Nissa
nissa.png

Nissa stood in the shade of the trees, she hated the sunlight. While it wouldn't burn her, she still didn't like standing in it at least now with her skin exposed. Crouched down she could see the entrance to the cave, there were rumors that a goblin chief inhabited these caves along with his tribe. Which did seem true enough as she heard rumors of goblins raiding the area though to what extent she didn't know. But to be honest, she couldn't even care about the mess the goblins were causing. She knew however the defeat of these goblins by her or her subordinates would bring her one step closer to becoming the demon lord.

Letting out a sigh she stood up and walked back further into the trees, the goblins would no doubt have look outs during the day. Her plan was to go in by night and start the attack by then. Though she wasn't entirely sure how many goblins were going to be inside. Nor did she know about any of their defenses. I mean they are goblins, so they might have some kind of barricade maybe, though I suppose we will find out soon enough. She thought to herself Drumming her fingers against her arm. The vampire looked up through the trees as several birds flew past and out into the sun light.

Sitting down on a fallen log she set her pack on the ground before flipping the top of it open. Revealing the jars of blood which was both her food source and what she required for her use of magic. Grabbing one of the jars she opened one of the lids sniffing the blood for a moment. Smiling she started to drink some of the blood before putting the lid back on. Wiping the blood off her face with her sleeve she smiled before placing the jar back in its place.

While a few shades of light hit the ground most of the area was covered in shade, Nissa's red eyes scanned her surroundings. From what she heard about the warlord himself he was rather large for a goblin, sporting a warhammer or well what the goblin equivalent of a warhammer. The most recent thing she heard that the goblin's raided a village and may have taken a few prisoners as spoils. Though again she couldn't confirm on deny the rumors, she could use hear magic to transform but that didn't seem like it would be helpful in this situation.

For the moment though she was content to simply wait for nightfall, the only part of the plan they would have to watch out for was to not get surrounded and their escape blocked off. Though while goblins were weak creatures in general their real advantage came from their numbers. That was the tricky part, if they were not careful they could be overrun in a matter of moments. But with the case at least the entrance, it seemed numbers would also work against them. But she hoped they wouldn't be kicking up a hornet's nest from the get go.

But this seemed like the perfect opportunity for her and her generals to grow and if everything worked out she planed on subjugating the remaining goblins to her side. Though to which general to give them to she hadn't decided quite on that one yet. Though she figured good things happen to those who wait. Which was a stupid human saying but it was from a place that seemed like an entirely different life or well in this case it truly was a whole other life.

Zolgen

Mentions: saxon saxon Uasal Uasal
Zolgen stayed near Nissa standing for the time being with his blades on his back once more. He was relatively pleased at the moment to have been accepted as an ally. Joining her as a general would ensure that he would be able to fight a many powerful opponents, at the very least he would desire to, as they grew in strength. Indeed Zolgen did not have the desire to be a passive general but one who would have a great field presence if had things his way.

Monsters or not Zolgen had no qualms about slaughtering opposing forces as much as desired, whether Nissa wanted him too or otherwise. He was less concerned with regular goblins than he was with fully armed and armored humans that was for sure, to Zolgen's understanding Goblin gear tended to be cruder, and it was really their danger in number you needed to be more worried about. In addition humans were likely a deal brighter than a many average goblins, while Zolgen had no way to confirm their leader would probably be the primary brains behind the operation no doubt.

He looked over at Nissa as she drank, waiting for nightfall along side her.

"So goblins? I can't say I've gone out of my way to deal with bottom dwellers like these but they may prove to be useful if we can establish whose in charge of these lands." He'd chuckle a bit.

"Enough of them and they can devastate even prepared parties of humans I know this much, afterall humans don't tend to do as well when you start taking away their catalysts and swords.." He continued still sounding a bit humored by the whole idea of. group of goblins ganging up on people the way he heard they did. He wondered if the leader would put up a good fight or if the goblins had gotten their hands on anymore unique loot that would be of interest after all killing would be adventurers and taking loot from them wasn't exactly unnatural to goblins who managed to do it. Currently waiting for further instruction or something to happen which was of interest to him.

Gra sat opposite Nissa, staring off into the distance, seemingly deep in contemplation. Perhaps even daydreaming. Her attention was clearly not on the conversation at hand, that much was obvious. But why? Well, it was obvious. Goblins were incredibly boring to toy with. As far as monsters went even dire wolves gave a better reaction. This conquest was nothing but a means to an end for Gra, this time around she would be deriving little to no pleasure from her actions. The sooner night came and went, the better. Gra honestly just wanted it behind her and it had yet to even start.

At the mention of humans though, Gra's attention was stolen back, even if only partially and but an ear. Still staring off into the distance Gra responded in a bored tone "Humans are defeated by Goblins because of pride. They overestimate themselves and underestimate their opponents. Goblins are weak, dumb, boring and smelly creatures. But when lead by a sufficiently smart Hobgoblin or otherwise. Well, they can become quite the efficient slaughter party. It's letting them get to that point, allowing their numbers to grow and leader to evolve that lands humans in so much trouble. After all 'why waste resources on a little goblin den'. Pathetic tsk".

With her tone shifting toward annoyed Gra continued "Humans put too much faith in their walls. In their gods. If a small swarm of rats can kill off a medium-sized village what makes them think a medium-sized band of goblins can't? If a fox can get at their chickens what makes them think they themselves are safe from the same faith? It's disgusting. So prideful, so delusional."

Nissa
nissa.png

Nissa looked over at Zolgen as he spoke, milling over a few ideas in her head before she spoke. "Well, even scraping the bottom of the barrel achieves something. The main thing is to kill the warlord notoriety amongst the monsters is a significant thing. The stronger our names are, the better our chances of obtaining our goals are." Nissa replied as she paused for a moment.

"But that is true; we can gather the human's equipment once they are taken care of. That would surely be a rather cheap way to equip an army. But first, we must get that army which I think goblins would be a nice first addition as meat shields, of course," Nissa concluded, standing up from her seat and watching as the sun moved across the sky.

Her other general spoke up, shifting her red eyes in that direction. "Sure enough, that is precisely why we are here. Taking over the den and putting it under more.... the ability to critical think will go a long way. If the humans don't see any goblins for a while, they will forget about them. While that happens, the plan is to grow our following and get this den in better order. Just don't let yourself get too prideful. Even a child can kill a seasoned fighter if the fighter's guard is down," Nissa warned before looking back at the entrance to the cave.

The group waited for several hours as the sun fell over the horizon and the air cooled off further, she looked over her shoulder at the two before turning back to the cave entrance. "So long as they don't plan on raiding to night we should be able to at least get close enough to the cave entrance before we are spotted. So the plan is to go in there kill the goblins that stand in the way and reach their warlord. Once we kill the warlord, hopefully, the other goblins left will fall into line. Though I'm not entirely sure how deep or long this cave is," Nissa pointed out before she motioned for the group to follow her down the path.

Drawing her sword, she moved down the path leading deeper into the ravine and toward the cave entrance. As the group got closer, they could see the light coming from the cave and the shadow of two figures. Stopping, Nissa tilted her head up and sniffed the air, instantly pinching her nose.
"Well those are goblins alright, I suppose we should get this party started," Nissa stated as she rushed up the final hill towards the goblins.

Zolgen couldn't help but chuckle some at the pure distain that Gra seemed to show for the humans. He didn't feel all of that perhaps, some of them were stronger and brighter than others and that's what made them so dangerous which excited Zolgen. Even if they didn't want to admit it humans were very capable of doing devastating things, why else were even much higher ranking monsters culled by them if that wasn't the case? There were people who went to the dark continent and survived, Zolgen hoped that he'd get to meet these humans one day so that he could do battle with them. He did however nod some at what Gra had to say, they certainly could be prideful. The ones Zolgen had killed before their last excursion certainly felt that way so sure that they could kill him, that certainly hadn't worked out in their favor.

Zolgen's head then turned back to Nissa. He was ultimately in agreement with what Nissa had to say. He was all in for killing this perspective warlord, he hoped that he'd be the one that'd get to deliver the blow, even if he wouldn't express that, taking life was something which Zolgen liked to think he was quite adept in.

Meat shields sounded about right in this context, that seemed reasonable to Zolgen. Goblins he knew had their own desires and if they felt like they could get their desires met then they'd follow them never mind fear being a factor.

"Yes arming and building an army certainly sounds of interest if we want to consolidate your power indeed." Zolgen replied. He did find himself chuckling some once more when she mentioned critical thinking skills, indeed these goblins might learn yet if they had a new administration to work under. Hopefully they wouldn't have to kill too many of them for them to submit when they realized what they were up against after they killed their leader no doubt. That was something even groups of animals understood, dominance by removing past leadership.
It seemed his prior thinking was echoed when Nissa warned them that even a child could kill a seasoned fighter with their guard down, "Well said my lord." He confirmed, continuing to kiss up to her a bit with the title, it was only natural for Zolgen to continue this approach for the time being as he thought it showed he had been serious with her offer previously.

Zolgen proceeded to idle the rest of the time with the others perhaps making some more talk here and there while watching out for the remaining hours until darkness had fell and it was time to move with Nissa and Gra towards their target. Thankfully it sounded like Nissa had a similar thought about killing the leader, Zolgen felt more confident in his decision to follow her as time went on, as he followed her down the path.

When Nissa drew her sword, Zolgen felt anticipation building when she confirmed targets were there.

"Allow me to start off our welcoming party." He said with a confident but malice intent filled voice as he ran ahead much like last time, Zolgen moved ahead as quickly as he could, if he could get in range of the two figures he'd attempt to catch them off guard by immediately using Demonic Twin Sweep If this move was successful his first sword would strike one goblin leaving a rapid traveling slash in a radial around him for up to five feet as the other sword would automatically follow because of linked, to hit the first nearest targeted goblin, hoping that the other goblin would be caught in the radial cross fire.

Moving forward past Nissa, without a single word, Gra followed behind Zolgen. Compared to their last outing, Gra's behaviour and mood had drastically changed. Bored, disinterested and very much to the point, it was clear even by the way she walked the woman had no interest in taking her time toying with the goblins. Indeed when Zolgen launched into battle the mage wasted no time following suit, catching the second goblin with a glance just after the meaty swing of her companion had left his friend dismembered. Eyes glowing a faint purple hue Gra glared at the monster with little to no lead-up.

Where she had verbally assaulted and tormented the old man before, this time the mage was disinterested in whatever vision the disgusting creature was being shown. All that mattered to her in this instance was the result "Go. Run. Tell your chief I demand a meeting. My lord, Nissa the future Lord of all demon kind has come to request a duel.". Speaking to the monster in the old dialect Gra grew visibly more and more disgusted by the creature every second she was forced to stare its way. When she finally broke eye contact with the creature she took a step back and gazed at the corpse of its ally "Nissa, offer this worthless chief thing, the head of its ally as proof of challenge when it arrives. If the chief accepts we can end this quickly."

Turning to her Lord, Gra's eyes softened as did her tone "You're a Lord to be, as such you must follow a code. Duels are to be honoured above all else, we don't have many rules but this one is important. Should this lowly chief refuse, then you acted graciously and it was he who doomed his forces to die. Should he accept and you win, well then the chief will be dead and you will become their new chief. Of course, as your generals, we too can take part in the challenge as your replacement in a capacity as champion."

Turning back to look at the body, Gra sighed "Just the head will suffice. It should show how serious you are". Pausing for a second she continued "though if you really insist on fighting them from the get-go, I will do as you command my lord"

Nissa

Nissa nodded as Zolgen replied, Nissa also noticed the lack of enthusiasm on the devils face as they moved closer to the mouth of the cave. feeling the cold wind on her face as she trudged up the hill, eager to deliver the first strike herself. After all what kind of leader would sit back and always let the other take the first swing? Just as she was about to rush in Zolgen spoke up, wanting to start the event as he jumped into action.

The first goblin was caught off-guard as Zolgen's strike cut down the first without even a chance of getting away from it. As he came around and brought his second attack, the second goblin ducked in time as a gash opened up on his arm, and was knocked off his its feet. The goblin was about to get up and attack again when Gra approached now and used her charm ability on the goblin. Though thanks to the injured and weakminded goblin there wasn't much of a chance as the creature dropped to its knees with a pained look on its face.

Nissa, now approaching the group after the others moved on ahead heard Gra speak about issuing the challenge. Pausing for a moment, she brought her hand up to her chin. Looking at the dead goblin and then back at the other she let out a sigh. "Ending this quickly isn't the point its about sending a message. Culling some of the goblins from their home will not only make it easier to control them. But, it will anger the goblin chief which in hopes he will act rashly and then I expect Zolgen will have a fun time cutting him down." Nissa concluded as she dropped her hands to her side.

"A code is only useful for creatures that think more than about their next food source, simply put we shouldn't have to worry about dueling with the chief until we reach him. Even killing a lot of goblins will spread our name even if its just a little bit. Besides, we do have more important things to do after this," Nissa concluded, delivering a quick attack to the creature's throat and watching it struggle for a few moments.

"Time to press onwards, though I think the smell is only going to get worse from this point on," Nissa theorized as she walked into the mouth of the case and was hit in the face with the smell of rotting flesh and decay. Scrunching her nose at the smell she had mentally prepared herself for the smell of the place. Needless to say that goblins were not ones to care about living in filth and squalor.

As she moved further into the cave, a fire was off to the side with bones scattered around, though she could see a passage that led further in. Pausing for a moment, she cocked an eyebrow as she was expecting goblins to be waiting for them, though the place was quiet. Did they run further in or are they laying a trap?" Nissa thought to herself as she pondered the idea for a moment as she approached the fire seeing some meat sitting over it which looked fresh. Meaning that they were here moments ago.

That was when the drumming started, as it echoed down the passage towards them.
"Well it looks like they are getting ready for us, who knows we might have to fight our way through a good chunk of them," Nissa smiled as she looked back over her shoulder at the group as four goblins rushed down the corridor. All of them brandished a crude wooden spear as they started to shout and echoed down everywhere off the walls.

Turning to look back at them, Nissa let out a sigh, "let the fighting begin," Nissa stated, smirking as she lunged toward the first goblin using a draining strike.

Zolgen was rather pleased when the goblin fell, feeling his blade go through it. He had hoped to kill the other one where it stood from the traveling circular slash but it managed to get out of the way. Zolgen liked Gra's idea of. getting to the good part as he was surprised to see her engage in dialogue with the other one, who he did not strike down since she seemed quite interested in speaking to it. As nice as it be if they could just get to the good part with the chief coming out something make Zolgen feel skeptical that they would be agreeable to the terms that Gra suggested. These were monsters after all, it was safe to assume they were going act like them, as they had acted towards others. Perhaps it would be a stubborn leader. Zolgen didn't have to think too much longer on the issue after Nissa explained to Zolgen's satisfaction before she struck it. Sounded like she was planning on letting him fight the big bad, which his eye sockets light up with glee. He nodded in agreement before he followed after Nissa diligently keeping his weapons out.

Despite being far from what one would consider pleasant smells like these didn't bother him as much as others perhaps. Rotting flesh and decay reminded him of the battlefields he had picked over in the past. He was used to being in these sorts of places on the dark continent before left which was a good deal of his existence before he made it to more friendly locations where he could get stronger before returning. Remembering those who were traveling who he had encountered with the others, he tightened his grip a bit at the thought. that one martial artist..had really irked him. The fact that a mortal was strong enough to stop his blows was unacceptable. Oh he'd show them later, he'd make a point of doing so. He'd make sure to take out his aggression on the foes to come.

"Surely they know that we're here by now." He said softly, in monster, when he looked over at the fire and Nissa had stopped noticing the bones strung about, he thought this was odd too, unless there were less goblins there than they had thought and they had retreated farther into the cave? That or they were acting smarter than they had thought. "Oh well wouldn't that be a shame.." He said with a somewhat sadistic tone. Upon seeing their enemy down the corridor however Zolgen lit up when she said let the fighting begin. He didn't want to risk hitting Nissa so he didn't go for a move like last time which was radial, instead he moved forward and focused on the 2nd closest goblin, getting in range so that he could use Demonic Twin Strike on them, bringing one sword forward before following up with the other with linked, his stature no doubt helping his reach.

Actions:
1. Move to Goblin closest to Nissa's target.
2. Use Demonic Twin Strike - Fighting Style Fiendish Twin Blade F, Linked F

Gra listened carefully to what Nissa had to say and although she had her own opinions on how to best deal with the situation, the final decision would always be left to Nissa. And Gra would always honour it so long as it didn't impede her own lofty ambition of slaying the god who cursed her to this form. Looking at the dead body of the Goblin Nissa had finished off, Gra's eyes scanned it in disgust. Useless even in death, how pathetic. Stepping over its body as she followed along behind her companions, Gra was careful to watch their flank.

When the group approached the goblin campsite, Gra hung back until Nissa had investigated the site thoroughly. A mage being caught off guard by a physical attack was a guaranteed death sentence and Gra, for one, did not quite fancy dying in this disgusting cave. Let alone to those lowly monsters. When the drums began to echo from deeper within the cave Gra moved to ensure she was well protected by Zolgen, keeping her distance from the man but orientating herself so that the demon was always between herself and foe. The back line was where she was most effective. And groups were her speciality.

Spreading her wings out to make herself appear bigger, Gra glared toward the three other goblins Zolgen had yet to cut. With a stone-cold expression, eyes glowing within the dimly lit area, and with her body backlit by the flames of the camp Gra launched her own offensive "You should have hidden when you had the chance. Your sacrifice will be in vain. Pitiful!". With her voice echoing through the cave, Gra targeted the three Goblins in her line of sight but were any laying in wait (max of two) they too would be caught up in the spell so long as they were goblins.

The attack was mental and so no amount of armour would save them from their fate. If their minds broke they'd be left as mindless husks, if they managed to to not brake all that would await them was intense phantom pain. Allowing Nissa or Zolgen an easier time following up.

Nissa

Zolgens strikes landed true as he cut down two of the goblins with little to no effort. Their final cries echoed down the hall as the beating of the drums continued. Nissa, on the other hand, landed her strike as she stabbed the goblin in the stomach only for it to try and using a thrust attack with its spear which only dented the armor.

Nissa looked down and then back at the goblin before grinding her teeth. "I just fixed this!" Nissa growled as she pulled her sword from the creature and used a driving strike again this time going through the small creature's head. As she turned to look at the last remaining goblin she was about to move when Gra used her ability the goblin screamed in pain before dropping to its knees and staring blankly into space devoid of any sort of intelligence.

Nissa cocked an eyebrow and then walked over to the creature kicking away the spear that was on the ground and tapping the creature before it slumped over the only motor skill that seemed to work was breathing. "Did you just fully break the goblin?" Nissa inquired turning around to look at Gra. Surprised as she was she knew that was going to be useful at times for sure though she wasn't sure if it became the goblin was just that weak-minded or that was the intent of the attack.

As the beating of the drums stopped she shoot a glance down the corridor that led deeper into the cave system waiting for a horde to come rushing out but nothing came. On top of that she didn't hear anything coming either so at least for the moment the group was now alone.

Zolgen was glad to see that Nissa could hold her own, as he would have gone in for an assist but she took care of the Goblin herself, as had he effectively slain the ones he had been hoping too on his end of things. He looked around the area, before spotting the last one. He could have jumped into action to kill that one as well but suddenly it dropped as Gra made herself known to them. It seemed to be in a great deal of distress until suddenly it wasn't like it's mind had been shutdown, despite it's vitals still working. He was unaware that Gra was capable of doing things like that. He was very entertained indeed at what he saw. Not only entertained but impressed, looking over at her with a nod of approval. Sure it wasn't as fun or bloody and gorey as he usually had it but if it stopped the enemy that was good enough for him.

"These ones don't even stand a chance..their bones break like twigs and their skulls are as soft as their bellies...I hope that they aren't all like this." He said to no one in particular after the fact. Looking around them. "But even with this first impression we shouldn't keep our guard down.." The usually rather physically brutish one spoke, even if Zolgen got quite violent, he had been a spree killer who managed not to get caught in his past life and took some form of intellect/luck to pull that off. He stopped moving however and listened passively looking around, but he didn't hear or see anything of interest in the cave system. He then turned to Nissa expectantly wondering what she wanted them to do, as he wasn't about to run off alone when things felt odd...

Grá Toirmiscthe

Gra moved to finish off the goblin with the heel of her shoe, driving the spike into its neck with as much force as she could muster. "I don't like resorting to it, Braking them fully like this is no fun at all. I'd much rather do it by hand. That said Goblins aren't all that fun to toy with anyway so I see no harm in doing so swiftly. There are those that can resist my spell and instead suffer greatly as opposed to breaking, though if that were to happen here against goblins I'd be quite pleasantly surprised."

Removing her heel from the goblin, Gra returned it to the ground and patted herself down. She turned to look at her Lord with a soft smile "Granted It's not the kind of spell that can be used in rapid succession. I can target up to five creatures per cast." Moving a hand to her chin in thought Gra further commented "Perhaps though, on further contemplation, a goblin shamen would be able to resist, they tend to have quite the mental fortitude."

Turning to Zolgen with the same smile Gra tilted her head a little to the left "Zolgen, if a shaman shows up do you think you could focus on them first? I fear I may not be of much use to you if they can target me from afar."

Nissa

Nissa clicked her tongue at the show the goblins had made thus far; turning to look at Zolgen as he spoke, she let out a sigh as the goblin's neck was cracked. "This is true, though we should keep our eyes open. These are goblins but they are probably the meatshields for all we know they could be watching us all right now," Nissa pointed out glancing around at the cave wall not seeing any hole in them though that didn't mean they couldn't see them. Goblins were tricky creatures they might not be the smartest but their threat was the numbers in which they could use to attack.

Walking further down the path Nissa shifted her eyes from side to side. "I would expect the one to be able to resist to be by their chieftain, the plan is to issue our challenge once we reach his throne. That should be a sufficient amount of culling from his tribe and on top of that I think we would have proven our strength by reaching him," Nissa explained as the group moved further into the cave.

Several goblin decorations were placed on the walls though they were simply skulls of their kills adorning the walls at random intervals.

4c0b2bf963710ae591a4dd9db281f027.jpg
Though there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to them, they ripped a few down as they passed by. Eventually coming to the end of the passage it opened up into a wide cavern with the sound of rushing water that seemed to spread on for a while. Off in the distance was a large bonfire of some kind and one could barely make out the drums that were beating.

"Well I think its safe to assume that is where the chieftain is, though I guess we will have to fight our way to him unless the goblins all ran away," Nissa stated brushing some of her silver hair behind her ear. No doubt the stronger goblins were waiting for them to spring a trap the further they went into the cave system.

Zolgen looked back at Gra as she spoke to him, noticing the tilt and smile a thought entered his mind that she really was much more pretty than the women he had murdered in his past life, who would have thought that something that looked like that was capable of doing the things he'd seen and head back at the barn. This world really was turning out to be rather exciting. Zolgen then nodded. "Of course we wouldn't want that to happen, your abilities are impressive, if a Shamen shows up I'll gladly remove their limbs before they can even think of what to cast." He reaffirmed sounding genuine enough.

Zolgen then turned his head back to Nissa and understood what she meant, it would be very like goblins to send some off to get killed while the leadership was plotting something. He knew that while a base goblin wasn't very bright it sounded like based on what Nissa and Gra said the aforementioned shamen or the hobgoblin which sounded like it was the leader would be much more capable of higher thinking.

"That sounds like an excellent plan my lord." Zolgen continued, in response to Nissa's comments regarding them culling the tribe with a show of strength getting to the cheiftan. The only thing Zolgen really didn't want to happen now was like a repeat at that village where all the guards were on him at once, he needed to be more vigilant and decisive, which he would here against the goblins. He followed Nissa diligently once more, keeping his blades out.

"Even if they're goblins I must admit their sense of decoration matches my own tastes." he said with a bit of a chuckle looking at the skull effigies they had put around. Sure they probably weren't impressive kills but nevertheless skulls and bones were evidence that the goblins could hold their own against some, certainly a requirement for monsters to live in this world.

Zolgen stopped when Nissa stopped hearing the rushing water as well, as he looked in the distance where she looked. "Right, sounds like we should proceed with caution then, it's very possible that they've been lying in wait for us near their leader which would explain why we didn't see as many earlier. I certainly don't mind going first if that's preferable my lord." Zolgen started to make his way slowly towards their target so that Nissa could stop him easily enough if she wanted him to yield, looking around with discernment around the cave, keeping his swords out, ready to strike anything that moved, while also staying relatively quiet, he wasn't about to run in wildly, since it didn't seem that Nissa was encouraging such behavior, he'd much rather fight some of them where they were than run into a large group of them alone if he could avoid it.

Gra clapped her hands together with a soft chuckle when Zolgen agreed to protect her from any shamans they might encounter, her devilish eyes hard to read much like her tone. "Thank you Zolgen, may your swords strike heavy and true!". Shaking her head the devil would add "Though I argue with you on one point, my abilities are far too lacking for such high praise. It's my Lord who truly deserves such."

Turning to gaze back toward Nissa, Gra's eyes fell to her sword "You drained that goblin of its strength. The precision needed to do so with a single strike, it's truly remarkable."

As the group moved further into the cave system they came across a wide open space. Water flowed alongside them and the distant sight of a bonfire meant they were growing closer to combat yet again. Keeping a safe distance behind Zolgen and just close enough to Nissa, Gra watched their surroundings carefully. Her eyes wandered the nooks and crannies such a cave held. Their flank was also a top priority for the woman, after all a goblin hunting or scouting party could return any minute unbeknownst to those within the cave. Indeed what was to say the guild in all their damned luck and divine favouritism hadn't opted to randomly send a 'hunting' party of their own.

Regardless of what came their way, Gra was on guard and ready to strike.

Nissa

Nissa looked out over the cave scape letting out a sigh as she listened to Zolgen and Gra speak their thoughts on the matter. "The plan only works so long as we don't get a whole horde of goblins coming after us. Even though we are near water, I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped out trying to ambush us using that," Nissa stated as she started to move down the path herself, glancing around just to make sure that they were not about to be jumped by a group of goblins.

"Well I mean if you are going for the creepy factor or just disgusting then sure they have great taste," Nissa sighed as she reached a small pool of water crouching down she touched the water with her finger. It was cool to the touch though she hadn't expected it to be warm by any means. She heard a rock shift as it tumbled and eventually fell into the water making a splash sound. Looking around Nissa didn't see anything at the moment.

"Thank you, but draining them only works for so long but, if you want the first crack at any goblins Zolgen by all means. I doubt Gra will be displeased to not be spared from the goblin blood on her clothes if she can help it," Nissa chuckled as she stood up and waited for the large creature to start to walk down the path. There was a singular parth that spread off from the others along the way leading to several alcoves which led to further tunnels. Though the group seemed to know their direction and that was the stone platform that had the drums on them.

As the group move further along, the darkness of the cave slowly became illuminated by the gems and stone that glowed in its walls. Every so often there was at torch every so often. As the group arrived at a up hill part of the path that led up to a stone platform, as the group reached the top three goblins dropped to the ground. Compared to the first ones they saw these looked much tougher and were more equipped.

There was a goblin with a staff which no doubt was a shaman thanks to the skull it wore on its head. The other two had a sword and a mace and were dressed in chain mail as the group readied themselves for combat that was about to take place.

It seemed like the demon was getting along rather well with his monster compatriots, something which wasn't all to common in the monster world, it probably helped that he was isekaied but he had also started to take a liking to the two of them. Zolgen walked diligently. forward seeing that Nissa did not object to him doing it, moving down the pass, "With pleasure my lord." He spoke pleased to hear that she was fine with him engaging the goblins first. It was a natural choice in his mind since he was used to fighting on the frontlines. He followed the path that seemed most logical to their goal destination to the leader since he was in the lead at the moment. He noticed the gems curiously wondering if they had any special properties. What Zolgen really wanted was to meet a monster who wouldn't try to kill him immediately who could craft and or enchant, since that was a valuable skill and he hadn't a clue how to begin, but he knew it would be a great leap forward in powering himself up if he could gain access to it somehow.

When the three goblins dropped, thankfully he had been on alert before he looked back to the pair. "These ones look like they're higher ranking in power, be careful." This time he spoke swiftly to them, before he did the opposite and started to gun it forwards towards the new threat with Fast F So that he could move up to 60 ft in one move action, with his blades drawn he decided to focus on the shamen as Gra had wanted him to do should such an ocassion arrise, the strategy was simple enough. When he got in range he used Demonic Twin Sweep, creating a radial of slash all around him in 5 ft in an effort to hit the three of them, hoping it'd catch them off guard, the blades coming in on either side, before he pivoted into Demonic Twin Strike
, brining the First blade down towards the shamen after the sweep and attempting to follow up with the second if it landed.

Actions:

1. Run over as many ft as needed tapping into Fast F if need be to a central position on the three.
2. Attack the trio with Demonic Twin Sweep E
3. Follow up transitional attack into Demonic Twin Strike F on the shamen specifically

"The less goblin blood I need to wash out of my clothing, the better. It's already stained my shoes". More than happy to play back against her lord's words, Gra's grin matched her features as she spoke. The more time she spent with these two companions the more she came to understand them and their behaviours. Their sense of humour and their tendencies. Nissa was a harder nut to crack than Zolgen but then again she was to be the demon lord so it was inevitable that Gra would need to grease the wheels of their relationship all the more to really get things going.

But that thought was cut short when three Goblins fell from the ceiling in an attempted surprise attack. One that left much to be desired. With Zolgen charging at the Shamen Gra took it upon herself to aid Nissa in her handling of the other two armoured goblins. Staring toward the Goblin on her left Gra's eyes came to light and her fear-inspiring gaze made an attempt to hold the creature in place until Nissa or Zolgen could finish it off following their dealings with the other two opponents. "Don't worry about this one, I'll try to keep him under my control until you two can finish him"

Before Nissa or Gra could act Zolgen surged forward toward the goblins as he brought his swords out. However, the goblins were not keen on staying in one place as Zolgen started his spin he hit two of the three goblins one the armored one and the shaman. However one of them moved out of the way. As he came back around for his second attack the bladed hit its mark the blade cleaved through the goblin's shoulder and as the second blade came around it sliced the goblin's leg off.

While the goblin was now missing two limbs that didn't mean it was completely incapacitated. The armored Goblin now had a chunk of his armor in the shoulder missing as it continued to move forward until Gra stepped in and used her gaze. While the goblins didn't stop completely Gra would notice there was some pushback from the creature. Though it was enough to make the goblin slow down to a shuffle.

"Very well I will deal with the other one then," Nissa stated as she moved to attack the goblin that had moved out of the way. Before she could get the first strike in the goblin lunged forward as Nissa brought her sword up to defend herself as the goblin's attack was repelled. "Really?" Nissa responded as she quickly counter using Grechnaucht as she swung her sword toward the goblin's torso and then readied herself to counter the next attack.

Zolgen upon seeing the rest of his party join on either side presumably, and the fact that he had successfully maimed and damaged one of the other goblins, figured that he needed to kill the Shamen before it casted some spell that could hurt all of them. He was determined to do that much. Truthfully he was surprised how well the armored goblin had responded to Nissa's attack but he knew she could handle it. The good news was that if they could subjugate some of these goblins they might be more useful followers than he originally thought if they could dodge and take hits from people who were like him, since Zolgen knew that he was more powerful than the average human most definitely. Meanwhile Gra's ability did a good job at slowing them down so that they'd be easier to hit in Zolgen's mind.

"Thanks for the assist." He said towards Gra. while he rushed at the Shamen who had presumably moved, going in for another strike. He didn't want to give it a chance to cast a spell or do something to turn the tides against them, so the less time it had to think and the longer he could keep it in fight or flight mode the better instead.

He once again moved in for a Demonic Twin Strike F bringing up his first sword and swinging it at the shamen once the gap was closed, before moving into a follow up strike if the first connected due to linked.

Presuming it was still in attacking range and hadn't been killed, suddenly sharp bone claws shot out of his fists which he attempted to impale the Shamen with, a right fist punch like motion towards it's neck, still gripping his swords.

Actions:

1. Close gap again with Shamen Goblin
2. Attack Shamen Goblin with Demonic Twin Strike.
3. If the Shamen isn't killed by the Twin Strike follow up with basic non ability punch involving Natural Weapons Retractible Bone Claws on the shamen.

Gra continued to hold her gaze, though somewhat surprised by the sheer will of the goblin standing before her. What was it the limbless beast was subject to? How was it that despite being limbless he continued to press forward in the face of certain death while subject to personal horror? His mind should have been a mess, taking such a blow should have left him helpless to her assault! This was a mere goblin! It made no sense. Was this the work of the shamen? It had been rather quiet and had yet to attack. Was it buffing the mental fortitude of its allies? If that were the case, how did it know of Gra's abilities? Were they being watched during the previous attack?

Taking a few steps back Gra positioned herself closer to Nissa, the goblin in question may not have had any arms but Gra wasn't going to test her close combat abilities when another ambush could happen at any moment. Sticking close to Nissa would allow her to keep up her gaze while relying on Nissa to support her should anything bad happen "Something isn't right. This goblin shouldn't be able to move. We may have underestimated the tactical ability of their leader. Do be careful M' Lord"

The shamen started to chant though this was quickly stopped as Zolgen impaled the creature with his sword cutting that goblin down with ease. Though there really wasn't much it could do anyway with missing two of its limbs, to begin with. With the chant now stopped and the goblin shamen now killed the Goblin that was slowly moving toward Gra let out a cry of pain as it dropped to one knee.

Though the creature still held onto its sanity the pain was clear in the creature's eye. It could easily be assumed that the shamen was buffing his allies mental fortitude to some degree. Though now that one was on his knee it seems the effect was weakened. The goblin was now immobilized down on a single knee. "Well with the shamen gone now that should make things a little bit easier for you," Nissa responded to Gra.

Nissa on the other continued to engage the goblin as the creature lunged at her as she deflected the strike away from her. Looking down she saw the goblin blood on her blade reaching behind her she produced her wand pointing the tip of her sword at the goblin before using the Blood Needle. The goblin caught off guard brought his hands up to his face as the blood needles struck the creature destroying the decrepit armor that was on him. The armor was now riddled with holes and considered useless as Nissa went in for another strike swinging her blade at the goblin's neck as it connected the head was severed from the body.

Vampire Honorguard.png

As the group was now fighting a lone goblin the trio could be heard the sound of metal boots echoing behind them. After a moment a group of soldiers entered the main part of the cave system. Nissa turning her attention to the new arrivals smirked. "Looks like the calvary has finally arrived." When the group finally arrived at the trio, two members quickly moved over and stabbed the goblin killing it.

"Vampire Honorguard is assembled my liege," A blonde-haired vampire stated as she kneeled down before Nissa. "We took out some goblin tunnels that we found on our way in. We are ready for your order," The woman concluded as Nissa nodded her head and started to turn back toward the group.

"Now, let us press on shall we? We don't have all day," Nissa stated as she motioned for Zolgen to take the lead once again if he chose to and with the arrival of the vampires the group's numbers had increased. Though now being seen as a bigger threat could bring more enemies or stronger ones. Goblins were always known for their numbers.

As the group pressed on the cave's path widened and after about 10 minutes of nothing they eventually came into sigh of a wooden barricade with a small group of 12 goblins, in this group of goblins there were 2 shamans. Which were no doubt buffing their allies though they haven't noticed the monsters yet. Zolgen would be the first to see the barricade due to his stature with the barricade looking to be about 10 ft tall.

The demon was pleased to see his enemy fall, and that Nissa seemed to hold her own which was a good thing once more. It seemed that Gra's powers had strengthened with the fall of the shamen, meaning that what they had suspected was true, they were casting some sort of magic to empower the tribe. When he heard the sounds of boots however he spun around with his swords at the ready, that was until he heard what she said and looked like.

Zolgen had not been expecting the vampire honor guard to roll up just like that. It was a welcome surprise. He really wasn't sure what he was expecting, but they seemed to be pretty official which was a good thing for Nissa to have on her side no doubt if she wanted to be taken seriously. He couldn't help but wonder what exactly had transpired to result in her gaining such a following. Part of him wasn't sure if they were necessary, it sounded like there was more than one when she said they, but at the same time the goblins they had just fought were stronger than he initially thought. This was going to prove increasingly true as they moved along it sounded like.

Zolegn gave a nod and wave towards them "Glad you could join us for the fun." Zolgen said with a bit of a chuckle at the end before looking around the now much less lively area thanks to the now dead goblins.

When it seemed like everyone was okay in the party for the time being, Zolgen eagerly took the lead since Nissa gestured for him too as he began following the path he had before through the cave towards where he believed it would lead them to the chief. He looked around the area every now and again, keeping his swords out for the time being. Upon seeing the barricade and that there were signs of goblins ahead, more than before he stopped in his place before he looked back to Nissa and the rest.

"They've set up a defensive wall and there's more of them..I don't think they''ve noticed us yet but they're blocking our way, how shall we approach them my liege?" He mentioned softly since he was the first to see, looking towards Nissa. Zolgen was not about to try to run towards that barrier by himself and scale it and start attacking the goblins by himself he knew better than that this time around, who knew what other magic shamens could cast, never mind the number disadvantage to blindly charging in without a way to easily take care of that barrier himself.

Gra followed along aside Nissa as the group moved deeper into the cave system, the sudden appearance of five other vampires though had come as quite a surprise. It was something the woman had thought would have come up in conversation prior to their arrival but Nissa hadn't even so much as hinted herself the leader of a pack. "are these vampires your mindless thrall or something more?". Turning to glance back toward the one that had spoken Gra's eyes wandered her frame carefully "I mean to say, are these vampires disposable or am I to treat them with care?"

Returning her eyes to Nissa Gra added "I must admit, the blonde does pique my interest.". Dropping the topic quickly when Zolgen spoke of a wall, Gra was quick to respond "A wall? This deep inside the cave? Just how well-prepared are these disgusting creatures?". Clicking her tongue Gra moved to inspect their numbers, careful not to be spotted "Two shamans. Cursed creatures. They could at least make it easy to kill them! Pathetic! What a waste of oxygen!". Turning to face Nissa, Gra straightened her posture "Your orders m'lord?"

As Zolgen spoke to the group about the barricade Nissa brought her hand up to her chin. Closing her eyes she moved a bit closer so she could see the barricade as well now. Well now that is going to slow us down a bit, there are 12 goblins and two of them are shamans. Though how effective can they be in a group of this size? A Blitzkrieg would probably be best for this situation but a full-on frontal assault is going to be a pain, though there isn't much way around it though I suppose. Nissa thought to herself as she let out a sigh.

Turning around she looked at the group as Gra spoke up.
"Well I would prefer to not throw away these thralls if we could help it but sometimes sacrifices are going to have to be made. So treated with care so long as it's possible to do so. Though If suicide missions need to happen then we might as well use all the tools are our disposal," Nissa concluded as she dropped her hands to her side. There were a lot of unknowns and questions that they didn't have the information to answer properly.

Vampire Honorguard.png
"The blonde one huh?" Nissa inquired as she spun around on her heel and then faced the barricade for a final time. "The plan will be as follows, the honor guard will act as the vanguard, followed by Zolgen and me. Zolgen your focus will be the shamans cutting them down and then ripping down the barricade. I will engage the other goblins." Nissa explained as she shifted her gaze toward Gra.

"Gra your job will be your typical supporting role, fear them, or break them it doesn't matter. But we need to get past the barricade, though I have a feeling once we get through the barricade we are more than likely going to either find the path to the chief or his personal guards are going to meet us. So this goes for everyone try not to tire yourselves out too quickly. Now, are there any questions?" Nissa inquired as she looked at her two generals.
