Thorne Barony, a quaint territory nestled in the southeast of Ryke where they make their money from the mountains and hills which provide them with ore to sell to the rest of the nation and its neighbors. As determined by the rulers of Ryke, the Thorne Barony is now part of the County of Sol which is headed by, Count Linneus Light. As such , the call for help was sent up the chain to the Count who has spared no expense and wasted no time in coming to the rescue of his people. Accompanied by his own group of soldiers, equipped with acceptable weapons and armor, Linneus had also employed several sell swords. Men and women who despite his reputation with mercenaries and adventurers, were willing to put coin over grudges.

The village of Sootspire was a small hamlet, but its infrastructure and architecture was more aligned with its mining focus, and as Linneus strode through the town atop his white stead, he examined the people and the place that he had come to save.

The people who called Sootspire home, were not by any means meager or meek. They were noticeably stocky, muscular, and many of them were taller than the average man or woman. The place they called home was once a symbol of Ryken country life and industrialism, but right now it seemed as though it were a battlefield and a cemetery.

Small corpses were scattered about, strewn through the streets and even a few properties, but none of them were humans. Goblins, and there were plenty of them making a bloody mess of the once beautiful village. Some of the bodies were riddled with stab wounds while others were crushed, missing limbs, and beaten in a way that was impossible for the average human to do.

The mayor of the village had called for help for this very reason and to accommodate his party, Linneus had rented out the rooms at one of the largest inns. He and his soldiers, along with a new member of his party arrived just a few days ago and have been trying to make sense of the situation. Now they were having their final meeting to form their battle plan and make any last minute preparations.

"The villagers describe the goblin attacks as uncoordinated and random, which means they probably lack a leader at the moment." The Count stood at the head of the table where his soldiers and the hired swords sat. They had gathered a bit of information from the civilians and were taking time to go over what they knew. "The residents also say that some goblins arrive to the village half dead, which means that they're likely fighting amongst themselves for leadership and control. All of this means that the enemy will be easy targets and this should be a fairly simple task."

The Count then gestured to a rack of weapons and armor (F Grade) that sat on the wall opposite their meeting. "If anyone is without weapons of armor, please help yourself to the gear that I have provided. Our enemy might be small and disoriented, but we should not go in unprepared. At the moment our battle plan is to move through the nearby hills as a unit, tackling threats as they appear. I want to make it clear that heroics are not necessary, the only glory to be gained here is the gratitude of the people." Linneus looked around and stared into the eyes of everyone present, even that of his own soldiers. "Are there any questions or any concerns?" He asked.

Tyrmar
Standing inside of the command tent of a noble surrounded by adventurers really had Tyrmar asking himself if he was really blessed, sure waking up a slave fighter on the brink of collapse was a rough start but after proving his skill and overcoming his opponent in an upset he'd found himself gaining not only his freedom but a job on top of it! Turning to the man who led this expedition he couldn't help but take his measure once more, he was honestly grateful to the kind-if a little short-Count for giving him a chance, if he hadn't who knows how much hell he'd have to raise to escape and make his way to the wider world.

Looking down at his hands he couldn't help but twitch at the scars layered on his new body, it'd taken time to get back to moving like he was used to but by this point he was well on his way to fighting shape and he felt like a raid on some goblins was the perfect opportunity to really show his stuff. Glancing around at the men and women who'd be fighting alongside him he wasn't surprised to see that the Count's guards were looking filled with determination and some of the mercernaries were even looking rallied, it seems like he really owed this guy.

If there was one thing he didn't like it was not repaying kindness, so he'd take care of these monsters and help out any way he could.

"I actually have a couple questions Boss," He said ignoring any reactions to the term of address, he really needed to learn more about how to act now that he was dealing with official soldiers and nobles now but that could wait for later "What kind of resistance can we expect from the goblins, do we have any idea about what types of weapons they use or the numbers they've currently gathered? If they're smaller and there's infighting we could end up picking them off in handfuls. And lastly" He couldn't help it; since he realized the world had even more to offer than the small ring he'd been reborn in, other than discovering more about these people and this world there was another thing he sought above all else.

"Are any of them particularly strong?" He could feel his body tingling in anticipation and the grin widening across his face.

Adventure, Protection and Battle, this was gonna be one hell of a trip.

Tobias

Scanning his eyes around the tent, Tobias really felt like an outsider here. Just a few days ago, he was your typical college student who spent most of his day in lectures and playing games in between them. Now? He was seated in a tent full of experienced warriors and tough looking men. Most of them even had their own armor and weapons, while all Tobias had on him was the clothing he had recieved from the village. He doesn't even know why they allowed him to participate this time without any gear on him, but he had no complains there. "Hey, if there's easy money to be made, count me in!" He thought to himself.

He then wondered if there were any others among here who had been reincarnated into this strange land, like him. And if there were, they probably would have some kind of powerful abilities or look like an outsider in terms of race and ethnicity. His eyes came to a rest on the Count. Surely, such a fine, handsome gentleman who is able to command so many could be one...

He shook his head. No point overthinking these things now. Perhaps he would look for them in the future, but now all he needed to focus on was getting some cash.

Tobias listened attentively as the Count gave his brief run down of the situation. Easy targets, fairly simple task? Tobias nodded slowly with a wide grin on his face. Now they were speaking his language! At that moment, the Count also gestured to the equipment he had brought and offered it to them. "Don't mind if I do~" He muttered under his breath, eyeing the light armor section.

When the Count asked if there were any questions, there was one excited gentleman who gave multiple. Upon hearing the last question, Tobias decided to voice his own thoughts. "From what milord has said so far, these goblins don't have a leader, so all we have to do is wipe out these small fries, no?"

Standing within an isolated mining hamlet, tasked with slaying Goblins who had been raiding the town for some time now, to protect the people and earn some coin, Niall already felt at home in this new world. The dark knight had little care for the politics of the situation, namely their employer, Count Linnaeus Light, and his relationship with adventurers, mercenaries and others of their like, and vice versa, he only cared about getting the job done and ensuring no further innocent blood was spilled. That being said, the Count was an interesting man. Though he was a leader of noble blood, the Count elected to join the fray himself and give his instructions personally. As someone of his stature, Count Light could've easily deferred this task to an underling or just through a message board even.

Niall had weapons and armour already covered, both being far better quality than anything being offered by the good Count, though the gesture was appreciated. The clinking of said armour could be heard as Niall poured over some of the details of their job, just to be sure of what they were getting into, though it was also to distract himself from the hushed whispers of his accursed blade in his mind.

Though his eyes could not be seen past his helm, Niall's gaze could be felt as he eyed the Count himself and uttered a simple question: "Count Light; Will you be joining us in battle?" The black knight's voice held a degree of cool refinement, yet his deeper tone and the resonant nature of his words evoked a sense of propriety masking a deep and as yet untapped brutality that would only be shown in the heat of battle.

(Apologies for the lack of image, it is very large.)

1652996096006.pngTyrmar. Linneus' eyes went to the now familiar voice of the man who had recently come under his employ. He knew little of him and something about Tyrmar seemed off to the Count, but he hadn't had the time to address the nagging voice in the back of his mind. He could and would continue to silence that voice, so long as Tyrmar continue to be useful.

"Given that they seem to leaderless and uncoordinated, I highly doubt that they will put be able to put up much resistance. If they have no one to organize them their efforts to fend us off will likely be half hearted. As far as weapons, the villagers have created a stockpile which appeared to be mainly swords and daggers, with the occasional shield. So they seem poorly armed." Whoever he was and wherever he had come from, Tyrmar seemed intelligent enough to ask the right questions when getting involved in a task such as this. "We should assume that there are stronger goblins than the ones that the village has encountered, they're likely the staying within the hills and attempting to wrestle control from one another." Linneus couldn't help but to think of his own rise to power and his struggle to overcome those who did not wish to see him thrive. Although this was far more violent than his own story.

The next inquiry came from a man that Linneus was even less familiar with and quite frankly he was shocked to see. He wasn't sure if the man was an adventurer or mercenary, but neither group liked him very much so he was truly shocked that he managed to gain any sell swords at all. "So far this does appear to be a simple task of pushing out some weak creatures, but that does not mean there aren't stronger monsters that just have not been seen yet." As much as he wanted this to be an easy purging of a few pests, Linneus didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea. They didn't know what was going on outside of the village's borders.

Lastly was a man who quite frankly gave Linneus pause. He was ominous and mysterious, and Linneus knew nothing of him either. He was quite the contrast to the Champion of Light he had grown so fond of. "I do intend to accompany you all into the hills. While I'm no warrior myself, I do believe a leader should be present when their people put their lives on the line at their behest. It is only fair." He learned not too long ago that many people did not agree with his way of thinking, but the Count would not let them change his mind on this.

"We've spent enough time here, chatting amongst ourselves, let's head out an do what we came here to do." A nod in the direction of his soldiers was all they needed. They grabbed their gear and marched out of the door, the sound of their armor clanking and filling the inn even as they made their exit. "You all needn't worry about my safety once we engage the enemy, focus on yourselves and one another." Linneus instructed before he too left the establishment.

Outside, the men and women who wore his emblem were already on their way to the nearby hills. Linneus climbed atop a horse he'd borrowed from the mayor and started off after them.

Tyrmar
Nodding his head at the information given to him by his employer, Tyrmar felt confident in their chances. Though the fact that the weakest goblins were the ones attacking the village left them bereft of information on the main faction.

‘Well you can’t plan for everything.’ Shrugging his shoulders he decided to worry about it when they made contact, ‘Besides’ He took a quick glance at the multiple armed mercenaries, as well as the Count’s personal guards, and finally laid his eyes on the two who peeked his interest most. ‘I have a hard time believing a group like this could be taken out too easily by them.’

An average looking man around his age, wearing gear more fitted for a Minecraft villager than an adventurer, that had advocated for an approach aimed towards weaker foes. A tad naive to expect ease against an unknown opponent, but he also didn’t seem exactly terrified at the thought of battle nonetheless and glancing at his form once more Tyrmar saw not a single visible weapon on him.

An unarmed fighter like himself or a magic wielder perhaps?

While both possibilities filled him with an eagerness to see his abilities he quickly brought his attention back to his second subject of interest, shining armor and a sheathed blade by his side he sat at a stature equal to Tyrmar yet for all his size he was mostly quiet. When Tyrmar heard his question of Count Light’s fighting skills he had to hold back a chuckle, in the short time he’d known the Count he’d found him to be a capable and intelligent leader who treated his subjects well but he also had zero martial skill.

Though that could change with time and effort the count seemed to be content on allowing the capable men and women he hired to do the fighting for him. A respectable choice if nothing else, not everyone was meant to be a fighter, though in the case of the armored man that seemed to be the exact opposite of the truth. If the Villager man gave off the vibe of nervousness and hesitance, the knight before him seemed to be keeping quiet to contain the eagerness trapped in his voice.

For others it probably wasn’t any different than thinking him stoic or short spoken, but as someone who knew the call of battle Tyrmar couldn’t help but think he’d found a kindred soul amongst Light’s hired forces. Returning his attention back as soon as everyone started standing up, Tyrmar took one last look at the armor before looking down at his current clothes.

D0B49D48-32B3-4E11-83EF-475AA1C6D101.jpeg

Though he could feel he could feel the increased durability in his strike points he knew he’d still be vulnerable overall until he could overcome it for the rest of his body, so he quickly donned a set of heavy armor before setting off with the rest of the group.

Lined up outside of the Inn were their means of transportation, white haired horses with glourious glossy manes and strong leg muscles built to carry their riders across every part of this beautiful world. Though that was only for those that chose to ride them, for now he’d keep space best bet could on foot until it became a hindrance.

As he walked with Light’s company and looked at the citizens of the village he found himself gazing at how different they were and how healthy they looked despite the attacks, ‘Yes, this’ll be a good sight to come back to.’ His first fight in a new world against a new enemy wasn’t something he took lightly, nor did he think himself completely safe from harm or worse.

So as he walked up as close to the Count’s horse as he could he couldn’t help his curiosity “Heh, you know that most nobles would call you crazy for coming out here to oversee a goblin hunt right?” It was another mark on his view on the man, to bring yourself near a battlefield for no reason other than proper fairness, not for a hunt of legendary beasts but goblins took either pride, madness or foolishness and he knew the man was nowhere near foolish.

Tobias
Listening carefully to the response from the Count, Tobias was secretly hoping that his response would be more reassuring of his safety. If anything, it made him even more wary of what's to come. He couldn't afford to let his guard down, as even a single mistake could end up costing his life. He gulped at the thought of this. Maybe there were easier ways of attaining money, and this wasn't the best way of going about it.

However, he thought back to his previous life of endlessly burying himself in worksheets and books. The life of never ending competition between peers, who constantly compared their results to his. Slaving away as a student and the stress of not meeting expectations. He was often compared to his siblings who had accomplished greater. After all, that was all he was to his parents. Another trophy to be put on display for others to admire. And when that trophy wasn't bright enough, he would take the blame for it. Naturally, his obsession with games hindered his results, but it was all he had to escape the stress piling onto him.

That was why when he was transported to this world and met with god, he didn't want to go back at all. He decided to become an adventurer for the money. But perhaps, he wondered, it wasn't so wrong for him to yearn for more. For adventure. To see the sights that he would never have seen in his previous life. To fight alongside comrades for honor and for glory. To become a hero himself. However, he was merely a human, and to fight for things such at these would mean confronting danger. Even now, if a swarm of goblins were to attack him, he had no confidence in taking them on alone.

"Welp, no turning back now." Tobias took a deep sigh, before putting on the light armor that they had provided for him. Whether to continue down this path or take another, he would make his decision after completing this one quest.

The armor felt uncomfortable to him, for that he had never tried one on before. He did some short jumps and stretches to get a feel of it. Afterwards, he decided to take a short dagger with him, which could serve as a last resort ranged option if need be. "Right, this should do."

As he was exiting the tent, he spotted the black knight who stood out among the other armored soldiers. He didn't converse with the others and had a different kind of armor and weapon from them, probably another sell sword. Although he didn't seem very friendly, it would be nice to make acquaintances with the strong.

"Hello there, fine gentleman. You look like a man with many tales to tell. Care to satisfy this humble adventurer's curiosity? This journey's probably going to be a long one, after all."

Niall Riordan

The Count's reply was satisfactory for Niall, who silently nodded after he had heard his piece. Whether he actually fought or not was yet to be seen, but it was enough that the Count was willing to accompany those he had employed to the field of battle. Once the Count Light had addressed everyone's points and questions, he would begin to leave, instructing everyone else to do the same; it was time to move out. And it was about time, too. Whatever truly awaited them, Niall couldn't deny his excitement; to slay monsters was a high calling indeed for a Knight, even a black knight such as himself. And it would mean his blade would be satiated, of course.

The company he kept was of some interest as well. Apart from the Count, Niall spotted a young man with dark skin and a clearly toned body, honed from combat. He carried no weapon, perhaps his body was the weapon if his musculature was an indicator. He had to wonder if he was a visitor to this world too...

Another who took his interest was another man who actually approached him. With short hair and fair skin, he held a hesitant air about him, like a fresh off the press rookie, a green collar. The coming battle would harden him yet, Niall believed. Unfailingly polite as well, as the man addressed Niall as a "fine gentleman", which made a change from several people generically referring to him as "Ser" before. Niall met Tobias's gaze when he spoke and kept his silence for juuust long enough that Tobias might feel uncomfortable, before abruptly breaking it by raising an armoured hand for a shake: "Niall Riordan. A pleasure." As he hadn't needed to raise his voice to be heard across a room, Niall would sound a little more gruff to Tobias than he had earlier. "We have a fair journey ahead; ask your questions." His replies were curt, but as such were clear and to the point.

Tobias

After Tobias had given his greetings, there was a long awkward pause in the air. He started having doubts about approaching this man. Maybe he wasn't into making acquaintances after all, one of those people who worked better solo. A lone wolf.

Another few seconds passed, and the black knight finally responded by reaching out his hand for a handshake and introducing himself. Tobias stared at him for a moment, with his eyebrows raised, wary of his intentions. Was Niall going to come and kill him off later for having disturbed his peace and quiet? When he spoke, his voice was deep and icy cold, sending shivers down the spine of those who had heard him. "No matter, he could be one of those shy types." Tobias smiled sheepishly, as he reassured himself in his head.

"The name's Tobias, a pleasure to meet you too." He shook Niall's hand, making sure to give a firm grip, as he recalled from his previous life that a firm handshake was important to leaving a good impression. Not too hard, but not too light either. However, because his hands were harder than the usual, his estimation of how hard to grip was off and he unintentionally exerted more strength than the usual.

"For now," Tobias waved his hand towards the exit, "let's head outside first, we can resume this conversation along the way."

Outside of the tent, there were horses lined up for the soldiers. Their white hair were blinding under the sun, and their beefy legs could ensure the soldiers get to their destination without tiring out. They looked well taken care of, which was probably to be expected from the Count. If Tobias had known how to ride them, he would jump onto one without hesitation.

With his shoulders drooped, he pointed to the horses. "By any chance, do these horses have an autopilot function? Because I have no idea how to ride one." He then shrugged his shoulders. "I guess my legs could use some warming up by walking there. How about you?"

Just a cute innocent little girl following a fleet of ugly knight people. dutdudu ♪
How did it come to this? When did it come to this? The thoughts that circled through Sariel's head as he walked through the strange village he had stumbled upon. Though born in the body of a young girl, he vehemently refuses to accept referring to himself as one. A las, he must act to survive in this weird and ugly world, but unlike in the bakery where he was constantly being showered in love and affection by his parents, he was now but just a tiny little girl lost in a place where no one knows her name. Orphaned. That ugly vermin that Sariel was once with had disappeared only giving a pointer to the nearest town. Which was here.

He stared at the buildings which looked massive from the eyes of a young child. Oh, what woe it is to be a child once more, he had thought that he may have been able to fix his life once he had become an adult in his past life, but here he was after suffering the consequences of eating too many sweets too quickly. He used to laugh when he saw "BREAKING NEWS; 7 people died due to choking on delicious sweet rice cakes after not chewing!" on TV, only to suffer the same fate as those people.

Sariel stared at the dead bodies on the floor of the village. Staring at them with intent. He then kicked the head of the thing with the heel of his hard pink shoe. "How ugly. Why are you so ugly? And why are you green?" He said, tilting his head. "If you weren't so disgusting to look at I'd probably pity you. Probably." he let out, taking his now slightly bloodied flat off of the head of the ugly green thing. He laughed a little looking at it, he found it funny that it had probably lived its life looking like some sort of ugly green land fish. Sariel could never imagine looking so ugly, but he hated the idea of being "Cute" as well. He grunted in dismay, being born in a girl's body was the most humiliating thing he could've ever thought of happening to him, and such it did.

He stared at the sky and cursed god. Then he heard the distant galloping of horses. With the girl's body turning, Sariel took a look from afar. Strong white horses move further and further into the distance with strong soldier-like people trotting aside them. They looked dumb. Like an army of idiots. Sariel hurried along toward them, his tiny child feet just barely got him close enough to look at the people between the horses. What he could make out was... An ugly guy with an ugly haircut. A fancy pants whose slightly handsome but looked too pompous to be handsome. An ill-fitted guy with ugly armour... and an ugly haircut. And then... the high pitched gasp of an excited child could probably be heard from afar, as Sariel shrieked excitedly.

Cool dark armour, a spiky helmet... red... That dark knight-like guy was so cool! Sariel's eyes sparkled with admiration. "A guy like that must be super tough and cruel..." Sariel whispered to himself as if speaking to another person. He suddenly cared more about following these strange weirdo people into who knows where. Maybe they were going to have a super brutal gang fight! Sariel quickly hurried along with a small distance behind them. He tried to stay out of plain sight but also tried his best to keep getting glimpses at the scary knight person.

A las, the hard soles of this girl's flats made a constant tapping noise with every step Sariel took.

The Count watched as the soldiers marched on without pause or hesitation, their simultaneous footsteps becoming their fanfare. A few citizens applauded the soldiers and the Count, as well as the hired swords that had come to their rescue. While the majority just wanted the whole business to be over with. Linneus hadn't come for their praise or adoration though so he had no expectations and didn't care if they loved him or not. But he did watch the crowd and took in their appearances to determine whether or not there was someone among them that may be worth helping out of this back water village.

He was pulled from his thoughts however when he was approached by one of the sell swords. The question posed brought a smile to his face as he thought about the other nobles he had met. The man was right in his thinking. "I'm not here to simply oversee the mission, I am here to witness it." Linneus replied as he pulled on the reins to slow his horse's pace. "While I can't say that I have been in battle and know the struggle of fighting to survive, I can say that I have seen the way my men and women fight." His eyes went from Tyrmar to the soldiers. "I have seen them struggle to survive and achieve their objective, I have seen the way they suffer to carry out my orders. I Have also traveled with them and endured the discomfort of long unpleasant journeys to far flung villages where no one knows your name, but you risk life and limb for them all the same." Despite the somewhat somber topic, a smile came to the Count's face. "So if they think that I'm crazy then that's fine. I am a far wiser leader thanks to my experiences."

Exiting the Village, the soldiers began the arduous trek into and through the hills. The further they went from the village the clearer it became that some sort of battle was taking place nearby. There were several corpses scattered about the hills, some lynig on bushes, some smashed against boulders, but all the carnage was felled by the silence that permeated the area.

What was more surprising was the sight of a forest in the small valley that existed between the hills and mountains. There were several plumes of black smoke that rose up through the forest canopy and the perimeter of the forest had a small negligible wall built around it. There was a crude, almost barbaric signpost with the symbol of the goblin horde that called this little enclave home. "We've arrived." Linneus announced as he stopped his horse atop the hill and looked down at the dark forest. With a heavy sigh he turned his attention to the soldiers and nodded his head. Right away his soldiers fell into a formation that they were very familiar with, which was obvious by the way they moved so swiftly. The Spearmen lined up on either side of Linneus and the swordsmen positioned themselves in front of him. The archers were then situated in the center. a circular formation around the Count.

"My Lord, there is something that you should know." One of the archers whispered to Linneus as he made his approach tot he noble's horse. He whispered to the Count briefly and the noble's eyes slowly turned to the back of his small army. "We know that you're back there! Now stop your hiding and come out!" The archer reported having heard an extra set of footsteps during their climb through the hills and even now. They'd been followed, but by who was yet to be revealed.

As Linneus tried to address the minor problem, another one was brewing. The groups climb through the hills had not gone unnoticed and now that they were stationary, they were easy pickings. "Charge!" A shrill voice cried out as seven short green frames burst out of nearby bushes and from behind boulders. The seven goblins startled Linneus' horse, causing it to stand and cry out as the monsters charged. The Count was thrown to the floor and his soldiers tried to rescue him while also attempting to gain control of the stead.

The goblins raced towards the sell swords, swinging their own daggers and blades. "Food for the beast! Get 'em!" Two goblins came at Nial, smug grins on their faces as they tried to outnumber the dark knight. Three more goblins targeted Tobias, amused by his appearance and eager to rip the weakling apart. Another two went for Tyrmar, jumping on one another's backs to even the height difference.

Quickly the archers shot down one of the remaining goblins as it and its companion tried to charge them. "We've got you backs!" The archers cried to the mercenaries.

Tyrmar
For a moment he could do nothing but stare after the man as he lead his troops further onward. To go onto battlefields without any personal power, to share the same conditions as his soldiers and know their experiences all for the sake of becoming a better ruler for his people.

“You’re one hell of a leader, your people are lucky to have you.” From there no more words were needed in the moment, a silent understanding seemed to permeate Tyrmar’s mind and he caught himself simply taking in all the sights as they trekked through the forest.

And then they happened across the bodies, twisted and broken in various states of injury goblins leading further towards the encampment where a makeshift wall stood. As he laid his eyes on the bodies all his former preparation had come to a head, taking a deep breath he inhaled and focused on letting go of his tension.

He exhaled and shook his body out just to hear Linneus’ shout of an unknown guest at the back of the group. ‘Did they track us through the woods and decide to pincer us?’ An unlikely assumption given the size of their group but he’d never fought actual real life goddamn goblins before.

Just as he considered reinforcing the rear he heard them, as they got closer he could even smell them, no wonder the horses got spooked. The goblins came charging, their green skin covered in war paint made from mud, only seven in the band covered in bones and leather wielding daggers seeking to take their lives.

In another world he probably would’ve freezed up or tried to run, common sense when faced with danger in the world he came from, but because it was this world filled with people and things he could never imagine that he charged right back.

The other two would have to fend for themselves for the moment, but he’d be sure to try to draw enemy attention to himself as much as possible.

Count Light had said he went to the battlefields to truly witness them, so why not give him a show firsthand?

The two goblins tried to pile up to match his form but that gave him the exact advantage he needed. He surged forward until he was but a few feet out of their knife range; bringing his fist up he pondered on how different this technique felt from swinging his fist.

“Exalted Heart:”

For him it was more like throwing his power with a punch, sending it rippling through the air at the lower goblin on the two headed totem pole.

“Empty Fist!”

Behold, the angel of death, guardian of blood, and slayer of all!"
"EEP!"
A childish squeak could be heard from distant bushes as the pointy bow guys announced that they knew he was there. How could they? Truly unruly, Sariel thought to himself, both his hands on his mouth. After all, it was quite a struggle trekking upon the soily ground in what was comparably ballet pointe shoes. The little girl peaked out of the bush, the royal blue ribbon tied to his hair barely visible. Then, a few of those ugly green fish face looking things swiftly jumped past him.

Sariel fell back in surprise. "Ugh. Those things are so ugly," he said to himself in moderate loudness. He watched the kind of handsome person get thrown off his horse from afar. Sariel giggled a bit. That was so funny. Some of the soldiers were even trying to calm the mightily majestic creature. Sariel couldn't help but laugh. Peaking out again, he saw the ugly-haired heavy armoured guy get double-teamed by two of those ugly green things. He watched intently.

The man... "Charged Up" as Sariel would put it, before throwing hands at the lower goblin. How uninteresting, Sariel thought. You were supposed to grab the top one's wrists, break it, and then shove it down its throat! Sariel thought to himself while watching in discontent. Instead, he was trying to topple them like dominoes. Boring. Afterwards, you'd have to use the top goblin to bash the bottom goblin into a pulp! Double kill! Bloodshed! End them all! Ugly things don't deserve the light of day. Like if you were going to be a cool colour be blue, not that disgusting shade of green. Ugh. Sariel couldn't help it.
ATotalCutiePieRight.pngThinking about the way he'd mutilate those ugly green things put him in the mood to fight. He wanted in on the fight too! He stood up, his short figure still being obscured by the nearby bushes. "Let's see what this thing can do." Sariel pulled off his choker, looking at the glowing red crystal. Holding it up to the sky, he softly shouts "Miracle ~ Makeup!" A shining red light could be seen from afar. Looking down, Sariel looked at his new body. "AHHH!" He let out a high-pitched scream. "What the heck is this stupid outfit. What the hell happened to my hair? Why am I so tall suddenly..." He whispered, putting the body's hands through its hair. Glimmering hair, transparent eyes which reflected the colour of his blood, sparkling rose-like skin and this... This pop idol like wedding dress outfit. It reminded him of his favourite musical artist from his past life...

But what he disliked most was the chest area. He looked away. For now, he would ignore how odd it felt. What cannot be seen, will not hinder thee. Looking over, he realized that he was now in view. Suddenly, a telepathic voice in his head echoed, as he was compelled to do various actions. He forced a smile and bubbly voice, they won't kill me if I'm cute right? That's what he thought to himself.

The body twirled on its own, the outfit sparkling as he said with an overly fake bubbly tone "Ahem. Uh... Ta-Da!" He paused. Trying to process what the voice was saying. "I am... No, sorry. Behold! The Angel of Sweetness, Guardian of love and slayer of all things evil!" Raising the body's hand into the air. A staff formed, as sparkling lights enveloped its shape. "And in the name of all things lovely, I, uh.." think of a name, think of a name, think of a name... Lucifer is cool, the king of hell stuff, satan... Dolce means sweet in french. "I... I am Dulcifer! And in the name of all things lovely, I've come to assist you in mass murd- I mean battle, yes battle!" His smiling wasn't convincing if you looked closely. Partially because of the embarrassing outfit. Partially because of looking at those ugly goblins. Partially because he rarely ever has to smile.

Anyone could see it in his eyes. He hated something. Staring with murderous intent. He winked, as a sparkling yellow heart flew out. He truly hoped one hour was more than enough time to get rid of all these ugly things

Niall Riordan

Though the pause had its intended effect on Tobias, the following firm handshake was a pleasant surprise to Niall. A little too firm, he'd grant, but otherwise, his hidden face held an expression that showed he was taken aback, yet impressed. Not that Tobias would've seen much beyond the slight instinctual nod of his head in response to this. Following Tobias's suggestion, he would follow him outside of the tent and accompany the Count's convoy on foot.

"Unless you count the whims of the steed as an...autopilot, then no." Niall spoke dryly, the question in and of itself was perplexing, but he took it in stride. "I'm comfortable walking long distances. The warm up is a bonus." He added without changing his inflection, not even a shrug. Niall was making a point of being hard to read, or at least trying to. He was also doing his best to ignore the loud tapping noise behind him. It was hardly the walking gait of a Goblin, he was sure, but why they had such obnoxiously loud shoes, he didn't know, nor did he care to look. At least until a soldier pointed it out as a threat.

Niall was already prepared to draw his sword to attack the rear threat, but soon the Goblins descended upon them; two headed for him, three aimed for Tobias. Not on his watch. With a grunt, the dark knight drew his cursed Bastard Sword, threw himself in front of Tobias who might've been taken unawares, luring all approaching Goblins towards him and preparing his swing, bringing his blade to his left side and delaying his attack a touch so the Goblins would have trouble discerning when he'd attack. With a short yell, Niall swung, aiming to harm all five Goblins in one fell swoop, his long blade aiding him in catching them out.

Tobias
Hearing Niall's serious response to his joke of a question, Tobias couldn't help but to give a small chuckle. He was starting to take an interest in this mysterious person, maaaaybe he wasn't as bad as everyone thought after all. They then passed by the village which had been raided by the goblins, observing the dead goblins laid across on the ground. It was a brutal sight for Tobias, but he didn't want to shy away from the sight. He'd better get used to seeing dead monsters, or perhaps even humans, because that's just how this line of job would go. "That's odd. For a village raided by goblins, there should be human casualties at least. Were they all evacuated in time, or perhaps there is something we're missing out on?" He thought aloud to no one in particular.

At some point through the journey, there were obvious footsteps coming from behind them. Tobias was sure that everyone would have taken notice by now, but seeing how no one took any immediate action, he decided to trust in their judgement and to hold back from staring at their mysterious stalker. Could it have been an enemy spy? Were they trying to lure them into a trap before killing them? Questions raced through his mind, but he simply decided to let them handle it themselves.

Upon seeing the 3 goblins approach Tobias, he couldn't help but to laugh in the face of danger. Ordinarily, he would have ran away by now, ditching the troops to fend for themselves. Or, he would have been paralyzed by fear, letting them slash him to bits. But now? All he had was confidence. After all, they had to send 3 goblins against him. They must have sensed it. That he was the biggest threat among all the other fighters. Perhaps, that was why the Count permitted a nobody like him to come along, because they too knew of his dangerous potential. And now, it was finally time to show off his true capabilities.

But before he could make any action, Niall had leaped in front of him. The dark knight took a big swing, trying to hit all of them at once. "I guess this ain't too bad either." He thought to himself. Past the goblins, he caught a glimpse of a shining red light and a sparkly lady appearing out of nowhere. Was he imagining things? She even had a whole cringey line to come with it. Tobias couldn't help but to burst into laughter. "What is a princess doing here?"

Linneus Light
The Count's men got him off the ground and managed to take control of the spooked horse. "I'm ok, I'm ok." He assured them as two of tried to check him for wounds. As he stood back up and focused on what was going one around them, he spotted the chaos that had descended upon their party. The first thing that he saw was a tower of goblins be toppled buy Tyrmar and he pitied the top goblin as he watched the power creature get kicked between the legs. It seemed that as Tyrmar knocked the bottom goblin backwards and that altered the course of the top one. The two green monsters groaned momentarily on the floor before the bottom goblin jumped up to its feet. It sported a new black eyes and broken nose that was causing the other other to swell too. "Argh!" Even as his vision was starting to worsen he charged forward, followed by his partner who ran with a limp. They split up, maneuvering to trap Tyrmar between the two of them.

The two of them both tackled Tyrmar, throwing themselves at him and holding on for dear life. They called to their allies in their monstrous language and tried to pin the martial artist down. Their call caught the attention of the other goblin who had tried to attack Linneus' men, and he came running to help them slay Tyrmar. His knife shinned in the sun as he attempted to stab Tyrmar's chest.

His eyes caught a glimpse of the dark knight and the other hired sword who were greatly outnumbered, but that did not seem to shake either of them. Tobias was even laughing at something, perhaps he found the goblins amusing. But Linneus was more focused on the knight's attempt to slay all of the goblins at one time. When his large sword cut through the, the weak goblins and their armor and weapons were no match for him. In an attempt to defend against his sword, they raised their own knives, only to see the first three be shattered. The large sword cut straight through the first three goblins, taking several inches off the tops of their heads as their craniums slid off. their bodies dropped to the floor in pools of blood. "Ahhh!" The remaining two monsters screamed out in terror and threw themselves backwards, fleeing from the scene without hesitation.

"Fire!" An archer called out. Their bolts soared through the air, landing in the back of one of the fleeing goblins' head as well as in the head of one of the goblins that had pinned down Tyrmar. He was still about to be stabbed however, unless he could think of a way to counter the creature or someone came to his rescue.

"Take aim towards that unknown figure at the back." A spearman instructed. The archers didn't hesitate to point their arrows at the brightly colored woman at the back of the group. "Identify yourself!" The spearman shouted. That drew Linneus' attention to the woman who he had managed to overlook before.

Tyrmar
As he watched the Goblins groan on the ground from his punch and nut kick respectively Tyrmar quickly surveyed the rest of the battlefield, impressively the armored man was doing even better than himself having felled three goblins in one strike. It also seemed the hesitant looking fellow was getting into the swing of things now, that or he had gone mad, but either way all in good fun.

In facts everyone except for him seemed to be doing a good job altogether, except for the random girl who he had many questions about. Returning his attention to his opponent he had enough time to realize that goblins are dicks before he was grabbed in an attempt to triple team him.

‘Well if I’m falling behind I might as well catch up while I can.’ Turning as best he could he grabbed one of the goblins grappling his body and attempted to throw them into the direction of its fellow goblins knife. Afterwards he would bring gaze down onto the last goblin holding onto him and raise his arm in a ready stance, as he clenched it into a knife hand his golden aura flared out empowering the [Crushing Strike] that fell down atop his opponents head.

Niall Riordan

Three of the Goblins fell to Niall's blade, the weapon letting out a strange metallic ringing noise as it swung in the first place, like the sound it would've made ordinarily when swung, but distorted and changed somehow. The other two Goblins fled in fear, though one received an arrow to the back of its head, along with one of the other creatures that was pinning down Tyrmar, the unarmed fighter. Though he had thrown the body of the arrow-struck Goblin and was attacking the other that had him bound, there was still the ringleader attempting to stab him, who likely wouldn't let a flying body deter him for long.

Readying his sword again, bringing it up to his side with the point facing forwards, the handle near his shoulder, Niall made ready to charge; sprinting towards the knife-wielding Goblin, his heavy breaths and clinking armour were the Goblins only warning, yet he was likely to be distracted by the body thrown his way, as well as its own deep desire to stab Tyrmar.

At the end of his charge, Niall would thrust his bastard sword forward in a fast motion, intending to impale the wretched creature upon his blade. If successful, Niall would take a firmer grip of his blade and push the Goblin down to the side using the blade as leverage and use the momentum to whirl himself around, lift his sword high and bring it down hard onto the Goblin, intending to cleave the creature in two.

What did you just say to me?
Sariel watched intently the dark knight. He was letting out a slight squeal as he watched the knight chop the ugly green fish head creatures' heads off, tapping the heels of the gold-plated flats in excitement. How brutal, How cruel! Sariel thought to himself. Though sharp objects are quite... boring. The knight would be so much cooler with something blunt and hard! Pushing all the green-ugly things together, and then smashing them into a puree. "ahh, it would be so cool!" Sariel let out as he imagined the scenario. But no, knights are boring with their... cool.. big and long swords. Sariel was kinda envious.

But a las, his excited mood would be quickly ruined. As he heard that ugly bowl calling him... A PRINCESS? "Ohoho." He let out, in a mocking tone. Sariel was making his way toward the guy, who was currently laughing his ass off. "A princess you say? A princess." Sariel clenched the staff in his hand, glaring at the man who said that. "If I was a princess, no man would ever dare to try and laugh his ugly-ass face-off in my presence. No person would even dare to look my way, and yet you dare to laugh at me? I ought to cut out your tongue so that you'd never laugh again! Ehe♥" Sariel fully intended to beat the hell out of this person, but people were in the way. As such, Sariel stood a fair enough distance. "Cuz if you've got a bone to pick, I'm totally fine with it. Cuz' at least I don't look like a stretched dried-up dying tigerfish with an ugly face and a lame-ass haircut." Looking at him from head to toe, Sariel scoffed as he continued his bickering. "Even your outfit is dated. Did you just come out of some strict-ass boardin' school after like 10 years?" Sariel continued to glare at him before taking his attention to the fact he was being held arrow-point.

Twirling around, Sariel suddenly had an innocent look on Dulcifer's face. "Oh my, what a horrible accident! Was I being rude?" Sariel said in an innocent baby-like voice with a condescending tone, "I didn't mean to, I'm sorry, won't you forgive, Lil o' me?" Sariel twirled again, this time looking toward the arrow-pointing archers. "Didn't what he said? I'm a princess, Dulcifer, the princess of cuteness and sweetness." he put his finger against his mouth, still with the condescending manner, "And plus, no one would dare to assault a beautiful, innocent, fragile and adorable girl like me, now would they? Look! I'm completely harmless!" Sariel said pointing at the super harmless almost toy-like staff.

As a matter of fact, though, Sariel seriously acting this way. He was suppressing the urge to actually vomit his insides at how cringe and disgusting he felt. Adorable? Him? Two words that clash as much as oil and water. Disgusting! On the other hand, he got to have a closer look at the dark knight. Which was way cooler than he thought. Dark Royal-esque looking armour, a killer sword (literally.) and holy hell. He was so tall! Sariel could never imagine being so tall, he was always short, even now. Well, he was finally taller than 4 feet for once, but he still felt like he was the shortest person here! excluding the ugly fish things. Even Mr Lame-ass haircut tigerfish face was an inch taller than him!

The knight suddenly charged forward, toward the other ugly hair-cut guy. So killer totally cool! Sariel wished there were more of those green things around, he wanted to hit some too. Ugh!

Tobias

Watching Niall cut down the goblins, Tobias was pretty impressed. He was right to have approached him earlier, now that such a powerful ally has got his back. Honestly, he wasn't too sure how he'd fare up against 3 goblins at once too. His only true weapon being his fists meant that he had to get in up close with them, while the 3 of them had daggers that out-ranged him. It wouldn't be an easy feat to take them on and he could easily have gotten injured, or even killed. He shuddered at the thought, noting to himself to remember to give his thanks to the dark knight later. After his assault on the goblins, Niall then rushed to aid the other sell sword who seemed to be in a pickle. Always on the move and on the lookout for the next target, huh. Tobias could learn a thing or two from him.

"Right, can't afford to get distracted now." Tobias thought. He had to focus on the main task at hand. His eyes scanned the suspicious sparkly lady from top to bottom as she approached him. She had long twin tails that curled at the ends, rosy pink dress, pretty fair skin, and fiery red eyes...... He then nervously averted his gaze to the floor. "Nope, not my type. Totally, not my type." He mumbled to himself. She then opened her mouth, scolding him for having laughed at her. Knowing well from his past life, he couldn't let his nervousness stop him from returning fire.

"Well sorry to have hurt your feelings, your majesty. I was giving you a compliment! Or shall I have called you goddess, sent from the heavens, instead?" He raised both his hands to the sky, trying his best to hold back his laughter. She continued to insult his haircut, and then his outfit, which made him feel bad and turned his smile into a frown.

"Okay, okay! That's enough! Who even cares about my appearance? I'm here to fight goblins, not run a fashion show, and certainly not to impress you." He retorted, crossing his arms and stepping forward his right foot. She then went on to explain how she was totally innocent. While squinting at her, he responded. "Oh, I don't know about that. First you stalk us. Then, you insult my haircut, and then my outfit, before claiming to be innocent and acting all cute about it. Seems pretty suspicious to me, O' leader of the goblins."

The goblins were taken care of, there was plenty of blood to assure that they were now to be counted among the many corpses that had already littered the ground. Linneus was proud and very impressed, specifically with this knight he had employed. The man was fearless and seemed highly skilled, The County of Sol, along with his own Knight Order could benefit greatly from adding this man to the ranks. He looked to Tyrmar, who had also put p a fair fight, but had been overwhelmed by his enemies. He wasn't to blame as the goblins had taken them by surprise. The other hired sword had shown no skills and Linneus was beginning to think he'd serve no greater purpose than bait or a distraction.

The only person who was worse than him was the strange woman that showed up in a bright dress. With all that was going on he had missed the woman's name, but after seeing her odd behavior he was less inclined to learn it. Linneus made himself as comfortable as can be atop his horse and turned the creature around so that he could face the others. "Enough!" He set his eyes upon the strange woman for a second and then looked to the mercenaries. "We're going to move on and going forward there can be no...disruptions." He said looking back at the woman. "It's dangerous to go back to the village on your own and you can't stay here in the hills, so you're to accompany us, but it will be just as risky." The woman seemed talkative and a bit mental, but Linneus was certain that his soldiers and the mercenaries would be able to compose themselves in a way that would make him proud and allow them to get their job done.

"Going forward the plan is to leave a handful of my soldiers at the forest's entrance to prevent anymore goblins from exiting the forest. You three will be on the frontlines on your own at that point, understood?" He looked to Tyrmar and the other sell swords, hoping that they were ready to face whatever wait ahead for them. "As for you...ma'am, you'll stick by my side, out of the way of everyone else, unless you're a capable fighter?"

Aya
Aya was very much out of her element at the moment; she had heard there was an issue with some goblins near the village of Sootspire. She was working on making a name for herself, figuring that if she was known to some extent that she would be able to join the Adventurer's Guild easier. So once she heard what was going on, she started to make her way over there as soon as she could. She gathered all of her equipment in a fairly quick manner and she was more than confident in her ability to make up for the lost time of being behind anyone else coming to the town. By the time she reached the town she was informed that a party had already been sent out to deal with the issue and was shown the direction that the party had taken.

So Aya was once again moving down the dirt road that she was told to take. Her katana is attached to her hip one of her hands resting on the hit of the blade with her tails swaying from side to side as she moved down the road. I really hope I'm not too late, I do hope I will be able to get something out of coming all the way out here. She thought to herself as she picked up her pace a bit in the hopes of running into the party.

After some time, her hearing picked up the sound of fighting nearby as well as the smell of iron in the air. Aya stopped in her tracks tilting her head up and taking a few sniffs of the air. Turning to face the direction that the smell was coming from she rushed off in that direction. Upon getting closer to the area she saw soldiers and the corpses of goblins on the ground. "Hey! Is this the group that is dealing with the goblins? I hoped I would be able to join up and help you get rid of the goblin problem!" She shouted as she tried the gap.

Are you underestimating me because of my appearance or my gender? For I am offended both ways.
Sariel watched as the dark knight person brutally committed goblin murder. Watching intently with sparkling eyes, Sariel thought to himself, Ugh, I wish I was reborn as a super cool dark knight of doom and destruction! Instead, I accidentally made a deal with a devil and now here I am. Ugh. Still, he would be cooler with like a spiky club! Or a morning star! Sariel's deepening thoughts were then interrupted by the same punk that insulted him before. Sariel was now being called a 'Goddess.' He sure does have the gal to say that it was meant to be a compliment, after laughing at me like that?

"Hmph. I'm no goddess, but I am an angel. The angel of sweetness." Sariel sighed, looking to the ground. How has his life come to this? "Ugh, all I want to do is fight! Why the hell are all those ugly green disgustingly deformed seaweed abominations nowhere to be seen?!" Sariel said with a frustrated tone. And then he heard what the tigerfish guy said. Leader of the goblins? Is that what those ugly things are called? A befitting namesake as ugly as the creatures it's for. "Hey, well look at that! I guess you're no tigerfish ether, cuz' last I checked tigerfish have brains!" Sariel said condescendingly with a surprised tone. Sariel was going to continue before Mr fancy man told them to shut it. Kinda rude, who does he think he's the boss of? I came here out of the goodness of my heart in the name of whatever that vermin was to help these and they treat me like this. Rude.

And what was with that stink eye?! Huh? Sariel glared right back at the fancy man while he wasn't looking, but put on a totally very welcoming smile when he looked over at him. "Well duh, that's what I'm here to do moron." Sariel flipped this body's hair, looking back at the weirdo on the horse. "My job is to help people so that I can help myself. I ask nothing in return, but the gratitude of others." He said. Though it wasn't really what he wanted to say, the voice echoing in his head told him to say it. So who wouldn't listen to a mysterious voice echoing in your head?! But what the weirdo on the horse had said offended Sariel greatly.

"Hey hey hey," Sariel said in an irritated tone while looking at the man, "Has anyone ever call yer' a pompous prick, cuz' that's like totally what you are," Sariel said, clearing his throat as he glared at the aforementioned pompous prick. "You were like kinda cool when I didn't know what you thought of me, because I am like both a flower and a fighter." Flipping the body's hair once more, Sariel continued. "...as long as it's within the hour. So let's be quick, yer' dimwits!" Sariel blurted out his number one weakness like it was nothing because he didn't think of it as a weakness. Why so? Because he trusted these people enough to hate them while thinking they wouldn't harm him. They're like a bunch of straight-laced losers, right?

Though suddenly the appearance of someone new had made Sariel a bit more excited. Because for once it was someone with a decent haircut. Sariel smiled, his mood was suddenly not so sour. Even better though, she was shorter than him! Finally after so long of being the shortest person... Ignoring the fact that his untransformed self was way shorter than anyone here.

Tobias

Hearing the sparkly lady speak, Tobias couldn't help but to roll his eyes. Really? Angel of sweetness? From all the insults she was spewing, she was more like the demon of saltiness. She also kept trying to talk him down, as if she was speaking to an insect. Tobias used to think he'd enjoy something like that, but now he knew he hated it after experiencing it himself firsthand. And now the Count had grown tired of their little squabble and decided to interrupt them. Still keeping his arms folded, he listened to what Linneus had to say. It seemed like he didn’t mind her joining them on their journey, even though she literally popped out of nowhere. Oh well, this could be interesting, he thought to himself. The Count then told them that they 3 would be alone on the frontlines.

“Yup, got it, you can put your trust in me in getting the job done.” He answered the Count, hoping still hoping that he could meet his expectations later. He then walked over to the dark knight. “Thanks back there Niall, really owe you one. Although, I’m not sure how I can possibly repay that favor, haha…” Tobias rubbed the back of his neck, feeling sheepish about it.

He then turned to the other unarmed fighter that he had aided in the battle. Even though this may not have been the time for introductions, Tobias still continued to do so regardless. “You okay there brother? I believe we haven’t been acquainted yet, even though we are headed for the frontlines together. I’m Tobias, and the dark knight is Niall. Well Niall Riordan to be exact. Nice to meet you.” He bowed with a single hand on his chest, for dramatic purposes.

Just then, another random girl popped out of nowhere, offering to grant her assistance in the goblin subjugation, which Tobias felt was pretty convenient for them.

Tyrmar
As his swing fell into the Goblin’s head it almost immediately gave way under his hand, blood and viscera popping out onto his armor and bits of his face. Before he even felt it’s grip on him slacken he’d turned to the still charging opponent only to see it being skewered by Niall’s attack, a great strike all told but he couldn’t but feel irritated that he’d been caught off guard so suddenly.

The battlefield for the moment had at least seemed to calm itself and the tension in the air seemed to get thinner as the Magical Girl and Tobias argued across from the Count, the entrance of Aya was met with gratitude as he’d always welcome others to a fight if possible. Looking across at the three bodies where Niall stood as well as the ones that’d been felled by the soldiers he tried to tell himself it was a matter of being surprised but he’d also overestimate his own strength.

‘I’ll have to start off with ‘Hollow’ next time.’ As his mind was drawn to his techniques he noticed Tobias walking towards him in greeting and smiled, he’d been so caught up with the Count that he hadn’t talked with the others employed.

“Ah, no trouble my friend, my fault for not introducing myself first” Eagerly he held out his hand, which from the results of his technique was now holding a dark bruise as well as a few broken fingers which were quickly twitching back to normal from his [Regeneration] “Tyrmar; good to meet you Tobias, and Ser Niall that was splendid blade work, I feel even more confident with allies like you at my side!”
