Long term RP in an original setting: One part classic Fantasy, one part norse mythology, two parts nordic fairytale.

Midsummer Winds aims at being a detailed long term RP, conveying a story of grand adventure set in the original (sorta) low-fantasy world of Rotsheimgaard.
The setting is such that it is much like a fairy tale, but also one that is a bit more realistic and has a distinct touch of darkness to it. The idea is to maintain the cosy, almost enchanted, feeling of a fairy tale and at the same time make it feel believable. While original, this setting is heavily inspired by the Roleplaying Game Drakar & Demoner: Trudvang, a game which in turn is inspired by such things as Norse mythology, Scandinavian folk lore, Nordic fairy tales, and classic fantasy such as Lord of the Rings. It's a setting that borrows features from times and places in history such as medieval Europe and the Scandinavian Iron Age.
Our story is not really going to be an epic one, we won't see cities destroyed by fire-breathing dragons, nor will our characters wield flaming swords or golden armours. No, it'll be much more down to earth than that, but the setting however will built upon an epic foundation. The world itself is an ancient and enchanted one, filled with mysteries and secrets, and old tales of ancient wars and heroes will be there to be heard.
