Introduction
To the untrained eye London is a city awash in normalcy. A conglomeration of stone and glass and steel, of towering cathedrals and winding alleys centered around the lifeblood of the Thames, the great wen's apparent marvel exists in its blend of antiquity and innovation. In a world where globalization and transformation define power, to avoid change is peculiar - to embrace it conventional. Yet, for all their advances, humans neglect the legends and lessons of their past. In the centuries since the first tellings, human ignorance has beget docility and bred risk - for the beings humans so readily dismiss as folklore and folly know better than to doom themselves to obscurity. Centuries have taught adaptation and bred acknowledgement - of the status quo, of societal laws, of expectations - and there are those that grow weary of such stipulations.
A decade has passed since a series of kidnappings and murders swept through the streets of London, the macabre production a performance carried out by none other than a cult and its unwitting sacrifices. In the silence the rest of the city, left to wander in the aftermath, thought itself safe. But docility and ignorance oft tread hand-in-hand, and the past is never one to pass up a good haunting. Missing people, unnamed bodies, a series of vandalisms and unsanctioned destruction - the calling cards have returned, but one would be a fool to place their eggs in a single basket -
For London is a city seemingly awash in normalcy, and those unable to peer into its shadows need only wait 'til they swallow them whole.
Premise
This is a historic fantasy set in Victorian London and centered in the world of the supernatural. In particular, the plot of the RP revolves around an organization - a remnant of the Knights Templar - referred to only as "The Order" and the motley crew of hunters that fill its ranks. From Vampires to Werewolves, Golems to Ghouls, and Wendigos to Witches, there is no matter of unsanctioned supernatural happening The Order won't intervene in. Even humans aren't spared from its list. In a reality where peace straddles a single thread, balance and order appear more important than ever. Yet, there is no such thing as a universal thought, and the thread holding everything together has begun to fray. Will the quietude prevail, or is a new order upon the world?
Characters
Participants will play as (a) member(s) of The Order with the potential for other roles in the future. Human characters are not required; members of The Order have been diverse for centuries.
Character sheets will be introduced after adequate interest is shown. Likewise, additional Background and Lore will be added upon interest/request and prior to the RP's start as this interest check was purposefully left vague.
Rules
- All RPN rules apply.
