Skyhunter Skyhunter

He could not understand this Orcus, a man whom cared little in the value of life. It brought about that torrent of fire in his chest. "Her mistakes give you no right ta how she goes-" Vido tried to break Orcus' defence, but was countered swiftly. It was a hasty action, but he couldn't blame Vido. He felt his own blood boiling as he continued to condemn her for hearsay. "Ah've seen the kind of work you do, turning people against their kin. standin among the dead you cause-" A flicker of white hot fire bristling beneath his eyes as he once again felt that conflagrating hatred.

"-You who only knows hate for his enemy, knows not the love of his kin-"

He felt as if his blood was boiling so hot it was going to kill him; his legs preparing to to maneuver through the head cultist. His words of warning not reaching his thick skull. The first step forward being interrupted by a loud and thunderous shout. Wirejaw had no clue who this was, but he figured it was someone of import based on the reactions around him and the fact that his armor didn't have a single ding on it. The adrenaline started to fade, and the wounds Aurgnog had given him started to ache; he couldn't let his guard down in front of Orcus. He did not underestimate him after overcoming a warrior like Lyrka. His body facing Orcus with raised hands while his head followed The immaculate knight.

survived huh? He didn't sugarcoat their situation and figured he was a main player based off the authority he accrued. He didn't sound like that armor was for show, and he only worried he was about to tag in with The Champion. Wirejaw couldn't believe that he was offering them amnesty, and just...letting them leave. He didn't know if he could trust this guy, but the real question was could he survive objecting? The mention of Lykra made his squeeze his fist. Why did they want her dead so badly? His attention returning to the crew as Lunes pointed toward where new figures entered the field, along with arthur. What was it about seeing him for the first time that made him grin? he didn't rightfully know, and he didn't care. Something told him that this was indeed the right path to be on. There was a moment of silence before the child next to Arthur started to shout at the big knight. Duke Vengron. Now that was a hell of a name. Duke was a weird first name, but he wouldn't judge.

He didn't know what the hell they were planning, but he knew Lyrka was doing well. She was bleedin bad and no amount of pride was curbin it. He couldn't just sit there and do nothing.

"Duke, ahm sorry but ah can't do that. She don deserve what ya'll are doin ta her. You an yer robe wearing vulture over there. Ah may die, but it's better than walking away an dyin anyhow" He hollered, looking back at Lunes and Vido "Ah guess ahm selfish, my apologies; Ah understand if ya kick me out fer staying, but ah just can't leave her like that...or any of em' fer that matter. Thanks fer all you've done fer me" He said, cracking his neck, readying himself for anything as he drew his line in the sand.

He would protect those whom were even strangers, so long as it was right.

Orchid nearly struck down Lykra when she came crashing past them. Force of habit, but fortunately Orchid simply kept her weapon at the ready instead. But the red warrior was looking good. It was chaos right now but Orchid decided to focus on doing what she could right here, right now, and approached the second-in-command. While Orchid wasn't personally familiar with Lykra, she knew her simply because the Red Guard were a common sight around the arena. And while Orchid has no idea where Lykra stood in this mess, Orchid went to her side, kneeling down and handing the woman a ball of herbs wrapped in rice. "Here, eat this. This will help slow the bleeding and accelerate your healing, but it won't save your life if you fight." Just as Orchid handed the snack to Lykra, new guest arrived. Cultists, Orchid guessed via their outfit. One of them seemed to be the leader of sort and accused Lykra of betraying her people. Orchid had a hard time believing that considering the circumstances, but then again crazier things have happened.

And as if this band of psychos weren't enough, soon Ryken Knights arrived. And leading them was the duke... Some guy Orchid doesn't know, but he did have an impressive axe. While Orchid was pretty certain Auregnog was going to churn through these cultists soon enough, if the Ryken Knights joined in even the champion might get overwhelmed by both sheer numbers and skill. Orchid stepped towards Victorique, holding her poleaxe at the ready to defend her ward. The duke was offering everyone a chance to get out of here and Orchid was seriously considering it, since they had all the proof they needed to finish this job and get out alive. However before the crew could make a decision on escaping, Arthur chimed in to ask VIctorique to convince the cultist into fighting the knights. Victorique seemed equally confused, but Orchid was too focused on keeping an eye on these new belligerents to try and chime in. However Victorique did reason out that it seems like Arthur's old gang, who Orchid assumed are the collection of strangers surrounded by cultists, are here. So by redirecting the cult's attention onto the knights, perhaps Arthur's friends could be saved. "Seems reasonable enough. If nothing else, be easier dealing with the knights and cultist if they were after each other and not us." Orchid says quietly.

Victorique had a plan, but it involved putting the spotlight on her. Orchid knew this was going to put her ward in danger, so Orchid made sure to be by her side when she called out to the duke. Orchid's focus was keeping Victorique safe right now: anyone who'd try to charge at her would get cut down by Orchid. If anyone threw any spells or missiles at her, Orchid would be there to intercept the shot with her own body, if needed. And most of all Orchid made sure that her presence was known, so that anyone who had any funny ideas of going after the halfling would understand that meant incuring Orchid's wrath, and despite her injuries she was still ready and willing to murder everyone in this room if it means finishing the job.

The two climbed up the rope, but instead of relief, they were instead met with a more serious situation. "God fucking damn it..." Sensing that the situation was as tense as a taut string, Dayle left the planning to the rest, while scanned the area and making sure that things are not escaping his attention. One aspect that surprised him was seeing Lykra in a terrible condition, and the addition of a new group of people. He could see the cult, the champion himself, the knights, and the Duke making an ultimatum.

At this point, Dayle's guts was telling him to take the chance. The benefits of fleeing outweighs the benefits of staying. If there's anything he had learned from being a thug for so long, that would be the futility of staying in a fight you cannot win. But, there was one thing that Dayle fully considered. Sweeping his gaze at the group, he saw a sliver of chance. A chance of putting the two aggressor groups into war, and the chance to earn prestige. If he was going to have his reputation gain weight, then this was one chance he had to turn the gaze of the Underbelly towards himself. An ambition that could most likely destroy everything he worked for, or worse, his life. But if he succeeds, then he's no longer just a bastard. He will be the bastard and even the higher ups won't take light of him anymore. However, he was a leader, and so his eyes turned over to Roy.

The man turned his head to Dayle, and his gaze was met with Dayle's clear eyes. He already knew what his boss decided, and it was an aspect why he followed him in the first place. He was not ignorant to the plight of his superior, and although he wears the colors of the Red Star, his loyalty to the syndicate was not as great as his loyalty to Dayle. If his boss wants it, then... "As you will it, sir Dayle."

Dayle grinned and turned to the rest of the group, and his gaze set upon the halfling shouting at the duke in the distance. "Shorty, I hope whatever you're doing is gonna be worth it." He mumbled as he cracked his neck. " 'cause I'd like to witness a miracle today." Roy nodded and subtly held his claymore, ready to fight once again.

The Bloody Defiance

The entire arena fell silent as Victorique spoke, even after her allegations there was a deafening silence as her voice echoed through the corpse filled arena, its halls, its corridors. The lifeless bodies listening to her words that came of no action. The Champion stopped his strange twitching episodes, despite a glowing coming from his chest and a weird sparking coming from his body. Vengron stared down Victorique, his piercing icy blue eyes dwarfed the halfling. His militia behind him quiet as they looked at one another quietly then back. Orcus' face was hidden from view of Victorique thanks to her hood, Wirejaw would see a stoic look upon his face, unknown of his intentions or thought process. It felt like they were stuck in time, in a graveyard of tongueless corpses that could not speak. Would not speak. It was until there came a chuckle from the cultist leader, Orcus who turned around to face the Duke, who stood over all of them, walking away from Wirejaw and the Divees Crew to the steps that lead up to Aruegnog and Orcus' cultists, passing them to Vengron and his Ryken Knights. Vengron stared down at the depraved individual before him. Orcus then quieted down as he sighed deeply. " You were careless in your potential victory. Or more like your living puppets were incompetent. " Orcus held his knife in his hand, looking at the slick blade and the oil that secreted from the dangerous weapon. " So be it. The True Rulers' time is now. " Orcus said in a grim voice. " The illusion is over. " Orcus growled. " The Royal Dead will take back their lands that was reaped from them unfairly. " Orcus then took the knife he held and stabbed it into his own neck, not moving from its impact as he then began to push it through his neck with a sickening slash of flesh and blood hitting the ground, his own blood poured out, black as night. Pulling the knife out slowly from its place, a streak of blue light followed after it, the blade disappearing into nothingness as the blade was replaced with a necrotic blue light. Unfortunately, there being no mages, no one would know this, but Arthur's undead arm would begin to feel a strange cramping feel as this feeling in the unfeeling arm faded away fast. The robes, skin, flesh and blood then blew off the corpse of Orcus in a flash of blue power that would be felt in everyone within the pits of their stomachs, what they were witnessing was something that has been in the works for close to a millennium, his skeleton had armor around the exterior with a glowing eye on the chest, a helmet appearing on his skull as his hand that had the dagger in it was now holding some sort of blue sword made of light or something else that couldn't be explained. His eyes glowed a piercing blue as a deep cackle came from within. Blue light flowed outward from his body, in a show of power and the signature Blue Viscera the cult seemed to have.

Orcus Revealed

1661041485874.png
As the true Orcus had revealed himself and his intentions, the hooded cultists that surrounded The Champion, they ripped their cloaks off and revealed their contorted and human bodies, but the skin they wore began to decay, " Show your glory to these heathens. " Orcus' roar rang through the arena as the rapid decaying of these cultists were underway, within a moment their bodies were turned fully, parts of their bodies decayed that revealed these grafted tools place through their bodies, these mindless husks had showed that this is the result of being converted into this dogma. A mix of occult doings and body horror. Anything to make a living being into an obedient slave. If these husks still had any minds within them, they were most likely in a brain-dead state, the only way to save them would be to show them mercy. " The glory of the Occult, behold. " Orcus raised an undead skeletal hand at the perfect being. Auregnog stared at these broken husks, quickly jumping up into the air and landing about thirty feet away to stay away from what was happening.

1661041421741.png

Orcus turned around to face the group in the arena, staring down at them. Placing his blade into the ground as he gave a raspy and low cackle, " Behold your fate. You will become the instrument of Perfection. You will be the ascension of the Bulvarks again. " Orcus raised his free hand. " Come, revel in the soon-to-be return of the True Rulers, become their evangelists. " His eyes lit up as he cackled lowly, the undead figures turned to face Vengron and his army. The Divees crew were ready to fight, despite the unknown insanity that was before them. From the arena, from the corridors and hallways, more undead, with glowing blue eyes came to the entrances of each exit and escape, corpses ready to serve the will of Orcus. The fate of the Underbelly would be held here in the Bloody Defiance. Choices will be made. The outcome of many people would be decided this day.
