The entire globe knew it was coming and on November 19, 2019, it did; World War III was here - as quick and as lethal as all experts predicted it would be. However, nobody knew that hijacked jets and planes would fly across North America, dropping a biological agent on almost every major city...
Known as Solanum, it was designed to be efficient and deadly. The virus enters a host through an open cut or wound and can also be contracted by absorbing or ingesting infected bodily fluids. From there it travels to the brain, specifically the frontal lobe, where it begins using healthy brain cells for replication, destroying or mutating them in the process. Once the infected cells begin to take over, symptoms can include a fever, chills, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, muscle weakness, and hallucinations. In severe infections, memory loss can begin to occur before death. Death can occur immediately or up to 24 hours later. Reanimation can occur anytime up to 12 hours after death, continuining minor brain activity that allows the infected to perform basic functions to fuel their one and only purpose: to eat and, in turn, spread the virus.
Shut off from the rest of the world, it is time for the remaining inhabitants of North America to attempt to survive as their cities get bombed, as a deadly virus kills them off by the millions, and where man poses the biggest threat to their survival until something changes..
As the survivors struggle to see another day,  it became apparent that the infection was capable of progressing. During the absence of sunlight, the infected become significantly more dangerous - they quickly developed an excellent sense of smell, an alarming increase in speed and strength,  and eyesight capable of seeing great distances in the dark, all of which disappear as soon as the sun returns. With travel during the night even more dangerous than it is during the day, the odds are stacked against the survivors more than ever as they attempt to protect themselves and the ones they love and begin their battle for survival.
