    Backstory: Achu was born in a huge chaotic and morally questionable family, with his father being a corrupt businessman and his mother a drug dealer. Achu was born the youngest of their 6 children, and at different parts of his life, he found each of his sisters and brothers inspiring and strived to become like them, dipping his toes in various skills and industries, learning how to paint, architect and doctor. Though he was never particularly good at any of them, or stuck with them till the end, he enjoyed giving them all a good try and strived to find his own passion one day. Unfortunately, just as he was growing tired of his current venture into athletics and hurdling, he was hit by truck-kun and transported here. His greatest regret is that although he explored each of his other sibling's careers, he never got to properly explore his eldest sister's, who was a talented musician that could play both the piano and the flute.
    Current Life: Achu's first memory in this new world, is that he awoke abruptly in a large grassland field in his current blobby body. Though of course shocked and aghast at what he had become, he adjusted much sooner than he would've thought, and before long was just speedily sliding around, consuming whatever leftover carcasses or fallen fruits he could find. Although the memories of his past life are relatively clear, the one thing he can't remember no matter how hard he tries is his original name. In the end, he decided to rename himself after the first noise he made after arriving here, which was probably a sneeze.

    Backstory: Born a sickly kid to a firmly middle class family, young Dylan didn't have much of a life. He spent quiet a bit of it in and out of various medical facilities. Never one with really anything constant in his life he found solace in the various shows he watched over the tv and live shows the hospitals would put on for the kids. His favorite were always the magic shows. Was magic real or was it all just illusion? If it was just an illusion how could it bring so much joy? On one occasion he actually was gifted a deck of cards and taught simple card tricks, not that he was any good at them. Still as his condition worsened he kept trying and trying to master the cards but never seemed to be able to. One of his last thoughts before his passing in the same bed he had been stuck in for the last two years was just Dylan wanting a bit more time. Just the smallest amount of time so he could say he accomplish something even as small as a card trick.
    Current Life: Born as Aemon to a well off elven family on the edge of societies norm, he had no memories of his past life save but two. A constant fascination with time and simple card tricks would follow him through every stage of his life to this point. His dedication and fascination with the subjects led Aemon to scower ever magic book his family owned. It led him to the conclusion that it was in fact possible to manipulate time, he just needed a focus for it. Using his cards as the focus Aemon managed to manipulate the very basic fabric of time. Nothing extreme of course, but with the possibilities of something greater. Knowing he could no longer learn anything else in his family home, he set out from home seeking to find what the limits of this power really was. Maybe just maybe he could find the root cause to his almost obsessive desire with playing cards and time.

    Backstory:



    It all happened so fast, an uprising against a corrupt monarchy, the militarization of technology, the creation of a rebellion and the aftermath of a devastating war for power between two opposing forces.

    Arias world was in ruins, most wouldn’t survive the aftermath of the first cataclysmic confrontations. Those who did chose a side, or were caught in the cross fire.

    Aria, found herself serving the rebellion, she believed in the message of liberation for a better tomorrow, where everyone would have equal share, where no one was more than another.

    But to her disappointment the rebellion eventually became that which it sought out to defeat. Whatever dream that began as a fight for a better world, soon became corrupted, petty and a means to further the ambitious agendas of lesser leaders. Now they only fought to kill and prey on the vulnerable. Nothing more than an organized mercenary group, under the banner of “liberation”.



    In the end it only amounted to a struggle to determine who would dominate and exploit whatever was left.

    She’d risen through the ranks as a soldier but now as a strategist would soon see the true outcomes and gains of every battle. Risking it all only to realize that in spite of talent, luck and casualties the enemy always figured out a way to recover whatever was lost. Essentially stuck in a never ending war.

    Aria began to suspect. A suspicion that would ultimately end her life. As every battle that was won or lost, the rebel leader began to question her officers, her colleagues, even her bravest soldiers. Something wasn’t right. And she was determined to find out what.

    The services of her most elite spy were employed swiftly to verify her deepest suspicion.

    She’d sent him to the headquarters of the rebellion leadership themselves.

    Weeks past and her conjecture was proven in the form of documents confirming the rebellion leaders were in league with the remnants of the monarchy. Their very sworn enemies.

    But little did she know the spy was also working for them. Discovered and paid exuberant sums of resources in exchange for his loyalty.
    Aria was quick to respond by preparing her troops to besiege the traitors. She was prepared to claim leadership, and change the course of history. And to pay back the cowards for their misdeeds, for using people as nothing more than pawns on a board; a means to no end. But on the eve of their departure, Aria was murdered in her sleep in the early hours of the night by an unknown assailant.



    Only rumors remain.

    Current Life:



    After her death and experiencing a conversation with God, Aria felt a boiling hatred for those who betrayed her. Although thankful for a second chance in another world, Aria couldn’t help but feed a festering hate within her. After seemingly appearing in Ryke, she soon began to develop an ability to manipulate a blade with nothing but her mind.

    As she trained she worked at the local tavern, making only enough to get her by in life. It wasn’t an ideal career, but it allowed her to understand the world.

    She understood the importance of knowing what was happening in distant places.

    As the months went on, she began to develop another set of abilities that would allow her to appear in different places. Although her abilities were still in the budding phase of martial prowess, she’d wander about looking to sharpen her abilities.

    Perhaps there were others who knew more, maybe there was a way to return to her old world, a dormant ambition that fueled the vendetta against those who betrayed her. For now, she’ll have to once again rise through the ranks. Whatever that might mean.

    Backstory: Hans Dietrich lived a rather normal life up until his days after graduating highschool. Not a perfect childhood, but not a problematic one by any means. Since then, Hans had a fascination for racing. He started working towards making a living off his passion ever since he was able to ride a vehicle. His skill was apparent, as he managed to get a job as a pilot in no time. Life was going good, until one day in Nurburgring. The super speed car he was asked to test had a catastrophic failure, making it flip, crash, and explode with Hans still inside.
    Current Life: After having the strangest conversation of his now gone life, with [god] of all people, he was set on his way to a new world. One that apparently was basically a living fantasy world of his original realm of existence. With a new name imprinted on his mind for himself, Arkh,woke up in a grassy plain. How he got there, what was his actual relationship with the world around him, or if people knew this new body of his as an acquaintance, were questions that eluded him. That said, sitting around would amount to nothing. So he headed for the nearby city, and tried to learn more about the world.     Backstory:


    Astrid was a scientist in her previous life, majoring in Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence. Her real name was Chen Hui Yin before she changed it after being reincarnated.


    Being born in Beijing, China, Hui Yin had always been the "quiet kid" in the class and rarely spoke. That didn't mean she was shy, however, as she would speak up whenever something catches her fancy or she deems that asserting herself verbally was needed. In her typical silence, Hui Yin's mind had a habit of constantly observing others and soon developed a knack at picking apart the true nature of those around her. Since young, she found joy in building and tinkering with things, finding comfort in objects of her own creation.


    By the time Hu Yin was 18, she had picked up English as a second language and moved to America to attend University. Her interest in Philosophy and the creation of Artificial Intelligence seemed to have stemmed from her views towards God and Religion. She was not an atheist, for she did believe in the existence of a divine authority, but she did not consider Humanity to always be inferior to their supposed creator. According to Gnosticism, humanity all contained a shard of the divine spark which fell to the mortal plane into the bodies of humans. As such, it should be possible for anyone to harness a fragment of the divine's capabilities and can later temper the tiny piece into its completed state.


    Hui Yin's obsession with the creation of Artificial Intelligence was in a sense a challenge to the divine powers of creation. That the ability to create life was something only exclusive for the divine. The creation of a fully sentient and sapient A.I would be the combination of the phenomena and the noumena. These two opposite concepts would be brought together and the impossibility of their union would thus reject the identities of both.


    Hui Yin received many backers to her project, including access to the database of information to assist with deep learning. The ability of humans to form connections at an instant is often an overlooked feat of our brains, and something a mere computer would find difficult in doing. Simulations were run, setbacks were overcomed, and a prototype was created. The expression of a soul in nothing but ones and zeroes was accomplished, utilising her own brain scan as a template for the prototype model


    However, not long after the prototype was set for a presentation, Hui Yin was killed in a hit and run accident. Of course, it was by no means an 'accident', as many secret societies either sought to claim the information for themselves or deemed the unchecked A.I as a danger to society. The fact of the matter was, Hui Yin would die on 2nd April. Her birthday.

    Current Life:


    Hui Yin would wake up near The Duchy, a region west of the continental Lake. It was a place where people surrounded themselves with artificial creations, much like herself in her previous life; only more sociable. Kneeling beside her was a 15 feet tall Mecha Golem, which startled her at first but realized it had been a starting gift.


    The conversation with the entity claiming to be "God" had been a fruitful one, in which she extracted enough information to determine what sort of world she would be sent to. For that, she changed her name to Astrid Naréssyr to better fit in with the populace. She neither questioned the legitimacy of the one claiming to be god, nor did she launch any inquiries about its nature, for such questions would be pointless with her state of powerlessness. Besides, the one now known as Astrid vowed to leave her previous life behind and live in the new world as a different person.


    As Astrid, she would spend a few days tinkering with the Golem to identify its innerworkings. The unfamiliarity with the technology of this world eventually caused her to reach a dead end, but Astrid did figure out two things. The first was the presence of magic, as it was the only reasonable explanation as to how the mech was powered. The second was its controls, learning the fundamentals through the rigorous trial and error she had been well known for in her previous life.


    Despite her scientific prowess in the other world, the vast differences rendered her helpless in the face of the arcane; which did not fail to upset her. It wasn't that she hated magic, but the fact that she had to learn things from scratch and disregard knowledge she had worked tirelessly to obtain in her previous life. As she had vowed to leave her old existence, Astrid had to begrudgingly accept the change in environment and start to adapt.


    She would spend a few days in the Duchy, learning the basics of helming and crafting these Mecha Golems but she would not stay for long. It was more enjoyable to be away from others and figure things out on her own. And so, Astrid began her wanderings.

    Backstory:
    Aya before she died was on her way to her graduation ceremony. She was a fairly typical student not really the best but not the worst either. She was fairly popular person never really wanting for friends or someone to talk to. But on the day that she died she took a detour from her normal route because she was going to be late to school. Well upon turning a corner she tripped on over a curb while eating some bread and died because she choked on the bread, and no one was around. Due to this fact she acts like she knows nothing of her previous life because of how embarrassed she is about her death.
    Current Life:
    Aya was born to immigrants that moved to Ryken two decades before the rise of the current king. Taking odd jobs, her parents eventually saved up enough money to open up an Inn. Which they named the Ancient Fox Inn, five years before the rise of the current King Aya was born and is an only child. From a young age, she saw how things worked around the Inn. Her mother often brought out the food and dealt with the guests while her father kept the finances and people in the Inn orderly. When her parents were too busy Aya was often watched by some members of the staff that worked at the Inn. Often other immigrants moved to the area and there were a few locals as well.

    When she was younger, her father would tell her stories of his time as an adventurer before he moved to Bruma. Which inspired a longing to explore new places and see what they had to offer. At the age of 8 she started to help around the Inn learning that if you wanted something you were going to have to work for it. Plus she met a lot of people from different walks of life as she grew up working at the tavern. Ranging from the poorer people to the guards that would come to the Inn to drink or eat.

    The Inn itself has become a fairly popular place for the common person to come to, many travelers would that had stopped at the inn before would always come back. Generally around the same time of year. Often telling Aya stories of their travels and of the adventures that they had come across. Now that she is old enough she intends to join the adventure's guild.

    Backstory:
    The world of Fantazoica is a place where fantasy and prehistory become one; coalescing into an environment dominated by sapient dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts of many shapes and sizes. Civilization can be found aplenty, whether annexed as a portion of a vast kingdom or a humble town out in the wilderness, each ran by a plethoric variety of unique characters. It's here where'd you encounter the lavish frills of ceratopsian dinosaurs, like Triceratops and Styracosaurs, serving as armed knights flanking a royal family of feathery Dromeosaurs down a red carpet. In the local marketplace, a whole variety of unique and wondrous beings come together in a giant melting pot of different sounds and sights. To your left, you might see the bizarre figure of a Chalicothere shopkeeper conversing with a sail-backed Dimetrodon on what the best types cycads and horsetails for its garden. In the distance, huge bipedal sauropod guards flank the outskirts of the town square patrolling the perimeter, keeping a high eye out for trouble from atop their long air-filled necks. To your right, an Allosaurus picks out a fresh cut of meat off a non-sapient fantastical "retrosaur", leaving the resident Therizinosaurus butcher to slice them into select pieces with her long scythe-like claws, while her small Rhamphorhynchus companion retrieves the customer's payment of 5 silver coins. A Stegosaurus merchant converses with a crowned Estemmenosuchus on the sidelines, as they snack on a salad of green ferns and fruit beside a fountain. You even manage to spot a family of Mononykus scuttle under the feet of huge Mammoths and Hadrosaurs carrying tiny baskets of red berries back home.

    Across the world of Fantazoica, one could find many such sights and more within the various towns and kingdoms across the three continents. It's here where herbivores and carnivores - once mortal primordial enemies - live side by side in relative harmony; being as unified as it could get. But even so, conflicts between the two tend to flare within the political sphere; with one side claiming they are superior and how the opposition isn't, while others strive to keep the progressional achievement of inter-species equality in check. Or how one Kingdom deserves to keep a portion of land claimed by another through one reason or another. The civilizations governing the land are both as hardy as they can be fragile; a balance that must be maintained for all to enjoy.

    Baharius was originally an esteemed Spinosaurian champion born in the desert kingdom of Afroiya within the southeastern part of the Powandian continent. He served in the military as an esteemed general and was generally beloved by his troops for being both a powerful yet caring warrior. In battle, he was seen as a terrifying opponent who'd cut his enemies down with his giant great sword; said to harbor the power of a magical oasis and unleash powerful streams of water down upon his foes. yet whenever he was instructed to conquerer a town or city during war, instead of cutting down all who opposed them like most other generals of his carnivorous talents, he eased them into his Kingdom's cultures and beliefs through a gradual and negotiable process. His respect towards his conquered subjects had made him a popular choice for those within his sphere of influence and was revered even by those opposing his own kingdom. For he wished to see a unified continent where all could live under one roof in harmony.

    For many years Baharius served his kingdom well; annexing territory after territory through his many victories and conquests of the lower and middle Powandia. His elite military regiment, once containing only carnivorous Saurians, had become a multi-species regiment of both dietaries and many species. He made sure that each served their purpose well, utilizing their strengths and niches to every part of his formation. And it's through this successful strategy, one surprisingly underutilized by most generals, that allowed him to achieve his level of fame; with many considering him to be the next great king of Afroiya.

    But as with all great leaders, he would eventually meet his end. To the north, neighboring kingdoms from the continent of Lauritacei feared that the Spinosaurian general was going to one day take over their lands. The carnophobic warmongers also feared that his plot of unity would not only bring more carnivores to the area, but also disrupt their profit margins by taking advantage of the racial/speciest discourse. Thus they devised an elite regiment of some of the toughest herbivore soldiers from across the kingdom - lead by the infamous sauropod General Dread (a Dreadnoughtus) - and made their advance towards him.

    When the two armies finally met, they engaged in a climatic battle to decide the fate of the world as they knew it. The two generals clashed in a titanic showdown on a stormy afternoon, battling in what's known as the Swamps of Kem. While Baharius seemed to have the upper hand in the first half, reinforcements were quick to assist General Dread's forces and Baharius would fall in battle, crushed underfoot by the sauropod's massive weight. His ribcage shattered, as the force of the impact ruptured his organs, leaving the Spinosaurian to bleed out in dreadful agony as he watched his forces fall one by one... before his world plunged into darkness.

    Current Life:
    When he awoke in Isekai Hell, Baharius was forced to start out with nothing to his name. His title, armor, and weapons, were all gone. Only his body survived the resurrection, yet several abilities he once took for granted had also vanished. He was in a strange new land, one just vaguely familiar yet otherwise completely different. Hairless bipedal mammals dominated this world, along with a variety of other similarly built individuals of different races. Of course, he couldn't forget about the variety of fauna and monsters that littered the realm, where once he'd see them as sapient allies, he found them reverted to their primordial roots. The humans initially found him as revolting as they were, some even trying to kill him on his first few days. He was forced to adapt to these newfound conditions; and adapt he did.

    Still retaining some of his warrior roots, Baharius was initially drafted into being a gladiator for a local arena. His unique looks and monstrous appearance made him both a terrifying yet popular attraction. He was quick to retrieve a great sword and armor from his fallen opponents and once he gained enough money through his victories, he decided to leave and become a mercenary for hire. This all happened within roughly the first few months of his stay here. But the Spinosaurian still strived for a potential way home.

    Could he return to his homeland and avenge the death of his comrades?

    And if he couldn't? Well, perhaps it would be for the best. For now, he'd better make himself comfortable. For his adventure into this Hell has only just begun...

    Backstory:
    Cayde was born to a pair of ambitious adventurers who sought to document and catalog the unique flora and fauna of the Ryke wilds. But, while his childhood was full of adventure and excitement, there was always danger around the corner. Due to the nature of their occupations, his parents would frequently engage with the less-friendly natives of the Ryke wilderness, and little Cayde, with his childish curiosity, would consistently find himself caught in the crossfire. Eventually, his parents decided they couldn’t raise him in such a hostile environment and traveled to the capital of Ryken, where they would put him under the care of his uncle, Zane Whitinger.

    During his years with Zane, Cayde developed some animosity towards his uncle. He believed Zane took him away from his parents, removed him from a life of adventure in the wilderness to slave away in an apothecary. Regardless, Zane raised Cayde as if he were his own, and soon the two would find a common interest: Alchemy.

    Through countless experiments together, Cayde’s hostility towards his uncle would slowly wane, and soon he’d start to study Alchemy himself, hoping to follow in the footsteps of his uncle.
    Current Life: Cayde lives in Ryken and works at his uncle’s apothecary: Bits and Bottles. While he helps his uncle prepare and sell potions and other remedies, he also takes an apprenticeship from him on the side. Recently, Cayde has been preparing to leave his uncle’s shop and begin his journey, seeking to expand his horizons outside the city walls.

    Backstory:

    A life of peace and service, Claudia spent most of her relatively brief life as a nun, having been taken in by a covent as an orphan. Having already been a 10 year veteran of the Faith at the age of 25, she was tasked to help lead and organize a mission trip. One to a particularly nasty part of the world.

    They were careful, and things went well for the first week or so. Until religious terrorists raided their camp. She and the Priest heading the mission quickly loaded the children as the savages were indiscriminate in their barbarity.
    In the end the majority of them were saved, but Claudia was forced to give her life as a distraction.
    Current Life:

    There was no transition or respite for her. As her life drained from her opened throat her vision faded from the world she once knew and into a new one.

    She was young again, very young and very lost. The only bit of comfort afforded to her was a precious momento. A timepiece, gifted to her by Archbishop Mercer when she transitioned from Noviciate and took her vows.

    Her surroundings were wholly foreign to her, as well as the nature of her existence there.
    As if she had materialized in that very spot.

    Time only exacerbated her plight. Soon her old life began to become muddled and faded, like a dream.
    She couldn't recall names, then faces, places, concepts. After a while all she had left was a shadow of a former life, murky and incomplete. Almost indistinguishable from a dream.

    Claudia may have gone insane where it not for Master Dashi. Or very well died, again. He came across her stumbling through the thicket and subsequently hunted her down when she ran. A bipedal hound was a demon if she'd ever saw one.

    Despite the traumatic nature of their first meeting, Claudia would grow to idolize him. For his fairness and determination to lead her down a path of amelioration.

    As it stands, she would (and has) killed, lied and suffered at his request.

    Under Master Dashi's tutelage, she learned to defend herself and others, the art and honor of service and a reopened a conduit to her past self.
    His impartment of the existence of Gods and his experience with the matter spoke to the dormant remnants of her past self. Images and convictions began to return to her, though lacking any meaningful context. She could only truly recall the feelings attached to them.

    She felt compelled to embrace many of the echos, as a means of evocation.
    In some respects it worked, she remembers essence of her lifestyle and beliefs but neither in any detail.

    Currently, her estimation is that she spent her days in reverence of a great being, father to all in the land. Who's spirit dwelled within the hearts of all his children, crux lay high above the stars and who's sign was a cross. Though nothing else beyond that.

    Magitech-1 Garland Earthbolt Rifle
    Range: 600ft

    A controversial weapon to many mages, boltcasters put the power of a sorcerer in anyone's hands... but the Garland goes a bit further.

    An odd design, from an odd designer, its model strays from traditional boltcaster shape and function. Rather than projecting magic in raw or elemental forms, the designer claimed to want to focus on the "oft under appreciated element of Earth".

    While generating matter for Earth magic is no small feat, this ingenious rifle gets around the issue by have the user INSERT a specially made lump of metal to be used instead. The magic therein, is only used to launch the Earthbolt at extreme speeds at the target.

    By coincidence or design, this unconventional approach has its benefits. With the Earthbolt itself not being magic of origin, it can very deceptively overcome the tricky magical resistances which has hindered other Boltcasters before. Secondly, all the magic that might have gone into generating a magic bolt, can now focus entirely on the launching the Earthbolt to extreme ranges.

    While this sounds great, a key factor kept the rifle from gaining much popularity among boltcasters. And that is the requirement of supplying the bolt oneself. That it must be of specific size and shape and material to operate properly. Not to mention you can only shove so many in your pockets. This negative outweighed the positives... and while it may not be common, there enthusiasts who will swear by them.

    Backstory:
    'The child' was the firstborn son of an Ammonite king, but he was sacrificed as a baby to the god Moloch before he was even given a name. As a result, he didn't manage to understand anything of the process that preceded his revival in another world. He sometimes experiences a very vague sense of 'not truly belonging' that troubles him, but he attributes it to being an orphan.

    Current Life:
    Ceylan's arrival in the next world was problematic at best, as his spirit took hold of a stillborn child that got revived by his spirit's sudden presence. Whilst his parents thought it to be a miracle, the rest of their family and their surroundings did not, believing the child to have been possessed by a demon and brought back to life as some sort of undead. Ceylan's parents were eventually pressured into abandoning him less than a year after his birth, as he might have otherwise been killed.

    That's why Ceylan was left on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the Syncretist Church with nothing but a note that read his name and a single silver coin with a depiction of a winged humanoid on both sides of it. He was treated well, albeit strictly and sparsely. He didn't lack in anything serious, other than perhaps affection. He was able to develop a love for reading and eventually started to study the religion to which he owed his life. It wasn't long before he became a deacon, the lowest-ranking of the clergyman, which set him on the path to priesthood.

    The Syncretist Church's core tenet is as follows: “The truth of a religion is presented by its effect on the world.” Syncretists believe that many religions are valuable, for all of them may be ways to bring salvation to the masses. As a result, the Syncretist Church tries to blend all sorts of religions into one faith, wherein the 'what' becomes less important than the 'how', meaning that the actions that stem from a faith are superior to its theological foundation. That latter is why they focus heavily on healing, medical research, peace negotiations, sheltering orphans and all sorts of other charitable work that one might think off. On the opposite end, they reject any faith or religion that brings harm to people or that merely strives to enrich its clergyman. Whilst the lack of one clear god to follow might shy away some people, the Church's focus on healing and their research into it are famous through-out the country.

    The latter is why Ceylan himself studied healing magic along with religious texts, whenever he wasn't giving readings on Syncretism and putting his healing magic into practice in hospitals. A few years after coming of age, he finally managed to attain the rank of priesthood, which prompted him to start travelling through-out the country. He's very sincere in his desire to help and heal the less fortunate, which he always puts first. Actions first, conversion second. Even so, he hopes to rise through the ranks within the church, as he learned how much more effective the actions of those in positions of power can be. He'd found his goals when he saw one of the church's cardinals take action to prevent an entire village from starving, which was a scale of aiding people that he aspires to become capable of.

    This solitary word, once uttered, is as sweet as honey on her tongue. A fell smirk crosses her fuchsia lips as she drops a rondel dagger onto the ground before her dissidents. Like dutiful puppets, they scrabble for the blade. Her body wreathed in chilling energy, Clarice turns away as if to spare her fair skin from the ensuing bloodbath. Her eyes, now pitch black portals to a warped hellscape framed in bubbles of glass, drift toward the setting sun.

    The amount of raw data flooding the Sapphire Dragon’s mind would have reduced the brain of a lesser being to a liquified mass of grey slop, but [Clarice] could process all of it without Stygio. Moreover, she could transform it into actionable intelligence for her Replicas and Wraiths and issue orders via her paranormal hive mind in real time. If she desired, she could assume direct control of full companies of men while offloading the burden to forces in low priority engagements.

    Yet for all her talents, [Clarice] cannot turn the tide of this war. All she can do is liberate as many Taken as she can. She commands thousands; they command millions. Today, the Sapphire Dragon of the Devil’s Crown would finally fall and the world itself would be unmade.

    It started roughly a decade before her rise to prominence. Her foes, the Collisse, arrived on an asteroid that splashed down in Lake Nene. With their jellyfish-like bodies, they quickly adapted to aquatic environments. As invasive species are wont to do, they spread throughout the world moving from freshwater to saltwater and back again to populate other continents. Terran biologists failed to properly study these creatures, for if they had, they would have learned that the blighters could embed themselves in people’s bodies and repurpose them to suit their needs.

    [Clarice] heard the Terran’s “Final Broadcast to the Free World” and took it as a call to action. Time and time again, she risked her name and fortune in frantic bid to unite the world against the parasites. Again and again, the world rejected her.

    And so she schemed as dragons are wont to do. She allied with the underworld, supplying them with cutting-edge armaments in exchange for their loyalty. She propped up radical political groups - militants, cults of personality, and everything in between - to give the world a fighting chance. She initiated polarizing propaganda campaigns portraying herself as a bloodthirsty maniac to encourage an arms build-up and force the populace to feel visceral fear or zealous patriotism. She spearheaded unethical research programs and constructed weapons designed to commit atrocities. She poured everything, even her humanity, into protecting a world that didn’t want her. At last, she staked a lifetime of torture to gain an Emperor’s ear and succeeded. Alas, it was already too late. Cities were already falling to the Collisse. Militaries were sabotaged at the highest echelons leaving the rank and file rudderless as hordes of parasites descended on them. Powerful beings retreated from the world as the Collisse bled the mana from the spheres.

    And still [Clarice] kept fighting. Her world and her people - the mortals descended from those who once worshipped her kind as living gods - were doomed, but she never stopped trying. She would return as many souls to the gods as she could and then she would die gloriously. If left unchecked, she would rend flesh and bone with the unerring, untiring rhythm of a machine until they brought her down!

    The Capital Ship DCS Iustitia pitches to the side as if struck by a colossal kinetic force. This shouldn’t be possible: the Shields are holding at 60%. Cecelia expertly recovers only to recoil in shock as something tears the hardware linking her to the Iustitia from her skull.

    The voice Cecelia now hears freezes the blood in her veins. She hears waves crashing upon the shore. Waves dashing a ship upon the the rocks. Picturesque panic. A voice from Outside speaking in a language she has never heard yet somehow understands.

    Cecelia stares directly ahead, petrified, as an Elder God sets his hand on her shoulder. In that moment, she feels as small as a gnat. She knew her Second, Carina, was a child of Bast and had spoken with her at length about their interactions, but she had never entertained the thought that she might one day meet her father.

    Clarice was born in Ryken, the Capital of the Protectorate of Ryke, on [Insert Date Here] to Adele Gailingen, a Tenured Librarian at the Imperial Logia Academy of Ryken, and Gunther Gailingen, a Junior Non-Commissioned Officer in the Ryken City Guard. Clarice has two elder siblings, Klaus Gailingen, a Personal Assistant to a Gnomish Importer of Luxury Goods, and Brigitte Gailingen, an Apprentice of a Dwarven Jeweler, and one younger sibling, Rolf Gailingen, a Recruit in the Ryken City Guard.

    At the tender age of six, Clarice was enrolled in [The Imperial Academy for Gifted Youth]. Ever the intractable child, Clarice branded all of her instructors semi-literate busybodies and shirked whatever work they assigned. In lieu of immersing herself in her studies and securing her future, Clarice exploited her burgeoning eldritch powers and beguiling personality to establish a genuine Cult of Personality within [The Imperial Academy for Gifted Youth]. For ten long years, she presided over the school as the shadow leader of the student body. The head boy answered to her. Would-be bullies enforced her will. Weak-willed teachers rewarded her subordinates with high accolades. Clarice meticulously curated an inner circle - a score of deluded fools who thought themselves her friends though they were mere flagstones paving the path to her ascendance - with the aim of deposing every strong-willed school administrator and seizing control of the school.

    The downfall of Clarice's plan was nowhere near as spectacular as she envisioned. Her undoing was heralded by neither a shocking diatribe nor a somber procession leading to a police carriage but a splitting headache that harried her on the eve of her sixteenth birthday. As the evening wore on, she settled into an embossed leather chair and absently gazed out of the window of her third-story bedroom into the gloom of a twilit domain. From lengthening shadows, the crisp evening air conjured vivid memories of a past life and a perplexing mandate from [god], and for the first time in over sixteen years (after briefly losing consciousness), Clarice dived headlong into epistemology. The words [god] had intoned reverberated through her soul. "Through mass loss of life, discovery, and culture, the inhabitants of the world can barely stave off moving backwards in their struggle for a better tomorrow. Your mission, should you accept it, is to save the world from its perpetual stasis." Deconstructing her fundamental beliefs regarding her place in the cosmos, Clarice concluded that [god] had entrusted the world to her. By Divine Right, she was destined rule.

    And just like that, the shadow leader of [The Imperial Academy for Gifted Youth] metamorphosed into a wannabe regicide. Her plan to seize control of [The Imperial Academy for Gifted Youth] would never reach fruition, for she would never again set foot on the campus that cultivated her totalitarian bent. Within two days, Clarice skipped town. Within one month, Clarice left the country.

    Backstory:
    In his previous life, Cleo was the young owner of an enterprise in his world. He started as nothing but a boy in the streets, then a graduate, and then into a respectable CEO who was loved by people. He had the pride of someone who had achieved many, but also the humility from being someone who hat to climbed their way up from the bottom. From this came his wealth, and with his wealth he would give his father everything, the single reason why he was able to sit at the top in the first place. Grateful for his support, the only person in the whole world he could call his "greatest best friend", he would spare nothing if it meant giving back the unconditional support and unhappiness he has received from him. It was until his father was struck with an incurable disease that he fell into despair. He threw his money to anything and anyone just for the slightest hope of curing his father, yet his wealth failed him. Cleo kept on visiting his father, until their very last conversation.

    "The world is unfair, and we were given with nothing but the rags on our bodies. You were an unknowing child back then, and I couldn't bear to see you grow up without knowing luxury, and knowing only bitterness at this terrible world. So I did everything, the best I could, and seeing you become the man you are now make me feel, so proud." He said weakly, his withered body laying on the hospital bed. "The person that you are, hone it. The money you've earned, cherish it." He held the trembling hand of his son. "Those are my proof, to the world, that I succeeded in my duty." The eyes of son and father locked, but one closed theirs first as the strength from their hand was lost, before the other closed theirs as tears streamed down their face. His father, was taken too early, when he was too young to go away.

    Since then, Cleo slowly lost the joy in his heart, but he kept his façade as the CEO. He would never let the dying wishes of his father be left undone, and so he tried his best to keep himself together. He became a greater person whose smile hides his sadness, and a person whose helping hand feeds the guilt of being unable to do anything for his own father. His money was his only comfort, and no matter how much he wanted to connect with others to recover, the fear always crept up inside him. One day, they too would leave him. One day, not even his money can save them. One day, they will die, like his father. Those thoughts continued to swim around his head when he talked with others, closing his heart for a long time, until the day came when an accident claimed his life.
    Current Life:
    Cleo grew up among the peasants outside the city of Ryken. The village he was raised in noticed his incredible business sense, his inexplicable arithmetic skills, and the ability draw in people to him. As a child, he had was always showered with praises, but felt something missing inside despite the affection given to him. He was grateful for their appreciation, but the strongest kind of connection he had was the feeling of longing and familiarity at the sight of coins. It has always been that way for the past years that he grew up, and as he honed his skill, he decided to become a merchant. He begun his step towards the wide world, and he was going to chase the only thing that could explain the hole in his heart.

    A Short Road:
    His first endeavor as a Merchant was both eventful and uneventful. Nevertheless, his first step towards his goal has been realized, and he will only go forward from here on out. Wealth shall be his final goal.

    Lens of Truth:
    His first visit to the Duchy was interesting to say the least, and he was able to experience magic in its glory. The trip was frankly helpful in some ways, in regards to his position as a Merchant. New ideas and business opportunities developed in his mind, and his prominent rise in the Merchant's Guild will only serve to further his own dream. However, after that particular trip, he was left with a realization that his infatuation with a certain guide was very uncharacteristic of him. Certainly, everything in this world have two sides.

    Intermission 1:
    Now that he had risen in the ranks of the Merchant's Guild, it was high time for him to finally make a company under the guild. For now, he doesn't have a base of operations, and have instead hired guards procured from Ryken's Military. Adventurers could've been feasible, but what Cleo needed was a loyalty not placed upon wealth, but ideals. With that in mind, he founded the Blue Quill Company and hired several guards to protect him in his future endeavors.

    Let's Schmooze:
    A deal has been struck, and now Cleo is under the pressure of time. In these remaining 5 months, he has to show has value in order to solidify his connection with the duke. After all, Linneus seems to be a valuable ally, and Cleo would hate losing such an opportunity. With that in mind, Cleo pushed forward into the first step of his plan, an HQ. He was able to buy a decent building in Ryken, and now he hopes on an endeavor for the next step. It was time to hire a workforce.

    Backstory: The story of the Dark Witch starts in another world: one where the entire planet is divided by music. Everything about the land changes depending on which genre of music is accepted there: from the plants and animals to the people and weather. At the center of this world is a great tree with branches that reach to the heavens and pull music from across the cosmos, influencing the very fabric of reality. This story starts in the land of Metal: where beer flows like water, beasts of flesh and steel are common, and a longstanding war with the demons rages. A human who forged a pact with the demons to gain power prophesied that the child of the King of Metal would end the reign of demons. With this knowedge the witch switched bodies with the King's most trusted advisor in an attempt to kill him. The advisor, a clever and spirited woman, escaped her confines and saved the king, loosing her former body in the process. Now inheriting a new body with new powers, the advisor worked to strengthen the Land of Metal, winning the affection of the King. The prophesy came true and a child was born, much to the displeasure of the King of Demons. A wave of demons flooded the land in an attempt to murder the child. In desperation the advisor sent her child to another world, one without demons or magic, to remain safe until she was ready.

    The child was sent to present day Earth and adopted into a rich family. While they had a son his health was poor and the family needed an inheritor to the family name. The child was named Alexandria and she was brought up like your average rich person, but something inside of her told her that this world was wrong. For one she hated classical music with a passion, much to the dismay of her music teacher and dissapointment to her parents. Second, she would sneak out of her estate to forge frendships with anyone from any background, eager to see as much of the world as possible, almost as though she was looking for something. While her parents dissaproved of her antics, her brother looked up to his little sister, being able to go anywhere and do anything she wanted. All of this came to a head when Alex found what she was looking for: metal music, as well as a competition to enlist new artists. Her parents forbid her from going, especially with her brother in such poor health. However her brother, listening to her dreams for so long, spent his inheritance to give Alex the start she needed to compete in the competition. With one last hug Alex snuck out of the estate, knowing that this would be the last time she would see her family again.

    Alex was a big hit in the competition, having a natural knack for the guitar and the fans loved her witchy astetic. She made it to the finals where she was put to the test in a battle of the bands. Her opponent was unlike any she had faced, but her fingers moved so fast that lightning sparked from them and the tip of the guitar. A sudden storm swirled around the stage and a bolt of lighting struck Alex, throwing her back to the Land of Metal. After adjusting to the new world she met with the Metal Witch, her mother, and was taught the ways of magic through music.

    Taking on the new name Dark Witch, she loved every minute in her new world. Learning both combat and magic, she soon became a force to be reckoned with. News about the child's return spread like wildfire, however, and soon a second wave of demons was on the horizon. While Dark Witch was ready to fight, the Metal Witch knew her daughter wouldn't be up to the task. With one last embrace Dark Witch was sent to yet another world, where she would hone her abilities and gain enough power to take on the demon horde once and for all.

    Like many others... he too once came from another world.

    Long ago. Too long now, they once called him a great hero. Performed great deeds for great people. Defeated great foes and earned many friends. Was bestowed many titles and many riches.

    But all good things come to an end. A great defeat ended his rise. A defeat from the hands from the hand of those he once called friend. A hero who, like Dashi, came from another world, fell to the corruption of the Demon Lords. That "hero" did great damage to both the world and to Dashi and his circle of friends. While that "hero" was slain in the end, it had ended what could have began the turning of a new age for the Demon Lords still lived...

    Dashi never did recover from that phyrric victory. Having been gravely injured, and his hope in changing the world shattered. He retired into hiding, to a small fishing hut in South Ryken.

    Long ago that was.

    His deeds and heroism long forgotten. Those he served with and served for long dead and their grandchildren having replaced them. Not but a few mentions left, and what deeds he performed that went into the bards tales have since changed names and content. His weapons having rusted to dust and skills and strengths have waned. Just another hero defeated, like the thousands that came before...

    A regretful peace until the end of his days.

    And then he died, with a fishing pole in his hand and a line in the water.

    He saw god. A bearded being who explained to him the state of the world, and that for his deeds long ago he was granted a chance to help once more. That while Dashi may have lost faith in himself, the deity had not lost faith in him. There was still work to be done, and it was time to come back.

    There were spirits being reborn in this world, spirits like him, and they would be the deciding factor in the fate of this world. They could use his help to make a change.

    The deity could not bring back Dashi's former power, but he could grant Dashi back his youth and his body. That he may once more mold himself into hero.

    The "hero" who betrayed Dashi and turned his back on the world... had also returned...

    He awoke with a start, had he really died? Sure enough his body was once more in its prime. As if the clock had been turned back to the days of old.

    Dashi found in himself a renewed since of determination. A revival of the very spirit that had set him in the path in the first place. Perhaps it was the new body, perhaps it was that he new had to face his old friend. But either way he knew what he had to do.

    And he knew where to start.

    There had been a lot trouble around these parts. More than usual. And not just because the Pendragon Barony had recently been busted for illicit dealings. Disturbing whispers have reached his ears of villainous troubles spreading. Yet at the same time, rumors of those who those rising to try and stop it. Rumors that stirred in Dashi a spark of adventure he had not felt in ages. A new generation of heroes was coming. He could smell it in the air. It was those the god had spoken of. .

    In no small part do to the troubles of the Pendragon Barony, Dashi decided to make a change here first. He called im the last of his favors, spent the last of his prestige, and used the majority of what was left of his retirement fund.

    Dashi was able to get himself the title of Baron and was immediately arranged into a marriage with the last Pendragon heir.


    He had his work cut out for him...

    He packed up his few things, and left his quiet dojo to move to his newly acquired estates. Quite the odd turn of events... but Master Dashi was perfectly fine with odd.

    Backstory: Dayle was born and grew up at the less desirable parts of the city of Ryken, being taken care of one of the small orphanages. Thrown into a dog eat dog world from such a young age, he quickly came to realize that showing vulnerabilities is nothing short of foolishness. He sharpened his tool of trade, his brawn, to become a thug and support himself with coercion, extortion, and threats. He was smart enough to recognize that joining a syndicate was a rewarding option, but the risks he would need to take in staying in one would slowly become tremendous in the long term. Besides, most syndicates do not let their people leave, and Dayle does not like people giving him orders.

    Dayle would then spend most of teenage life committing crimes, including theft and physical assault, while simultaneously avoiding the eyes of both the syndicates and the authorities. Unfortunately, he was only able to do so much before a syndicate managed to find out who has been causing a ruckus in their territory; the Red Star Syndicate. Dayle prepared for the worst and was ready to fight for his life, but was surprised to get a calm and professional visit from Red Star. He was then given an offer knowing what kind of person Dayle was; he would need to act on their "requests" as a due, and would be paid in return as well as keep his independence. Otherwise, he can screw off somewhere else out of their territory, or get stomped on for staying. He had no power to stop them, and he does not want to risk it with the other powers in other territories, so Dayle had to swallow his pride and shook hands.

    Recognizing the need for manpower, Dayle started to establish his own group, a gang with the goal of one day becoming a big organization. He recruited five dullards whose loyalty couldn't be bought, and set on his path towards the top of the underworld. A few more years later, Dayle would then hone his skills and developed his own Fighting Style, teaching his goons the basics, and using it to handle the "requests" much easier than before.
    Current Life: Dayle lived in the slums of Ryken, in a sorry state of a shack along with his gang members. He is currently living off of his gang member's domestic skills, lending them to whoever needs them for some meager cash. He also occasionally gets "requests" which best uses his brawling skills in exchange for a few more days of finances. After a few weeks of deliberation, Dayle and his 5 goons finally named their little group; the Ignition Gang.

    After Twisted Underbelly: Dayle went to cash in the "request", but the usual representative wasn't there. Instead, it was one of the high ranking executives that met him. His performance was seen and the executive approved of him, but the rest were not so sure about letting someone like him roam free. In order to remedy this, the executive took Dayle under his wing, and he was going to hear no objections from the gangster in front of him. Dayle could only take the executive's "kind offer" as he knew the others would try to put him down if he didn't have the executive backing him. The "request" was none other than a test to see if he was worth it, and apparently, he was. If he died, then that's one problem of their minds, but if he manages to succeed, then it was clear that such competence should be within their grasp. It was a setup to bring him in from the very start, and it left a sour taste in Dayle's mouth knowing that fact. However, he wasn't so sure if the whole of Red Star planned this out, or the executive was the sole mastermind behind all of this. The only fortunate thing to happen to him was the new batch of members he received, mostly thugs from Red Star. He was surprised to see fervent loyalty from them, but he supposes a reputation like his would earn him some followers. From now on, he will work under the syndicate's name.

    Current Life: A las it seemed, the maiden reopened her eyes. She stood before one who called itself, god. This god was the creator of the maiden's god. So by extension, this person who called itself God, had more celestial authority.     Backstory: Fei Liu is a given name to Bae Mun-Hee, a native to Nampo in the Pyongan province of Japanese occupied Korea born in 1919 to Bae Jung-Hee and Park Narae. His father was a member of Haninaegukdan or "Korean Patriotic Organization" which was employed by the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, a government based in Shanghai after having been exiled if not executed by the Japanese. Summarily, the Haninaegukdan was tasked with assassinating prominent figures in the Japanese empire. They were active from 1932 to almost 1936 and his father was caught and executed in 1933. On that night, a group of five Japanese soldiers entered his house and delivered their punishment without trial to the adult male and female inside. They found the body of a young man already deceased in the house, seemingly taken by a fever.

    Bae Mun-Hee hid quietly in the house of his neighbor where, just a few hours before, their own middle son had expired from a disease. After that incident, Mun-Hee was ferried across the border into China to stay with an uncle in-law whose family fled during the Japanese invasion in around 1910. The uncle himself was a Chinese citizen married to a Korean woman. When he arrived at the age of 14, he was given the name Fei Liu. Just as soon as he learned to speak Chinese, he joined the navy. Driven by hatred fostered in him by his father and the death of his parents and the feeling of being an outsider in military training, he displayed great ambition and drive. In 1937 he was horribly injured on the Ying Rui, nearly losing his right leg and hand. However, by surviving the Japanese bombardment, he became captain by virtue of all of his superiors being killed. Without an immediate replacement, Liu filled the role readily. He ordered the removal of the artillery from the ships to be used in the battle of Nanjing and he was one of the 600 men to escape the fighting when the orders to withdraw were telegraphed.

    That year, most of the Chinese navy was devastated by the Japanese air superiority and he was given a post in the army where he helped to lead a few successful campaigns during the latter quarter of the Second Sino-Japanese war. After the war died down and he sensed tensions between the CPC and Kuomintang heat up, around the time of the Japanese surrender he retired from the military and returned to his home in Korea where he spent a torturous three years in civilian life, without any opportunity to marry due to his disfigurement, disposition and age. Unable to cope with the risible fuss of domestic life and haunted by the images of the war with Japan, he left his hometown and isolated himself for another year where he came to terms with the various things he participated in his life. Though he admitted that his life was unusual and he had the capaibility to reform, and for once maintained a sense of perspective, he was overcome by regret. In light of his regrets and his life's hateful work having been completed with the utter defeat of the Japanese at the hands of China and the United States, he ingested a toxic mixture in his isolated village home on his 30th birthday, celebrated on December 1st, and allowed himself to succumb.


    Current Life: As Fei Liu, a modest 5'7'' was sufficient for his needs. Needless to say, when later he awoke to a ghastly form standing 6'7'', he was scared of falling over for no particular reason. He found himself in a light, thin body of bone. He was quite relieved to have arrived in hell, after all, he did not lead a righteous life and did many enemies and friends wrong. He was in the belly of a ship and surrounded by others in skeletal or rotting forms. It took him days to get used to the sour smell of rot and the ghastly visages wandering about the ship. Over the course of those days, he kept having dreams and delusions. Dreams of a fleshy existence in some unfamiliar wood, which looks nothing like his homeland, as a tall and thin creature with pointy ears and an odd and beautiful face shape. At times, when he would lose focus, he would think of himself as Abendell, an artist who draws natural things. He imagined that one day he was stabbed in the ribs by his lover's mistress. Fei Liu steeled his focus, it was only his mind attempting to come up with a reason that there was a thin gash over his ribs in the light black linen, tight-fitting clothing clinging to his skeletal figure. That and the awful tricks that hell was trying to play on his mind.


    After a few days of tidying up and feeling reluctant -- even in hell a military man ought not neglect his quarters -- Fei Liu worked up the courage to leave his quarters for more than a meek peek around. It helped nerves to not have a heart to pound like a drum, or skin to sweat. Without all of those things, he had difficulty discerning how the others on board regarded him. Whether they were strangers, perhaps he was sent to the same place as his shipmates, he could not tell for their lack of skin, and he reasoned they would not recognize him either. His garb and that of everyone else was confused and strange. He would have liked to see his fellow sailors once again, even in hell. His hope dwindled though, when he looked around to behold rotting corpses walking about as before, and bare skeletons, and all manner of terrible jiangshi; his mind kept fetching the words zombie and skeleton and wight and ghast and ghoul, surely and categorically. The imposition of this intuitive knowledge made the empty space in his head ache. What's more, some of them seemed to be the skeletons of dragon-men or tiny humans -- dragonborn, lizardfolk, elves, dwarves -- another sharp pain shot through his skull. No, he would not find his friends here.


    The hold was cavernous and creaking, made of wood and lined regularly with great posts of wood and thin wooden walls. Many rooms behind him in a hallway fell away to a large open area populated with tables and chairs, cots suspended from beams or the ceiling, nets full of flasks and barrels littering the corner. The wood was ashen and freckled with black mold. A twinge of irritation shot through the space between his ribs. Had his own ship come within a mile of this condition by the neglect of its crew he would have had them all hanging from their toes. Shaking it off, he departed from the mouth of the hallway and strode into the hold. He could see straight ahead a staircase leading upward into a closed hatch, wide enough for two humanoids to walk side by side. Beyond the staircase, the corner of a grate of wood in the floor of the deck could be seen, a darkening sky peeking through the grid of thick beams girded by well-worn iron. It struck him as similar to western ships from Europe. Carefully, he mounted the stairs, hunching over in this new, gigantic body and swaying unsteadily, possessing so little weight. Once he opened the hatch carefully and strode out on deck, catching glances from the passing crewmen of uniform and similar skeletal form, he beheld a kingdom of clouds, towering and wispy, linen in color and stained purple and pink by the sun sinking below the horizon. Though he sensed the air to be cold and thin, he did not feel the need to shiver.
    Awestruck, confused, he moved to the rail and peered over, immediately starting and jumping away as not water, but fresh air for leagues below him stretched into the familiar water he thought cradled this hellish coffin. All around him, exposed to dusky sunlight, the pocked and cracked ship with missing boards and destroyed paint was crawling with undead horrors. For some time he could only stand and stare.

    A while after he wandered around in stupor, unable to compose himself or conduct himself at all. A lot of thinking happened in the following period of time, he himself wasnt' sure how long it lasted. The boards of this dead ship were caked with rot and anything resembling a window was so grimey that a full moon seemed to be the same as the midday sun when filtered through them. He had no idea how long it took him to sort things out but he did, eventually. To make a long inner monologue short, he reasoned he may as well live his unlife and see what this hell had to offer. After some period of time he stole a sheet and waited for a high mountain to pass under the ship. The sheet was damp and had holes, and if he had landed on hard ground he would have splintered to pieces, but he landed instead in the tops of trees. His significantly reduced weight prevented any serious damage and from there he began wandering. Through ruins, where he met some adventurers and a draconic cult worshipping some dragon spirit. He learned how to hide himself and traveled with one of those adventurers, a pirate, to a town in search of a ship.

    The civilized life was too stressful for him, under constant threat of being discovered, and so he developed his skills as a mapmaker and set off for the wilderness to protect himself from being seen. While wandering he found the fire of a fey creature and a man and shared it for the night. When the fey creature described her mission, he found it appreciably similar to his own goals, at least the more short-term ones. He followed along, meeting more travel companions on the way, and while everyone was together, found a grand old creature in the forest. Masaruma, a great mushroom with mysterious powers, awakened to thought and able to probe the mind as well as manipulate one's path in the forest, a near-deity in his eyes. It asked for sacrifice, which he did not possess but others did. There is now a tree in that forest commemorating the sacrifice of the other group traveling with he and the fey creature. She had sacrifice for herself but in return for his lacking, he accepted a task to deliver a satchel of mushrooms to a nearby inhabitant of the forest, which he completed easily. The night of their having met that forest guardian, a man or creature in the shape of a man wandered into their subterranean camp, where they hid from an intense rainstorm, curious about some unknown meeting. The fey creature was immediately terrified at this bird-masked figure but Liu maintained his composure and gently questioned him.

    The creature or man answered that he was simply curious and indicated that he had some kind of meeting with someone at the time that he wandered into the camp. Liu offered for the man to share the fire as a formality, despite the fey creature's apparent terror. The thing refsued, then revealed that it had some kind of meeting, then when it left their vicinity the sound of great wings beating could be heard. They were unable to catch sight of the creature, not that he was keen on it in the first place. They made their way with the herd, which they were tracking for its strange migration patterns, and they discovered a hidden glen protected by carnivorous bushes which slaughtered the herd.

    Backstory: He knows nothing of whence he came, brief moments and flashes of blood and violence, he knows he lived a life of evil. And the regret plagues him, but he cannot remember the why and how. Perhaps that in of it'self is a blessing, but these feelings, ephemeral as they are, drive him to try and be better than what he thinks he once was.

    Current Life: His life was modest before his call to adventure, the simple drives form day to day to continue living in a world that wants you dead. He was the son of a minor knight to some lord whom couldn't have cared less, it is despite this the knight showed his son the way of goodness and righteous judgement, to be keen in mind but as well as heart. Despite it all, the most crucial thing a knight should know, that a knight is not made by fancy armor or blade, he is made by the heart within.

    It is, unfortunately then, in defence of his "noble" charge, his father lost his life. Grievances were paid, but ultimately, he was tossed away by those whom he deemed worthy to protect... He knew that, one day, should he live fully the way his father did, a glorified bodyguard stuck and pinned to one place... he would find death the same.

    He would take the knowledge his father gave, and what little he had in inheritance and head out to learn just how to strengthen his heart against the growing horrors around them all. And maybe.. perhaps.. he will show others the true worth of life, and to not throw it away as one would a spent handkerchief...

    Backstory:
    Luca Romana was born the son of a wealthy up and coming politician. Thanks to his father’s status and prestige he never really hurt for anything. His early childhood was spent as a spoiled brat getting whatever he wanted whenever he wanted it. Being the only son his parents showered him with affection. It was rare to see him without his mother around, and in the cases where she wasn’t with him an attendant was. It truly was the early childhood of royalty. This kind of childhood would go on to create a monster.

    As soon as he entered school Luca began to show his problematic behavior. He would boss around the other children, using violence to force them into submission if they refused to bend to his verbal commands. Any repercussions he would have faced were waved away due to his parents prestige and more importantly their money. This led to him gathering a gang of young goons around him. They became the playground bullies. This would only get worse as he entered into his teenage years. The harassing and bullying of kids turned into literal shakedowns and crimes. It got so bad that police had to step in, but even they were bought off by the Romano’s.

    As an adult Luca refused to get a normal job, instead he started using his parents money to purchase up more and more goons. They began branching out, praying for the poor of italy. Extorting small local businesses, acting as loan sharks. They themselves became a small time mob all on their own. The power got to his head and Luca started striking out more and more. On one occasion he even gathered up a small family who he lent money to and gave the father a choice. Payback the money, or they would be selling the organs of his family. The man couldn’t pay.

    Luca never did any of the dirty work himself, instead he had his goons do it for him. Thinking himself secure in his power base he began to let up on his guard. The vetting process he used on his new hires grew sloppy and he unknowingly hired a man whose father had been one of the Romana goon’s victims. This led to Luca’s early grave when the man slipped poison into Luca’s drink. That is where the story should have ended, but death had other plans for him. A god gave him a choice, gave him another chance, and gave him the opportunity to reflect on his actions.
    Current Life:
    When Luca awoke everything felt different. His body felt lighter. Even though the area around him was dark he could see perfectly fine. Sitting up he looked around to see he was in a field of corpses. A sudden rush of emotion came over him as horrific memories raced through his mind. Scenes of great crimes and inhumanity. It was enough to make him cry… yet he did not cry. Instead it felt more like he could not cry, as if he lacked the ability to produce tears. Looking down at himself Luca realized why. He was nothing but bones. No muscle or flesh clung to him, he was just pearly white bones.

    It was then that the memory of the old divine came to mind. He had been reborn into a new world, and as punishment for his crimes in his past life he was now a skeleton. This would be his punishment, every time he looked at himself he would be reminded of his past crimes. Rising to his feet, Luca would take his time to get used to his new magical body. Knowing full well that he would never survive out in the world as a bare skeleton he would perform one more despicable act. He would loot the dead.

    After searching for a while he would eventually find one body that was roughly the same size as his own. He stripped the body and dressed himself in the presumably adventurer’s gear. Now that he had clothes that covered his body, and a cloak that he could wrap around his head to cover his skull, he just needed a weapon. He would find his weapon in the form of a longsword that had been cast aside. Taking the blade he would attach the sheath to his waist. These would be the only things he would take, clothes to cover him and a weapon to wield. Any gold or valuables were left behind. The old Luca would have taken everything he could carry, but not the new Luca. It was on that field that he made an oath to himself and a promise to the nameless god who had brought him here. He would not waste this second chance. Taking up the name of the bravest of the Legendary knights he could think of, the skeleton Gawain set off into the world determined to be a force for good.

    Backstory:
    Anna was born to a middle class family in urban England. Both her families had been raised in deeply religious homes, but their own experiences had made it so they grew up with a distance to faith. They passed on that distaste of faith to their children. So Anna and her three siblings were raised with a strong anti-religion mindset. While her brothers were seemingly more tolerant of opposing views, Anna was not. All throughout school she would get in trouble by going off on other kids saying "My parents say God is evil" or "everyone knows that kind of stuff is for suckers' '. The constant attacks on others beliefs would be a continual point of contention.



    In highschool Anna would hit a low period in her life, her mother would get sick and pass away after fighting the disease for six months. Her grandparents did not make the situation better, instead they instilled that it was her mother's fault for rejecting the love of the lord. This pushed Anna's intolerance into pure hatred. She joined many online communities centered on the growing hatred of organized religion. She became more anarchist and full of conspiracy falling into the rabbit hole of extremism.



    Eventually this extremism would cost her the ultimate life. With social unease fresh in the air, Anna left the comfort of her online hate and took it into the real world. Joining up with online friends she would participate in a series of real life riots. These riots were originally protests that turned violent at the prodding of groups like her own. In the violence that followed arm forces were sent to quell the threat. A soldier still fresh from training and not use to these types of situations opened fire into a crowd of rioters. Anna was struck by one of the bullets and pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.



    It was in death she would find the ultimate irony of her life. When she died she met with God. God spoke to her and sent her on a mission to a new world. The very being she had hated and rejected had chosen her.
    Current Life:
    Hildegard was born to a pious family of minor nobles. They were only nobles in name with no real wealth to speak of. The family was a large one with ten children, eight of them being boys, and she being the second youngest daughter. While being a normal child at first it became clear that she was different as she grew up. As soon as she learned how to speak she would preach about a holy mission from God, that she had been chosen and reborn for a great mission. When asked she could never say what her life was like before, only that she was meant for greatness in this life.



    As she grew up she learned the art of combat from her older brothers as well as magic in secret, rejecting any of the normal lady-like practices her mother tried to teach her. Her zealous faith in a God no one had ever heard of, her prideful instance that she was chosen by the divine, and her rejection of social norms made her an outcast. Her family grew tired of her embarrassing behavior and sought to marry her off. Hildegard managed to ruin every arrangement.



    Finally the last straw was broken and Hildegard was thrown out of her home. Given the basics to survive and forced out into the world. The only thing of value she was given was a good quality longsword from her older brother Fredrick. With this sword and her magic in hand she set out into the world to start her personal holy quest.

    Backstory:
    Before isekaiing to the new world, Hope was the daughter of two prominent political figures. Both avid political campaigners often came home discussing current events and social injustice, exposing Hope to these subjects at an early age. As a result, Hope gained an interest in social justice, and as she aged, she sought activities to help grow her passion. While her parents preferred more lax approaches, Hope desired a more hands-on experience and, as such, turned her attention to community service.

    Hope would become a familiar face around her neighborhood, often volunteering at local community centers and assisting in government-sponsored projects. Yet, as time passed, Hope would notice a significant increase in communal crises. In truth, funding was steadily pulled from communal resources and funneled into more profitable activities, leaving many services impoverished and weak. Consequently, many of the issues plaguing her neighborhood reared their ugly head once more, destroying what little progress Hope had made beforehand. Desperate and anxious, Hope frantically searched for a way to combat the growing schism in her community.

    One day, Hope learned of a massive rally to oppose the changes made to her neighborhood, and in her desperation, she hastily joined. Unbeknownst to Hope, the rally had no intentions of being peaceful, and shortly after, chaos ensued. Although she attempted to escape, Hope was caught smack-dab in the madness and, unfortunately, was struck by a stray bullet, leading to her unceremonious death.
    Current Life:
    After an unspecified amount of time, Hope would find herself confronting a being that called itself [God]. The being admired Hope’s persistence and sought to place her in another world, hoping that she, along with many other involuntary participants, would bring change. Immediately, Hope wanted to question the figure, but before she could get a word out, her world plummeted into darkness again.

    Once again, Hope would awake, but this time, she wasn’t lying on the street, nor facing [God], but amid a forest grove. Disoriented and confused, Hope stumbled about, but not before noticing the sudden changes to her body. Her once caramel-colored skin was now pitch-black, and the modern clothes she wore were now long, ornate black and gold robes. Even her cherished necklace had changed into something completely new, now resembling a large amulet with a peculiar, blue gemstone embedded within it.

    Confused and directionless, Hope wandered about the forest, and after an encounter with a hungry wolf, discovered her arcane powers. Though she might have survived the run in with the beast, Hope was left with more questions than answers.

    Hope now seeks to find others blessed with this new life, not only to shine a light on this new world but to help her discover the intricacies of both herself and her magic. Perhaps, after she’s settled in, she’ll pursue the change she’d never accomplished in her previous life.
