She grew a normal life, with a humble father and mother, a brother who practiced in the arts of magic. Every day she was coerced into doing the same and improving her art of magic, but she did not grasp it well yet. It was all well until the truth of there practice was revealed. It was no evil, no menace, but a fear that had to be held by each generation. A mere white book and its black pages echoed as her mother told them that, there father was never really here, all was a facade to give them a humble life with a step-father before revealing the truth. There father, the one before and those befor in the past hundreds of years in each generation have met a similar fate. Mages who, in there time of old age, the book's curse takes its hold and turns them into grotesque monstrosities of cursed magic, and, the youngest of the family line, must find them and seal them away in the book to prevent its true prisoner from being released. Acting as a aid to those after, and a extra lock to keep the beast shut. If by the time, age has taken its toll and, the previous user, now a monstrosity, is not sealed. All the locks will fail and release the old sealed beast from the book. It is no great evil, but the Crow family would be wiped clean from the slates of history and, the beast now free, would search its next great meal.

With Sealed fate, one that could not be stopped, she thought, in the book itself lays a spell of unknown age, the original spell that started this curse. Its lost through time and its magic is primal and off from the current ways of magic. If she could find a way to transcribe and cast this spell....she could free the true prisoner instead of breaking free, and Without the book failing, the abomination won't absorbed those in it, possibly making it able to be defeated and bring a end to this family curse. Now with the book in her hands and tied to it, she and those sealed inside, to aid her in this twisted path. The young Elecal must weigh her decision. To continue family tradition or to end it. Time will tell as the clock ticks for her decision. Her curse Reflected as a Misty black hand on her shoulder, Only visible to those either capable of seeing magic or detect magic.

Sporting a coat of feathers, these feathered saurials are built for speed and have an arsenal of sharp teeth and claws. Among them a pair of large sickle-shaped claws on their feet, used to grapple and disembowel prey. They also have naturally good eyesight and a keen sense of smell.

The world of Fantazoica is a place where fantasy and prehistory become one; coalescing into an environment dominated by sapient dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts of many shapes and sizes. Civilization can be found aplenty, whether annexed as a portion of a vast kingdom or a humble town out in the wilderness, each ran by a plethoric variety of unique characters. It's here where'd you encounter the lavish frills of ceratopsian dinosaurs, like Triceratops and Styracosaurs, serving as armed knights flanking a royal family of feathery Dromeosaurs down a red carpet. In the local marketplace, a whole variety of unique and wondrous beings come together in a giant melting pot of different sounds and sights. To your left, you might see the bizarre figure of a Chalicothere shopkeeper conversing with a sail-backed Dimetrodon on what the best types cycads and horsetails for its garden. In the distance, huge bipedal sauropod guards flank the outskirts of the town square patrolling the perimeter, keeping a high eye out for trouble from atop their long air-filled necks. To your right, an Allosaurus picks out a fresh cut of meat off a non-sapient fantastical "retrosaur", leaving the resident Therizinosaurus butcher to slice them into select pieces with her long scythe-like claws, while her small Rhamphorhynchus companion retrieves the customer's payment of 5 silver coins. A Stegosaurus merchant converses with a crowned Estemmenosuchus on the sidelines, as they snack on a salad of green ferns and fruit beside a fountain. You even manage to spot a family of Mononykus scuttle under the feet of huge Mammoths and Hadrosaurs carrying tiny baskets of red berries back home.

Across the world of Fantazoica, one could find many such sights and more within the various towns and kingdoms across the three continents. It's here where herbivores and carnivores - once mortal primordial enemies - live side by side in relative harmony; being as unified as it could get. But even so, conflicts between the two tend to flare within the political sphere; with one side claiming they are superior and how the opposition isn't, while others strive to keep the progressional achievement of inter-species equality in check. Or how one Kingdom deserves to keep a portion of land claimed by another through one reason or another. The civilizations governing the land are both as hardy as they can be fragile; a balance that must be maintained for all to enjoy.

Born in the southwestern frontier regions of the Kingdom of Appalachia, Desmond Cloverly was raised by his parents in the small, tight-nit village of Tanamon. This small gathering was made up primarily of four different Deinonychian families - being the Millers, the Thompsons, the Antilas, and the Cloverly's - coming from nearby livestock ranches established around two hundred years ago. Each farm raised and harvesting different species of unique fauna, including several types of vegetables and fruit, trading their goods amongst themselves and selling them to various distant towns and villages within the kingdom. It was, overall, a quiet and peaceful community.

While most were satisfied with their line of work, Desmond always aspired to be something more than just a simple farmer. While usually seen as lazy and unmotivated, he always had a fondness for music and performing on the big stage. Whenever he tagged along with his family to the nearby town of "Shale Creek" several miles north to partake in the monthly farmer's market, the young deinonychian would find himself enamored by the colorful performances of the region's bard guild singing and dancing lively to the enraptured masses. His dreams of becoming a performer himself, however, would be frowned upon by his hardworking parents. They intended for their son to inherit the proud Cloverly ranch once they were gone and continue on their humble tradition. Desmond was utterly crushed by the news. When referring his ambitions to the other families, most also treated it with mild-indifference, although a few individuals would support his ambitions passively and wish him the best.

At this point, Desmond felt like the only way to achieve his goal was the leave Tanamon and his family behind. For the next few weeks, he planned out his next course of action after his secret departure; ranging from where he'd live, work, and how he'd get enough money to go into a Performing Arts school. Once satisfied with his plan, he proceeded to wait until after the Harvest Festival to make his escape.

However, two weeks prior to the date, Tanamon would be alerted to the approach of a criminal theropod gang known as the "Crimson Claw", lead by the infamous Utahraptorian "Ostrom Kirk" of the Cedar Mountain Frontierlands. Infamous for their cutthroat antics and the murder and theft of vulnerable farmers and ranch owners farther north, their sudden presence in the area was wholly unexpected and ominous. Expecting the worst to come their way, the families would send their hatchlings away from Tanamon and into various safe-locations. Desmond was instructed by his parents to head to Shale Creek and wait for them once it blew over. And so the young Deinonychian ran into the night, carrying all of his immediate belongings for safety.

But as Desmond approached the last fork in the road - with left leading straight to Shale Creek and the right leading east to merge with the bustling Morrison Trail - he was confronted with a difficult dilemma. While he could head to the town ahead and await his parents' return, he also thought that it was the perfect opportunity to high-tail out of here early and follow his dreams early. The question was... was he ready for what would come next?

The Deinonychian took a deep breath and turned east, heading into the woods that bordered the region from the great beyond. He ran for what felt to him like miles, zipping and zooming through the trees with his future prospects bustling in his head. Traveling across a log bridge, bouncing off large rocks, and edging around a deep ravine, Desmond felt like his freedom was just in sight. The exit was surely~

And then he misstepped on a loose rock.

Desmond's heart nearly escaped his throat as he slipped and fell into the deep ravine flanking his right. He felt himself tumble against the rocky cliffside, with barely anytime to think about his condition, before his head cracked against a rock.

He never felt himself hitting the bottom.

When Desmond awoke, he once again found himself laying in the middle of a forest. For a moment, he thought that someone dragged him out of the ravine and plopped him back at ground level to leave him there. However, the trees and foliage around him were wholly unfamiliar. He knew that he was somewhere different. And it wouldn't take long for him to realize that he was very much far from home. In fact, after his encounters with the various types of hairless bipedal monkeys, unusual monsters, and wild yet familiar animals now lacking proper sentience, he quickly realized he was in a whole new reality. Not even a dream; but a physical plain of existence he could interact with awake in flesh and bone.

This revelation was both exciting and utterly terrifying for the Deinonychian.

Desmond now had the autonomy to do whatever he wanted, no longer worry about having to see his parents. But the fact he was alone in this strange new world was no doubt daunting. And really... he sort of missed his parents already. But now faced with new challenges and a new adventure, the Deinonychian embraced this sudden change and began to make a name for himself; one small coin at a time.

And maybe... he might achieve his long-time dream in the process.

His body is a grotesque perversion of the light and pure beauty of the fae. He’s the shadow lurking in their light. He’s nothing but elongated lines and sharp angles. Streamers of ice and shadow play in the seems of his body and clothing. His skin is a faded grey with hair a muted black hanging in sparse tentacle-like tangles. His gleaming artic blue eyes like chips of glacial ice is his only distinguishing feature. His voice is a soft whisper like the hiss of water on hot iron.

Backstory:​

John Smith was born a nobody and died a nobody. He’s not even quite sure how he died. As much as he can remember, he went to sleep one day and then woke up in the body of a dark fae. In life, he was a forgotten wall flower, not even recognized long enough to be bullied. He walked from one moment to the another, feeling lost and forgotten. He watched others live spectacular and mundane lives. He barely remembers his parents, and he coasted through school. A firm middle child with two older and two younger siblings, there was never time for him.

He tried to be seen. He fell in love with a gleaming beautiful golden hair girl. He did everything he could to get her attention, and when he finally did she laughed at him and her father punched him in his stomach. Wandering way, puking blood, falling through and between, seeping away through layers, past his conscious thoughts, through dreams and darkness until he was somewhere else as someone else.

Current Life:​

He’s pretty sure he wasn’t born into a new body, rather taking over a body that lost its soul. Something had happened to the body he was in before he became aware, but he doesn’t remember.

He wandered for years, leveraging bits and pieces of shadow and ice to survive. Mostly half formed impulses and racial memories. Shadow Fae were always loners and wanders, never staying anywhere for long just the shadows they were named after. It is common for fathers to abandon mothers, and mothers to abandon children. For a race with low birth rate, it’s not a great strategy but it is their nature. They can not be other than they are.

Only when lost, starved, and empty of all but his deepest wishes could he find the Labyrinth: School of Loss. It is not in fact hard to find, but it is hard to leave. It has a gravity to it, pulling it’s students and the curious ever deeper into its layers, such that many never leave. It’s for this reason alone that it’s hard to find.

Here Vanta wasn’t taught, but never the less he learned. The style of teaching is socratic and zen-like covering the theories of unlearning what we see to glimpse enlightenment into what can not. Studying the absence of things requires looking away as it’s impossible to see darkness only the boundaries where light ends. Likewise cold can not be seen, because it doesn’t exist but ice if a manifestation of something that isn’t.

In this way, Vanta grew if that’s even the right word for it. His debt to the school certainly grew and is now rated at D. He will graduate as a true master when his rate of growth is faster than the gravity of his debt to the school that isn’t.

Stats:​

Strength - G (+7). General muscle power, ineffectual melee and thrown weapons. Shadow fae have poor, weak bodies that are almost childlike.

Precision - G (+7). General fine movement control like balance and moving quietly, ineffectual ranged weapons. Shadow fae have over developed brains and under developed, awkwardness in balance and coordination.

Intelligence - D (-14). Catch all for knowledge, memory, magical prowess, and mental fortitude. Great and well developed intelligence is the strength of the shadow fae.

Vitality - F (0). The bodies life force and ability to withstand hardships. While not a strength of his race, it is neither a weakness.

Speed - E (-7). General quickness and agility, dodging and covering ground, necessary for light armors and magical protections. Shadow fae are quick and agile, especially with magical protections.

    • Vanta curls both his hands around a single point of darkness, tearing at the fabric of the world. As the void grows, pulling on creation the first dark star is born. It is nothing, and in it’s nothingness it is consuming. Vanta pushes the dark star forth, shattering it into five smaller spheres that do not move themselves but rather through devouring creation are pull towards their targets leaving a trail of darkness in their wake like the contrails of some terrible sky creature.

    • Miniature balls of ashen grey look solid like hail yet fall in waves of biting nothingness, each touch devouring skin and clothing without discrimination, clinging to everything, spreading until there is nothing or their meal flees.

    • Blacker than black tentacles dart out from distant shadows, wrapping around the legs of five targets long enough to stop them from fleeing, pulling them towards their own shadows and hungry darkness within but alas it is only shadow and darkness which eventually dissipates.

    • There is more in the darkness than hungry shadows, many more and they were ancient before the world was born. Black maws arise from the shadows of Vanta’s opponents, plunging into their exposed backs, ripping and tearing, relentless and terrible. Razor sharp darkness latches on and sucks everything good and alive from with a vacuum-like sucking force.

    • There is a debt of blood within the darkness and it brings with it great terror. Tiny tears in space rain down or reality moves around the endless hunger, devouring sprinkles of negative energy eat all around Vanta at his discretion. They accumulate like fallen black snow to hold their prey tight.
  • Lost Eyes of Byatis’s Forgetfulness - Grade F (flux), Cooldown 1. #Magic E, #Appraisal F, #Feature [Darkvision]; #Magic School F (Affinity Darkness, Range E 30ft -> F 100ft, Target F 5x, Duration F 1hr), #Appraisal F (F grade or lower), #Feature [Darkvision].
    • Drawn from it’s forgotten prison in the Tower that is a Room an eye shaped void in the space above Vanta’s head ripples as the air, light and anything of substance is devoured. He sees what Byatis has forgotten, which is what is still known and not yet lost to the world, but within the domain of the great old one none the less. Through unforgetting, he learns not what is but what is not, detecting the relative levels of absence around him which lingers for an hour before reality heals itself and the distortion fades. Vanta is able to detect the difference between shadow, darkness, deeper darkness, and deepest darkness. If someone is lost, how lost they are. If someone is in debt, how in debt they are. If someone is cold, how cold they are. If someone is hungry, how hungry they are. This is a focused, channeled activity which is very distracting for both Vanta and those so appraised.

    • Vanta hurls out tiny black eyeballs that float and drift before fading from existence. He can pick upon signs of the arcane. They cling to the occult and the mana energies like a fine black dust. He can cast this rapidly and the tiny gleaming ice blue eyeballs can get everywhere but melt within a moment like new fallen snow.

    • Swiftly Vanta whispers the cursed name of Chaugnar Faugn, drawing it’s hunger towards those nearby. Shadows stretch out from all around Vanta, questing and crawling upon those who are much too close.
  • The Darkness of the Dweller’s Caress - Grade F, Effectiveness 6, Cooldown 0* multi-cast; #Magic F (self, Range 5’, 1 target), #Tangle F (Duration 1, 1 Action), #MagicSchool G (Affinity Darkness), #Energize F.
    • Vanta beacons the Dweller in Darkness to reach out and draw his target deeper into the darkness. The touch is cold and deathly arising from the nearby darkness, reaching out to grasp and rip.

Once upon a time, a little witch lived. She lived in a village surrounded by flowers and trees. She lived there long before there was a village. In a small cottage, on top of a hill. When the Village came, they did not like the Witch. So the little witch found it really hard to make friends. So the little witch came up with an amazing idea! She would make magical chocolates that grant wishes so that the Villagers would love her, and she could make friends with everyone!

The Villages still didn't like the witch. Saying her chocolates were "Cursed food from an accursed wretch!" The witch was sad. She cried and hid in her house. But then one day, a boy knocked on the door. He said "Sorry!" to the witch because of how mean the villagers were. The boy came to the witch every day, bringing her flowers and fruit. The boy was the witch's special friend!

The witch wanted to make special chocolates for her special friend. And when she did, she went to give them to him directly. When she got to his house, he was asleep. Lying on top of a red blanket with his mom and his dad. The little witch found it odd that they were sleeping in the middle of the day, but she didn't mind. She gave one special chocolate to the dad, four special chocolates to her special friend and three special chocolates to the mom.

But her special friend never came to her house ever since that day. The little witch was sad. Why couldn't she make friends? So the witch made up her mind. She would learn magic and make her precious friends live together forever!
The village was no more. The little witch's precious friends were hungry for red juice. So now the little witch had to find more red juice and make more friends and more precious friends! So that one day, the little witch and her precious friends could live forever in the legendary palace of confectionary dreams!

Candy's Precious Friends! Creatures with the rotting head of what is presumably a human, with its neck twisted onto a ribcage. The ribcage is stuck onto a ball of flesh with 4 needle-like appendages. The flesh "body" is stuffed with cotton puff balls and decorated with floral nicnacs and lacey ribbons. Despite the witch's attempts to mask their smell, the putrid stench stays strong.

Backstory: Azusa never knew her parents orphaned as a baby who arrived freshly in the world. The government took her in and started a new program aimed at keeping the country safe. From a young age she was taught how to use fire arms and other combat techniques, including how to predict the aim of a gunshot. During a mission she was on her and the team were caught in some kind of explosion. When She woke up she was in a whole different world.
Current Life: When she woke up, she was in a small farming village located on the western Empire. The first thing she remembers is waking up in a haystack not being in the last place she remembers. Searching around, she didn't see any signs; she started to take in her situation and is now searching for a way to return home.
