Fandom Into the fire (1x1 MzHyde/Gallifrog)

Fia just nodded and shrugged off Rinaa's comment. She was prepared to get dirty when clearing out and cleaning. It's why she didn't mind wearing black all the time, it hid the stains and was certainly helpful when fighting demons back at home. She waited for Rinaa whilst she is packed whatever she needed for this little trip, leaning against the kitchen table. Fia couldn't help but smirk at the instructions Cal gave them for the apartment and food, before seeing everyone else get up to go out. She gave her signature hand flick off her forehead to convey 'got it, we'll be good and we'll catch ya later'.

Kay stood up when John did, agreeing that it seemed as good a time as any to head out and have a relaxing day out in the air. Seeing Fia do the hand flick, she couldn't help but smirk as she knew Fia had gotten that off of her, even though she had seen her kid do it before, it never failed to stand out to Kay. It was such an insignificant little thing probably to.moat people, but to her it was a note worthy gesture. She then followed everyone else out when people started moving. Like John, she was looking forward to spending time with him in a relaxed manner when they weren't both half asleep.

The apartment
Rinaa's packing didn't take long to get ready, there wasn't much worth putting into the backpack. She took her phone, headphones, earphones, the notebook, face mask, goggles and on a spur of the moment thing, she grabbed a couple of bottles of water from the fridge. Rinaa checked to ensure ensure she was sufficiently armed- a knife at her her back, one in the sheath that ran along the side of her shin-covering motorbike boots and a pistol and holster tucked at the bottom of her bag. A black tattered scarf was looped around her neck to cover the scars. She pulled out a set of keys on a leather cord, and put it around her neck. "Well here goes nothing" she sighed, flicking off the lights and locking the apartment door behind her. "Ready for your first, and hopefully only trip to an alternate timeline?"

Outside, heading away from the apartment

To avail of the good weather they took the outside staircase, making their way to ground level. Jay was the first one to branch off, heading in the opposite direction, then turning back to ask and important question. "If you're not there when I'm back should I just let myself in or wander over to the forge to get a proper key?" Cal and Cliff glanced at each other, coming to an unspoken decision. "Preferably come find us, but if we're not in the forge then feel free to break in." "Got it, see ya then." "And us? Is a break in on the cards too?" "For you two it isn't" Cliff shook her head, then turned to Cal "it looks like we should get more spare keys cut if everyone's going to be doing their own thing from now on."

the apartment

Fia had everything she needed in her thigh bag, which consisted of her phone, her small blades that she used in the future fight and her stele (she never leaves it unattended even if she doesn't use it) only. She could have easily fitted more in it but she carried light. She felt she wouldn't need any of the other things from her bag. She followed Rinaa out the apartment and nodded when asked if she good to go. "Yeah, let's do this" she smiled.

Outside

Kay walked out with everyone and headed outside enjoying the air as it hit her face. It felt good to get the air, even though she got some yesterday during the meal, this just felt different somehow. She stayed out of the chatter when Jay asked about whetting back in, only for John to question about the same thing for them. She really wouldn't have felt comfortable breaking into their apartment as she knew them, so to hear Cliff refuse John that privilege, she was actually quite glad for it. "We could meet you guys at the forge later then?" She asked, even if it was to pick up spare keys.

Outside the apartment
Rinaa nodded at the comment, checking the door was secure before making her way to the roof. She preferred to time travel from an open space and the roof offered the most privacy. "Some warnings are in order, I'm not sure how different your timeline is mine, but there is bound to be some vast differences outside of family stuff. Obviously avoid any family like the plague, it'll be damn hard to explain anything to them. And avoid your alternate self at all costs, I don't even want to think about what kind of paradoxes that will create." She rolled up her left sleeve to reveal the time travel device and began keying in coordinates and a time stamp. "Remember to breathe out as you go through the vortex, this is a lot rougher than the kind of journey you get with magic. There's side effects, but I don't know if they'll affect you or not." Rinaa looked up to see if there were any remaining questions.

Attil
"It's well worth doing" Cal agreed, they had given all their spares to various friends and it made sense that at the very least Elliott should get a key to his sisters place. Both women were one hundred percent okay with the other getting keys too. Cal turned to properly face John and Kay. "That sounds good, we'll more than likely be there until probably three or four at the minimum, feel free to text us, but it's a no signal zone, so we probably won't get it. We'll text if plans change." "Yeah we have no real plans time wise so, the usual take it as it comes and try not to get lost shindig." "Sounds like a solid plan" Chas nodded.

The roof

Fia followed on up to the roof, being able to easily figure out why she would pick such a place to time travel. She listened to what Rinaa had to say about the whole situation, most of it was a no brainer like the not being spotted by family or her alternate self. She had absolutely no plans to do either of those things. As the instructions got said, she nodded understanding them fully. "okay, got it." She replied, pulling her hood up from her under hoodie that she wore when she first time travelled to this time and u see her jacket.

Attil

Kay listened to the reply to her suggestion and nodded finding it to be the best plan of action. She couldn't imagine either her or John go too far out because of the whole risk of getting lost anyway, but if they did? they did. "See you guys later then!" Kay said, ending the conversation as it seemed as good a response to make as any, as she grabbed for John's hand and linked their fingers together, ready to go off and explore the area.

The roof - Self storage facility somewhere outside London
Rinaa gestured for Fia to put her hand on Rinaa's shoulder. As soon as that was done she took a deep inhale, and activated the device. Reality around them seemed to warp and bend, various scenes rushing past them as they stood there shifting in and out of focus. The device was encoded to Rinaa's specific time stream, so what they saw was her timeline and all the events leading up to it. The inky blackness of the sky speckled by stars in unfamiliar constellations viewed from cockpits, a landscape of desert dunes, vast clear oceans with high skies, blurry figures that shifted in and out of focus vanishing like phantoms. Rinaa made one long continuous exhale throughout the whole process.

Just as suddenly as it had began, the distortions stopped and they popped into existance on Earth and in an utterly different time. They had arrived at an industrial estates somewhere far on the outskirts of the city. The surrounding area consisted of large industrial shopping containers of a self storage lot, all neatly laid out in a grid pattern. The sky was cloud speckled, and there was a sort of dust in the air, along with all kinds of pollutants, but it was unmistakably Earth. Fia would feel no extreme side effects just the disorientation, blurry vision that took a few moments to settle and a brief sharp headache. Rinaa on the other hand had ashy grey skin and threw up the entire contents of her stomach, before slumping to the ground.

Attil
"See ya later." "Bye." "Enjoy yourselves" "Bye you two." They said their goodbyes and went their separate ways, Cal, Cliff and Chas towards the forge where as John headed in the opposite direction towards the outskirts of the military base area. Site the town was interesting and all, but it was really a place to cater for pilots and base personnel, along with the students with accommodation in the area as it was cheaper than in the main city or on campus. He let Kay take his hand as they walked away. The day was warm, but there was enough cloud cover overhead to suggest that it wouldn't be a scorcher of a day. "You want to explore the training base more or head for the actual city?"

The roof - London

Fia placed her hand on Rinaa's shoulder when it was gestured for her to do so. The moment Rinaa took in a deep inhale, so did Fia, feeling glad that she was capable of holding her breath for a five minutes through lots and lots of self training in a bath in The House. As reality of Attil disappeared around them, she noticed all of Rinaa's timeline flashing passed them as she held her breath, only to find herself back in London but not the London she knows completely. When they got back, the headache hit her hard and fast which made Fia clutch the side of her head, and she found herself blinking a few times for her vision to come back into focus. Seeing Rinaa hunch over and throw up though, made her feel like she got off pretty easy. Luckily for her, her phoenix side got rid of the headache relatively quickly, as it did with restoring her vision. "You alright?" She asked Rinaa.

Attil

Kay wandered off with John in the opposite direction to the others, looking up at the sky, taking in the weather. She was glad it was slightly overcast, not that hot days really affect her due to her bloodline, but she knew it'd affect John and he'd moan about being too hot if given half the chance. She then looked down to in front of her glancing around in general until he asked where she wanted to go. "Heading into the actual city sounds good" she replied. She had felt that although they no doubt hadn't seen everything of the direct area they were in, she had seen it enough and it just seemed like a good day to go slightly further out.

Self storage unit outside of London
Seeing that Fia wasn't very affected didn't surprise Rinaa that much. It was something specific about her that meant time travelling with this method came with some more severe side effects than the average person. She put it down to her timeline sensitivity. The good thing was that the effects wore off after a few minutes or so. Once the nausea had worn off and Rinaa had finished throwing up her stomach contents she nodded, pulling out a bottle of water, swilling a mouthful around and spitting it defiantly on the tarmac. "I'm still alive, which is as good as it gets for me really. Time travel this method just fucks me over every single time, this ain't my first rodeo, but it's hopefully my last."

Rinaa took another swig, the colour fast returning to her skin and rubbed a hand across her forehead, before standing up and casting a look around at the surroundings. "The coordinates are almost damn perfect though, it's not far." The storage was organised in a grid system with large blocks of containers with small avenues between them. The edges of each block were defined by the roads large enough for vehicles to pass through them. Rinaa led the way, making her way to H block and stopping outside a standard size twelve metre long container. It looked completely normal from the outside, it had been modified to give some form of ventilation just like the others. The end was sealed with a thick chain and bulky padlock. "Well here it is, shipping container, sweet shipping container. This whole areas great for parkour competitions or just training in general."

Attil

If it had been sunny John would have complained, not because of the heat like Kay suspected, but as to why they didn't get this kind of weather in London more often instead of overcast piss-storm days. " That's what I was thinking meself, it's not that hard a walk, just longish." He led the way, remembering the way Cal had taken them yesterday, away from the city and across one of the numerous bridges that spanned the mountain gap. The main city could be seen in the distance, or more precisely the tops of the taller buildings could be seen poking through the mountain gaps. The path they were taking was another tarnaced route across the mountainside, it was designed for waking so it wasn't particularly steep. The bridge itself was a remarkable feat of engineering, elegant swooping form, yet perfectly stable. Below them in the ravine was a surging white water river. They wouldn't know but it was part of the same river Rinaa and Fia had seen yesterday.

With Rinaa saying she was alright, and managing to stand up straight again, Fia nodded at what she was told about it just being a case of time travel in this manner just doing a number on her. "That's a plus then" she replied smirking about the coordinates putting them in the right area. She walked with her to where Rinaa's unit was, looking around as she always did wherever she went before stopping at the unit. "Looks like it would be, decent amount of containers around to test the agility" she commented back.

Attil

"A long walk is fine with me" Kay replied honestly. She was used to being constantly on the move, only stopping when she truly knew it was safe to, so it wasn't a bother for her. Though she hadn't factored in the fact she was now pregnant. She walked beside him via the route he chose and remembered from yesterday. She took in the sights they were walking through and the ones in the distance, still finding everything was completely mind blowing. Everything she could tell was crafted with insane precision, an architect's dream she thought. "I'll never tire of the views of this place or just how unbelievably clear their waters are" she remarked out loud.

Rinaa nodded, she had practiced here with some of her friends and Jay, just like A.J's crew practiced at the abandoned building site. "Yep, plus its made like a sort of maze and you can quite easily lose somebody in here if they don't know their way around as well as you do." The unlocked the padlock, looping the thick chain around the handles on one side, before pulling the doors open. The inside was shrouded in darkness, but Rinaa had long ago compensated for that by rigging some basic lights up to the ceiling and even some strip lighting on the floor. She flicked the switch, revealing a series of tarpaulin covered bikes arranged across one side of the container. The other side contained shelves of personal belongings, fuel cans, tools, cardboard boxes and piles of books. Right at the very back was a desk and decent computer terminal, a portable generator for welding gear and any other bulky machinery. There was a small fridge tucked in one corner, along with an air mattress and blankets. There was a light coating of dust beginning to form, it had been a while.

Attil
John nodded at her remark, he didn't doubt that Kay was up for it, but the prengbacy was putting him on edge slightly about pretty much everything. He looked around, just soaking it all in. "I don't think I will either. That's the thing about crazily advanced alien civilisations, it really shows you how amazingly the human race have fucked up." He said with a half sigh. "This planet wasn't always like this, this isanely clean and unpolluted, it used to be just as bad as Earth in terms of greenhouse emissions and global warming and that kinda amstuff. Only this lot made their way around it, and brought the planet back to this state."

Fia looked around some.more as Rinaa said about it being like a maze and she could definitely see why it would be easy to get lost in if you didn't know your way around the place. "I can see why, the place is huge" she replied, as Rinaa unlocked the container and opened the door. As the lights went on, Fia looked inside and saw just how much stuff she truly had, "I see why you would be grateful for the extra set of hands now!" She chuckled. The amount of things the girl was had was insane to Fia. Seeing the mattress, computer and mini fridge, it was clear to her Rinaa spent many nights just crashing in here when it got late. "So where do you wanna start?" She asked, taking her jacket and hooded cardigan off, hanging them on a inside bar on the door.

Attil

Kay was also slightly on edge about daily tasks because of her pregnancy, but the only thing she was worried about was getting tired early on in the walk, but she'd do what she'd always do.. power on. Even if it meant stopping for a break every now and then, she wouldn't let it stop her from enjoying the day out. She had to agree with his remark about this making Earth look absolutely awful and as a race how much we have fucked up our planet. She found it fascinating that this wasn't always how Attil looked like, and they were just like Earth in certain elements. "It's good to see that someone saw the light and sense and did something about it" she replied.

Rinaa's shipping container
Rinaa would call the container her home away from home, but she didn't know where 'home' was so she didn't. When on Earth she moved between her student digs, the container and crashing on the couch in the lab rec room. "The stuff in the boxes" she gestured at the pile of cardboard boxes stacked against the shelves "is the stuff I cleared out of my student digs." Rinaa removed her hoodie, dropping it on the matress. "First step would be to bring the bikes to the side to get them safely out. Then hook up the roof panels to get power. And after that it's just a matter of sorting everything out, dismantling the shelves and other units to bring it back to its basic shell." Grabbing two thick cables from the ground she stood on the office chair and passed them out through the ventilation hole. "Also there's a typewriter behind you in the black hard case, mind bringing it over to the desk back here while I climb onto the roof?"

Attil

"Definitely, Cal was giving the rundown history of Attil mainly for Jay and I's benefit when we walked this way the other day. They did all kinds of crazy geoengineering stuff with satellites and diverting rivers and moving entire towns in some cases in order to sort this all out." John couldn't claim he understood everything Cal and Cliff had described, but he could see Jay's fascination at it and suspected that Rinaa's exceptionally high intelligence may be more to do with her mother than her father. "It took time, there was the classic problem of the people in charge not wanting to do anything, until people got sick of their shit and overthrew the dictatorship and created the current leadership system, which is better, but not ideal."

Fia listened to the instructions at hand, looking over at the cardboard boxes Rinaa gestured toward, then to the bikes with the covers on. She saw that would be no problem to do whatsoever before glancing behind her to see the typewriter Rinaa was indeed talking about. "Sure thing!" She replied, grabbing the typewriter and bringing it over to Rinaa, putting it into the desk. She then helped by started moving the bikes to a safe spot to the side, ready for bringing them out.

Attil

Listening to what was being said, Kay could barely understand it, but it sounded highly impressive to say the least. "That sounds insanely complicated and way above my IQ level but impressive nonetheless" she chuckled. She wasn't dumb in any sense, and was smart, but nowhere near the level of Jay and Rinaa. As they walked a small gust of breeze caught her hair, which made her tuck it behind her ear with her free hand and it made her wonder why she decided to leave it down all of a sudden but was too stubborn to tie it up.

The typewriter was on eof the many quirky things Rinaa had picked up in her life. She'd found it half broken and took it upon herself to authentically restore it. For those closest to her a typewritten message meant the contents were important and personal. Leah hadn't aquired hers yet, but that time would come. While Fia made her way over with the typewriter Rinaa clambered up onto the top of the container and removed the false roofing panel that protected her solar panels. With the panels aligned and plugged firmly in, Rinaa took the protective tarp and jumped over to the next container, creating a roof between the two. She swung back into the container, switched on the generator and plugged in her phone to charge. "Bikes can go out under the tarp at the side, and if you want to charge anything, feel free to plug in." She explained, wheeling the first bike outside, not bothering to remove the tarp yet.

Attil
John nodded and chuckled at Kay's comments, they pretty much mirrored his own from the other day. What he was relating to Kay were the facts he could remember, and even then there was a probability that they were flat out wrong or he was remembering them in the wrong order. "My thoughts exactly. I didn't understand a word of it either and I made that exact face of confused incomprehension. Jay understood it though, guessing thats where Rinaa gets it from." John's hair paid little attention to the breeze, remaining its usual messy self. He couldn't help but dwell on the fact that the Rinaa they'd seen that morning was almost the polar opposite of the one they knew (or at least claimed to know, he doubted that anybody from them really knew Rinaa). He could see a lot of Elliott in her, but there was also bits he recognised as being closer in style to Chas or even to John himself. Some part of them had rubbed off on her it seemed.

Fia had to admit to herself that finding out Rinaa had a typewriter was a surprise but she kept it to herself. She didn't take Rinaa for the type to have one but it just showed how little she truly knew about her. She had never seen Leah have such a thing and it did get her wondering if Leah would have one or think about getting one. "Sure thing" she replied showing she got the suggestion before doing exactly that. She pulled out the bikes one by one onto the tarp outside off to the side. When she finished that, she checked her phone to see what the battery was like and decided it was best to charge it. So walking back in, she walked over and plugged in her phone.

Attil

It didnt surprise Kay that John would have been just confused by it all and made a very similar facial expression. It also didn't surprise her that Jay understood it all and no doubt Rinaa would have if she was there too. "I think you're right, the two of them are very like minded in many ways" she replied. He also wasn't the only one who saw a lot of Elliott, Chas and even John in her. Kay has also noticed a lot of John in her particularly as well as Elliott. She tried to not dwell on Rinaa or the others too much as she was trying to enjoy her day out without too many thoughts that could worry her. She felt she had been spent too much time the last few days being concerned or worried about one thing or the other. She put her focus back onto the walk, and taking in her surroundings as they walked to the main city. "So..I never got to ask, how was playing plas-ball with Fia?" She asked, changing the subject slightly.

Rinaa's shipping container
The generate was also connected to the WiFi router and signal booster. Needless to say this far from the main city the signal for both phones and Internet were both utter shite. Hence the signal relay on the roof. Rinaa walked back in after ensuring everything was working and plopped down on the office chair. It was old, worn and it wouldn't be that surpsing if it had been found while dumpster diving. Rinaa unboxed the type-writer, a black and silver device that she'd restored with painstaking dedication. She was reaching for the refill pad on the desk for some paper when her phone exploded with notifications, making her practically jump out of her skin with shock. She swore in Attili as the screen lit up a rapidly rising count of missed calls and text messages.

Attil
John nodded thoughtfully at her agreement with his thought. It really shouldn't be as surprising as it was, given the whole chimera thing, but it still caught him off guard. At her next question he smiled. "It was pretty damn fun actually, for a sport we'd never played and technically weren't even playing properly, I could see Cliff wincing at technique from the side. Fia's got a talent for the sport, but that would make sense as it's just parkour with rocket boots and a ball. She's got excellent balence and a flair for style, but I can't tell if that's a pheonix thing or from years of training or from both. It felt like one of those stereotype parental bonding sessions, but without the obvious awkwardness you see in movies."

After Fia plugged her phone in, she didn't get in Rinaa's way. Though she did see Rinaa jump out.ofnher skin at her phone going off like crazy and heard her clearly curse in Attili. She didn't need to know the language to be able to deceifer she was swearing. She smirked at the reaction, as she found it amusing that now made both of them to have been scared shitless at something in one day. She started to clean up here and there, where she could, not wanting to possibly throw anything out into a "junk pile" before she heard from Rinaa what she wanted to keep and what was to be thrown out. She took a guess with a couple of things that seemed like they'd be important to the girl, and kept them in a separate pile for her.

Attil

Seeing John smile was refreshing to see. She had gotten so used to seeing him worried about something or another that his smiles felt rare even though they weren't. She listened to what he said about it, which made her smile herself. "She certainly seems to be a quick learner from what I did manage to see, I could also tell she loved doing it with you. So I think it was probably a bonding session for her as well. I guess it could be a bit of both when it comes to her flair and balance. Something tells me that's just her though, I mean... we're talking about a girl who dances whilst playing an instrument. I don't know many people who can multi task to that extent." She smiled, almost smirking. "It's obvious she looks up to you a lot" she added, which made her subconsciously look down at her bump before looking up again.

to haul the tools and general mechanics stuff outside, sorting them neatly back into the boxes and containers. There was plenty of stuff in the container that was clearly junk- old notes, crops packets, shirts cut down to use as cleaning rags, some old bike tires that served as a sort of seat. Other stuff was clearly more valuable like the extensive book collection. Rinaa pulled out some empty cardboard boxes, a roll of tape and some markers and passed the over to Fia. "Here, you can make a start on the books, they all have a colour code patch on the spine, so you can box them by that system. Any unmarked books, leave in a seperate pile and I'll get through them." Once the phone had finally calmed down after spending what seemed like half an hour frantically vibrating and pinging and producing all kinds of crazy noises. It didn't help that Rinaa had set custom alerts for specific people and the phone insisted on playing every single one of them. Once it had finally called down Rinaa looked at the phone, briefly scanning through the numbers before tutting loudly "Why would it be any different?" She remarked aloud with a sigh of annoyance.

Attil
To hear that Kay also thought it was like a bonding session from both his and Fia's perspective was a relief in a way. It was weird just having a teenage daughter materialise out of nowhere and he could see why both Elliott and Jay had been so distracted after they found out about Rinaa. It was a hell of a lot to take in in one go. John chuckled at the multitasking comment "there is that, any old idiot can prance around with an instrument, but to do the choreographed stuff she does, that takes actual talent." At the next remark he nodded "Yeah, I see that in her too, which is both a reassurance that I didn't make a bollocks of it and not a reassurance as the timeline isn't settled and I could still make a bollocks of it if something changes here."

Fia listened to what Rinaa was saying as she took the empty boxes, markers and tape. "Got it, I've started a junk pile in a bin bag for you already so when we come across junk it can just thrown" she told her. Walking to a clear spot next to the boxes of books she put the boxes down and started putting them into colour coordinated order, making sure to put a label in the matching colour with the marker each box.

Attil

John wasnt the only one who found a teenage daughter arriving out of the blue, utterly mind blowing and hard to compute for a while. Kay still found it insane to even think about but she was doing her hardest to take it in her stride and put on the mindset that it was like having a test run of how to talk to a kid and be a parent. She found it actually helped her to come to terms with the reality that she had a time travelling insanely talented daughter. "That it does, and I can understand that John. I have similar worries that it could go the other way round, but I'm just stubborn enough to make the best out of either situation to do good by Fia and I know you will too. We're bound to fuck up in places, what new parent doesn't? But I trust us" she told him, her thumb rubbing his hand. "Anyway, enough of the worrying. We're meant to be having a relaxing day together." She said with a smile.

Rinaa's shipping container
Rinaa sighed slightly. "Yep, I accumulated a lotta crap in this life." She cast a glance at the container again, it was a special place for her and had quite a few memories. Few people knew it's exact location, she didn't bring anybody there, except for Jay (who'd been the one to suggest she should get one in the first place). It was her sanctuary on Earth as she knew damn well than none of the rest of her family knew where it was. While Fia cracked on with the books, Rinaa made a start weeding out the various personal items she'd borrowed from friends (and didn't have a chance to return) from her own personal items. There were quite a few photos too and Rinaa regarded each one with a sad smile before moving on.

At the back of the container were three guitars- Jack's, Elliott's/John's and Rinaa's own one. Jay had got Elliott's guitar before Rinaa had even been born and even if Fia played guitar she would have refused to give it to her. All three cases were significantly battered after years of travel, but they'd been loved and cared for. With a sigh she returned into the container to continue with the clear-out ignoring her phone anytime it made a noise in her direction. It would take almost three hours to get everything out, sorted and boxed up. Even the mattress, fridge, computer terminal and generator were moved outside leaving the container as as she'll with shelving. "Ever used a sledgehammer before?"

Attil

John just nodded at Kay's remark. A pattern was forming with the two of the them, a pattern of circular talking. One would express just how much the prospect of being a apparent to a biological child as opposed to one that was adopted at an age where he was already self sufficient and self aware, was terrifying them. The other would reassure them, usually citing Fia as a reason and saying in various different ways that were awesome and we got this. The other would accept that eventually and move on. Then the pattern would repeat again. "There is that, anywhere in particular you want to see if this place, or just take it as it comes?" John knew that there was a high chance of him accidently revisteing some of the places he'd been the night before.

Rinaa's shipment container

Fia had noticed the guitars in the back, especially Elliott's/John's. It didn't come as a shock to her that it would have been handed down to Rinaa and not herself. Although originally John's, she knew Rinaa had more of a right to it than she did. Though something told her Rinaa's Fia may have thought differently as they were completely different people, even though they were the same. She carried on with the books, filling up the boxes in a relatively good pace, whilst leaving the unmarked ones to one side in a neat stack on the floor. Fia's cleaning and sorting was always methodical and neat, even in the messiest of places. As she took a few seconds to massage her hand from using the markers and tape so much, she looked up at Rinaa when she spoke to her. "Yeah, why?" She replied.

Attil

Their conversations may have ended up becoming a pattern but each and every time Kay meant the words she spoke. Moving her hand from her bump, she placed it on his arm above his elbow rubbing his arm lovingly as they walked, before letting go, but keeping her hand locked in his. "I don't mind taking it as it comes, and just see where we go" she replied to him. She wanted the day to be just be a normal day out with no thoroughly thought out plans. She was enjoying being with John in a non intense fight or flight manner for once. "It's just nice to be together and not be on edge over something ya know?" She added.

Rinaa's shipping container
Rinaa dealt with the unmarked books, not letting the pile grow too high. They were sorted into a different set of boxes on the basis of the owners name. All boxes were then moved outside around the side of the container in order to be out of the way. At Fia's question she gestured at the shelves. "There's two choices for how to deconstruct these shelves once they're unbilted from the walls, either they can be taken apart with precision, proper tools and thought, or they can be strategically hit with a sledgehammer until they are completly useless as shelves." She pulled out a bolt remover from the tool pile as she spoke along with a sledgehammer. "Basically pick your posion."

John nodded. "Okay then, let's see where this takes us." He cast an eye out at the scrubland landscape around them. The young Cal had Elliott out into this area to train as it was vast and they were unlikely to be disturbed. At first they'd had to walk, or cycle, but once Cal became tall enough she got her hands on a motorbike and they ventured further and further each night, eventually reaching the training base and its outskirts. He could imagine the scene easily enough, Cal had found out some pictures of the two of them that she'd taken and hidden from both parents. He was kind of lost in his thoughts and nearly missed what Kay was saying. "It's weird, but a good kind of weird."

Rinaa's shipment container

Fia was strangely enjoying doing this labor style work. It made her think about seeing if when she got home, whether to redecorate her room or not. Listening, she looked toward the shelves then back at Rinaa as the options were given. Any other time she would have picked the tidier option, thinking there'd be a use for the shelves elsewhere, but this was Rinaa and all things considered with her life or what was left of it, she could see why there was the option to just destroy them. She grabbed the sledgehammer from her with ease. "Let's go with the more fun option" she smirked.

After they both agreed to just seeing how it goes and not fully thinking it all out, she noticed he had slipped into his own thoughts a little bit, but she didn't say anything on the matter, just giving him that space in his head. Though eventually she had to say something and that's why she spoke up when she did, which seemed to pull him out of his thoughts and reply. She was half expecting a 'sorry what?' answer, so when he managed to actually reply to her comment, she was slightly impressed without showing. She smiled at his words about it being a good kind of weird and she got what he meant. "agreed. It says something when we're more used to being on edge and always having to think ahead, than we are just going with the flow" she smiled with a slight chuckle. "But like you say, it's a good weird" she added. "could almost make one think we're doing a normal couple-y thing" she chuckled, not sure how he'd take that last statement, but hoped he'd get where she was coming from.

A slight smirk spread across Rinaa's face whne Fia took the sledgehammer. "No objections from me. Goggles are over there." She gestured, before pulling on her own pair. It only took about five minutes for Rinaa to unbolt the shelving from the walls of the container. She walked past Fia to the outside and came back in with a sledgehammer considerably bigger than the one Fia was using. They might be getting on just fine, but Rinaa was taking the bigger sledgehammer, even if Fia was more than capable of using it. This was Rinaa's shipping container after all. Somebody had jokingly attached a label to it bearing the name 'Mjolnir 2.0'. She was surprisingly at ease with a large sledgehammer in her hands. "Let's do this thing" she smirked, taking first swing at one side of the shelving with enough force to buckle the metal frame.

"Well if we're going to be technical here, I'm always on edge and trying to think ten steps ahead because I get dragged pretty much everywhere against my will by the universe. Resisting synchronity is far harder than it sounds, so although it doesn't look it, I spend a hell of my life just going with the flow." That was partially why he was such a stubborn bastard in the things he could control. John knew that ultimately it was futile to fight the synchronity wave that he rode, if he was needed somewhere by the universe, he would be there in some way or another. That didn't mean he didn't have free will. It was more like free will in certain circumstances. He smirked at Kay's next comment, it was true. "It really could. To think it takes going to an alien planet to achieve something 'normal'." He made airquotes gestures with the free hand.

Fia looked across at where the goggles were and as Rinaa started unbolting the shelving units, she grabbed a pair of goggles and put them on ready. With the shelves unbolted, she let Rinaa grab her own sledgehammer which she noticed was far larger but didn't complain. It wasn't in the size she thought to herself. When Rinaa said about getting on with it with a smirk, Fia matched the smirk with a solid single nod. She took a proper grip on her sledgehammer and swung at the shelf in front of her, making sure to not accidentally hit Rinaa in the process. With the obvious first dent from Rinaa's swing, it didn't take much to truly start buckling the shelf greatly. Fia found it was a great way of exerting any inner thoughts she may have had whilst strangely having fun with Rinaa.

Kay rolled her eyes when John went down the technical route, something that seemed like a broken record at times. She smirked and laughed at his next comment to her last statement, glad that it didn't cause him to close up and away from her. "There's something highly ironic about that but then, when our lives never filled with irony or similar?" She smirked. "Either way, I fully intend to make the most of it whilst we can. Because I love spending this kind of time with you" She told him.
