she shot forward by using the air skillfully. Pushing herself off from the wall, she made use by the soft wind she created and accelerated herself. Within seconds she was right in front of the other. Yet instead of dealing a blow, she jumped up and prepared for an aerial attack which mimicked a small tornado. But unlike it actually sucked people in, it forcefully pushed people down. Concentrating it at one certain point to increase the damage she would deal.

Seeing the moves of Ellis, Elijah felt more at ease as he knew she wouldn’t go down that easily. It was Ellis he was talking about after all. With a nod, he could leave to check out another group while a fellow second grader took over for now. He then felt the piercing stare in his back from someone he knew all too well: Noé. He chuckled at the sight of the tsundere who tried to focus on the first years. ”Bored?” He asked with a smirk upon his lips. Golden eyes focusing on the red head who was now in front of him. Ruffling through the smaller male’s hair which felt soft through his fingers. A nice sensation which he couldn’t get enough from. Now that he looked at Noé better, he really did resemble a small fox which were adorable animals but dangerous if one wouldn’t pay enough attention.

”Or did you miss me?” He asked with a teasing undertone, tilting his head to the side. ”Anyway I missed you my lovely Noé” Feeling happy now that he could tease the guy again. It had been a while since vacation and all happened. Leaning in closer so he was right up in the other’s face. ”So, what’s up?” He asked before slowly pulling away again so the other could catch a breather, knowing all too well Noé wasn’t used to this attention despite Elijah doing it regularly. Ah, what would he do if I kissed him? He wondered inside of his head.

Once he saw everybody getting into place, he felt like he could now do the same. He could’ve put her against a second year but he felt like that might need some supervision as well and since they needed more hands, he decided it was better if he just stepped in as a replacement. At least the girl would be able to get some practice in, knowing very well she wouldn’t be able to put him in a dangerous state. His facial expression softened just the slightest bit now that they were one on one. He hummed as she took her shoes off which was a good choice. Watching her silently as he waited for her to get ready. The shoes were out of the way so they wouldn’t get damaged in the end. Perhaps this one showed some potential in preparation at least. Some had already made quite some falls due to refusing to get their high heels off. A pity but it was necessary to root out those students who didn’t show any promise.

As she started to get in her position, Von Deik did the same. Feet were spread so he had a more stable stance, his hands placed so that he could catch any incoming attack that wasn’t magical. Something like they did in karate. ”Come.” He motioned to her, a little provoking as he wanted to see what kind of moves she had in store. If he was right, she was an earth user which could take a while since it was a battle of stamina in most cases. He moved his hands in a circle which created a shield covering every side of him. If she wanted to get through it, she had the option of breaking through with pure strength or by being smart. There was also the possibility of him counter attacking which had to be taken into account.

Fast that was the first thought Griffin had after Ellis' explosive rush into his part of the booth. Her speed left him with a snap decision, straight jab or a attempt a kick since it was a no brainer that he wasn't skilled enough to mold the earth fast enough with magic to make a meaningful obstacle. The punch was timed perfectly for a straight rush to meet his feet...unfortunately, Ellis proved as nimble as she was fast and the woman had already changed directions to end up right on top of him as his fist finished its own speedy journey. Still, he kept the woman within his direct line of sight throughout the ordeal. However his opponent was already winding up a blow of her own and experience already registered his option and immediately eliminated to idea of her hitting him with a blast of wind from the vortex. His second cousin liked that strategy, wind at the speed of a stone from the sling was sufficient to bowl most people over...double it and almost everyone would be blasted from the ground. That budding point though demonstrated that wasn't the aim - she was going for a single focuses point...effectively a drill of wind. Had that cousin not been his most frequent sparring partner, he wouldn't be able to register this within the span of a blink. Dragon arms wouldn't be enough, immediately his feet sank into the stone for an out upthrust of the stone propelled him into the air as he leapt - his feet now resembled his arms in their stoned and clawed appearance. However whereas his arms were entirely covered, his feet became flesh once more at the ankle...and regardless the stone was still smooth. If he could interrupt her here, he could attempt to seize the initiative.

Griffin employed his large size with the extra force of his jump to propel himself at Ellis with the intention of shatter through her budding drill. His clawed left arm launched forward with power that could not be called human. His right at the ready should he need to employ his lasso idea or apply his large reach to the wall in the event his clawed foot proved insufficient to the task. While the very nature of the strike was preemptive, the nature was still straightforward - crush from the front and keep going. After all, Griffin held no illusions as to how the fight would progress if he could grab Ellis, and his blow was open palmed to facilitate that very plan. Worst case scenario, he'd be late and her drill would hit him like a ballista, shatter the stone on his arm in the process and who knows what to the arm itself. Bad scenario, the collision would rebound against the pair and Ellis would get propelled further out of his reach. Unlucky scenario: he'd only catch her garb and the girl would get away. Of course if her reaction was as fast as she was...dodging his ascent was the obvious choice. But such a thought hadn't occurred to Griffin since an aerial battle was not something he had much experience in. At any rate, Griffin felt his lips curl upwards once more...this woman was rapidly proving worthwhile.

Levia Bayle
images.jpeg-2.jpg
Levia was surprised, a small blush spread across her face as she was caught off guard, the tall man had suddenly shifted her to... an interesting way to welcome someone, how did he expect to do that to someone shorter than her. "Uh, hi, it's a shame your not Gyleon but we should definitely fight someday" she laughed with a small smile, letting him leave to do his own fight before hearing the principal, looking for where she needed to go. She walked past people to where she was going to fight, walking up to her podium before looking across at her opponent. This was Gyleon?

She didn't really, you know, at all feel intimidated by her opponent, heck, she felt like she could literally stand and get bombarded by whatever magic he had and just shrug it off. She still didn't really know what anyone else at the Academy was capable off. "So, nice to meet you, you probably know I'm Levia from the matchups, I guess we can start whenever you wish, your first move sweetheart" she hummed softly in a sweet tone, a quiet giggle as she cracked her knuckles and rolled her shoulders back to loosen up before wiping her forehead and holding her fists out just in front of her, nodding softly with a small playful wink. "Whenever you're ready" she repeated again quietly, a small smirk on her face. Ooh, fighting, fun.

As Gyleon went over his strategies for various scenarios and lightly stretched in preparation, he was finally approached. Though he would rather the girl not be his actual opponent, it seemed highly unlikely that she came to the wrong booth. The young woman was an attractive dark skinned woman with luminous blond hair and aquamarine blue eyes who towered over him more than anyone he'd met in both his lives. The situation would be still be acceptable if she had nothing but her height going for her, but she was covered in muscle and seemed like she could easily crush him on top of that as well.

The girl Soon confirmed herself to be Gyleon's opponent; Levia, and then offered him the first move of the match. Honestly he was tad annoyed by the possibility that he was being looked down and on top of that, had to display which element he used first but in the end he likely needed the advantage of momentum. "I am Gyleon Autic, it is a pleasure to meet you. I will begin now then" He said as he likewise assumed his stance.

Unfortunately Gyleon was not familiar with the Bayle family and which element their family made use of so he was unable to base his attack off that knowledge. What he did know however, was that should Levia close the distance with her build, the match would likely be settled quite easily. Due to his lacking ability and element, he didn't have the power to take her out directly. Even if he did focus an attack to the level that it would pierce defenses, it would end up linear and easily avoidable and easy to close in after. With that decided it seems his strategy would be a war of attrition as he attempted to keep her at range.

With his plan of action decided, Gyleon finally began his move, commanding as much water as he could to gather together and form a wide continuous spray of water. The resulting attack would actually be rather weak, only a bit more powerful than a standard hose and a majority most likely missing her due to the width of the attack. This was acceptable however, she was now unable to avoid the attack and would be slowed down and blinded to a degree due to aiming higher towards her upper body. With this she would either need to defend or make a counterattack with water in her eyes.

Mason sat with the other second years watching the first two newcomers go at it in ring. From the looks of it, Griffin was being tossed around a bit from the wind user. Shame too, as Mason had high hopes for this fight. About to pull out his sketch pad and charcoal, He was surprised to see Griffin smiling. This quickly changed his mind about the fight as he settled in, dividing his attention on his sketchpad, and the fight. "If he was smart about this fight, Griffin would have gone sub-terrain and attacked from cover. It's that damn warrior attitude and code he was raised by that keeps him from such tactics though." Mason said to no one in particular.

Reaching for his flask, he quickly realized once more he didn't have it, causing the earth mage to grumble in annoyance. Putting his sketchpad and charcoal away, Mason decided to do something constructive with his time as he sent a tendril of his power deep into the earth, searching. After a few moments of concentration, Mason felt his power resonate with the material he was looking for. Focusing more, while keeping an eye on the fight, he could feel it moving, compressing, and shaping itself into his desired form. Knowing he would be facing a Light Mage, he would require a weapon that could reflect and hold up against her. After a couple more seconds, a small section of the earth opened up before him and an arming sword made up of compressed obsidian rose, it's edges blunted and it's blade strengthened against impact. While not his best work, it would suffice for his bout.

At the principal's verbal ready, and slightly taunting motion, Seraphina surprisingly didn't move from her spot on the field. No this was not because the girl felt embarrassed about being in a skirt for combat, Bramwell had taught her early on that there was never time to worry about clothing in any sort of fight, but rather she was still sensing the ground. She could feel small vibrations against it surrounding the principal. Wanting to test the waters Seraphina made her move. Unclenching her right hand she lifted it up to her shoulders, causing a rather large boulder to emerge from the ground to her left. As it levitated about a foot off the ground she clenched her right hand yet again which made the boulder burst hundreds of pebble sized pieces, but they remained suspended in the air. Seraphina relaxed her hand once more as he thrusted her open palm in Von Deik's direction, the pebbles flying at the wind mage. But as they neared him the stones bounced off an unseen force before hitting the ground near his feet. So he does seem to have a barrier up, the earth mage thought to herself, No point in wasting time and energy trying break through it. I'll be exhausted before I even put a dent in it.

Seraphina's delicate facial feature's became a bit stern as she calculated her next move. Suddenly the girl lashed out a side kick sending pillars of earth upwards under Von Deik's feet to throw the man off balance. Sure he had the area around him protected, but nothing under foot to stop her from getting him that way. If he was unbalanced or even thrown off his feet that would break his concentration enough for a bigger opening. Seraphina took this opportunity to advance, rushing the principal and flicking her hand across her chest which in turn sent the pebbles hurling at Von Deik yet again. If she was fast enough some of the stones might've gotten to him before he put his shield back up. But if she was a second too slow, well, Seraphina anticipated his next move. Whether he dodged, countered, or both, she was mentally preparing.

Interaction: Clouds Clouds

While blocking the flares Alice was sending him from the other side, this combat felt to him like it started off as an arm exercise routine, left arm up and down as his right arm synchronized to go up as the other one went down to pull up the water barrage and keep it relatively stable against the flames that evaporated it. He could play the psychological game here and say out loud something to divert her attention or even lower down her morale, she was evidently sensible and anyone else who had that trait would be a candidate to this strategy. But he chose not to go with that, two day long friendships are bound to be weak and susceptible to damage with tactless words, not even mentioning her own psyche. He wouldn't go that route. What else then? The surprise attack, he's agile, knows his moves and felt capable of building up a nice set at that moment.

The rhythm increase of her fire to a steady number of flares per minute made him catch interest on putting action to his counter, and so with a quick water gathering making fists with his hands and pulling the air to the hips, he managed to create a decent wave that matched his posture height, to then push explosively with his arms directly to her. His lack of arm speed made a gap of time where one of the flares caressed his face and leg, burning the almost invisible hair and skin on his left cheekbone and left calf, he had to perfect his arm waving if he wanted to have a flawless match next time. Now as the wave moved onward killing her incoming flares, lowering in height as it advanced for Camille thought about two reasons to leave it dissolve, it would show her his acrobacies which could look intimidating, or as inevitable, and he would be able to make his own attack. He took this chance to mix his knowledge from the stretching session, improvise and gain momentum for a solid strike, with a short sprint, hands pointing down to make water recollection go smoother, his feet up with a butterfly kick to land, turn and make the grand bullet that levitated by his side as he swiftly advanced to the middle of the match ground to impulse it and let it go straight for a headshot. A splendid performance if you asked Camille, he was getting fired up with that fast set, but when he finally shot, the blob was aiming to her left arm, close and with high speed, but not enough to finish it all, it could easily be deflected by her flames. Aiming after a stunt was really hard, maybe reincarnating in a world like this would make those matters easier, but it seems to be like that part was no different from Benedict's world.

This fail made him care to regain a defensive posture and go back to a solid "both feet on the floor" stance, similar to a volleyball reception, chest oriented to Alice's position. He tried to make all movements as efficient as possible, gathering constantly water to get ready for any kind of retaliation or once again as he had planned, step back and repeat, though he wasn't ready at all for an immediate second charge neither ready to fully defend himself. However he didn't have in mind one thing, stamina isn't infinite, that sole blitz took lots of energy from him and at this pace if he kept charging with this movements and power, he'd end up exhausted and unable to respond. Combat hadn't been so fun to his eyes and his gaze and wide grin had never been as piercing as ever.

Be careful what you wish for. Especially if you are a five-foot-something red headed boy, who is just much too prideful to admit things that otherwise should not been so embarrassing in the first place. Introducing Noé Argent, the resident tsundere or, by more mundane word, a complete and utter idiot.

Regardless, Noé found himself to must feign a shock, as Elijah's arrival was entirely unexpected, after all. A classic scowl was set upon his face, a pathological liar, really, for no particular reason. It was hard, however, when he found himself not to entirely be...repulsed. He supposed.

Should he tell him that that he, in fact, did miss him? That he spent each moment back home, watching as the days gone by and each closer to the next time he'd get to see him again? After all, even he gets lonely at times, and Elijah was...one of the few people he found himself trusting, for some reason or the other. Besides Viola, of course, though that one has gone without saying.

"N-Not really," he stuttered, as he was unsure which to answer at the point. Blue eyes glazed back and forth, down at the floor and up towards the other male. This was another thing he did not miss about the boy: how absolutely shameless! How could one say those lines in such a straight face, and Noé, just by standing right here, their faces just inches apart that he could quite literally felt the other's warm breath against his skin...

"Dist-ance!" He pushed Elijah over, and Noé had only noticed that he has been holding down his breath all this time. "One of these days you will give me a heart attack, you know that."

He was red till the cheeks, his whole face felt warm and he felt his lips trembling- honestly, now he felt foolish. What was he expecting, really? All these times being friends, he should have known that this was simply how Elijah is. It was not like he wanted anything more, really. Taking a few moment to compose himself, lowering his head, when he looked back up he gave him a rather snarky, lopsided smile. It was almost a reminder that he and Viola were still related.

"Oh? And why do you want to know? Now, of all times?" This was not their first day since them returning- and he really had hoped he was given the pleasure of a visit, a simple letter perhaps. Though he had a feeling that even were he to be sent a letter, none would come through the gates of their residence, none without prior close examination, at least. More trouble is the last thing he wanted at the moment, not after the whole ordeal involving the acts of a certain baroness...he decided not to think much of it.

Realizing that his tone had came out much more bitter than he intended nor deemed necessary, Noé released a sigh. He did not want to bring it up, besides, surely Elijah had his own matters to attend. And he surely does not want to talk about his days during break. Instead, Noé moved his gaze towards a pair that he had been eyeing before, nodding at their direction.

"That's Ellis, right?" he asked, poising himself against the wall, shifting uncomfortably. A part of him wished even more that Viola was here with him, another part, however... "I think we've met once. Or twice. She's...decent, I'd say."

At least this is what he was supposed to do: supervise. Yet, after a while of contemplation, he decided to ask back- after all, it was only proper...right?

"What about you?" he asked, looking at Elijah instead this time. "Er- how are you. I guess."

Her legs dangling down the seat of the bench, Viola found herself humming an absent tune, tilting her head left and right nonchalantly. A smile that seemed permanent on her face, her eyes that never fail to light up at the slightest excitement. After the announcement has been made, Viola could only cheer, waving both her hands above her head. This was what she was waiting for. Last year she had the opportunity to be a first year, all nervous and jittery. This year she's the supervisor. And she'll make sure everyone will enjoy their time!

"Hmm~?" Viola chimed in, looking over Mason and smiled. She was not sure if she heard all that, but it was something about Griffin- "Oh, the big guy fighting against Ellis?" she asked, turning her attention towards them and squinted. Size wise, it looked...ridiculous, though she must know more than anyone that body weight represents next to nothing when it comes to magic skill. Well, maybe a little.

It just occured to her, however, that she had not greeted Ellis ever since she got here. That was unacceptable- especially that they had prior knowledge of each other before, even if there weren't a lot. Still, Viola would love to consider her friend.

"Ellis-chan~ ♡" she called out, standing by the bench. Perhaps she should have thought twice before distracting a student mid-fight, hopefully she has a good enough focus. She thrusts her fist to the air excitedly. "You can do it!"

She had not even noticed what the male next to her was forging, because the next thing that caught her eye got her to gasp- again. Immediately she hopped off the seat, rushing towards the other section of the area. "Levia-nee!" she cheered, waving her hand. "I've come to watch you! You can do this!" she smiled, tilting her head, before her eyes met the other girl's competitor and she laughed nervously. "Oh- sorry, hi! I'm Viola, I don't know if we've met before but...er-" Woah, it's hard to pick a side when both of them are equally as lovely. "Good luck both of you!"

Ellis never thought that she would actually make a hit with this movement, after all, this was only but the start of the fight. Her eyes were piercing by the way she was calculating every move Griffin made. The body of his moved faster than she expected him to. Being forced to release her ‘drill’ early which didn’t have much effect, maybe a rock or two fell of from Griffin’s arm in the progress as she propelled herself back. Seeing him in the air, she started to think about what to do now. But then again, she felt like she should listen to her guts now. She had stamina, perhaps more than the guy which she could use to her advantage. However, since she didn’t have an infinite storage of mana, she couldn’t keep on blasting powerful spells constantly. She licked her lips as she started to have fun with this little fight. It almost felt like she was fighting her cousin though he had grown stronger than her which she disliked to say the least.

Deciding to give it a shot with her newly learned move. Once again propelling her forward while creating vibration waves. Concentrating enough to keep it stable. If Griffin decided to block, he’d need a good layer of earth around him to counter this attack. Otherwise he would be blasted away which would make it hard to recover from that. Her heartbeat became a little faster due to the energy that pulsed throughout her body. Grinning as she truly felt alive in this exact moment. If only she could do these things more in life, perhaps it would be less boring.

Once he got pushed back by Noé, he chuckled at the expected reaction. The guy really didn’t seem to like for Elijah to get close, Elijah wondering why that even was. Perhaps because they were both guys? Elijah never got the discrimination some people had on same sex marriages even though they were pretty normal overall. He couldn’t do anything against those people since there were too many, they’d probably been thinking that way for their entire lives as well which made it near to impossible to change their mind on the subject. The close-minded people weren’t the most fun ones… Elijah had already given up on them after having tried it a couple of times before. ”I’d give you mouth-to-mouth if that ever happens.” He responded with a cheeky smile plastered on his face. Oh, how much he loved teasing this person.

”Sorry, sorry. I was busy and didn’t have the time to actual write something…” He apologized, clasping his hands together while trying to perform a puppy eye. ”Next time, I’ll just come visit you when I have the chance.” He commented in an attempt to make Noé feel better. It was true that he had been busy, his parents dragged him around against his will, leaving him with almost no spare time. Then he had to help his cousin Ellis with her training so she could defeat those who were bigger than her which came in pretty handy considering who she was up against. He only hoped she wouldn’t do anything stupid or become overconfident.

Once Noé actually mentioned his cousin, Elijah hummed in response. ”She’s been training with me so she has a bit of experience.” His tone of voice became a little more serious. ”At least her movements improved which is good, maybe she could even take the big guy out.” He folded his arms over one another as he watched her.

Glancing to the side when he was asked the question in the end. ”I’m okay, my parents kind off kicked me out to live with Ellis. Can’t say I’m angry for the decision but it’s not a fairytale either with her parents around. They’re the true incarnation of evil when something doesn’t go the way they want it to.” He shivered as he thought back on something that happened not too long ago. ”They once punished her for having planted one of the flowers in the wrong row so the entrance wasn’t symmetrical anymore.” Rolling his eyes with a sense of anger welling up. ”If I’d seen that, I would’ve blasted them in the air with no return ticket.” He grumbled under his breath.

Seeing a boulder coming straight at him, the principal didn’t budge as something like that wouldn’t reach him through his shield. He did however increase the density in the direction of where the attack came from. The rock got rebounded in an instant, shattering into big pieces on the ground due to the force that was behind it. Watching her every intent which was reassuring to see. The girl seemed to be thinking about what to do now. The next attack wasn’t intended towards him this time but actually making use of her surroundings. Good. Very good. Practically being forced out of the way due to the impact it would otherwise give, he still kept his eyes on her just in case if she did a surprise attack from behind the falling pillar.

Pebbles were flying towards him at a rapid speed, moving his arms without unnecessary movements which created shards of wind that ricocheted the stones to the left and right. While doing this, he created a cloud of dust which blocked pretty much everyone’s view for the most part. Remembering where the girl was, he dodged the last few pebbles and closed in on her fast. His arm was behind him and was pushed forward with a force great enough to actually slam someone into the ground. She had to be fast to dodge this move or it would be end of the game for her.

There wasn't much time for Seraphina to react as the principal had not only managed to move from his position like she had hoped, but also effectively evade her attack. Which part of her had anticipated. Coming to a quick halt in the middle of the field as the pebbles hit the ground and caused dust clouds to obscure the view of anyone on the outside from truly seeing what was happening, causing the girl to smile some. This was in fact an opportunity she could work with. Snapping her finger Seraphina caused the dust to thicken and hang in the air over the field to give her cover, and conceal her location. Now was the time for thinking on her feet! The girl extended some of her senses into the dust that hung in the air, giving her better insight on Von Deik's location. However this was slowly depleting her mana the longer she kept her sixth sense up using the very fine earth particles. Seraphina could feel the man closing in, and at an incredible speed. I can't let it end like this!

As Von Deik got within mere feet of her the marquess flicked her wrist causing her to become swallowed by the earth in the blink of an eye, and narrowly dodging the knock out attack. The blue ribbon that had held her hair up fluttered and ripped apart due to it coming loose then getting caught in the powerful wind. Blue pieces of fabric littered the closed hole that had opened up only long enough to pull Seraphina into it. Almost immediately after evading the principal's attack the ground behind him erupted violently as Seraphina was propelled out of it by a pillar with the smallest of grins, followed by two incredibly large, stony hands, and arms, grabbing at Von Deik from underneath him to drag him into the earth and trap him from the neck down. As long as she had been fast enough to grab him, this fight was hers. She just had to hope her timing this time was better than the last.

Alice Lorewerth

(pretend there's a picture of the loli here)

Alice continued her assault of small flares and fiery micromissile-like projectiles in Camille's direction, seeing that he was blocking them completely fine. She looked at him cautiously, seeing his motions and noticing the wave he had risen in order to block the projectiles, glancing past and seeing one of her flames burn him a little. That was, you know, probably bad, you're not supposed to actually hurt the opponent in a sparring match right? Especially not your potential bestie? She wasn't paying enough attention to notice Camille's sudden advancement behind the wave, expecting the wave to come all the way towards her. She noticed him pretty close when she saw an orb of water beside him, only a split second before seeing it coming her way.

She wasn't really as focused or in the zone at this point as she had the shortest time to react, not realising she was as warmed up as she needed to be in order to use the full capabilities of her magic that she was currently able to do, squeaking at the sight of the water projectile coming towards her and flicking two of her flares down at the floor simultaneously. Her little hand flame tricks from when they first met were finally going to be shown their true capabilities, as the flames rose up arcing up over Alice slightly in a protective shield manner, copied in the same way he used his wave to block her own projectiles. It wasn't entirely perfected though, while some of the attack was clearly evaporated, it was still water, and water countered fire, so she was indeed hit in the shoulder. She started to realise how hard concentrated fast-flying water could actually hurt all of a sudden.

She watched as he landed back into a stylish position, readying to continue the duel as if he were awaiting her move as her flame wall was flickering and dying down. It was honestly kind of fun, at least knowing your opponent definitely wouldn't be out for blood, and also because she wanted to be high ranking on the leaderboard because she'd be sad if she was bad (haha that rhymes). She giggled softly in the small pause, the way her eyes sparkled softly and looked back was obvious she was smiling and having a fun time underneath the mask, but she had to show off her true prowess correct? That was the whole point of this spar thing. Well, she was warmed up enough so she might as well give Camille everything she had. I mean, he asked for her to go hard.

She squeaked softly as she felt her magic, it felt strong to her, but that just might because something else is not strong in comparison, hoh hoh. Locking onto Camille's soft eyes, she felt her swirly yet graceful flames forming beautiful flickers and sparks in her hand, the flames coating her hand and arm in a neon orange constantly moving and shifting coat. "Sorry if I hurt you" she mumbled softly as she bowed her head a little, her blazing arm clearly glowing slightly brighter before dying down in intensity of arm coverage, her magic surging to her other hand as well as she begins throwing missile flares homing in on his direction, they weren't an insane barrage like before, but they were evidently much bigger and had way better accuracy, courtesy to her much more skilled capability of controlling her flames.

Levia giggled softly after hearing Gyleon's introduction, he had to be a noble of some sort after that. Too posh for commoner standards... or at least, probably. Some commoners probably talked like that because it made them sound like someone of higher wealth. She casually waited for his first move, being a little surprised that there was no trick to his strategy, just going head on. The unavoidable giant hose was interesting however, Levia in just reflex brought her arms up to her eyes, hearing the loud gushing of the water before feeling it pushing into her, she didn't know how long he'd be capable of doing this but one thing was evident: he was definitely a water user. He doesn't need to be as close as she does in order to be effective, so he can abuse the starting distance as much as he wants. She felt herself being pushed back a little by the water in her thoughts as she was pondering.

She could feel the water pushing her arms closer to her face, she definitely wasn't going to be able to see anything, and at this rate she would not be able to get close to him at all. But how much water could come from just one man, it couldn't last forever right? And anyway, the best offense is a good defence right? Levia used one of the biggest skills in her arsenal which helps with her combat most especially: basic science. She crouched over more, holding her arms tighter to her eyes and lowering her head, she wasn't going to try and avoid the water, she was going to reduce the surface area so she could just brute force the hose, albeit slowed. If he wanted to stop her, he would have to adjust his strategy somehow, so even though she probably wouldn't get close to him, at least she would be able to eventually pressure him into stopping or doing something else.

As she began to brute force the water attack, she heard the muffled sound of a familiar voice somewhat quietened by the LOUD EARBREAKING SOUNDS OF WATER GOING PSHSHSHSHS, she hadn't met many people, and the only female she could remember was the girl she met earlier. Viola, that was it. What was she doing here? Was the tiny girl actually a Second Year or did she just finish REALLY quickly? She didn't think about it much as she heard that she had came to watch, well now, that's motivation to not lose even more. She can't look bad. And as she thought about it, she was just a commoner, Gyleon wouldn't at all know about her, so perhaps her being able to push through his attack without using her magic right now was actually beneficial since he couldn't predict a counteract for what she was going to do. "Hey sweetheart! Glad you could come and watch~!" she laughed, covering her face with her arms before reaching out through the gigantic hose blast and giving her a wave, although she couldn't actually see where she directly was, but back to the original matter at hand. Water brute forcing time.

To his surprise, for once in his time at the academy things seemed to be going decently well for Gyleon. Maybe because she demed the attack unworth using her magic on or her element was incompatible, Levia tok the rush of water head-on with her body, covering her face with her arms to shield her eyes. The one downside to this situation was that in his nervousness and excitement he seemed to have unconsciously added more power than he had meant to attack as it was actually forcing the giant Levia to hold her ground. On seeing this his body suddenly became acutely aware of how fast he was going through his mana reserves to maintain this and it was getting rather low already. To top off everything off, Levia had made the decision to reduce the effect of his attack by lowering the amount of surface area she exposed. While not optimal, the situation was still quite acceptable and it was time to move onto the next phase of his plan. Before he could begin however he jumped in surprise at the voice of a young girl calling out.

Both consciously and unconsciously, the power and width of Gyleon's attack ended up lowering as his attention was focused in the voice's direction. There he was met with the the sight of a cute and small girl with long flowing crimson hair styled into pony tails. Although he wanted to say that she was around the age of of his little sister, 13 maybe 14, he couldn't confirm as there should only be students here at present. Oddly enough the girl called Levia "Levia-nee" but he at least thought it was in a friendly way rather than as actual family due to their distinctly different appearances. While considering the chances of adoption, his thoughts were interrupted by the girl laughing nervously and introducing herself. "H-Huh? Ah, yeah, hi. I'm Gyleon." Due to his surprise he actually ended up completely forgetting to force his usual formalities and let his usual self through.

Gyleon took her saying "good luck" to the both of them as their signal to continue, returning his focus to Levia and going back to the previous power. While having slightly diverted from his initial idea with the amount of power he put out, the end result remained the same. With the large amount of water he was letting out in such a wide area, the surroundings were now wet and his enemy was completely soaked. Just because he had used the water once before didn't mean he wouldn't again like an earth user, the surroundings had completely become his and he could even make attacks with any in the surroundings, even with that which was on his opponents body.

While annoying that she still hadn't revealed her magic, the fact she was choosing to drain her stamina by pushing her way through his water slowly at least gave Gyleon possible leads. If she was a wind user or a fellow water user she could have easily parted his more unfocused attack rather simply. That narrowed it down to her using either fire or earth magic. With his strategy so far, fire would be the worst matchup as the surroundings could be easily evaporated and he could be cornered overpowered by continuous attacks. While less so, Earth was still dangerous and he could easily be taken down in one blow if he was careless. Either his plan would continue as is while being cautious of attacks from her direction and from below.

The next part of Gyleon's plan was actually rather simple and even more effective than previously intended with Levia's current actions. With her pushing against his water, she was putting more focus and strength on her upper body. Immediately he stopped the spray of his water and used the conditions he set up previously to quickly gather the water at her feet for more power with circular hand motions and then send it rushing against her legs from the front them by drawing in his hands and throwing them forward. Although it left him unable to ascertain the degree of success, he quickly focused on gather the water from her surroundings to start rushing towards what is hopefully her now lowered head from tripping and attempt to trap it in a bubble while shes recovering.

While Griffin felt his fist won in the collision against Ellis' attack, the stone on his fist cracked visibly - fist, the segment underneath the bracer and even to the tip of the elbow and there was a sensation at his left shoulder that his adrenaline hopped self failed to recognize. As expected, Ellis was brought further from his reach in the collision as he free fell to the ground, however instead of an impact he sank into the ground before it contracted around him in a forceful manner. The stone perfectly melded to his flesh and then began to crack and scale under the force of the magics at work, Dragon Scales had been activated in full. In light of Ellis' rushing attack, Griffin didn't have the time to dodge, but given the previously submerged Griffin was now atop the floor - the density of the stone he wore went without saying. With eager anticipation, Griffin opened his arms to embrace the charging woman, and found the movement fully limped his left arm. No longer was magic and muscle working in tandem there - just magic. There was a light twitch in the left of his back, the battle frenzied Griffin blissfully unaware of the tearing of his own muscles.

Come on, the voice in his head was far too tender for the situation as he readied his answer. The hand of the uncooperative left arm dug into the earth, while the right one propped slightly for the inevitable grab, the man's pre-made crater would be the stage from here on. The real trick was whether or not his goal to wall the lass in just before she hit him would pay off...a trick he'd normally find difficult now just relegated to 'filling in a hole'. Just for caution, more earthly essence surged into his body and the crater deepened in the final moments. Dragon Muscles, and with the extra surge in essence, the stone could no longer resist his commands, his left arm went utterly numb - he couldn't feel it anymore. But that wasn't a concern, for now he was as the Earth itself - despite burning himself out rapidly... he expected to end this in a few breaths of time. The enslaved stone readily jumped to dome over the pair - ceiling low enough Griffin could reach Ellis with a jump should he fail to grab her through the rattling impact that shook his body to the bone.

Galina Geas
Folding her arms under her chest Galina gave Birdie a mock glare. "Yes Ms van der Zee I am quite capable of finding the right holes to put my arms and legs through thank you very much." Despite her supposed indignation she allowed Birdie to tidy her up without flinching. "..thank you." She had considered sticking her head out and asking for help with her hair at the very least but thankfully she had thought correctly that there could be someone else outside too. Nodding politely at Gyleon's greeting she slipped her arm through Birdie's offered elbow and allowed herself to be led away.

Getting her breakfast down as fast politeness and responding to Birdie's chatter would allow Galina followed the explanation about the teachers then cringed and made a few futile attempts to deflect the conversation from hiding spots for couples, that was the last thing she needed to know especially with Gyleon there.

Finding herself unexpectedly ditched by Birdie her eyes followed her friend's path curiously wondering what could have happened to make her turn so suddenly. Glancing up at Gyleon she suppressed a sigh at his worried look, evidently things weren't going to get any less awkward between them any time soon. "We should be on our way." While they walked she occasionally looked his way feeling like she should say something but never worked out what words to use. Reaching the board with the sparring assignments Galina blinked in slight surprise seeing that she had been matched up with the princess, not having met her before she hoped Miranda wouldn't be the sort to expect Galina to throw the fight due to status. "Of course, good luck to you as well." She said to Gyleon as he made his escape and headed for her own assigned spot.

Arriving at the sparring ground Galina the princess didn't seem to have arrived so she took the time to stretch and limber up. Feeling well loosened up she went through a breath exercise that helped fan her internal flame.

Her wet shoulder gave him the sign she got somewhat struck by his attack, relieving himself from his own pressure for finding the perfect attack, there was no need to be so strict to himself, after all, he's just a newbie and didn't know a thing about this things. This start was more than great to him, and even if he lost the battle, he'd embrace his errors, recapacitate and get up to fight another day. Alice's mask hid her face from his capabilities or discerning what people think at those moments, but at least the fact that she wasn't intimidated at all, judging from her pose and continuity in battle, eased his mind from wanting to apologize if there had been hurt by his attack. He had no clue either way if the battle was supposed to finish with one side victorious or if this was just some kind of sparring between the students. There was no time to watch the rest fight, there were multiple sounds going on around but, to him, all of his attention had to be on the battlefield and nowhere else. What if some day he'd need his magic abilities to fight a burglar or just give a lesson to one of those dumb nobles? He'd love to see that day come.

Hearing her soft murmur as she was starting to develop he attack, Camille responded with a friendly "Sure! I don't mi-" interrupted by the incoming missile directed to his torso the other couple following behind it. Focussing on creating the same walls he used before, but this time putting enough attention to the possibility of her flare going through without any problem, he changed quickly to a push up position, expecting the bigger and faster flares to just pass through his thin water wall. They did, and the sound was kind of intimidating in fact, the heat coming from them reminding him of his neighbors burnt house and how the flames, so tall as they were and apparently far enough, emananted enough warmth to make someone sweat meters away. Without thinking much on how to counter next, he quickly got up again on one impulse from his hands, and a bit of help from small water columns from his hands, to then bend another water mass to his will and impulse it forwards with a spinning heel kick. He might not have that many tricks up his sleeve, but he had enough physique to give power to his attacks, though that was just to eliminate the next incoming flare. now he could dodge the next one and think what to do. The water wall had drop seconds ago, so the flares where clearly directed to wherever he was, there was nothing to hide him so that he could start thinking on a strategy to defeat Alice. Such a cute smol babbi, but deep inside, an oven that could bake you in an instant.

Camille then dodged the next missile with a quick duck following up with his body moving on a curve line upwards, like a crescent moon type of movement which led to him using the water left on his hands to throw a ball in the air, fast head calculations made in splits of a second that's to millions of years of human evolution led to him doing this, with the objective that the ball would hit Alice's face and leave him at peace for some seconds, those fireballs would burn his long white pristine hair if one faux pas was to be made, and that would be a horrendous situation. Enough to make his soul suffer momentaneously, long years it had been since he last cut it, and that meant lots of effort and care behind his own process. Now it was all left to her reaction or if she even see that coming, he would keep trying to evade the incoming flares, one of them inevitably getting almost burning his back which made him take off his shirt again (no showing off intention haha). His clothes were important to him and it wasn't like he could get another pair of white shirts out of nowhere. He preferred burning his own skin which was able to get healed.

The environment wasn't entirely in her favour right now, his large blast of water was completely drenching her as well as anything behind and around her. She didn't really know what that would allow him to be capable of, but if it was a wet environment then a water user surely had to have the advantage... although she was an earth user, and there was ground right beneath them. She had the terrain advantage as well, but it wouldn't be as strong. It wasn't as if they were duelling in a rugged or mountainous environment with unsafer earth, then she would truly be in her element. She wanted to get closer though before trying to use her magic to do anything, she could likely get him offguard with a surprise magic attack from doing so.

She noticed the burst of water stop coming from Gyleon, she was capable of seeing how much ground she had covered from brute forcing, and it was safe to say she almost got close to halfway across the arena, quickly looking up at him to see what he was changing his strategy to. Not noticing at first and watching his hand movements in slight confusion, she felt the movement of water at her legs and could tell what he was trying to do, it was similar to sweeping her legs in a fight except he was doing it with water, he was going to try and lead up with something while she was vulnerable. She didn't need to use magic for just this, he was a water user, he wasn't going to be able to execute her on the spot just by getting her down. Giving him the free hit and letting her fall to her knee, holding herself up with her arms, she looked up to check what he was planning to do before feeling the water traversing her body rather strangely.

Levia hadn't expected this at all, this felt like something from a horror movie. Pushing herself up in order to actually start doing something rather than seeing if he tired out, she could feel the droplets and small streams of water travelling up her body, passing up her neck. It didn't seem like much but just something random, until she could notice it collecting together directly on her face. This man, this random water mage she just met, in a practice match to see their strengths in magic combat, was legitimately trying to suffocate her. Well now she just threw her bar for how high she's allowed to go out the window, if he was allowed to put her near death, then why couldn't she?

Standing up, holding what small amount of breath she had with the bubble preventing her from breathing any more, she cleared her mind in order to focus as she rushed at Gyleon, her joyful and hyped emotions had sort of disappeared after she realised how serious of a spar this match was and she didn't want to just give this man a free win. He would really have to earn it. Even with what his water gave him, this match could not end if she just refused to give up, that was the rules right? Her arms had picked up fragments of earth from around the surroundings, forming heavy rock gauntlets on her hands, she was covering her front with them so he couldn't directly send anything her way that could severely hinder her. For the start, it was a joke. Now it's personal.

Alice Lorewerth

again imagine this is a pretty picture of the loli you know which one

Alice took notice of if he was able to respond to her new projectiles she had sent his way, wanting to know if he was able to handle it or if it was too much. Seeing his water wall rise in front of him, she saw her missiles pass through it, not seeming to actually hurt him but coming dangerously close. She supposed she had it lucky, water, maybe tied with wind, was the least intimidating of all the magics. At least to most people... well, there is light, but not many people know the capabilities of the light magic as well, and mystery is scary. But, Miranda was probably the least intimidating person she's ever met... well I mean there's always Viola, she's probably tied for that position too.

She watched his moves and poses with great interest, she found it slightly entertaining and a little funny to watch, making her smile and giggling quietly, she wanted to do it too but she definitely wasn't as good as it as he was. It was just so skilled and elegant, he was trying to not be phased by his life being on the line from her attacks, it amazed and impressed her by a lot. She wasn't paying enough attention to notice the fact that Camille was planning a counterattack, noticing the ball projectile way too late and feeling it strike her as a direct headshot, rocking back slightly as she felt it push the mask into her face hard, as well as the impact throwing her offbalance slightly. Some of the water had went into the eyeholes as she quickly tried to blink away the water that had splashed into her eyes so she could focus again, making her look much more teary and saddened than she actually was.

By the time she was looking back at Camille, he was shirtless. Wuh- when- wuwuh? That was probably a more effective move than the water ball, it just left her in complete confusion and shock, she was continuing to fling out her fiery missile projectiles, albeit clearly a little distracted. Considering sudden out-of-nowhere shirtless Camille was the only thing on her mind, it's pretty obvious what her projectiles were going to target and home in on. You know, Camille. The shirtless one. How did he do it so fast, why is he shirtless, was this supposed to be one of the things that parents teach their kids in life? Alice had no idea what was actually happening, she was confused and believed she wasn't ready for it. I mean, Camille didn't look bad though. Not that he looks worse with a shirt on or anything, but he did look really nice without it. She's not being creepy or flirty, she's just being honest to herself. "U-uh, you look really pretty!" she mumbled softly without thinking, she didn't mean it in any sort of way, but just as a friendly compliment, mainly because she didn't actually notice when he took the shirt off.

She continued her projectiles shortly after, cautious he was about to do something else. A thought crossed her mind, she could potentially step up her firepower. I mean, it would be harder for her but the whole thing is about showing how strong their magic combat was, and she could always go back to what she was doing beforehand if things went bad in her favour. Her fiery missiles slowed for a moment as a larger ball of fiery energy built up in one of her hands, eventually needing to use both of her hands in order to keep stable control of it. She charged it up in her hold, she was putting a lot of her magic into it, although this was the first time she actually ever tried going one up, so it was likely a stupid yet experimental idea. In order to ease her stress on controlling the large attack, she managed to release an assortment of the original fiery missiles and small flares in his direction from the stored power of the attack, it would charge much slower but it would keep him distracted so she could at least try it. She knew she would definitely have to apologise after, yep that shirtless Camille thought still in her head.

Thankfully Gyleons plan ended up proceeding as expected with no surprises. With Levia's unbalanced stance and lack of friction to grip the ground, the wave of water managed to successfully knock her off her feet. To his surprise, rather than acting immediately against the obvious followup attack she instead decided to looked up in his direction as it to see what it would be. Although confused he managed to complete sealing her mouth and nose with water before she managed to catch on as to what he was plotting. With this, all he had to do was maintain his concentration well enough to hold the water in position and avoid her attacks of panic. While he did feel bad for her once he saw that she seemed to be a bit freak out and scared, his mind quickly changed with what happened next.

After Levia's initial signs of fear, for some reason she seemed to grow angry after realizing what Gyleon was planning. No matter how he thought about it, he simply couldn't understand why she was upset. Although his tactic was indeed rather drastic, this was their time to prove their capabilities and the only thing that he could think of to properly challenge the woman. In fact this was the type of gamble that only played out so well since she looked down on both of his attacks, thinking they were unable to pose any danger to her. She could have used her magic defensively to block the spray no matter the range of her magic and she had showed no sign or intention of avoiding or doing so with the attack after her trip as well.

Gyleon looked at Levia with a frigid gaze, rare true anger flowing through his heart at this. Even with his emotions starting to take hold, he focused his burning fury into a calm and cold focus to defeat her. While she stood and finally made use of her magic, forming large heavy gauntlets made up of the surrounding rock. He had finally forced her to become serious and use her magic but it was meaningless at this point. She had taken too long and no matter the outcome, the result had been tainted by her actions. Humorously she rushed at him with her earthen clad hands defending her body. Why would he start making direct attacks at her now that she was in the palm of his hand? Even having the advantage his heart still beat fast and loudly, threatening to come out from his chest seeing the giant charge at him and likely able to break something quite easily with one blow.

Gyleon must maintain his breathing, he must not panic, he must not lose his concentration. He still had to maintain the half-bubble to hold to her charging body; while even if slowly, he retreated back from her while he faced forward. "Why are you upset? You're the one who's been overconfident and looking down on me this entire time. You've let your guard down too much for something like holding your breath or guarding to be of any use." Although he could only focus on maintaining his half bubble before, the closer she got, the less focus he had to put into maintaining it. If she wasn't so focused on close combat being her only option, she likely could have just thrown summoned rocks at him while running to interrupt his magic and still won in the end. Now he had the capability to force her to choke and suffocate by sending the water covering her nose into her nostrils. He first started with splashing water in her eyes to lower her focus and leave her unable to see and resist choking hopefully. In the end, it would be extremely close as she'd be close to, if not right in front of him before he could complete everything. If her body was unable to be controlled due to his technique, he'd of course stop and hopefully the match would be determined at that point.

The water ball hitting Alice's face gave him enough time to focus on dodging the next incoming fireballs directed to his last position and her images of a blurry Camille without needing to worry for more missiles at the moment. They were flowing through the air at speeds higher than only water attack which was already damn fast for him, swift movements wouldn't be enough to dodge the hits, it seemed impossible and so he needed to combine water magic along with his evasion. His current position allowed him to gather his legs and do a macaco flip, getting out from the where the fireball was targeting at and stand up for the next one. He then splashed big blobs of water onto the blazing flare to shrunk it down enough so that his flexible lean would let him stay untouched. And to the last one he decided to put up front with a arcing water shield, as thick as possible to engulf the fireball and turn it off. This one was the hardest, though he did end up controlling it, only a very thin water later was separating his hands from getting roasted. He had yet to learn how to control water well enough to stand against other elements as packed and powerful as this one. Standing straight once again, getting tired by the physical demand it required his lack of magic abilities, Camille took some water from what he was gathering to and let it fall over his head and cool off in midst the hot environment the fight had created. His face faintly blushed from the unprompted complement she gave him, which he wouldn't have been able to listen from his booth as opposed to now that he was the middle of the battleground.

He couldn't ponder on how long her stamina would last because of his lack of knowledge pertaining magic. This was the main thought that crept into his mind at that point, his ignorance blinded both himself and his capability to work over what strategy was more convenient in this situation. Should he play the long game? or try to finish it quickly? if he chose the quick way, it wasn't as if he had a ultimate move that could blast the poor girl straight into to a wall or somehow subdue her. The long way then? Between the two, he was clearly gonna end up exhausted first at this rhythm so that wasn't the way to go. He had more chances with the short path to victory, but he would have to be more creative and improvisation has its limits.

The continuance of her flares made him feel they were back to when everything started, though this time he was closer and now she was preparing herself for a much more powerful move. Somehow he needed to stop her energy gathering unless he wanted a giant solar flare on his face or who knows what kind of hellish fire magic she'd turn out with. And so, his light bulb turned on. If the water balls already worked once, teasing her with them and going full assault could work pretty well to advance to her position and maybe try knock her off her feet. It was undeniably risky, if he got that close to a firebender he could end up seriously injured by the burns from her defense, considering he wasn't gonna be able to react with the same speed at close range. Still, he wanted to try out.

Before the first flare came into close range to lift up again the water arc, Camille sent her as fast as possible a whole pack of water masses flying through the air with less accuracy, but surely one of them would be aiming to her face. Meanwhile, he would take the initiative by advancing at a limited pace with his water mass gracefully moving it around to shut down the incoming fiery missiles. He thought of changing to a rotating ring type of shield with which he could advance easily, but that would require the hooning of his rookie skills. At some point during the whole mess of a fight he found it funny how this all felt as if he was being playful with her in the middle of the battle thanks to that water ball technique, just hoping she didn't get mad at him for soaking her dress or mask.

Was he really serious? She hadn't looked down at him at all, except literally, and he couldn't seriously blame her for that. She held her gauntlets close to her eyes, trying to keep the water out of her eyes still and occasionally glancing past, focusing on him. She couldn't respond at all or she'll just lose faster, just now was the moment where she knew she was going to lose, she wasn't good at magic and wasn't as capable as she would lead to believe. At this point, she was here for endurance, that and quite possibly blood.

She was being choked out at this point, she could genuinely feel herself dying a slow death at this rate, just getting more annoyed by his smug and stuck-up attitude. He was a spoiled noble of sorts, an arrogant douche who thought of himself too highly, had to be, needed to be put in his place. She pulled her fist back and punched forward, she wasn't close enough to hit him with her fist, but would he expect the misleading attack to be a projectile? The gauntlet had launched at him with the punch, and with all her anger and strength behind it, it would probably do a lot more than just bruise with the velocity it was travelling.

She gave no hesitation, pulling her other arm back and launching her other gauntlet right behind. With him needing to try and quickly react to the first, he might not notice the second, and even then, she was just going to abuse all of her somewhat limited magic at this point in an attempt to get closer. Win? Nah, break some of his limbs? Sounds like a pretty fun idea. Gathering up more of the earth around her, she formed much more condensed gauntlets which more heavily formed around her fists to her upper forearm, creating and punching them directly towards Gyleon. The condensed earth should make them fly faster and more aerodynamic, while hurting a ton considering so much would be pressured on such a small point. With the rate she was picking them up and throwing them, excess earth was being uprooted and thrown around him and directly at him without being formed into a weapon. There was no fear in her expression, but hatred.

Alice was still charging the thing she had no idea what was going to happen, she always thought it would be scary or dangerous to do, and right now she still believes that it is, but she felt pressured to prove herself in the heat of the moment. Remembering Camille's fancy poses and acrobatics and such, maybe she needed more of that for herself. She could sort of agree, she was probably not the most intimidating or scary person to come across and need to fight, so maybe adding on more to her mysterious appearance and persona could make her more intimidating, and push her opponents into playing more cautiously. At least that would give her more breathing room in the future unlike someone right now.

She kept the idea of keeping her homing projectiles to focus on Camille as she continued charging whatever it was she was about to do, her smaller random flares dying down in amount so she could charge just that slight amount faster, the glowing vibrance of the mass of fiery energy so bright she tried not to directly look at it, not paying enough attention and seeing one of his water balls coming her way again at a delayed reaction. It was a cute and funny way to duel, and knowing and seeing Camille it probably wasn't his only method of offense. But considering her hands were a little full, there wasn't much she could do to dodge or deflect the attack, getting struck in her face and body multiple times, faltering and recoiling with each hit, the last waterball sent her way being enough to ruin her control over the large amount of energy.

There was a strange feeling of losing all feeling in her body, both physical and magical, for a moment when she lost control of it. Alice watched the charge's wispy-like hot tendrils smoking and swirling around her arms and hands before quickly snaking away off her skin as it just became free, the sudden loss of Alice controlling it made it immediately detonate in a burst of flames as it expanded into a giant blast of a wildfire in Camille's general direction. The mere explosive reaction of losing control of it and having it released pushed Alice back hard, combined with her losing her strength causing her to fall backwards as well. Despite being a user of fire and rather acquainted with the heat and burn of her own flames, even she could feel the intense heat from it.

As she fell back, her personal wildfire released, she struggled to move her hands trying to push herself up but feeling rather weak. It was probably because she was still feeding energy and power to it when she lost control, she didn't have any practice with such power control either so she couldn't handle the flames as good as she could with her smaller flames which she could turn into missiles and be more tactically effective with. She felt a lack of magical strength too, finding herself unable to get out another attack. She couldn't see Camille past the blast, she supposed that meant Camille won, right?

Managing to gather the strength to push herself up, still sat on the floor, she felt weak still and as if she'd fall back to the ground in a minute or so, watching her finale for an outcome. It wasn't all bad if Camille won, at least she tried her hardest and went hard on him like he asked. And it's her friend anyway, they gon get snacks after.

As the water ball hit her general position to which his eyes were keenly put on, a sudden cloud of smoke and fire surged from her hands that expanded to high speeds quickly hiding Alice from his sight and the rest of the blazes. Immediately after this, a massive solar flare appears out of the cloud soaring through the battlefield, consuming the rest of the incoming projectiles and aiming straight towards him. How were firebenders able to control such power and release it like this without flinching? Alice's magic just couldn't stop amazing him. What about waterbenders? Would he be able to control and attack with that amount of strength at some point? He didn't know, less even imagine where water magic could lead him. This got shut down by his worries on how he was going to answer to her incredible attack.

2 seconds approximately, that's all the time he had to respond. The fire was large and powerful enough to not get shrinked at all by water splashes, not even mentioning that in that short period of time he wouldn't be able to do that. The shortest acrobacy he could make lasted at least 2 seconds, and even if he tried out what he had in mind, that fireball could damage one of his limbs severely. His abilities wouldn't let him create a water arc thick enough to counter it on time. What about a wave? impossible. He couldn't resolve on any other technique other than bracing for impact and try to reduce the blast damage as much as possible. Of course, his day schedule didn't have death contemplated, though this was an exaggerated thought from him it still sneaked into his mind.

He used one half of his time to gather as much water as possible. The adrenaline and high blood pressure made him feel as if he was collecting the element at a rate never before experimented, that whole second felt to him like an endless minute where he had done as much as he could, feeling this sufficient and ready for what came next. The next half was used to spread the water along his whole body, concentrating a large amount of it on his chest, which would be the first contact point and would have to withstand the whole pressure coming from the fiery attack. The time factor made it complicated to cover every part that need to be saved, so he only focused on upper and mid body portions, reaching from his face to half his thigh, only on the frontal part. His arms wouldn't be perfectly covered since they weren't the main point of impact like his chest, which had priority before any other section. His face would come right next and finally any other part left to cover. All of this was done in fractions of that second, but one last thing he had to do in order to save his body was relax his muscles. Essentially, this was done to break as fewer bones as possible since a more relaxed body distributes the force of the impact better than a tensioned one, plus he'd already seen his inevitable fate coming.

The fireball hit his chest strong enough to knock Camille down in a split of a second. The water he used as somewhat of a plate covering and whatever water was left on his hand got fastly evaporated by the intense heat, saving his skin from the possible burns he would've had otherwise. The impact on his upper body made it slam on the floor in one violent sequence of actions. He didn't have time to roll back in order to minimize injuries from the savage bash he just experienced, the force was too much and there was no gap of time he could've used. He felt immediately unconscious after that event, thankfully unable to feel the pain from a pair of broken ribs. And bruises on his arms. And scratches on his back. Evidently, the match was over with Alice as the winner and Camille, well... if Yekaterina wasn't able to heal him then the infirmary was going to be his next stop for the day. Last but not least, his hair ends got slightly burnt through the process. Crude, horrible fate.

Gyleon's attacks certainly seemed to be working at least, Levia was seemingly unable to focus on his position properly and her movements were becoming more unrefined and sluggish. Thankfully the forcing of water directly into her system finally managed to have some effect and halt the charging giant before she got in range. He thought this would finally be the end of the fight but the monster in front of him seemed to disagree as she punched out. He was slightly confused by the act but aware of the possibility of an attacks enough to avoid the first flying earth gauntlet, dodging to the right just fast enough to avoid it. He managed to see the followup attack coming but between the dodging of the first and needing to maintain the concentration for his water bubble, he wasn't able to avoid it in time, the giant fist connecting partially with his side.

Though Gyleon sparred a fair bit, it was only with his family of fellow water users so he was unused to degree of force and resulting pain behind an Earth user's attack. Even if it was a partial blowm his mind ended up blanking for a moment, the half bubble surround Levia dropping as a result. Due to the adrenaline it only hurt like hell but he was fairly sure that he had broken a rib or two. Unfortunately, his worries did not end there, Levia continuing her frenzied assault driven by suffocation and sending out more and even deadlier looking gauntlets flying at him. The only saving grace was that the culmination of his previous efforts made her attacks far less accurate, though he was unable to make use of it very much as he was left unable to do anything other than slowly move due to his injury.

Gyleon was left with the choice of defending from Levia's last assault by erecting a water barrier with all the power he had left to reduce the velocity and force of her attacks. Even with using all his power, it wasn't going to completely negate an attack however and he still had to deal with the explosions of missed gauntlets slashing at his sides and back due to the rubble acting as shrapnel. After what felt like an eternity when in reality it was only second, one gauntlet managed to come hurtling at him directly. Quickly he crossed his arms so they would take most of the impact and to further lessen the blow he jumped back as it neared.

Though it wasn't to a greatly noticeable degree, the water barrier did slow the gauntlet before it crashed into Gyleon's arm with great power. Although he couldn't hear it due to the intense pain, his right arm creaked and cracked slightly as it was fractured. Things did not end there however as after he stopped getting carried by the gauntlet for a couple feet, his back hitting the ground with a good speed and, his head also being flung back and hitting the ground. After the first initial bounce, his body did so once again before finally skidding to a stop and remaining motionless. Though he hadn't been knocked completely unconscious, it still took Gyleon a moment for his mind to process the pain and recollect itself, his head aching, ears ringing, vision slightly blurred and body sore all over.

Though Gyleon wanted to sit up and forced himself to stand, his body told him that was an extremely poor idea with his injuries. In the brief moment it was down her seemed to have gotten scratched up a bit more by the remainder of Levia's barrage. On remembering the young woman, he realized she probably wasn't in a great situation with having fought off the effects of water in her system for so long. Honestly he didn't intend for it to become as dangerous as it had, planning to stop the moment she seemed unable to continue. That plan was unfortunately laid to rest with her determination to seemingly fight until she passed out. Before she had any complications as a result, he lifted his head up to try and focus his blurry vision on the giantess' visage. Though lacking grace due to his pain and exhaustion and likely not comfortable, he used his remaining good arm to help guide any foreign water out of her system with the remainder of his mana. With his duty complete he went limp and was left to his thoughts oh how much pain he was in and how he was bloody and dirty.

Clara was very quickly overwhelmed as her newfound acquaintance lead her towards a large board with pieces of paper spread across it. Blinking a few times she squinted at the drawn lines but after a moment turned her head to ask nervously if the other could read it to her, however it seemed she was already leaving. Announcing that if Clara needed anything, she just had to yell after the match.

It was then more and more people began to surround her, she gulped a little, eyes wide as she backed away bumping into the wall before suddenly moving behind a nearby wall. Trying to calm herself she took a breath before the noises started, at first they were softer noises like people fighting, then it turned to loud bangs and explosions.
"W-What's happening!?" She stuttered out whilst holding her head, dropping to her knees in terror.

'You idiot... I told you to let me take over! Just- calm down already, It's a fight okay. They're fighting with magic. Which you'd KNOW if you ever actually watched what Miranda was doing! This is why I told you not to come out?!' The other voice yelled loudly, causing Clara to only panic more, "J-Just shut up! I-I just need to-" She was cut off however as another explosion hit. Eyes fading to a dull tone before snapping back to a bright sheen.

Standing slowly a smirk appeared on the blonde girls face as she cracked her neck and chuckled softly,
"Those idiots. Oh well- guess this is up to me. Just gotta work out who ma partner is- urgh. They just haaaad to write it." she rubbed the top of her head with a palm whilst resting her other hand on her hip. Walking forwards she couldn't help but get annoyed by dress, it was something she always hated about taking over.

Moving forwards alt glared as she walked into the arena area, trying to find an unaccompanied person she could at the very least get out some frustration on. Finally she came to a girl who's partner seemingly hadn't arrived, walking in she let out a small laugh.
"Let's get this over with, K'ay?.... I don't have time to waste on this kinda stupid stuff~" she said with a small forward stretch of her right arm before getting skidding her foot out into a more firm ground holding stance.

As the battle grew fiercer, Viola found herself edging in her seat- on the floor that was apparently. The thrill of competition, she has not felt such a thing for a long time. Viola never liked to hurt anyone, though she would lie to say if she were not competitive. She would race Noé for literally everything- the person to eat the most slices of bread in a minute, to run fastest down the slippery hall- even when the latter usually could not have cared any less.

In her mind all else faded out- it was just Levia and Gyleon. Though she knew she must be fair, she could not help but find herself rooting for the beautiful lady instead. Girl power, she always liked that. What's so wrong about looking cute and kicking butts at the same time? It was to the extent she even forgot what she was supposed to do- supervising.

"FINISH HIM! FINISH HIM NEE-SAN!" she shouted too fiercely at that, clenching her fist. Fire lit behind her amber eyes (supposedly blue behind her contact lenses), but then she quieted down when she felt that this might have gone a bit too far. There was something that changed within Levia's expression, and with a final hold, it was clear who won the match.

"Time out! Time out!" Viola stood up, rushing in between them and putting her arm forward. She then rushed at Gyleon's side, brushing her hand over his forehead. "Are you okay? That was a good fight, don't feel too down, m'kay?"

She tried to put her hands around him, then lift him up. Of course she failed- she was not made for heavy lifting. After a few attempted struggles, she sighed, dropping to her knees. "Levia-nee," she looked behind her shoulder, gasping for breath. "Can you please take him to the infirmary? I'll lead the way if you need me-" she paused. If the first years were to finish, that means she would have to fight next. But...she couldn't leave a student behind, not like this! She's responsible that way!

"Don't worry about my match," she said, and she could've sworn her twin tails lowered slightly as she said this. "You guys are more important. Let's go."
